#even the scaredy cat nuzzled into my hand

Note
Imagine Dream and you watching a scary movie and you being terrified even though you know it's not real. Dream comforts you by holding you close and snuggling with you.
Tumblr media
Yes!!! This one for all my scaredy cats (me included!)
Why?
Why did you think this was a good idea?
You thought you would step out of your comfort zone and watch a scary movie, one everyone recommended and praised about.
However, your body was on high alert. You clutched a decorative pillow from your couch tight to your chest. It was your only comfort. You wanted to tear your eyes away from the unfolding scene, but you couldn’t. You had to know what happens, despite the fear you were slowly choking on.
When a rather intense scene popped up, you whipped your head away wincing. A whimper almost bubbles out of you.
Dream peered over at you. While you were curled into a ball, clutching a pillow with wide eyes, Dream was sitting comfortably unbothered.
His heart broke at the sight.
Dream spoke softly, “Come here, my dear.”
He didn’t wait for your answer. He immediately wrapped his arms over your shoulders, drawing you towards him. Dropping the pillow, you fell into him and nuzzled your face into his chest.
“I feel so stupid,” you muttered quietly. “It’s just a dumb movie.”
He rubbed your back. “A movie whose purpose is to frighten you, so no it is not stupid.”
You grumbled.
A loud bang followed by a scream made you jump. Your whole body tensed up frozen in fear.
Dream tightened his arms around you, whispering, “It’s okay, I would never let anything harm you.”
You exhaled slowly, trying to calm yourself.
“Here.” Dream waved his hand, shutting off the tv. “Now, nothing should scare you.”
“… thanks.”
He kissed the top of your head. “Shall I put on a different movie? Something more lighthearted?”
“No, this is fine.”
“Perhaps, I can tell you a story instead.”
A smile tugged on your lips. “Please?”
“Of course.”
Taking a deep breath, his hypnotic voice wrapped around you. He trailed his finger along your back drawing shapes as you completely relaxed into him. He instantly weaved a story of adventure and most of all of love.
And in seconds, you were fast asleep.
Dream smiled. No nightmares will bother you. Only sweet dreams for his sweet mortal.

You were comfortably sitting on the floor, surrounded by few colourful pillows and tightly holding the joypad in your hands; the familiar “You Died” once again appeared on the screen and you groaned, annoyed once again by the game. You were so lost in that boss fight you’ve been trying to win for the last hour, that you barely noticed your boyfriend Jisung slowly walking in the living room of your shared apartment and sitting behind you, circling your waist and placing his head on your shoulder while gently pulling you towards his chest; you immediately felt yourself lean against him, as the familiar scent of body soap surrounded you.
«How’s it going?» he asked, noticing how once again you were running low on bullets and started mumbling a series of weak and sarcastic “Oh, come on” to the big screen in front of you. «I hate this game» you sighed dramatically as your character died once again. You relaxed in Jisung’s arms which tightened his hold around your waist with an amused chuckle.
«Didn’t I give you few tips on how to win?» Jisung affectionately kissed your temple. Meanwhile, the game loaded once again to start from your last saved point. «Yes but,» you shifted, feeling safe in his arms «you know I’m not a big fan of exploring everywhere, especially while a group of zombie is chasing after me and I’m low on ammos.» Jisung smiled knowingly, kissing your shoulder. His hands slowly let go of your waist to reach out to hold your hands, which were still firmly gripping the joypad. Caressing your thumbs with his, he briefly signalled you to switch only the positions of both your fingers: now, you had your thumbs over his, so that he’d the one to actually play instead of you – even if you could still take a hold of the game anytime you wanted to. Jisung’s warm hands enveloped yours as he focused on the screen, after giving you a quick kiss on the cheek. «Come on, let’s do this.» he chanted, encouraging the both of you. «Don’t forget to go get all the things I’ve left behind!» slightly turning your head, you nuzzled into his neck, trying to convince him. «You’re a little cute scaredy cat, aren’t you?» Jisung commented, affectionately glancing at you with a smile.

A late WIP Wednesday
A little more of that Hellcheer/OneCheer Thriller:
The cat is rigid, hissing at him as she bats at his pathetic, grabby hand that’s turning red and purple from the strain.
She’s scared out of her little mind.
“It’s okay, sweetheart, I’m not going to hurt—AH FUCKIN’ HELL!” He yelps when one of her claws snags the thin layer of skin between his thumb and pointer finger, curling into him enough to draw blood.
“I’m just trying to save you! Let me save you!” he whines miserably, pressing his shoulder against the window pane harder and shifting his body weight so that he can stretch out further. Almost there… She flattens against the panels, snarling in warning, but thankfully she doesn’t edge further away. With a quick swing, he’s able to grab hold of the fur from her scruff, and tug her back into the window.
She growls, whipping and swinging angrily as Eddie stumbles back to keep his footing and his hold on the frightened and angry little ball of fur. Last thing he needs is the neighbors’ cat running wild in the house. “Hey, hey, easy, it’s okay now damn it!”
He winces in pain when she scratches his palm just before climbing up his arm and curling up into his elbow, doing that scaredy cat thing they do where they just ball up tight. He can feel her frantic little heart beating. “Hey, it’s okay now, I’m sorry I had to get a little rough with you.” He smoothes over her white coat that’s standing on edge with his palm, petting her carefully until she starts to slowly calm down. After about ten minutes of schmoozing her on his bed, she starts to unfurl and even begins purring when he scratches under her chin, rubbing up against him. She’s pretty cute actually. “Yeah, you’re alright… c’mon I think your poor mama’s been worried sick about you.”
Jeff is going to kill him for this. They all are. But what is he supposed to do?
Not return the cat.
He cradles the nervous little thing as she rides along his forearm, carefully walking up to the front gate, making sure her husband’s car is gone before giving it a push with his hip. It’s locked, which doesn’t really surprise him, but he can see the little recluse in the window behind the gossamer curtain, staring at him.
He waves awkwardly, holding up the cat for her to see. Her eyes widen and she can’t seem to stop herself this time, running to the door and unlocking the heavy deadbolt.
Eddie’s heart rate picks up when she sprints (sprints) down the walkway toward him, tears shining in her eyes. He feels a sudden rush of heat climbing up his neck. “Hey, sorry… but uh I’m pretty sure this little lady belongs to you.”
He smiles as he carefully hands the cat off to her, their fingers touching during the exchange. So she is real, not a ghost or a figment of his imagination. Her fingers are soft and warm.
“W-where did you find her?” she asks in astonishment, hugging the purring creature to her heart, tears of joy and relief running down her face. He remembers how frantic she had been in the yard yesterday, searching and calling for her.
“She was stuck on the back of my roof, I heard her crying and was able to get her down.”
She looks up at him, noticing the long scratches stretching up his arm and hand.
“She had some opinions about it.” He adds, his smile becoming a slow, playful grin.
He sees a little smile hiding in the corner of her lip as the cat nuzzles up against her cheek, so happy to back with her mama. Christina closes her eyes with a pitiful little sniff. “I was so worried something happened to her… I don’t know how to thank you.”
“Oh, well…” He rubs the back of his very hot neck. “I’m just glad she’s okay… she seems to mean a lot to you.”
Chrissy nods sorrowfully, wiping away at her tears. “She’s… she’s my only friend sometimes.” she confesses quietly.
Oh his black, callous heart, it’s being ripped apart by the seams. He raises a careful hand, brushing the cat’s ear. “What’s her name?”
She’s quiet a moment before she answers. “Amalthea.”
He blinks, smiling bemusedly. “Wow. That’s uh—that’s quite a mouthful.”
Sounds like a Tolkien name or something.
She ducks bashfully, and that smile escapes her this time. “…It’s from a book I used to read when I was little.”

DAISIES || JHS
Tumblr media
Genre: Established relationship, fluff
Pairing: Jung Hoseok × Fem. OC
Words: 1.1k
Summary: Hoseok and OC are on a mini countryside vacation and he's scared of bugs.
A/n: Spring is here so I HAD to write something related to it.
Tumblr media
“Shh…. It was just a bug-” Haneul starts, to comfort her very frightened boyfriend who is currently clinging to her body like a giant koala, but is cut off when a high pitched voice speaks up.
“It landed on my neck!” He lets out, burying his head into the crook of his girlfriend's neck for some comfort. “And it was as big as my palm.” He adds.
Haneul laughs softly and wraps her arms around his slightly shivering body. He's just too adorable. “Hobi…. It was literally just a dragonfly. They are harmless, love.” Her voice is gentle as she tries to get him to calm down, knowing very well how scary bugs are for him.
The male was quick to shake his head. His body curling up against hers even more. “I don't care if it was a dragonfly or an elephant fly. It was scary!”
She sighs. Maybe bringing him to the countryside for a chill weekend outing wasn't a great idea. He had quite a scare because of a grasshopper last night too when they arrived here. He's always been a scaredy cat, always startled easily by one thing or the other.
This little trip was planned to give both of them some time to unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of the fast city life both of them lead. Go on picnics, run around in the fields of daisies, pick strawberries and just enjoy each other's company. And what season would have been better than spring itself? But the trip was turning out to be a little stressful for Hoseok because both of them skipped the part where they'd have to deal with the insects and bugs that also reside in these open fields and farms.
“You're such a baby sometimes.” She comments in a playful manner, giggling a little but lets him snuggle close to her on the couch.
It was Hoseok himself who had gone out in the garden of the rented cottage house to pick some daisies for his girlfriend, wanting to make her feel special but instead he himself was the one seeking comfort now because he had encountered a huge and unpleasant bug outside which was as big as his palm.
Well, that was definitely an exaggeration.
She wasn't really bothered by it though. He can go around being as dramatic as he wants and she'd still be ready to calm him down and soothe his scared self.
The male raises his head from her neck and squints his eyes at her. “I'm going to tell you the same thing when you ask for chocolates next time.” A small pout forms on his lips as he looks at her with an unimpressed expression at her teasing remark.
Oh, and he can be petty sometimes!
“Are you really going there now?” Haneul looks down at him, her lips spread wide in an amused grin.
He nods with his eyes closed which makes her let out a small chuckle at his boyish attitude. She props her head up which was previously resting on the armrest of the couch and leans in, softly pecking Hoseok's lips before returning back to her spot. “Alright, I'm sorry. How can I make such a huge mistake!” She states, her eyes shining bright with mischief.
It wasn't really an apology made because she felt bad for calling him a baby but rather because she wanted to be on the safe side, not wanting to risk losing her chances of getting her beloved chocolates from him.
Her playfulness makes him groan and nuzzle his head in the crook of her neck once again, their bodies tangled together as they lay on the couch. “That does not sound very genuine but I'll take it.” His voice is filled with a certain tenderness as his fingers trail up her arm, fingers gently tracing her soft skin.
Haneul smiles and lovingly caresses his back. The both of them stay like that for a while, a blanket of comfortable silence surrounding them. Her hand plays with his soft hair while he lays his arm over her torso, being cozy together.
“I don't know if it's going to help you with your fear but according to a legend, a dragonfly around you is actually an angel from heaven visiting you.” She speaks up, wanting to put him at ease. She herself is pretty skeptical about the legend but if it helps him enjoy this little outing, she won't mind doing an extensive research on different mythologies, legends, fairy tales, folklores and what not.
“Really?”
She smiles at the curious glint in his eyes. She's so in love with this guy, it's unbelievable. He's got this innocent vibe to him that it makes her want to wrap him up in a bubble wrap.
“Mhmm..” She nods her head to which Hoseok's mouth forms a little ‘o’ shape. “So what do you say? Go out and pick strawberries?”
He blinks in contemplation and glances out through the window. It's still noon. The sun is shining bright but not in a way that makes the skin burn. It's the gentle kind of warmth, the type that fills one with joy.
A small yawn escapes her mouth and she stretches her limbs a little, breaking the comfortable embrace they were laying in and gets off the couch. She was feeling lazy and it wasn't what she wanted, not when she's out on this mini trip with her boyfriend. She was here to explore and have fun, not laze around. With a small grin, she takes his hoodie from the armrest of the couch and quickly puts it over her tank top.
Hoseok is quick to rise up on his feet. “Hey, that's mine!” He exclaims, amused by his girlfriend's never-ending mischievous antics. Before he could protest against her act of stealing his hoodie, she was already at the door with her playful giggles filling up the entire place which only added up to the lovely environment inside the cottage.
“Okay at least wait for me!” He calls for her when she just runs out into the field of daisies adjacent to the place they were staying at.
Haneul laughs, a mischievous tone lying under that sweet, bubbly sound. “Catch me!” She replies back which makes him shake his head, a silly grin on his face.
Only if she knew that he'd catch her no matter how far she goes, follow her everywhere no matter where she goes. Even if it's the afterlife. Just so he could see that beautiful face of hers and stay with her forever.

I just KNOW Eddie would be the kind of dummy dumb dumb to watch scary movies with his little and not realizing they’re small and then feeling horrible when they start crying LOL.
or maybe, he purposely watches super scary stuff so that his little is forced to get all small because he knows they only regress under stress and fear, that little manipulative genius.
Like you’d be sitting on the couch sitting fairly close to each other, he’s watching intently while smacking popcorn and laughing at the idiots getting stuck and killed, yelling at them. You are smiling and laughing at some parts but as they get more intense and stressful you start sinking more and more into yourself and the couch, curling into the blanket more and more as rhe seconds go by.
With one more blood curdling scream you jolt and Eddie glances at you, laughing. “What, are you scared you big baby?” He says teasingly, not realizing what he said.
“M’ not a baby” you mumble, secretly hiding behind the blanket.
He snorts “whatever you say scaredy cat.”
you feel tears prick into your eyes. He’s supposed to protect his baby… not make fun! Does he not realize what’s going on?
communication is key.
you stay silent, going almost to the nonverbal side of small-ness. Just staring blankly at the TV.
that was until the next big jump scare happened and you immediately find yourself frantically climbing into Eddie’s lap, nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck and silently crying.
