When He Notices Your Baby Bump For The First Time ~ BTOB Reaction
Eunkwang:
“I can really see it now,” Eunkwang accidentally spoke aloud as he watched you walk around the apartment, getting a rare side view of you that allowed him to see your bump.
Your shoulders shrugged as a giggle escaped trying to figure Eunkwang out. “I’m hoping your talking about the bump and not my bum, it’s all getting big with this pregnancy.”
“Of course, I mean the bump, but the bum thing isn’t such a bad thing either.”
Your head shook at Eunkwang’s remark, a snigger coming from him as he knew he was pushing the boundaries. “You’re lucky I’m pregnant otherwise you’d be in big trouble for saying that to me Seo Eunkwang.”
“I can definitely see that you’re pregnant now,” Eunkwang chuckled, “I’ve blinked and suddenly you’re really pregnant Y/N.”
“I’ve not been faking it for the first few weeks,” you laughed in reply, “I’ve really been pregnant all this time you know.”
“But seeing it is different,” he whispered, “like there really is a little life there.”
“I know, our little life too.”
Minhyuk:
“Since when did you suddenly have such a prominent bump,” Minhyuk mumbled behind you, wrapping his arm over your waist as he cuddled up to you, waiting for his alarm.
You nuzzled back to press yourself against Minhyuk’s chest, “doesn’t it just feel like all of a sudden it’s really starting to show? A couple of days ago there was nothing there to feel.”
“It feels like the first proper sign that we’re having a baby, it’s finally sinking in.”
You hummed in agreement with Minhyuk as his hand traced over your bump, trying to encourage you to sleep for a few more minutes. “Just wait until we lay like this and you start feeling their little kicks.”
“Don’t,” Minhyuk chuckled, already feeling his stomach knot with excitement. “I can’t wait for what we’ve got to come our way Y/N.”
“Me too,” you smiled, closing your eyes as a yawn escaped from you. “Do you think we’re ready to have a baby Min?”
“It’s too late now,” he teased, “but I do. We make the best team in my opinion.”
“And in my opinion too.”
Changsub:
“There really is a bump there,” Changsub murmured as he came up behind you, snaking his arms around your waist and feeling against your tummy, catching the curve of your bump.
You tilted your head to look back at Changsub, looking at him in bemusement. “What did you think I was growing here? You sound surprised to realise that there’s a bump here.”
“It’s overwhelming being able to finally feel it for myself, not just hear about it.”
Changsub’s hands continued to move around your stomach as he searched to find out all of the little features of your bump. “How do you think you’ll be in a few months when my bump sticks out so far?”
“I think I could cry already,” Changsub honestly admitted, “I think the best way to describe how I’ll be in a while is just a complete mess.”
“You can’t cry on me, my hormones are all over the place and can’t be dealing with you,” you joked, hitting against his arm.
“We can cry together,” Changsub suggested, “this poor baby will be a wreck.”
“What are we going to do Sub?”
Hyunsik:
“Wow,” you heard Hyunsik whisper as you massaged your hands over your bump, rubbing around it in circles as you tried your best to keep it moisturised. “It’s really there now.”
A chuckle came from you as Hyunsik commented on his observation. “You know this bump has been here for a good few weeks now, it’s not just magically appeared like nothing.”
“I’d never really spotted it before, but watching you then I could really see it.”
You smiled widely across at Hyunsik, enthused by the excitement that was so clear in his voice as he watched on. “It’s already getting so big to care for, who knows what I’ll be like taking care of this in a few months.”
“You’ve got me to help you,” Hyunsik reminded you, offering you a wide grin, “you’ll be fed up with me sticking around that bump of yours.”
“No way,” you protested with a laugh, “these days I think I’ll be glad of all the support that I can get in a couple of months' time.”
“I bet you’ll get annoyed,” Hyunik vowed, “you’ll be kicking me out of the house.”
“I bet that’ll never happen.”
Peniel:
“I can see it,” Peniel suddenly announced as you lifted your shirt over the top of your head, brows furrowing as you looked to him in confusion whilst getting your pyjama shirt.
You’d not seen Peniel’s smile so wide in a long time as he refused to look away from you. “What can you see?” You asked him, not making sense of what was going on at all.
“I can see your bump, just then, I could really see the definition at the bottom.”
You glanced down to your bump, cupping underneath it exactly where Peniel had noticed it beginning to show. “This past week it's grown loads, I’ll be huge in a matter of days at the rate I’m growing.”
“I’m so excited,” Peniel whispered as you placed your new shirt on before walking across to the bed, taking a seat right beside Peniel.
“It feels a bit more real now being able to actually see it,” you whispered, deciding to rest your head against Peniel’s shoulder.
“I’ll take care of you,” he promised, “and this ever growing bump at the same time too.”
“We’re both very lucky with you.”
Sungjae:
“Look at you,” Sungjae chimed as he watched you walk down the stairs in your dress for the evening, unable to hide his smile as he noticed a hint of your bump showing through.
As you looked to Sungjae you followed his gaze to where he was looking. “It’s a little tighter than I wanted it to be, I don’t think I’ll be able to hide my bump tonight though.”
“I don’t want you to hide your bump, I want to show it off to everyone who’s there.”
A chuckle came from you as Sungjae closed the distance between the two of you, wrapping his arm around your waist. “Half of my wardrobe isn’t going to fit me soon, it’s already a bit of a struggle to find something.”
“Don’t worry,” Sungjae whispered, pressing a kiss to your cheek, “you could wear anything and you’d still look beautiful in my opinion Y/N.”
“You have to say that,” you jokingly challenged, “I’m pregnant with your baby, if you’re mean to me then I’ll make sure I get my revenge.”
“I’m being serious,” he assured you, “you look even better now your bump is showing too.”
“It’ll take a while to get used to this.”

