bored | paige bueckers
Tumblr media
summary- it’s a school night and paige is playing fortnite while you lay on her bed, bored and desperate for her attention [SMUT]
word count- 1.4k
It was currently a weekday night and you were sprawled out on your girlfriends bed, bored out of your mind as you mindlessly scrolled through your phone.
Sighing, you set the device down, pushing yourself up into a sitting position. Your eyes landed on your girlfriend who was very focused on what looked to be an intense game of Fortnite.
Standing up and walking over to her, you smoothed your hands over her shoulders and rested your chin on her head, watching as she played for a little while; eventually deciding that you wanted to get her attention.
“Paige,” you whined softly in her ear.
“Hm?” Was all she said in response, still absorbed in the video game.
“I’m bored,” you replied, hoping she would get the hint and give you her attention.
“I’m sorry,” she stated simply, completely zoned in on the stupid game.
You rolled your eyes, knowing that you would have to do something more distracting to get her to focus on you. You bit your lip as you moved in front of Paige and straddled her, wrapping your arms around her neck.
At first, she tried to move past you so she could see the computer screen, but she seemed to lose interest in the game once you bucked your hips forward, tilting your head as you gazed at her. Her eyes flickered towards you, looking you up and down before switching the controller off and placing it down on her desk. She leaned back in the chair she was sitting in, a smirk plastered across her face as her hands came to rest on your hips.
“Finally,” you spoke in a hushed tone, not being able to help the way your eyes shifted to her exposed abdomen.
“Sorry, baby,” she smiled, reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.
A sly grin came across your face as an idea popped into your mind. “Prove it,” you dared, testing out how far she would go.
Her eyebrows pinched together, “What do you mean?”
“Prove to me how sorry you are,” you answered, not sure where this confident side of you was coming from.
She smirked once again, now understanding what you wanted. “Bet,” she spoke, her voice raspy and dripping with desire.
Without a second thought, you pressed your lips against hers, relishing in the way her soft lips moved against yours. Her hand came up to your cheek, caressing your skin with her thumb while her tongue poked into your mouth, asking for entry. Giving her what she wanted, you parted your lips just enough for her tongue to slide into your mouth. She scooted forward in her chair, sitting up straighter as both her hands came to hold your waist, encouraging the way your hips rocked back and forth.
Now gripping your ass, she stood up and began walking towards her bed. She plopped you down onto the mattress, your hair splaying out around you as she hovered over you. She stared down at you, eyes darting around your face before eventually locking in on your eyes. After a little while of just staring at each other, you wrapped your legs around her waist, pulling her closer and also reminding her of why you two were in this position to begin with.
Immediately complying, she gingerly moved your hair away from your neck, giving her access to place sloppy and wet kisses all over your skin. She quickly found your sweet spot and your back arched off the bed as her teeth grazing across your skin.
She took the chance to unclip your bra, pulling away from the nape of your neck so she could throw the piece of clothing somewhere in the room.
Paige examined your now bare chest, and you didn’t miss how she squeezed her thighs together and bit her lip.
She maintained eye contact with you as she leaned down towards your boobs, still looking at you as she latched onto one of your breasts; slowly sucking as she took more and more into her mouth.
Your head spun as she kept going, her tongue flicking over your nipple occasionally and her free hand coming up to knead your other boob, pinching your nipple in her hand before she did so.
It was getting hard to keep your moans under control as you stroked her head lovingly, encouraging her to keep going. Squeezing her waist impossibly tighter with your legs, you bucked her hips up, desperate to get any pressure on your pulsing clit.
Paige chuckled against your boob, slightly pulling away to look at you. Confused on why she was laughing, you met her gaze and asked, “What?”
“I can feel you throbbing,” she smiled, bringing her hand down to your soaked core.
Your face flushed with embarrassment, muttering, “Sorry.”
She furrowed her eyebrows, “Don’t be sorry, it’s hot.” She answered, and you internally groaned at how turned on you were.
“Paige,” you breathed out, closing your eyes in pure bliss as she finally touched your center, slowly rubbing your clit with two fingers.
You felt dizzy as she kissed down your torso, skipping down to your legs and hooking her arms under your thighs, yanking you closer to her. You reached down to stroke her head again as she began to place maddening kisses on your inner thighs.
“Fuck,” you exhaled, feeling slightly dizzy, “I need you.”
“I know, baby,” she replied huskily, her face now hovering over your clothed cunt.
“Then do something about it,” you huffed, watching as she sat on her knees in between your legs.
“I will,” she smirked, removing your shorts and underwear in one smooth motion, “Don’t worry.”
Placing both of her hands on your knees, she spread your legs a little wider, getting a good long look at your dripping pussy.
You shifted uncomfortably under her strong gaze. “What’s wrong?” She asked concerned, looking at you again.
“Don’t stare,” you responded quietly, meeting her stare.
“Sorry,” she smiled, shrugging, “I just can’t help it.”
You shook your head, matching her expression and impressed at how smoothly she mad you feel less insecure.
However, your thoughts were soon turned to your girlfriend’s shit-eating grin as she leaned down to your center, flashing one last smirk before diving right in. She instantly began to suck on your clit, catching you by surprise and causing you to inhale sharply. Your brows pinched together as you let out a pitiful whimper, feeling as if you were about to explode as Paige softly bit your clit.
“You taste so good,” she commented, lapping up all of your wetness as if she had never eaten you out before.
One of the things you loved most about having sex with Paige was the amount of praise she gave you. Her commentary aroused you impossibly more and also made you feel comfortable and safe while being in such a vulnerable state.
Your legs began to shake as Paige hooked one long finger inside of you, starting to flick your clit with her tongue all at once.
Adding to the pleasure yourself, you took both your tits in your own hands, groaning as you began kneading them.
“Fuck,” Paige huffed, her breath cold against your pussy. “Keep doing that,” she instructed, her eyes staying on you the whole time.
You could feel your orgasm building as your moans became more and more high-pitched and your walls tightened around Paige’s curling finger.
All it took for you to come was Paige slipping another finger into you, watching you as your jaw dropped in a silent scream, severe waves of pleasure crashing over you. Clasping your hand over your mouth, your back arched once more. You tangled your fingers in Paige’s hair and used your new leverage to frantically grind against her face as you rode out your high.
Squeezing your eyes shut and letting out a shaky breath, you came down from your orgasm, chest heaving and body falling limp. Paige stayed nestled in between your thighs, licking up as much of your cum as she could get, not caring how sensitive you were after finishing.
“Did I make it up to you?” She asked after pulling away, a coy smile playing at her face.
“Yes,” you chuckled.
“Yay,” she whispered sweetly, resting her head on your chest and wrapping her lengthy arms around your waist.
You ran your fingers through her hair as she got settled, watching the way her eyes fluttered shut and her breathing softened.
“Goodnight, Paige.”
“Night, love you,” she replied tiredly.
Drawing patterns on her back, you turned your head to look out the window, taking in the view of the sparkling city lights and eery night sky. Letting out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding, you held Paige tighter against your warm body, smiling softly as she slowly drifted off to sleep, you soon following suit.

too much tongue
A/N: just a short and sweet little billy moment except the writer is immensely unhinged
Pairing: Billy Hargrove x GN!Reader
Summary: You tell Billy he kisses with too much tongue. Billy proves you right. 1.2k words.
Warnings: smut, 18+, handjob, sloppy kissing, talk of tonguing (or frenching), pet names (shortcake, baby), established relationship
Tumblr media
Billy Hargrove. Billy Hargrove who has never had anything good handed to him. Billy Hargrove who knows bite-sized samplers of touch and just fucking. Billy Hargrove who doesn't know he's in desperate need of someone like you. Someone needy for the kind of touch he's after. For the soft kind. The kind that forgets how to bruise. The kind that leaves him sleepy. Dissipates the anger in his temples and kisses him goodnight.
But after one brush with death, he chose to retire. Be someone in the background. It's always safer back here anyways. Please, he's begging to be overlooked. Begging for every passer-by to go without a double take. But he's never seen a prettier passer-by than you.
He didn't get it at first. The pomp and circumstance of pinkies brushing and fingers in his hair and neck kisses. Then you bumped him in the hallway. Just nudged him, really. Jostled him out of place, smack dab in the forefront if only to be known by you. He's a sucker. He'd suffer another cliffhanger if you'd pull him back with your delicate hand in his wildly violent one.
"You use too much tongue," you chirp, "that's the problem." But he's long gone under your touch. One of his hands splayed across his own chest, limbs stretched flat out on his mattress, the low muttering of the TV downstairs, and your fingertips tracing slow stars into his skin.
He grins.
What he likes is that he doesn't smell like sweat anymore. The musk doesn't follow him around. What lingers is you. Your body wash and your perfume and the way you always smell like caramel, poundcake, strawberry, a dollop of buttercream. He likes when it gets stuck on him. Taints him and tucks up against his elbows and his tummy and all the soft muscly parts you plant glossy kisses on when you think he's not paying attention.
"Don't think that's the problem, sweets. Maybe you just got a little mouth," he mumbles, pressing the pad of his thumb to your chin, blunt nail grazing the swoop of your bottom lip. And you lurch forward, eager to prove your point, catching this wet mouth with yours and folding your fingers into his limp curls.
But the point's forgotten. He holds your forearm and cranes you closer where you lay next to him on your stomach. The low light of his room saves him from the red flush marking him flustered. He's not. He doesn't get like that. You taste like maple, and his gums sting at your sweetness. You're his favorite toothache. So he pushes the tip of his tongue into your mouth.
He could crumble when you pull away with a laugh. You pull yourself away, and his head bounces back against the bed. He groans.
"I knew it," you bark, "tryna weasel your tongue in there. That's playing dirty, Hargrove."
"You don't know a thing about playing dirty, shortcake."
It's a bold statement. He's known you long enough. He should know what he's done to you.
"Yeah?" you coo, batting your long lashes up at him like shooting up granulated sugar. His blood gets all thick and syrupy, makes him work a little harder to keep your attention tight on him. Oh, but he doesn't have to work for it at all. Not when you wind your nimble fingers into his gym shorts, fingertips feeling over the ridge beneath his cock. The warmth and steady pulse that follows the contours of your palm.
It gets him purring like a kitten in your hand. Head tilted back, arm outstretched along your spine, tugging at your sleep shirt like a lifeline.
"Gimme a kiss, baby," you beg, pecking his chin and rubbing your thumb up against the frenulum of his thick cock. Coaxing soft sounds out of your angry boy.
He lifts his head like waking from deep slumber, lids heavy when you press your tongue to his lower lip.
"Pot callin' the fuckin' kettle black," he hums, letting his jaw loosen only slightly to let you intrude on the eagerness of his tongue and the tenderness of his mouth. But the filthiness of it all. The way he curses like a sailor and praises you like a god. All from the same vessel. The same eyes and nose and lips and tongue. All for what? For goodness' sake, of course.
"You don't like when I use my tongue, Billy-baby?" you pout. And it'd break his heart if he new you weren't cloying and asking to be ruined. If you didn't have your careful hand pumping his cock, going as slow as he can take it as the wet spot on his shorts grows and precum gathers between your fingers.
"Never said that. Quit puttin' words in my mouth and use your tongue instead, shortcake."
You giggle and squeeze his cock. His brows knit, and you nip at his mouth, sending him spiraling and tugging at the back of your shirt. You're kicking your feet behind you and holding his cheek while he lets his neck to limp in your grasp.
"Very funny," you chirp, dragging one hand up his wet shaft while the other drags a thumb across his slack bottom lip. "Don't tempt me."
"Foilin' all my plans for the night," he pants, bucking into your hand and cradling your wrist intently.
He definitely loves you. More than anything. He loves the way you leave him bare and spread out across your bed. You get him on the verge of begging no matter what. And you're always sweet about it. Understanding when he's having a bad day, and understanding when he cums in his jeans, and understanding when all he wants to do is get his mouth on you.
"Won'tcha let me have a little fun?" he simpers. And the roll of his hips is wild, you don't even have to twist your palm. But you do. Though just the implication of your soft hand is enough to get him off for good.
"Sure, Billy. Only 'cause I secretly like it when you put your tongue down my throat."
"Knew it the whole time. You're a bad liar, baby. You're lucky you're cute." His mouth hangs open when you readjust: straddling his thigh, still jerking your hand up and down just to get him twitching, but now hovering over him for a better angle. And to give him better grip on your hips.
The added friction of your thigh against him coupled with your hand and the warmth of your mouth renders him excited. Practically bursting at the seams and teeming with satisfaction in your sticky palm.
When you purr into his mouth, his fingers dig into your sides. He's never felt so cared for. So looked after and understood. And with his tongue buried in your mouth, he kisses you hard and thrusts hard into your hand just a few more times. To ride out the ecstasy while you use your other hand to smooth down his sweaty, golden curls.
"Have I ever told you how good you are at kissing?" you tease. He shifts his weight beneath you and lets out something of a deep squeal when you give his cock a playful squeeze. Minx.

Xavier X Reader Angst
Hi! So I have been getting more and more restless sine I discovered Love and Deepspace and I’ve been enthralled by all the edits going around, especially Xavier’s, this is angst I’ve been thinking about since I saw a specific taylor swift edit of him haha, feel free to inbox me requests and such and I’ll see what I can do if you enjoy this! :D This is - by the way - an AU where I can pretend I know the circumstances of Philos
Tumblr media
The wind whips at your hair, forcing you to hold it out of your face as you stare at Xavier. You couldn’t help but admire how adorable he looks when he is trying to figure something out. You couldn’t blame him for being confused, how was he to know you knew everything. Or at least as much as you possibly could. For someone who never gave much away, he talked a lot in his sleep, mumbling your name but in an unfamiliar way. He said it so reverently, with a slight accent you’d never heard him speak with, parts of your name sounding so foreign to how he would usually say it. Not to mention accidentally stumbling across his recordings for his queen. His queen that shared your name. It had taken you quite some time to figure it out, pouring over it in your mind for weeks before you came to the only conclusion that made sense. You didn’t have it all figured out, but you knew Xavier didn’t belong here.
That he longed to go back to her.
For a while you had pretended that this wasn’t the case, but now you had it in your mind it was hard not to notice the wistful way you would catch him staring up at the sky, or the way he would study your features for longer than necessary. You didn’t blame him for looking for her in you, you were clinging to him, not wanting to give him up. But one day when he cried your- her name in his sleep, fitful and scared, you knew it wasn’t right. He wasn’t yours, not really. You had watched him all night when you decided that, stroked his hair hummed to him to soothe him. You got comfort that he calmed down with the attention, that this comfort you could provide before you worked on a way to help him get back. Which is what led you to now, this moment where the swirling portal situated behind Xavier was baffling him.
