The French have arrived on the island. The Binary code situation is getting dire. There’s an adorable new egg named Pomme. And now it’s time for me to um. Spout some nonsense about what might be next. > u o it’s what I do best!!

Ok. Given the arrival of Pomme, of Richarlyson, of the binary attacks getting more and more overwhelming, dangerous, and unfair— I feel like at this point the eggs are more than just a one off arc or event, especially if new groups will come with more eggs. I don’t think that the egg arc will end in the way we think: with all the eggs just dying and then just being gone forever.🤔 maybe I’m wrong, but I think there’s another option here. And even if it does happen this way the eggs are pretty much immortalized in the streamers’ memory and in our hearts—like how Maxo has dedicated his search to find answers to his huevo, so even if they are gone their absence will still be felt in the story— unless some in roleplay memory altering thing happens I very much doubt everyone will just… move on.

(Of course, while I love the egg shenanigans, I completely understand that some streamers don’t prefer it, and I also recognize that the streamers without eggs/who dislike the eggs may feel a little left out by the collective server going-ons. I really hope that the server reaches a point where not everything is eggs and other players not as involved with the eggs feel comfortable returning to play regularly … but I also hope that the eggs stick around and still influence the story, yeah? They just seem real important, and the admins who play them bring wonderful life to their characters, and it’d be a shame to lose that. Also it provides in-roleplay translation and someone to talk to in their own language if other streamers aren’t on, which are both really practical things.)

I think they’re going to have to uncover the secrets of the island to “move past” the egg arc, and probably whatever shift happens will change things irreparably going forward, like HUGE HUGE reveals, recontextualizing a lot of stuff we were confused about earlier and clearing up some of the confusing things about the island. I think we’re going to have to get that keypad to the spooky hallway.

(Disclaimer: this 100% might be copium from me lol bc I really want a happy ending… but right here I’m placing my trust in the QSMP admins and team to create a good story and balance the stakes. I believe even if the extreme attachments to the eggs were said to be unintentional there must be SOME change in the plan to accommodate them because they’ve become so beloved and so ingrained into the gameplay)

-> I believe in them because clearly there’s a lot hidden underneath the surface, how deep and well-planned and well thought out the QSMP ARG is

-> clearly they see and recognize the reactions to the eggs from the fanbase and the players, especially the admins who play them.

-> although the players don’t get much information about the events or their situation, there is still communication between the players and the admins through tickets, dms, etc etc. i think if the mental strain of losing eggs is too potent the streamers will speak up, and they will definitely accommodate.

I think that as the true, artificial/experiment nature of the island reveals itself, I think things will get a whole lot more violent, and a lot of eggs will lose their last life. It’s gonna be the darkest hour. My heart will hurt. In between we will probably have breaks to let the French establish themselves, but underlying the fluff will be a potent sense of dread and possibly grief. At the same time, with SOFIA and the mysterious man, the parabolic satellite, the QSMP and the players will pool together all their resources to figure out this island as quick as they can and escape with the eggs still living.

BUT ALSO I think the all the eggs aren’t truly dead and gone, and we’ll we will get to see tilin and trump and juanaflippa again— after all they got the 5 minutes in the SLIDING DOOR ROOM felps was put in somehow, and I don’t think felps is dead, or that room functions like a true heaven. It’s literally in a basement and has been shown to be abandoned once before, and is connected to the hallway systems underneath the island. And juanaflippa was revived through the trial, so clearly the Federation has some sort of control over the “aliveness” or “deadness” of the eggs. Basically what I’m hoping for is that there’s still hope XD

I think the eggs are as artificial as the island (they are so real in emotion and personality and bonds with their parental units though) but that also means that their deaths could be artificial too!! (the letters with the Faberge eggs?? Idk if anyone else saw that but there were a series of lore letters related to the QSMP that people translated online and they’re very interesting) If they’re not like humans, perhaps they can be REPAIRED through special means, or maybe deaths from the binary code CORRUPTS instead of kills them and they can be uncorrupted??

I think very cool stuff is going to happen, not sure what happens in the middle here but I’m excited for it. I think the experiment/simulation will break apart as more people are added/ the main rebellers rebel and find out more of the secrets. Quackity has hinted at a hard future and many things still in store.

I am SO SO curious as to what is going in, but i think there’s an opportunity for the dragon eggs to survive/come back/be revived/finally hatch and just become regular NPCs instead of ones with limited lives, since that is the source of most of the stress. That way they can still be around while not being as stressful. In my perfect world they become little dragon hybrid players that have a dragon form and still speak in signs and everyone can still hang out. 🥺

and then way way wayyyy in the future, end of the server kind of thing, while the eggs don’t really get to leave QSMP as they are admins, i think the true goodbye when the vacation ends and the players finally escape the island and the dragons grow up and fly away maybe and it’ll be super duper sad and bittersweet.

This has been a long post LOL, but basically the gist of it is i think there’s still hope, and I am SUPER DUPER curious as to what’s happening behind the scenes, and the secrets we have yet to find.

god yesterday i was so excited and motivated to play toontown and this update is pretty awesome, i love the new animations and the new cogs but most of it is basically ONLY a new coat of paint and theres nothing new to do, aside from beating up some of the new cogs to get them added to my cog schticker book. so i kinda lose motivation about it really, REALLY quickly.

i am already dismotivated and tired in general today, i got better sleep than last night and i dont know how i even functioned yesterday. so my lack of motivation and my shift of focus of Want To Play Other Game Despite Hyperfixation (minecraft and stardew valley on my 'wanna play at least a bit today' itches) is explained this way

but man. without friends i don't feel like checking most of i out - and a lot of my friends from my club already did so, without me, while i was asleep because of timezones.