ACTUALLY do you have any eunkwang thoughts 👀 nobody talks about my boy and they NEED TO
Haha DO I??? Baby you came to the right person. And when I tell you I’ve been giggling all day thinking about answering this ask 🤭
This mf would be a TEASE. And he’d look so innocent while he does it. He’d be so fucking cute, the prettiest smile on his face, and the whole time he’s saying the most toe curling shit.
But on the other hand… he’s crumbling the second you show any type of assertiveness. Like literally. You know how he gets shy when someone compliments him, and usually laughs super loud (as always) or does some stupid gesture? He’d do the opposite. He’d freeze up completely, and his usual goofy demeanor would disappear. He’s said before that he can’t handle women, but for the sake of any male or non-binary readers, we can imagine that applies to anyone he’s romantically involved with lol.
Sungjae also once said that Eunkwang is a tender leader, and doesn’t like to scold the members. He’s a sweetheart, and he’d be the same with you. He’d treat you like a fragile sculpture, and he’d always fuck you lovingly. Even if he’s literally destroying your cervix, he’s kissing you and holding you and telling you how beautiful you are.
I feel like his favorite position would be you on top riding him, or missionary. Any position he can fully see your beautiful body, and your beautiful face. He loves touching you during sex. Running his hands all over your body, groping and squeezing. When you ride him, he goes insane. Watching you use his cock to get off makes him fall apart under you. And missionary is just so personal, I feel like he’d really love the intimacy that comes with it. Absolutely loves holding your body close to his.
Tbh… breeding kink!!! But in a more tender, romantic way. Like it’s just a way for him to claim you completely, body and soul. And biiiig bonus points if you cum with him!!!!!! He’d hold off on cumming and focus on getting you there first. It just feels better that way. And he’d be so attentive to your needs. Sex isn’t just penetration to him. If you want the soul sucked out of you, he is happy to oblige. If you want his fingers and a hot make out session, he is there. He can even handle not cumming himself, and giving all the pleasure to you. So if you’re too tired, don’t worry. He feels complete seeing you feel good.
He’s the type to eat you out after cumming inside, by the way. Just to make you cum again. And again. And… again, because he loves the way you sound. Would talk so sweet to you through every single one. Ask for one more, beg for one more. Loves kissing your swollen clit after abusing it <3
Oh, and he has a thing for biting. His sharp teeth are perfect for marking up your neck, or thighs, or even your ass. He loves when you bite him, too.
Omg but if you want rough Eunkwang, just drive him crazy a bit :) If you call him small, you better be prepared for him to show you what isn’t.
So many thoughts about Eunkwang!!

Kinktober prompt #22: Bondage | Eunkwang (BTOB) | 0.6k words ❧ Kinktober masterlist
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you want my arms like this?” you can’t help but ask as your lover starts tying your wrists together where they rest on your stomach. You’re totally on board with the idea, but you expected him to maybe tie them behind your back or more likely to the headboard. Leave it to Eunkwang, though, to surprise you with anything he does.
“Yeah, I’m sure,” he smiles at you, his excited expression quickly shifting into concern as he pauses, “Unless it’s uncomfortable?”
“No, it’s alright,” you reassure him, “I just expected something else?”
“Why? This is the best,” he murmurs, just as confused and curious as you are. He caves in first, however, explaining his point.
You shiver all over as his fingers brush over your chest. It’s a struggle to keep quiet when he teases your nipples, a playful smirk on his lips. You can only wiggle under him, your hands tied and useless.
“See? Perfect,” he hums, sliding his hands to cup your jaw as he kisses you. You want to touch him. Wrap your hands around his waist, pull him closer but alas - you can’t. So close, yet so far. You whine into the kiss. All you can do is stroke his abs with your fingers. He chuckles, taking great pleasure in your struggles.
“Do you understand now? This has been my master plan all along,” Eunkwang wiggles his eyebrows, making you laugh despite being already short on breath. Trust him to make anything feel comfortable. You can’t say you’re not at least a smidge nervous, but he must know that since he’s still joking around.
“Really though,” he says, voice more serious and dripping with his desire, “It’s perfect - you’re perfect. Your chest is all on display for me, and I can tease you like this and you can’t touch me at all.” To prove his point, he moves away, sitting between your legs with your thighs thrown over his. You’re completely on display for him, not just your chest, but you trust him completely. You know he’ll take care of you.
“Tease me how?” you challenge, unwisely. But you’re ready for him to do anything he wants with you.
Still, you’re taken aback when he dips his fingertips into your entrance, collecting the slick there to guide them through your folds with ease. You hear him growl softly as your back arches, your chest getting squeezed between your tied hands even more. That must be the first time his plan has actually worked.
“You’re so pretty,” he praises, “Next time let me tie you more.” You can only nod and hum in agreement. His fingers feel so good. He knows your body better than you do at this point, you’d bet. Making you shake and moan is a child’s play for him, and he proves that again as he expertly finds your clit and rubs it with his thumb with just the right pressure and speed.
“Kwang-”
“Shhh,” he coos, “Let go, baby. I’ll be taking such a good care of you today.”
You have half a mind to consider his words a subtle threat, but then you’re clenching around nothing as he helps you through your high. Only seconds after, you feel his fingers prod at your entrance.
“Sensitive,” you warn him, voice a little whiny.
“I’ll go slow,” he promises, “But this is really… too much. Can’t wait to be inside you.” You chuckle, biting your lip. You thought this would be just a fun little experiment, but maybe you should do it more often, if he likes it that much. You can’t wait for next time already and you’ve barely started.

Seo Eun Kwang (BtoB) Kinky* Reading
Hello and welcome!
I’m Kleo and I’m here to present some k-pop related tarot readings to you.
Disclaimer:
I would like to state that all these readings have a purely entertainment nature and their purpose is to bring some fun into my and hopefully yours lives. I have never ever met any of the idols / actors / celebrities in my readings, I don’t know them personally. Tarot reading isn’t an exact science and I can never guarantee any of it. Most of it is my intuition mixed with fantasy. Don’t take these readings seriously and don’t base any important decisions on tarot readings only, use your common sense.
If you wish to request a tarot reading, please read the pinned post on my profile first to see the instructions on how to request. I only do readings for idols / actors / celebrities of 18 years of age or older. Requests for readings including younger people will be automatically dismissed. If you feel uncomfortable with these tarot readings, do not engage in reading my posts. Thank you for understanding.

Tumblr media
Seo Eun Kwang
(Eunkwang - BtoB)
Deck: E. A. Poe
Spread: Kinky*
Position - 2 of Pentacles
Eunkwang is pretty adaptable in a relationship. When his lover has a strong and powerful personality, he will submit to them. If his lover is more on the submissive side, he will take care of them. He’s not super into power play, though. He simply takes the role that needs to be taken by him and adapts to it.
Libido - XIX The Sun
Eunkwang is such a cheerful and romantic lover. He’s really a sunshine and his passion comes to him easily and directly. He hides nothing from his partner, he’s very open minded and will do anything to please his lover. Eunkwang is likely to take the bedroom time lightly and with humour, he’s not really into dark and serious stuff.
Turn On - 7 of Swords
He’s likely to feel attracted to someone who’s not exactly his fan. He wants to earn their love and trust. Eunkwang might even fall in love with his rival or enemy. Some sort of adversity makes things spicier for him. He’s a competitive ball of sunshine and will happily challenge his partner and take on challenges from them in return.
Kink - 7 of Wands
Eunkwang is likely to enjoy some play fights in the bedroom. He’s likely to relentlessly tease his lover to provoke them. He’s a little provocateur and will pull pranks or fight over foolish stuff out of fun. His lover should be ready to play along for a little while. Eunkwang will get fed up with drama queens taking everything seriously and being unable to laugh at themselves very quickly.
Dirtiest Secret* - VII The Chariot
As said before, Eunkwang likes challenges. It’s possible his darkest secret is to save a damsel in despair and kill the dragon threatening her. He’s the knight in the shining armour and he’s ready to launch into battle in order to impress his empress.
Thank you for reading!