“What’s going on?” He whispered, barely audible over the wind.
“You can go home now. You can see her again.” You smiled at him, a sad and tired smile from all the late nights you pulled working on his surprise. Xavier’s eyes widen but he doesn’t say anything, mind working a mile a minute.
“I heard you in your sleep. Heard the recordings.” Xavier is rapidly switching between panic and confusion trying to figure out what to feel. “It’s OK, I know what I was. I’m not mad, this is my gift to you for all the time we spent together.” Xavier takes a step towards you hesitantly, looking back at the portal quickly before walking towards you. Confused, you stay where you are. He takes over for you, gently taking your hair and holding it out of the way for you.
“I don’t think I want to go back anymore.” He cradles one side of your face with his free hand, eyes searching yours intently.
Even though you’re offering him something he thought he wanted more than anything, in this moment he can only focus on how pretty you look backlit by the sunset. How your eyes crinkle when you smile, all the little things you did that made you so different to his queen. The little dances you would do in the kitchen when you thought he wasn’t looking, how your face looked when you concentrated on a specific part in a book, one he suggested for you. Even the laugh you hated, he realises for the first time that you weren’t as close as he could get to her, you were who he really wanted. You smile again and lean into his hand before wrapping your arms around him.
“Could you sway with me like we used to?” You ask gently, shivering from the cold. He wraps his arms around you again and his scent overwhelms you, starting to sway to a rhythm only he knows.
After a moment, you pull back slightly, craning your neck to look into Xavier’s eyes, he has a small smile on his face that you start to fixate on. You keep your eyes tracked on his face even as you push him as hard as you can.
Xavier’s eyes go round with shock, confusion and then realisation. The swaying was just to get him closer to the portal. There are tears running down your face as he staggers back, trying to steady himself in a pointless struggle.
“I love you, Xavier.” You send him off with a smile.
“Wait! I-” Xavier’s words are cut off as he slips through the portal. His desperate eyes the last thing you see before he’s gone. The portal collapses shortly after, only able to sustain itself for so long and you feel the same collapsing to your knees, finally letting sobs rack your body.
Tumblr media
I would be so down to write a second part about Xavier coming to terms with what just happened :o if anyones interested please let me know!

Sevika x Reader One Shot - Cuddles/Fluff
Tumblr media
Just a cute, domestic headcanon about cuddling with the bionic brute herself! Started as a headcanon and became a one shot. Gender-neutral reader, No TWs except for the fact that it has a super cheesy ending ❤️
You laid there in serenity— sleeping peacefully in your lover’s arms. You and Sevika had a mutual day off and were basking in the warm, wholesome laziness of your situation. Sevika, due to habit, woke up before the sun rose. This was a most opportune time for her to dote on you while you slept. Despite her tough demeanor, Sevika tended to turn into a sensitive, loving girlfriend in your presence. She selectively placed a few stray hairs from your eyes to behind your ear during the early hours of the morning; nothing to do but to wait for her somnolent partner to wake.
With your head against Sevika’s chest, your eyes eventually opened and adjusted to the light of early dawn.
“Good mornin’ beautiful,” she greeted you, whispering with a subtle smile. You were still in Sevika’s arms, surrounded by her large frame.
“It’s too early…” you groaned and placed your head back on her chest. You were burrowed into her even farther than before.
“You got to get up at some point, sweetheart.” She nudged her arms upward, signaling for you to rise out of bed. You simply shook your head and resumed your stubborn silence. Sevika did nothing more to provoke you. She embraced the slothlike nature of your morning and continued brushing her hand through your hair. A breath of tranquility and satisfaction escaped your body. “Can we stay like this forever?” You ask in a naïve tone.
“However long you want, sweetheart.”

You Make Everyday Feel Like It's Christmas (Joe X Reader)
Tumblr media
You Make Everyday Feel Like It’s Christmas
Summary: It’s your second Christmas with Joe. Christmas has a new meaning for you this year. But you’ve always loved this time of year. But this time, you want to bring a little holiday cheer to your fiancé. Joe doesn’t “hate” Christmas but he’s not quite feeling up to it this year. Can you manage to get him in the Christmas spirit? Or will he be a scrooge?
Prompts: Shopping, “I cannot believe you’re making me go shopping on Christmas Eve.”// “Don’t be a Scrooge.”// “I’m freezing, come warm me up.”// baking
Rating: 18+ (for the fact at the end, it alludes to premarital sex)
Also, special thanks to @josephs-quinns for making my header and making my visions come to life. Love you ❤️❤️❤️
You were never one to put off Christmas shopping. Matter of fact, you thought people were crazy for waiting until the very last day to finish their Christmas shopping. The thought alone made your stomach twist with anxiety, making it feel like it was bubbling up into your throat. How could people be so calm when they were working against the clock to make last minute Christmas magic happen? You had never understood it—until now.
“I can’t believe you’re making me go shopping on Christmas Eve.”, Joe groaned as he slid on his peacoat, fixing his scarf just perfect around his neckline.
The weather in London was absolutely frigid in comparison to what you were used to in the United States. Moving to London to be with your fiancé was something that you never imagined would be on your bingo card. But, here you were. You had been together for almost two years now and you knew that being engaged in under two years sounded a little bizarre, but Joe had claimed he knew from the beginning that you were the one for him.
You knew how it sounded. It sounded very cliché looking back, but you loved him and you were happy with him. This was only the second Christmas you both were spending with each other. Tomorrow’s plans were clear. You were spending half Christmas Day with his mom and his stepdad and the other with his dad and his stepmom. Joe never really had talked a lot about his parents divorce and how his childhood was.
Fortunately, you couldn’t relate. Your mom and dad had been happily married for thirty years. The plan was to fly in and see them the week after Christmas with Joe in tow. At first, you weren’t sure how your parents would take you moving to another country to be with your fiancé. However they both were supportive of your relationship.
They had always been supportive of you and your decisions throughout life, making comments that they had raised a smart daughter, you had your head on your shoulders, etc. All the ones most parents said about their responsible children. It made your feel good, made you feel like you had completed your due diligence of being their child.
You rolled your eyes playfully at Joe before laughing lightly. “Come on, babe. Don’t be a Scrooge.”
Joe sighed lightly. “I’m not being a Scrooge. Just wondering why we waited until the absolute last minute to buy my mum and dad’s presents along our mate’s.”, he tried to feign a fake smile and chuckle.
Something with his energy seemed off, but you couldn’t quite place your finger on it.
“They were your friends first. And you can’t show up to your parent’s houses empty handed.”
Joe held your peacoat, helping you slip into it. One thing about him was certain. He was a gentleman.
“It’s going to be so busy.”, he groaned lightly.
He wasn’t doing such a great job at hiding his disdain for the holiday activity you both were about to take part in.
“Why don’t we just try and make the best of it? You know I hate waiting until last minute to do anything especially Christmas shopping. My anxiety is through the roof.”, you admitted as he grabbed the door knob, opening the door to your all’s house that you shared.
Immediately, you both felt the nip of the winter wind causing you both to grimace. You pulled your peacoat tighter, beginning to button it quick and in a hurry. It was something you had learned to do in the past year of living here.
“I’m going to try.”, he looked at you. “I started the car so it’d be warm for us.”
“Thanks.”, you smiled softly as he let you out the door first, carefully locking it behind you both.
He rushed down the steps in order to make it to the car before you did. A smile came across your face as you remembered why. Him being the gentleman his parents had raised him to be, there was no way you were opening your own car door. He never gave the opportunity for that to happen and he wouldn’t either. It was something that was important to him, just one of the many he ways he showed you he cared.
You looked up at him, feeling the cold air nip at your nose. He finally gave you a soft smile as he opened the car door, making sure you got in safely, and closed the door once he mad sure your appendages had made it safely into the car. You watched him through the defrosted windshield coming over to the other side, wasting no time in getting before shutting the door. He rubbed his hands together easily, shivering lightly.
Joe wasn’t usually affected by the cold. He was used to it, being raised in London and all. Winters were harsher there. He had told you that before you moved to be with him. He was brutally honest about everything before allowing you to move to be with him. But you respected that.
“Cold?”, you asked lightly.
“I’m freezing.”, he admitted with a soft chuckle as he leaned over, giving you the perfect position to kiss him in. “Warm me up.”
He flashed his puppy dog brown eyes at you playfully, the ones he used when he was being a little cheeky. You’d never admit it with words, but he already knew that he could win you over with that look.
“When we get home.”, you smirked back at him before leaning down and giving him a kiss.
“Fine.”, he feigned being hurt.
You smirked over at him as you linked your phone to his car. One way or another, you were determined to get him in the Christmas spirit no matter what it took. Scrolling through your phone, you decided on a song finally to kick off the car ride. The beginning notes of “Like It’s Christmas” by the Jonas Brothers came on, causing you to begin giggling to yourself. Joe shot you a look immediately, a coy smirk working its way across his lips.
“Really?”, he asked through a small laugh.
“Come on, babe. It’s one of my favorites.”
“I’m aware, love. Just didn’t know we had to endure the boy bands along with the other chaos surrounding today.”
Your eyes panned down to your lap, trying to ignore the pang in your chest. He didn’t mean it like that, did he? Shaking your head lightly, you continued to try and convince yourself that he didn’t mean it like that. The happy, bright Christmas music continued to play in the background but now you weren’t really in the mood to sing now. Joe’s grip tightened on the steering wheel as you all continued to the mall. You were beginning to wonder if this was the best idea. But you were determined to put him in the Christmas spirit. That was your ultimate goal.
“I’m kidding.”, he choked out.
But you didn’t really feel like he was joking.
After a little convincing, he finally got you singing even if he wasn’t doing much of it himself.
As Joe searched for parking, you could begin to tell his patience was beginning to wear thin. He swore a little, a few obscenities coming out of his mouth at how crowded and congested it was. Once he noticed you had heard him or was watching him, he abruptly cut them short. He was trying his best for you whether you knew it or not. He was struggling to be in the spirit this year but how could he tell you? The answer was simple. He wouldn’t.
It had taken a week or two after Thanksgiving for him to finally get his ass in gear and help you put the tree up. He remembered you saying back home, you usually put the tree up after Thanksgiving. Like literally the night of or the next day. He could remember laughing, thinking you were a little obsessed with Christmas but he found it cute, if he was being honest. It’s part of what made you—well, you. He didn’t understand what was really going on with him this year.
But he didn’t have much time to think about that as he shifted the car, placing it in park and eyes panning over to you.
“Ready, love?”, he asked with a sigh.
“Yes.”
"Here goes nothing.”, he smirked easily.
Westfield was always busy. But it was especially busy at Christmas time. Today, was no exception. Maybe it was even worse. Joe was going to go with worse.
“So where are we going first?”, he asked, grabbing your hand lightly.
“Uh—what about we hit up Burberry? Weren’t you wanting to get your dad a new scarf?”
Joe shrugged. “I guess.”
“You guess?”, you repeated back. “Joe, I need you to help me here. You know your family and friends better than I know them. I get we’ve been together almost two years but you know more of what they like.”
“Sure, we can get dad a new Burberry scarf Sounds good, love.”
Entering the mall, Joe could feel his blood pressure rising. It was so crowded—especially to be Christmas Eve. Hadn’t people finished already? They should have, you all included. Joe began to tug at his scarf lightly, feeling as though it was choking him. He needed to breathe.
“Can you at least give me some input? Gifts are special. I love gift giving. It’s my love language.”
Joe also loved to give—taking his friends out to eat or cooking a meal, buying you things here and there just to show you he loved you and cared so you were confused as to why he was being indifferent now.
“I know, love.”
You sighed lightly as you felt like you had to practically drag him into Burberry. The employee greeted you both, asking if you were looking for anything specific. You explained you’d like to find a scarf for your future father in law.  She led you to the patterned scarves, leaving you both to make the decision on which would fit Joe’s dad the best.
“What about this one?”, you turned back to show him the archived beige cashmere scarf.
“Yeah, looks good.”
Joe barely flicked his eyes up from his cell phone.
“Joe.”
Joe’s eyes pulled up from his cell phone once again.. “I said it looks good, love. I’m sure he’ll love it.”
You huffed lightly in frustration before closing your eyes and trying to remind yourself what today was about. Yes, Joe was being totally intolerable right now but you were still very much in the Christmas spirit and you were not about to let him ruin that for you. You would convert him before it was all said and done.
Picking up the scarf, your voice came out sharper than you had intended. “Okay, let’s checkout.”
What was so important on his phone that it couldn’t wait? This behavior was very unusual for him. He never let anything distract him around you—not his phone, not anything. He followed you to the counter, wasting no time in handing you his wallet to pay for everything. Sighing, you forked over his debit card and watched as the cashier swiped it and handed it back to you, allowing you to place it back in his wallet. She asked if this was a gift (it was a different associate than earlier) to which you answered yes.
Proceeding, she asked if you all wanted it gift wrapped. Once again, you found yourself being the only one to answer her question. It was as if she could sense some tension between you both.
“Finishing up last minute Christmas shopping?”, she tried to make casual conversation.
“Yeah, we’re usually never this late.”, you fake laughed.
She sensed it. “It happens to the best of us.”
“It does.”, you agreed, almost gritting your teeth and hoping Joe could hear the annoyance laced in your voice.
“Here you are. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for shopping with us today.”
A fake smile spread across your lips. “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well.”
Once again, Joe was not interacting with you, this only causing for your blood to boil further.  However, he finally put his cell phone away for a few minutes. You were glad—because you were afraid you would have said something you may have regretted. You didn’t want to fight with him today. Sure, every couple has their disagreements but which ones argue near Christmas time? You didn’t want you all to be the one. After taking a small break to run to the restroom and talk some sense into yourself and attempt to give him the benefit of the doubt, you felt a little more positive.
“So what all do we need?”
“What do you mean, love?”
“What all are you planning on getting everyone? All we have so far is a Burberry sweater for your dad.”
“Uh, let’s see.”, Joe began. “I guess we can get Wes some top shelf booze.”
“Okay. That leaves Ollo and your mom.”
“I’m not sure what to get Ollo.”, Joe admitted.
“Doesn’t he like photography?”
Every answer that you were getting from Joe was like pulling teeth. It didn’t—and shouldn’t be this hard to pick up gifts for your loved ones. You spent a lot of time throughout the year thinking of the perfect gifts to give everyone in your life. You didn’t understand what was holding him up. Finally, you decided to help him.
