gf Jill
I barely see any Jill content, so why not. I love this woman so much, you don't get it. Anyway, here are some headcannons :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⭑ She loves when you're gentle with her. Soft touches and caresses are definitely her thing.
⭑ Overprotective lover. Not in a toxic way, she's just extra careful with you, Jill would hate to lose you.
⭑ You're her safe place, she's not afraid to open up or lean on you.
⭑ The only person that's allowed to touch her hair is you, no questions asked.
⭑ Speaking of hair, Jill lets you dye and cut it whenever she feels like it.
⭑ Loves when you play with her hair at night, especially after a really bad nightmare.
⭑ The feeling of your fingers running through her hair puts her to sleep in a matter of seconds.
⭑ This girl trusts you more than anything.
⭑ You're her top priority, nothing comes before you.
⭑ Would match jewelry with you, like bracelets or something, that would be so cute actually.
⭑ Loves kissing you, but it would be more of a private matter.
⭑ She's not big on PDA, but some handholding, a hand on your back or back pocket would be enough for her. She just needs some reassurance that you're still there without making it too extra.
⭑ Neck kisses are her favorite. Loves receiving them, but she adores giving them to you.
⭑ Jill is scared of hurting you in any way, so always expect soft and tender touches from her side.
⭑ She's more of a dog person. If i'm not mistaken, Jill had dog pictures laying around in her apartment in re3, so I could say with certain confidence that you two would own a dog or two.
⭑ I feel that it would be so cute if you two did your skincare together and everything.
⭑ She would appreciate the times you two just sit together in silence and enjoy your presence, it's so precious to her.
Tumblr media
I need her, I'm not sane.

Just basically theorizing here a bit to kill some time before we get more info on the upcoming cgi film, "Resident Evil: Death Island". It's nothing to be taken remotely seriously as we haven't been given much as to what the movie will exactly entail (just a synopsis and summed up bios of the characters).
I'm assuming in this scene, Chris walks in on Jill at a shooting range (presumably at a BSAA compound?) to inform her about his investigation of the outbreak happening in San Francisco. I wonder if he's going to ask her to join in on the investigation. I mean they've known each other a long time going back to the days of STARS Alpha team, to the Spencer Mansion Incident, reuniting after the events of Code Veronica to join a private task force to take down Umbrella, to being part of the formation of the BSAA and up until Jill's sacrifice to save Chris from being killed by Albert Wesker in Lost in Nightmares. They have had a long history of working together and completely trust each other and with Jill's determination for justice (which we really saw that up close in RE3, both OG and Remake) and responsibility, no doubt Chris would want her on the mission.
We know Jill rejoins the team but I wonder if she'll still experience any of the mental side effects from re5. If those feelings of guilt might surface some while on the mission in Alcatraz. Since Alcatraz was once a prison, maybe it would trigger memories of Jill being imprisoned by Wesker for 3 years. 3 years must of felt like a lifetime with being tortured and forced to participate in inflicting acts of bioterrorism. It just would be nice to see her overcome those "mental demons" and get to display some badassery that we know she's capable of doing. She's already got a great supporter in Chris (can't wait to see them working together again!). So I think she would do amazing. Chris certainly knows she can hold her own! I know the series doesn't tend dive too deep with the characters prioritizing game play over story. And even the cgi films are more like fan service action vehicles, especially with Vendetta. So not getting my hopes up too high but it is fun to come up with ideas. I just wish they would take the opportunity to use these animated film series to explore the protagonists more. Go deeper. After all, since the films are not video games, they wouldn't have to worry about balancing game play over story, etc... They could just focus more on the story. Just some thoughts for now anyway until we know more.

I’m about to vomit out a bunch of thoughts, and I’m not sure any of this is going to make sense by the end, but. I’ve been thinking a LOT about these three lines in RE4make:
“You haven’t changed. You just think you have.”
“You can’t save her. You can’t save anyone.”
“This time, it has to be different...”
I’ve seen people focus in on that Krauser line and tie it directly back to Sherry, which is cool! Even as recently as five years ago, people completely glossed over Sherry’s impact on Leon’s life, and it’s cool that the remakes have had people digging into his character and realizing “oh shit, literally everything that happens to him after RE2 is because of his paternal love for Sherry.”
But... Krauser’s line is about more than just her.
With the remake turning Krauser into Leon’s combat trainer, chances are he knows about everything that happened in Raccoon City. And I don’t mean, like. He read a government file. Leon probably told him.
In OG, Krauser and Leon have this exchange of dialogue:
Krauser: “What is it that you fight for, comrade?” Leon: “My past, I suppose.” Krauser: “Hmph. Umbrella.”
It was axed completely from the remake, because it doesn’t make sense for it to happen in the remake. If Krauser was Leon’s trainer, that question was probably asked very early in their relationship. And since they weren’t currently in a fight to the death, and because they weren’t already six years removed from Raccoon City, chances are, Leon’s answer was a bit more involved than just “my past.”
So, let’s back up a little bit. In RE2make, they basically turned Kendo into a completely different character. OG Kendo was literally just there to point a shotgun at Leon and/or Claire and then go “oh my bad you’re not a zombie” and hook them up with some guns before he gets eaten. In RE2make, he’s a desperate and terrified father just trying to spend his last few moments with his infected 6 or 7 year old daughter before she turns. After he shuts the door on Leon and Ada, Leon turns to Ada and says, “Protecting people like that is why I joined the force.”
But Leon doesn’t protect or save Kendo or his daughter. He doesn’t protect or save... anyone. Every single person that Leon comes into contact with and tries to save dies horrifically -- and some, he even has to kill, himself (Marvin Branaugh). The only people who make it out of Raccoon City alive are people who saved themselves (Claire and Ada).
Of course, there is Sherry. But Leon didn’t save Sherry; Claire did. ESPECIALLY in remake canon, since nearly all of Leon’s scenes with Sherry got severely shortened or removed completely in RE2make.