Now that queendom is over what are your thoughts on all the contestants overall? like did they surprise you? are you disappointed? i just wanted to hear your opinions on them as someone who didn’t know them prior to this (except for hyolyn). Personally i was very surprised by kepler and i look forward to what they’re going to do next even though their stages were never impressive i really admired their energy and i can see how talented they are and i would love to give them a chance in the future, wjsn disappointed me i never saw them perform before but i liked some of their songs so i thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get into them but they kept doing the same thing and i just got bored unfortunately. I never cared about viviz/gfriend and i will continue to never care about them. I was surprised by loona in a good way loved the shake it stage and the final one same with brave girls that final stage was fantastic and so much fun and you can see how free they felt because they didn’t have to worry about the ranking. Do we have to talk about hyolyn she’s a legend but i have to admit that unlike you i really didn’t like her final song which was a bummer :(( in conclusion it was fun but if they do a queendom 3 i really wish they change some of the challenges which brings me to my next question if you could design a show like this what would you choose for the challenges? (Sorry this is very long and i asked you two questions) enjoyed your weekly reviews of the performances!!
oh hmmmm, good question (the first one). other than the first one i didn't actually watch the full episodes, just the stages, so tbh i'm pretty sure i know just as little as you about all the contestants! i'm not a big girl group fan so coming into the show the only two i had any really familiarity with were hyolyn and brave girls, and both of them exceeded my expectations. viviz i knew would be be poor performers and they blew well under that expectation from me. also no one should be supporting them anyways why were they allowed on this show. i only knew wjsn from the black and chocome, and i will admit that i am disappointed by their showing during queendom. their first stage was pretty good and there was a lot of potential there, but they stalled HARD and ended up producing really lackluster stages for the rest of the run. design wise they dropped a lot of balls and also did some stuff that i consider to be very unsafe (the pantomime stage), and honestly i did not like any of their music either, so i'm not that interested in checking them out beyond the show. i don't even know if i can pick out a reason why they stalled so hard either, since i know they have the capacity to do more focused concept work bc of the black and chocome. the only thing that i can maybe think of would be that they were trying to do some sort of connected universe type thing that tbz were trying to do, but if they were it was absolutely inscrutable to me.
loona i don't think my opinions of them are changed? like i said in my reviews they clearly have access to good set and costume designers when they want to, but i wasn't particularly impressed nor disappointed? someone sent me an ask about them before the show started and i've left it until after the show was finished, so i've kind of been holding back a judgement on them until i get started on actually watching some of their mvs. they had one of the better runs on the show but i always ended up finding that their stages were incomplete in some way? like they always seemed to have one design element that was really good but then the rest fell by the wayside. like the set and lights for butterfly were good, but the costumes sucked ass, or the costumes for pose were great but the lighting was horrid. it was very inconsistent, which was not something that i've seen in any of this series before? like with kingdom i could logically map out the choices how the design teams were working; like skz had ass costumes because i know jype has garbage stylists, or how sf9 generally had across the board really good stylings. like the discrepency between the pose costumes and the shake it costumes are SO high from a costume designer's perspective. like you do a stage themed after one of THE most iconic western eras of fashion that has a ton of modern subcultures specifically surrounding it and you somehow don't manage to use THE most iconic garment from that era, but two stages later you can put up costumes that pinpoint an approximately five year chunk of history with a extremely specific situational circumstance AND include references to one of the most famous designers of the time????? i cannot explain that other than they just straight up hired a new stylist. or their stylist is really into versace history, idk. it's really weird.
kepler.........sigh. it was intensely unfair of mnet to put them on this show. these girls were fresh off of ANOTHER survival show, they had JUST debuted, they had a maximum of like five songs, and then you're gonna put them up against HYOLYN??????? also the fact that there are still minors in the group?????? like everything about having them on the show was wrong. and i can't even say that the girls made the best of it because their creative teams were making them do inappropriate shit half the time! i feel so bad for those girls. i think maybe if they had had a couple more years under their belt it would have been a slightly different story, but even then not everyone can be ateez going toe to toe with btob. i think i mentioned it in one of the earlier reviews but this process must have been very creatively demoralizing for kepler. they were so ill equipped to be competing against these more senior groups and it showed in their stages and in their rankings. the ONLY thing that saved them from placing last was that they had probably the largest fanbase. i also don't know what the deal is with their company, maybe it's because they're a project group, but it felt like they got NO good creative support. like their styling and their design work and even their choreography was just not up to snuff for the scale of this show. like they're mnet's group and i'm pretty sure they're managed by the same company that managed wannaone so like. what's the deal. you guys have money, where are you putting it? it feels like they just threw them out there to let them drown.
as for your second question, i am so so certain that someone sent me a similar ask about designing a kingdom type show ages ago but i cannot find it anywhere, and someone did ask me about my predictions/what i wanted to see for queendom before the show started here! in terms of changing the challenges, i would do a couple of things:
keep the song swap/cover song round, but instead groups would have to swap genders AND generations, kind of like what they did during rtk. so if it was queendom they'd have to do like 2nd gen boy group songs or if it was kingdom they'd have to do 3rd gen girl groups (generations are changeable, it just has to be different from the one of the performing groups). therefore there's a challenge for arranging AND for performing
i really liked what double trouble did where they would assign like a theme word with each song, so i would go for one round where everyone picked a theme word out of a hat and then they had to make a song work with that theme word
prop round. either it would be everyone gets assigned the same prop and they have to all make performances around it, or like the theme word round they get randomly assigned a prop (like canes, hats, chairs, etc) that they have to work into the choreo. tbh the props could be really weird or really normal, it doesn't matter.
i would also keep the collab stages, but instead of them being just dance/vocal units, i want them to make whole new groups. they can either be 'randomly' assigned or they can be like, all the same mbti types or zodiac signs or whatever. the unit stages are fine and i liked that they brought in choreographers for queendom 2 but i think a real test would be negotiating a new group structure. and i think it would help distribute some of the talents better.