“What about a new sleek leather camera bag?”
“Yeah, that’s good.”
Good. That was the best adjective he could come up with to describe what you considered to be a very thoughtful gift for his friend. The rest of the day felt almost like agony. You all had spent more time than you had intended at the mall, totaling five hours in what could have only taken a couple of hours. It was five-thirty, almost six. The mall was closing at six. Joe carried most of the bags. It seemed like it was totally against his will which only dampened your mood further.
You all had gotten Ollo his leather camera bag, Wes his top shelf booze, and his mom a Gucci scarf and gloves.
“Ready to go, love? They’re closing in thirty minutes. And I don’t know about you but I’m so ready to get out of here and head home.”
“Yeah.”, came your short response.
You were at the end of your fuse. Walking towards the exit, Joe attempted to grab your hand with his free one. Loosely, you allowed him to intertwine his with yours, hoping he would get the hint. But it didn’t seem that he had yet. The winter wind nipped at your nose as you all walked outside to the car. Joe let go of your hand to unlock the car door. And before he could even attempt to come to your side and open the door for you, you beat him to the punch.
Frustrated and hurt didn’t even begin to describe your emotions right now. Joe looked confused as you slammed the door shut lightly, grabbing your seatbelt and fastening it. You watched in the mirror as he shook it off and loaded all the bags inside the car before getting in himself and starting the car. Your phone automatically linked back up, Christmas songs beginning to play in a loop. You were no longer in the mood to be joyous and in the spirit.
“Love?”
“Hm?”
“Are you okay? You seem—off.”
Joe tried to start the conversation lightly, easing into it.
“I’m fine.”, you insisted, crossing your arms.
Your body language definitely indicated otherwise.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”, you snapped, almost instantly regretting it but it was enough for him to stop prodding.
The rest of the car ride home was in silence other than the radio playing upbeat Christmas songs. Ones you would usually sing along to, but not today. Not now. Ten minutes away from home, you cut the radio off  and let the rest of the ride be in complete silence. Joe knew he had fucked up and in a big way. The sun had set by the time you all pulled into your driveway. The outside light illuminated the driveway as he placed the car in park, shutting it off.
You wasted no time in unbuckling and grabbing your fair share of presents to carry inside.
“Do you have the house keys?”, you asked dryly.
“Yeah, here.”, Joe handed them to you and he could have sworn you almost ripped them out of his hands.
He watched as you marched up to the door, unlocking it, and disappeared inside. It took him a few minutes to catch up, but when he entered the house he noticed you had set everything down on the couch and had disappeared into the bedroom. The door was closed. His brown eyes panned to the Christmas tree, the one you always plugged in as soon as you all arrived home from whatever errands you had to run. It sat in darkness. His heart sank knowing something was wrong with you.
He sat the armful of presents on the couch beside your pile before he hurriedly kicked his shoes off, racing to your all’s shared bedroom. He turned the doorknob but it didn’t open.
“Baby?”
No answer. You had never given him the silent treatment before. Sighing, he tried the door again but to no avail. It was obvious you didn’t want to be bothered. What had he done that was so wrong? He needed to figure it out and fast. Walking back over to the couch, he sat done on the section that was clear of the pile of presents. What could he do to fix whatever he had broken? The house was silent. The silence only feeding into his dilemma.
He didn’t have much time to wallow in his woes before his phone dinged. Wasting no time, he picked it up and looked at the name. Wes.
-Hey. What time are we doing dinner Tuesday?
Joe typed back quickly.
-We were thinking around six. Does that work?
A swoosh indicated his message had sent.
It was just a few seconds before his phone dinged again.
-Sounds good. Finish up your last minute Christmas shopping with Y/N?
He sighed before typing back.
-Yeah, we did. But I feel like she’s mad at me.
-How come?
Joe sighed, beginning to text with a recount of the day. He started from the very beginning and worked his way through your all’s entire day. Joe’s heart sank into his stomach, realizing where and how he had probably went wrong once he saw the entire day in a tangible, typed messaged. From the beginning, he hadn’t seemed very thrilled that you all were going last minute Christmas shopping. Then, he wasn’t exactly thrilled with your music choices.
-I know Christmas is usually hard for you and it’s not exactly your favorite. Especially since your parents divorced. But it sounds like she was really trying to include you and make you happy this Christmas. It’s your first as an engaged couple.  She may feel like you could care less and she’s hurt by that.
-How do I fix it?
Joe felt stupid even sending that question to Wes. But he needed an idea where to start.
-Give in and get in the Christmas spirit.
Wesley made it sound so easy. But before Wesley could even respond, Joe had an idea brewing in his head. He had been really shitty in the fiancé department today, especially when you tried to include him in the sing-alongs in the car, picking out his friends and family’s Christmas presents (which you helped put a lot of thought in, proving you cared about them just as much as he did), and just making the best of  the day together with someone you loved.
Rising from the couch, he went over and plugged the tree in. It instantly lit up the small corner of the living room, making it feel more cozy and comfy. He admired it for a moment, the glare of the lights on the tree reflecting on the various pictures of you both hanging on the wall. In all the pictures, you both looked so happy and in love. Step one was complete.
Joe’s phone dinged again, reminding him that he hadn’t viewed the message from Wes. But he didn’t think he needed to. He knew what he needed to do. Making his way into the kitchen, he flipped on the lights and pulled a few ingredients from the fridge before slipping your very merry apron on. You had a special one just for the holidays to make things a little more festive. He couldn’t help but chuckle under his breath. It made him smile. You did the cutest things.
His mom always made the best gingerbread cookies at Christmas time. And he was about to attempt to recreate that recipe. They probably wouldn’t be as good as hers, but it was worth a try, right? He had made them with her most of the time, especially when he was a little boy. It was time to keep the tradition alive. What else could be better to set the mood than putting on a little Christmas music?
He turned on the playlist you had made, specifically for the holidays. You had shared it with him on Spotify. The festive music began filling the house as he mixed the ingredients in a bowl, landing the flour everywhere but where it needed to go. The kitchen almost looked slightly hazy, causing him to laugh lightly. He had to admit this was kinda fun, making him feel a little warm and fuzzy inside. All he needed was you to make this feel complete.
Another idea popped into his brain, one he could maybe use to coerce you out of the bedroom. You loved hot chocolate. Swiss Miss was your favorite with the tiny little marshmallows but you always added some more to give it the perfect amount. Digging in the cabinets, he found a packet. He followed the instructions and heated up a cup of hot water before mixing the packet of hot chocolate mix into it. He managed to find your stash of mini marshmallows and poured a few into the cup, making it look like something out of Hallmark movie.
He had paused his baking because he needed you to help him finish them. It didn’t feel right to continue on without you. Grabbing your cup of hot chocolate, he closed his eyes and attempted to talk himself up before reaching the bedroom door. He knocked gently.
“Love. Can you open up?”
A few seconds went by and he wondered if you were going to let him in or continue to shut him out. His hope was fading, a sigh escaping him as he almost turned to go. But you opened the door, sniffling lightly.
“Joe?”
“Yes, love?”, he spun around carefully, keeping the hot chocolate from spilling.
“Did you make me—hot chocolate?”
“I did.”
“You added the marshmallows just like I like them.”
He laughed nervously. “Of course I did. I know how much you love them.”
You smiled lightly, your sniffles fading. He could tell you had been crying and that made him feel even worse. It was like a dagger through his heart. He hated seeing you sad and didn’t even want to think about you crying.
“Look, I’m sorry I’ve been a jerk today. I wasn’t the best fiancé. And for that, I’m sorry. Christmas has just always been a difficult time for me.”, he looked down nervously at his feet before looking back up at you.
Your face was sympathetic. “Joe.”
“And I realize you were just trying to make me feel better and include me in the holiday festivities. I’m very sorry I was such an ass today.”
“Joe.”
“I love you baby and I just—”
“Joe.”, you spoke louder, trying to gain his attention, finally succeeding even if you had to interrupt his sentence. “Are you making something gingerbread or are you burning one of my candles?”
“I’m attempting to bake using my mother’s recipe for gingerbread man cookies. It only seems fitting you help me—if you want to.”
“Of course, I do.”, you came closer and leaned in, placing a kiss on his cheek. “And can I have my hot chocolate before it becomes cold chocolate?”, you teased.
“Yeah.”, he laughed nervously before handing it to you, you following behind him.
You noticed he had plugged the tree up, giving light to the living room. It was one of your favorite things at Christmas time. Seeing the tree light up the room in almost complete darkness.
“You plugged the tree in?”, you asked, taking a sip of your hot chocolate.
It felt like a warm hug.
“I did.”, he smiled back at you, the sparkle finally in his brown eyes.
“And you’re playing my Christmas playlist.”
A smirk was creeping across your face.
“I am.”, he smiled back at you.
You couldn’t help but smile as you followed him into the kitchen, noticing all the ingredients and gingerbread cookie cutters on the counter hidden in a pile of flour. He was really trying and that meant more to you than anything.
“Christmas has just been hard for me since my parents divorced. I’m sorry—it’s not fair to you. I just remember the holidays being difficult because I had to split time between both sides of my family and between both parents. They love me and I’m thankful for that—I even feel selfish for feeling this way but it was hard when all my friends got to celebrate with their perfect families.”, Joe began rolling the dough out.
“I’m sorry that it’s been difficult for you, babe. But we have each other now. We’re family—we can start our own traditions. We can see your parents but maybe set some traditions up just for us?”
Joe looked over at you. “I’d love that.”
“Yeah? Me too.”
“Maybe soon we can make these with our kids.”
You giggled. “I’d love that. So much.”
You both leaned in and shared a soft, tender kiss. As you both pulled away to admire each other, your favorite modern Christmas song came on. The one from earlier, the Jonas Brother’s “Like It’s Christmas”. Joe couldn’t help but begin to smirk as you both pulled away.
The snow on the ground, love in the air
The sleigh bells are ringing
This is what it’s all about
The fire is warm, the angles are singing
Joe watched you intently, smiling from ear to ear as he watched you begin singing the lyrics. It was a matter before he joined in on the second part.
And I don’t want to miss a single thing
Don’t wanna put end to all this cheer
But as long as you’re with me, it’s always the time of the year
You both sang the chorus, looking deeply into each other’s eyes as you continued to work on cutting out gingerbread men.
You make every day feel like it’s Christmas
Never wanna stop
Feeling’ like the first thing on your wishlist
Right up at the top
I can’t deny what I’m feeling inside
Nothin’ fake about the way you bring me to life
You make every day feel like it’s Christmas
Ever day that I’m with you
“You do know the lyrics.”, you teased him, taking another sip of your hot chocolate while raising your eyebrows.
“Only because it’s true.”
“What’s true?”
“You make everyday feel like it’s Christmas. Like you’re the best present I’ve ever received and you make me the happiest man in the entire world and I can’t wait to marry you.”
“I love you.”, you sighed dreamily.
“I love you too.”
“Wanna start on that new tradition?”
“And what’s that?”, Joe teased.
“Well, if you’re serious about making these cookies with our own babies in a few years.”
“I’ll meet you in the bedroom.”
“By the way, the holiday apron—very sexy.”, you smirked, sitting your hot chocolate down.

Love Machine
Tumblr media
Dieter Bravo x gn!you
Summary: One shot. Dieter just wants to make you smile.
Notes: Dieter is an absolute simp when he finds his person.
“Hey sweet thing,” Dieter greeted you as soon as you got home, taking your bag off your shoulder and hanging your coat for you. He asked you about your day before you give him a sweet, lingering kiss. He would always greet you when you came home but today it was just weird, a little too enthusiastic. You figured he must have broken your new favourite mug or shrunk another sweater trying to be helpful and do the washing. When he started massaging your shoulders as you walked towards the bedroom to change you called him out on his behaviour.
“Can I not just lavish you with attention?” he pouted.
“You can, and you do, but you’re up to something,” you eye him playfully as you turn to face him, sliding your hands up over his shoulders to dance your fingertips through the curls at his nape.
“You read me like a poem,” he sighed blissfully.
“So what is it my love?”
“I got something in the mail today, and I want to show you,”
“Well, where is it?”
“Babe, come on! This me, I’m not just going to show you, I’m going to show you,” he guided you to sit on the chair conveniently placed in the middle of the bedroom before disappearing for a few minutes. When he returned he handed you a glass of wine before setting up the speakers and pressing play, a cheeky grin on his face.
The first bars of Love Machine by The Miracles starts playing and you giggle; it’s a song you’ve often teased Dieter with, telling him he’s your Love Machine. You had a full and varied sex life together; Dieter's incredible amount of experience was comforting when you wanted to try something new. Your heart swelled for your sweet man as he started dancing for you, miming along to the words and pulling out all of his best moves. He’s in his customary crocs and green house coat, just to keep things extra Dieter.
As the chorus approached again he turned his back, giving you a coquettish look, throwing his robe off to reveal his bare shoulders and you hollered in approval.
“I’m just a love machine…”
Dieter turns suddenly revealing the tiniest pair of shiny, gold hot pants you’d ever seen, and he starts almost giving you a lap dance, dropping his robe to the ground.
“…And I won’t work for nobody but you,
I’m just a love machine…”
“Ah, no touching,” he smacks your hand away lightly.
“…A hugging and kissing fiend,”
You nearly spill your wine from laughing so hard; from the goofy grin on his face you had given him just the reaction he wanted. You started dancing in your seat, singing quietly along to the music, enjoying Dieter’s show, wolf whistling as he twerked in front of you. As the song ends, he sits himself in your lap, a beaming smile on his face as he gasped for air.
“Fuck, my cardio sucks,” he chuckled. “Do you like them?” he snapped the waistband of the hot pants onto his skin.
“You were getting your Kylie Minogue on, it was incredible. She has nothing on you,”
“These are hers!” he mentions excitedly. “From the video,”
“No wonder you’re busting out of them,” your head was thrown back as you laughed. “Will and Benny are trying to make a break for it,” you mention his balls breaching the hem as he sits in your lap. “What made you get them?”
“You’ve been working so hard recently, and you’ve been so tired. I just wanted to do something to make you smile,”
“You are so fucking amazing, thank you. You have made me more than smile, the fact that you would go so far just to make me laugh makes me fall in love with you all over again,”
“Fall far enough to marry me?”

