Megalosaurus bucklandii done in August for my friend's Birthday. This is the first non-avian dinosaur named (back in 1827). Since then, many specimens from Europe, North America and Africa have been attributed to it (among them Dilophosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus and even Plateosaurus), but today this species is limited to material from the Middle Jurassic of Oxfordshire (England). Initially, Megalosaurus was represented as a four-legged reptile, similar to a crocodile with the limbs of a large mammal. Now its appearance seems completely different. Despite its historical significance, Megalosaurus is still not well studied.

OOOOOOOHHH BAPY ITS TIME. Thanks for asking!!!! I could literally talk about dinosaurs and palaeontology for days without stopping if you’d let me. You have opened Pandora’s box and it ain’t shutting.

Sosososo I’ve always been a fan of the sauropods, and Brachiosaurus was my first favourite dinosaur, but it was pretty quickly overtaken by Sauroposeidon!! This behemoth from middle Cretaceous USA has often been restored as a pumped-up Brachiosaurus due to its incomplete nature, leading to height estimates of up to 18m tall!!!! MAKING IT THE TALLEST ANIMAL TO EVER EXIST!!!!!! That’s pretty sick in my opinion, though more recent estimates have shaved it down to a still impressive 15m after considering its place on the sauropod evolutionary tree, closer to the titanosaurs than Brachiosaurus is. Sorry I couldn’t help but say my piece about Sauroposeidon while I had the opportunity. It’s still my favourite dinosaur, though the mysterious Bruhathkayosaurus did hold the title for a little while when I was like 8? 9? And I sometimes consider Dreadnoughtus to be joint favourite thanks to a combination of Prehistoric Planet and some talks that I listened to by its discoverer, Kenneth Lacovara.

I'm not going to get anything useful done this evening.

Time to play that Jurassic Park total conversion for Carnivores 2 some more.

I started a new file.

This dracorex rushed me almost as soon as I loaded in.

Then these two were both in the same stretch of beach. Eustreptospondylus is probably one of the best looking dinosaurs in the mod so I won't say no to having that.

JPHL is much more frantic than vanilla Carnivores 2, there are so many more animals around. It's a good thing the mod gives you some weapons with automatic fire or you would be hosed when a pack of, say, six whole velociraptors is on your ass all at once.

(Health in Carnivores 2 is simple: You have 1 HP.)
