Okay, at the risk of being controversial, I have to address the discourse I'm seeing regarding the 'fat jokes' in the trailer description for the third movie. Because honestly, I really think it's being blown WAY out of proportion, mostly by people who are already on the fence/don't like the live action movies anyway.
First of all, we're hearing this third hand. Very few people have actually seen this footage, and what people are latching onto is the description of what happened that's floating around in Tumblr-land. We have no idea the connotation, or how it's actually being portrayed.
Secondly, one little line about Robotnik 'binging carbohydrates' (or whatever the actual line is) doesn't mean the whole film is going to be fatphobic and tossing out 'fat jokes' right and left. Claiming that Robotnik 'let himself go' refers more to his entire mindset, as I believe he's also let his hair and moustache grow long and unkempt as well. Dude's depressed, likely dealing with holdover injuries from his last battle with the boys, and is not all there in the sanity department. It's a fair line and doesn't necessarily have to mean "Wow, he got fat, what a loser."
Last, this line, as I understand it, was said by Robotnik himself. He and Stone are not exactly the pinnacle of sensitivity and understanding. So even if he/they say some things that may not be the most kind, consider the source. It's on par with their characters.
Honestly, I've seen so much shit being tossed around about 3 since this came out, and the announcement of Keanu as Shadow, it's really getting annoying. People seem to be ready to condemn the film before we even get a real trailer for it, and are making all sorts of connections and assumptions based on very flimsy 'evidence.'
How about we hold judgment until we have more to go on than some transcription of the very preliminary footage shown at Cinemacon? How about we wait to see if Keanu actually is the voice of Shadow? (The release of this information seemed so sudden and strange, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't true, especially since Keanu doesn't have social media to confirm or deny.)
I get that the movies aren't everyone's cup of tea. I respect that. But the low-grade panic and outrage I'm seeing because of these things is, in my humble opinion, misplaced. Let's not jump the gun and assume the worst based on a few things that may or may not be true, or may be taken out of context.
Everyone just calm the hell down, and we'll deal with things once we get more solid confirmation.

Would I be able to ask what is your opinion and thoughts of representations of Plurality (DID, OSDD, Etc.) in media?
I feel like people like us are both severely underrepresented and severely misrepresented in a negative light and are often used as a narrative device to do "oh wow this person is secretly evil half the time because ooooh scary second personality!".
I just highly respect all of your analyses and wanted to see if you've collected any thoughts on this!
Also as an after note (even if you don't reply to this) I wanted to thank you for all of your work on Youtube and various platforms, it's very nice to have someone who examines different media in a positive way with an open mind! It makes me (a transfem disabled person) very happy and makes me feel like there's a safe space even for someone like me in the league community.
I don't know enough about plurality as a set of psychological diagnoses or experiences to feel comfortable framing any kind of authoritative opinion on it. I defer to the opinions of people who either have lived experience or have done more substantial research.
But if you're asking, and you want me to express my best understanding, I'll give it a shot.
My opinions on it aren't especially deep or insightful, I think. As you say, in character design it has this really unfortunate Jekyll and Hyde baggage which is difficult to dismantle and which you always struggle against when trying to tell stories about it. Most people's point of reference for DID would probably be something like the Gollum/Sméagol system, or horror movies like that M. Night Shyamalan film Split. It is habitually treated as essentially a kind of demonic possession, and conflated with what I would consider very Christian ideas of sin and virtue.
Even on the positive end, I believe it tends to get exoticized, where a character might have several distinct personalities each of whom has distinct sets of superpowers or abilities, which... I mean I guess it's nice to frame it as a form of empowerment and something positive rather than horrifying? But it still kinda reinforces this idea that DID is some sort of magic, or a fantastical condition, like being bitten by a radioactive spider or transformed by alien space rays. I feel like it still sort of dehumanizes the condition, turns it into something other than just another way to go through the human experience.
And I don't know how you untangle those things - Jekyll and Hyde and its derivative narratives are compelling because the experience of not being in control of your own worst impulses is a near universal human experience. The experience of wearing multiple masks and faces in multiple different situations and grappling with existential questions of selfhood between them is a universal human experience.
So that's probably a kind of story that we're going to keep telling, it is a human need to express human experiences. But telling those stories shouldn't tar the experiences or nature of plural people by association, it shouldn't be necessary to exoticize or demonize these things to frame a compelling narrative about them.
What exactly the positive middle-ground between these things looks like, I don't know - again, I really don't feel like I have a strong enough foundation of knowledge to speak with authority, but a good place to start is probably with plural people creating stories about their experiences, and the rest of us taking our cues from that.
(Idly, if anyone has a book or comic recommendation for a story that does plurality well, do let me know in the replies.)

"There is no such thing as binary privilege!"
Okay so tell me, when was the last time any big-name video game was released where you have the option of choosing to play as a man, woman, or nonbinary character?
Where are all the nonbinary action heroes, romance protagonists, ect?
Where are all the nonbinary characters in popular, mainstream media? Where is this supposed equality between men, women, and nonbinary people that I'm apparently missing?
Where are my options in the brand new $60 video games to play as a nonbinary character? Where are my options to pick from a list of pronouns rather than being forced to use she/her or he/him depending on whether I choose a female character or a male character?
Why can't I play as a nonbinary character in Skyrim without mods that are only available on computer, and only available at all because nonbinary people make them for other nonbinary poeple?
Where are all the nonbinary NPCS who play major parts in main quests that you are guarenteed to meet when you play the game?
If there's no such thing as specific disadvantages that nonbinary people face, then why can't I play as a canonically nonbinary character in any video game I want? Why can't I pick up literally any video game and at least see nonbinary characters even if I can't play one myself?
Binary people at least /probably/ get the opportunity to play a character who is the same gender and is refered to by the same pronouns they do. For nonbinary people it's pretty much literally impossible, especially if you solely use neopronouns.
Even with mods for Skyrim that let you pick or even alternate your pronouns, the options are still limited to he/him, she/her, and they/them, and that's it. And that's something the modder built by themselves for free.
There's no reason a company couldn't fairly pay its employees to incorporate more pronouns or better yet custom pronouns into their games. But it doesn't happen.
