Alternative universe: Ethan took Karl's offer - so while Ethan went head to head with Miranda, Karl was keeping Chris away so he wouldn't fuck anything up.

Karl felt the moment when Miranda dies, his body felt immediately lighter, tears came to his eyes. He was free.

And Ethan.

Ethan.

He needed to get to Ethan, to make sure he was okay. He honestly didn’t care about the child, but if something happened to Ethan, he’d take her as his own. He has grown fond of Ethan. The feeling of affection surprised him, but he couldn’t help but to act on it. He ran to the spot where Miranda was doing her ritual.

He stopped just short of Ethan’s crouched form. “Ethan?” Ethan turned to him, a sleeping Rose in his arms. He looked exhausted, but he was alive. A warm feeling bloomed in Karl’s chest, he dropped to his knees and placed his hands on Ethan’s shoulders.

“Ethan! You did it!”

Too many emotions were bouncing around in his head, he couldn’t voice them. With a watery smile he settled with, “Thank you.”

W ok I was just talking about how annoying fandom opinions are but here’s mine, for one I know it’s just venting probably but saying like x shippers are annoying bc xyz, putting it in the x ship tag to like idek publicly shame the x shippers LMFAO even if it’s like a valid criticism (as wintberger you probably know what I’m referring to) it’s just not going to change anything.