But then, when Claire entrusts Sherry to Leon’s care (on his own insistence, per her RE3 epilogue), he goes and fucks that up, too. Gets her kidnapped and held hostage indefinitely by the federal government, and the only thing he can do about it is do exactly as they say and just hope they keep their end of the bargain and not hurt her.
So, when Krauser says “You can’t save anyone,” he means anyone. Ever. And even up to that point in RE4... Leon got the two officers who drove him into town killed, and he watched Luis die a slow, agonizing death right in front of him. And then, past that point, Leon has to kill Krauser with his own hands. Then he watches Mike die.
Ashley is literally Leon’s first and only success story, up to this point in canon. (And even when you go all the way up to current-day canon, Ashley is one of... three? People? I can think of? Total? Who Leon actually saves?)
So, Leon saying, “This time, it has to be different,” he doesn’t just mean Sherry. He means Ada. He means Kendo. He means Marvin. He means the entirety of Raccoon City. He’s staring down a repeat of what happened back then, not in terms of the bioterror situation, but in terms of his own personal failures. His survivor’s guilt. He can’t handle the thought that he’ll be the only person to walk away again -- and he refuses to be.
And that’s why Ada’s line bothers me so fucking much.
I mean, first of all -- Ada, you haven’t seen this man in six years, and you’ve spent a total of like five minutes with him since meeting up with him again here, so how the fuck would you even know -- but even aside from that...
To be clear: she’s right.
But she’s also wrong.
Leon has changed -- to an extent. In RE2 (OG or remake), Leon honestly believed that if it was lawful, then it was also morally right. He doesn’t believe that anymore. There’s no more “letting the law sort it out” or trusting in the power of authority for him anymore. His moral compass has been boiled down to: “If you hurt or murder innocent people, you’re a fucking asshole, and I don’t really care who you are, I’ll kill you myself.”
RE2 Leon was willing to hear people out and give them an honest benefit of the doubt -- even Annette Birkin. RE4 Leon just tells people to shut the fuck up before opening fire.
RE2 Leon was honest and trusting to a fault, and he felt stronger as part of a team. RE4 Leon is suspicious almost to the point of paranoia, and he just wants to be left the fuck alone to do his job.
These are all things that were really important to who Leon was in Raccoon City, and they’re reasons why things turned out the way they did for him, back then.
But at the same time, Ada’s right in saying that, at the core of it all, Leon is still that kind-hearted, decent guy who just wants the good guys to win and the bad guys to lose. That’s why it hits him somewhere sensitive when Krauser says: “You can’t save anyone.”
It’s just that, now, the way he approaches it is different. His outlook on life in terms of his goals is different. His expectations for it have changed.
So, if Leon had been smarter/wittier, he absolutely could have turned it around on her and said: “No, I’ve definitely changed. You just think I haven’t.”
And not only would that sound threatening as fuck, he’d also be right. They both would be, at that point.
And for all of those major parts of him to have changed and still be facing down the possibility of failing every single person he comes across, especially Ashley...
"This time, it has to be different.”
And this time, it was.

4t3: RE3 Clutter (Deco)
These were originally converted by @mimoto-sims.
I edited the Indoor AC to remove the clutter from the top.
It’s been a little while since I converted these. I believe I tried to stay away from anything too high poly, but these most likely are still higher poly than most EA meshes.
Compressed. 1 zip file (all included, unmerged), and individual files available.
➨ Download ➨ Alt Download
General Info:
1 swatch. Not recolorable.
Found Under Decor>Misc for $1.
Some pixelation in certain lighting conditions, especially on the Indoor AC.

Ohmygod, a random ask but.. Werewolf Carlos Oliveira from RE3 remake x gn reader... Just like an angst thing with him being very distant, maybe add some Halloween elements with costumes or something, like gn reader would buy him a werewolf costume and it hurt him (reader doesn't know btw!)
He felt… off.
Of course, he felt off, it happened all the time now since he had been turned. But for some reason, he’s felt even more off lately.
It sank a twisting feeling in the pit of his stomach, churning his guts and making him suddenly fully aware of every little noise happening in the house. Especially with you. He’s never told you, fearing that it would be too much for you- or even worse: You’d be afraid of him. He’s not sure he would be able to handle that despite everything he’s been through with his fucked up life.
Lately, he’s been growing distant. You noticed it pretty quickly, but refrained from saying anything at first. You were aware of a lot of things from his past, but he never told you about some of the darker things that haunted him at night.
He was worried, terrified really, of what he could do to you. He’s had too many horrible nightmares of all of the awful things he could do to you should he lose control at home. Just the fabricated fear in your eyes alone was enough to make him wake and sit straight up in a cold sweat.
It had to be the moon. He’s been eyeing at the damn calendar in his phone whenever he can, panic eating at his sanity the more he looked. But he couldn’t help it. He’s never experienced something other than just a normal full moon.
He’d come home, exhausted and feeling miserable from the growing empty pit in his gut when he saw you decorating for Halloween. You perked up seeing him in the doorway, your sweet smile made him feel even worse about what he’s been doing. You put down the wooden black cat carving and picked up a bag and brought it over to him.
You greeted him at the door as he kicked off his boots, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before handing the plastic bag off to him.
“What’s this?”
“A costume,” you smiled before nudging the bag for him to open. “Remember? My office is having a Halloween party in a couple of days, so I picked us up some costumes.”
He raised his eyebrows in slight amusement as you turned and went back to placing decorations around the living room. He hooked a finger in the plastic and tugged it open to see what you bought that made you so giddy.
Only for his heart to skip a beat and drop into that ugly icy pit growing in his gut. A fucking werewolf costume with some cheesy off-brand name. It was stereotypical right down to the torn flannel, a ripped open white t-shirt, tattered blue “jeans”, a bag of fur to glue on and cheap fake claws that would fall off from the glue provided. A suddenly stabbing fear of realization jabbed right into his heart, nearly making him drop the damned costume right there.
Did you know?