Not even The Elder Scrolls Online, which has plenty of gay, lesbian, and mspec characters, and now literally has the goddess of love say aspec rights, there's only one canonically trans character that I know of so far, and no nonbinary characters that aren't literally just from species that reproduce asexually. And I wouldn't exactly call any of the Sload "characters" in the first place, considering all the ones I've met literally just exist to say evil things and then be killed by you. (Sarcasm: Because bioessentialism, yay! /sarcasm)
I just literally do not understand how anyone can say that nonbinary people face no specific forms of discrimination when, even looking past Literally Everything Else including things that are literally life threatening, we can't even do something as simple as pick up a video game and play as a character like ourselves unless we literally just make up shit about them and ignore everything the game actually has to say.
If I want to play a video game, I have no choice but to be misgendered, whether I play as a man or as a woman. That is not a problem binary people face, cis or trans.
The only way you can think nonbinary people face no specific forms of discrimination is if you don't listen to nonbinary people when we tell you what our struggles are, even the most basic, "harmless" ones like the inability to play as a nonbinary character in a roleplaying video game.
Edit: Binary people can 100% reblog this, thank you for caring enough to listen and learn!

I know wives and gf talk isn't for everyone so asks under a cut - and I hate the term 'wag' so I'll start tagging these 'f1partnertalk' for those who want to bl!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
right??? and the fact that in his Australia tourism type video with her he refers to her as his 'partner' which to me is both him being socially minded but also respect bc by that time they'd been together 3 and a bit years!
and exactly !! on the one hand he's not using her as a status thing of 'look I have a gf' but he's also made the very smart decision (and I think this was the Webbers influence) of not having her be a secret or a mystery. her acc going private is pretty normal for F1 gfs who aren't using their profile for business but the fact that he casually reminds people about her and that she'll like certain content posted about her or them is enough to stop anyone thinking she's 'fake' or whatever. there were some feeble attempts to claim they were broken up just bc she didn't go to many races but when folks pointed out she was in final year of uni for a very difficult degree it died down.
gotta say though - and this isn't in reply to you it's an aside about comments I see - I find the straight people thing of jumping to theories about marriage for long term relationships SO weird. it's like there's this ticking time bomb for het relationships lol. it's esp weird since they're so young and his career requires him to be so selfish (his and Lando's words) that I'm like how do ppl see that and leap to them marrying buying a house and planning kids when they not only don't live together yet they also spend most of the year apart??? sure they're super mature and stable for their age but who I am now and who I was during hs and college has been so incredibly different! I couldn't imagine making that huge a commitment esp if I had an all consuming career like Oscar does. I just hope those comments (however well meaning) don't reach them bc that feels crazy over-stepping and would be so awkward to read.
Tumblr media
these asks I felt like went together really well lol
(this is the post anon refers to) oh anon. idk if you've seen them but have a look through here to enjoy Oscar's 8-year little crush on Lando and I think it's safe to say that Lily will at least have had an inkling about it.
and the thing is that being physical just isn't Oscar's way even with Lily which if Lando was at all hmmmm about then he'll have seen that pretty early on. as anon listed above, Oscar shows his affection for people by including them when he talks about his life (which Lando also gets!) also acts of service and signs of respect (which Lando also gets!)
this is me projecting here but idk the way Oscar talks about the boarding school guys he's still friends with and his friends back in Oz but doesn't post about them or have them to many races just makes me think that Oscar decided very early on to just avoid the distraction of sharing himself on social media apart from memes? he's never wanted to establish any kind of online persona and he got really solid a levels as a backup in engineering if F1 didn't work out so he's never planned to be a public person anyway.
where I'm going w that is that Lando will absolutely by now have learned all of this about Oscar. Oscar will like and respond to content about Lando but most of what Lando gets from him will be the acts of service and signs of respect. which is exactly what Oscar does with Lily, his family, Mark, etc. Oscar's own content will be about generically positive stuff re McLaren and the occasional funny post (like P1,P2,P6?). but the people he considers his most inner circle will stay largely off the map. which lbr is what Lando himself does with a lot of his closest friends! especially since his fame began to grow he's stopped posting a lot of those people and we only hear them bc he mentions seeing them. Lando is Oscar's little long harbored 'crush' and Lily is his long term gf. I feel like if that's obvious to us then it def will be for Lando :)
so we can count ourselves incredibly lucky that Lando being Oscar's teammate means we get as much of a window in on them as we do <3

I think part of the problem is how they seem to interpret media, in that they aren't particularly curious or interested in truly delving into the themes of the story, or would rather impose their own expectations and themes onto the story in the most unambiguous way possible.
The only part of the "story" they consider legitimate is whatever is so blatantly in your face that they can't possibly miss or ignore it, and basically dismiss anything that doesn't explicitly tell them everything. Background details, taking past character motivations and the fact that everyone is an unreliable narrator to varying degrees...
Any oddities in details are not something to provoke them into actually thinking about prior information, but instead "plotholes" because they don't neatly fit into a comfortable narrative. Any dissonance between actions and words is treated as being out of character rather than possibly highlighting hypocrisy and something more nuance and complex.
In essence, they treat RWBY as something that failed to indulge them and their own perceptions of what it "should" be, rather than critically taking a hard look at what it's trying to actually show and tell them.
I also saw a lot of people just making terrible takes about the characters and their motivations purely out of seemingly nowhere, but especially when there was conflict among Team RWBY. Like in the earlier volumes when we don't know Blake is a faunus a lot of people said they hated her and that they didn't like her, and in volume 3 I saw people say she "makes everything about herself" and is just selfish and doesn't "care about team RWBY". Which are all things that I just couldn't agree with especially considering that while Blake doesn't have a lot of songs just for her (because the show is generous and spends so much time with her struggles) I thought her character was really easy to understand.
She's a victim of abuse and has trust issues, and is also a victim of discrimination based on her ethnicity (if thats what you wanna call the faunus I guess), so I thought it made sense for her to be just a bit "cagey" and closed off from the others. It makes her development with Yang and the moments she becomes friends with Sun so much better because we finally see her getting to trust people after leaving Adam behind.
Also in Volume 7 and 8 when people were saying "yang doesn't care about Ruby" because they had ONE disagreement about how to solve what was a pretty difficult situation T_T I don't know how anyone could say that with songs like "Gold" which is literally about how Yang and Ruby are close and how Yang is always there for her. (it even has matronly lyrics like "I will keep you safe and warm/ like the smell of a rose on a summer's day." Which is a direct reference to ruby's actual mother.