Little ones shouldn’t watch this kind of stuff, you thought, you are almost shivering in fear!
He rubs your back and laughs for a second, until he feels the tears on his neck, then he hurried to stop the movie and lovingly push you off of him so he can wipe the hair from your face and look at you.
“Oh no sweet pea, what’s wrong my baby?”
You nervously play with your hands and bite in your thumb nail.
“I- I gots scared… Teds… you right, m’ just a big baby.” You whine, griping to his shirt and letting more tears fall slowly, embarrassed for going little like this.
He softly clicks his tongue like he’s going to speak, but he wipes your tears with his thumb and then kissed the apple of your cheeks where the tears had fallen. Then all over your face trying to get a giggle out of you, but no such luck. you were too scared.
“My poor little baby. Teddy is sorry he didn’t realize that you were feeling like that. Next time just tug on my shirt and get my attention okay? I never ever want my sweet one to feel scared when I’m around, you got that?”
You silently nod.
“Use your words, babydoll.”
“Yes sir.”
He gleams at you and pulls you back in close and you nuzzle in as close as possible. He rubs your back and rocks you back and forth softly on the couch until you drift off into a sleep, rubbing the fabric of his shirt between your fingers even while asleep.
You may be scared sometimes in life but Eddie will do anything he can to make it better, especially when it’s his fault.

hi! i love ur writing ☆ can i request ena shinonome cuddling hcs?<3 have a good day
{Cuddles with Ena!}
Heehee, thanks for the compliment! Also, first Ena ask WHOO! She's a character i honestly didn't expect to like, but she has grown on me pretty quickly, so i hope I can do her justice! Caw.
Tumblr media
As much as it ashamed her to admit it, Ena loves peaceful and gentle physical affection! It helps her wind down from the bad thoughts inside her head, be them directed towards others or herself. She can be pretty hard on herself, so she needs someone else to be soft on her!
It started slowly at first. Handholding, then heads leaning on shoulders, then hugs... You had to make sure that every step was small, and not in an aggressive or forward direction. This was her comfort activity, after all! You'd hate yourself if she were to grow uncomfortable from what was supposed to brighten up her day...
Cuddling was one of the steps that took more than a few weeks into the relationship, but it was one that Ena secretly dreamt about... Her dreams weren't exactly peaceful or calm; quite the opposite, actually! Her creative artist brain, combined with her insecurities and cravings for acceptance leads her resting brain to come up with wild visions! Of course, she never cared much about them, but they were still annoying from time to time.
And don't get her started when her brain was at it's worst, and the nightmares started seeping in... Combining the last two descriptives, turning her fully against herself, not to mention that she's a scaredy cat, and... Well, the result was obvious. Noise complaints from her brother!
The point is, even in her sleep, Ena's thoughts played dirty, and she needed something, or someone, to help her along with that. That was how her desire for cuddling began, and how you two turned it into a common occurrence!
She tends to cling to you almost possessively at times, yet she makes sure to never hold you or embrace you too hard... You suspect that her insecurities are a part of her constant need for affection, but you could never judge her for it. Instead, you let her hug and wrap around in whichever way she wanted, at whatever time! Unless you know that it's gonna ruin her night sleep, of course.
Sometimes, she gently nuzzles her head against you chest! At first it confused you, but as time passed, your knowledge of her nonverbal communications got better! She tended to do that whenever she wanted even more affection, so you would leave your hand on her head, patting it or simply caressing it until her eyes looked sleepy. It was a trick to get her to sleep that didn't seem to fail!
The bad thing is, that with these cuddle sessions, her waking up issues seem to be getting a bit worse... After all, she had your full attention and comfort in this one bed without needing to force herself to do something big in return! How could she just leave like that?? Sure, she's gonna feel it again at night, but...
"Mgh... Why, why?? Can't we just stay for a few more minutes? I lo-... I really enjoy this feeling, this warmth; it's like nothing I've ever felt in my life! So just let me have this!... Ugh, I don't even have to go to school right now, why do I need to leave this bed?? Please... Let's just stay instead... I know you enjoy it as much as me, so this is a win win, right?? Uhuh, I know you do!"
Sometimes, her words work, and you both nuzzle in for usually one more hour. (Or until Akito realizes what's up.) However, you've been getting better at deflecting the temptations and forcing her to do so as well! You feel bad for pulling her out of her heavenly peaceful moments, but you have to make sure that she lives out the rest of the day as well! Besides, it's not like you'll stop doing them anytime soon...
Heehee, I love Ena... I love 25-ji! They're all my favorites, honestly! ... I-I may have one above the rest though... Caw.

🎃Day 5= Cute Costumes (Denki Kaminari)🎃
Tumblr media
DAY 5=Cute Costumes (Denki Kaminari)
Gender neutral Reader (they/them)
Warnings: Jumpscare and the trio being scaredy cats, one or two swear words. Mina, Denki and Sero shenanigans.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Denki was so used to dressing up scary for Halloween, so imagine his surprise when he found out every other costume store sold out and it was only the cutesy ones left. He howled in despair when he came back from shopping, buying more candy now that he didn't have a costume.
He sighed in anguish and sank into the couch, you came up behind him and put your arms around his neck.
"Why is your cute face so droopy...you look like the scream mask!"
"There are no more scary costumes! They're all sold out! Only ones left are the cute...cringey ones!"
You nodded thoughtfully, "Honestly...your face right now looks pretty horrifying so you don't even need a costume!" You cooed at his adorable pout.
He scoffed, pulling your arm so you could jump onto the couch next to him. Settling in his lap he nuzzled his face into your neck and murmured, "Just really wanted to have a sick ass costume!"
You pat his head while he complained into your neck.
"Why don't you just make a costume instead of wasting money on one you're not going to wear again?" You suggested.
He perked up.
Denki always bought costumes, never indulging in the garden task such as making your own costume from scratch. He did however, applaud the amazing effort that people who made their costumes put in, those people ended up winning the costume competitions all the time.
"If I do...will you help me?"
"Duh...I already have materials for my costume!" You scoff.
Denki kissed your check, "This is why I love you! Let's go!"
As you and Denki charged up to your room, holding hands and excusing yourself when bumping into the others, you discussed exactly what kind of costume he was going for so you could help him.
~~~~~~~~~~~
An hour later, Denki ended up with a near perfect scarecrow costume. Browns, greys and mossy greens stitched together like patched up overalls, red painted into them mimicking blood.
"Woah! This is amazing!"
You pat yourself on the shoulder smugly, giving him a toothy grin, "Your praise makes my cold heart melt!"
"I'm gonna scare the kids so bad they'll poop!" He chuckled mischievously.
"Don't scare them too much! They might actually just call their parents and have you detained in jail for harassments. I saw that happen to a kid!" You snorted at his suddenly terrified expression.
He then looked back up to see you still busy with your own costume.
"Your one's not done yet?"
"I'll join you soon! I'll be done in half an hour!” You grinned back and he nodded.
He went to fit on his costume, leaving you to finish your own in a giddy buzz. Denki joined up with Sero and Mina with an extra large bag for candy since he planned on sharing with you the ones you would miss.
Mina was dressed as a retro 1950's singer with neon and bright colors all over her, plus roller skates. Sero just wrapped himself up with tape (very original).
Mina pouted when just he turned up, "Where is (Name)?! I wanted to see their costume!"
Sero patted her back, "Knowing (Name)...they probably want to gave such a cool costume they'd stay behind to make it extra badass!"
Mina and Denki both sighed collectively.
"Well! No point in wasting the night moping, (Name)'ll catch up right?"
"Yeah totally!"
A half an hour later, the trio were in a sugar crazed buzz, going from door to door getting candy but most of the time getting shut down by reluctant people.
Denki stopped along the road and counted the candy in his bag...it was only 1/3 full and the night was still young.
"Maaaaaan! That last could have been more generous with the candy corns!" Mina complained as she looked at the pathetic amount of candy in her bag.
"Those kids were nice to give up peanutbutter cups!" Sero commented.
The three were so into their candy that neither noticed the ominous figure sauntering their way.
Denki was just about to reach for his bag after setting it down before a clammy hand closed around his.
"WHAT THE HECK?!" He started screaming as the hands of the horrible looking undead ghoul thingy pawed at him, Mina started screaming and pushed Sero to save Denki.
"WHAT THE HECK MINA?!"
"GO SAVE YOUR BEST FRIEND!"
"HE'S NOT MY BEST FRIEND!"
As they had their screaming match, Denki pushed the Ghoul away and pushed both of them to start running.
It was like a scene from Scooby Doo where the gang ran away from the monster trying to catch them.
"RUN YOU SLOW DUMBASSES!"
"DON'T YELL AT ME BECAUSE YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE!"
"SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU!"
Nobody could tell who was screaming what, only that it was bloody murder.
They had run into an alley (big mistake) in a moment of indecision and were now back up against the wall.
The ghoul thing suddenly cackled.
"Nowhere left to run...little rascals!"
Denki cuddled his two best friends as he mumbled, "Just tell (Name) I love them if you guys survive okay?"
But the impact never came as he shut his eyes, only a cruel laugh that sounded more and more normal than the distorted maniacal chuckle.
The ghoul stepped back and pulled off the ugly mask, "Trick or Treat, Suckers!" Only to reveal you with a very smug grin.
Denki hugged you as Mina and Sero collasped from fright, muttering about how they hate you and how good of a scare that was.
"You scared me half to death babe!" Denki laughed hysterically into your costume.
"I had to do something big with this costume...you three cry babies just happened to be my victims!"
"I hate you!" Denki cried.
"That was an awesome scare though!" Mina cheered and hugged you.
"I almost wet my pants!" Sero shuddered.
You bowed to the three of them and picked your mask up again, "Alright scaredy cats...let's go get some candy!"
The three cheered and you four went out on the prowl, hunting for candy like crazed animals.

content & warnings: female reader, black-coded reader, modern au (00s), alcohol consumption (reader is a clingy drunk)
author’s note: here it is, again sorry for the late update and it being a little all over the place 😞
word count: 3.3k
𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑
As elegant as Nico Robin was, she liked to spend her time in dive bars. A woman with countless degrees in journalism, who spent her vacations doing philanthropy.
She was extremely dedicated to visiting countries that were torn apart by conflict and had their education and history almost destroyed. Her travels often included searching for gaps in history.
She stood at a grand height and wherever she went, people were automatically drawn and enthralled by her aura. Even her posture and movements had people falling in line to greet her.
You'd never willingly go to a dive bar however Robin was always like a cool older sister you would want to emulate. You and Vivi were the scaredy cats but Robin and Nami would rush head first to anything, not caring at all.
It was admirable.
Robin was being crowded by dozens of men while she stood by the pool table, whilst you and Vivi were sitting at the bar.
Nami returned from the jukebox, a scowl across her face. You figured it was her severe distaste of "dad rock" as she dubbed it.
"What's with you?" A voice called out, dragging you out of your train of thought.
Nami was in a black halter dress that fit her figure perfectly.
"What do you mean?" You questioned.
She flicked your forehead.
"Ow, Nami!" You hissed as you rubbed your head. "The fuck was that for?!"
"I get Freckles is cute and all, but that doesn't mean you ditch us for days on end." She barked, her hands on her hips.
"You are so damn clingy! I saw you at work today, you act like the world ended if I don't take a lunch break with you."
"Clearly I value this friendship more than you."
"Nami, I'm sorry..." You tittered as you draped your arms around her. "How can I make it up to you?" You said as you nuzzled the side of her face with your cheek.
"Too late." She said biting her lip to stifle her giggles but it was failing miserably as she turned her head away.
"No use Nami, she's been so weird lately." Vivi snickered.
"Whatever. Come on Vi." Nami said as she yanked Vivi off the bar stool.
"Hey! What?!-"
"I wanna dance with you!" Nami grinned.
"Nobody else is dancing...!" Vivi replied with an uneasy chuckle as she eyed the grizzled patrons.
"So?!"
And with that, the two headed off, leaving you to take the chance of the temptation of being sat at the bar with money to blow.
"One too many...one too many! WHEEEEEE-"
You fell right on your ass on the hard floor of the bar. It didn't help how sticky the floor was.
"Get ahold of yourself.." Robin scoffed as she yanked you by your arm to your feet. "I think that's it for the night, mhm?"
"Suppose so..." You mumbled as you laid your arms across the bar, and fixated on the liquid in the glass.
There was a foreign feeling blooming within your chest.
"I miss him." You said.
"Huh?" Nami said, checking her purse.
"I miss Ace.."
"Here she goes.." Vivi said as laughter overtook her body. "You do have feelings for the lab rat."
Your mind began to picture him. The last time you saw him.
"Can I see you tomorrow...?"
His hair is always tousled but he just manages to be so effortlessly sexy.
Pretty girl. My girl. Doll-face. Darling in that accent of his.
"Don't you know I'm crazy about you?" With his breath tickling the shell of your ear.
Why were your thighs pressing together at a mere sentence?
The alcohol in your system was brewing up a storm of your attraction and fondness for Ace.
Ace the lab rat. Ace the experiment. Ace the doorway from vacuous articles about panty liners to real, hard-hitting journalism.
Ace the smooth-talking advertising agent, whose job is to use that silver tongue to secure any and all kinds of deals.
Why did you think you were so special?
"Y/N..." Vivi called out as she saw your thumb hit the buttons of your cellphone. "What are you doing?" She asked with an uneasy chuckle.
"I wanna see him." You murmured.
"Huh?!"
"Let her." Robin said wryly as she reached out to stop Vivi from getting closer to snatch the phone away from you. "It's a canon event."
Tumblr media
"Ace!" A voice called out. "I'm bloody freezing my crown jewels off here!"
"Just a second!" He responded as he pulled out the vibrating cell phone from his pocket. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion when he saw your name flash across the screen.