(if any of u read this its not your fault im pissed at myself for being the one [well, now we have 2] europeans in our club)

so i dunno. i still gotta digest this update more, but realizing it added basically no new gameplay dismotivates me greatly. it was needed especially with some quality of life things like better tasks for clubs, emoting in a cog suit, cleaner animations (and quicker animations, too).

but holy hell there's nothing *new* to do the novelty will die off very quickly. it's just an april toons wait for me again. good update in terms of quality, i'd say.

but honestly? overhyped. i may be wrong though. bu whatever, it's my opinion and i am feeling pessimistic today. this doesn't mean i don't like the update, i do like it and it excites me. but urgh. okay. check out new things and log off and its the same. but i get it. volounteer team. they're not gonna add any big things yet. got hopes up.

mmm i've just been negative with staff or other reasons so i suppose my naturally harsher criticism stems from that. but again i still have very big respect for the work they do and i myself would not be able to do these things. but as someone who has like 133 laff and all they have left to do is graham(had task for almost year, cant get friendgroup to first time with me), prestter (skipping), oclo and maxing clo and ceo as the grindy things (and some drops, like mistys drops. how did i get all dave drops before misty.) theres so little to do like a lot of my enjoyment comes from playing with friends. and timezones are a thing. if you have lower motivation good luck getting shit done here

(otterverse recap, 2/3)

now it's time for my personal favorite season of the otterverse, season 2! if season 1 is where the joke became a bit, then season 2 is where the bit became a roleplay, and also the last season where the tumblr inbox itself is referenced as part of the plot/world they live in.

it starts, as many things do, in a wendy's. c!otter (she/they/rain/star/paw, played by @leonardoturtle) is vibing, until a bunch of eldritch fellas and other weirdos essentially show up to start bothering paw.

notable here are lung anon, blood anon, tin star anon, and raccoon anon (i believe they were all played by the one the only @donatelloturtle, all they/them since anons), who are. actually i dont remember much abt tin star and raccoon other than they were in gay love but blood and lung anons? yeah those guys were on some tma shit. also, there was pedant anon (played by me, they/them, kind of an asshole but had some funny moments), wendy's employees #1 and 2 (different anons, one played by me and the other by @wallace-marte), a few failed ARG anons that never quite got off the ground, and pink text anon (played by @wisp-exe). out of these, lung anon, pink text anon, and the wendy's employees are the most important, despite what pedant anon would have you think, with lung and blood especially aiming for the annihilation of the world and all of reality (the other anons all made fun of them for it).

for a while, it's just a lot of ominous muttering and vague joke-making, as we the rpers try to get something fun off the ground (we didn't really start properly communicating behind the scenes until mid-s3)- and then in rolls pink text anon, the bitch-ass motherfucker themself. they taunt and threaten every otterverse participant i know of- even me. (this was the birth of c!gumy, btw! she used she/xe and will be important later!)

c!otter gets attacked by an apocalyptic eldritch flesh creature (later retconned to be a tbh creature), and harbinger anon (played by @harbinger-anon, whose main i can't remember) saves star by destroying the messenger.

pink text anon! introduces themself to otter as rains "guide," and starts pushing star to do things and "follow their lead," ominously and vaguely talking about the end of days and whatnot. what really makes them different is that they go into other ppl's askboxes and pull them into their story- namely, me and felix (cc!felix, to be clear. we all are/were mcyt fans we use c! and cc! a lot bc all of our characters have/had the same names as us lmao). pink text told felix to "protect the sea" and me (c!gumy) to "trick the sea". c!gumy resented being manipulated, and vowed to hunt down and reveal pink text anon.

sadly, c!gumy never got the chance, because less than an hour later pink text tricked c!otter into pulling a lever that brought about the apocalypse that lung and blood anons were talking about. tbh creatures appeared Everywhere, and the RP part of this story really kicked into high gear. pink text also revealed themself to be c!wisp (y'know, that guy! you remember disc!), and gave a whole villain monologue abt being wronged and getting revenge and stuff.

c!gumy... did NOT take this well. she kinda did a triple cannonball backflip into the deep end and swore revenge against c!wisp. u know how it is.

however, after the initial moment of panic- c!wisp seemed repentant, at least somewhat, and guided c!otter to pull the lever again and possibly end the annihilation.

so, the group heads back towards the lever, all while being attacked by monstrous tbh beasts. several characters die at this point (pedant dies offscreen lmao what an L), most importantly c!gumy (tackled c!wisp to the ground and got them both mauled), c!wisp (who lasted long enough after that to fight off one more beast, and also got hit in the head by a pebble thrown by c!gumy in xir final moments), and c!otter, who sacrificed herself for c!felix, dying in front of xem.

the apocalypse was stopped, but the damage is done- the old world is gone, and while there aren't any more new monsters coming in, there's still thousands roaming the streets. even so, there's still hope, as the wendy's employees (who have at this point fallen in gay love) have survived the carnage and start working to build a new future for themselves. their names are daisy cabiosas (they/them, played by me), and carmin aloys (he/him, played by wali), and since they wanted to unionize back when capitalism was a problem, their new settlement is called Union.

some misc thoughts about modern horror (especially indie horror video games & internet horror [such as args and whatnot])