I'm a huge WFA fan and I can see why people have issues with the entire Batman family of comics but... it's not just that it's fluff. (many limited and even a few potentially ongoing series are fluff and humor, and they sell notoriously poorly)
webtoons are free. that's the biggest one. you can't compare 'sales' of a free thing to something that costs money, and especially not something that, at this point, costs kind of a lot of money compared to most people's fun money
webtoons are weekly. it's a lot easier to remember something that happens weekly than something that happens once a month, and most people aren't buying enough comics for that to become consistently weekly, or they're subscribing to services (or pirating) in a way that isn't time bound in the same way. something that happens the same day every week is easier
they're shorter, more standalone, and formatted to scroll through on phones (and it's harder to read comics on a phone than a physical copy, and awkward on a computer). most people use their phones for most of their media, and even people who don't have the phone if they want to take a quick break and look at a short story that's up there. you don't have to read all of them and you don't have to read them in order (except for a few multi-part stories) and it's not as much of a time commitment. but it's still easy to read many in a row without getting bogged down in details or having to cross-reference anything
WFA is an isolated story. not only is there no required background reading (altho there's lots that can be gotten out of it if you do have that background) there's also no crossovers or extensive references that expect you to have been following other stories, sometimes lots of other stories
consistency. there's only one team, which means there's a standardized art style with continuous character references, and the writing style is maintained in the same way. so if you like it you'll generally like all of it. comics can't keep the same artist across multiple titles, and shouldn't keep the same writer. but even within a single title, the B story can be extremely different in tone, scope, topic, etc. than the A story. and switching between stories quickly can give a reader whiplash, wondering why last month's ended so abruptly and this month's is something completely unrelated in a totally different register
WFA is also marketed towards women/in feminine social contexts, because way more women than men read webcomics. so they pick attitudes and topics considered more traditionally feminine, because comics are thought of as a masculine pastime. only the thing is women are actually a larger portion of the readership than men for literally everything, because women just read way more than men do, for a few decades now. also, regardless of market share and targeted advertising... having used the webtoon app, the way they advertise based on reading history and subscriptions makes perfect sense and is easy to use. the way that DC markets its comics is. not
circulation is also a huge one. it's way easier to share a single funny panel out of context than a single deeply emotional one. and while humor writers still tend to understand that you need more serious moments to keep the humor fresh, it's increasingly harder to convince people that serious things need the occasional comic relief for the emotional impact to really hit. this is a problem with art reception but it's way more complicated than the topics people do or don't like to see.
what I'm saying is if you made something free, weekly, standalone, starting at the beginning, with a talented and consistent writing and art team, dealing with issues they actually understood and that spoke to their audience, with large dramatic no dialogue panels that were simply beautiful and poignant to look at interspersed through the story, with characters who were already world famous and popular, it would also have a huge audience. angst/drama can absolutely be done that way, and is the reason that soap operas have remained such an appealing form to such a large audience.
plenty of people who are perfectly nice and fun people prefer angst over fluff. plenty of people like angst and fluff equally. plenty of people can't stand too much of one if they don't get any of the other and need to maintain a balance between them. it doesn't say anything about the majority of the audience or who wants what out of which fiction. you're going apple picking and pointing to everyone's apples and asserting that clearly people never liked oranges in the first place.

alright I'm gonna go on a slightly petty sub4hibi rant that will probably only make sense to like 2 people here but has been sitting in my head for a while (if you haven't read it then. some spoilers ahead!)
posting here instead of twitter 'cause I know some friends and people that follow me there (but not here) that really like the ship I'm about to...definitely not hate on but maybe be a bit critical of and though I know perfectly well those in question can take criticism and the like perfectly fine nobody really wants to randomly have crit, or even just opinions they don't agree with of their faves thrown at them (so if any of you ever see this post in the future I promise that's the only reason why)
ANYWAY sca-di went on the usual art reblog and it made me think about how I'm a little bit bitter at the popularity of Takuji/Kimika. It's a ship I myself like, I think it's definitely interesting and I support it, but to put it plainly I mostly like it for its impact on Kimika's character more than anything else. Her ending and the way she talks to Takuji about her insecurities is great and it gives a lot of insight into her character, plus it's nice to see her sort of get brief bit of happiness in a bittersweet ending. However I still prefer Kimika/Zakuro by a LONG shot and it makes me sad that it doesn't get as much attention
I've gone on a bit about Kimika's relations to Takuji and especially Zakuro so I can see why it's more popular from a narrative perspective. Many of us love the grimdark shit because it's a hell of a lot more interesting and compared to happy sunshiney things, and well...EoS definitely ends on a much happier note than the main narrative does for Kimika. I love a good angsty narrative myself but what I like even better is a complex relationship between two women who have great chemistry together and BOY did this story deliver well on that. But anyway in general I would think most readers of this VN are chasing some of the more philosophical and dramatic components than a happy gay ending. Plus, by proxy of being Tomosane's brother Mamiya is relevant for the whole story, as opposed to poor Zakuro who loses relevance to the latter events fairly early in (most) routes. Why wouldn't a ship involving him get more attention?
And herein I touch upon a bit less hypothetical criticism and more my personal thoughts on the matter. I don't really have the authority to say anything on the matter between the differences between Western and Eastern fandom approaches to the VN but regardless...I see soooo much fanart of Kimika with Takuji and so little of her with Zakuro. It exists, but I could probably count the amount I've seen on one hand (and one of those was drawn for me by a friend!). And it makes me a little sad because I love them so much. Like I said, people aren't reading the story for the gay parts (and if they are, they're braver than any US marine tbh) but it saddens me that one might pass over this ship because they got a happy ending in a single route.
And like...not to be that guy but you can't always disconnect your biases from what you consume. In this case, I'm referring to what appears to be a VERY heterosexual Western fandom. Which is kind of funny to me, considering that the narrative engages in some very interesting choices that aren't tackled too often in m/f stories (but often enough in hentai and other media I suppose). Especially since the game literally starts and ends with homoeroticism if you go back to Down the Rabbit Hole 1 after you finish the game. Regardless, the narrative as a whole really shies away from making any of these yuri relationships lasting or being meaningful (aside from Yuki/Zakuro, arguably). None of them are connected to the main plot and Kimika/Zakuro has zero chance of happening in the canon endings. And then of course there's the constant casual stereotypes ("but we're both girls!" and Yuki's dad, though funnily enough I think it's kinda nice that nobody questioned his sexuality or where Yuki came from) and the constant use of the f slur. All of which may make those who are still sort of uncomfortable with gay content feel "soothed" in a way and still enjoy it. Not to say you can't be an ally and still love the gay ships in this VN but given the intensity of the subject matter, you've gotta have a mind and stomach made of STEEL to get through a good portion of it, ESPECIALLY if you're gay. And unless you're already into VNs and/or enjoy this kind of intense subject matter then it's probably hard as FUCK to get past IMOI.