He remembered you telling him something about a girl's night with your colleagues but he figured that was just a conversational thing.
"Y/N? What's up?"
"Oh...I can hear you through the phone..." You hiccuped.
"Doll-face, I'm hoping I'm the first person you thought to drunk call." Ace chuckled as he ruffled his raven locks, struggling to stop the smile that was tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Who else, huh? Missin' you."
“You’re cute.” He snorted. He was still slightly irritated at your peculiar whirlwind of behaviors but it’d be a lie to say he hadn’t developed a soft spot for you.
"Look..." He let out a sigh as he pinched his nose bridge. "Where are you? Are you with your gal pals at least?"
"Course I am...I'm with Red...n Nepo Baby Vivi and Morticia Addams.." You giggled.
There was a beat of silence before Ace felt an odd pang in his chest. He missed you too, weirdly enough.
"Do you want me to pick you up, Y/N?" He asked softly, his voice nothing like you've heard it before.
You felt your stomach curdle slightly.
"I...wanna see you."
"So I'll take that as a yes. Tell Nepo Baby to text me the address of the bar, she seems to hate me the least." He chuckled.
"They don't hate you, Ace." You shot.
"Those icy glares when I come around your office say otherwise." He muttered under his breath.
"What?"
"I'll be there soon. Just hold on."
"OI!"
"Hold your damn horses, Sabo! I'm coming!" Ace barked back.
"By the time you arrived, I'd have been sleeping with the fishes!" Sabo chuckled as he bobbed in the water.
"You're a real character." Ace snorted as he stood on the pier. "But we gotta go. My girl needs me."
"You two are practically glued at the hip by now." Sabo responded as he used his upper body strength to heave himself out of the water. “Never thought I’d see the day you’d be playing house with some bird.”
“Lay off..!” Ace chucked as he leaned against the tree as Sabo began to dry up and dress himself. “It’s just something for the job.”
But at this point, he wasn’t sure he believed that anymore.
“Does she know that?” Sabo asked cautiously.
“Pfft, no.”
He may have laughed off the question but he suddenly felt a sickly feeling overtake him as he drove to pick you up.
“Ace, you alright there?” Sabo questioned. “Ever since I asked you that you look like you’re gonna puke your guts out.” He said with an uneasy laugh as he saw the way Ace’s face had paled.
“Sabo, I’m gonna ask you something and please don’t hold back on me.”
“Shoot.”
“Hypothetically speaking, if I dated a girl as a bet…would that make me a grade-A jackass?”
“I think you know the answer to that already, my friend.” Sabo responded. “Is that why you’re hurtling down the highway like we’re on the run?”
“What?! No!” Ace shot quickly.
“If you say so.”
Ace slowly parked outside the bar.
“Sabo, just don’t say anything. Alright?” He said meekly as he began to undo his seatbelt.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.”
“Good. That’s good.” He said with a sigh of relief.
Ace took a few deep breaths to recompose himself. No wonder he’d been feeling off.
How the hell was he gonna break it to you that the entirety of this was some sort of bargain for him?
Unbeknownst to Ace (who thought your antics were just part of some weird eccentricity) you were playing the game too. You weren’t exactly an angel either.
“Look, your boyfriend is here.” Robin smiled as the three women were stood around you, trying to protect you from busting your ass again.
“Acey Wacey.” Nami grinned.
“Freckles to the rescue!” Vivi sang.
“Hello to you lovely ladies too.” Ace said. “Alright, doll-face…up you get!” He slung your arm around him, your head hung lower.
Your alcohol tolerance was mortifying.
“Take her home or else!” Nami yelled, to which Ace responded with a thumbs up.
“Now who the hell said you could get behind the wheel?” Ace asked in an unimpressed tone as he saw Sabo drumming his fingers along the steering wheel.
“Says me. Sure you’re gonna have to play nurse back there.” He chortled.
“Fine.”
“Ace…” You murmured as he placed you in the backseat and did your seatbelt.
“Yeah?”
“I wanna go over to yours..” You said.
“What makes you say that?” He questioned a little bewildered.
You shrugged.
“Just wanna.”
“Red said to drop you home or she’ll have my behind.” Ace chuckled as he sat beside you.
“She doesn’t need to know.” You said with a mischievous laugh.
“She makes a convincing argument, Ace.” Sabo added.
“Keep your eyes on the road, Cabbie.” Ace shot, causing Sabo to stick his tongue out at Ace in response.
You hadn’t even bothered to ask who the blond man with Ace was. But he was handsome all the same, and it was hard to miss the accent.
The two of them helped you keep upright in the elevator since you were struggling.
“Thanks you two..” You murmured.
“Always a pleasure to help out a pretty girl.” Sabo grinned.
“Watch it.” Ace warned as he set you on the couch and began to take off your heels for you, your legs across his lap.
“Stop it, Ace…” You giggled, revelling in the attention.
“Yeah, Ace. Last thing I’d do is try and steal your missus.” Sabo grinned.
Soon enough, Ace carried you off to bed.
“I’m gonna sleep on the couch.” He said after he laid you down, tucked you within the quilts and smoothed your hair back.
“No…sleep with me.”
He shook his head with a smile.
“It’s fine, I’ll see you tomorrow morning. Okay?”
“But I don’t want you to go…” You mumbled as you held his hand.
“You know you got me wrapped around your finger, don’t you?” He chuckled. “But no.”
“Ace, please don’t go..” Your voice cracked.
“Alright, alright. Just til you fall asleep.” He sighed as he nestled beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist, his chest flush against your back.
“I like you…the most.” You said, voice low.
“I like you the most too..” He chuckled as he kissed the top of your head before you drifted off to sleep. He then got back out of the bed, shutting the door and crashed on the couch where Sabo was snoring on the air mattress.
Tumblr media
"This'll help your hangover." Ace said.
"How'd you know?"
"My mom always had hangovers so."
Your eyes widened.
"Oh, no, no! Sweets, it's fine I promise. Nothing traumatic. Our family partied a lot. It wasn't like a problem or anything."
"...If you say so." You murmured as you began to sip from the mug.
"Y/N don't give me that look..." Ace said with a nervous chuckle as he turned your chin to meet his eyes.
"Really. They're travellers so...it was always fun."
"I didn't say nothin'!"
"It's not a sob story. I'm from an unorthodox family..." He chuckled as he rubbed the nape of his neck. "Every weekend was a celebration for God knows what. Got to the point where they were looking for booze and balloons over a certificate of participation for Sabo and Luffy's after-school crap."
"That does seems fun."
"Ah, it does. Looking back. But I was too much of a punk to enjoy it. Too busy brooding or running off with my brothers. We'd come back from the forests at dawn and she'd be throwing a sandal at us for making the floorboards creak."
“Already divulging into the family stories, huh?” Sabo cut in.
“Put a shirt on, Romeo.” Ace muttered.
“Ironic coming from you.” Sabo shot back as he slumped into the dining chair.
“I believe we haven’t been introduced properly.” He grinned.
“Oh, um. Nice to meet you..?”
“Sabo. We're brothers." Ace grinned.
"I see the resemblance with Luffy...but not Sabo." You replied. "The drastic accents aren't helping either."
"Foster siblings." Sabo corrected. “So this is the journalist girl that’s been driving you up the wall.”
You turned to Ace, unimpressed as Ace began to sweat.
“Now, now! I said other nice things!” He called out.
“Tell me more, Sabo.”
Tumblr media
Ace dropped you home later that Saturday, but oddly enough when you called to notify Nami she had been ghost all weekend.
Monday morning, with a flash she swooped in on you.
“What the-”
"Nami!" You hissed when you felt her hand suddenly clamp around your wrist and yank you away from the others.
You made such a noise, some people in the office turned to see what the commotion was all about but it was too late, you were both out of eyesight and in the janitor's closet.
"What the hell was-" You immediately froze when you saw how visibly distressed she was.
"Red, what's the matter...?" You said, softly as you framed the sides of her face with your hands.
Knowing Nami since college, she tended to only have emotional outbursts after things bottled up for long periods if they were serious. She looked up at you, her lip quivering.
"I think I ruined things between me and Vivi...!"
"I'm sure you haven't..." You murmured as you pulled her in for a hug, and she buried her face into your shoulder as her body wracked with heavy sobs.
You rubbed her back soothingly, just allowing her to let it out.
The air was thick with the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling hamburgers and sputtering hot dogs as you and Nami sat on the benches outside the food stands.
"So lemme get this straight-" You began as the two of you snuck out of the office, looking for any greasy street food. "Ace takes me, you and the girls stay a bit longer but take a cab home...and you decide to let Vivi crash at your place."
"Uh-huh." She said, cramming the food in her mouth.
"You're both buzzed, Vivi being Vivi starts getting emotional and crying over that loser, you and your soft spot for her comforts her and you let it slip out that you've been pining after her for months?"
She nods, her cheeks full.
"And...everything is a fucking blur, Y/N!" Nami ranted, food spraying across the table. "I just know we kissed and it was getting a bit heated and she ran off, locking herself in the room. She must think I'm some pushy creep."
"Nami, stop letting your mind go there. You're not a creep and you're not pushy."
"But what the hell am I supposed to think...?" She groaned. "She can't even face me anymore."
"You're just gonna have to give her some time. It's a big adjustment going from best friends to...you know." You said soothingly. "You'll get through it."
You slipped her hand in yours, and gently ran your thumb over the hollows of her knuckles.
“Where have the both of you been?” Charlotte questioned as the two of you failed at sneaking back into the office.
“Nami wasn’t feeling well-” You began.
“Save it. Y/N, you failed to give me an update on your article. Nami, you too. I don’t know what made either of you think that I tolerate slacking off in this office but you are sorely mistaken.” Charlotte hissed.
Nami simply blinked, unscathed by her words but you felt your fists ball up.
“I think I’m going to scrap the article.” You shot.
“What?!” Charlotte squawked.
“Yeah! I…don’t think it’s working out between me and this guy. How can I shorten it, huh?”
“You absolutely will NOT scrap that article, do you understand Y/N? You scrap that article, and I will fire you and blacklist you from every single printing press, magazine, newspaper, tv station, RADIO CHANNEL. People will see your name on job applications and scurry away, burning your resume like it has the plague. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!” She screeched, so loud the entire office paused to stare at the three of you.
You felt all your senses set on fire with sheer humiliation.
And you were paralysed with fear. Because Charlotte had absolute power over the media circuit throughout the city. Hell, even the country.
“Understood?” She repeated.
“Yes, Charlotte.” You said shakily, holding yourself back from bursting into tears like a child.
She gave you and Nami one last flash of warning with her eyes and stormed off, slamming her office door shut.
“Well, that went just peachy.” Nami said stiffly. Your vision began to blur as you stared at the carpet.
Tumblr media
New day, new mindset.
As you walked through the corridors of Newgate Advertising, determined as ever to drive Ace away.
You did have some suspicions about Isuka aiding you, she even persuaded the receptionist to let you in the building despite not having an appointment, saying you were with her, and guided you to the office Ace, Marco and Izou worked in.
But you shrugged it off. You remembered her and her co-worker visiting Sleek's office and Charlotte telling them about your article.
Did she realise Ace was the guy you were trying to lose in ten days?
"Such a cute dog..." She said, her syrupy tone unable to disguise her disgust at the panting Chinese crested dog you brought.
“I know! Well, Ace is definitely a dog kinda guy.” You grinned. “Thank you again!”
You waved her off as you headed towards Ace’s office.
“Hi, baby….!” You gushed, amping up the crazy smile as you saw Ace and Marco standing around a desk, and Izou sipping coffee.
“Y/N…?” Ace questioned, eyes widening but quickly swooping you in his arms. “Doll-face, what brings you here?”
“Well, you know how much I can’t bear to be apart from you my love.” You grinned. “Say hello to our baby!”
“HUH?!” Marco cried out as Izou did a spit take.
“This is Rex..! Just like what you wanted to name your-”
Ace quickly garbled random gibberish over you to stop the other two from hearing what you were about to say.
“Uh, baby. We can’t have pets in the office. And…” Ace paused to take a look at the dog. “Is he okay?”
“Well, Rex actually has all his pet insurance paid for. But the poor baby has a slight incontinence problem-”
“OH, OH, COME ON!” Marco cried out in horror, clutching his head as the dog began to pee on the paperwork on the desk
“But I’m sure with Mommy and Daddy’s love, we’ll nurse our baby together, mhm?” You continued as you threw your arms around Ace, nuzzling the side of his face.
Ace was frozen as his mind struggled to comprehend the current events that were unfolding in front of him.
“Ace…?” You called out, shaking him to get him to look at you.
“This can’t be real. This can’t be real, I bumped my head, didn’t I?” He murmured to himself as he stared at Marco suffering with Rex and Izou grabbing gloves and a mask from the janitor’s closet to salvage the piss-soaked sheets.
“It’s real, my love! Believe it!” You grinned as you peppered his cheeks with kisses.

stray kids reaction to you being scared of heights
Tumblr media
gn.reader, established relationship // w: fear of heights //wc: 1k+
.....
꒰ chan ꒱
sweetest boy ever, very understanding of your fear
finds out by accident when you're sightseeing somewhere that's above ground
is all worried: "baby, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
you and the boys were on top of a monument. you took a lift to get up and you were all jittery when it was going upwards, avoiding looking out the glass windows
"is that why you were acting all weird during the ride?"
once you nod, he immediately softens up, wrapping his hands around your waist and pulling you into his chest. you nuzzle your head in the crook of his neck and he smiles, patting your head.
"don't worry, baby. i gotchu."
꒰ minho ꒱
if he wasn't just as scared as you were, he would definitely tease you
but he's the resident scaredy-cat when it comes to fearing heights so he understands exactly how you feel
however, he will try to hide it and pretend that he isn't scared for the sake of comforting you
"see? it's not that bad, the railing is tall enough," he says shakily, bending over the rails to showcase that there's nothing to be scared of.