Ficlet for @sterekweekly word prompt #sterekweeklytender @warmandfluffybingocards square baking/cooking together @sterekbingo square a/b/o
burnt cookies
Rating: General Audiences Relationship: Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Eli Hale Tags: Established Relationship, Omega Stiles Stilinski, Alpha Derek Hale, Mpreg, Fluff, Established Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski. Mates Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski are Eli Hale's Parents, Domestic Fluff, Baking, Married Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Kid Fic
Stiles looked down at the sheet of cookies, or, well—burnt cookies. If it was the last thing he did, he was going to get the cookies right. Nice and tender, chewy and moist. It didn't help that Elijah insisted on helping with everything and Stiles loved him so much that, of course, he let him help with everything.
Then he’d get distracted once the cookies were in the oven baking, taking care of Elijah and playing games…taking naps. All of which was tiring Stiles out the closer he got to his due date with baby Ava.
He was on the verge of going to the store and buying the perfect cookies before Derek got home. But Elijah would rat him out, just like all five-year-olds did because they couldn't keep anything to themselves.
“So what do you think, kiddo?”
Elijah looked quizzically at the cookie dough and back up at Stiles. “Can you not burn them this time Daddy?”
Stiles should feel mortified that Elijah was calling him out on burning all the batches of cookies before this one, but he was also brutally honest because he was five years old.
“Let’s hope so, buddy. Maybe this will be the batch that comes out perfect. What do you say we try this one more time before we go to the store and buy up all the cookies they have?”
Elijah nodded, his hair flopping, and sometimes Stiles was thankful his son was a werewolf or his head might just fall off with how hard he shook it.
They both looked down at the cookies before Stiles helped Elijah off of the counter and they stepped back from the stove. Stiles opened it and then slid the cookie sheet inside the oven onto the top shelf. He closed the door and sighed, pushing buttons on the stove to set the timer one last time.
If this batch burned, he just wasn't meant to bake cookies for Derek today, or maybe ever.
They both peered into the oven window, the light from the coils shining down on the cookies as they bubbled and cooked.
“Well…” Stiles started, then looked at Elijah expectantly. “...I guess we have to wait now.”
Elijah giggled and looked at the cookies with his big, hazel eyes. “Maybe we should stay to make sure they don't burn, Daddy…”
Stiles looked back into the oven, watching the dough bubble. “I don't think that’s going to make them cook any faster…”
“But if we watch them, they won't burn and then we can eat cookies before Dad gets home.” Elijah’s eyes were big and hopeful as he stared into the oven again with Stiles.
“I think that’ll just make them take longer. How about we go sit on the couch and read your book for school?” Stiles smiled and wrapped his arms around Elijah, giving him a kiss atop his head.
He knew better than to pick him up so close to Ava’s arrival, especially because it would kill his back and he’d pay for it later.
Elijah looked thoughtful as he looked up at Stiles. “Okay!” He bounded off toward the living room and Stiles rubbed his belly as Ava gave her input on the whole ordeal.
The cookies ended up burning after they’d gotten wrapped up in first one book and then another, which meant that Stiles ended up Instacarting cookies to eat for dessert that night.
Either way, Elijah never stopped laughing at the burnt cookies and Stiles trying to dispose of them all before Derek got home.
It was a great day.

៚spring
eren loves spring. it''s his favourite season of the year, especially when he gets to see you dressed in flowy dresses that compliment the shape of your body. when the two of you hang out, he sometimes stops and picks up some random flower only to wrap it around your finger kinda like an engagement ring. that's his way of saying that he'll stay, that he'll always be there for you and you only, no one else.
eren loves spring, when you get to lay on a soft blanket near the vacation house, you placing wet kisses on his bare shoulders that make him weak, your bodies becoming one, with hands intertwined. having him kiss every inch of you, whispering his devotion, his love for you under the sun. he doesn't care that it's slightly cold outside, not when he gets to see you like this. he buries his face into your locks, his thumb grazing over the jewellery on your finger.
eren loves spring, because it was then when he made you his, forever.

✨Weyler Week Day 1 Submission✨
Tumblr media
"Okay, so I know you said no to wearing any silly hats or things like that but," I prefaced as I opened the plastic bag and pulled out a pair of ghostly turquoise blue striped ears coated in clear sequin. Across the top were black and violet silk flowers and cascading from down from the back was a matching tattered veil with ribbons patterned in the same print as the mansions walls. "They're limited edition, they're inspired by a murderous bride, and the flower crown part looks like the same one you wore last year for Día de los Muertos." Watching as Wednesday carefully--curiously--removed them from my hands I hesitated. "S-So...do you like them?"
Her brows furrowed as she stared at them a moment longer; rotating them as she did. "I don't...hate them..."
"So you like them?"
"Possibly." Looking at the bag, she raised a brow. "What else is in there?"
"Oh," I said dumbly as I removed the matching pair made of velvet in the same color but with a striped tophat as its decoration. "The slain groom ears. It's a matching set."

Stuck with me
Tumblr media
Prompt: After a long day at work and a bad day overall in general, all you are looking forward to is to hug your boyfriend and cuddle with him and your puppy.
Tags: fluff, some angst i guess but fluff overall, established relationship, pet names, gender neutral y/n
Word count: 3.4k
You rest your head on the cold window of the bus and sigh, the window getting a bit foggy from the hot breath that left your lips. Today was horrible for so many reasons and you don’t even know where to begin.
It could be that you ran late for work today and got scolded by your boss and your team leader, but in the morning while you were running after the bus a car passed you so fast that splashed water on your light coloured suit pants given that it snowed all week and there was dirty melted snow everywhere, you just hope you didn’t catch a cold. And given that you were very late to work, you had to stay overtime and get everything done. Thankfully it was a Friday and you have the whole weekend to destress and prepare mentally for a new week.
While you were watching out the window and waiting for your stop, it hit you why your day was so bad: your boyfriend wasn’t home to wish you to have a good day today. He was out walking your dog. That is totally it. You feel silly thinking it but it makes complete sense. You will have a talk with him when you see him.
Once you are one bus stop away from the station you have to get off at, you stand up and almost fall when the driver suddenly pushes the break and then hear a bunch of car honks, causing you to have a headache. You hold on to the bar with all your might, but you still hit your hip on one of the seats because of the sudden break. At last your stop comes right after and you get off, glad that this day was finally coming to an end.
You walk the three minutes that are in between the bus station and your house and you see the lights on in the living room, tears gathering at the corner of your eyes at the thought of you finally getting to see your boyfriend. Your trembling hands look for the keys in your backpack and once you find them you unlock the front door. You quickly take off your shoes that were dirty from all the dirty water that was splashed on them and leave your backpack on the floor and hang your coat, making quick steps towards the living room where you assumed your boyfriend would be at. And you were right.
The first thing you see once you enter the room is your boyfriend laying on the couch with the remote in his hand, fast asleep, with your puppy (a 5 months old golden retriever that you initially didn’t want, but you could not say no to your boyfriend’s puppy eyes) laying on his chest, also fast asleep. You smile at the sight and the tears you were holding in up to that point break out and fall down your face. You could really use Yunho’s hugs right now, but you don’t want to disturb his sleep, even though he would be upset if he found out that you were needing him and didn’t wake him up, but that’s a problem for later.
You make your way towards the couch and take the nicely-folded blanket that was hanging from the couch’s headrest and you quietly unfold it while wiping away your tears and sniffling your nose. You were about to put the blanket over the two of them until the universe once again wasn’t on your side and your phone that was in your back pocket of your pants falls with a very loud thud, making the puppy wake up and start barking, jumping off of Yunho who was slowly waking up from his sleep startled, rubbing his eyes.
You were trying to make the puppy calm down, repeating multiple times “Milo please quiet. Calm down” in an attempt to not wake up your boyfriend, but once you see Yunho adjusting his eyes to the light, you sigh defeated and put the blanket aside and sit on the couch, quickly wiping your tears once again, before your boyfriend could see them.
The puppy was now on your lap, wagging his tail happily that you were finally home. With the corner of your eye you look at your boyfriend who is now standing up and stretching his limbs. He looks at your profile and then he frowns, now sitting on the ground in front of your legs so he could face you and see your face, cupping your cheek and dragging your face towards him so he could see you better, his thumb stopping some of the tears. Oh no.
“Hi baby. Slept well?” you ask him, in a pathetic attempt to play it off as cool. He quickly inspects your features and then checks over the rest of your body, noticing your dirty pants and trembling hands that were trying to hide in the puppy’s fur.
“Sweetheart what happened?” he asks while his thumb was rubbing slow circles on your cheek, his eyes worriedly and lovingly looking into yours. You try to look away and avoid his piercing gaze. “Tell me baby, let me help you, hmm?” he continues in a soft voice, desperately trying to meet your gaze. And that was the moment that everything you were holding back up to that point crumbled. His puppy eyes were too much for you and made it impossible for you to not break down.
You let out a pathetic sob before basically jumping on him, now the both of you are sitting on the ground. You wrap your arms around his neck and let out all your frustrations of the day, while his hands were quick to wrap around your waist, one of his hands going up and down your back trying to calm you down, repeatedly whispering into your ear “It’s okay baby, I’m here now. Let it all out. Nothing can hurt you now, I’m here.”. To be quite honest, his soothing words were only making you cry more.
After what seemed to be an eternity of crying in Yunho’s arms, with Milo sleeping on the couch next to your heads, you slowly pull away from his tight hug, looking at him. You could feel how red and puffy your eyes were and you could see his heart break the moment he saw you like this. You wiped away the residue of the tears with the back of your hand and let out an awkward laugh. “I’m sorry for jumping on you like that and dirtying your shirt. And I’m also sorry for waking you up, I really didn’t want to.” you say while pointing at the wet spot on his shirt where your tears were earlier landing on. Yunho just looks at you, with his messy brown hair slightly getting in his eyes and takes your hands into his.
“Never ever apologise for anything baby, please. It breaks my heart seeing you like this. Want to talk about what happened? Or would distracting you be more helpful? Did you eat? Are you hungry? Want me to run you a bath? God, I should’ve thought you’d be tired after a day of work, I’m sorry for not preparing anything…” he rambles while worriedly looking at you and you can’t help but let out a chuckle which stops Yunho from his train of thought. “...Was I rambling again?” he asks shily and you nod, making him smile. “Yeah, but it was cute.” you tell him and rest your head on his shoulder, letting out a sigh. “Can we cuddle?” you ask while your head was still on his shoulder.
Your boyfriend doesn’t reply, instead he stands up and lays on the couch, patting the empty spot that was next to him. His back rests on the huge pillows that are on the couch, and he opens his arms towards you. You smile at the sight and crawl into his arms, instantly wrapping your arms around his chest and as he wraps his arms around yours.
“Milo, come!” he says a bit louder and immediately after the puppy sleepily stands up and sits next to Yunho’s torso, resuming his sleep right after, at which you chuckle. Yunho looks at you and smiles fondly while you better rest your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat calming you down.
“Today sucked.” you state while looking in the void. He hums, encouraging you to continue whenever you are ready to while he is caressing your head, occasionally playing with your hair. “I was late for work, was scolded for it and had to stay overtime, I got splashed with dirty water by a car, the ride back home was horrible, the computer kept crashing at work and had to redo the project sheet I was working on.” you let everything out, recalling everything that happened, Yunho’s arms and his scent being the only things that were keeping you from crying again. You take a deep breath in and when you exhale it comes out shaky.
“And everything happened because you didn’t wish me to have a good day this morning.” you say in a playful tone, trying to change the atmosphere, hearing him let out a choked laugh, which makes you laugh in return.
“Shit, you’re right…” is all he can say after thinking about this morning, retracing his steps and realising that he did not, in fact, wish you a good day. “Baby I am so sorry, it completely went over my head, I was too tired and focused on preparing Milo for the walk. I am so so sorry.” he states while whispering the ‘w’ word so that Milo doesn’t get excited, which you find cute, but pointless, as the puppy’s ears raised and looked at the two of you, wagging his tail. Yunho sighs and you laugh.
At this point you were fondly looking into his eyes, feeling how all your troubles were melting away in his touch and words.
“You’re so cute. Thank you for listening to my dumb problems.” you say as you once again nuzzle your head into his chest and hug him tightly, inhaling his cologne that now smelled like home to you. He grabs your chin with his thumb and pointer finger and forces you to look at him.
“They are not dumb problems, they are just problems. And I’m so sorry you had a bad day baby. I hope I can make this weekend the best for you.” he finishes his sentence by pulling you into a slow, lingering kiss, making you knees melt and bringing butterflies in your stomach. “Want me to run you a bath?” he asks after pulling away and kissing the tip of your nose.
“I think someone else is waiting for something though.” you say while looking at Milo who was now on the floor playing with his leash. You hear Yunho chuckle and it makes your heart flutter. You watch him as he looks at Milo biting and tugging at the leash and you feel as if your heart is about to explode from the love you carry for this man.
“Then I will run you a bath and in the meantime I will go walk Milo?” he asks and the puppy barks and jumps in circles after hearing his favourite word. Yunho looks at you and with one of your hands you reach for his forehead and push away the hair that was covering his forehead, caressing his face. The love you have for this man…
You take a glance at the window and you notice that it is now snowing outside. Your smile grows.
“No way I’m missing a walk with you and Milo when outside is snowing so beautifully. Let me change.” you say and quickly leave his embrace, not giving him any time to protest. You run to your shared room and quickly take off the dirty, uncomfortable clothes and change into a pair of sweats and one of Yunho’s hoodies. When you go back downstairs you see Yunho on the ground trying to tie his shoes, however Milo was interrupting him and either biting his hands or shoelaces, which makes you giggle. Adopting this puppy was the best decision you two have ever made.
“Come Milo! Let dad get ready for the walk.” you say as you try to distract the puppy, pulling him into your arms and letting him bite your hand playfully, giving Yunho enough time to put on his boots. Ater that the two of you switched duties so that you could put on your boots as well. Your boyfriend put on Milo’s coat and then helped you with your own.
“You sure you don’t wanna sit this walk out?” your boyfriend asks you once more before unlocking the door, at which you nod with a wide smile on your face. “I need this walk as much as Milo does.” you state and Yunho laughs. He kisses your forehead and hands you over Milo’s leash so he can unlock the door easier. You get outside and wait for Yunho to lock the door, admiring the way huge snowflakes were falling from the sky. When you look down you see Milo trying to bite them.
You are surprised by Yunho’s arms resting on your shoulders and pulling you into a back hug and you let out a surprised squeak. He kisses your cheek and then pulls away, taking Milo’s leash from your hands and offers you his arm to hold on to it while you walk together through the snowy night. You gladly take it and so the walk begins.
