I know I've talked about this before, but as somebody with Strong features who has been mocked for it, it really infuriates me when people bully others for changing their strong features through surgery instead of criticizing beauty culture, you know, a big issue as to why people with strong or ethnic features are often bullied or even discriminated against. When you bully people for altering their appearance through surgery, you may just be victim-blaming somebody. Beauty culture is the issue, not somebody using their bodily autonomy as they see fit.

ok i joke about the line a lot, but the "i said all of those things that i shouldn't have said to my mom, which will probably make me King at the age of 18" part actually kinda hurts. he's genuinely worried about his mom and that's shown here too. like, don't get me wrong he absolutely needed to say these things and in the end it actually HELPED her bc it made her come to her senses, but he doesn't know that yet. all he knows is that she's crumbling under the weight of everything to the point where she can't even function properly and her health has taken a nose dive and he probably just made that WORSE. he's worried something will happen to her because of him. it's heartbreaking.

this is a badass daisy johnson appreciation post

skye started out as a hacktivist looking for her parents, without combat clearance, just a normal kid, found her family in shield, survived its destruction, and chose to step up and help when people needed her.

after going through rigorous training she became an agent who could go toe to toe with other shield assets like agent 33. then she got dangerous superpowers forced onto her, but she learned to control them and became one of shields strongest fighters, and later a superhero in her own right. she unraveled her past and her true name and found her parents, only to have them betray and try to murder her and everyone she was fighting to save, and still she fought and won.

daisy took on hydra and won. hive took everything from her, and she lost herself. the world gave her the name quake. but even then, she still helped to stop that monster and came back to kick ass again, this time taking down the watchdogs. a crazy robot imprisoned her friends in a nightmarish simulated reality and turned the entire world against her, and still she rescued them and helped to take it down.

then she got sent to an apocalyptic future she supposedly caused, fought her way through a slave arena, got tortured by her friend, and still saved the world - again. she had to endure the death of her dad, but when a depraved demon from another realm took his form and tried to invade her reality, she and her team still fought back and won. she traveled through time to save the world from a chronicom invasion, and sacrificed her life to stop them, and save the world once more.

she fought terrorists, aliens, nazis, robots, and came out on top. the world and the galaxy know quake as someone you better not mess with. she is the muscle, with compassion and a heart of gold. she places others before herself, and whenever theres a choice, she chooses to help. shes impulsive and snarky and brave, and she always tries to do whats right. she endured so much pain, but never let it stop her or keep her down, or change who she is. She never let herself be made into a victim. daisy johnson chose to devote her life to the protection of those who cant protect themselves, and became a selfless hero who can take on anything and anyone, while ultimately never forgetting what shes fighting for: her family.

Nona the Ninth spoilers!

It’s ungodly late/early but I don’t feel sleep coming on so I wanna ramble about griddlehark and one of my favorite ship tropes, that also involves Nona. Nothing super deep but it’s making my insomniac brain happy

So if you compare Nona and Harrow, they’re almost completely opposite—friendly, innocent, forgiving, trusting, vs. reclusive, jaded, vindictive, prideful. (Though it’s also interesting to think about the things they have in common, like a sense of loyalty and compassion and self-sacrifice but that’s not what this is about). pretty much, there’s one sunshine-y character that’s almost instantly liked by the people she meets and connects with others easily, vs Harrow 1000-Emotional-Walls Nonagesimus.

I’d gamble that if you put both of them at a party and asked all attendees who they preferred after five minutes, Nona would take the W.

But you know who immediately clashes with Nona, and would clearly prefer Harrow in all the ways I listed above—who in fact misses her so desperately that she’s described as “the saddest girl in the whole world”?

like out of all the many, many traumas ive given elspeth my favorite has gotta be the deep roads lol. and specifically the way she never really got OUT of them. yeah so maybe her body did but not HER. shes still down there with ruck and helspith every time she closes her eyes. and during future expeditions when she goes down into the deep roads for real, it doesnt feel like some horrible nightmare it feels like REALITY and its the surface and love and warmth and alistair thats nothing more than a pleasant dream. one shes always going to wake up from. bc even in her happiest moments she's never not aware of the darkspawn digging up towards her just a few miles under her feet. and never not feeling the eyes of the deep roads looking at her, gleefully waiting for her, and knowing its not going anywhere

#i love shale but for elspeth's worldstate i dont recruit her bc im so obsessed w the dynamic of it being elspeth/alistair/oghren/the dog lol #oc: elspeth #tay plays dao #she got SEVERE shell shock being down there in the dead trenches after the realization that came from helspith's poem #why shes never seen any female darkspawn and why there apparently arent as many female wardens either #and like. Understanding that death is the absolute best case scenario for her. #alistair had to 100000% step up as the leader because she was completely out of commission. barely able to breathe let alone fight or lead #going from this unstoppable warrior who NEVER loses her nerve or control on a battlefield #to nearly dying to the broodmother bc she was so fucking terrified. bc all she could see was her own fate mirrored back at her #finally FINALLY understanding what it means to be a grey warden. and then trying to reject that reality with her entire body and soul #she pulls herself out of it enough to get out alive but she never had a moment of like... triumph over the deep roads where she had a burst #of courage and saved the day or whatever. thats not usually how trauma works and so alistair carried them thru that #thru the broodmother and the anvil and branka and back to orzammar just as elspeth was beginning to put herself back together #afterwards the lack of closure to what was one of her ''weakest'' lowest moments rly weighed her down with guilt and shame #and its only a year later during awakening when she finally reconciles with having NO choice but to go back into the deep roads #and being able to kill the mother. THAT helped. that restored some small part of her #gave her the strength to start going back down there when the need arose. resigned to an early death but ready to put up a fight #but ye. still such a fundamentally devastating thing she went thru which altered her entire personality to the point where she starts fully #embracing being a warden (bc how can someone who's seen what shes seen and done what shes done be anything else???) #and INSISTING alistair take the throne despite having always been supportive of his desire not to. even if it means she loses him. #bc its a last ditch effort to save him from the fate she's completely surrendered herself to #sigh. this game man. #i need dadw to Confirm that the grey wardens have found a cure and alistair and hof are safe because jesus christ. my girl NEEDS a win