"minho, sweetie. you're trembling," you whisper softly, pulling him away from the edge with an amused smile.
"oh thank god! i thought I was gonna die," he admits, chuckling as you nuzzle into his cheek
꒰ changbin ꒱
oh boy, he would definitely try to put his big muscles to good use.
when you first stepped out of the elevator onto the platform, he could see you were trembling at the sight of how high up you were.
"y/n, babe...are you scared of heights?" he asks softly.
once you nod, he immediately rushes to your side, wrapping his arms around you before hoisting you up by your thighs.
will insist on carrying you until you reach solid ground, softly bouncing you up and down to calm your nerves while caressing your back.
smiles when you giggle at the action.
"it's okay now. you can just relax and I'll take care of everything."
꒰ hyunjin ꒱
super doting and sweet, he'll even ask if you want to go down.
once you convince him that you're fine (not really) and that you don't want to ruin the trip for anyone else, he offers to walk you to the edge (only as far as you're comfortable) and hold you tight so you can enjoy the view too
wraps his long arms around your waist from the back, slowly inching closer to the rails.
"you see that view over there?" he whispers softly into your neck, nudging his nose in the direction of the monument.
"hmm...it's beautiful," you whisper, placing your hands on top of his and brushing over his knuckles.
"but not as beautiful as you are."
꒰ jisung ꒱
scared squirrel.
doesn't even bother to hide how scared he is, clinging onto your equally trembling arm.
"y-y/n, babe...i-i think we should go soon."
you only nod, just as frightened as he is as you try to avoid staring down and seeing how high up you are
"give me a sec- i want to test something," jisung mumbles, detaching himself from you before slowly going down.
you stare at him confused when he kneels down on the cold surface, eyes bulging out when he full-on lays face down.
"w-what are you doing, jisung-?"
"laying down, you should try it too," he chuckles, all the fear gone from his tone.
giggles spill from your lips when you join him on the floor, ignoring the judging stares of all the other people around you.
"you're right. it feels way better down here."
꒰ felix ꒱
a sweet and understanding boy
similarly to hyunjin, would try his best to comfort you while letting you enjoy the amazing views at least a little bit
would choose to stay back with you while the others get closer to the edge.
"do you see that building?" he points to an old house in the distance once you're seated on a bench on his lap.
threads his hands through your hair, knowing that it helps to calm you, and continues to point out anything interesting that he thinks you might like.
"you did so well," he praises you when you're back on solid ground.
offers to treat you to ice cream once it's over.
꒰ seungmin ꒱
is worried at first, but after you've shown that you want to fight against it, he will absolutely stay by your side and encourage you to try to get over your fear.
believes that acts of service are the best way to help you through it, but he also knows that enough is enough so once you get too close to the edge for your liking and start trembling, he will quickly pull you back.
"here's some hot chocolate. you did so well, angel," he pats your head affectionately, handing you the warm beverage.
"I'm so proud of you, baby. next time, we can try just a little bit more."
꒰ jeongin ꒱
very worried for you.
he will ask a hundred times if it's okay and if you want to go somewhere else, but you tell him you really want to see the city from above.
holds your hand and has his other hand on your back the entire time while you're going up the stairs.
"are you sure, y/n?" he asks and you sigh, "yes, I'm sure, innie."
once you find yourself on the top, you start shivering due to the colder temperature.
jeongin immediately notices and takes off his scarf to wrap it around you, shielding you from the wind and the scary view.
"do you want to stay here, away from the edge?" he questions, pecking your cheek.
when you nod, he slips your hand into his, warm palm engulfing yours as you two observe the view from a safe distance.
......
a/n: heh, this was my first time writing a reaction thingy but it was so much fun!! as a resident scared-of-heights clown, this was one hundred percent self-indulgent :) masterlist

Hi I really liked the nagito x clingy s/o hcs! Can you di him but with an s/o who’s like Zenitsu from demon slayer?
I love this idea! Luckily I’ve watched demon slayer.
Nagito with an S/O like Zenitsu from demon slayer
Tumblr media
just like zenitsu anytime you saw a guy you thought was cute, hot, or something. You would always grab their hands and say “please! Marry me!” And they almost always rejected you.
Until you meet Nagito, you two meet in the main course class. The moment you laid your eyes on him, you felt your heart explode I wouldn’t be surprised if your eyes had hearts in them. Nobody was actually in their besides you two. He saw you and greeted you with a smile and you dashed over to him and grabbed one of his hands with both of yours. Got down on both knees and said “I don’t know who you are! but! please! marry me!”
Like anybody he was quite surprised but then gave a little chuckle and said “I would love too!-“ your eyes light up “but I think you could find somebody much better, than trash like me.”
At that moment you gave him a blank face look like you didn’t understand a thing he just said.
“Excuse me?”
“Hm?”
“I’m sorry. I think I just misheard you can you repeat that?”
“I said you can probably find somebody much better than trash like me.”
You started thinking a bunch of things ‘is he joking?’ ‘When was the last time this guy saw a mirror?’ ‘He’s looks like the definition of an angel!’ ‘Wait is this just a lie cause he doesn’t want to date me or he already has a girlfriend?’ You thought that the last one made the most sense.
“Listen if you weren’t into dating me or you had a girlfriend already you could’ve just told me. You didn’t have to lie.” You said irritated
“What made you think I lied!?” He said shocked
“Cause nobody as cute as you would call themselves trash!”
“Y-you think I-I’m c-cute?!?”
“Yeah, you look like an angel! That’s why I want you to marry me!”
“Well were to young to get married and we just met. How about we go on a date first?”
“Really! Sure! How about we go see a movie?”
“Yeah that’s sounds great!”
“Oh also my name is S/O!”
“What a wonderful name! I’m Nagito Komaeda!”
Inside you were so excited you were going on your first date with a super cute boy!
When you guys went to the movies he suggested a scary movie. Now you were a big baby when it came to scary things but you didn’t want to look lame to him. So you agreed and thought about how you have to stay brave during the movie.
30 minutes in the movie…
You were screaming at every jump scare even when they weren’t that scary. At the end you were crying. You were so embarrassed
“I’m sorry Nagito. I probably ruined that movie for you with all my screaming and crying. I can’t help it I scare very easily. I’ll just go home, thanks for the chance to go on a date.”
Before you walked away, he grabbed your wrist
“I really don’t mind, I found it adorable when you got scared and would cling onto my arm. Also letting yourself cry and trying not hold back your emotions must mean you are pretty honest and not one to hide your feelings. I can appreciate that about someone.”
You felt your face heat up! He just too cute
“T-then you wouldn’t mind going another date right?”
“Yeah!”
You jumped and and celebrated
Not long you guys officially became each others significant other.
Though one thing plagued both of your minds
“S/O I’ve never seen your ultimate talent. I also don’t know what it is. when I did research about our class and your name came up it was just question marks?”
“As weird as it may sound I don’t know but people thought I have one cause I get into trouble a lot and I get scared so much I pass out. But when I wake up I’m home.”
“Hhm that’s very interesti-mph!”
Both you guys were grabbed and pushed into a van and both of your hand were behind your back with handcuffs!
“Oh my god! What’s going on! We are going to DIE! NO NO NO NO NO NO! I can’t Die! I’m to young! I-I-I…” you pass out
“S/O!!”
“Wow what a scaredy-cat!”
“How pathetic.”
Suddenly you standed up. Which shocked everbody in the back of the van
“S/o…?”
Then you kicked one of them in the face. That one happened to have the key which you grabbed unlocked your handcuffs with. Then one by one in a blink of an eye you knocked them out.
“Don’t worry Nagito. I will protect and save you.”
You picked him up and opened the back of the van and jumped out. Thank goodness they were at a red light. The van drove off.
You then unlocked Nagito handcuffs. You then started waving back and forth. You landed on his shoulder mad a few snore noises and then woke up
“Ah! Oh Nagito! I had the most terrible dream! I dreamt that we were kidnapped!”
Nagito was still to process everything that just happened. Then he realize that must be your ultimate talent.
“Hey S/O did you ever learn how to fight?”
“Thats quite funny you ask me that…I did take a kung fu class and somehow I got into expert and pro. Why do you ask?”
“Oh I’m just curious.”
He thought it was quite the amazing and unusual talent but never the less he loved it!
Your classmates asked Nagito what your talent is! Since yourself didn’t know it. He would say he didn’t know even thought he did. because he thought nobody would believe him even if they told him.
It all came to light one day. when fuyuhiko knocked you out with a punch that was meant for Nagito cause he wouldn’t stop talking about Hope. But you jumped infront of him.
Everybody was watching.
“Ugh This time I’m going to get you!”
But before he could hit Nagito you grabbed his arm
“Wha-oof!”
You kicked him in the stomach and then punched him in the face.
Peko then tried to hit you with her bamboo sword. But you dodged and dodged until you found an opening and did not hold back on your attacks. Both of them were on the floor not able to get up.
“None of you will ever hurt Nagito.”
Everbody was really surprised cause that’s the most confident they ever heard you. Cause you were either crying or yelling.
Then you fell back into Nagito’s arms. Then you woke up.
“Did I fall asleep in class! Am I in trouble with our teacher! Nagitoooooo! Am I in trouble!”
You were back to normal.
From that day forward nobody messes with Nagito when you were asleep. Even Akane and Nekomaru
Sometime even when you weren’t asleep you could be very scary
For example some kids were making fun of Nagito calling him a hope obsessed freak and making fun of his looks.
”HUH! HOW DARE YOU MAKE FUN OF HIM!! YOU ALL ARE PROBABLY JUST JEALOUS!! YEAH JEALOUS!!! CAUSE HE’S SUPER CUTE AND IN THE MAIN COURSE AT HOPES PEAK ACADEMY!! BUZZ OFF!! LEAVE MY BOYFRIEND ALONE!! OR YOU WILL REGRET IIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTT!!!”
Tumblr media
A mad Zenitsu for people who don’t watch demon slayer. To give them an idea.
Nagito was a little considered about you after that little display.
“My hope do you really think that was necessary?”
You look back at him and noticed the nervousness on his face.
“Why do you think that was weird?!? I’m sorry I won’t do it again! ʷᵉˡˡ ⁿᵒᵗ ⁱⁿ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵒᶠ ʸᵒᵘ. Please don’t break up with me!!”
He comforted you promising he wasn’t going to break up with you over it.
You love Nagito probably more than he loves you and everybody’s talent and hope! And let me tell you that’s a lot. Like a lot!
Your just counting the days until you guys are old enough to get married. That’s how much you love him.
He never finds your crying or yelling annoying which can’t be said for a lot of people.
“Nagito I don’t know how you put up with me. But I really appreciate how you haven’t left me. I hope you don’t ever leave me. I love you a lot!”
“I know you think the way you act and the things you do are annoying, and to other people it is but not to me. It’s just who you are and I love who you are. I won’t leave you. I also know your waiting until we’re old enough to get married. I promise one day I’ll marry you.”
“OH MY GOSH REALLY! I LOVE YOU NAGITO! YOUR JUST THE BE-NO! THE GREATEST BOYFRIEND EVER! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!”
Then you started kissing him all over his face, hugging him, and nuzzling your faces together. All the while he was smiling, chuckling, and laughing
You two just have a really good relationship. It’s so cute and interesting!
Thank you komaeda_simp37 again! With another story idea! I hope you all enjoyed this little story and hope you consider following me! Please don’t be scared to ask me idea’s. Considering what it is I’ll think about writing it. I don’t do you know $exu@l stuff and I won’t write stuff like kidn@pping, or @bu$e! I am kinda of a yandere fan though so I might do that! Hope you have a wonderful day bye!

Turtle-y Awesome
@sketchy-panda sent me the following ask last week:
Tumblr media
...and this is the story that sprang from that ask. You never know what you're going to get when you share a headcanon with me! 😉
Read it on Ao3 here.
"...et puit, quand il fut bien certain que personne ne pouvait le voir, Benjamin alluma sa veilleuse."
Adrien turns the last worn page and sets the book beside his knee on Hugo's bed.
"What do you think, kitten? Benjamin was turtle-y being a scaredy-cat, wasn't he?"
Hugo giggles, eyes bright. "He's not a cat, Papa, he's a turtle!"
Adrien nods sagely at his son. "Right you are," he says, patting the book's cover. "If this book tortoise anything, it's that Benjamin is definitely a turtle."
The number of turtle puns in the world is finite, and Hugo has heard his dad tell them all repeatedly, but he still laughs every time. The sound is music to Adrien's ears. He grins as he leans down to tuck the duvet around Hugo's shoulders and lifts his son's dark fringe to place a kiss on his forehead.
"Can we read another story, Papa? I'm not even tired."
Hugo's big green eyes scrunch shut as he yawns widely.
"Mmhmm. I can tell. You know what?" Adrien grabs another stuffed turtle from the bookcase and tucks it in beside the Carapace plushie already cradled in Hugo's arms. "Monsieur Vert looks very tired. He was almost sleeping over there! Maybe if you hold him really, really gently, that will help him fall asleep. I'm sure Carapace is tuckered out after a long day of superheroing, too."
"He is," Hugo says, nodding. He strokes his little hand up and over Monsieur Vert's soft shell. "I'll help them, Papa."
Adrien smiles even as his chest squeezes with emotion. "I know you will, my kind-hearted kitten." He can't resist pressing another kiss to Hugo's forehead and delights in receiving a loud, smacking kiss to his own cheek in return.
The turtle lamp on the nightstand is switched off and the Carapace nightlight beside the bookshelf activates, dim light glowing green through the plastic.
"Bonne nuit, ma petite tortue."
He watches his son cuddle his turtle and Carapace close as the closing door slowly eclipses the bed in shadow from the hallway light. Leaving the door open a crack, Adrien listens for a moment as Hugo gets comfortable in his bed.
He smiles as he pads down the hall toward Emma's room to join his wife for another round of goodnight kisses for their precious kittens.