The street was silent, besides the occasional cars that were passing by and your steps on the freshly laid snow. You quickly reach the park you usually walk Milo in and you take off his leash, leaving him to run around the park freely, the two of you sitting on a bench while still having the hyperactive puppy in sight. You rest your head on your boyfriend’s shoulder and let out a deep breath, fog escaping your lips. You rub your cold hands together while breathing on them, in an attempt to warm them up.
When your boyfriend sees you struggling he takes off his scarf and wraps it around your neck and you instantly nuzzle into the warm material, inhaling his scent. He then takes your hands into his big, weirdly warm ones to warm up yours. He brings your hands to his lips and he kisses your fingers before breathing warm air on to them, making you blush and being grateful that the scarf and the cold were covering most of your face.
After your hands were all warmed up he urged you to put them in your pockets to keep them warm, which you do. Yunho then cups your face and his now slightly colder hands were caressing your cheeks, while he was looking into your eyes lovingly.
To him you were the prettiest person to ever exist in that moment: your cheeks and your nose were pink from the cold, lips slightly chapped from the change in weather, while you were wearing his scarf that was slowly getting covered in snowflakes, your hair being adorned with snowflakes as well. He really felt that in that moment he was falling in love with you all over again.
“Now, don’t you dare catch a cold, yes? I want you to stay happy and healthy with me. I have plans for this weekend to help you destress, ok?” he softly says, saying the first question in a more warning tone. His words make you smile and you nod, shifting your head so that you could kiss his palm, leaning into his touch afterwards.
“You’re beautiful, Yuyu. Inside and out.” you say while admiring his features. His very red cheeks and pink chapped lips, with big snowflakes all over his dark brown hair, made him look like he had stars on his head. You take out one of your hands from your pocket to ruffle his hair, snow rapidly falling from his head which makes you smile. “I love you so much, Yuyu, thank you for sticking by my side for so long.” are the words you let out before he pulls you into a hug and you are quick to hug him back, squeezing him tightly, while your eyes are fixed on the puppy that was either biting the snowflakes that were falling on him or jumping into piles of snow.
“Don’t get sappy now. I love you too. So much. Thank you for letting me stick to your side. I am not going to leave your side ever, you are stuck with me.”
“Oh no, the horror!” you sarcastically say and you can hear him chuckle. God how you love that sound. “Should we head home? It seems that Milo is getting tired as well.” you say while pointing to the puppy that was now slowly coming towards the two of you, exhausted from all the running and jumping.
Yunho stands up and picks Milo up after he brushes off all the snow that gathered on his coat. Milo rests his tiny head on Yunho’s arm and soon after falls asleep. “I really hope he won’t wake up in the middle of the night this time to bark at nothing.” you state while walking next to Yunho, burying your face into the scarf, looking for warmth. “Mhm. We should be fine tonight, he seems to be very tired.” Yunho states as he looks at the puppy in his arms, who was faintly wagging his tail in his sleep. Adorable.
Once you reach your front door again, your boyfriend tells you to get the keys from his coat’s pocket, and once you are inside your house he takes off Milo’s coat, quickly cleans the puppy’s paws and places him on his bed, putting a blanket on top of him. Only after he’s done with Milo does Yunho take off his shoes and coat, looking at you and sighing, resting his head on the wall behind him.
“The walk on this weather was beautiful but fuck, we are never staying this long on a snowy bench again.” he says and you giggle. While he is still leaning on the wall, his hands reach for your shoulders and pull you into one of his warm, bear hugs, resting his chin on the top of your head, your ear directly pressed over his chest, hearing his heartbeat slowing down.
“Are you feeling any better sweetheart?” he asks while slightly rocking left and right with you in his arms. You nod. “Yes, and it’s all thanks to you.” you admit and you can feel him smile.
“I will go run you a bath and then will cook something, does that sound good?” he asks after he pulls away a bit. You smile and nod, your whole body being overwhelmed with love for him. “Alright then. You just rest until the bath is ready, yes? Maybe think of what you’d like to eat.” Yunho says as he starts walking towards the living room while holding your hand, making you sit on the couch.
Yunho leans in and kisses the top of your head multiple times and then cups your face, pulling you into one of his slow, loving kisses, that was worth more than any amount of words in this world, making your stomach do flips. After that he leaves to prepare your bath.
You sit more comfortably on the couch and throw the blanket over your body to warm yourself up while thinking about the walk the two of you were on. A very tired Milo jumps on the couch and sits next to you, planning to continue his nap next to you. You smile and slowly pet the puppy. You were against the idea of getting him, but when Yunho was holding Milo in his arms, his eyes pleading that you accept him, you gave in, and to this day you are not regretting it, as seeing Yunho smile brightly every day is worth anything. Your heart is once again overwhelmed with the love you feel for him.
“So? What do you feel like having?” you hear Yunho’s voice from the kitchen and smile. You are insanely in love with this man.

Kiss me, I need it.
A desperate (more noticeably) desperate college student Nai Saverem begging for a kiss
@yakulting ty for the amazing idea <33
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nai groaned against you, hands throughly covering your whole back and drawing you towards him. Not that it was needed, you were plenty willing, mind in a welcoming buzz of finally letting the fuck loose.
His lips found yours as the rare party you found yourselves at continued in the background, his hands moving up your sides and to your bare waist, the cold of his hands making you shiver.
Fuck, iron deficiency was crazy dude.
“Please, fuck..” he murmured against your neck, “Let me kiss you.”
You’d been sure to not get more than tipsy- you didn’t want to lose yourself tonight, and the idea of dealing with the aftermath already made you want to bash your head against 47 slabs of concrete. Nai had shared that sentiment with you, perhaps in hopes to remember you. Every curve of you, the map of your lips he’s wished to engrave in his mind, or the way your hands grip onto the front of his shirt in an attempt to anchor yourself.
Not that he could say much, hands holding onto you as if you were a lifeline. Nai Saverem wasn’t one to beg, not in the slightest.
“Yeah, of course..”
Ah, but he was for you. Any part of you, he was devoted to your entire being and was always nervous as hell to do anything. Alcohol assisted in ridding that worry, taking off the edge and ebbing off any ordinarily running thoughts. His mind remained focused on you, still running haywire, still fucking enamored at the sight of you.. just less at his expense. His body reacted plenty for him, hands instinctively reaching for you. Like now.
His hands bundled your shirt into clenched fists as he lost himself in you, tongue laving over yours as he released guttural groans, a slight whimper when you’d lean in more, moving your hand to tickle the nape of his neck and hold his undercut firmly. His piercing pressed against your bottom lip, cool and familiar yet never just a bit surprising, giving in to the temptation to take it into your mouth as you sucked diligently.
The whine he let out was the most beautiful thing you’ve ever heard.
When you’d wiggled to reposition yourself, his hands remained firm on your back. “Stay.” He ordered, although it held very little fire considering the warble in his voice and the partially dazed expression on his rosy lips and tinged cheeks.
“No, no don’t worry,” you reassure him, “I was just adjusting.”
He gazed upwards to you, looking through his eyelashes to admire you. So beautiful, so perfect, so..
And you were his.
“Good.” He pulls you to him once again, being far more intoxicated from yourself rather than any amount of alcohol.

Mistletoe
I'm tagging @avatarmerida because I know she'll love this one!
Happy holidays to all who celebrate! (All who don't, happy December!)
________________________________________________________________
"Amity! Amity! Amity!" Luz called out, excitedly and a little too loudly. She was eagerly pointing at the ceiling, where she'd just got done hanging up a tiny piece of mistletoe.
Gus, Vee and Willow were sitting at the kitchen table, trying to make gingerbread cookies. Vee was making sure they had actual supervision this time, that way they might actually cook up something good that wouldn't make Luz and Camila sick. However, once they heard their human friend yelling, all 3 of them stopped to look at what she was up to.
Amity walked towards her girlfriend, annoyed but happy.
"Again? You know, if you want to kiss me, you can just say it," she shook her head with a laugh.
"Aww, but that takes the fun out of it!" her human girlfriend pouted.
"What? Kissing me is only fun when it's under a plant? Is that what you're telling me?" Amity smirked.
"What?! No! I didn't say that! I just meant-"
"Come here," the witch roller her eyes before grabbing the human's face and pulling her into a loving kiss. Luz's hands went to Amity's waist, Amity's hands stayed on Luz's cheeks. Amity's leg went up like it always did.
As they kissed, the other 3 each had different reactions. Gus laughed, made a fake gagging noise and pretended to throw up on the cookies. Vee cooed and then grabbed the cookies before Gus could throw up on them. Willow pulled out her camera and took a picture of the lovebirds, deciding to include it on her holiday scrapbook.
When Amity and Luz finally stopped kissing, both of their faces were red.
"You guys just love PDA, don't you?" asked Gus.
"Is it really PDA when there's only 5 people here?" replied Luz, letting go off her girlfriend.
"Whatever, pass me the oven mits, I'm putting these in the oven before something else goes wrong," ordered Vee.
Gus passed her the oven mits and watched as she put the cookies in the oven.
Willow, on the other hand, went to the 2 girlfriends. Her curiosity was peaked.
"Hey, Luz, I need to ask; what's with the mistletoe?"
"Oh yeah! I didn't tell you guys about this, didn't I?"
Willow shook her head.
Camila had been kind enough to welcome Gus, Willow and Amity to stay at the Noceda house for this Human holiday called 'Christmas'. It looked really similar to the Demon holiday 'Krampus Night', but it also had some differences. Luz had been teaching them all about the stories and traditions over the past few days, but it looked like she never ran out of things to show them.
"When it's Christmas time, we sometimes hang mistletoe up on doorways or from the ceiling or we just hold it over our heads or wear it on our hair," Luz explained "the tradition dictates that if you and another person end up under the mistletoe, you have to kiss them. Primarily on the lips, but not necessarily."
"It's like a fun, little game that makes Christmas more romantic," added Amity. Luz had obviously explained this to her already.
"Interesting," commented Willow, scratching her chin as she came up with an idea.
Hunter and Willow had been dating for almost a month now, their relationship was still fresh. They had been getting more affectionate than before, with hugs that lasted longer and kisses on the cheek or forehead and holding hands. But they hadn't kissed on the lips yet. Willow understood that Hunter was waiting for the right moment and she knew better than to rush him.
But she could maybe nudge him in the right direction by creating the right moment... right?
She went down to the basement, where her boyfriend was working on something on the sewing machine. He was wearing his glasses and he had his tongue out in concentration.
"Hi, Hunter."
"Oh, hey, Captain," he greeted without looking up.
"Whatcha working on?" she sat down in front of him, crossing her legs and tapping her knees like she did sometimes.
"Luz said a crucial part of Christmas is silly, matching outfits," he explained "primarily personalized sweaters, so I'm making a sweater for each one of us so we can take a picture on Christmas day. Look, I'm already done with Camila's!"
He proudly held up a large, red sweater with a million different patches and embroidery on it. Amongst them, there was a Dominican Republic flag, a yellow planet with many rings and a patch that read 'BEST MOM'.
Hunter was smiling so bright, it was contagious. He was so cute.
“Oh, Hunter, that’s so sweet! I’m sure she’s gonna love it!”
The Grimwalker blushed happily as he went back to his work. Willow always made sure to compliment him at every chance she got because his reaction was always worth it.
“Caaaaan I see mine?” she asked playfully.
“Ah, ah, ah!” he wagged his finger, as if he was reprimanding her  “you know how I feel about spoilers! you have to wait until Christmas like everyone else.”
She laughed. “Fine.”
She watched him work a little more before deciding to act on her plan. The plant witch drew a circle in the air with her finger, making a long chain of mistletoe appear in front of them, hanging from the ceiling. Hunter noticed it and looked up. He saw his girlfriend smiling at him, expectantly, sitting under the mistletoe with a blush on her cheeks. He raised an eyebrow at her, confused. But, then, his knowledgeable brain provided him with a possible answer and he frowned.
“Um, Captain, are you okay? is something wrong?”
“I’m fine, everything’s great, actually,” she smiled, still hopeful.
“Are you sure? you know you can tell me anything, right?”
“Yeah, I know. I promise, everything is awesome.”
“Are you mad about the sweater? you just have to wait a few days, it won’t be long,” he tried to reassure her.
“It’s fine, Hunter, really,” she laughed “I can be patient.”
“Then why-?” he was about to ask but then he got interrupted.
“Hey, guys! the cookies are finished! come upstairs!” Gus called out from the kitchen.
The couple looked at each other for a second before they both got up from their seats to go.
“We can talk later,” she said, simply. As if that explained everything.
Then, she kissed him on the cheek. If she wasn’t gonna get a mistletoe kiss on the lips, she was at least getting a tiny peck. Hunter was now completely bewildered, and his face was red again. But yeah, they could talk about whatever was bothering her later, there didn’t seem to be an urgency. He took off his glasses and they both went upstairs with everyone else.
This kept going for a few more days. Everytime Hunter and Willow were alone in a room together, Willow would magically create a mistletoe on the ceiling over their heads and stare at him. It was weird, to say the least. Hunter knew that Willow always made plants appear when she was having really strong emotions, like how her hair had filled with flowers when he first asked her out. He also knew that mistletoe was a poisonous plant, its consumption fatal for both witches and humans. So, he thought, the logical conclusion was that Willow was upset about something but, whenever he asked, she always said she was fine. He was simply at a loss for what to do.
Finally, he decided to go to Luz for advice. Luz was in her bedroom with Amity, sitting on the lower bunk bed, watching something she’d referred to as a ‘Christmas Rom-Com’ while her witch girlfriend braided her hair.
“Hi, guys, I need help with something.”
“Yeah, okay. What’s up, bro?” Luz paused the movie to let him talk.
“I think Willow is angry with me,” he confessed, obviously upset.
“What did you do?” Amity asked, more focused on her love’s hair than on her friend’s problem.
“Amity! don’t be rude!” Luz went back to her honorary brother  “what makes you think she’s angry with you? I thought you guys were fine.”
“I thought so, too, but now, everytime we’re alone together, she makes mistletoe appear,” he said this like it was an obvious tragedy.
“So?” Luz shrugged.
“So? SO?! Luz, mistletoe is a poisonous plant! it’s toxic! Willow makes plants appear when she’s having really strong emotions and the plants always relate to her feelings,” he started walking in circles  “soooo... if she’s making mistletoe appear when she’s with me and mistletoe is a toxic plant, she must be mad about something. Oh Titan, what if she breaks up with me? what am I supposed to do with her Christmas gift if she breaks up with me before Christmas?”