hi! can i request super flirty seungmin on a first date, just him being really confident, winking and smiling. ever since i watched that one eye contact video of him and eunkwang on kingdom i keep imagining what it would be like going on a first date with him … 😩
cw: friends to lovers, flirting, confident!seungmin wc: 0.6k
Tumblr media
It was when you knew someone for so long and you were comfortable with them that the transition from friends to lovers seemed easy. Seungmin was over the moon internally when Y/n agreed to go on a date with him after he finally confessed his feelings after bottling them up and trying to push them away for so long. So he was gonna make this one of the best first dates ever. He was determined in all honesty.
He planned it out meticulously, he wanted it to be perfect. Once the day came, he was oh-so confident as he went to pick them up from their house. None of the first-date jitters hit him really. He somehow dodged all of them entirely. Y/n walked out of their apartment and met him downstairs and saw the smiling puppy waiting for them. Y/n smiled as they walked up to him. “You’re gonna bounce out of your shoes, Minnie.” Y/n giggled
“And I’m not sorry about it. Come on,” Seungmin held his hand out to them. Y/n playfully rolled their eyes at him and took his hand before letting him pull them down the sidewalk. Their first stop was at a small cafe they both pretty much frequented and loved a lot. Seungmin ordered their regular drinks and grabbed a couple of food items for them as well. He leaned back against a wall and pulled them into him and wrapped his arms around their hips. And just smiled, “Hey.”
“Hi,” Y/n smiled back and moved his bangs out of his eyes, “Your hair’s getting long again.”
     “You think?”
“Your bangs are almost touching your lashes, Min.” Y/n giggled before they called his order out.
Seungmin grabbed the order and walked out of the cafe with Y/n. The two made their way down to the Han River, getting onto the grass and Seungmin dragged her over to a small little tent. It was about late afternoon. Y/n wasn’t blind to innie and changbin running away from the tent, obviously, the two helped him set up and guarded the tent until they got there. There was a small table and matt set up in front of the tent. The tent itself had a couple of pillows and a blanket. Let’s not forget the small and simple bouquet of flowers that lay on the blanket.
“Minnie,” Y/n awed at him as he set the bag on the table and sat himself down on the matt.
“Yeah?” He asked as he set his shoes on the grass. Y/n followed him before wrapping their arms around him and kissed his cheek.
“I like this sweet side of you.” Y/n smiled.
Seungmin turned to look at them. Y/n could get lost in those brown puppy dog eyes if he let them. “Only for you, don’t tell anyone else about it.” Seungmin took one of their hands and kissed their knuckles, keeping that eye contact before making them eat and enjoy their drinks together.
Talking was easy, but also hard since it was perceived as more romantic than just a friendly hang-out for them now. They both occasionally caught a blush on the other’s cheeks. After finishing their food, Seungmin crawled into the tent, putting the flowers to the side and holding his arms open to them, “come here.”
Y/n smiled and crawled into the tent with him, Seungmin pulled them immediately into his arms and wrapped himself around them, kissing the top of their head. “Wanna stay and stargaze?”
“Love too. Doubt we’ll see many stars.” Light pollution was hell in cities like Seoul but you could still see a few stars out there in the night sky.
Didn’t matter to either of them though. Really just enjoyed embracing each other in the small tent, laughing, joking, flirting, and sharing a few pecks.

When He Calls You Mine ~ BTOB Reaction
Eunkwang:
You wore a nervous smile as you were greeted by some of Eunkwang’s family, not recognising any of them. “And who are you?” One of them asked as they went over to greet Eunkwang.
“This is Y/N,” he proudly smiled, wrapping his arm around your waist, “she’s actually mine, Y/N is my partner auntie.”
Her smile turned up as she met your eyes, “it’s lovely to meet you Y/N,” she told you, her smile genuine and her eyes bright as she then looked across to Eunkwang.
“It’s lovely to meet you too,” you smiled back across to her.
After a few moments, his aunt walked away, leaving you and Eunkwang alone again. “They’ll be a lot of introductions today,” he warned you.
“You’re not going to keep telling everyone that I’m yours, are you?” You asked Eunkwang, letting go of a chuckle when his head nodded in reply to you.
“You are mine,” he reminded you, pressing a kiss to your cheek, “it’s not making you shy hearing me call you mine by any chance?”
“A little,” you smirked, “it’s just around your family too, it feels like a pretty big deal.”
“I’m just being honest with them.”
Minhyuk:
A lump ran down your throat as you felt a presence just beside you at the bar, looking around in a bit of a panic. “What are you doing all by yourself?” The figure soon asked you.
“I’m waiting for my boyfriend,” you told them, avoiding eye contact with them, “he’s just gone for a couple of minutes.
A snigger came from the guy beside you, “I’ve heard that trick before, pretend you’ve got a boyfriend because you don’t want the guy to speak to you, right?”
“Hey, she’s mine,” a voice called out, as if on cue.
Your eyes looked past the guy’s shoulder to see Minhyuk with his arms folded across his chest. “Is it still a trick?” You asked him confidently.
“I’m sorry,” Minhyuk whispered across to you as the guy backed away, walking straight over to you and wrapping his arms tightly around your frame.
“It’s not your fault,” you hummed as you rested against Minhyuk’s shoulder, letting go of a bit of a sigh of relief to be with him.
“No one talks to what’s mine,” he told you. “There’s no way he’d have had a shot with you.”
“He’s not as good as you anyway.”
Changsub:
His eyes watched as Minhyuk grabbed you, pulling you across to sit beside him on the sofa. “Hey, Y/N’s mine,” Changsub called out to him as he watched Minhyuk take you.
“Y/N’s on my team,” Minhyuk responded, but Changsub’s head shook as he reached forwards too to pull you back to him.
You didn’t quite know what to do as both of your arms were held onto, “you said earlier that you wanted to be on Hyunsik’s team, so I’ll take Y/N onto my team.”
“That was before I knew Y/N was playing,” Changsub argued.
A sigh came from you as you looked between the two of them, “maybe it’s best if I go on Changsub’s side, why don’t you take Hyunsik instead?”
“Sure,” Minhyuk agreed, unable to bring himself to look across at Changsub, unable to imagine how smug the smile was that he wore, “I’m happy with Hyunsik.”
“I knew you’d come and play with me,” Changsub proudly smiled as Minhyuk dropped your arm, “Y/N prefers me to you Minhyuk.”
“Hey,” you scolded, “I’m only on your side so no one has to deal with you pouting.”
“I never pout, what do you mean?”
Hyunsik:
The eyes of the boys watched you both as you and Hyunsik walked into the studio with your hands intertwined. “Is this…have you guys…are you finally together now?”
“I finally asked Y/N to be mine,” Hyunsik laughed, raising your hands up in response to Sungjae’s stuttering question.
The volume in the studio quickly picked up as the boys cheered for you both, “it’s about time, we thought you two were just going to be in denial together forever.”
“We were never in denial,” you laughed at Eunkwang.
His eyebrows raised questionably back across at you, “we were starting to bet whether we’d have to force you guys together instead.”
“We weren’t that bad,” Hyunsik chuckled, “but you’ll all be pleased to know that we’re together, and you guys don’t have to pull any of your stupid pranks.”
“Agreed,” you spoke up, “you guys have been far from subtle in trying to do things to bring the two of us together.”
“You noticed,” Minhyuk sniggered, “we just wanted you guys to be together.”
“And at last, here we are.”
Peniel:
You were tentative as Peniel walked back across to you after greeting a few of his fans. “Are you alright?” Peniel asked you as he quickly realised how distant you were.
“They’re a lot,” you told him, nodding in the direction of his fans, “it’s not really my kind of style I guess with them.”
Peniel nodded as he reached across and took a hold of your hand, “some of the fans do like to try and be a little bit flirty, I never quite know what to do myself.”
“They definitely like you,” you muttered under your breath.
A sigh came from Peniel as he tried to bring your eyes back to him, “you’re mine, none of them, let them do whatever they want to do.”
“I know,” you weakly smiled, glancing up and meeting Peniel’s eyes, “it’s just such a weird thing to watch, all these fans throwing themselves at you.”
“I wish there was more that I could do to stop them,” he admitted, “but you know that I’m with you, you’re the one I want.”
“I do,” you agreed, “like you told me, I’m the one that gets to be yours, right?”
“Exactly, you’re mine Y/N.”
Sungjae:
You didn’t quite know where to look as one of Sungjae’s managers cornered you, wanting to know who you were. “I’m here with Sungjae,” you nervously stuttered to them.
“Are you though?” They challenged, firmly glancing down at you, “do you know how many people like to say that.”
As he fell silent, a voice cleared from behind them. “Y/N’s mine,” a familiar voice told them, watching on as the confidence that was in his manager fell apart.
“Oh, I see, sorry,” he told you, stepping aside for you.
Sungjae immediately made his way over to you, draping his arms over your shoulders. “I’m sorry I didn’t come and find you Y/N.”
“It’s alright,” you sighed, resting your head against Sungjae’s shoulder. “I really thought that I wasn’t going to be allowed backstage for a second there.”
“Like I told him, you’re mine,” Sungjae proudly smiled, “there’s no way that I wouldn’t find a way to bring you in here.”
“Thank you,” you chuckled, “it feels pretty good to hear you call me mine too you know.”
“You better get used to it.”

