Olivia, Etta, and Peter | Rated G
“Mama?” The tiny whisper rouses Olivia from her sleep. She forces heavy eyes open and cranes her neck to look at the clock. It’s 3:30 in the morning. 3:30 in the morning with blonde curls staring down at her. Olivia props herself up on her elbow and reaches for Etta’s cheek, stroking it softly. “What’s the matter, baby girl?” To her shock, the four-year-old shakes her head. “Nothing.” “Then why are you awake?” Her daughter’s baby blues glitter from the light filtering in through the window as she whispers, “It’s snowing.”

Okay, now after rewatching a few episodes im once again thinking about my bishops’ madness theory. Allow me to elaborate a bit:
Walter once said ‘grief can drive people to extraordinary lengths’ but for Bishops grief drive them to some sort of madness. For walter, it was to open a door to the alternate universe and save his alternate son as a remedy for failing his own. Kinda insane, but sensible in the eye of a mad scientist.
While Peter, despite trying to draw a line from his eccentric mad scientist of a father throughout the series, acted the exact “Walter Bishop” way when his daughter Etta was murdered, implanting the device giving him the power of observer to avenge her, at the cost of his humanity.
The same goes with Etta. Look how she reacted when she found her friend beheaded and taken to the laboratory to be experimented on. Hadn’t she been stopped by Peter, she’d definitely burst in and wreak havoc, without thinking twice.
So basically I think it’s safe to say that the bishops are not the kind who’d easily move on. A great part of them was forever stuck on the day when they experienced the trauma. They grieve the loss in a way that is far too stubborn and desperate. Probably lunatic in the eye of others. But it runs in the family. Although Walter is the only one branded as mad scientist, they all share the same character. And what makes this so striking is that Etta was not even raised by anyone remotely close to a mad scientist while Peter, although growing up with having Walter around, desperately tried to avoid becoming a mad scientist himself. Yet they both on some level ended up being some sort of mad scientist. Charms of the inheritance, ain’t?

Baby Names
Fandom: Fringe Pairing: Peter Bishop x Olivia Dunham (main canon pairing) Content warnings: pregnancy, spoilers? Word count: 432 Author's notes: set between the season 4 finale (Brave New World) and the Invasion of the Observers, while Olivia is pregnant
Eight-month-pregnant Olivia Dunham sighed, closing the webpage on her computer.  Yet another list of baby names that had all sounded wrong to her had come and gone.  Given that she was due in just a few weeks, Olivia was rather anxious to have at least a few possibilities lined up for her daughter when she was born.
The blonde ran a hand through her hair, wincing when her engagement ring caught a few pale strands.  She and Peter weren’t married yet- they’d agreed to wait until after their daughter was born- but they had begun some tentative wedding plans as well.  Just general things- what color the bridal party (Astrid, Rachel, Ella) should wear, what time of year they’d like best, and so forth.
The doorknob rattled for a moment, attracting her attention, and a moment later the door opened.  “Honey, I’m home.”  Peter called.
“That’s such a cheesy line.”  Olivia returned, grinning.
“Yeah, but you love it.”  He replied, matching her smile as he stepped into the living room.  His gaze swept across the coffee table.  “Can’t find any baby names yet?”
She rolled her eyes in irritation at the issue.  “They’re all too old or too new or too this or too that.”  She sighed again.  “All I know for sure is I want it to start with H.”
“Thank God.”  He chuckled.  “For a minute I thought you were gonna say you wanted it to start with Z or something.”
Olivia frowned.  “What’s wrong with Z names?”
“There’s like, none of them, and they’re all weird.”
“Zoey, Zinnia…” she began to tease, but paused.  “That’s where I run out.  You might have a point.”
“Of course I do.”  Peter joked.  “So, ‘H’ names?”
     “Mm-hm.”
“Well, let me think.  There’s ‘Holly’, ‘Hazel’, ‘Heather’.”
“Hazel is an eye color and heather and holly are plants.”  Olivia retorted playfully.
“Alright, alright.  Hannah- with or without the second h, or any version of Hayley.”  He offered.  Studying her skeptical facial expression, he continued: “Uh, there’s Hope, Harper.”
The blonde shook her head.  “Mm-mm, it’s a little too modern.”
     “Old-fashioned, then?”  “Helen, Hester, Heidi.”
“Those aren’t not bad.  I’ll keep them in mind.”
Peter hummed to himself.  “Those are somewhat older names, so… Harriet, maybe, or Harietta.”
She canted her head.  “I like that even better.”
“The only other one I can think of like that is Henrietta.”
Olivia nodded, her eyes lighting.  “That’s it.  It’s perfect.  I love it.”
“Henrietta.”  Peter repeated thoughtfully.  “I like it.”  He bent down and kissed Olivia’s belly, flooding it with butterflies again.  “We’ll see you soon, Henrietta.”
I know I'm super late to these postings, but I've been super busy lately.