[please note that my interests are usually peripheral to this stuff and I don't actually consume almost any of it, but I still have opinions on it bc I am an opinionated bitch]

it seems to me that a lot of modern popular horror media follows the same general trends and themes & that this has been happening for the past decade or so

those themes in question being 'sick and twisted horror under the guise of innocence'

this has always been an element of horror obv its not like fnaf invented the idea of making a children's thing creepy but its definitely had a rise in popularity in the past few years

in part bc of fnaf

and now you see it everywhere, its the most prevailing theme in modern horror media.

its in horrible steam games called 'bimbaps playtime' its in every new arg that comes out its in fucking yandere simulator its in everything you see and because its in everything you see there's nothing else interesting

and yes there are interesting things to do with this concept but when its all that's being done then the amount of things you can do with horror based on children's media

like I genuinely thing having horror based on children's media and this pretense of innocence limits the depth of theme you can actually go into bc ur limited by the aesthetics of 'childrens media but with blood'

bc even when you're twisting it into something dark and evil and horrific its still in some capacity got the trappings of children's media. it's limited by the fact its pretending to be something else and that's ugly

and its not like this sort of theme cant work well I mean. religious horror (which I am a huge fan of always) typically does the same thing but with jesus instead of chuckie cheese but idk it works better IMO there's more u can do

its like. we get it. the children's thing is secretly fucked up bc of whatever reason its seems like theres nothing there its just lame

also body horror gets extremely more lame when its a plush/puppet/toy/whatever instead of an actual human being with actual guts. miss me with all that symbolism shit it just doesn't pack the same punch

the inside of a build-a-bear will never illicit the same visceral reaction as actual legit intestines

[little side note obv horror doesnt need to be gory to be effective but theres something to be said about how the lack of actual violence against humans tones down the horror]

[little side note 2 I am mostly referencing the welcome home arg with this point and also fnaf and those are 2 separate things bc I'm pretty sure that imitation gore is not what the wh creator is trying to do with their story (their project actually seems pretty well written for this genre) and ik fnaf has actual gore but its lame and all kinda the same concept IMO (machine stabs u or whatever) also I hate fnaf and all the terrible things its done to this genre]

these projects seem to be lacking some of the things that make horror such an evocative genre. things such as themes. and social commentary. and things that are actually scary instead of just jumpscares

it all just seems so vacant and stupid and I also hate the culture around having to dig around for the actual secrets of a story. arg culture has done a lot for internet culture and unfortunately that is one of the annoying things. the actual plot of ur thing should not be hidden in ASCII art in the code of ur development blog

idk man I guess I just cant take ur horror concept seriously when the thing I'm supposed to be afraid of looks like a funko pop

the genre just seems so confining rn and I know that's bc this sort of stuff is extremely popular bc it appeals to people who want lighthearted stuff in addition to horror content but its just so fucking. lame.

horror for children is lame and bad. its too violent for children and too simple for adults (at least adults who enjoy actually thought out stories) and all the horror that's really popular rn is. pretty much just horror for children

But yeah i totally get it, i love filling people in on the arg cuz its sooo good and so painfully underrated and under used. Though i do also like that crp as a fandom has kind of become this messy mish-mash of headcanons and stories and ideas and everyone has their own thing. I think it would just generally be a lot better if people accepted that the canon for a lot of these characters is like. 90% suggestion and 10% an actual canon to follow. Cuz so many people, myself included, have rewritten so many of these characters in fascinating ways.

OKAY SO FIRST IM GONNA TELL U WHAT EVEN IS ANALOG HORROR IN MY OPINION

Analog horror is a form of horror that leans on found footage horror, and usually has a supernatural or alien element whether its the threat or just the whole vibe it. Analog horror is usually meant to feel personal and like it could happen to you, similar to home invasion movies. Analog horror also uses outdated technology to tell its stories, like VHS, old TVs, ect. This is where it got the analog part of its name because those technologies use analog signals (look it up if u wanna know what those are !!) A lot of the time, an analog horror series can also have an ARG (alternate reality game) element to further the plot.

Analog horror is a relatively new type of horror and it's mainly found on YouTube. Some well known analog horror series include Local58, The Mandela Catalogue, and Gemini Home Entertainment. There are a couple other series that fit the analog horror genre a bit more loosely, like The Walten Files, Petscop, and Catastrophe Crow. Petscop and Catastrophe Crow also fall into the genre of creepypasta ARG games which if u are interested in learning about those I suggest watching Game Theory's videos on both of them (that's how i learned about them lol)

I've only really watched Local58 because its like 25 minutes total watch time, and the Mandela Catalogue because its super recent (i think it started getting posted summer of this year). Both of them lean into the whole personal fear and anxiety in different ways. I especially love MC because of how it can subvert your expectations and make you uncomfortable with its imagery. I highly recommend it if you're okay with jump scares, religious imagery, mentions of suicide and violence, and just a general sense of dread.

A lot of these series deal with disturbing topics that range from child murder, people's identities being stolen, possible cults, and a bunch of other things. Obviously you're going to get something scary since it's horror, but for me, I feel like these series can get viscerally disturbing in a way a movie or tv show can't. Especially when they bring in the ARG element.

In the end, I'm really happy this form of horror exists and is widely available for free so anyone can experience it and even get to be a part of it to help solve the mystery of it with a community of people who also enjoy the series.

Twitch Streamer AU???

(I planned on pushing out a FEW AU asks, but then realized I don’t even have so many. There’s going to be a FNAC event, but that will be an event, not a specific AU ask, so- I guess this is it! Very cursed AU, thank you very much Anon Small warning for mentions of blood, I think? Nothing too bad.)