BTOB Reaction | You Confess You Like Them
Pairing: BTOB Members x Reader
Requested by anon: OMG OMG OMG I LOVE UR BTOB STUFF !! I was wondering if u could do a thing with BTOB reactions with reader telling them they like them !! Like the members (separately) liked reader for a while and thought they didn’t like them back but then reader confesses !! I love ur work babes thanks for reading !! <3
A/n: written a bit later than i would have preferred but it has been written!
Tunes: watching CONCACAF Champions League Guadalajara vs Forge. involuntarily rooting por las chivas de Guadalajara cause i'm afraid my mom may actually end me if i say anything else :')
Eunkwang:
When I tell you that the confessions comes as a shock to Eunkwang I mean it
Not once in the time that he’s been pinning over you did it ever occur to him that you would have the same feelings
It seemed so far out of reach and as though only a miracle would even make it possible
But there you were
Standing directly in front of him
Confessing that you like him
And had liked him for a while
Did he hear fireworks go off?
Minhyuk:
As confident as Minhyuk could be in everything he does
Knowing he could quite literally have anyone he wants
But he can’t have you
The only person he really wants
All because you could never possibly like him
So when you confess your feeling for him
His heart melts and he’s jumping for joy
On the inside
On the outside, he’s a bit cocky and full of himself
But he does show how much it means to him and that he’s glad you feel the same
Changsub:
How could you ever like him?
Changsub was sure that he wasn’t your type
Not even close to your type in his mind
How could he, an introverted awkward man, even be someone you set your eyes on?
So you can imagine the shock on his face when you are before him confessing to him
I wouldn’t be surprised if he cried a little bit once you told him as such
It truly does mean the world to him
And he swears that he will spend everyday letting you know just how much he loves your for the entirety of your relationship
Hyunsik:
Maybe I’m crazy
But I imagine Hyunsik playing his guitar
Strumming along to some random melody that all too quickly becomes about you
He dreams of the day he’d have the guts to serenade you with it
A song for and about you
Written by him from the deepest part of his heart
But he needs to work himself up to it, because he doesn’t want to put himself out there only to be rejected
And boy oh boy does it take him by surprise when you’re the one confessing to him
Sans music
Because now he has a chance to serenade you without fear
Peniel:
I feel as though either Peniel’s mom or sister
Quite possibly both
Know about his feelings towards you and how scared he is of being rejected by you
This man is whipped and everyone can tell
Everyone but you because you don’t see it but still work up the courage to confess regardless of the possibility of being rejected
You only get a few words in
Long enough to say “I like you”
Before he’s interrupting you
Saying he feels the same and that he wishes he would’ve been brave enough to tell you first
Sungjae:
Sungjae wishes he had the guts as one of the many roles he’s played on screen to tell you
As confident as he is
He doesn’t want to lose you
But he doesn’t want to not tell you how he feels
He’s pondering this issue for a while
And eventually you beat him to confessing as you come an end on your own pondering session
And your confession is what he needs to confess as well