He eyed you warily, the dark circles around his eyes felt both warm and cold at the same time. You were minding your business, back to him, plucking out more decorations from bags. No, you couldn’t have known, you would’ve said something. This was just some sick and twisted coincidence. From where he stood, he could see your costume on the table: A matching vampire costume with the over-the-top cape and fake fangs and all.
It was just some sick joke whatever divine being was playing.
You peered over your shoulder, eyebrows pinched together in worry as he was just still standing there. The color had been drained from his face, he looked like he was about to pass out like he’s seen a ghost.
“You okay?” you tried to smile to lighten the mood.
He only nodded and set the bag down next to his boots.
Dinner had relaxed him somewhat, quelling the gnawing fear in his gut for a little while as you snuggled up to him on the couch. A thick flannel spread over your legs, eyes on the tv and you both struggled to find something to watch. The tv froze suddenly as he was flipping through movies, freezing on a damned werewolf movie with an ugly beast as the monster with a person limp in its arms.
That horrid fear slammed into him like a train. Bile pooled under his tongue, his brain suddenly scattered.
He felt like he was about to vomit. It was like something ripped straight from his nightmares to haunt him while he was awake.
He stood up suddenly and hurried into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind him and locking it. He grabbed at the sink’s porcelain tub, the thick stone threatening to crack under the pressure he was putting on it as he heaved and gagged only for nothing to come out. He was starting to sweat, he could feel it against his spine at how his shirt clung to him so unnaturally tight.
He looked into the mirror only to see two yellow eyes looking back at him.
A sudden soft knock had him planting a hand against the wood, palm wide to keep it shut despite it being locked.
“Carlos?” your voice was soft. “Are you okay? I know you haven’t been feeling yourself lately. I’m worried.” He suddenly couldn’t breathe, his chest seizing. It felt as though his heart and lungs stopped functioning. His mouth went agape as he braced himself against the door, trying to fight the very thing lashing to get out. He couldn’t lose control, not here and especially not now with you being on the other side of the door. “Carlos, can you unlock the door?”

i want to talk about the significance of this piece when compared to my interpretation of Jill Valentine.
this is in my jill pinboard and its. very significant to her in my mind because this is how she sees herself a lot of the time.
She has blood on her hands and has always had it ever since Arklay, and even before that with her service in the Army. Especially during RE3 and RE5 I feel it's the most prevalent, as during RE3 she is responsible for the death of Nikolai, and indirectly the death of Tyrell and all of the zombies she killed. Despite knowing they were zombies, a part of her thought that she could have helped them with the cure if she hadn't lost it to Nikolai, but she did what was necessary.
I think leading into RE5, this is where this quote is most relevant and becomes more prevalent. She was directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds, she intentionally gave Irving the virus that would end up mutating him, she killed so many without a choice and she came extremely close to killing her closest friend and his mission partner. The only reason she didn't kill them was because she fought back hard enough, if she hadn't fought it at all she would have had even more blood on her hands.
But it didn't stop there, no matter how many times she washed her hands clean, no matter how many times she looked at her unmarked hands in front of the sink she could always see that film of crimson over them, not physically there, but there regardless. It's in every part of her, and she can't forget any of the death that used to surround her and the death that continues to surround her. She is stained with her actions, good and bad, and it is a part of her in that it never leaves her, neither when she is awake or when she is dreaming. Everything haunts her, and she's exhausted. She was responsible for so much, and she has to atone for it all.
Recovering after RE5 didn't help either. Every day spent in that secure hospital room reminded her of why she was there, why a lock was on her door.
Because she was dangerous.
By all rights, she was a bioweapon.
It reminded her day in day out, and it reminded her of the blood on her hands, because who would trust her to wipe the slate clean when everything she did only stained it further.

Am I the only one sad that there's no Carlos or Sheva in the Resident Evil Death Island trailer? I know they don't come back in the other ones I just hoped this time around we could see more of them 😔. Especially given how popular Carlos was in the RE3 remake.

hi, i am putting this on anonymous because i am shy. what are some themes you would like/wish the remakes to expand on?
I'm answering this late I am very sorry
SO this is a lot for me to think about and hopefully i can keep it concise because I tend to ramble
Put under a 'Read More' because this will be super long
To start, I think that I just wish Capcom wouldn't be so lukewarm with its themes. This is probably the biggest problem because (to me, at least) it can't focus on what it wants to tell the audiences.
They are obviously trying to make the series way more "serious" and yet they completely tone down its foundational messages. Sure some of that has to do with the more actiony tone it took after RE4, but let's just back up to the original trilogy.
RE1, RE2, and RE3 were essentially a three-part and yet self contained story that followed a small cast of police officers (save claire and carlos) during the zombie apocalypse. An apocalypse that was caused by corporate greed and the need to capitalize and profit off of scientific research for militarization purposes. While a little silly and outlandish in the final product, the three games (especially 2, IMO) have great storytelling and execution of its themes. Umbrella and Raccoon City Police are corrupt, and there are terrible ethics surrounding BOWs.
Now compare that to the remakes. Now, RE1make is my favorite remake because it kept the original feel and look to the game, kept the story relatively the same, and improved on it in terms of voice lines, graphics, and gameplay. The only major change is adding Lisa Trevor, who I think is a great addition because we get to follow the Trevor family through the game and get a look at how Umbrella exploited them and made them into monsters, a personal touch on something hard for us to comprehend.
RE2make and RE3make on the other hand.... well now we have around 20 extra years of Resident Evil to influence these and if you're familiar with my blog, you'll know that story wise, I do not like these games (especially RE2make). These games changed so much of the original story to make them more "realistic" and in the process, sort of lost the plot. Too many times in the modern remakes, things happen that hint to something from the original games but overall? It's not there.