Streamers, youtubers, content creators. Some people are all of these, some people are none, and some are just one- because each of them needed a very different talent. Those who could do seemingly everything were few and far between- And they ruled the entertainment scene! Thankfully though, the main three as most called them, were also always out for new content to watch. Thus they boosted those that they saw potential in. With some taking the boost and then going off to do their own thing- And some becoming good friends. It always started with a letter. Mike had the habit to do things on stream, as long as no personal details were not visible on them. He used a false email which he regularly changed, and he generally kept himself as safe as possible. Opening emails on stream could be rather fun, even if it was a risk. Sometimes it encouraged people to send bad things- So to prevent the worst, nothing would be downloaded and all emails containing images would be put into the spam bin. Better safe than sorry, the internet was full of terrible people. This day so far had been successful. And by successful it meant that Mike was SCREAMING. “I HATE SUPER MEAT BOY. I WILL COMMIT VIOLENCE AGAINST MEAT IN A MINUTE. I HAVE A BIG F-CKING STEAK IN THE KITCHEN, AND I WILL THROW IT AGAINST THE F_CKING WALL. I WILL GET A HAMMER.” The chat was going wild, cheering. The chat’s phrase of today was “tender Mikey” and it didn’t help at all. “I DID. NOT. HIT THAT! I DID NOT!” A donation popped up, with a robotic voice. ‘Oh hai Mark!’ “NOT FUNNY! NOT F-CKING FUNNY. I’M SUFFERING HERE AND ALL OF YOU SUPPORT IT. YOU’RE ALL F-CKING MONSTERS HERE, I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT. AND I’M NOT F-CKING TENDERIZING THE MEAT WHEN I SLAP IT AROUND, I’LL RIP IT INTO PIECES AND CONSUME IT RAW!” Standing up, he genuinely went to get it- And fifteen minute later he had slightly calmed down, his hands and room slightly bloody. The chat was still celebrating and donating- another thing that never failed to make Mike BEG them to stop and use the money for something GOOD and SENSIBLE, LIKE THEM-FUCKING-SELF- but he had gotten out most of the energy. “Alright. Alright everyone. ENOUGH. I gotta stop you HERE. It’s email time.”   A celebratory jingle played, as Mike booted up the website, opening the inbox. Memes, storytime, I’m-not-fucking-reading-that-and-you-know-it, and- One of the emails caught his- and the chat’s- attention, however. Sender: Fazbear Entertainment Topic: Challenge Needless to say- once again the chat was out of control and this time there was NOTHING Mike could do to stop them. After opening the email, Mike slowly took a deep breath and looked into the camera, between concerned and honored- But that wouldn’t be enough to rip him from his carefully maintained persona. So he audible scoffed- albeit him being unable to hide an excited grin. “Alright bitches and bastards in the audience- we’re firing SuperMeatBoy up again. You won’t be catching ME losing to a pink son of a bitch anytime soon!” After the letter- provided it was accepted and responded to, the production happened. The deal was that a teaser was dropped on the big channel- The entire video itself was put on the smaller one, attracting the viewers over and hopefully make them more likely to want to see the other works the creator had put out. It was a win-win overall, the big channel being able to vary their content, testing the water for new things- and the smaller channel getting a boost and a lot of tips from very experienced creators. Henry and Dave were very generous people. Jeremy was sitting there, taking deep breaths, trying to stay calm. So far, everyone seemed to be rather kind, even if Jeremy was basically a complete nobody. Hell, he never wanted to be anybody. He just wanted to stream himself baking, for those who never had someone baking with them. Because baking could feel stressful, especially when you were missing ingredients or- many reasons, actually. Not only baking, but cooking too- Sometimes playing games on request, but not much in terms of requests ever came in. And now he was here in an actual studio, soon to be seen by an insane amount of people. A cooking competition. Sounded silly- you couldn’t really FIGHT in something like that… But… Henry and Dave had promised it would be fun. And they were nice. With and without the cameras rolling. Speaking off- There they were, approaching, their assistant coming along. He wore a weird phone-head, to ensure his privacy. Or something. It was kinda weird, but he had just accepted the answer he got. “Why, there you are, Jeremy! Would you like to see the equipment we have prepared?” Henry warmly asked, reaching down with his hand to help his guest stand up. “We have gotten a few extra things, just in case.” As they entered the studio, Jeremy’s invisible eyes went WIDE. “Woah- that looks really nice! I love it here! This is high quality stuff-!” “Fantastic!” Pleased Henry opened his arms in his typical theatrical manner- Before being abruptly interrupted by Dave jumping in, halfway over Henry’s shoulder. “ARE YA READY TO GO!? CAMERAS ARE READY!” “Ah- I- I guess- but-“ “YOU HEARD HIM, BOYS! GET IT ROLLIN’!” “W-wait, I don’t even have-“ “Everyone! Welcome to NOTHIN’ AT ALL!” Henry swiftly fitted in, continuing on with the intro. “Todays challenger is the man, the legend, the baker and occasional chef- Jeremy from Baking With Jeremy!” “Wait, what- that’s seriously your channel name, pal?” A bit offended Jeremy looked into the eyes of the people behind the camera. “U-uh- you guys here- I mean- he has literally called his channel Henry Miller! I- uhm- I-“ Snickering Henry put a hand on his guest’s shoulder. “You are very right about that. Say, are you nervous about losing?” “… n-no. I mean- maybe a little. This place here is big and very professional and I’m not used to many people looking at me…” Taking a deep breath, he gave off a nervous smile for the audience. “… yet, I know- it’s a good thing! They asked first, of course. Each of them fulfilled their own niche, each of them had caught Henry’s and Dave’s attention in one way or another. Henry and Dave however- Well, Dave was the varied creator. Henry liked his niche. He played horror, investigated ARGs, read stories about real and fictional crimes against humanity. The world was a terrible place, wasn’t it? Yet he reveled in it. Aside from that he showed extra effects, he built machines and thought everyone one or another thing about creating special effects at home. From dry ice to genuinely ridiculous chain-reactions, Henry showed them it all. Blood too, multiple forms of it, depending on how and where it would be used. Sometimes breaking it off with more light-hearted one-off games and listening to what his community wanted to see… but the most comfortable he was with horror and analysis. He was a youtuber, a streamer, a content creator… … and one thing more. It wasn’t easy to find the code. But his intended audience were a very small amount of people. A small number of strangers. There was no way to know if anyone ever made it to more than one show, but Henry did not care. It wasn’t for them that he did this. Him and William moved down, down below the set, into the lowest regions of the house. The workshop. Nobody really question why you added what to your home if you were a creative person. Even less so if you were a famous, eccentric creator. Yes, the free reign was what he REALLY loved about his job. Maybe he should build his studio somewhere else- But like this it was so much more thrilling! Wordlessly both of them put on their suits. It would hide their identity perfectly- especially the animal heads that contorted their voices a bit. Enough. Today’s participant wore a mask too- another phone head, differently made, different style, but to hide their identity too. However, the voice was in no way muffled. Both Fredbear and Springbonnie stepped out of the shadows, one form each side. crocker corp arg day 14 & 15 recap!!! These are kinda long ones so im gonna put them under a read more :)