Build Up, Ep 4 Recap: Kick It v The Little Prince
Tumblr media
Welcome back to the project nobody minds waiting two weeks for -- my MNET Build Up Recaps! In the previous one, we finally finished episode 3, seeing that match up between Jay and Wumuti. In this one, we’ll see WEi’s Seokhwa and AB6IX’s Woong take on two trainees. Will the sunbaes beat the hoobaes? Will the hoobaes rebel? Only one way to find out!
After a super brief recap, the episode dives in to the first match of the episode: idols versus trainees. People comment on the flashy outfits idols Seokhwa and Woong are wearing, and wonder if they’ll dance.
Tumblr media
“Idol beauty radiates -- Kang Seokhwa (left) x Jeon Woong team”
They introduce themselves as “fate,” and I think it’s a pun/meme that would make sense to Korean viewers because it makes everyone else laugh.
Both Woong and Seokhwa were on team Ditto, and Woong ended up with a low tier ranking even though I think his voice sounded quite nice.
In comparison to Seokhwa and Woong’s punky idol styling, the trainees Ji Yeonwoo and Jeong Yunseo are dressed simply and cutely.
Tumblr media
Yeonwoo, left, was low tier in Decalcomanie for forgetting the words, poor kid.
You might remember Yunseo most for his red outfit in the first episode that made him look like he drove racecars for a living. (It was cute, don’t get me wrong.) You might also remember his bold confidence in his team performance of Beautiful, where unlike his fellow trainee Minseo, he seemed to be completely sure that he’d succeed. I really love his attitude!
The judges start off by asking the trainees if they’re nervous, and Jaehwan reminds Yeonwoo about his mistake. Yeonwoo says that he’s been having nightmares every night reliving that moment and that it was the worst moment of his life. Poor kid, god, can you imagine? I just want to hug him. Anyway, he promises not to make a mistake again. The other judges yell at Jaehwan for bringing it up.
The two teams trash talk a little -- the trainees say that they have nothing to lose, essentially. The idols say that the trainees are cute, and that they think beating the trainees would be a good story for MNET. Eunkwang rightfully points out, however, that a better story for MNET would be if the idols lose!
Time for a flashback.
It’s the duet-forming portion of the day, and we see Seokhwa go straight for Woong. Since Woong was in the Low Tier and probably was scared no one would pick him, you can tell he’s really glad to see Seokhwa!
Tumblr media
“This is the narrative,” reality-savvy Woong interviews. “If you fall and go back up? That’s the narrative.” Yes, but unfortunately, MNET also likes it if you fall and keep falling. They’re sociopaths that way.
This pair up may not have been the best idea, as we’ll see, but it makes a lot of intuitive sense that these two would want to work together. For one thing, they have had similar careers so far. Both WEi and Ab6ix could be considered post-ProduceX101 groups, and they debuted 15 months apart (first AB6IX, then WEi). They would have friends in common, for starters, and given that both groups put out three singles each in 2021 and 2022, they had to be promoting at the same time at least a few times. Woong is Seokhwa’s sunbae since Woong debuted first, but Seokhwa is older, making their relationship a bit more balanced. Also, they obviously solidified their friendship during their preparations for Ditto. Plus, Seokhwa wanted to work with another idol so they could do an idol-style performance, something more dynamic than Ditto. As I said, it all makes sense, especially if you remember that often times the winning group on Boys Planet would be the group that got along better.
Ok, in this next portion I need to talk about Ji Yeonwoo and Jeong Yunseo. I think that if I were reading these recaps, I’d find those names similar enough that I wouldn’t be able to remember who is who and I might have to scroll up and down a lot. So, I’m going to call Yunseo “driver Yunseo.” This is for two reasons: (1) He looked like a racecar driver on the first day.
Tumblr media
And (2) because he really is a “driver” in this storyline!
The flashback also shows us poor Yeonwoo, waiting for a duo partner. He voice-overs that after he messed up the lyrics, he felt like he wanted to “hide in a rat hole.” It looks like no one wants to work with him… until driver Yunseo comes over to rescue him, saying, “Let’s go, ‘04s.” Aww, they’re chingoos! (A “chingoo” is someone the same age as you, which makes you feel like you’re friends -- it’s a Korean cultural thing I don’t totally get.)
Tumblr media
Driver Yunseo thought they’d be a good match, and I think it was smart on his part to pick Yeonwoo too. The two maknae on a show will always get a kind reception, even if they don’t always get the highest scores.
Driver Yunseo either genuinely wants to cheer up his chingoo or he knows that he has to get Yeonwoo’s confidence up if they are going to have any chance of winning, or both, because he puts his arm around his chingoo’s shoulders, he gives him complicated high-5s, and just generally does everything in his power to pump Yeonwoo up. It’s cute.
Tumblr media
Driver Yunseo says: “Ji Yeonwoo, Nekkoya (you’re mine!)”
With Driver Yunseo’s infectious confidence beginning to spread to him, Yeonwoo vows to “rebel” and win this time. Driver Yunseo says, “I promise you, I’ll make you a narrative.” Yunseo GETS IT, you guys. I really like this kid.
Anyway, so, all the guys are sitting on the floor whispering to each other about which duos they want to challenge. Driver Yunseo says, “the team I think we can beat no matter what is Kang Seokhwa’s team.” I hate to say it, but that was pretty smart.
Ok, hear me out, because I really like all four of these guys and wouldn’t want any of them to be sad or anything, but I have noticed that Seokhwa’s voice is a bit weak. It’s a very pretty, sweet, light voice; he has a lot of potential, and a lot of current charm, seeing as he did get a judge’s vote. But he often strains on higher notes, and his belts sound like he’s tensing up his throat a lot. He’s super stable as a performer in WEi and is really well suited for the idol life. I’m just not sure that his vocals are quite to the level this show expects. Sorry, RUi!
I also think that as outwardly cheerful as Woong is, I think he’s really feeling low. I actually really like the texture of his singing voice, and think the judges were unnecessarily rough on him. Being put in the low tier when he’s a main vocal was probably pretty distressing for him. Even though *I* know his voice is really nice, it doesn’t seem like anyone on the show really seems to think so. No one is telling him his voice is nice. Only 14 people voted that they’d want to work with him. So with Woong’s confidence and reputation both kind of in the dumpster, he’s also an easy target.
The trainees correctly deduce that the idols are going to want to do something bouncy and higher energy, maybe with the some dancing, and think that they themselves can win by using their vocal skills and youth to charm the judges. “It’s not a bad picture for us if we try to beat the seniors. Not a bad picture at all,” Driver Yunseo whispers to his chingoo. I’m telling you, Yunseo GETS IT.
So up until now, I’ve been unclear as to how the whole situation with the Rival Choosing Platform Area (RCPA) worked. This time, we actually hear Solar announcing Seokwa and Woong’s names, so they were somehow selected to go down to the RCPA. You’d think that maybe the show could have told us how this all works at any point, but that would have eaten into their instant replay time, so I guess not.
Seokhwa and Woong invite a challenger.
Tumblr media
And then a few other teams head down to the RCPA, which kind of hurts the idols’ feelings. Do they look like pushovers? They’re challenged by our two trainees, as well as by Team Geonu x Soomin and Team Hong Seongjun x Kim Seohyung.
Tumblr media
Left to right: Woong, Seokhwa; Kim Seohyung, Hong Seongjun, Geonu, Soomin, Driver Yunseo (hidden), Yeonwoo.
Interesting, those two other teams end up each others’ rivals and are up third in this episode! So we’ll see them in the post after the next one.
The trainees make their case.
Tumblr media
“I thought it would be an interesting scene, you know, for the viewers, you know, if the idols and trainees go against each other.”
“Ahh!”
“Especially if we win!”
“What?”
“Nothing!”
Seokhwa chooses the trainees, reasoning that they’d be easy to beat. And only later do we find out that Woong had told Seokhwa that the trainees were the one team he wanted to avoid, because it would be disastrous to lose to them! But more on that shortly.
The trainees decide that to show off their singing skills and youthful appeal, they’ll sing “The Little Prince,” originally performed by Ryeowook from SuperJunior. The song was released in 2016, when Ryeowook was almost 30, but it’s a sweet and youthful-feeling little song about love and friendship inspired by the classic story The Little Prince.
Sample lyrics:
Making a heart that is like the wind stay with me Is such a hard thing I know But I won’t say anything, I’m just waiting for you The Little Prince told me That gaining someone’s heart Is the hardest thing to do, come to me The Little Prince said to me It might be sad right now But we’re never gonna be apart That you’re going to want to laugh with me
As they head into the performance, poor Yeonwoo talks more about how miserable he was after he made his mistake. The stakes are high! He vows to do better this time.
Watching the trainees getting ready, Baekho and Seungkwan -- who are signed to the same agency -- talk about how their monthly evaluations as trainees made them more nervous than performing ever did. Boy, do I get that! I’d rather perform 100 times than audition once.
Before they perform, the trainees do some squats, for some reason (I guess maybe to shake off the nervous energy?) and then steel themselves. It’s time!