As an example, I want to go over specifically how the police chief Brian Irons is portrayed. In the original game, the player learns little bits about him through files. We know he's dangerous, violent, and has been taking bribes from Umbrella. The bribes are to help him have control over the city. He was highly influential in the Spencer Mansion cover up, where his main role was shutting down STARS so they wouldn't be able to investigate the incident. He worked directly with William and Annette Birkin and took bribes to prevent police from investigating the sewers so their lab work was undisturbed. In RE2, we see him spiraling because "Umbrella destroyed his beautiful town." He traps and kills police officers and innocent civilians, basically rants to Claire about how power hungry he is and he is the one who gets to choose who lives and dies in his police station. Basically, we see point blank that Irons is egotistical and wants nothing more than to keep that power for himself. A corrupt police chief who shows how money and power twist a person for the worse.
In RE2make, he is reduced to just a sick man who physically beats up the young female characters and just wants to torture people. While the bribes are still (briefly) mentioned in this game most of Irons' character is now "Look at how sick this guy is! Isn't he scary? Wow! He's so scary isn't he?" There's nothing about his need and desire for power and control over his city and police station (hell, he leaves the police station 3 seconds after he's introduced!). Sure, you could argue it's implied, but this is a perfect example of Capcom not really committing to something it strongly depicted in the past.
Looking at RE4 Remake, a similar issue occurs! The original game was vehemently anti-American. The file "Our Mission" is the most explicit you can get. Yet the remake tiptoes around it and honestly ends up more patriotic! Leon's role as a government agent is glorified, Ashley wants to be an agent, Krauser gets told off by Leon for not trusting the American government, and the lack of Saddler appearances all contribute to this! Death Island and Infinite Darkness had similar problems of Capcom calling out the American government but then backtracking at the last second. I want them to just stick to a theme for once! Not alluding to one or tiptoeing around it. Say it!
Next on the list is one that I've stated before but the actual ethics and humanity that organizations like Umbrella toy with. A lot of the BOWs feel just like monsters you fight when a lot of them were real people with their lives taken from them. This is also why I liked Lisa Trevor from the first game's remake since she was a human experimented on and we got taken through her and her parent's journeys. OG William Birkin and Remake William Birkin are also perfect examples of this. In the original game you feel like you're fighting Birkin, but in the remake it just feels like a depersonalized monster.
Similarly, I do wish some of the themes were done more tastefully, such as the whole eugenics stuff with Spencer and the Wesker projects. I don't think it should be completely scrapped but I feel like you can't just throw that into your games and barely talk about what it means lmao
This is not really a theme but better perspectives on the female characters. This is purely a personal opinion but I think horror with female protagonists is way cooler than ones with male protagonists, and weirdly enough I think this shift happened when RE4 came out. Jill and Claire were more fleshed out and important characters than Leon and Chris when the OG trilogy came out, but now their roles have been greatly reduced to practically nothing. And why was RE6, a game where a creepy man cloned Ada Wong more about Leon, Chris, and Jake than it was about Ada herself? Also, I wish we could've had either of RE7 or RE8 actually have Mia be the protagonist instead of Ethan because I think either of those games from her perspective would be super cool to experience.
Now that I think about this, I blame this purely on the action shift because even for the male characters, I greatly prefer OG2 Leon, OG2/CVX Chris, CVX Steve than OG4 Leon, OG5 Chris, and DSC Steve (although Remake Carlos is definitely above OG3 Carlos). I want to learn more about Jill, and Claire, and Ada, and Rebecca, and Mia, and pretty much most of the female characters, and I'm so sick of seeing the male characters who are only there because they're cool action heroes.
I wish RE focused more on small communities and small isolated things. I think RE is too big now. Like starting out in a small suburban town affected by murders and experimentation and now like we've gone to multiple parts of the globe and now there's a mold baby with mold superpowers in the future and that mold is actually what started everything (totally not retconned)?? Like let's dial it back.
For the last thing I'll mention is that I wish the remakes focused on the themes of horror rather than just the aesthetics of it. Like yeah, the games are a bit darker and scarier, but they're still more action games now. I loved RE7 because of this, because the Bakers were a good horrific family both in the looks and what they represented!
I think all in all I have a lot of wishes for the franchise and I know it's completely unrealistic to wish about them and sorry for bombarding everyone with this huge wall of text! I have a lot to say lmao

spoilers for resident evil village, vendetta, and death island. this is however mostly just what i want to see for re9 which is probably coming out either next or after whatever remake is coming up
i hope leon isnt in RE9 as much as i love him because i have this feeling that hes gonna die
hes doing better. you can see in death island that he is doing so much betteem im unsure how theyd take this since death island takes place in 2015 and RE9 would probably end up taking place in the future (due to rose's age) but killing a character in the middle of their arc when they feel like theyre doing better is the OPTIMAL time to do so
im not 100% sure on the fact that capcom would kill their current moneymaker because even before RE4R came out everyone still loved leon but theyve still managed to release titles that have done well without him, anyway, like biohazard and village
i do however hope that jill is involved. she hasnt been in a game since re5 and she's an important part of chris' story. we know thanks to shadows of rose that mia mainly raised rose but we also know what chris was involved as well, and i just think it'd be cute if chris had no fucking clue what he's doing and jill was there to help him. death island makes it very clear that jill is still extremely traumatized, not only from the events from RE1 and RE3, but also from RE5 (mainly) and the events that happened in between.
theres so many things that they can do with her and since she hasnt been in a game for a while, it's total free real estate on what happened to her between the events of DI (or more importantly, RE5) and RE9. is jill still working with chris? what has she been doing ever since she (assuming she did, but she almost definitely did) left the BSAA? has she started her own independent thing similar to the hound wolf squad? or does she help chris with the hound wolf squad? it's not like jill to retire, especially since her role in death island is about her getting back into the field after RE5 and presumably a few years break after that.
i hope shes still lowkey mean too. like in the RE3R irritable way that she's just a little bit fed up because i want to see those resident evil fandom misogynists cry about it. its fine when leon's a total dick in vendetta bwcause hes traumatized but when a WOMAN is a dick to an organization that DESERVES IT because SHES traumatized, its suddenly a problem.
and i know leon isn't constantly a dick and he's not necessarily a violent drunk like chris is shown to be, im fully aware that leon has a good heart and isnt an asshole completely, but he was kind of a dick in vendetta. just a little bit. and people think its hot so my point stands.