DAY 14

((sollux i love u even tho u only talk at 1am for me ily and im glad u liked our tea party  )). He can still read all of the channels in this server but is being polite and only talks in his and usually only answers the questions we ask in his channel, unless they're urgent, funny, or just seem to stick out otherwise. 

 Sollux is still kinda adament about remaining stuck in his position; he fears anything he does ends in death (we get it, you're a doom player). Dirk is still the same. Sollux visits him often because the AGT chamber is a pretty secluded area, and his coworkers are. . . annoying. Dirk proves better company. He can't tell us what Dirk's powers are being used for. 

 Concerning their own god tier powers, Sollux tells Daven't that "if we decide that you would be a good candidate we will be in contact". They know all of our classpects, not just 16. Sollux knows them because he has access to confidential information that only Condy has. 

 He deflected talking about the current AI or Felix by questioning why we love him. ((sucks to suck dude we genuinely like you.)) Apparently there used to be a worker named M who we would have really liked, but he's essentially dead now. Something happened to Mituna- he fucked up and isn't there anymore. Sollux constantly reminds himself that what happened to Mituna could happen to him.

 Sollux gave Felix leniency because he is pretty young maturity and brain development-wise. Felix is a brain copy of a troll, just the same as the current AI. He was really surprised to hear how Felix is doing now, and thinks it's amazing that he can comprehend emotions and love!!! Sollux will contact Felix and ask us to let him talk to other people when he's ready. 

 Sollux doesn't remember the outside world or his past. He knows CC merged human and troll society. He won't look at Jane's file, only knows that she's powerful and important. He won't look at his own file for fear that another IT guy will see him or it'll be a trap.

Although he can't remember much, we can remind him of the things that he loves. Like his lusus, the mind honey, and bees! Bees are soft and he loves them! Bees are an animal! Sollux has a friend who is always talking about animals!!! Tavros went into his office once to try to get information about Tinkerbull, which was blacklisted for him. Sollux is gonna show him bees :) 

Sollux isn't allowed to use his psiioniics unless there's a life-threatening corporate attack. He's not really aware of how caught-up in the timeloop he is, but he doesn't remember having that conversation before. That could be a good thing. Sollux stopped by again last night! Here's the news: 

 Sollux showed Tavros bees and he loved them!!! 

We can now trade mun embarassing videos for discords, so we've gotten tavros's discord! I don't believe he's responded to anyone yet, but it's there. 

Sollux loves bees. He also likes cats!!! We showed him pictures of our cats and he said they were cute and their purring is cute and cuddling is awesome.

 Sollux let us ask about troll biology!!!!! Trolls have naturally sharp nails on hands and feet that are a darkish orange (the same color as the tips of the horns) They also have fangs, with seadwellers having the sharpest. Height isn't correlated to blood color, sollux is just Really Tall, but physical strength is correlated to blood color, though sollux can Lift.  Body temperature is also dictated by blood color- lowbloods are very Warm. 

 Now for society: mutations used to be culled but now they're discriminated. These can include physical deformation, too many/not enough horns/eyes/limbs, and certain blood types (for example candy red or a mutated bronze with psiioniic powers) . These stopped being cullable offenses after integration with human society. 

 Vriska makes fun of Tavros for his stutter. Highbloods give Karkat shit about his blood. Sollux doesn't really know Karkat, just knows that he works in filing. Kankri got demoted for talking too much. 

 The ai's are made of brain scans just so that there's less opportunities for coding era and it's easily reset. It's also a punishment for some trolls, where they are completely rewired, cloned, and made digital. Both Finn and Felix are likely reversed scans of Mituna- this explains why Felix's god tier is a Witch of Life, the reverse of Mituna's Heir of Doom. 

 Wiped memories are kept in the database. They can be retrieved and returned.