ALL of this to say that I feel like a big part of the reason there's so little attention to the gay ships is that there's simply...no gay fandom. At least visibly. I was of course being facetious when I mentioned in my post the other day about the fandom being only me and 4 other gay people but I personally haven't seen a lot of discussion of the Gay elements from those who aren't part of the LGBTQ community. I'm sure it happens in places that aren't so public or easily accessible but aside from little pockets on twitter I'm under the impression that there's not a hell of a lot of us who talk about it openly. And it's not hard to see why; take a look at the reactions to this satirical post by @girlwhodeceivesfate! Some are more open than others but those top comments say something about those who bothered to open the post. And many seem annoyed that anyone could possibly have a queer focus.
This went off topic from the specifics very quickly but anyway...of course shipping isn't the main purpose of any of these narratives but I'll be real with y'all. Even though I liked the main story enough Kimika and her relationship with Zakuro were the things I liked most about this VN, so. Longwinded point is that I get why there's not a lot of content for them compared to the other ship but it still disappoints me.
it's past 5:30am and I need to simmer the fuck down so if anyone actually made it through this all the way to the end, well done! you've made it through my messy unedited sleepy ramblings

Before reading this, I would like to say that i am an ally to the LGBT+ community, and that I fully support representation in the Pokemon Series.
But
Unless the game outright says what the character is, I honestly think that problem I see with this situation is that there's so many people who want to head canon characters like Penny and Rika a particular way because they don't feel represented enough in the series.
I can understand and agree that there should be more representation in Pokemon; Scarlet/Violet seems to be going in the right direction, I think that people need to not so strongly consider their head canons canon, to the point that they'll only see them as fact.
Hey there! I appreciate the civil way you went about constructing yourself here, I audibly groaned when I saw this as most people that comment on my posts and the like completely take me out of context or are straight up bigots, so I appreciate someone who knows how to construct themself. I assume you're referring to the last part of my post that states, "Penny is trans, and I rest my case" I would like to clarify that that was a joke as a way to bring levity to the situation as this kind of thing, as a trans person, brings a lot out of me.
However I would like to discuss your view of why you think it's a problem that some people see their headcanons as canon. So, for most people, saying a headcanon is canon is a joke. It's not something to actually be taken seriously, it's merely someone being hyperbolic about it. But disregarding even that, I would also like to say, that for trans people, (especially trans women), the fact that pokemon would include them at all in representation is a near nonexistent reality. I'd say it's also pretty unlikely for us trans men too.
I can count on three fingers the amount of times I've been represented as a trans guy in media, one of which wasn't a main character, the second of which wasn't even good representation, and the third of which is actually really good representation (shoutout Barney from de:pp.) As for trans women, besides from de:pp as well, and it's not even obvious at that, most representation I've seen for them is outright harmful and discriminatory.
So if someone wants to see their headcanon as canon, and it's not a joke, as long as it's not harming someone I don't see the problem. Especially when genuine representation of these groups is either not going to happen period, or won't happen for another several years. Most people have the self-awareness to understand that even if they strongly want to believe a character is a certain thing, they know they aren't actually that thing.
And even if you do see someone spreading the information that Penny is actually, canonically trans, it's going to be in the minority and people should always do their own research when it comes to these things. I myself would not support such a thing but I don't even see it as something to really be worried about. It's not something you need to worry about a whole portion of the community spreading, it'd be a case-by-case basis.
So, to conclude, if people believe their headcanons are canon they are either joking or it's harmless anyway so who really cares. Unless they are genuinely spreading the headcanon as fact, which is almost certain to be an isolated issue, so deal with it accordingly. Lastly, of course I would much rather there be actual trans characters in pokemon, but because that is a very unlikely reality, this is all we really have. And whether it's factual or not, as long as no one is being genuinely misinformed, just let us have fun. (End was not meant to be aggressive, since I know reading comprehension on this site is dogshit.)

Me
there are things that i'm feeling, an opinion that has been building up and i'm not sure if i can think that way. to be scared id be considered as stupid or extreme or else
we discard feelings entirely when things like this happen. it's all about expressing something that is primal, whether it's rage or disgust or anger or deny, etc.
Him
My French landlady at the pub is annoyed that the British don't know how to rise up.
But yes what is happening is awful
18:53 what do you consider awful? please tell me.
Him We were just discussing it in the pub. How the French government aren't giving an inch and referring to rioters as mutinous vermin. Crazy. Our government would still flounce around the issue but not openly say things like that.
19:03 It's not telling what your opinion actually is.
Him I'm not sure what my opinion is! It's just sad. There isn't very much about it in the news here. Perhaps they don't want us to be inspired.
The French have always been better at protesting for their rights than us. We just made protesting illegal.
19:08 That's a very fair answer. Few words but i thank you. The thing is that i don't accept these riots. Not because i don't think they're legitimate but because, well, i think two things are already being accepted: that the rioters fell into complete disgrace from the population, or at least a large part. Destruction in all its forms are not acceptable, even within the most legitimate combat. Especially today and i do think social media played a part in the spreading of the violence. Because it's not Paris only, it's Marseille, it's Lyon, it's everywhere. The second thing is that the government let a situation that was brewing, immigrants that witnessed how they were let down generation after generation after they've been welcomed so well after the war.. The rioters are for the most part children of these generations. Their fight is legitimate. Factually and i'll try to stay on facts only, how it blew up in our face, after a teenager got killed by a policeman - and factually, even the initial tragedy is filled with ambiguous components which puts me in the situation of saying "yes BUT", how it's raging right now reaches such a level of wrong that i cannot fathom my anger. And that anger stands against both sides. I don't accept that the rioters destroyed dozens of infrastructures, the very same structures that welcome them - and there are people that welcome and help them if they feel let down. They have been ravaging the entire system that makes a city function as a city, a society. Stores are material, it's not much upon reflection. But i cannot but reflect that stores mean business, it means giving people employement and the security of leading a normal life, not asking more. Most people don't ask the world, they just want to survive too. The rioters pose as victims, creating more victims of the system. And obviously, my dear government is not willing to do anything towards helping anyone. It's like a candle burning from both sides and i, because this is how my life is right now, is standing right in the middle. Just like most people. And it's bloody scary. It's fucking unbelievingly frightening. That my government, which saw it coming years ago, didn't act anything into helping the people. By people i mean everyone, every single one of us. This is my true feeling, that the government put so much effort into disaggregating the system little by little, every social aspect of our lives. The government is so much accountable from every decision it took over the years. But on the same side, the rioters, young, benevolent if they're guided well, display such cruelty in their actions, because nothing is left behind, they destroyed town halls, stores, public transports, police cars, firetrucks… schools, libraries, pharmacies etc. They freed animals, lions have been spotted. It's not anarchy. I'd go on a limb and say this is not how anarchy looks like. They're not doing for the good of the people, well that is hard to believe but at the same time, i am not able to hear anything from them, what do they think. Destruction brings chaos. They didn't march side by side to protest about the killing of a teenager, and i know it's a very concerning subject, but sacking stores and burning schools are not helping them, it won't help anyone, it will bring more chaos until darkness falls. My then question is: what is the purpose of all this? What will happen after?