*****
"Kitty, this is getting ridiculous. How is that the only thing he wants for his birthday?" Marinette shakes her head, but her grin betrays her lack of any real annoyance.
Adrien rubs his face and groans. "I know. Believe me, I know. Can you imagine if Nino knew?"
That surprises her. "You haven't told him? I told Alya ages ago when he said Carapace was his favorite." She thinks for a moment. "I don't think I've shared the, um...depth of the obsession, though."
He stares at her, deadpan, before they both laugh.
"Turtles I could handle, Mari. They're cute. They're green." He bats his eyes at her and she swats his arm playfully. "But Carapace? Carapace? When Chat Noir is right there? I don't get it."
"Awww, Chaton. Is my kitty jealous?"
"Of course not," he says, pouting, though he can't keep up the ruse and his smile breaks through. "Okay, maybe a little."
"Nino made a wonderful hero, and is the perfect holder for Wayzz, and you know it."
She scooches closer to him on the sofa and rubs his back gently. His eyes close for just a moment before opening them to find his wife gazing at him with what might just be his favorite look in her eyes - a teasing glint, a touch of heat, and an endless well of love. Everything goes fuzzy momentarily, but he catches her next words clearly.
"Besides, my favorite hero will always be Chat Noir. Always."
"Yeah?" he breathes.
She nods.
Her eyes go wide when he hauls her petite frame from the sofa beside him and settles her across his lap. She laughs as she wraps her arms around his neck and presses a kiss to his lips.
"What a coincidence, My Lady," he murmurs into the whisper of space between them, "because my favorite hero--" He pauses, kissing her again, "is also Chat Noir."
There's a beat of silence and then she's laughing, pressing her face into the crook of his neck to muffle her giggles. His arms tighten around her shaking shoulders as he laughs along with her, swept away by the sweet sound he will always love. There's no joy in the world quite like making his wife laugh.
"You know I'm kidding, Bug," he finally whispers into her hair when their laughter subsides. "Emma and I share a favorite hero. The greatest of all. Prettiest, too. Oh, wow, is she ever beautiful. And strong. And smart."
"Rena Rouge?" Marinette asks cheekily, her nose still pressed to his neck.
"Nooooo," he croons, tickling her sides until she laughs again. "It's Ladybug, jumping above, Lady magique et lady chance!"
"Kitty, no!" she begs through her giggles, "Don't get that in my head!"
"Too late!"
He silences the last of her laughter when he captures her lips with his, twin sighs mingling in the late-night quiet of the living room.
With forever in his arms and their shared future asleep down the hall, Adrien simply loses himself in this blissful moment, forgetting that their baby will turn five next weekend, that the passage of time is as inevitable as the dichotomy of creation and destruction. Wrapped up in his wife, time seems to stop altogether. Marinette - her love, her care, their unshakeable bond - is eternal.
But of course, the clock still ticks. And when they part a few minutes later, after one last kiss and a nuzzle of her nose against his, he still has to ask.
"So we're really throwing Hugo a Carapace-themed birthday party?"
She nods. "Yep."
"And we're buying him the new Shell-ter Secret Hideout Super Bunker, complete with Carapace action figure, power-ups, costume changes, a Turtle-mobile sports car that Nino never had, and four different colored shields that he also never had?"
"There's a jet, too, for some reason. But...yep."
Adrien nods slowly, a smile spreading across his face. "He's going to love it."
"Oh, he is," she affirms, her grin matching her husband's. "And so is Uncle Nino."
He snorts a laugh and pulls her close once more, breathing in the familiar scent of her shampoo.
"This'll be hilarious."
Marinette smiles against his shoulder.
"Yep."
*****
Everything is green.
Their normally colorful apartment seems to have transformed into an emerald dreamscape that doubles as a turtle sanctuary.
Everything is green, and there are turtles everywhere.
Sea turtles, tortoises, turtles of all kinds - including a certain turtle-themed superhero - adorn every surface. Adrien had been surprised by the amount of Carapace party merchandise he was able to find online. He's used to the numerous Carapace items in Hugo's bedroom, pieces he's added to his collection one by one over the past year or so. But this, his best friend's face dangling from streamers, emblazoned on little party hats, is just a little weird.
He's proud, though. A little jealous, a lot amused, and very, very proud. No desperately sad, pitifully lonely teenage boy has ever found a better friend than Nino Lahiffe. He's the brother of his heart, the mellow to his anxious, the staunch protector of their little group of best friends and hero teammates. Adrien has to admit that Hugo has great taste in favorite superheroes.
Someday he'll discover that his idol is also his Uncle Nino, but today is not that day. Today, the magic and wonder still shines in his son's eyes, and it's a beautiful thing.
Adrien putters around the kitchen making last-minute preparations to the food and drink selection, making sure there are plenty of cups and plates (all printed with a Carapace action scene, of course) stacked on the island. Oddly, he couldn't find Carapace napkins to go along with the other paper goods, but Marinette had saved the day by snagging a pack of sea turtle patterned napkins that coordinated perfectly in a pinch.
He smiles at the thought of his resourceful bug, his grin widening as he hears her welcome guests at the door. This is followed by a squeal of glee when Hugo and two of his classmates run off to his bedroom to play. Adrien shakes his head, still smiling. He'll have to lure them out in a bit with snacks and the promise of gifts and cake.
It's not like he doesn't already know from several years of experience that children's birthday parties are mostly adults mingling and intermittently making sure the kids don't get into too much mischief as they play together.
He takes the spinach quiche from the oven where it was warming up and sets it on the table with the other food, rebelliously placing a black potholder with a neon green pawprint pattern under the hot ceramic dish.
A towering, tiered tray of green macarons has pride of place on the dining room table, the top half of each cookie painted to look like a turtle's shell in edible glittering gold. They look almost too pretty to eat, and the same goes for the expertly-decorated turtle cake nearby, made by Hugo's grandparents and brought straight from the bakery for his big day.
The vegetable plate is an array of green, from broccoli to peppers to celery. The party has barely begun, but the celery is already running low, thanks to Emma's clandestine snacking in the hours beforehand.
Everything is green, and Hugo loves it. And that's what it's all about, really.
*****
Adrien is on his way back from checking in on the now half dozen kids playing in Hugo's room when he hears Alya's laughter from the entryway. Clearly she's spotted the party decor. He rounds the corner to find Marinette hugging her best friend, Alya's pregnant belly only getting in the way a bit and not stopping her from throwing her arms around Marinette's shoulders.
"Sorry we're late, Mari," she says, then pitches her voice to a stage whisper. "I had to pee. Twice." She leans back from the hug and cradles her bump. "Actually, I'm just going to..." She points down the hall, and Marinette laughs.
"Go for it, Als. We've all been there."
Nino is still crouched by the door, helping his daughter out of her jacket and shoes. He just shakes his head and laughs. She races off to find her "cousins" and Nino stands, kissing Marinette on each cheek and wrapping Adrien in a hug.
Surveying the apartment over Adrien's shoulder, he claps him on the back and says, "I love what you've done with the place. Very inspired design choice."
Adrien rolls his eyes and all three of them laugh.
"Hugo is obsessed with turtles. You have no idea."
"Oh, I think he has some idea, Minou." Marinette smiles at her husband over her shoulder, linking arms with Alya when she joins them again and ushering her into the green-bedecked living room.
He glances sidelong at Nino with a sheepish grin. "This isn't too weird for you, is it? It was all Hugo's idea. He hasn't stopped talking about his 'Carapace Turtle Party' for weeks," Adrien says, air quotes included.
"Nah, mec, it's cool. Kind of flattering." Nino raises an eyebrow and laughs. "What do you think he'll say when you tell him someday?"
Adrien just shakes his head. "Probably ask if you can adopt him and be his dad instead." His smile is teasing but just a touch rueful.
Nino laughs again. "No way, man. Number one, I've already got enough kids. Number two, you're the best dad. They love you like crazy, bro. Seriously."
His chest fills with warmth. Nino is such an incredible friend. And he's right (about the last bit, at least).
"They're incredible, Nino. Being a dad is..." He trails off, unable to find the words.
"I know, dude." He claps Adrien on the shoulder. "They're a pain in the ass, but they make up for it by being totally awesome."
Nino glances around, finally spotting the table full of green food and turtle-themed treats.
"Wait. Bro. Is that a turtle cake?"
*****
"You know," Nino says a few minutes later, washing down a matcha macaron with a swig of turtle punch, "I could get used to this. It would mess with my head, but after a while--" he looks at the cup with his face on it and shrugs, "it's not so strange. Better than having my face plastered on a billboard outside the Galeries Lafayette."
Adrien groans. "Et tu, Brute? Why would you remind me of that?"
"Because I can." Nino takes another bite of macaron and nudges his best friend's shoulder, laughing.
*****
As the kids snack and carry on, Adrien finally decides it's time to let his best friend see the Carapace shrine that is his son's bedroom.
Nino takes in Hugo's completely green, turtle-filled bedroom as Adrien waits with bated breath beside him for his reaction.
It is, as usual, relatively chill.
"Little dude has good taste!"
"Indeed." Wayzz peeks from Nino's collar with a pleased smile on his face. "The turtle has always symbolized wisdom, strength, and longevity." His tiny smile widens. "I'm also partial to the color green."
Nino steps farther into Hugo's room to examine the bookcase. "I...did not know they made this much Carapace merch."
"Believe me, there's more. We have to draw the line somewhere." Adrien closes his eyes and sighs. "Although he does brush his teeth with a Carapace toothbrush."
Nino's laugh starts as a snort and builds when he spots the Carapace wastebasket beside Hugo's bed and the Carapace plushie propped against his pillow. It turns positively raucous when he sees his best friend's face.
"Holy crap, dude," he wheezes. "This is hilarious. You must be so jealous."
"I am not!"
"You totally are."
"Well--" Adrien sputters, "Marinette is, too!"
"Not as much as you are, Kitty!" she calls from the living room.
Adrien throws his hands in the air. Nino doubles over.
"Chat Noir is cool, too," he mutters, petulant.
A still-laughing Nino pats his arm consolingly. "If it makes you feel any better, Chat Noir is my favorite hero...after Rena Rouge."
That actually does make him feel better, but he's not telling Nino that. Instead, he just grins a sly half-smile at his best friend. "Good save, man."
"Hey, I know which side my bread is buttered on, mec. Don't act like you don't."
Adrien is helpless to the smile that spreads across his face.
Nino groans. "You've been married for seven years, dude. Are you ever not going to go all gooey just thinking about Marinette?"
Adrien quirks an eyebrow and glances sidelong at him. Nino nods once and pats Adrien's shoulder.
"That was a dumb question, wasn't it?"
"Yep," Marinette says from the hallway behind them.
Adrien's heart beats faster at the twinkle in her eye. He wonders how much she heard. Probably all of it - she always did have sonic hearing, but motherhood seemed to ramp it up to eleven. Not much escapes his wife.
"Time for cake and presents," she announces. "Nino, you can revel in Hugo's Carapace shrine later."
"And I will, don't you worry," Nino says with a laugh as he turns to head back to the party.
Adrien throws an arm over his best friend's shoulder and smiles brightly at Marinette.
Hugo has merch, but Adrien has a real, live Ladybug who promised eternity to her Chat Noir. He holds his own favorite superhero in his arms every night, and nothing, nothing compares to that.
*****
Surrounded by wrapping paper and bows, the birthday boy sits on the floor with one last gift in front of him. The box is taller than he is when seated, and he has to stand up on his knees to tear the paper off the top. As soon as he can see what's inside, he shouts with glee and jumps to his feet. Overjoyed, he scampers around the coffee table to his parents, first thanking Marinette with a hug and kiss, then getting swept up in Adrien's arms for a bear hug.
The fact that Hugo doesn't push away from him to return to his barely-unwrapped gift is not lost on him, nor is the fact that he abandoned it and thought to thank them first in his excitement.
Sometimes Adrien feels like he's been given so much more than he deserves. Marinette alone is a blessing beyond his imagination, but Emma and Hugo, too? It's too much and he knows it, so he holds them close and relishes every single moment like this one with his little boy hugging him tight and murmuring thanks into his neck.
A few minutes later finds Hugo examining every detail of his new treasure (after Adrien wrangled all the parts out of their plastic-encased prison).
He claps his hands when he sees that this set comes with a bonus Chat Noir action figure in addition to Carapace and his shields of many colors.
"Maman!" he cries, jubilant, holding Chat Noir above his head so she can see. "Look! It has Chat Noir! You love Chat Noir!"
Blushing, Marinette pointedly avoids looking in the direction of the two moms of Hugo's school friends who've stayed for the party but smiles widely at her son. "I do. He's my favorite superhero of all time."
Hugo nods, turning to his dad where he sits beside him on the floor, struggling to snip the tiny plastic anchors holding each piece to the cardboard backing.
"See, Papa? He's Carapace's sidekick."
"Hey!" Adrien says indignantly. He looks up from the mess of cardboard and plastic in his lap as Marinette, Alya, and Nino laugh.
Nino, best bro that he is, chimes in. "Nah, little man, Chat Noir is no one's sidekick. He's way too brave and cool for that." He grins at Hugo and points first to the Carapace action figure on the coffee table and then to Chat Noir in his hand. "They're a team. Best friends and superheroes at the same time. That's why they're so awesome."
Hugo looks at the Chat Noir figure for a long moment. "Wow," he breathes. "Chat Noir is as cool as Carapace." He says it like a revelation that's rocked his entire worldview.
Alya sniffles and Marinette hands her a tissue.
"Okay, but Ladybug is still the coolest," Emma pipes up from Hugo's other side.
All the adults besides Marinette nod. Adrien reaches around Hugo to pat Emma's back.
"You're absolutely correct, kitten."
Marinette blushes again and Alya blows her nose.
Hugo tucks Carapace into the driver's seat of the Turtle-mobile with Chat Noir beside him as his passenger, racing the sports car across the rug toward his friends so they can play with his new toys, too.