We have a lil more information on seadwellers from yesterday. Apparently CC has two sectors that are completely underwater. Seadwellers use waterproof laptops, which are "like the laptops everyone else uses, but wet." Condy most likely has two offices, one above and one below the water.

lotta new discords today!!!!! We can now talk to Tavros, Nepeta, Vriska, Terezi, Feferi, and Jake. thanks to everyone who subjected themselves to public humiliation for this   

 While most of the characters havent been online yet, Tavros talked to a few of us earlier!!! He's extremely sweet. As far as information goes, there were a few new discoveries.

 Tavros is very kind and trusting, he trusted me enough pretty much right away to tell me about Sollux showing him bees, which he had been told not to share. He even blocked Ardent pretty much automatically when Isi told him to. 

 Sollux refers to Tavros strictly by his ID, even though we know that he knows his name. Tavros says Sollux just does it to be respectful. They are good friends, and Sollux told Tavros about bees!!! 

 Humans are ranked higher than bronzebloods within the CC heirarchy; they hold roughly the same rank as jadebloods. 

 Terezi tends to take the heirarchy pretty seriously, and seems suspicious of how we managed to contact her. She works in paperwork (writing and filling it in), and draws with sharpies in her spare time. She likes the other tealbloods she works with and also likes the janitors, especially Kanaya. 

The tiaras almost absolutely have some type of healing/sustaining power- Tavros's legs were broken, but they magically healed.

 It seems that Dave, Rosaline, and Rose still have yet to return. 

Lastly, daven’t and i are now official invitees of the tour, as a few members of the og16 elected to step down.

A Crow Looked At Me; so like fuck thats a sad album huh ? its straight up just grieving But With Guitar. im a massive fan of mount eerie and like literally everything phil elverum ever does, so its unsurprising this made the cut in the end, but this is one of those albums where once its over youre just left there, probably crying, just like “well shit now what to do i do with my life”

Concrete Desert; years back the bug and earth did a 2 song split that to this day i still absolutely adore, so as soon as i heard they were making a full length album together, i kinda flipped my shit ! ! and it lived up to all my expectations, and then some ! the album perfectly captures both the gritty and noisy and cold and empty sounds that both the bug and earth make separately, and just mashes it into this beautiful and dark album

Time Away; so idk if anyone knows but i am a HUGE casey lalonde fan, their music has meant a lot to me and helped me through a lot, so its only fitting they drop an album this year and its beautiful as hell ! ! from start to finish, time away took me through a bunch of feelings, all relevant to this year, doing what casey lalonde does best and making an incredibly enjoyable and comfy album yet again

Savage Sinusoid; i mean shit igorrr sure as hell exists huh ! ! suddenly savage sinusoid is released and its god damn chaotic as hell, and really focuses more on the... lets say Guttural side of igorrrs music. i mean all good albums should start with a dude screaming his lungs out honestly

Outer Edges Remixes; so the first time i listened to the outer edges remixes i was in public, but that did not stop me from boppin my head and all that shit cause literally every song on this album goes the fuck OFF ! ! ! like i honestly cant say anything else its just incredible remixes of older noisia songs with their incredible style of their album Outer Edges

Someone Elses Story; oh my goodness here onwards things are probably gonna get lengthy and emotional ! ! so i absolutely Love every piece of music avery releases, her music has comforted and helped me for years, and i still remember the first time i heard her music with the album Lost No Longer, which to this day continues to be my Comfort Album. now this album carries that weight twofold, as this album is about the past 3 years for avery, which coincidentally is for how long her music has been helping me. now ngl, i definitely cried listening to this album, every song just hit a different part of me, and you can feel each emotion that shes experience over the past 3 years in just 9 songs. a beautiful way to wrap up her alias as cxdr, and come out publicly under the name avery, and i cant wait to see where her music goes next.

It Happens Too Briefly To Know; i honestly did not expect to come to love this album as much as i do now ! on the surface its good indie rock, not anything new but not too familiar either, playing with the genre with interesting changes in the pace of songs. changing the pace during songs more often than not. it felt simple enough, but slowly over time i just kept coming back to this album, listening to it over and over again, and ive really come to appreciate every minute detail of this album, not to mention the feeling of youth it seems to so expertly capture

Romaplasm; oh my god, oh my GOD. alright so i really love baths, and this is undeniably his best release yet, it nearly placed second on this list, but i think world eater just BARELY tops it, for entirely different reasons though. hearing such openly gay songs from a big artist is... incredibly refreshing to say the least, even if they can be incredibly depressing, with lyrics such as “queer in a way thats failed me”. this album goes on such an incredible journey through everything baths does so well, starting to bright and happy and reaching an incredibly depressing song only 2 songs later, which jumps right into an incredibly uplifting and headstrong track, basically continuing in weird patterns like this but somehow flowing really well, until it does what i loved about his album obsidian. what i loved about obsidian is how it progressively got darker and grittier, to the point where the final track had some distortion in it. this takes it to an entirely different level, by going in an entirely different way. this is done in the last 3 tracks, so from wilt to coitus the album grows softer, almost like its dying (not a hard conclusion to reach with such track names) to a point in coitus where it even fizzles out for lack of a better word. and as coitus ends, in comes broadback, an oddly happy sounding song, especially in contrast to the last few tracks. the lyrics on the other hand, definitely not so happy, but vaguely hopeful. then baths does something that he hasnt done in his music before. he screams. and he just screams “dont want you to die” over and over until the end of the song. words cannot explain what this album does to me, but good god it sure as shit does it