Tumblr media
My thoughts:
Tumblr media
Yeonwoo, left, in the s w e a t e r over a collared shirt, and Yunseo, right.
Aww, this was cute.
Have you ever been watching a competition reality show that involve a creative element, like Top Chef or Project Runway or Glow Up or Bake Off, and a contestant says “I’ve never done this before, but you don’t win by playing it safe!” And you, watching at home, are like, “omg, why are you doing that? If you’ve never worked with leather, if you’ve never cooked lamb, if you’ve never used prosthetics, if you’ve never made caramel, or whatever the hell durned foolish thing you’re going to do for the first time on international TV, why are you doing it now?” And most of the time they end up going home, while someone who made sure to safely land the plane is the one who wins.
These two landed the plane.
This song isn’t necessarily easy to sing; it has a lot of high notes and requires a lot of vocal agility to make it through the melody and the rhythm, both of which get tricky at times. However, the “concept” or idea behind the song is relatively straight forward and easy for these two to deliver -- a sort of youthful view on love as something that you can hope for if you’re patient. Also, though Ryeowook is a main vocal of SuJu and has a great voice, he’s not someone supernatural like Chen that would be a really, really hard act to follow.
Yeonwoo and Driver Yunseo both have good, young voices with tons of potential. I think they both could use a bit more training and experience, but they really do both deserve to be on this stage. Both sounded more than a bit nervous, which may have contributed to their breath control issues, but both held strong to the end and I didn’t notice any pitchiness or major tempo mistakes, which is big.
Of the two voices, I think I like Driver Yunseo’s a little more, as a Yeonwoo is still a bit nasal at times. Yeonwoo also went a tiny bit fast at a few points, and his high notes were a little bit strained. Driver Yunseo’s lower register is really gorgeous, while Yeonwoo’s higher notes are a bit stronger. They made a great duo! I don’t think they’re going to win this show, but I’m glad they’re on it.
The MNET edit is very retrained. Mostly it’s just the two trainees singing, with occasional shots of the guys backstage looking both proud and hopeful, like this:
Tumblr media
Hyukjin, left, and Jeong Inseong from KNK, who will be going third in episode 5.
And the judges smiling indulgently and/or uncertainly, like this:
Tumblr media
When they’re done, everyone applauds for the maknae.
Tumblr media
The judges say things like, “aww, they must have practiced a lot!”
Backstage, the guys joke about how well the trainees’ did -- “are they our sons? Did we raise them?” -- and also joke a bit about how old they feel in comparison to them.
Tumblr media
“If we sang The Little Prince, it wouldn’t come out like that!” Hwanhee from Up10tion says. “Old princes would come out if we sang.” Hwanji is like, “hey man, stop talking like that.” They’re only 24/25 years old, so he has a point.
Seokhwa and Woong, waiting in the wings, say, “They did a great job. Much better than in rehearsal.” You can see the worry on their faces.
The judges vote, and we get the high and low score -- a high of 92 from Seungkwan from Seventeen and a low of 70 from Jaehwan. That’s the lowest “high score” and the lowest “low score” we’ve seen thus far, but it’s not embarrassing or anything. They look pretty happy!
Tumblr media
Seungkwan is like, wow, Jaehwan, what’s up with the 70?
And a glowing light comes out of Jaehwan’s eyes and his body begins to slowly levitate as he says, “In place of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen! Not dark, but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Treacherous as the sea! Stronger than the foundations of the earth! ALL SHALL LOVE ME, AND DESPAIR!”
I mean, maybe not literally.
Seungkwan mentions Yunseo’s early lines, which were in fact quite sweet and lovely. “I think it started off well and went along steadily until the end without bumps.”
Jaehwan says, “Actually I really liked it. Maybe it was the purity that comes form the vocal tone…? I felt like I was listening to angels’ songs.”
Everyone is like, wtf? You cheered for them and loved them and gave these “angels” a 70? Backstage, one of the guys mutters, “He’s going to hell.”
Tumblr media
Jaehwan continues: “I still thought about it calmly. When I heard the song, I felt endlless possibilities, but when considering the average level of singing ability, I thought that 70 was the appropriate score. It wasn’t bad, though!”
Eunkwang says, “it was so good, but….” and he points out that Driver Yunseo sort of bounces in a bowlegged way as he sings. That’s exactly the kind of helpful feedback that a good sunbae should point out, says I, and the other judges agree.
Backstage, Seokhwa and Woong are really nervous now. I think the trainees had had a really bad rehearsal and so the idols were pretty sure they’d have an easy time of it. But now the idea that a pair of debuted idols would lose to trainees who did a kind of straight-forward performance is just really sinking into their heads.
Woong is worried that maybe people will lose interest in AB6IX if he doesn’t do well on the show. Oh, I doubt that, Woong-ah. It’s a parasocial thing -- people might even like you better if you lose.
We see a flashback to the rival choosing moment, and this is when we learn that Woong really didn’t want to go up against the trainees, because the optics of losing to them would be awful and the optics of beating them wouldn’t be much better. He had told Seokhwa as much, which Woong finds perplexing.
Seokhwa either didn’t hear or didn’t think it really mattered, and chose the trainees because he thought it would make them stand out. I think I’m with Woong on this one! Woong interviews, “I can’t get any lower than I am right now. We better win.”
The idols have a nice cozy rehearsal studio to work in, but no sweaters.
Tumblr media
Seokhwa reveals that he overheard the trainees talking ant that they’re planning to do a bright, youthful ballad. Seokhwa wants to show that ballad vocals aren’t the only kind of vocals, and maybe doing something more hip, with an R&B vibe, would give them their own lane to drive in. The judges liked their performance skills in Ditto, so they should capitalize on that. That sounds great to me, Seokhwa!
What about maybe Butter by BTS? That song is catchy af. Or what about Blooming Day or Hey Mama by EXO-CBX? I think both of those songs would sound good as a duet, and both would get the judges on their feet! Ok, sure, with the EXO-CBX songs you’d be following in some amazing vocal footsteps, but I think it would be fine! There’s also a bit of rap to show off here.
But nope. They want to do “Kick it” by Blackpink. I don’t know why on earth they chose this song! This is one of those songs where Teddy Park had a lunch date he really wanted to keep, so he just sort of threw some notes in a random order and had Jennie sing with as much swag as humanly possible so that it sounded almost like a melody.
Also, there's another problem here. See, Woong is a very derivative singer. I really like his voice, as I’ve said before, but if you listen to his vocal check performance and compare it to the original singers’ version, it’s nearly identical, to the smallest detail. I think Woong needs to hear an example of really good singing in order to match it, and he’s not going to get it on this song. Do not get me wrong; the members of Blackpink are all fantastic performers and I always enjoy their vocals. But none of them sings in a way that is likely to draw positive attention on a show like this. Rosé in particular worries me -- she has a gorgeous natural instrument, and the YG singing style is teaching her really bad habits that might hurt her vocal cords long term. In any case, there’s nothing for Woong to appropriately mimic here to pull out an outstanding performance.
I really get the feeling that they were overwhelmed by the possibility of choosing any song in the whole world. They wanted to do a girls’ song because it would be cool and attention grabbing, and then wanted to do a Blackpink song because Blackpink is so popular, and once they’d made that choice, they sort of randomly chose this song. The choosing was stressful and they wanted to get to the part where they’d already chosen. That happened to me with my fella when we were trying to pick out curtains. Now we have curtains that don’t really match the room. Sigh.
If they had really wanted to do a girls’ song, I think Impurities by Le Sserafim would have been cool -- it has a beat and you can definitely dance to it, but it’s also kind of smooth and sexy. It has a real tune and real chords and they could have done something cool with it. Or maybe Eleven by IVE. It could have sounded really cool! (For both of those links, go to speed and set it to 1.25, or if you know how to do custom, 1.15 is perfect. That way it’s at normal speed, just a lower pitch.)
Anyway, Seokhwa wants to show how cool they can be.
Tumblr media
They rehearse at Woong’s agency, Brandnew Music (I mean, blur it all you want, MNET, the logo is pretty obvious), practicing as hard as they did when they were trainees.
Before they start, the judges talk about how with the song they’re doing, they’ll have to really light up the stage and have fun. The judges are hoping for a good performance showcasing singing, dancing, and rap. As the lights go down, Wendy says, “This is what they’re best at. They shouldn’t be so nervous.”
Here is the full version without reactions.
Tumblr media
My thoughts:
Overall, it’s just sort of curiously lacking something. I watched this on an airplane on my tablet, and wondered if maybe it just felt “off” because of my environment, but then I remembered that I was really impressed by Jay and Bitsaeon in the same circumstance.
They both seem so nervous, especially Seokhwa, who runs out of air in the middle of lines, and keeps brushing his hair back anxiously. Woong remembers to smile and connect with the camera, but you can almost see him trying to remember the dance steps. Woong is obviously doing a Jennie impression a lot of time, as I expected him to do, and it just doesn’t sound as good as it does when he just sings as himself.
As they sort of settle in, it seems like maybe they can relax and pull it out at the end, but then a Terrible Thing happens: Seokhwa’s voice cracks on a high note.
Oh no.
Tumblr media
It’s pretty noticeable, and I already know that it will be a lot more noticeable when MNET does a few instant replays. Seokhwa!! Oh no!!! Baby!!
I really think both of these guys are sweet and lovable, and both have nice singing voices that are well suited to being a main vocalist of an idol group. I think a combination of nerves and bad song choice really brought them down in this case, but they haven’t lost me as a fan. Fighting!
I almost don’t want to watch the MNET edit. It starts off with lots of appreciative reactions from the judges and other guys, but as the song wears on, we start to see more looks like this from the judges:
Tumblr media
Backstage, sympathetic Bitsaeon mutters, “They worked so hard for this,” and you know he’s thinking, “... and it turned out like this.”
Tumblr media
Look how miserable Woong looks even *before* Seokhwa’s crack.
And then the crack happens.