hi could you do some yandere head cannons for re3 Carlos?
Of course! I love him :)
Yandere! Carlos Oliveira Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Flirting, Murder mention, Overprotective behavior, Possessive behavior, Slight paranoia, Implied forced relationship, PDA implied.
Tumblr media
- Carlos would be very charming to you.
- He cares for you, especially when you two are forced to protect each other in an infected Raccoon City.
- Carlos would be Flirtatious/Charming, Protective, Manipulative, and somewhat Possessive around you.
- For the most part he just comes off as nice to be around and protective.
- His attachment towards you may appear if he was helping you get out of Raccoon City with him.
- The original mission he had was tossed much to his surprise, now he had to fend for himself.
- When he encounters you he always starts off as charming once he knows you're not a threat.
- Giving you compliments to keep your spirits up along with flirty lines.
- Carlos comes off as the romantic and teasing type when around you.
- He loves seeing you turn red at his words and finds it adorable.
- Your reactions to his comments may even solidify his obsession.
- He'll thinks you reciprocate his growing feelings and he feeds into it.
- Carlos is also protective of you.
- You must stick together which means you can't part for very long.
- If he also met Jill around this time he'd probably prevent you from splitting off and going with her just to stay with him.
- He hates splitting up, but if it ensures your survival he allows it.
- Carlos may even be manipulative.
- He makes you feel like you can't leave him and even encourages you to stay close to him.
- Scare tactics also seem to be something he'd do if it kept you safe beside him.
- You can't leave him if you fear it too much.
- Carlos would be possessive when other men talk to you.
- He doesn't mind too much when women talk to you, but he seems on edge when other men get too close to you.
- If he'd kill another human is unclear.
- It would probably depend on how said human treats you.
- If you're hurt, they're getting a bullet reserved for them later.
- If they are too close to you, he plans on manipulating them away from you.
- If they just want to help he's fine with it.
- The biggest part of his Yandere is the fact he loves flirting with you.
- He'd even do it in front of people just to show them he has his eyes on you.
- He'd call you such endearing names...
- If you let him he may even put his arms around you and whisper in your ear.
- Even if you didn't let him, depending on how far he is into obsession, he'd probably still do it.
- He cares for your boundaries to a degree as a Yandere.
- At least, he respects them more than most.

I had no luck without tags, so I'm trying with tags.
Does Resident Evil: Death Island actually treat Jill and Claire (especially Jill) respectfully? Or does it pull the same thing as the RE3 "remake," where it actually focuses more on building the guys up?
I'm looking for honest takes. Not just fandom pumping. I've loathed the past decade of Resident Evil overemphasizing Chris and Leon while mostly treating Jill and Claire like their lesser supporting characters instead of equals. I bought the RE3 "remake" and regretted it as it became clear that corners were cut and content excluded from not respecting Jill's story, particularly how an entire section from the original RE3 was handed over from Jill to Carlos.
If Jill and Claire are treated well by Death Island, I'll plan to check it out. But if I'm told they are, only to find out they aren't, I'll assume everything for the next 5-10 years from Capcom that looks like it'll treat them well actually doesn't.
If anyone's up for giving their input, please do so.

What do you think of Jill wearing more feminine outfits next to Carlos? I've never seen pictures of she in a dress with Chris. which means outside of work Chris has never seen her in a dress

Here's the Jill and Carlos picture the Asker is referring to:
Tumblr media
I want to start by saying that I can see how (especially) in the RE3Remake, Jill and Carlos do make quite a cute pairing. I feel like the remake did a much better job of making their relationship more 'shippy' and I liked Carlos a lot. I can totally understand if someone wants to ship Carlos and Jill.
I personally didn't see much romance between them in the OG RE3, but I understand that there are some slightly different paths with that game as well. Like you may get the above picture or a different one. I also know this can happen in the OG:
Tumblr media
I'm glad Jill and Carlos have some respite after everything in RE3! Lord knows they both need it.
But I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Valenfield and they are my main RE ship.
Also, my sister and I joke that the poster Jill has on her apartment wall in the remake is of Chris (handsome dark haired biker dude who appears to have some military influences - we know Chris has a leather biker jacket and is ex-military. It might be a bit of a stretch but it also made us go 'Hmmm...') Source:
Tumblr media
I could also go as far as to speculate (but should I? XD) that Jill (we don't actually see the persons face) is wearing one of Chris' shirts in the RE3Remake post-credits. Or at least it looks very much like Jill wearing a green shirt with a punching bag in the background (Chris has always been associated with the color green and punching boulders). But if you want to headcanon that it's Jill and Carlos I guess you could do that, too. (I think some people speculate it might be Rebecca as well, but I'm going with Jill)
Tumblr media
Yes, Jill is definitely a woman who would wear cute feminine outfits if she wanted to. I have seen those pictures of Jill and Carlos at the end of RE3. It's always kind of fun when Capcom does things like that so you can determine for yourself what it means (like all these other points I've brought up, too).
But to come back to your initial point, I think there is definitely a chance Chris and Jill have seen each other in casual clothes over the many years they have known each other, which by Death Island will be about 20 years.
For example, you can read some entries from Jill's diary as bonus material in RE3 (the original), to which she mentions Chris in 3 out of the 4 entries. One entry even has her going over to Chris' apartment in the middle of the night. So did Chris see her in her pajamas? Maybe. Or maybe Jill wore her ugliest sweats and a huge trench coat. Maybe she suited up in her STARS uniform before going over? Maybe she did wear a really freaking cute outfit? Who knows. But what we do know is that she went over to his apartment in the middle of the night. My thought is that she went over in normal casual clothes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There have been multiple subtle hints about how close Chris and Jill are in the series. Chris even writes to Jill that Claire may reach out to her about his whereabouts in his letter, found in the STARS office in RE2Remake. And that's why I like their ship so much, they have a lot of history together and care about each other deeply (whether you see them as romantic or not).