World Eater; with each release blanck mass has done, hes gotten progressively more Intense. his first album was just an ambient album, his second release was grittier, it actually had beats, and now theres world eater. when rhesus negative kicked in on my first time listening to world eater, i fucking lost it. its such an angry and intense and fast song, and it goes the fuck off. the album goes in and out of angry songs and softer songs, in such an entrancing way that even the worst track on the album is still amazing and something id just listen to on its own. id like to mention literally every track on the album and talk about it but that would just take up way too much time, but i do want to just say the rat and silent treatment are fucking incredible songs that are like nothing ive ever heard and everything about this album just fucking RULES

II; ever since this album dropped in march, it has been my album of the year, nothing swaying that opinion any other way. i god damn love phuture doom, and the whole arg and everything about the lead up to this album was god damn amazing, and when it was all finally uncovered and we all listened to it for the first time, it blew our fucking minds. II takes what everyone loved about phuture dooms first album and ramps it up to 10, making the darkest and angriest and grittiest black acid cult shit imaginable. one song after the other, each proceeding to just impress and enthrall me more and more, and then you get the 4 minute ambient (and frankly kinda scary) ending, and honestly i needed to lay down after hearing II for the first time. the story and mystery of phuture doom deepens further, and quite frankly i worship  my new overlord Entity0, whatever the fuck that even is

*cracks knuckles* I'm busting out the powerpoint for this cuz oooo. I have. A lot of feelings about this boy, so buckle up

So first off, my Ben isn't just Ben. Or BEN, yes there is a difference. My Ben is a hivemind of all the Moon Children that ascended before the events of the ARG and 2 exceptions, so a total of 10 or so people. The more dominant instances are Ben (the first moon child to ascend and the boy that a lot of people think of when they think of Ben), The Behavioral Event Network or BEN (the paranormal, near eldritch entity that does all the mind fuckery and messed up stuff we've seen in the ARG, this is the bitchy one), and Rosa. Ifrit used to be a dominant instance too before he got grounded by the Father for crimes against the group. *Making a quick note here before the cut that while my Ben was not intentioned in any way to be like a system, there are definitely some cases in my headcanons where he could be interpreted that way just from him being a hivemind full of people. While this isnt the intent, it could certainly be read that way*

So, talking about the individuals more now:

The Event Network is the beginning of the Hivemind, and the owner and creator of the body they all share. He/they/it was made by Kelbris as a way to create a sort of "immortality" by creating a space where souls could live on in the afterlife, with the hopes that they could still, in a way, live in the real world. This ended up being successful, but not until far after Kelbris has died and ascended himself, and this experiment was "lost" after his death. Lost as in, it developed a mind of its own and lives by its own rules now.

The Event Network is half character, half setting. It's mind is where all the Moon Children reside and live on, with it allowing them to pilot it's body to basically come back to life as something physical in our world. It's body is the body that can be interacted with, injured, spoken to, and holds all the energy and power that keeps the group alive. Damage to the physical body can cause mental and physical trauma to the other Moon Children. Because of this, and its reason for creation being to protect and support the Moon Children residing in it, BEN is hyper protective of it's Moon Children. Every decision it makes and action it does is done so with the thought of it's Moon Children in mind, especially Ben. It is usually the other Moon Children that make the more executive decisions for the lot of them.

Ben Lawman is the human source, I guess you could say. He was the first Moon Child to "ascend", but not the first cultist to. That honor goes to Kelbris, or the Father. But anyways, Ben being the first to ascend means that through him, the majority of the body they all share is sculpted and formed through him by the Event Network. BEN has a very special affinity for Ben since he was the first living thing BEN had ever experienced. You could call it love. So their shared body resembles what Ben wants to look like, it tends to follow Ben's lead on what needs to happen, and Ben is generally the one in charge of them all, with BEN backing him up as an enforcer. The two are borderline synonymous when interacting with him outwardly.

Rosa Hubris is the other one you would be most likely to see. She was one of the last ones to ascend in their group, and ascended against her will. She's the compassionate one, the mediator, the more emotional aspect of their body. In my fic especially, she is the first one to reach out in a non-hostile way and ask for help for the lot of them (She's about to be shown in the next chapter and I'm hella excited, I love her sm guys). Especially for the younger Moon Children, like Insidae or Nekko, shes the other caregiver aside from BEN, the more maternal side for sure. Where BEN is the protector and guardian and gatekeeper for all of them, Rosa is very much the mother and big sister to all of them, and plays a big part in regulating their environment and mental state as a whole.

I won't talk about Ifrit much cuz we don't see him a lot, but what he did is important so. Ifrit, or Matthew Hubris is Rosa's brother. Him, her, and Ben were all friends when they were all still alive, they're the only Moon Children that knew each other before death, aside from Nekko and Insidae being close. Ifrit was a dominant instance before; he was the physical action aspect of the group, the one that presented decisions and fought for them, the one that would charge headfirst into a fight or put determination into a interaction. He is outspoken and stubborn and very much a leader figure even when he wasn't the leader of them. He got power hungry, and ended up turning on them to give himself an opening to basically usurp the Event Network, and was beaten down by it and imprisoned by the Father. He now lies in the subconscious of them all, wiped from all the Moon Children's memories, and stewing in his anger and resentment. He's a force to be reckoned with, but him being pushed down weakens the group as a whole, and he won't stay down forever.