We only have to hear it twice, thankfully, and Woong never gives up, to his credit, but there’s no coming back.
When they’re done, the judges applaud politely, if a bit sadly. They’re all vocalists too and they know that cracks can happen, that we’re all just fragile meat bags when you get down to it and are subject to our human failings, but…. Still. This performance wasn’t great, crack or no crack.
Backstage, the other guys try to be positive, focusing on how much time and effort went into the performance, and how hard they must have practiced.
Driver Yunseo says, “It was like watching M-Countdown”...

… but his smile tells us that he thinks that maybe, just maybe, his team has just won.
“You did a good job,” Woong murmurs to Seokhwa, who can’t bear to hear praise right now.
Tumblr media
Dahee asks, “Are you happy with your performance?” and of course Seokhwa says no, he made a mistake and is very disappointed with himself. He seems to be barely, barely, barely holding back tears, but he is holding them back. Fighting, Seokhwa, fighting!
The judges give their scores. Jaehwan seems especially unsure how to vote, but finally he locks it in.
Wendy has given them a sympathetic 80, but Jaehwan has given a 60. (As a reminder, the trainees’ high and low scores were 92 and 70 respectively.)

Jaehwan looks genuinely sad about it, but seems to view this judging thing as a responsibility. Backstage, the other trainees say that Jaehwan is so stingy with his points!
Wendy says her favorite part was the rap in verse 2. She asks if they came up with the choreography, and says it’s not easy to do all that, so she gives them credit. Wendy kind of famously has had trouble with dancing in the past, so it makes sense she’d be impressed by dancing. She adds that it would have been better if they had enjoyed it more, which is exactly what I think. She notes that it was probably really tough for them to go up against trainees, and she felt like they deserved the score she gave based on their attempt to show all the elements.
Jaehwan says he’s “heartbroken” about it because “they’re active singers just like me, and we all perform together on music shows. They’re my colleagues who cheer me up. To be honest it’s very hard for me to rate them. Yet I rated them because I’m sitting here. I expected you to have fun on stage because I know how good you are at performance. I expected you to go crazy on stage, and I just didn’t see that today. So I gave this score because I want to see more confidence from you next time. Fighting!”
VCG chimes in with a good point: because the song was originally intended for women’s voices, changing the pitch made it less exciting. He says, “No matter how excitedly you sing with mens’ voices, it’s never exciting. You need to change your voice or something, but you didn’t. Your tone was the same when you scratched your voice, or for the low tone, or the rap. So it didn’t sound fun.” I think he is right on target with that, and it seems that all the guys listening backstage agree. It didn’t even occur to me before that this could be specifically an issue for when guys sing women’s songs, but it makes so much sense.
The idols bow 90 degrees and say thank you for the helpful feedback. I wish they could have met with the judges or a mentor in advance of the performance!
Now it’s time for the winner to be revealed.

And of course, the trainees took it, 591 to 505. Ouch -- it wasn't even close.
If you subtract out the highest and lowest scores, and take the average of the point value remaining, the average score of the other five judges for the trainees is 85 -- and the average score for the idols is 73. Aww!
With Woong’s encouragement, Seokhwa holds it together.
Yeonwoo says, “I wanted to win, but now that I did, I feel bad.”
I think that makes Seokhwa and Woong feel ever worse, though I think they’re also a bit touched by the trainee’s kindness.
Woong vows that even though they’re on the elimination list, they’re going to “build up and show their best.” But backstage, Seokhwa feels awful. He says that he thinks that he ruined round one as well and keep dragging Woong down.
Tumblr media
Woong interviews later that he was really upset, but just didn’t want to show it in front of Seokhwa, because he’s Seokhwa’s hyung, and it’s a hyung’s job to be strong. Aww! Woong, fighting!
The judges talk about how difficult competition is. Wendy says that it’s hard to show your skills when you’re nervous, and Jaehwan points out that that’s part of your skills, to stay calm under pressure.
And on that sad note, this segment draws to a close.
In the next one, we’ll see Bain and Minseo take on Gwangsuk and Sungjung! Should be a good battle. I’ll see you then!

Note
I hope one day your BtoB polls will infact include some fake options 😭 like some of these had me so surprised, how do you leave Peniel at a convenience store and Changsub being a pro skater like whaaaat I literally cannot imagine him doing that especially with his vocals 😭 that's so crazy
😭😭😭 bestie it best part of that v live is when eunkwang finally realised they lost peniel 😭
youtube
the main reason changsub didn't go pro is he kept getting injured, his mom was super worried about him wanting to drop out of school 😭 then he started winning singing competitions so he switched gears and later on ended getting into this super prestigious university music course, in the same year as hyunsik so they were classmates