They are 2 of the original 11 founders of the BSAA. The BSAA rubs shoulders with some big government organizations and the like. Perhaps there has been a gala or fancy fundraiser or meet and greet with these organizations, which would mean Chris and Jill would attend in some formal wear. I'm not saying it happened, but it is within the realm of possibility.
And also, in RE5, Jill only tears off her cloak to reveal her skintight battlesuit once she's in front of Chris (And rips it open :O). Okaaayyy?? Girl has been missing her man for almost 3 years! Like... hmmmm.... lol. (No, honestly, I'm only joking, that whole ordeal breaks my heart for both of them - how traumatic it must be!)
So in short, I guess there is a chance that Chris and Jill have never seen each other in casual cute clothes, but their history and apparent connections (within canon) would more logically point to the fact that they have.
But Jill and Carlos are cute, too. Just not my favorite and first RE ship :)
I'm not here to start any shipping wars or anything. Just enjoying my current obsession :P
(Also, sorry if I sound ignorant, is there a cultural aspect that makes seeing someone in their casual clothes much more significant? I know RE is Japanese, so is it a big deal in Japanese culture? To our Western traditions, we usually place significance on seeing someone dressed up nicely)

Genuinely, I don't think the writers know what to do with Ada anymore. In fact, I don't think they especially like her character. Like she was perfect for the second game, OG and remake, because she was created specifically for it. But when she became a favourite and people wanted more of her, they just genuinely didn't know how to work her in, which led to her mess of an arc in RE6. After that, I feel like they just kinda slowly and quietly removed her from the movies, and even her appearance in RE4R was extremely limited.
What we need to keep in mind about Ada is that the problem with her starts at conception. She was originally developed as a racist caricature in the form of the dragon lady stereotype. Whether or not that was done on purpose is up for debate.
The second issue with Ada is that there was clearly a plan for her character in place with her RE3 epilogue -- which was then thrown out and never honored because of how fucked up RE4 OG's development was.
And then, to make things worse, Shinji Mikami actually did have an idea for the change in direction for her character when his team put RE4 OG together, but then he ragequit out of Capcom and took all of his notes with him before Separate Ways started development.
So, honestly, Ada as a character was doomed from the start. And I can't really blame Capcom for leaning back on her relationship with Leon, because that was the single easiest thing that they could pull on when they were struggling to pick up the loose threads that were left behind in the wake of Mikami's departure.
It was also the reason why fans liked her so much (seriously I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen people express love for Ada without once mentioning Leon's name), so why not center her character around Leon and their relationship?
But then they went too far, and they fucked up Leon's characterization for RE6, and it nearly killed Resident Evil as a franchise.
Because you don't piss off the biggest portion of your fanbase (in this case, Leon stans) and get away with it.
So, for Capcom, it was absolutely worth every effort for them to salvage Leon's character and try to win back the good graces of his fans -- which they did with Vendetta and then RE2make and then RE4make and now Death Island. But it's far less important for them to rehabilitate Ada.
What I have found interesting is that, in Ada's absence, Rebecca has been brought back into the spotlight. Suddenly, out of nowhere, she's being treated like she was always one of the main recurring characters all along.
She hasn't been.
The last time we saw Rebecca, prior to Vendetta, was the original REmake in 2002, and I'm not joking. Fifteen real-life years and almost twenty in-universe years passed between her appearances in this canon, and now she's part of what the devs and the fanbase refer to as "the main five."
But that's not who the main five always were.
Before Vendetta, the main five were Chris, Jill, Leon, Claire, and Ada.
And now Ada's been completely pushed out of the picture from a marketing perspective when it comes to this series's branding... which is just kind of wild for me to think about, honestly. And the change in perspective among the fanbase was so easy and natural that it actually took me a few years and a tweet from Dusk Golem pointing it out before I even noticed.
I think the Remake series is Capcom's chance at rebuilding Ada's character from scratch in a way that makes sense -- and I also think that if it goes over well, then they can use the ideas from Remake and put them into OG canon and bring her back that way.
But we'll have to see.

SEPERATE WAYS (2023) INITIAL THOUGHTS - PART ONE :
Tumblr media
while i think i set my expectations a little too high regarding this DLC & there are areas where i was left disappointed, aspects of the original story that begged for expansion which are either ignored or just as obtuse, i do enjoy the new additions & scenarios unique to her campaign ( resulting from it being given proper development time, when the original was always an afterthought, a quickfire rendition of the main scenario whose actual story is relegated to direct exposition from ada in between chapters + the attached guidebook offering context on her actions & allegiances ) . ada's characterization falls very much in line with how i've portrayed her . while capcom always delivers on engaging gameplay ( RE4R's combat is the franchise's best & ada's unique move-set sets this DLC apart ), characters & story can often take a backseat to the breakneck pacing of the action, to atmosphere & overall world, monster & sound design .
i wish this wasn't a consistent issue but having been a resident evil fan for at least half a decade now this is what i should've expected, there are some excellent moments hampered by wasted potential & while these are faults i am happy to see ada wong being given a chance to shine . separate ways was always setting up ada's own solo outing that was later backtracked & her narrative role reused for damnation, only somewhat realized with RE6 as ada's campaign carries the most story relevance as we learn the motivations & background of the game's villains, with ada confronting her own manufactured persona plastered onto another woman . this DLC feels like that promise fulfilled, ada unchained from her narrative dependance on leon as we relive the events of RE4R from her perspective . whereas for leon it's a horror, for ada it's just another day clocking in to work . everyone was left wanting for more & thinking ada robbed of her story relevance by luis, but even in the original her campaign is what cements her role in the narrative & it is the same here .