“Hunter, even if she was mad, she’s not gonna dump you during the holidays,” Amity tried to be logical  “that’s like the worst possible time to break up with someone.”
Luz laughed and started singing. “Last Christmas I gave you my heart but, the very next day, you gave it away.”
Amity stopped braiding her hair and Hunter stopped pacing, they both looked at her confused.
“It’s a human song,” she said, easily, before going back to the matter at hand  “Hunter, I don’t think Willow is mad at you. But, if you don’t believe me, ask her!”
“I already asked her, she keeps saying everything is fine but I can tell she’s not being completely honest.”
“Did you actually ask her about the mistletoe?” Amity said, hands on her Batata’s hair once more.
“I... no.”
“Then ask her about the stupid plant. Don’t make a big deal out of it, just talk to your girlfriend, be direct with her,” the purple witch said  “if I learned anything with Luz, is that communication and honesty is important in relationships.”
“Awww,” Luz swooned. Her awesome girlfriend was so mature.
“Okay, I’ll talk to her,” Hunter resigned  “thanks for the advice, girls.”
“Good luck!” Luz told Hunter as he left. Then, she said to Amity:  “10 Snails says they end up making out.”
“I think I know better than to bet against you now,” Amity said, remembering all the money she’d lost when Willow said yes to going out with Hunter.
“Yeah, okay.”
The Grimwalker found his partner in the living room, working on her holiday scrapbook. She was trying to make the perfect paper snowflake to stick between a picture of Gus catching snow with his tongue and another picture of Vee making a snow Basilisk. When Willow saw him, she left her project to go hug him. He hugged her back, always happy to do so.
“Hunter! hi!”
“Hey, Willow? can we talk?”
“Yeah, okay,” she sat back down on the couch and patted the space next to her. He sat.
“Every time we’re alone, I’ve noticed you keep making mistletoe appear,” he started.
“You noticed?”
“Yeah, and I don’t really understand what it means... I know mistletoe is a poisonous plant, so I thought that maybe you were angry with me about something? but every time I asked, you always said you were fine, so I just got more confused...”
“Oh, Hunter,” Willow laughed.
“I know I’m not very good at this relationship thing but I don’t like that you’re giving me mixed signals and I understand if you want to break up with me but-”
“Hunter, that’s not what the mistletoe means.”
“Then, what does it mean?”
“I mean, you’re right, mistletoe is poisonous. You definitely should not eat it,” she clarified  “but Luz told me that humans like to use it as Christmas decoration. They hang it up on doorways and stuff and it’s supposed to be like a game. The rules are, if you and another person are under the mistletoe together, you have to kiss... like, on the lips.”
“Oh,” Hunter said, then he took a moment to think about what that meant and finally understood  “ooooooooh, you were... ooooooooh...”
His face was now bright red at the thought. He was somehow relieved and embarrassed at the same time. What a strange combination of emotions.
“Yeah, oh.”
“Why didn’t you just ask me?”
“I didn’t want to pressure you if you weren’t ready. I didn’t want to rush you. But I thought... if I dropped some hints that I wanted you to kiss me, you would feel more comfortable doing it when you were ready.”
“Aww, that’s sweet, Willow,” Hunter smiled  “but I think you need to stop dropping hints, I’m never good at picking them up.”
They both laughed, it was true. Then, he realized.... if she wanted him to kiss her... then...
He slowly moved both hands to her face and held her softly. Willow looked at him, blushing and hopeful. They both looked at each other for a second, quietly asking for permission before Hunter finally went and did it.
It wasn’t a very long kiss but it felt right. His hands remained on her face while hers went to his hair. They could feel each other smiling. Willow felt him sigh in content as he relaxed and that sigh made her shiver a little. They pulled each other closer. The kiss would’ve gone longer if they didn’t suddenly forget how to breathe.
When they stopped, Hunter saw his girlfriend’s hair was full of beautiful, colorful plants. Mainly holly, Christmas roses and, of course, mistletoe. He took a moment to admire her before laughing again.
“Next time you want to kiss me, just tell me.”
“Oh, but that takes the fun out of it!”

Right By Your Side (Joseph x Reader)
Tumblr media
Rating: 18+ just because it contains adult content concerning health issues.
Warnings: Pain, putting off treatment, vomiting, sickness, surgery? Otherwise, cute Joe fluff.
Once you all got home from the German Comic Con, life hit you all in the face. You convinced Joseph to go to the eye doctor since he had been complaining about his vision. Joe was not exactly thrilled when he came home and told you he had to wear glasses. They had ordered his glasses and told him they should be in within the next week. After that, he could get contacts. But there would be some more waiting.
“Can you believe it? Twenty-nine years and I just now need glasses?”, Joe grumbled as he got a drink from the fridge.
Arthur was awake, lying on his back and kicking his legs on his play mat. You sat on the floor with him. “Tell daddy, it’s okay.”, you said in a soft voice.
Joseph sighed, sitting down beside you on the floor. He took a sip of his drink, admiring his baby boy.
“What if Arthur cries when he sees me?”
You rolled your eyes, your baby beginning to smile. “He isn’t going to cry when he sees you with glasses. He’ll still know you’re his daddy.”
Joseph was being really hard on himself. In reality, you knew there was no reason for him to behave this way. He would look great in whatever he wore. He picked Arthur up, and Arthur was able to hold his head up. He smiled at the sight of his daddy.
“Do you think daddy will look weird?”, he baby-talked his son, making a face.
Arthur smiled.
You sighed, rolling your eyes again playfully. Amelia came bouncing down the stairs once she heard her daddy’s voice, realizing he was home.
“Daddy, you’re home?!”, she squealed, running over to him.
“Easy, love, I’ve got the baby.”, he chuckled softly as she slowed down before she wrapped her arms around him tightly.
He kissed her head softly before she turned her attention to Arthur, making him smile. It was nice to see both of your kids getting along, and interacting with each other. You knew it could only get cuter as Arthur became able to do more things like laugh and hold his entire body up. Amelia was dying to help feed him and you and Joe had decided to let her in just a couple of weeks. It was almost Christmas break from preschool. Amelia’s Christmas party was next Friday.
Your plan was to make cookies for her class. Amelia was excited, even asking you to help pick out an outfit for her. You all settled on a Christmas dress with white tights and black flats, and of course, her green bow. The rest of the evening was spent at home, Joseph still fretting over his glasses. Even as you fed Arthur before bed. This was new to him, you understood his hesitation. But you just knew he’d look so handsome and sexy in anything.
It was Tuesday of the next week, Joseph had just home from getting to pick up his glasses. He came through the door, seeing if you would notice.
“Hey love.”, he whispered.
You looked up at him, doing a double take since you noticed his glasses. “Hey, babe. They look good on you.”
“Aw, come on.”, he groaned, taking you in his arms before kissing your head.
Occasionally, Joseph had a hard time accepting compliments even from you. He was very humble and you thought it was one of the cutest things about Joe. He held you in his arms for a minute, noticing you were making lunch. Amelia wanted grilled cheese and tomato soup, he assured you that sounded great to him. He sat down at the table, reading on his phone for a few minutes while you finished up lunch, and set the table.
“Amelia, lunch is ready!”
“Coming, mommy!”, she yelled back.
Joseph put his phone down, kissing your cheek as you sat his plate and bowl down. “Thanks for making lunch, love.”
“You’re most welcome, babe.”
Amelia ran into the kitchen, you helping her scoot her chair out, and situate herself in it.
“Daddy, did you get glasses?”, she asked, slightly confused at seeing her dad in front of her.
He eyed you before answering her. “Yes, princess. Daddy needed glasses.”
You sat down with them, listening to their daddy-daughter banter, causing you to smirk. It was quite cute. You ate a small amount of soup and only half a grilled cheese. Your stomach was hurting slightly, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was right near your belly button, the cramping, aching feeling. You chalked it up to starting your period soon, a good sign right now with two kids. Joe noticed you weren’t eating like you usually did.
“Feeling okay, love?”
“Fine, just my stomach’s hurting a little. I think it’s about time for my monthly.”, you eyed him.
“Mommy, what’s a monthly?”
Joe almost spat his soup out, quickly grabbing a napkin and clearing his throat. Amelia had become increasingly curious lately, questioning almost everything. Joseph definitely did not want to think about his baby girl reaching that phase of puberty. He couldn’t even handle the fact she was in preschool. He dreaded the day she got a crush on a boy, his heart couldn’t take it.
“Um, just where mommy’s stomach hurts.”, you deflected quickly.
“Sounds bad.”, Amelia scrunched her face up, going back to her soup.
Joe coughed again, taking a sip of water and trying to recover from his daughter’s curious question. You eyed him easily, holding back a laugh. After finishing lunch, Joe helped you clean up the kitchen. Amelia was in the living room, watching Arthur sleep. You had Bluey on to entertain her.
“The real test is when I pick up Arthur.”, Joe sighed, looking at you and referring to his glasses.
“Amelia didn’t think anything different.”, you smirked up at him.
“Mommy, Arthur’s awake!”, Amelia yelled from the living room.
“Okay, mommy will feed him in a few minutes, dear.”
Joe sighed, closing the cabinets. “Wesley is wanting to get together tomorrow, is it okay if I go out with him?”
You eyed Joe, putting your hands on your hips. He was always such a gentleman and asked permission to leave the house when it wasn’t business related. Joe was always conscious of you being home alone with the kids. But you knew he needed time to himself and to catch up with his friends. He offered to do the same thing for you, even offering for you to get your nails and toes done and have a massage at the salon. You were hesitant about his offer at first, especially leaving him alone with Amelia and Arthur for several hours.
It wasn’t that you thought he wasn’t capable, he most definitely was. You just felt guilty going out, you felt like your sole purpose in life was to be a mommy now. He gently encouraged you to go, stating that you deserved this and it was the least he could do for you. After his small persuasion, you hesitantly agreed. But you were very glad you went, feeling so good and relaxed once you got back home. Practically feeling like a new woman.
“You know you don’t have to ask.”, you looked up at him.
“It’s a respect thing, love. I just want to make sure you’re okay with it.”
“I’m perfectly fine with it, me and the kids will be fine. Tell him we said hi.”, you smirked before Joe took you in his arms, placing his hands on your waist and you all shared a small kiss.
You both went into the living room, once Arthur was trying to become fussier.
“Moment of truth.”, Joe smirked at you.
All you could do was playfully roll your eyes again. Joseph picked him up out of his pack n play and you could tell he was holding his breath. Arthur’s fussing ceased, with him eyeing his daddy with his brown eyes. He finally smiled just for a second and you could tell Joseph breathed a sigh of relief.
“You don’t think daddy looks weird, do you buddy?”, he spoke softly before kissing Arthur’s head.
Arthur smiled softly.
“See? He knows you’re still daddy, now let me feed him before he starts crying.”, you laughed.
Joe handed him to you easily, smirking as you both sat down on the couch, Amelia climbing up on the couch with you all. She cuddled Joe while you all watched Bluey. As the evening progressed, your abdominal discomfort became worse, becoming full-on abdominal pain. Especially in your right lower abdomen. Joseph noticed your face was scrunched up, your hand on your stomach.
Arthur was asleep in your arms. Amelia was in her pajamas, asleep in her daddy’s arms. He was gonna carry her upstairs and put her in bed.
“Love, are you sure you’re okay?”
You sighed, discomfort evident on your face. “I just am having really bad abdominal pain. Maybe where my periods are just starting to get regular again?”, you suggested. “I’m gonna take some Tylenol.”
He nodded. “Alright love, I’m gonna take Amelia to bed.
You gave her a kiss before going to the kitchen, Arthur in your arms, managing to open the pill bottle, popping two in your mouth before grabbing a cup, getting some water out of the fridge, and chasing them down quickly. You secretly hoped this would help. You turned off the lamps downstairs, beginning your trek up the stairs, feeling the pain in your abdomen worsen with these increased movements. You closed your eyes, breathing through the pain. This felt as bad if not worse than labor pains.
You got upstairs, and Amelia’s door was cracked, signaling Joe had already successfully put her to bed. You went into the bedroom, putting Arthur in his bassinet, holding your side. Joe was in the bathroom, the door opening. You quickly removed your hand, wincing as you sat down in bed.
“Did you take some medicine, baby?”, he asked, dressed in his pajama pants.
You nodded. “Two Tylenol.”
“If you feel any worse, wake me up, okay?”, he asked, looking into your eyes, seriousness on his face. He pulled you close to him, stretching your abdomen and causing you to wince in pain, biting back and squealing out in pain.
He felt you tense up in his arms. “Baby, am I hurting you?”
“No—it just is very sensitive. This is the worst period cramps I’ve ever had.”, you breathed, finally catching your breath.
He looked at you cautiously. “Seriously wake me up if things get worse, okay baby?”
You nodded easily, sharing a goodnight kiss with him, cuddling up to him best you could without hurting yourself further. Your side was killing you, the pain making you nauseated. Your eyes shot open, looking at the clock. It was two thirty. Joe was snoring beside you, his arms lazily wrapped around you. You broke out in a cold sweat, feeling extremely nauseated.
You easily moved his arm, realizing you had to get to the bathroom and fast. Arthur was still fast asleep and you prayed he’d stay asleep until after you finished throwing up. Your legs were weak, and you trying not to stumble your way through the bedroom. You didn’t want to knock anything over to wake Joe up. You carefully found the doorknob, opened the bathroom door, and closed it gently behind you. You eased yourself down to your knees, the cool tile hitting your legs.
It reminded you of when you had severe morning sickness with Amelia. You grabbed your own hair, held it back, and threw up. You closed your eyes, feeling tears slide down your cheeks. You just wanted this to be over. Once you had emptied your stomach contents, you slumped down on the tile floor, just laying there, feeling relieved at how cold the floor was-especially against your face. You didn’t realize you had drifted off to sleep for a bit.
Not until you heard the sound of Arthur crying, bringing you out of your slumber. What little bit you had managed to get while laying on your bathroom floor. When you lifted your head up, the room felt like it was spinning. If you managed to get up right now, it would take everything you had in you. Raising up from the floor, you felt the sharp, stabbing pain causing you to wince and hiss in pain. Just as you were about to try and hold on to the toilet to get up, the door opened.
“Oh my God.”, you heard your husband, shock evident in his voice. “Baby, what’s wrong? How long have you been in here? Are you sick?”
You closed your eyes, trying to get your thoughts together. “Just a really—really bad stomach ache or period cramps—so bad it’s making me nauseated. But I promise I’m fine.”