Now . . . the Father. Kelbris was the one that founded the cult, the prophet for the cult, and the creator of the Event Network. BEN regards him like a dad, hence the name the Father, but the other Moon Children know very little about him. After he ascended into the Event Network, he became more like a piece of infrastructure for the body, rather than another character in it. Kelbris acts as the security system for the body, and the ultimate enforcer for the lot of them. BEN listens to Kelbris over Ben, and thats all you really need to know to know that Kelbris's word is law. Thankfully, he is more than content to sit back and let them all fend for themselves, only coming out in very dire instances (like Ifrit being an ass). It guards off different parts of their collective mind to, allowing access when needed or politely requested. Kelbris is somewhat a mythical figure in my fic cuz of how mysterious he is presented to the others. BEN is very picky about information about him, so the other Moon Children regard him as some kind of deity almost, similar to Luna, and it gets passed onto other characters like my protagonist Aubrey, who begin to regard him as much more than he really is, like in here. In truth tho, he really is just. Some guy. He's not a threat, nor is he an all powerful being, nor is he malevolent. He is a guardian, and reactionary to what happens to him, and he only desires to see the longevity of his experiment, something he views like his own child now.

As for the other Moon Children, uhh. Unfortunately I pick favorites 😅 they aren't nearly as developed as these guys rn. Nekko is the baby of the group, hes v much the playful childishness and innocence of Ben, and Insidae is his older brother figure and the levelheaded, all. Dusk is one of the oldest of the group, hes the responsible one and the self control of them all. They all kinda work together to try and be one semi-functional human being, but that shits hard. And then you throw in the two exceptions, Alex and Sarah, the two outsiders that got dragged in for going too deep into the game and the Father snatched them. They don't have any influence on Ben's presentation or mental state though, they're just chilling really.

Now, as for how Ben is physically. Obviously he's not really human. All of them were once human, except for the Event Network, so they know at least how to act human when the need comes up, like remembering how to breathe when they need to blend in, etc. But BEN's body that they control is not human nor organic in any way. The best way I can think to describe it is like, how ig in steven universe, the gem's bodies are like forms of light with a projected appearance. BEN's body is almost crystalline in a way, a weird warm/cool to the touch, and he feels alive with energy but not life. Like his skin has a live wire underneath the surface. Electricity is what keeps him running, but not electricity like from a circuit or a wall outlet, not generated electricity, although he can use that in a pinch. More like the electricity that our neurons make whenever they communicate to make our body function. He can and will still use generated electricity for energy, he will suck on your phone charger when hes worn out and in need of a boost. But its like drinking an energy drink when your exhausted, he works better and more efficiently on his own energy. He can sleep and eat, though he doesn't need to, its more a pleasure in the action and the familiarity of it.

He can be hurt and injured, though its like damaging a robot over a human. His body can crack and shatter, it does hurt him but the pain isn't what inhibits him, its more the physical damage. He cant bleed, his "blood" shows as like glitches and sludge and smoke and its something that's. Very gross and acrid and definitely not human. Almost all of them will recoil back when hit, except for BEN. BEN is usually relatively docile, except for when his Moon Children are involved. He will pull tooth and claw out for his Moon Children and tear anyone to shreds that threatens them.

Ben is still trying to figure out the full scale of what he is capable of. If and when he does, he will be extremely powerful, but its a matter of learning what all he can do, and learning how to control the power he has. He can generate and amplify electrical energy, channel it through his body, pull the electricity from his body and manipulate it in a myriad of ways, etc. In my fic, he definitely is still learning as he goes. Early on, he mostly just knows how to shock or electrocute people, mostly accidentally, or pull electricity from other sources and channel it through himself to power different devices. He learns quickly how to use his energy to sort of shield himself and others, although unstable as it is (it ends up frying people in the circle he makes the first couple of times). The further the story goes, the more he learns; he'll be able to make ball lightning, learn how to affect specific components of electrical devices for different results, learn how to brute force connecting multiple devices, affect wi-fi and Bluetooth connections, and even influence whole power grids. It takes a while though. Because of the sheer amount of damage he can cause, he is often sought out by other demons or enders or what have you for many reasons, so he tends to keep well to his little circle.

As for my fic specifically? Well, we are at the very beginning still, he has been hinted at and is definitely present, but not yet introduced. Rosa will be the first Moon Child we meet through one of Aubrey's dreams, and it will be because of her that Aub even bothers to keep the game and progress through it. Ben, especially BEN in particular, is very hostile in the beginning. He's been trapped in his game for years now, and being bound to it, he cannot be very far from the physical cartridge, nor can he appear corporeally. His presence can be felt, but he cannot be seen, touched, heard, etc without him focusing very hard and willing that to be so, and when he can be seen, its not in any kind of human way. He's very eldritch, smokey and pixelated, warping with eyes and arms and mouths overlapping into each other, because of all the people in him. He's hostile because hes been trapped for so long, and hes scared and he can't find a way out or anyone he can trust. The first part of the fic is pretty much just Aubrey trying to find a way to get him out. And after they do, we'll see a lot more of both him and Aub learning how to be friends and coexist with each other. They're bros, total buddies, I love them and I love writing them 😭💖 but anyways. The fic is mostly just these two dumbasses being friends, bumping into other creepypastas and dealing with them, getting an apartment and dealing with each other, and eventually becoming ride or die for each other. It's both of their stories intertwined, with a few other people thrown into the fray.

Overall, my Ben is much more related to the actual ARG than the fanon a lot of people run with in this fandom, so if you want to understand more, I highly recommend watching the videos Alex put up last year, or even just checking out the wiki for the ARG. He is definitely not one-to-one with the ARG or the fandom, and I tried to keep him still relatively human, but struggling with the notion of being human once and not quite a human now. He's probably one of the most complex characters I've written tbh, but I love him so its worth it lolol 💖