i don't tie my blog's canon exclusively to the remakes & as i've detailed here there will be a lot carried over from the original moving forward with my portrayal, especially in how resident evil 4 (2005) is a self-aware take on the american action movie, where ada plays & subverts the role of the femme fatale very plainly . this is something important to how i perceive & portray ada, because i think an issue regarding most analysis of her character is that despite her duplicitous, calculated nature, people take her & her words at face value . in this remake much like in her every appearance, there is a disconnect between her actions & the information she relies to other characters, it's what makes her interesting to me ( & why i've written her for as long as i've been a ressie fan ) . we've known since RE3 that ada wong is a cover, a mask worn by a woman that thrives on lies & deceit, & the weight of it, her existence in a world on the brink of self-destruction is what gives her life meaning .
separate ways (2023) doesn't truly pick up until after luis' death, sadly, i don't think her infection is given much proper development, but her relationship with luis going beyond one file & one cutscene is a welcome addition to her story & the interplay with luis' arc & theme of redemption adds a lot of context to ada's scenes in leon's campaign . the build up is a little middling but the payoff is worth it .
this isn't going to be an in-depth analysis post, i still need to gather my thoughts, think of this more as a rather long list of observations :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first off, i love that ada's introduction & approach to rescuing luis shows her undercover . this is the first time in the franchise we see ada, a spy, sneak into a situation not donning her signature raven black hair matching her usual red/black color scheme . while the leather gloves are a dead giveaway to eagle eyed viewers, it's a nice change of pace for a character we are told is a spy though we rarely see do proper espionage ( she is more akin to a gentleman thief ) . does make me wonder where she procured the outfit since the inhabitants of the castle are on high alert, & what she thinks of all the dead hitchhikers she walked past on her way down .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i also enjoy that ada humors luis by giving the chance to finish off his private dance number & that from her expression alone there's instant regret, an eye roll, placing a cigarette in his mouth to shut him up, later turning her head away to create distance as luis leans in, before her demeanor with him grows openly hostile as he continues testing her patience . i will say though, this scene does feel like it belongs later in the campaign, it makes little sense for ada's route throughout valdelobos to be castle -> village -> castle ( luis even mocks it, asking ada if she ever thought she'd come back to the castle later . seems like a cheeky nod from the developers hinting at the strangeness of the circling ), & it always felt like their cliffside chat was supposed to be their first meeting . in fact, this is hinted at by the code phrase used, one luis asks leon upon their introduction & later ada, stressed in the e-mails exchanged . which is absent here as i think originally the trouble luis got himself into that leon hears of in the prince charming radio call was getting recaptured . this is a writing decision made specifically for the DLC that, in my opinion, does conflict a little with the main scenario, but i can live with it .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i guess it's nice of ada to pick up a pack of cigarettes on the way to valdelobos, i just wish she smoked one or two in a cutscene, maybe they're not her brand .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some insights into ada's arms dealing background given from the descriptions of her springfield armory xd ( blacktail ac ), customed made for ada's personal use, she must know some excellent gunsmiths . interesting as well that her knife 'has meant the difference between life & death on more than a few missions', she is shown to be rather proficient with knives in later cutscenes too . really makes her expression when leon essentially mansplains the usefulness of knives in close quarters all the more understandable . she thinks it very funny, because she never initiated the fight with the intention to harm ( finger off the trigger, playful lilt to her voice, in the remake leon has openings ada doesn't exploit, leon is her distraction against los iluminados why would she harm him at all ) . in both renditions it's a part of her game to judge his training, how it has changed him & in the remake she does get caught off guard by how seriously leon takes the encounter, the build up of resentment of a six year old death & betrayal ( deserving, of course, a consequence for ada's actions in raccoon city that leaves little room for whatever lingering sentiment people misinterpret in their interactions ) only regaining her foothold when he tries to talk down to her . then she mocks what he's become .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after learning of ada's infection i first speculated it would coincide with her own capture by méndez's forces after rescuing leon at his home, sedated as in the original & injected with her own plaga instead of becoming a sacrifice . instead her infection happens first thing, resulting from a fairly surface level cut on her right arm that heals & vanishes ( along the damage to her sweater ) within minutes . while we are told that pesanta possess a unique form of plaga infection specific to her victims ( fitting with her name drawing from catalan folklore as a creature that causes breathing problems & nightmares by perching atop a person's chest ), plaga infections happen through the injection or forceful swallowing of a parasite into a host . in the remake the parasites survived incased in amber, preserved like the insects they are, in the original they became petrified & their spores infected miners hired by the salazar family, & now i guess an organic spike cutting someone slightly is enough for a parasite to start growing in your body . but hey, infection through a wound sustained on your forearm from a black-clad monster pursuing you throughout your mission, ada/jill parallels anyone ?
it's just a shame pesanta isn't a stalker enemy that irregularly pursues ada throughout the castle & village, an active threat that looms over the horizon . she is encountered three times, always alone ( sans illusions, which i suppose is a nice nod the hookman version of RE3.5 ) & the third time is the reimagined U3 boss fight, where ada is freed of her infection . this is told to us, & ada even comments on the usefulness of the information, in a file found in the display room, but it's almost kind of a copout as to end the infection plotline as soon as possible .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for leon it lingers until the very end, he goes to such great lengths to cure himself & ashley, ada vomits her parasite & brushes it off like it never happened, & it's such a shame because pesanta's ability to control her victims through waking nightmares would've been such a great chance to introduce some more horror to ada's journey, insight into her character by the nature her nightmares take, imagery & symbolism, maybe an even more overt series of hallucinations in the castle as a full on callback to RE3.5, something beyond her nightmares being a boss mechanic ( not asking for anything beyond a 5-10 minute sequence is a 3-4 hour long DLC ) . this is why i'm currently on the fence about retaining it as part of my canon, i guess until we see the story relevance of the blood sample wesker takes in their first encounter .