He scoffed easily. “You are so not fine. We need to go on to the emergency room. You’ve never ever had period craps nor a virus bad enough that you vomited and fell asleep on the bathroom floor.”
You sighed. You knew in the back of your mind you were fighting a losing battle. Eventually, Joseph would win. This was the worst pain you had ever felt in your entire life minus labor pains. At least with labor pains, they eventually went away. The Tylenol you had taken had barely taken the edge off. You were miserable if you were being honest.
“No, please no emergency room. They’ll just give me a bunch of fluids and IV nausea medicine and send me home.”, you pleaded with him.
He sighed, rubbing his eyes. “Love, I’m worried about you. It could be something more—like maybe an ectopic pregnancy or something serious.”
You sighed at his suggestion. “I don’t think so. Can you please feed Arthur and just let me lay here?”
He was taken aback at this. This was unlike you. He didn’t mind feeding Arthur for you. Joseph was willing to do anything and everything he could to help you.
He sighed, accepting your answer for now. “Fine, but at least let me get you a pillow and blanket. And I’m coming in here when I’m done feeding the baby. This conversation is not over.”
You smiled softly at how firm he was trying to be with you before the pain took back over, causing you to frown and grimace. You could hear Joe picking Arthur up from his bassinet, beginning to baby-talk to him. Arthur’s crying was becoming softer. Joe went downstairs and grabbed him a bottle before coming back upstairs and into the bedroom. He was becoming a pro just like you, being able to hold the baby and grab other things. He came into the bedroom, bottle propped against his chest, feeding Arthur as he handed you a pillow and blanket.
“Thank you, babe.”
He eyed you easily. “You’re welcome, babe, but we are still gonna talk about this.”, he said in a sing-song voice.
You sighed easily as he went back into the bedroom, hearing the bed sink with his weight as he sat down to feed Arthur. You easily fixed the pillow, laying down on the tile once more. Something was wrong with you, but you weren’t exactly sure what. Joe could be right—something could be seriously wrong with you. If you were being honest, you had never felt pain like this. It was new, uncharted territory. You could feel your eyes threatening to close, becoming exhausted. You wanted to give in to your exhaustion so badly, almost drifting off as Joe entered the bathroom.
“Now, the baby’s asleep. We have to talk.”
You groaned softly, voice laced with drowsiness. “What about, babe?”
“About the fact, something is wrong with you. This behavior is so unlike you. I am seriously worried about you. I can put off going out with Wesley. He’d understand.”, Joe sighed, his brown eyes looking at you, full of concern.
You were still very lethargic. “No, I’ll be okay. I promise. Go ahead and go out with Wesley.”
Joe ran his hand through your hair, admiring you. You were pale, cold and clammy. He knew something was wrong.
“Can mom at least come over and be with you and the kids?”, he asked softly.
You nodded, groggily. “Yeah.”
That made some relief wash over him. He knew if you got worse, his mom would at least call him and take you to the emergency room. He’d call her first thing in the morning before he left. He stroked your hair as you fought to drift off to sleep. He softly touched your face, admiring you. Your cheeks were flushed and warm, causing him concern. He wished whatever was wrong with you, he could take it away. He hated to see you in pain. Even when you were having Amelia and Arthur.
Joe sat on the floor beside you, making sure you were okay. You were finally managing to sleep a little bit. The only time he left you was to go check on Arthur and feed him or change him. You were up and down a few times over the next several hours. Joe went and got some Pepto Bismol for you to drink. You had a couple more episodes of nausea and vomiting, Joe holding your hair back and rubbing your back.
“You don’t think you could be pregnant, do you?”, he asked as he kissed your head.
You were just getting over your nausea and vomiting spell.
You shook your head. “I really don’t think so. Considering we’re using condoms.”, you choked out, voice hoarse.
He sighed. “Still a small chance.”
You shook your head, dismissing this idea completely. Once morning came, Joe tried to convince you to at least get in bed or lay on the couch. You suffered through the pain, pretending as if you weren’t in immense pain. Joe helped you down to the couch, bringing you the baby as you requested to breastfeed him. You were trying to doze off, even just feeding the baby.
“I can still cancel with Wesley if you need to go to the doctor.”, he kissed your head, feeling if you had a temperature.
“No, I’ll be okay.”, you mumbled, Arthur on your right breast.
Your cheeks were still flushed, the rest of your face pale otherwise.
Joe wasn’t exactly convinced. He called his mom, explaining everything. He explained the fact that you wouldn’t let him take you to the doctor and dismissed this as period cramps or a bad stomach bug. He also explained you insisted that he didn’t cancel his plans with Wesley. She agreed to come help you with the kids, giving him some peace of mind. Joe got ready and put his glasses on, helping Amelia get dressed into play clothes. Once he noticed Arthur was done feeding, he scooped him up in his arms, taking him with him around the house.
You managed to take a short nap. Once Joe got dressed, the doorbell rang. Carrying Arthur, he answered the door to see his mom.
“Hello dear. Is Y/N okay?”, his mom asked.
She took her son into her arms, giving him a hug.
He sighed. “For now. She’s taking a nap. Amelia is playing in the living room.”
She nodded, instantly beginning to make over Arthur since he was the first grandchild she laid eyes on.
“And there’s nan’s baby boy. Yes, he is.”, she kissed his head, causing him to squirm as Joe let her take him into her arms.
Arthur settled back down, snuggling into her arms. His mom took her shoes off, coming further into the house. Coming into the living room, she noticed you were asleep on the couch. Joseph smiled softly.
“Here, baby put your legs up on the couch. Get comfortable. Mom’s here, okay?”, he said softly, kissing your head before brushing a hand through your hair.
“Okay.”, you said softly, wincing at him moving you.
“And call me if you need me, please. Or get mom to.”
“Okay.”
Amelia immediately ran over to hug her nan. “Nan!”
“Hello sweetheart.”, she leaned down to kiss Amelia, careful with Arthur.
Joseph smiled, admiring the beautiful family he had. However, there was still worry seeded deep inside of him. He felt uneasy leaving you, but he didn’t want to argue with you. He felt better that his mom was there in case you needed someone. Amelia’s curls were getting longer, but they were so adorable. It was just one of the things she took after him, causing a smile to appear on her lips. Amelia smiled, going back to play with her toys.
“Call me if she gets worse.”, Joe sighed to his mom, eyeing you on the couch.
“I will, dear. Don’t worry so much. I’ll keep an eye on her.”
He nodded, giving his mom a final hug before she kissed him on the head. He grabbed his keys, taking another look at you before his mom went to sit on the loveseat, holding Arthur in her arms and beginning to ask Amelia about school and her trip to Germany. All the exciting things. He smiled softly, but he was going to worry about you the entire time he was gone. You and the kids were his everything and he wanted to do everything in his power to keep you all healthy and safe.
He met Wesley for lunch at a local pub, a familiar hangout for the both of them. Wesley could instantly read Joseph, sensing something was wrong.
“What’s wrong?”, he asked immediately.
“Y/N’s not feeling well. She was up all night last night throwing up and even slept in our bathroom floor.”, Joe sighed, rubbing his face.
Wesley’s expression was even full of concern. “Why are you here?”
“She refuses to go to the doctor. She said it’s a bad stomach bug or bad period cramps. Mom’s with her and the kids. I told her you’d understand if I needed to cancel my plans.”
Wesley nodded. “Of course. Your family comes first. What do you think is wrong with her?”
Joe shrugged. “I don’t know but I’m worried it’s something serious.”
Wesley nodded as they waited on their food. He noticed that Joe kept checking his phone for any text or call from you or his mom. He tapped the table nervously, seeming distracted. Their food arrived but Joe barely picked at his. Wesley could tell he was more worried than he was really letting on.
Back at home, you were in and out of sleep. You were holding your side, listening to Amelia and Joseph’s mom talk and interact. You held back your groans. You were in absolute misery. Part of you wished you had let Joe take you to the doctor or the hospital. You were feeling nauseated again, the pain increasingly becoming worse. His mom noticed, telling Amelia she’d be right back. Arthur was asleep in her arms, snoring.
“Are you feeling sick, sweetie?”, she asked.
You closed your eyes, nodding. “Yeah.”
“Do you need the bin?”
You knew what she was referring to—the trash can. You nodded weakly. The nausea was increasing and easing up towards your throat. She took off to the kitchen quickly before returning with the trash can, sitting it near your head. Without warning, you began throwing up. You didn’t have much to give considering you hadn’t eaten since dinner last night. His mom set on the arm of the couch, grabbing your hair and pulling it back while holding Arthur in the other arm.
This caught Amelia’s attention. “Nan, is mommy sick?”
“Yes, love. She’s not feeling well.”, you heard her voice beside you.
Once it was over, you kept your eyes closed, feeling the tears continue to slide down your cheeks from your eyes watering.
“Lay back, sweetie. I’ll go get a washcloth.”
“You don’t have to do that.”, you coughed.
His mom clicked her tongue. “No, I insist. Just lay back and close your eyes. Relax.”
She came back from the bathroom, still holding Arthur, and got you a damp, cool washcloth and laid it on your forehead. She was a pro at multitasking. Arthur began to wake up, fussing and crying.
“Here, let me feed him.”, you said softly, voice small and weak.
“No dear, it’s okay. You just close your eyes. Do you have milk in the fridge?”
You nodded weakly. “Yeah, and there’s some in the freezer. Joe likes to keep it stocked.”
You could hear the smile in her voice. “He’s a proud father, that’s for sure. I’ll take care of it.”
You could hear her rummaging in the kitchen, getting his bottle ready, and feeding him. You continued to writhe, tossing and turning on the couch. You wished something—anything would end your misery. Amelia kept cautious eyes on you, worried about her mommy. You had no energy. You wanted to take care of your kids, but you couldn’t muster up the energy to do so. You suffered for a few more hours, day slipping into night. His mom kept a check on you, dabbing your head every now and then with a washcloth before leaving it on your forehead permanently.
Your phone dinged and you knew it was Joseph, but you couldn’t muster the energy to even look at it. You finally reached the end of your rope.
“Call Joe, please call him. I need him. I need him so bad.”, you began to sob into the couch cushion.
She eyed you sympathetically before sitting down. “You want me to call him, sweetheart? Do you want me to go ahead and take you to the emergency room and have him meet us there?”
You nodded, holding your side. “Can Joe take me, please? I don’t want the kids to be alarmed. I need him.”, you began to cry.
“Of course, dear. I’ll call him now.”
She pulled out her cell phone and dialed his number. You could only hear her side of the conversation.
“Hey dear, it’s mum. Y/N wants you, honey. She’s begging for you. Yes, come and take her to the emergency room. Yes, she’s gotten slightly worse. Yes. Okay, dear. Be careful driving, I love you.”
She came over and felt your head again. She was being motherly towards you, obviously and clearly concerned about you. Amelia was worried, coming over to talk to you.
“Mommy, are you okay?”, her voice broke.
You nodded. “Mommy will be okay.”
His mom sat beside you, watching you. She could visibly see you were uncomfortable and miserable. You were quietly beginning to sob into the pillow again. She put her hand on your shoulder. It was just a matter of fifteen or twenty minutes before the door came open, Joe rushed in the door. He was visibly shaken, feeling a little on edge. You heard him come over to you.
“Baby.”, he said softly, partially filled with relief and the other with sympathy for the pain you felt.
Joe ran his hand through your hair, feeling how clammy you were. He looked back at his mom before speaking again. “Love, we need to go to the hospital. Are you ready?”
You nodded, beginning to cry. “Please Joe. Please.”
Joe looked at you with sympathetic eyes, he hated to see you cry.
He kissed your head. “Okay, baby. Okay.”, he breathed, kissing your forehead again.
He made a few more last-minute arrangements, asking his mom if she would keep the kids while you all were gone. She agreed and stated she would call his dad to come over too. Amelia was worried, Joe could see it all over her face. She was on the verge of shedding tears, carefully wiping her eyes and sniffling. Joe’s heart immediately sank noticing his baby girl so upset.
Joe went over to Amelia, kneeling down on her level. “It’s going to be okay, baby girl. Okay?”
She nodded carefully, rubbing her eyes again. “Promise daddy?”
“Daddy promises. Daddy’s gonna take mommy to the doctor to help her feel better, okay? Daddy and mommy love you so much.”, he breathed, his voice wavering as he leaned her over to kiss her head.
“Love you, daddy. Love you mommy.”, she said softly.
Joseph’s mom was still holding Arthur, Joe taking his time to kiss his baby boy goodbye for the time being. After that, Joe quickly turned his attention back to you. You were crying, trying to keep it quiet. It was hard to focus on anything. Other than the immense pain you felt. You could hardly even focus on Joe’s voice or Amelia’s voice. You had never experienced anything like this in your life and you never hoped to again.
“Come on baby, let’s go.”, he said softly, kissing your head.
He tried to help you sit up, however, when he did, you felt like you were being stabbed, yelling out. “Babe—please stop—it hurts so bad!”
The end of your sentence was frail and weak as you broke into a sob. Joseph’s face crinkled in worry, immediately began to apologize profusely. “I’m so so sorry, baby. I am so sorry.”
Through the stream of your tears, you saw Amelia gasp and cling to Joseph’s mom.
Joe ran his hand through your hair softly, touching your cheek. You sobbed into your hands, feeling like you were dying. That’s what you would compare this to.
“Let me carry you, baby. Please.”, he thumbed over your cheek.
You nodded, tears still sliding down your cheeks. Joe scooped you in his arms, reminiscent of your wedding day when he carried you bridal style. You clung to him with everything in you. He was always your safety blanket and today was no exception. Especially feeling like this. He held on to you as his mom went to open the doors to go outside and to the car, telling Amelia she’d be right back. Joe kissed your head as you tried to stop crying. You could only imagine the conversation you were going to be having with him once you all got into the car.
He would probably tell you that you should have let him take you to the doctor this morning or even last night. You deserved to hear those words, you admitted it. He easily put you in the car, dreading the movement. It hurt so bad. Joe apologized the entire time he helped you into the vehicle, kissing your head. He finally got you situated, laying the seat down, and making you a little more comfortable. His mom hugged him, assuring him she would keep the kids and they would be fine.
He came around, getting in the driver’s side. Starting the vehicle, his brown eyes panned over at you. He looked at you, trying to read you.
“Go ahead and say it.”, you said softly, gripping your side.
“Say what, love?”, he asked softly in return.
“That I was stupid and should have let you take me to the hospital this morning or yesterday evening. Because I’ll admit it, I should have—I wished I would have.”