Him It will all blow over…. eventually.
19:37 And to be honest, some things suggest that they will come after people, and they already started. Mayor's spouse got attacked during the night, taking her young children outisde, breaking her own leg, after rioters pushed a burning car into their house. And this is the breaking point to me. You don't get to hurt innocent people when you're angry at the system. And i mean children. A baby got hurt with shard of glasses.
Him That's fucking terrible.
19:40 It breaks my spirit so hard. I see people on the net, friends and so on who go on with their lives. My sister says to that "i cannot stop living because of what they do". And she's right but i cannot stop thinking that we should. We should be worried. About the way they achieved it. About the way the government showed nothing but disdain, claiming - you're going to love this - that video games are part of the problem. Well, you know what? Even if what Macron said that, which is the stupidest thing he has ever said, visions of riots are the same as in video games. But it's a consequence, not a cause. He's a horrible man. Incomprehension is running wild. It's how you define chaos you know? Chaos is the ultimate form of when you lost control over a situation. In that case, it has been brewing for years.
Him That's a way of looking at it. The gilet jaune thing went on for a long time, and that was a few years back
19:44 The government is responsible. You blame the government, not the people living in the place where the government acts (or doesn't act), you don't get to hurt the firemen who are exhausted to break fires.
Him
The French police force has become incredibly militarised over the last few years. That much has been clear. Perhaps losing compassion in the process.
19:46 Very true. But compassion goes in both ways. For a certain amount of police brutality, there is an equally amount of hurt from people. People hurt people, whether they wear a helmet or not. And leftists cannot tell right wingers compassion is getting low and vice versa. Because signs of violence are everywhere, things that noone can quantify.
Him Civil war in France?
19:50 I dare to have a say now, with you, because it's aching my stomach, and i know you may have some distance to it or perhaps another perspective, indirect but it's still a perspective. A part of the population may be angry now but they don't have the monopole of expressing themselves that way because the way it went so far are apparently opportunistic disruptions such as once again sacking businesses, destroying the forms of education and else; it also leads to more and yes i can say it here - thank you! much less compassion therefore less understanding. i'm done for now, thank you reading me. it's been a trying statement. tomorrow i will think things differently or with an updated mind, as always.

I love these! (Doing and asking :) 🙅‍♀️ 🤔 🏅☀️
Grrr. Tumblr ate the mostly written post because of course it did. Thank you for asking, Mia 💕 These were really fun to answer (and also hard). For someone who's really her worst critic, I do enjoy talking about my process and whatnot. I'm sorry in advance for all the rambling.
(If you want to ask me more, the questions are here ✨ )
🙅‍♀️ What is one trope you refuse to ever write?
I just don't see myself doing incest or bestiality. If we're talking more general things, I can't see myself writing cheating (with the asterisk of this being one member of the couple straying, and that there are possible situations where I wouldn't mind). Also, anything extremely violent, mostly because it's not something I often consume in media.
🤔 What’s one genre you’ve never written that you’d like to try?
Oh, maybe action and/or suspense? My writing style (intimate moments, conversations, just vibes) is not the most compatible, but if the situation arose... Sure! (I guess that, in a past life, I wrote around mysteries and crime and whatnot. I was too young then 😬 )
I also would love to be better at writing stories-within-stories. I absolutely do not have the talent to convincingly seem like the talented writers I'm doing. (Once again thinking of the fluffy memoir fic. And another one, which has a super fun premise, but my writing is failing it with this aspect, I fear.)
And not a genre specifically but collaboration? Again, I have super talented friends. I'd stick out like a sore thumb. I think it'd be fun!
🏅 What is the fic you’re most proud of?
I am my own worst critic but I would still probably say all of them, maybe? I saw something in them that I thought might connect with others and that's why they're out there. Even the ones that aren't (so many of them) and might never see the light of day. Writing isn't easy. It makes me nervous and makes me crave validation.
Anyway. The pageant answer is still true but as for actual ones, but using the way I would mentally refer to them, lol.
Big Block of Cheese 2008. I just saw it's at almost 100 kudos... excuse me what. I just felt it was something special from the moment I wrote it. I think I always would've posted it at some point, even if I hadn't made friends. None of my fics come close to it in terms of "love" and tbh, I'm fine with it.
St. Augustine. Just because it came to me so fast (I think it was mostly written in a morning?) and IDK, I love the scene. This one has broken out from most of my other purely CJD stories, whether it was timing or it getting recommended by the right people. It was nerve wracking writing something pre-canon but I think it went well! It was fun to write. I haven't read it in forever so I reserve the right to remove it from the list.
Obviously, star shine started it all but if I had a third spot... Portland. It's probably one of my flops (everything is, but this one especially) and yet. I recall being so proud right after I finished it and wanting people to read it. (It obviously grew since then because I can't shut up.) It's long, maybe unnecessarily so, but god does it get to me. I was in a writing rut (see next answer) and challenged myself to write 'canon' stories, and I think the two are good.