Adrien looks from his son to his own best friend, and Nino gives him a thumbs up and a grin.
*****
Later, when the dishes are washed and their living room looks slightly less like a turtle habitat, Adrien sits on the sofa with a cup of tea and watches Hugo play with his new, treasured birthday gifts. The Shell-ter Secret Hideout Super Bunker is open, its many accessories strewn around Hugo where he sits cross-legged, Carapace in his left hand and Chat Noir in his right.
"I'll protect you!" "Carapace" cries, Hugo's voice pitched to sound brave and true but still carrying his sweet child's tone.
"Thank you for keeping My Lady safe, Carapace!"
Adrien snorts a surprised laugh into his tea. "Chat Noir" speaks in a husky growl, though Hugo gives him a note of cheery confidence, as though he truly appreciates Carapace's brave deeds, as though Chat Noir can take the decisive cataclysmic swing knowing his beloved partner is safe from harm.
And honestly, Hugo has the right of it. Adrien wonders how his son could possibly know that this exact scene - with slightly different dialogue, of course - played out many times over, years before he was born.
Hugo mimics the sound of an explosion, then an "oof!" as Chat Noir falls to his back but springs up again quickly. Just as Carapace returns to Chat's side with a confident, "What can I do to help save the day, Chat Noir?", Marinette's hands snake around Adrien's shoulders from behind, surprising him.
He sets his mug on a coaster on the end table and wraps his hands around her forearms, pulling her in closer. Leaned over the back of the sofa, she nuzzles his cheek with hers before pressing a kiss to the corner of his mouth.
"I think we pulled off the dream turtle party pretty well, don't you, Chaton?"
"Oh, we turtle-y did."
Adrien delights in the huff of laughter she exhales against his cheek. That might be the most overused pun in the house, but sometimes it still lands just right. They watch Hugo play, matching grins making their cheeks press closer together.
"Looks like that was one shell of a gift, eh?"
He swoons dramatically, his head falling to the back cushion of the sofa so he looks at Marinette upside-down. "My Lady, you know what it does to me when you pun."
"Oh, I do," she says, completely unapologetic, and boops his nose.
He just has to lean up to kiss her because, well, she's so beautiful and he loves her so much and she's right there.
They break apart a moment later when they hear Emma call for Marinette from her bedroom. She plants one last upside-down kiss on his forehead and lets her hands drift slowly across his chest and shoulders as she stands.
She gives him a wry smile. "Duty calls."
"Hmmm," he hums thoughtfully, picking up his tea and taking another sip. "And here I thought her name was Emma."
Marinette groans at him as she walks away, and the sound catches Hugo's attention.
"Papa? Will you play superheroes with me?"
Of course. Always. I will never, ever be too busy for my kittens, he thinks.
"Sure, buddy," he says instead.
Finishing his tea in one big gulp, he slides from the sofa and scampers on hands and knees like a giant cat to where his son is playing. Hugo giggles at his dad's ridiculousness.
Adrien takes stock of the many accessories scattered around the play set and asks, "What are Chat Noir and Carapace up to today?"
Hugo explains the situation, the bad guy's motives, and what the heroes need to do to save Paris from disaster. Adrien listens carefully. Looking up at him with green eyes that match his own, big and wide and crinkled at the corners with his happy smile, Hugo offers the Chat Noir action figure to his dad.
"Will you be Chat Noir, Papa? He's Carapace's best friend in the world and they need to work together to save the day."
Adrien cradles the action figure in one hand and gently pats the pocket where Plagg hides with the other. His kwami presses a paw against his chest in return. Overwhelmed, all he can do is grin at Hugo and try not to cry.
"It would be my greatest honor," he vows grandly, holding up a hand in oath. "I purr-omise to be the best hero I can be. Cat's honor."
Hugo laughs. "You said honor twice."
"So I did. That's because it's very important."
His son nods solemnly, then reaches for Carapace's super jet. He places the hero in the cockpit and flies the jet around his head, making zooming noises.
"Are you ready, Chat Noir? I'm coming to pick you up!"
The jet has only one seat, but that doesn't seem to bother Hugo. Adrien readies the tiny plastic baton in Chat Noir's hand and uses it to vault from his own knee into the imaginary sky over Paris.
"Meow-velous!" he crows, delighted. "This cat is ready to be whiskered away in your very realistic jet! Allons-y, my turtle friend!"
Hugo giggles, Adrien's heart melts, and they set off on a grand adventure together.

Tolerate It (Part 2)
~ Your Morning ~
The night was spent with shots of firewhiskey and tears. There was nothing that could really prepare you for the feeling in your chest. Your body was convulsing from the sheer torment you had put it through. Luckily, you had someone who was there for you, but it didn’t make the pain ache any less.
When you woke up in the morning, your head ached from the alcohol and the crying. Your face was puffy from crying relentlessly, and your throat was sore from the inevitable coughing that comes with an intense session of tears and wails. Even your lungs were tired from all of the hyperventilating. You grabbed the shirt on your body pulling it to your nose, but much to your surprise you weren’t too familiar with the scent. That was when you acknowledged that your friend let you sleep in hers. When was the last time that you weren't wearing Harry’s shirts? These thoughts needed to leave you. You deserved to move on and be celebrated for everything that you are.
You made breakfast for your friend, and now roommate. She thanked you and complimented your cooking skills. It felt foreign to feel recognized for something so mundane. She offered to clean up, which you graciously accepted. You changed into some of her clothes so that you could go to work. You had managed to take half the day off, but the distraction from, well, let’s just refer to him as he-who-shall-not-be-named. Ironic right? Our hell has been killed, and yet a new one arises in his place. I would never have thought that he would become mine.
All throughout your shift, you tried to keep your focus on work. “Be productive” became your mantra. Eventually, however, your time at work came to a close, and you knew that you had to get your things. You apparated and appeared in front of your old front door. Cautiously, you opened it. You knew he would be at work, but a small piece of you hoped that he would be moping around, waiting for your return. When you found nothing but silence, you couldn’t tell if you were relieved or disappointed.
You knew how much time you had to gather everything you owned, but you didn’t want to risk him coming home and finding you, so you rushed. With everything packed up, you took a look around. The place looked quite empty. When you two had moved in, a lot of the decorating was your own doing. You wanted it to feel warm and inviting, despite who you had felt living there. Now, it looked like how the place felt. Your eyes glanced into the kitchen and you saw the dishes, piled high in the sink. Of course, he probably thought that you would come back and have them done. You scoffed and grabbed your things. When you arrived at your new place, you took everything you could and put it into your room. Emotionally, you were drained, so when you felt your eyes closing, you knew that your day had ended.
~ Harry’s Morning ~
After you left, Harry stayed at the table. He pushed the food around his plate until his stomach warned him to finally eat. He was lost in his angry thoughts. Who were you to accuse him of such stupidity. He loved you, and he knew that he made it clear to you all of the time. You were just being obnoxious and clingy. You would get over it and all would return to normal. That night, he piled the dishes into the sink and walked into his study. He scribbled a letter to Ginny, where he explained how you walked out on him, and how you accused him of such atrocious behavior. Afterwards, he went to bed, feeling slightly colder than normal.
The following morning, he was greeted by a chill. He looked over and saw your side of the bed unslept in. Of course you didn’t return in the middle of the night. He walked out into the kitchen expecting to see you there, but he was greeted with silence. The room smelt of the dinner you cooked the night before. He rolled his eyes to himself, and began to make breakfast. As he placed the bacon on the pan, the scent brought him back to one morning at Grimmauld Place.
“Harry!” You exclaimed as Harry hugged you. “I’m trying to cook. Leave me be!” You giggled.
“But I can help. I used to cook all the time for the Dursley’s. Then we can be done quicker and spend more time together.” His smile was so bright, and his tone remained mischievous.
“Precisely Harry. You don’t have to be a slave anymore. Let me do this for you.” You turned around in his embrace after flipping the bacon. “Besides, after we are done with school, I’m gonna cook breakfast for you every morning just to show you how much I love you.” As you finished that sentence, you booped his nose and turned back to your cooking. Harry just smiled into the crook of your neck, fantasizing about his life with you.
After you finally managed to kick him out of the kitchen, he caught sight of his godfather, who offered a knowing smile.
“You know Harry, she’s a keeper.” Harry nodded in response, and turned around to watch you work.
“She sure is Sirius.”
You had kept your word. Every morning that you were together, you cooked breakfast for him. He ate in silence, like he did while he was with you, except this time, it felt different, almost eerie. He piled the rest of the dishes into the sink and finished getting ready for work. He wasn’t missing any of his shirts. That was unusual. He apparated to his job, trying not to think too much.
“Hey mate. You look awfully tired today.” Ron was too joyful for his taste.
“Didn’t sleep well.” Was all he said.
By lunch time, Ron had figured out that something was wrong. He had seen his friend when he was tired. Something was bothering him, and his irritable behavior was starting to piss him off.
“You gonna tell me what’s wrong, or are you gonna continue acting like a prat?” Ron always had a way of getting the truth out of him.
“Y/N left last night.” Harry huffed.
“Whatever happened, I’m sure she’ll be back. She loves you.”
“Loved seems more accurate. She said I've been neglecting her.” As Harry spoke, it seemed like he became angrier with every word. “She accused me of not loving her or appreciating her, and then she walked out.”
“Harry, is it possible that she was right? Those feelings don’t just come out of nowhere. I mean the other night at Mum’s, you didn’t really look pleased to have her around. Maybe you should go and talk to her.” Ron thought he was being reasonable with his words. He wanted to side with his friend, but he was worried about you. You had been friends at school, and after the war, you had stopped talking to him and Hermione. He hadn’t seen you a lot recently, and he couldn’t but be concerned with you behavior the other night. You used to be bright and bubbly.
“All I’m saying Harry, is that Ron is reasonable about his fear of spiders, although you can be a bit of a scaredy cat,” you joked while nudging Ron.
“Y/N I am not. Any fear I have is reasonable. Plus you didn’t see how big those spiders were. Plus I was 12. Even Fang was scared.”
“Yeah, and Fang is a scaredy cat too. Ask Hagrid. Now,” you jumped up from your spot and grabbed his fork, “admit that you’re a scaredy cat, and I’ll give you back your fork.”
“This isn’t funny. I’m very brave. I’m in Gryffindor.” You started to wander away from the table, giggles spilling from your lips. “Y/N, please c’mon. I’m hungry. Oh, fine! I’m a scaredy cat, okay? Terrified of giant spiders. Is that what you wanted? Now give me my fork back.” By the end, he was yelling in the great hall, and you were laughing uncontrollably at his desperate confession. You handed him his fork and continued to giggle.
“Brave sure, but you are pretty dumb Ron. There was another fork right there,” you said pointing to where he was sitting a moment before. Harry and Hermione just facepalmed at their friends’ shenanigans.
Your silent behavior was unlike you, and he knew there was something going on, but he didn’t get the chance to ask you about it. Harry left the conversation, frustrated with his friend, and he returned to his job. He needed to get his mind off of what you said the night before.
On his return home, he half expected you to be back, waiting for him to come home so you could talk through things. He was met with a cold emptiness. Your things were gone. He rushed into your bedroom, and saw that half of the room was bare. There wasn’t an ounce of you left to grasp onto. He realized that you weren’t just in a fight. You were gone, and it was all his fault. He put his head down on what used to be your pillow. Your perfume was light, but the slightest whiff let him feel you. He hadn’t felt you in so long. You’ve always been there, but he wasn’t close enough to you to get the scent. You were right. He had been neglecting you. His tears began to fall as he held onto the only bit of you he had left.
“Look at what I bought! This is going to be perfect Harry.”
“Darling, you’ve done too much.”
“How dare you? This is so very important. When people come over, they need to be welcomed. They need to be in awe over how amazing I am at decorating. This is our place Harry! It needs to be perfect.” He was aware of how serious you were which made him smile to himself. You could be a lot to handle sometimes, but that’s what he loved about you.
“As long as you’re here with me, it will be perfect.” He nuzzled into you and breathed in the beautiful scent you omitted. You really were perfect.
Are perfect. You are perfect, and he just let you walk out the door. Worse than that, he allowed you to think less of yourself. He’s been through a lot of heartbreak and pain, but this was worse. Hell, he even died, but this was worse. He stayed in bed the rest of the night. He couldn’t bring himself to eat. Eventually, he fell asleep.
~ Your Response ~
You were doing better than you expected. You weren’t happy by any means, in fact you still cried yourself to sleep, but you were better. You worked your regular schedule, and you really put everything you could into your work. Your roommate was great, although you knew she would be. You two were friends. You still hadn’t fully unpacked yet. It felt as if you did, it would really be over, and you weren’t ready to let go just yet.
One morning, you felt that you needed to go out and do something productive. So, you went to Diagon Alley. You owe yourself a little shopping spree, and maybe you would get a gift for your roommate to thank her for allowing you to move in on such short notice. You had made your way through different stores. You found yourself outside a bookstore. You smiled at it, but it felt bittersweet.
“Is there a reason we need more books? C’mon dear, you aren’t Hermione. You don’t need to compete for who has more books. We barely have space for them.” Harry never understood why you wanted to buy all of these books.
“There is a very good reason Harry. I just haven’t told you yet.” You continued looking through the shelves, trying to find a book that jumped out at you and told you that it was a must read.
“What do I have to do to find out?” He was watching you in awe.
“Find a book you want, and I mean really want. I don’t want you just picking up some random book. And then, I’ll be ready to tell you.” He took the challenge and began looking for the book. After about twenty minutes, he returned back to you, book in hand. You looked at it and smiled at him.
“So, why are we buying these?” You laughed and walked to the counter to check out.
“I said I would be ready to tell you. I never said that I would.” Harry playfully rolled his eyes and followed after you.
You never did get to tell him your reasoning for buying all of those books. A shame really, but now that you two aren’t together, they don’t mean anything. You sighed and walked to get some ice cream.