As a Miraculous Ladybug fan who just finished binging Fringe, I find it interesting that both shows have a pair of related girls named Ella and Etta (Alya’s sisters in the former, Olivia’s niece and daughter in the latter).
I know that in real life, the entire Césaire family is named after musicians so it must be just a coincidence, but in-universe I’m picturing Alya’s parents watching Fringe when it airs and then they name their twins after the Dunham girls ‘cause why not?

Post 4x22. When Olivia is once again targeted because of the Cortexiphan in her brain, she’s forced to realize she’s not as safe as she wanted to believe, and neither is her unborn child.
Tumblr media
Olivia’s dreams long ago ceased to be just that; dreams.
For most of her life, she felt like she didn’t actually dream, unable to remember any of them, except for the most upsetting ones. Younger, she’d been prone to nightmares, something that undoubtedly contributed to her insomnia. She used to think she was getting too few REM cycles for her brain to bother coming up with anything.
Things are different, now.
Not only does she remember her dreams, she’s aware that she’s dreaming while she’s dreaming. Those aren’t lucid dreams, though, not exactly. She has no control over what goes on in there, except the ability to wake herself up if needed.
Ever since she first went into that Tank, she’s been a conscious spectator in her dreamscape, a phenomenon that has only gotten worse since the timelines shifted.
Her realities merge in her sleep. The memories of that life she never really lived, she experiences them as a mere bystander. The memories of that life she did live yet forgot, some of them blocked since childhood, they’ve all resurfaced.
These days, she dreams of the Forest.
A couple of years ago, in Jacksonville, she’d visited that landscape for what felt like the first time. She knows better, now. The Forest is not new at all. Symbolically enough, the Forest and its trees are at the roots of her very first nightmares, along with her most recent ones.
In most of them, the little girl is there, too. That little blonde girl she runs after, trying to catch up to her, to protect her.
Olive.
Maybe in some twisted way, this is her subconscious trying to fix itself. There is only so much a psyche can endure before it breaks.
The Forest…this is where it all started.
That little girl who runs through the trees, terrified and lost, she still has a chance. And so, Olivia chases her, night after night. If she got to her, if she could just get to her, so many things would be different.
But she always loses her amongst the trees.

Etta’s Sunrise | Fringe
Olivia & Henrietta Fluffiness 💛
The first thing that occurs to Olivia when her eyes flicker open is that she hasn’t heard a peep from the baby monitor all night. She rolls over to check on Peter, wondering if maybe he’d woken up before her and clicked it off. Except he’s snoring, and quite loudly at that, and the baby monitor is still on her nightstand. The green light is still on, and the clock next to it reads 6:02AM. For half a second, she panics when she doesn’t hear anything of note. Her baby hasn’t so much as whined since she went down last night, and every single possible thing that can be wrong whooshes through her head before she can even comprehend her own thoughts. Then she hears the tiny gurgles and coos, and she can breathe.