But... To be honest, the answer has to be my unposted multichapter. I always think it's bad until I read it, and it kinda hits, all imperfections aside. 150k words in 5-and-a-bit months (26/3 to 2/9?), 33 chapters. I wrote 2/3 of that in two months (with 19 being the last one I wrote before 19/5), until my muse decided she was done and I decided to actually change jobs. (I also wrote now-published fics like haunted by the notion or don't want you to go, as well as a bunch of other smaller ones, in between! WTF was I on in 2021? I think the mini reunion altered my brain chemistry.) I've considered just dropping a link to the unedited, unbetaed drive on the server one day, ngl.
ANYWAY. Too long-winded!
☀️ Has anyone ever left you a comment that made your day? What did it say?
UM. All of them? real talk here, I don't get many comments so I love them all. I write for a show that ended 17 years ago, for a small (and surprisingly divisive) ship (their loss - there's so much talent) so I should've known going in. It took me some time to internalize it. I'm also not that good a writer, so I'll take it. Comments mean the world to me, even if it's a "lovely" or "great job." Just taking a few seconds means a lot and writers aren't kidding when they say it's motivating. It's also how I've made friends in the fandom so yeah! comments!
To highlight some rather recent ones!
Haunted by the notion got so many from so different people, and they were all so incredibly nice when I was terrified. All of those broke me, and might be the reason why I've been struggling with a followup! (And why I've been wanting to post again soon, rather than wait.) From the other stories, I have two ~recent ones~ I actually bookmarked because they broke me.
miabicicletta's (💕 ) on St. Augustine. I woke up on a Saturday and I remember reading it from bed and crying. It was so incredibly kind and lovely and I couldn't remember the last time anyone had written anything as long. I still think about it all the time. 🥂 (I've now realized Steph also wrote another lovely one ♥️ That story and the love it got, man.)
krazykitkat's on all's well + her comment on St. Augustine because her stories are some of my favorites. I couldn't believe that someone whose work I adored and have read countless times since I finished the show six years ago had read one of my stories, but had liked it???? Didn't compute. Doesn't compute. She's read many since (see St. Augustine, the most recent one), commented and left kudos on a bunch, and it still... blows my mind. (This one happened while I was flying back from Stockholm and was the first thing I saw when I landed.)
But really - so many people have left so many kind messages over the last couple of years, and I've probably gotten emotional at all of them. That there are people out there who are reading the silly little stories that have come out of my brain... wonders never cease.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with reading wikipedia, especially in cases where there aren't a ton of resources to learn about certain subjects in a language you understand. I know how hard it can be to do research on the 3k era if you don't know Chinese, even in our modern age of information. And of course, Chinese is particularly difficult to learn for native speakers of most, if not all European languages because it's so radically different.
However, I DO think we need to better broadcast the idea that not only is wikipedia not always correct, but it is often very biased and gate-kept by the people who write and contribute to articles about particular subjects. I hardly ever hear anyone talk about that and it worries me even more than things just straight up being inaccurate specifically *because* no one ever talks about it. I saw a post with thousands of notes going around saying wikipedia is unbiased and it just. Yeah. It often isn't.
My best advice would be to check sources if you can (although I know for 3k related stuff the references are often in untranslated Chinese, and even if you do put them in a translation app, you'll often get something inaccurate or at least a lot of the nuance will be lost). Try to consider how information is being framed, who's framing it, and what they could potentially gain from framing it that way (that's a good tip for media literacy as well). If sources are older, usually I go by 10 or 20 year intervals, perhaps look to see if there's anything more modern that may better reflect our current understanding of the subject.
For example, the first full translation of ro3k into English was published in 1925. The translator deserves kudos for being the first, but there have been multiple translations completed since then that are much truer to the source material, and some that have addendums or foot notes that explain things that would normally be lost on most western audiences that are important to understanding the text.
Basically 'go ahead and read wikipedia but read it very, very critically, and try to diversify the sources you get your info from if possible'. There's a growing movement to make academic and otherwise informative literature more readily available both to the general public and to other researchers, because traditionally academic publishers often charge out the nose for the honor of getting to read a single paper, sometimes only giving you access to it for 24 hours or 7 days unless you pay extra. Websites like researchgate, refseek, and the Internet Archive are some of my favorites. Internet Archive's side-project Open Library and Project Gutenberg also have tons of free ebooks, often for books that would otherwise be difficult to find or expensive to purchase. Your local library also often has resources for doing research.

Web 3.0 and Illusions of Community
The internet has gifted us with many incredible little things, from a vast access to knowledge we previously did not have, to giving voice enough to any group of people who might need to express their opinions, to the discovery (and often rediscovery) of lost cultural and subcultural gems of the past, ranging from games, books, music to even things like architecture that's been photographed, but has been forgotten and destroyed with time. It is virtually impossible to not be impacted positively by the internet in this day and age.
However, it has also negatively impacted us a lot, in ways that at this point it's even redundant to explore, since one of the prime exports of the web is (and always has been) controversy, intrigue and gossip: everyone wants to complain. Even though bitterness is one of my least favorite emotions, I want to add a bit to that, or at least elaborate my own version of it in a way that is more than 280 characters battling for a spot in the limelight. One of my most recent pet peeves has been with the way online communities have been discussing and forming themselves.
It is easy to push and shove communities commonly cringed at, but my problem is less with the communities or the pople in them in themselves, and more with the way discussion, elaboration and taste have been produced and reproduced. I think the biggest example for me is Rate Your Music, which is, architecturally, the most ideal site for me, a space to discover, rate and display your opinion in any way you want, with specificity of description in mind. Though a few tweaks could be made (some bugs and glitches, especially, are pretty annoying, and there are still more descriptors and genre-tags that could or should've been added have been rejected multiple times, while others that do not display any historical relevance of any kind remain on the site), the site is, in concept, pretty solid. That goes a bit off the tracks when you consider the community
That isn't to say there aren't any good people in the community, and some of them might even engage in some of this behavior, hell, even I have engaged in this behavior a few times (though I try to keep it to a minimum), but the reductive, often hive-minded self replication of contrarianism, memes and references are so often an annoying feature of the site's netsystem that it grinds my gears and teeth down a smatter of nothingness. It is not that people aren't allowed to be funny and jokey in online spaces, but rather that the website has successfully transformed many of its users' behaviors into copies of copies of parodies of themselves. You will often see "The TPAB of insert genre" inserted into comment boxes ad infinitum, which is not only an unfunny joke at this point, but generally a show of the limitation of the scope of references that these people create for such people.