“Y/N?” You turned in the direction of the voice. A part of you wanted to just leave her standing there, but you knew that she would be persistent.
“How can I help you Ginny?” You tried to sound polite, but you were bitter.
“How are you? Harry told me about your fight.” Of course he told her.
“I’m fine. Now if you don’t mind, I was gonna get some ice cream and get home.” Except, it wasn’t home to you.
“Well, I was gonna get some ice cream too, so let’s get some together. It’s my treat.” You didn’t want to eat with her, but free ice cream was not something you were about to pass up. You nodded your head in response. You both ordered your ice cream, and took a seat outside.
“I heard Harry’s side, but I think he left some things out. I was talking to Ron, and he said that you looked like you were going through something before your fight. We’re all worried about you two. I know that I may have overstepped a little bit, and I’m sorry, but you two are perfect for each other. I don’t think that I can handle being what came between you two.” You scoffed. She wasn’t at fault. Sure she was a part of why you were mad, but it wasn’t her fault that Harry stopped loving you.
“Listen Ginny, I don’t want you to feel like this is your fault, because it isn’t. Harry stopped caring about me a long time ago, and I finally realized it. I gave him everything, and he brushed me off. He was just dealing with me being there. I left because I deserve to be happy. I may not be there yet, but I can’t go back to be treated like a maid.” She seemed to understand. The two of you talked a little longer about how you were, her life, and her family. Eventually, you parted ways. You felt a little better knowing that she didn’t find you selfish or crazy.
That night, you two didn’t cry yourself to sleep. You were still sad, but there were no more tears.
You were awoken to a familiar owl at your window. You grabbed the letter and opened it.
 Dear Y/N,
I know you hate me, but I think we should talk. There are things I need to say, but mostly,
I need to apologize. In person. Please come back. Tonight, 7:30.
Love,
Harry
~ Harry’s Response ~
Harry was miserable. His days at work were unproductive. Ron was concerned, but he didn’t know what to do. He had never seen his best friend this distraught. He was beginning to look like Sirius did when he escaped from Azkaban. Harry would come home and whimper at the lack of you in his home. It used to be your home. The place was a mess. If you had seen it, you would probably scold him for being so irresponsible.
It was a Saturday. He had nothing to do but sit around at home. He walked into his study, and found the pile of books in the closet. You complained that he had the study to himself, so you stole the closet from him claiming that you deserved it. He complied. Since you left, he hadn’t opened it. He was terrified of what it could possibly be, but his hand continued to the knob. Inside were all of your books. You kept buying more whenever you two would make your way to Diagon Alley. He never found out why you bought them, but he still wondered. He opened a few of them, and recognized your handwriting in the margins. They mostly consisted of your reactions to things that you read, or even just cute doodles that matched the story.
He held a couple of them to his chest as he thought of you. He didn’t know how long he was sitting there. He was only interrupted by the call of his name. He reluctantly got up and looked for the owner of the voice.
‘Blimey Harry. You’ve destroyed this place.” Ron was there. Of course. Ginny stood beside him, looking disappointed.
“Harry, we need to talk about Y/N. You’ve been insufferable without her, and she’s struggling too,” Ginny stated.
“How do you know how she’s doing?” Harry was really worried.
“Ginny met with her today at Diagon Alley. Harry, when was the last time you cleaned at all? This place  is absolutely disgusting.” Ron winced at the sight of the kitchen.
“Harry, I’m gonna cut right down to it. You need to talk to her. You are killing yourself over your mistakes, and she is struggling to deal with how you treated her. Merlin, Harry, how could you let her down. Did you know that she really believes that you stopped loving her? The damage you’ve caused is almost irreversible, but I think you both need to talk. If not to sort things out, then to give you both closure.” Ginny had a point.
“I don’t even know how to talk to her. I don’t want her to see me like this either.”
“Mate, we don’t want to see you like this either, but we can fix that,” Ron exclaimed.
“She said that she is living with a Y/F/N.” Harry’s eyes lit up. He knew where that was.
“Harry, you are going to shower, and we are gonna start cleaning up this,” he motioned to the room, “and then you are gonna tell her to meet you here tomorrow night. It’s the least you could do,” Ron finished with a hopeful look. Harry nodded and retreated to the bathroom.
~ Together at Last ~
You were nervous to say the least, but you gathered yourself and apparated to the place you once called home. You knocked on the door. It felt foriegn, but you didn’t feel like you could just enter a place you no longer lived. You heard rustling from behind the door, and what you thought was a curse. Then the door opened, and you saw a slightly disheveled Harry smiling awkwardly at you. You returned the smile but stayed where you were standing.
‘Oh, come in.” He moved out of the way and closed the door after you. There was a smell in the house that you could only describe as burnt food.
“I’m sorry, I was trying to cook for you, but I think I lost that ability, and well, it’s not entirely edible. I ordered a pizza a little while ago. It should be here any minute.” Almost as if on cue, there was another knock at the door. He rushed to get it, while you stood observing the place. It was clean, but it looked dark and empty.
You both walked over to the table where he placed the pizza. You sat down cautiously and eyed all of his clumsy motions. He was reminding you of how he was in school. Completely unaware of how to act in front of a woman. It was kind of funny, but you couldn’t bring yourself to smile. When he sat down, he looked up at you with a nervous glint in his eyes.
“I guess I should start by apologizing. I have a lot to say, so I ask that you allow me to speak this time. First of all, I am an idiot for so many reasons. The things I said to you that night were cruel and unreasonable, and I cannot put in words how sorry I am. You were right. I have no excuse for the way I treated you. I’ve been thinking, a lot actually, about us. I need you to know that I have never stopped loving you.”
“Harry-” you began.
“Let me finish please. You are the greatest thing to ever happen to me, and losing you broke me. I need you in my life, not as a caretaker, but as my equal. I need you by my side because you make life so much better. I don’t know what happened, but as cliché as it sounds, I realized just how much I need you and love you after you left. I know you waited so long for me, and I did nothing but push you aside. I’m promising you now, if you take me back, and you come home to me, then I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. I will show you everyday how much I love you more than anything. So please darling, come home.” His eyes were glossing, and you could tell that he was being honest. It’s been a long time since you’ve seen him this vulnerable.
“Harry, I hoped everyday that you would stop being cold, and would turn to me and confess just how much you love me. It never happened. I want to be with you because I love you, but I can’t help but be scared that you will resort back to your old ways. I don’t think I can take being someone that is underappreciated and unloved. I need time.” You were being honest with him. You couldn’t afford to push your feelings aside anymore.
“Will you take me back? I want to start fresh, but I want you here.” His desperation was clear.
“Okay, but I need things to be slow for a while. I don’t trust you, but I love you.” He jumped up from his seat and walked over to you. His arms wrapped around your body. It had been so long since you were in his arms. Your scent made him sigh in relief, while his warmth let you relax into the embrace. This is what you had waited for. It had been so long, but it had been worth it.
The following day, you both had taken the day off from work to move you back in and spend quality time together. You had stayed the night wrapped up in his arms. It was the best night of sleep either of you had gotten in far too long. You wrote to your roommate that morning telling her that you were moving out, but you promised to pay your part of the rent until she found a new roommate. She understood and was happy that you figured things out with the love of your life.
You woke up before Harry, as per usual, and walked into the kitchen to start making breakfast. When Harry woke up, he was worried because you were no longer in bed beside him. He got up and walked into the kitchen to see you over by the stove. He smiled and found himself behind you, his arms on your waist.
“Good morning love,” he said, sleep still heavy in his face. You smirked and kept cooking.
“You know, I would cook for you, but-” he started.
“But, you would burn down the place, and quite frankly, I don’t have any faith in your cooking abilities. Plus, I promised you breakfast every morning while we are together. I don’t like to break my promises.” You felt his smile grow in your neck.
The rest of the day consisted of Harry being glued to your hip. He missed you so much, and he didn’t want to spend any time away from you. After you had moved all of your things back into your home, you collapsed onto the couch from exhaustion. Harry sat next to you and wrapped his arms around your body.
“Can I ask you a question?” You smiled at him.
“You just did, but go ahead,” you joked.
“The books in the closet. Why do we have so many of them?”
“Oh those? Well, I wanted to have something to give to our future children. Something I could share just between us. I know it’s kinda dumb, but I’d like to think that our kids would like to have that bond. Maybe even make it into a family tradition that they bring to their kids.” You said this with a slight blush forming.
“I think it’s brilliant. Remind me that we need to get some more.”
“Why is that?”
“Well, our children should have some from both of us, don’t you think?” You laughed and nuzzled closer into his body.
“I love you so much Y/N and don’t ever let me forget it.” He placed a kiss on the top of your head, and tightened his hold on your body. He would never let you go again.

Tumblr media
“I don’t get why we’re watching this when Jennie unnie obviously won’t get any sleep.” You muttered while wrapping your blanket around yourself and popping some candy into your mouth. Lisa lightly pushed your leg so she could sit next to you and you comply, snuggling into her side for warmth as she happily wrapped her arms around you.
Meanwhile, Jennie had to roll her eyes at your claim before tossing a pillow at your face. “Shut up. Lisa picked the movie and we all agreed to watch before she even said anything.” The older woman grumbled and you blew her a kiss to ease her annoyance, only to earn a pout instead.
“If you’re going to make me sit through this, at least cuddle with me and not her.” She whined, making you groan as you were being forced to move from your comfortable position.
Chaeyoung giggled at the three of you before she plopped herself next to the maknae and gave you a tiny push. “Come on, Y/n unnie. You know she won’t leave you alone if you don’t do what she says.” The blonde reminds, making you groan louder before rolling off the couch and walking over to the expectant rapper who already had her arms outstretched for you.
Lisa whined, both at you leaving and for taking the blanket with you before Jisoo came back with another blanket, tossing it at the pair while she took the beanbag, finding more comfort there whilst Jennie nuzzled her cheek against yours.
“Don’t look so glum, angel. At least you have me.” Jennie tells you and you roll your eyes playfully. “That’s exactly why I dislike the arrangement. You’re going to turn me deaf with all the screaming you’re going to do.” With a scoff, the older woman pinched your cheek while Jisoo laughed at your protests.
“Oh, Y/n, you never learn. Just because she calls you angel, doesn’t mean you are one.” The eldest teases when you’re finally released and allowed to tend to your poor cheek. “That’s just mean.” You whimpered pathetically, earning a snort from Lisa and a giggle from Chaeyoung while the woman next to you scoffed.
Jennie pouted at you before kissing the side of your face and then holding you close to her smaller frame. “Y/n is my angel and you’re just jealous because you want her, too.” She stated confidently, even adding a “Don’t even think about denying it, Lisa. I saw you sulking when she left the couch.” that caused the said girl to shut her mouth with a huff, cuddling further into her best friend.
“Okay, so maybe we do argue on who’s closest to Y/n but the only reason you think it’s you is because you’re always asking her to come to you and she’s too much of a wuss to say no.” Jisoo said with a wave of her hand and Jennie pouted as you stared at the eldest. “Yah! That’s not true!”
But she was already looking at you with her eyes squinted, a challenge already brewing in the air. “Alright, then come over here.” She tells you.
“Don’t you dare.” Jennie quickly tells you, a glare already fixed on your face. “Come on,  Y/n. You’re no wuss, right?” Jisoo was already smirking at you as you did your best to avoid looking at the rapper who had a vice like grip around your waist.
“This is only your excuse so unnie stays next to you and not any of us. Let her pick.” Chaeyoung soon came to your aid and you mentally thanked the girl for being your savior.
However her words don’t fully register until all four of them are staring at you.
“Okay. Y/n, why don’t you choose who you’re sitting next to?” Jisoo’s smirk had only widened when you  fidgeted in place. Lisa was grinning from ear to ear, even extending her arms out to you as though it was tempting enough to choose her while Jennie was already back to pouting as her arms squeezed around you while she cuddled your side.
And then, the woman who had brought you into this predicament was giving you a sweet smile that promised you that you wouldn’t regret your decision if you ever choose to sit by her instead because Chaeyoung loves to cuddle you and she will not hesitate to do so if you ever decide to stay with her.
Finally coming to a decision, you opened your mouth, only to close it shut when you hear the small voice of the girl next to you. “You know I’ll end up crying.” Jennie stared at you with big doe eyes and your heart stopped at the little whimper that came from her.
Instantly, whatever thoughts you previously had were thrown out the window as you wrapped your arms securely around the smaller woman. “Unnie, no, it’s gonna be okay. You don’t have to cry.”
There was a chorus of groans from all your members and Jennie, with her head resting on your chest, stuck her tongue out at them when you can’t see. “I told you!” Jisoo hollered as Lisa pouted. “That’s so not fair! You cheated!” She complained whilst the Aussie sighed while shaking her head. “I tried.”
“I wasn’t cheating! You all know I get scared easily!” The brunette shot back. “You guys know I hate it when at least one of you cry.” You tried to reason and Jennie nodded her head before giving you a big kiss on the cheek. “This is exactly why you’re my angel and not theirs.”
Chaeyoung pouts this time as she sat upright. “Hey, Y/n unnie is my angel, too. She was clearly going to choose me but she was too nice to let you be on your own.” She defended and then gave you a sweet smile. “You love me way more than Jennie unnie, right?”
Not only did she put you on the spot again, but she even had the audacity to look innocent while doing it.
“I love all of you equally, Chaeng.” You reply while your eyes narrowed at the mischievous little glint in her eyes. “But that’s not what you told me the other night when you slept in my room.”
“What?!”
“Excuse me?”
“You did what?”
Your eyes widened in time with the chorus of replies your other three members’ exclamation and Jennie even gave you a push so that she could see your face. “What is she talking about?”
“Yo! Since when did you sleep in Chaeyoung’s room?” Lisa yelled, flabbergasted. “I’d like to know, too. It’s usually us sneaking in your room, so I want to hear this story.” Jisoo said with a suspicious look on her face.