ada, to me, is a character that always struggles with her lingering humanity that gets in the way of her own selfish whims & her employers' desires . she finds herself getting invested & distracted by the people she comes across during her missions, by a moral line she is unwilling to cross no matter how beneficial it would be in the long run, which is bolstered here as she affirms luis' promise & need for redemption . while i won't bore you with the notion that her greatest flaw is that she cares too much or anything ( she doesn't ), it is an aspect of her character that makes her a more realized person but dampens her life of espionage . it's an operational failure, but not a personal one, something i would've loved to see reflected in her struggle against the plaga, her humanity succumbing to a power she can't truly comprehend . one that might be useful in her betrayal of wesker, a man who thinks himself as having surpassed humankind . a notion considered but ultimately discarded as she is self-assured enough to think she can stand against wesker on her own terms .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pleasantly surprised to see ada's glasses return in a superior form, one i'm definitely keeping, as the I.R.I.S. system is a gameplay feature & a fun little spy gadget that makes far too much sense as a tool in ada's arsenal . not just explaining her prowess with her grappling hook but scanning the environment for footprints & fingerprints, a gameplay feature i hope to see return in any prospective future instalment featuring ada . she is noted in a character blurb from the original RE2 to be an investigator, an information retrieval specialist, as both the g-virus & the dominant plaga are referred to as evidence that ada is tasked with collecting, rather than research material ( the former makes a lot more sense once you consider that ada's golgotha sample never resurfaces after RE2, while the g-virus itself does in dead aim, degeneration & RE6, it's always through other avenues, namely, HUNK's sample landing in the hands of umbrella europe's facilities in france, frederic downing escaping raccoon city with his own sample & carla radames extracting the lingering golgotha in sherry's system - the latter kept by ada for undisclosed purposes, the same file mentioning she has no desire being part of wesker's apocalyptic designs ) .
when i first played the demo for RE4R i immediately locked onto the game's present though underdeveloped stealth mechanics . i remember testing its limits seeing how far i could sneak into the village before initiating combat ( it wasn't very far ), & it set my mind ablaze with the possibility that separate ways would expand on its stealth system, making ada a more covert operative . while there's certainly opportunities for stealth, more than the base game, it would've been very neat to see the I.R.I.S. system implemented in such a way as to allow ada to scurry by undetected . enemy sightlines & alert levels, a ping system allowing you to see enemy movements behind walls, i'm just dreaming about an ada wong metal gear solid game .
does make me wonder though if this is just an ace in ada's deck that wesker is otherwise unaware of, as he could very easily tap into her eye to see her activities in real time, though i doubt it's in any way connected to any network ( los illuminados also has the facilities to interrupt any radio communication ) . ada keeps wesker updated to her progress via her radio & never removes the I.R.I.S. like she discards her sunglasses, i'm unsure yet if it is a contact lens or a permanent implant .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
an incredibly goofy line but i think as ada's report unveils, ada isn't necessarily the most creative woman when it comes to word choice ( she leans too heavily on obvious metaphor & cliché even in her speech patterns ), i don't think this topples her equating umbrella's collapse with an umbrella folding & brining all of spencer's shadowy conspirators ( wesker included ) out into the light & their wretchedness into full view, their battle of light & darkness as they seek to erect a new umbrella, that's still my favorite ada wong-ism . i think her quips in this DLC make her out to be even more of a dweeb than ever before & believe me she thinks she is so clever .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
very brief for an introductory monologue but i do like that RE4R's primary theme of change is carried over to ada's narrative through the lens of how raccoon city changed her, kind of been a long running aspect of my portrayal, the complete shift of the ada wong persona & the ideals of the woman underneath after a night that almost undid everything she was . this in tandem with the reputation garnered from her survival & the opportunities it presented her as a corporate spy is what molded ada into a much more efficient, smarter operative willing to reopen old wounds as to form scar tissue . her questioning wesker's designs with the amber here, as well as telling luis earlier she has yet to decide what to do with the amber, is also a very nice callback to death's door where ada's single thought following her discussion with wesker at the apple inn is the possibility of a g-virus outbreak on the scale of raccoon city ( 'if the t-virus did this, what would happen if the g-virus got out ?' ) .
she probably blessed whatever higher power she doesn't believe in that no such outbreak has ever occurred, a BSAA file on golgotha specifically states this fact & the disastrous consequences should one ever occur & as i've mentioned previously, her sample never amounted to much . this does tie into a point i will make once we reach the post credits scene, it's something that makes me very happy .
i don't think ada was ever fully prepared for raccoon city, even prior to the outbreak itself the darkness of the umbrella corporation was of an evil she had yet to encounter ( if you subscribe to her presence in arklay & stay in raccoon city up until the outbreak as i do, rather than being sent into RC on two separate occasions ) . while there was plenty of dread & deceit in her life, death & betrayal, petty crime & arms dealing that made her the perfect candidate to be a corporate spy on behalf of one of umbrella's rivals, the eugenics driven research into the t-virus which would eventually lead to the development of bioweapons for the us military was a revelation not easily stomached . she was in over her head with no out but to continue her mission until she found herself in a living nightmare with no real plan & no backup, a desperate woman donning lies trying & failing to manipulate her way to her mission's success . the desperation of her half-constructed lies that only a rookie like leon would believe ( & even he quickly formed doubts ) is what really cements RE2R as one of my favorite characterizations of ada, she lost control & paid for her failure with the life of her persona, only for that name to become her moniker once she managed to drag herself out of raccoon city's wreckage, one of the few survivors .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ada takes on a very cheeky matter-of-fact tone in this radio conversation, combined with the fact she must've already known about the kidnapping of ashley graham before going into valedobos, might be a hint towards ada herself having tipped off the us government towards ashley's location specifically to rile up the cult as a distraction ( 'couldn't have picked a worse time' ) . this does fall in line with a file from the original game, where the cult suggest a similar theory that i think ada's report on leon confirms outright, as she plans for his involvement in a starring role while she works in the background, mentioning how simple the structuring of the operation was prior to los iluminados capturing the us president's daughter . the kind of thing that tends to complicate matters, thanks krauser .