That doesn't only happen with jokes, it also happens with discussions. While video essayists like Maggie Mae Fish, hbomberguy and Dan Olson have tried taking a nuanced approach to media analysis, the video essay format has also reached a peak of saturation since 2018 and 2019, with videos like Max Derrat's video on Metal Gear Solid 2 being examples of how shallow the analysis of pieces of media can be in the format, while giving off an illusion of deep or complex content by way of editing and confident speech. It becomes a problem when talking about your passions has been reduced to a centimeter-deep dip into saying something of little to no substance. And that is the thing, I don't doubt for a second that at least for some of these people the passion is genuinely there, the desire to actually talk about these great pieces of media and creative thinking is probably there, but the Web 3.0 space limits it deeply.
I'm not one to say that the past was better: I did not live in the past, and plenty of people who lived in it say it was abhorrent. That does not mean, however, that the present is any good, or even better, it could just be different, and that difference, at least in the sense of creative production and creative discussion, is pretty awful.
A post-technocapitalist-neo-neoliberal (or whatever point of late-stage capitalist hellscape we live in) society can only be detrimental to the creation and discussion of creation, where desire has to be limited to the span of a one minute video (and that is not a jab at every tiktok creator, Baron Ryan is a great example of a creator who uses the format to their benefit), or a 280 character personal microblog post, for the sole purpose of marketability.
And marketability of what? Abstract concepts of human community? What community can exist when the Self that is found in Otherness, in recognition of difference, as opposed to the reflection of a photocopied photorealisticfied smattering of random, non-intentional, A.I. chosen colors? What culture or subculture can exist when the idea of fandom is solely found in the discussion of who your favorite blorbo is, and not why, or how they became of your favorite? "Well, can't you say that?" Of course not! It is a waste of the limited amount of posts I can do today, or the perfectly curated version of myself (which is not a facet of myself, but rather a flattening of my many facets, easy to consume, serve to the digital 7/11 sweatshop) might be harmed by such vanities!
One of the many reasons why fandoms do not appeal to me is that they are generally flattened. The passion might be there, but the transcritption of that love is forever hidden, with only a few very talented creatives doing incredible work, that is sometimes put under the same style as everyone, either because it's easier to find resources that teach that style, or because it's more palatable. Either way, the free marketplace of ideas has spoken, and they can only hope that pennies will fly their way if they don't do what is conventional, or get to the new trend before everyone else.
That's not to say that these people don't genuinely find joy and whimsy in these styles, or types of discussions. Many of them are adults, capable of critical thought, and quite often they are either well read, or very intelligent and lovely people, who have thought about this stuff, but still are glad to be sharing these types of spaces and discussions, and I'm happy for them for that. But the ones that haven't really thought about it, who just live by inertia, remind me of the often grim reality that actual community is not really something possible in the web 3.0 that breeds itself, that creates its own replicas by way of commercializing the human experience.

I thought your comment comparing COVID to the AIDS crisis was very interesting.
I lived through the AIDS crisis. It happened during and right after I graduated from nursing school. And of course, I wound up getting ME/CFS.
Something important to realize: people with HIV were and are far less disabled than people with Long COVID or ME/CFS. Especially these days, when essentially HIV disease is a controllable chronic illness. Back then, it was usually only the last year of illness that really laid people out. So they could form a huge and very militant movement, especially when people who were HIV positive but not yet having symptoms were the majority of AIDS activists.
People with Long COVID and ME/CFS are nowhere near able to do what the old AIDS activists did. Also, in the developed world, AIDS was primarily a disease of men, whereas 80% of people with ME/CFS and probably 60 -70% of people with Long COVID are women. Complaining of just those problems like exhaustion and pain that are most likely to be dismissed by physicians.
Any movement building around Long COVID has to take this into account.
(Previous post that was referred to in the ask here: [Link] )
Hi! First of all, thank you for responding to my post, thinking it had any merit, and for your perspective. (Also, thank you for whatever work you were able to do to help people as a nurse during the crisis; truly invaluable.) I feel like I won't be able to compose a very coherent response, but I'll try!!!
That's. Really scary!!!!!! To hear that some aspects at least of the current pandemic are worse or more of a challenge than the AIDS crisis!!! I hadn't considered before the difference in ability of post-infection before. I know not everyone post-covid has obvious symptoms and problems right away, but the propaganda has been really effective and makes them think that there isn't a problem at all. (I've heard before that during the AIDS crisis there were people who would think that because their initial HIV infection was mild they were in the clear, so that makes me wonder if it was to the same extent, or what ended up happening there.) I guess maybe for a movement to happen, more people who aren't already sick have to care, which is difficult because of the propaganda and attitudes in society around individualism. I think one positive thing is that I've heard stories that suggest there is a certain percentage of people who do care once they learn that covid is both A. as much still here as it was before, and B. dangerous in ways they didn't even know about (though they should also care about the more commonly known danger to already disabled people), they're just so ignorant and in the dark due to the government and media covering it up. Maybe grassroots information campaigns would be a good place to start, make some posters to put up or something. I could probably make some posters...
I hadn't heard that gender statistic about long covid before. It's always seemed to me like a lot of medical statistics that have to do with internal experiences like pain and fatigue are weighted more towards women vs men, which I always wondered if it was due to society liking to tell men not to admit to any 'weaknesses', and research about long covid isn't as robust as it should be, but who knows maybe that is just the case for some reason. If that is true I can see what you mean about it being an obstacle for anyone perceived as a woman's pain to be taken seriously, and also people of colour, since covid disproportionally affects people of colour due to class structure reasons. Though also, during the AIDS crisis when it was gay and trans people, a lot of doctors didn't even want to touch them or be in the same room as them.
Anyways! Thank you again very much for what you had to say, I think it's very valuable. I'll tag this post so that maybe some other people who would be interested in reading it can see it. Hope you have a good evening/morning/day!

Cryptocurrency: Expectation VS Reality
Tumblr media
Virtual resources that use cryptography (encryption) as a type of safety are known as digital currencies.
A couple of the most recent digital currencies likewise work to offer principles or obligations for its holder and trade labor and products.
They have no natural worth since they can't be traded for another item, including gold. Likewise, they dislike normal money in light of the fact that an administration authority doesn't deliver them.
Early clients generally use digital currencies as of now. About a portion of the 10 million individuals who own Bitcoin do so exclusively as advanced money ventures.
Digital forms of money aren't required for the long run in light of the effectiveness of government issued money upheld by the public authority. Numerous cryptographic money clients simply think about the expected benefits of utilizing a digital currency.
