Don't get carried away by sympathy, Hades is not innocent, he knew exactly what he was doing there. The pomegranate juice was a joke, but a reminder that he's smart. He was being nice for a purpose.

I get the criticism of the Hunters of Artemis from a narrative perspective—it sucks that it essentially boots interesting female characters out of the story—but it always baffles me when people viciously hate Artemis for *checks notes* doing damage control.

Like. Thalia explicitly goes with Artemis to avoid the prophecy, and I definitely think that’s the reason Artemis tried so hard to get her to join—hell, you can view the hunters trying to recruit Annabeth as a way to get Thalia to join. And Bianca? You can’t convince me that Artemis didn’t guess there was something up there and react accordingly.

If Percy or Nico were even a little bit girl-adjacent you bet your ass she would be all over them to join. No one actually wants to risk the Great Prophecy happening, and Artemis is doing a hell of a lot more to stop it than anyone else.

Me, trying to come up with a plot that accurately reflects the complexity and dynamics that are Annabeth's and her father's relationship with one another, as well as her feelings towards his new family, because while there is love there, how much necessarily? Not enough, to be assumed, because Annabeth ran away when she was seven and, with Luke's description of her in the books at the time he and Thalia found her, she wasn't in the best condition. Reading about how monsters tracking on to her scent and made her a target was the cause for many fights between her and parents, all of which was before she ran away and reads, personally to me, as a pair of adults blaming their young child, but these are also supposedly the same parents who, when discovering that she was in danger, actively wished for her well-being and, in her father's case, put themselves in harms way to go rescue her alongside her more than equipped friends, something, something, I could go on!

Every stall in the royal stables was full. Percy and the rest of the stable hands certainly had their hands full this evening and it looked like none of the guests would be returning home anytime soon. There seemed to be no end to the howling winds or the driving snow.

Percy was about to sit down and finally take his dinner when he saw Cillian standing in the middle of the stables ... dressed from head to toe in some of Lord Malconaire's old clothes. Percy didn't need Cillian to explain to know what he had up his sleeves and there was no way that Percy was going to let him go parading about as a fake lord tonight -- not when all of Astaira had turned up. The hall was likely crawling with hundreds of people who knew the real Lord Ormond and could expose him.

"No! No." Percy pointed a finger at his friend. "No. Absolutely not. You'd better change those clothes, because you are not going anywhere dressed like that."

What Percy didn't know, was that Cillian was not about to leave to attend the ball in this disguise ... he was on his way back.
