I had that idea too, once upon a time. As I recall there’s nothing for or against the idea, but ultimately I decided to disregard it. Arte and Pollo are commonly treated by the narrative as reincarnations of Hansel and Gretel, even if it’s not said outright (again, that I can remember).

And I think it would be too significant an omission to leave out that Hansel and Gretel had immortal bodies.