He dismissed you quickly. “I wasn’t going to say that, baby. I wish you would have let me take you but I’m just glad you are now before things get worse.”, he rubbed your thigh.
You nodded softly, leaning your head against the door of the car. The hospital wasn’t very far away. You both were well aware of that, especially after having two children. What few minutes it took to arrive at the emergency room, felt like hours to you. It was the pain. Once arriving at the hospital, Joe scooped you up and out of the vehicle, carefully putting you in a wheelchair. You cried softly and he apologized again, rubbing your shoulders. Even through the terrible pain, Joe could do his best to make you feel better.
Once you got inside, you registered at the registration desk. You explained what horrible abdominal pain you were having and how fast the onset of pain was. She asked you a million questions about insurance, your address, and how much of the previous information they had on file for you that was correct. After finishing that painstaking process, you all sat in the waiting room, Joe rubbing your arm. It caused you both to look up when the nurse called your name, an all too familiar feeling.
Joe pushed you through the door that led from the waiting room to the emergency room. The nurse asked if you could weigh, but you explained you were in too much pain. She took you on back to room three. She asked you several questions—very similar to the ones the registrar asked you. Her eyes widened as she noticed your blood pressure was elevated, however, she attributed the high numbers as a result of your pain.
“Any chance you could be pregnant? When was your last period?”, she asked.
“Um, probably not—we use condoms. And my last period was the fifteenth of last month.”, you said tensely.
She nodded. “We’ll go ahead and run a pregnancy test when the lab draws some blood, okay? We’re gonna go ahead and get you an IV started in just a few minutes.”
You nodded. She disappeared, telling you both the doctor would be back soon. Joe kissed your head, brushing through your hair again. You lay down, holding your side. You just wanted relief from this pain. It was ten minutes before the doctor came in. Part of you was relieved, the other worried as to what she would find out was wrong with you.
“Hello, Mrs. Quinn. I’m Dr. Anderson. The nurse told me you started experiencing your pain last night.”
You nodded.
“And you’ve been experiencing some nausea and vomiting?”
You nodded.
She asked you the same round of questions—if there was a chance of pregnancy, when your last period was, etc. The nurse came back in why she was asking you these questions to start your IV. The doctor asked you to lean back and she warned you that what she was about to do would hurt. She palpated your abdomen, running over the right lower part of your abdomen. You wanted to jump out of the bed, tears threatening to fall. Joe noticed, taking your hand. You looked to be in more pain than when you had the kids. She finished, stating she was going to run some lab work and do an MRI but would give you some Zofran and pain medication once your IV was in. Joe knew you hated being stuck. It was one of your least favorite things. Even though you had two children, you still hated it.
“Look at me.”, he said softly.
Your eyes panned over to him as the nurse tied the tourniquet on your arm, searching for a vein—her gloved finger running over your skin. He almost wanted to cry himself noticing how tear-filled your eyes were. Joseph truly hated to see you in pain. At least when you had the babies, there was something to look forward to at the end. Holding your babies was the best feeling and the biggest adrenaline rush. With this, he was unsure where this would go and what was wrong with you.
He stroked his thumb over your hand the nurse wasn’t using. “Remember the first time they stuck you for your IV when you were in labor with Amelia?”
You smiled softly, nodding through your pain. “Yeah. I was in denial about it being real labor.”
He laughed. “But you were so desperate to have her.”
“Big stick.”, the nurse said as she slid the IV into a vein in your arm, but you didn’t really hear her because you were focusing on Joe.
You barely winced as Joe continued. “I was so huge and miserable.”
“You were not.”, he disagreed.
You rolled your eyes. “Whatever.”
He chuckled again as the nurse finished taping your IV. “How many kids do you have?”
“Two—a four-year-old little girl and an eleven-week-old baby boy.”, you answered, wincing at the pain in your abdomen.
She nodded. “Aw, how sweet. What’re their names?”
“Amelia and Arthur.”
“Adorable, alright sweetie here’s your zofran for nausea and she ordered you some morphine for pain, okay?”, the nurse eyed you.
You nodded, thankful that you were finally going to see some relief from nausea, vomiting, and pain. The nurse put the medication through your IV. It was just a few minutes after the Morphine, you instantly felt relief. Joe noticed you finally relaxed, closing your eyes. They wheeled you away from him to have your MRI. Your brain was wracked with thoughts of what could be wrong with you. It terrified you to know that you could focus on what was really ahead of you rather than the immense pain you were feeling.
Bringing you back into the emergency room, you climbed back on the stretcher easily. Joe covered you back up, kissing your head.
“You know I love you more than anything.”, Joe eyed you.
You were a little high on pain medicine. “You do?”, you smiled at him, making a pouty face.
Joe smile with his brown eyes shining, running a hand through your hair. “Yes, I love you and our kids more than anything in this entire world.”
He leaned over and shared a kiss with you, also relieved you were not in as much pain as you had been. It may have been twenty minutes before the doctor came back in.
“Alight Mrs. Quinn, I have your MRI results back and the good news is you’re not experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. The bad news is, you have an inflamed appendix which we call appendicitis. You do need to have emergency surgery to prevent it from rupturing which can cause a lot of complications.”
You and Joe looked at one another, trying to take in this information.
“But—”, you tried to protest, feeling fear and anxiety begin to set in, along with tears welling up in your eyes instantly thinking about spending a night away from your kids.
“No buts, baby. You need this.”, Joe eyed you, rubbing your arm softly.
You knew he was right, you had to have surgery. The doctor said she would have the surgeon on-call to come in and talk to you about your risks, and possible complications, and to review the procedure with you. Your surgical consent would also need to be signed. You would immediately be prepped for surgery. The doctor left to give you all a few minutes to gather your thoughts. Tears were welling up in your eyes, feeling fear and shock beginning to set in.
Joe noticed. “Love, it’s going to be alright.”, he took your hand before kissing it.
“I’m scared, Joe. This is major surgery.”
Deep down inside, he was worried too. But he knew he had to put on a brave face for you.
“I know, love. But this is how you’re going to feel better.”, he brushed through your hair.
He went ahead and called his mom, letting her know they were going to do emergency surgery. The surgeon came in within thirty minutes to talk to you both, explaining everything. You shook as you grabbed the pen and clipboard, signing your name on the signature line, and giving them permission to perform surgery on you to remove your appendix. They give you a quick surgical bath and a new gown.
“She’s gonna be admitted to room 312 after her surgery. You can wait in the waiting room and a nurse will come to get you to come and see her in recovery.”, the nurse eyed Joseph who was from the OR team.
They explained you were going to holding in the OR for them to give you some medicine to relax you before taking you into the operating room. They put a disposable blue bouffant cap on you, the kind the OR team wears and you felt slightly ridiculous but also very tearful.
They stopped the stretcher to allow you and Joseph a moment.
Joe looked down at you with what looked like watery eyes, holding your clothes and a packet they had given you for your admission. He smiled softly before stroking your cheek.
“You’re gonna be fine, love. I’ll be right there as soon as they let me, okay? I promise.”, he kissed your cheek.
“Okay, babe. Check on the kids, please.”
He nodded.
“Do I look ridiculous?”, you asked softly causing Joe to chuckle and smile.
“No, still the most beautiful woman ever. I love you, baby.”
“I love you, too.”, you said, tears in your eyes but Joe kissed you on the lips softly.
You all kept your eyes on each other as they wheeled you away on the stretcher. This was really happening, you were doing this. When they got you down to OR holding, you felt a chill in the air. The nurse took over, reviewing the procedure with you and asking some questions. The anesthesiologist came shortly after to push the medication through your IV, almost instantly calming you down. All you could think about was your kids and Joseph.
“How are you feeling?”, the nurse asked easily.
“Tired…”, you said drowsily, speech slightly slurred.
“Alright, dear. We are going back to the OR and I’m gonna get you to transfer from this stretcher to the table, okay?”
You nodded slowly, closing your eyes. It was a matter of time before you came into the operating room, the staff asked you to transfer over to the bed and it took you a moment to do so, trying to get your body to follow the commands from your brain to move. You didn’t feel half as nervous, the medicine kicking in. The nurse talked calmly as they placed the mask over your face, asking you to count back from ten. You only made it to six before everything went black.
The first thing you remembered when waking up was feeling your husband holding your hand, stroking it softly.
“Hey, love. It’s all over now.”, his voice carried softly.
You fought to blink your eyes open, but everything was blurry. Joseph finally came into view.
“It’s done?”, you asked groggily.
He nodded. “Mhmm. Let me let the nurse know you’re awake and I’ll be right back.”, he kissed your head.
You heard him walk away, meeting the nurse right outside the curtain. You heard them talking as she came into see you and assess you, Joseph sitting back down on the other side of the stretcher.
“How are you Mrs. Quinn?”, she asked.
“Tired…hurting…nauseous.”, you crinkled your face.
“I’ll get you some medicine, okay?”
Joseph held your hand as the nurse left briefly just to grab some medicine and come right back. She told you what each medicine was as she pushed it through your IV, allowing you to get instant relief.
“How are the kids?”, you asked slowly.
“Fine, mom and dad just fed them about an hour ago. Mom said they’re getting baths and going to bed soon.”, he thumbed over your hand.
You nodded, feeling satisfied. They took your vitals a few more times before preparing to take you to your regular room. Joe walked right beside the stretcher the entire time. The nurse told you to keep your eyes open and not fall back asleep. You listened to her. You arrived in your room, the nurse helped you off the stretcher. Joe took over, making sure you made it to your bed before covering you up and kissing your head. She took your vitals again as they handed off report to your nurse on the floor.
They brought you some dinner if you considered broth, jello, and a soda dinner. You ate it easily, looking at Joe and asking him if he was going to eat. He said he would in a little bit. They brought him a tray as well, considering it was so late. You became more alert as the night went on, however, you asked for your pain medicine before getting up to go to the bathroom, which you dreaded so badly. It wasn’t as bad as you imagined it would be, but you were sorer than you had been after having Amelia and Arthur.
Joe held your hand, sitting in a chair by your bed as you fell asleep. He called one more time to check on the kids, both fast asleep. His mom informed him Amelia asked every hour if you were okay and out of surgery. Joe thought that was the cutest thing. While on the phone, he arranged a little surprise for you tomorrow. If all went well, you would get released tomorrow. He knew how much you wanted to go home. He eventually drifted off to sleep in the chair but set an alarm every four hours to wake you up and see if you needed pain medicine. It was cute how much he took care of you.
The next morning, you felt sorer but felt more like yourself. They advanced your diet, finally allowing you to get regular food. Joe called his mom and dad as you ate breakfast. The day began to pass, you trying to watch television and get your mind off things while talking to Joseph and having him by your side. Jamie and Jess texted to see how everything went. Wesley checked in also. It was sweet of them to be concerned and care about you. Joseph smiled at his phone, his mom and dad letting him know they had arrived and would be inside shortly.
You noticed but didn’t say anything. Suddenly, the door opened and you heard the sweetest sound. Your eyes immediately shot over to the door, noticing your daughter.
“Mommy!”, Amelia yelled as she ran over to your bed, a bouquet of flowers in her hand.
“Amelia!”, you said excitedly, smiling from ear to ear.
She ran over to the bed, Joe helping give her a boost while smiling to himself. Her curls were perfect, cascading down slightly past her shoulders. She liked her hair long and you didn’t fight her on that. Joe loved it too, so it stayed. She instantly hugged you tightly, Joe reminding her to be easy on you. You kissed her head.
“Me and Arthur got these for you, mommy.”, she handed you the flowers.
Joe watched with proud eyes.
Tears instantly came into your eyes as you took them from her easily. “Amelia, I love them.”
You hugged her again.
His mom held Arthur in her arms, he was still so small and you had missed him so much. He was only two and half months old. You had pumped enough, thankfully. You had no idea you were going to have surgery, and take pain medication and antibiotics. He squeaked easily, stretching in Joseph’s mother’s arms.
“Aw, it’s my baby boy.”, you looked up at his mom as she brought him over to you.
She handed him to you, and he instantly settled down in your arms, realizing his mommy finally had him again.
“I brought his milk. It’s in the cooler.”, his mom smiled, grabbing it from his dad.
“Thank you guys for everything.”, you smiled, tears in your eyes as you held Arthur in your arms, Amelia leaned over on you.
“You’re most welcome, dear.”, she hugged you.
It was a few more hours before the surgeon came in, admiring your family and giving you the news that you were formally being discharged. You were relieved, ready to go home with your kids and husband.
“Thank you for being here for me, babe.”, you looked up at Joe as Arthur slept.
Joe smiled, kissing your head. “You’re welcome, baby. I love you. I’ll always be right by your side, I promise.”

Muscle-bound Boyfriend's
Tanjiro was sitting on the couch, watching his boyfriend Genya as he lifted weights in their small apartment. Genya was shirtless, and Tanjiro couldn't help but admire his boyfriend's bulging muscles. He had always been attracted to Genya's physique, but today it seemed like his muscles were even more defined than usual.
Genya had always been into fitness and bodybuilding, and he took great pride in his appearance. Tanjiro loved that about him. He loved the way Genya would flex his biceps and show off his abs, and how he would spend hours in the gym sculpting his body.
As Genya continued to work out, Tanjiro couldn't take his eyes off him. He watched as Genya lifted the weights effortlessly, his muscles rippling with each movement. He admired the way Genya's shoulders bulged and his chest expanded with each breath.
Tanjiro had always been shy about expressing his feelings, but he couldn't hold back any longer. He walked over to Genya, who was taking a break from his workout, and wrapped his arms around him.
"Your muscles are amazing," Tanjiro whispered into Genya's ear.
Genya smiled, clearly pleased with the compliment. "Thanks, babe," he said, wrapping his arms around Tanjiro's waist.
Tanjiro could feel Genya's muscles against his body, and it sent a thrill through him. He leaned in and kissed Genya passionately, his hands exploring his boyfriend's muscular back.
As they broke the kiss, Tanjiro couldn't help but admire Genya's muscles once again. "You're so strong," he said, his voice filled with awe.
Genya chuckled. "I work hard for it," he said. "But it's nice to know you appreciate it."
Tanjiro smiled. "I appreciate everything about you," he said, leaning in for another kiss.
As they embraced, Tanjiro knew that he was lucky to have a boyfriend like Genya. Not only was he strong and muscular, but he was also kind and loving. Tanjiro knew that he would always admire his boyfriend's muscles, but he also knew that it was Genya's heart that made him truly special.