Subsequently, mass reception of digital forms of money will possibly happen in the event that there is a verifiable benefit.
Becoming rich overnight:
Expectations: Many believe cryptocurrency trading can bring significant profits, especially when compared to things like forex. If you look at something like social media from the outside, you can see people posting pictures of their expected results, some ridiculous and thousands a day. I'm making it. Yes, but most of these screenshots are in fake or demo accounts. Some people can make a lot of money, and we mean a lot, but these cases are far rarer than they look or what you say.
Reality: There are some big wins and some massive wins. Especially if you can catch one of the cryptocurrencies in one of the prominent and long trends, the problem is that you have to take many risks to make a lot of money. The more you trade, the more you earn, but the more you trade, the more you can lose. Those who make big money either have huge bankrolls or are more risky than necessary in each transaction and can quickly lose everything instead of making a profit. Yes, winning can be significant, but getting it involves many risks.
Cryptocurrency means Bitcoin only:
Expectations: Bitcoin is a prominent cryptocurrency in the mainstream media and the first thing most people think of when referring to cryptocurrencies. Many people who do not trade forex, either because they do not know others or because it is the most popular, consider Bitcoin the only cryptocurrency available for trading. Fortunately, this is not just the case.
Reality: When it comes to cryptocurrencies, there are many tradable assets, coins, and tokens. Many brokers are now starting to offer crypto trading, and even those specializing in it will pop up. These brokers provide more than Bitcoin to trade. Some of them currently offer over 30 different pairs and cryptocurrencies. The number continues to grow, as does the industry. Bitcoin is the most popular and traded, but there are many options if you want to try another trade.
Cryptocurrency is a secured platform:
Expectations: Many newcomers believe that cryptocurrencies can be stored on desktops, phones, virtual wallets, or hardware wallets, so they are as secure as money in a bank account. This couldn't be far from the truth. Fiat money, which all crypto enthusiasts want to discuss, has some positive qualities: B. May be insured and protected by banks. It used to be very rare (and becoming rare) unless a third party insures your cipher and unless you own and/or control your key Cryptography is about as secure as an online password. And for some, it's not at all safe for now.
Reality: Cryptocurrencies are digital and often targeted by hackers and criminals because their wallets and keys are connected to the internet. However, there is no central authority, which is one reason why cryptography is so popular, so it is not authorized to protect the user's funds or insure the user if something happens. Also means. Hackers can take advantage of backdoors and common vulnerabilities. It is not uncommon to steal funds or break into exchanges. Research is essential here as well. Ask yourself. Have the wallets and exchanges you want to store ciphers been targeted in the past, compromised, or do you provide a top-notch security infrastructure?
The market is hard to get into:
Expectations: A few years ago, it was tough to buy cryptocurrencies. You had to purchase through a third party or directly from the owner. It was difficult, expensive, and risky. No one can guarantee it. If you buy a coin, you will receive it after payment. At some point, I had to buy the actual currency, but fortunately, it's no longer the case. The good news is that as infrastructure and technology improve, it's not that hard to get into.
Reality: Cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more accessible to almost everyone. When it comes to trading coins, the h-accounts you open only require a deposit of $ 10, so people aren't overpriced anymore. Many brokers offer it. From well-known major brokers to new, more specialized brokers dedicated to crypto trading, some brokers can start without everything in KYC. All the time now. If you want to start crypto trading, it's straightforward and swift.
Conclusion:
Those are only a portion of the distinctions between the assumptions and the real factors of what individuals think and what is. The premises are often seen through things like web-based entertainment or the news, which frequently just gets a portion of the image; when you begin exchanging, you will observe that things are unique. A few things will likely be comparable; however, it is essential to come into it with a rational brain and no assumptions latched onto your subconscious mind, which could prompt frustration.

Story time? Idk I don't tend to write posts but I felt like saying this. It took me 23 years to even consider I might be autistic just because of how accepting everyone around me is and thinking about it makes me feel like crying.
My friends defend me to random people when I stim or make weird noises. Like "oh yeah she might ask you to touch your jacket/phonecase/whatever if it's a nice texture but she's cool, don't worry". Also they 100% understand I will not show up to grand majority of parties and events bc I hate the lights and noise and crowds. I've had a noticeable stim for months now and a total of 2 people asked about it and when I said "yea it's just sth I do, sorry" they shrugged it off and talked about other stuff. Not to mention that everyone *lets me* touch their stuff and they don't get upset when I say stuff way too directly or randomly make a noise somewhere where I shouldn't or get annoyed when I misunderstand stuff or say the wrong things.
My partner doesnt even blink when I ask him to leave me the heck alone because I can't handle being touched at the moment and he will talk to me through messages if I can't say sth. If I get too overwhelmed or absorbed into an activity and don't do chores, he will never get upset and will mostly do them for me. He listens to all the random weird info I collect (helps that he does it too I guess) and never makes me do anything I don't want (but nt people see it as the most normal things).
Even my parents, who did a lot of things wrong mind you, never told me to quiet down or "stop being weird". When I decided that I dislike how gendered our language is and started mixing male and female words when referring to myself (it's not like changing pronouns, think language like german where every word is gendered), they just started doing it too. Dressing in male, female, or 50 year old clothing, whatever, I was never asked to wear or not wear anything, or do an activity I had issues with or stop doing one I liked even if it was childish or odd.
I think everyone around me suspected something was off but since I was always outspoken and sociable and sounded smart enough, nobody thought to think autism, though I do remember hs teachers cutting me a lot of slack, especially the psychology's teacher. I was allowed to colour during class, didn't have to take notes in some classes, I could wander around the school in others, I got extra paper in some exams bc all my answers were a convoluted long mess but I was graded on the bits that contained pertinent info and always had good grades. Elementary school was a whole different story but I kinda blocked out those memories lol
I mostly think I am autistic because I relate to so many real life experiences, especially from autistic adult women, that I've been seeing on social media, where I never related to the stereotypical symptoms list. I might seek a formal diagnosis one day but I have other, more pertinent issues that aren't autism that are actually messing with how well I can live life. I just wanted to share how important good people are and how much they can help. Oh and obviously it is beneficial to have people and language as special interests lol

tumblr dot com is the only place where people would respond to a post saying "aros r allowed to complain about how much romance they see" with "there isn't enough content for queer romance tho" as though those aren't completely unrelated points that can coexist with a single second of thought