“It’s not what it looks like! We were literally just playing around and I certainly did not say I loved her more than any of you.” You try to explain, but none of them seemed so convinced by it. “Seriously, we were singing and dancing like idiots and then we just fell asleep. I was too tired to go to my own room!”
“I doubt that you saying you love her more was a lie.” Lisa cut in and you shake your head frantically. “I did say that I love her but I never said I love her more!”
“So you don’t love me?” The girl asked sadly and you shake your head, hands flailing in the air. “That’s not what I meant!” Jennie could already feel you trying to get up and if it weren’t for the slight twitch of Chaeyoung’s lips, she wouldn’t have caught on to her plan.
Her arms wrapped possessively around your waist and kept you still, even going so far as to throw a leg over your lap and glaring at your member. “How about we start the movie? Unless you wanna just keep talking, we can do that, too.”
Knowing that Lisa had been excited for this, the maknae ended up bouncing in her seat and then nodded her head, grinning as she turned her attention to the eldest. "Come on, unnie! Let's start it!"
Truthfully, you had no problems with horror movies, it was why Jennie always picked you to sit next to her because you comforted her whenever she did get scared. So you weren't worried about this one.
But seeing how well the cinematography and engagement the film had, it was enough to actually make you believe everything that was happening on screen. The many times Jennie screamed when something popped up on screen, you would flinch, though tighten your arms around the smaller girl as you both continued to watch, though her face was almost buried to your chest with how much she was cowering.
Leave it to Lisa with picking a horror movie.
But this movie was much scarier than the ones you’ve already seen. This was honestly something that made you feel frightened, probably because of the play with your own phobia, but in the end, you felt your throat dry and your heart was thundering in your chest.
When it was finally over and you all began to move around the room, you stayed seated for a while, a little dazed before Lisa noticed your slightly pale face. “Are you scared, Y/n?” She asked, mischief suddenly swimming in her eyes and you quickly look at her, eyes narrowing to mask the fact that you were terrified.
“No way! Since when has a horror movie scared me?” You scoff with your arms crossed across your chest. “Jennie unnie was the one who kept cowering next to me.” You added, earning a smack on the arm by said woman before Jisoo rolled her eyes and pinched your cheeks when she walked over.
But the Thai woman had yet to let up as she bounded over to you. “You know, if you’re scared, you don’t have to be so shy about it. Jennie unnie is older than three of us but she’s the biggest scaredy cat out there.” She grinned at the glare sent her way. “Don’t push it, Manoban, or else you won’t see your cats for a week.”
The threat to her precious babies caused her eyes to widen and a gasp to pass her lips. “You wouldn’t dare!”
“Try me.”
Chaeyoung giggled at the pair and you stood to finally stretch your limbs, but Jisoo had already gotten up at some point and gave you a small nudge from behind, causing for you to yelp before swiveling around to see what, or who, had touched you, only to find the devious grin on your eldest member’s face.
“What are you doing?” You ask while trying to keep a level head and your friend shrugged her shoulders, clearly not buying that you weren’t scared. “I just wanted to be close to you, is that so bad?” She teased and you give her a light smack on the arm. “Very funny.”
Chaeyoung yawned as she stood up and then proceeded to head for her room while Lisa and Jennie were still arguing about Lisa’s cats, which turned into her threatening to hide the latter’s favorite shirts.
You moved past the bickering duo and head to your room with a yawn of your own, but as you reached your door, you had to pause as your hand rested on the knob, hesitant before you looked around and then cautiously stepped into your room.
With the movie fresh in your mind, you had a hard time getting ready for bed, washing your face and brushing your teeth, your eyes darted everywhere up until you got in bed, making sure to shut your bathroom and then shutting the windows and covering it with your curtains.
“Come on, it was just a movie, Y/n, nothing to be so scared about.” You mutter to yourself while holding your blanket tight around yourself. But you couldn’t bring it in to you to turn the desk lamp off, refusing to let your room be swallowed in darkness with the potential of-
A loud thud causes you to yelp when your door bursts open, eliciting a scream to come from your lips as Lisa came tumbling in after running away from Jennie’s wrath.
“Sorry!” The taller girl squeaked before her eyes widened to see your cowering figure on the bed, wrapped in a blanket and trembling like a scared puppy, making the maknae pout before she came to your bed. “Lisa! Get out of Y/n’s room!”
“No thanks unnie! I think I’ll sleep better after that movie with Y/n unnie next to me.” The blonde replied when she got a proper look on your face, her own expression softening before she got on the bed with you and wrapped her long and slender arms around your waist.
“I swear, you won’t see your cats in the morning.” But Lisa knew that Jennie wouldn’t dare touch her babies. They meant too much to the younger girl and Jennie wouldn’t have the heart to do anything to them.
Looking up, you tried to make a sound of protest, but the sound of a door closing had caused you to flinch and Lisa pursed her lips before she gave you a small squeeze. “It’s okay, unnie. I’ve got you.”
Typically, she would be teasing you for being as scared as you were. But Lisa knew that you didn’t get scared when it came to movies, so to see you looking so spooked told her that you wouldn’t appreciate being laughed at right now.
With a smile, she gave you a light kiss on the cheek before cuddling you. “I won’t tell them. I’ll be here so you don’t feel scared and we can keep the light on if that helps, too.” You were thankful towards the younger girl and nodded your head, burying your face into her neck and making her smlie widen.
Being the youngest, she’s used to being babied by you and the others, but she was happy that she could comfort you just the same and that you really did trust them enough to see you so vulnerable like this.
But that didn’t mean she wouldn’t bring the topic up for when you were feeling better enough to talk about it.

Here, my dear, is the sum of the fic as it exists in its 9k glory. Fun fact Edgeworth's pov is 11k so far. Omegaverse au - Wrightworth. Currently Teen and Up rating.
“Why do you two insist on doing that?”
“Cause it’s fun!” Larry laughed above him, rolling off of him and onto the playgrounds woodchips when he pushed him.
Miles slid off the jungle gym he’d been observing them from. Offered his hand to help him up.
He took it and let him pull him up. “It is! You should try it!”
“No thank you.” Miles swept his hands over Phoenix’s shirt, dislodging some of the dirt. Not that it made a huge difference. It was just a t-shirt after all.
“Come on Edgey!” Larry wrapped an arm around his neck, leaning heavily on him. “I’ll even go easy on you if you want! Or are you just scared you’ll mess up your fancy clothes?”
His cheeks flushed red as he stammered out a protest, picking a chip from Larry’s hair. “I just don’t see the point of rolling in the dirt!”
Larry laughed. Crowed like a chicken, grinning as Miles face grew hotter and hotter. He never knew if Miles would cry or get angry. He wasn’t sure if Miles knew either right until the moment the emotion burst from him.
So he did what any reasonable nine year old would do: tackled Larry to the ground. “You’re upsetting him!” Larry just laughed as they twisted and wrestled, having achieved exactly what he wanted.
Larry pinned him again- it was unfair how much better at this Larry was. He wiggled and tried to dislodge him but Larry remained firmly atop his stomach, grinning.
He sighed and dropped his head back. Another loss to Larry Butz. Miles was staring at him from his playground perch. A goofy smile started on his face.
Miles tilted his head just a hair smiled, one of his tiny rare smiles, right back.
It didn’t feel quite so much like losing then.
“First!” Larry posed his hands on hips and puffed out his chest. “We’re going to build a pillow fort!”
Miles held the remote, not turning the television on yet but clearly posed to if Larry responded poorly. “Why?”
“Because I have it on good authority this movie’s real scary!” Half his mouth pulled upward in pride at his secret knowledge. He jabbed a finger at Phoenix. “And we don’t want the scaredy cat making us go home early!”
“Hey!”
Miles set the remote carefully down on the table and nodded. “Alright. What do we do?”
At Larry’s direction, they made one. It was remarkably well made and comfortable inside. They laid on the carpeted floor on top of a blanket and pillows and peered up at the screen from under the fabric canopy.
Larry and him yelped and jumped back into the fort. Clinging to each other. Listening to the clashing of swords and tense music.
Miles stayed. Eye’s trained on the screen.
He inched forward. Larry clung to him, eyes squeezed tight. He didn’t move far enough to see the screen. "Are they winning?” He whispered weakly.
Miles face was tense but unwavering. “No.” He did not look away. He squeezed the pillow tighter against his chest. “They’re not.”
He reached out and took one of Miles clenched hands in his. It was shaking. He squeezed it. “Not yet.”
Miles squeezed back. “Not yet.”
Miles was more than happy to outline the entire fight in dramatic hand motion for them once the movie was over.
“Bedtime boys.”
“Okay Mom!”
Larry climbed out of the fort and stretched his arms up into the air. He followed after.
Miles didn’t follow them out. “Can we sleep in here tonight?”
“You scared Edgey?” Larry grinned sleepily.
“No.” It wasn’t the sharp no that really meant yeah. It was just a no. “It’s just. Nice.” His cheeks flushed.
“We could drag one of the futons in and sleep on that!” He proposed.
“Yeah.” Larry yawned. “Okay.”
It was way too small for the three of them. Mostly cause Larry spread out like a starfish and took up half the bed.
Miles curled up on the opposite side, his back pressed into the couch. Rubbed his cheek against the soft fleece blanket.
Phoenix flopped down next to him, sharing the same un-Larry filled third. “I don’t want Larry to kick me again.” He explained, hoping Miles wasn’t annoyed at how close they were. Their hands were almost touching.
He just made a happy noise and sank heavy into the pillow.
It was nice in here.
The first boom of thunder had him jumping out of his skin.
The second and he was running back into the building.
He did not like Thunder. Hated how loud it was and how it rumbled and it – it – it.
It was scary.
“Phoenix!” His wrist was trapped in Miles firm grip. Yanking him to a halt. “Where are you going?”
He couldn’t swallow the yelp at the next boom or the way his shoulders drew up to his ears while he desperately covered them.
He held his breath. Unable to breath in or out.
Miles tugged him forward. Pulled him down onto one of the library’s bean bag chairs shoved into the corner of the kids section.
He pulled his knees to his chest and pressed his hands tighter against his skull.
The chair shifted as Miles curled up next to him, shoulder to shoulder.
“Um. We can wait here until it stops. I don’t think my umbrella would work right now anyway.”
He nodded into his knees and tried to hide the tears that were escaping.
“Do you…” The fabric of Miles jacket shifted over his arm. “Want a hug?”
He nodded. An arm wrapped around his back and squeezed his shoulder.
He twisted and buried his face in Miles shoulder. Clinging to the soft cotton of his buttoned shirt. Trying to swallow the sobs.
He really didn’t like thunderstorms.
Miles hands slowly came up and held him. Cradling him to his chest.
He choked on a wobbly inhale and cuddled in tighter.
“Do you want me to read something?” One hand disappeared and the zipper of his bag sounded.
“S-sure.”
Miles read quietly to him, chin hooked over his shoulder. The soft cadence of his voice easing the mountain of tension from his shoulders. He snuffled trying to keep his nose from running. Miles just handed him a tissue without pausing.
His nose honked loudly when he blew it and that did make Miles pause to glare at him. He just smiled sheepishly in return.
He didn’t need to stay in Miles lap. He should probably get up and move next to him. But he didn’t want to. And Miles didn’t ask him to. Hummed warmly when he tucked his head back into his shoulder.
“You smell nice.” He nuzzled against the collar of his shirt and the bowtie there.
He did. He couldn’t put his finger on what he smelled like but it felt the same way blankets pulled warm from a dryer did. Warm. Comforting. Soothing.
The pounding rain and even the occasional boom of thunder was muted by that gentle warmth wrapped around him
He didn’t even notice when he drifted off to sleep.
Not until a librarian was shaking them awake a while later, worry and amusement lining the soft lines her face.
“Mmghn.” He moved the horsy again. “Can we do something else?”
“Like what?” Miles moved the castle.
Rain beat against the window. Rattling it. He moved a pawn. What a waste of their day off. Trapped inside by a storm.
He bet Larry was having fun. Or maybe he was just trapped in a hotel room with the rest of his family.
He flopped back on the bed. He heard the pieces rattle. Miles made an annoyed sound so some of them must have fallen. “I don’t know.”
He grumbled and picked the board up. Set it on his desk. “You didn’t have a better idea!”
“I didn’t think chess would be boring! You made it sound fun!”
“It is fun.”
He put his hands behind his head and stared up at the ceiling. It didn’t seem that fun to him. “We could play signal samurai?”
“Without Larry?”
He had a point.
“Your Game Boy?”
“The batteries are just as dead as the last time you asked.” He crossed his arms and frowned at the window. “And we’re not going out for replacements in this.”
“Courthouse?”
“Still a person short. Who would we defend?”
“Uh… Rescue?”
Miles shook his head. “All our games are for three people.”
He sat up. “I don’t see you suggesting anything!”
“I suggested chess but you don’t want to play that!”
“… Then if I suggest a two person game you’ll try it? Even if you don’t think you’ll like it? Cause I tried chess!” He pointed out.
Miles narrowed his eyes. “… Fine.”
He grinned and jumped to the edge of the bed. “Great! Then we’re wrestling!”
“What?! No!”
“You said you’d try it!”
“But- But…” His eyes flickered around the room. To the floor. “We’ll get hurt on the wood.”
“We’ll play on the bed!”
“We’ll hit the wall! Fall!”
He looked back at it. “We can put cushions up!” Miles stared down at the floor. Sour expression. “Come on! You promised you’d try.”
That got him a glare. “I didn’t promise.” The scowl deepened. “Fine.”
He’d stalked out of the room before he realized Miles had agreed.
He dashed after him.
Miles pulled the cushions off the couch and some spare blankets from a closet. Shoved them into his hands and grabbed some more.
Miles frowned when they reentered the room. Climbed up on the bed and shoved the cushions between the wall. Took the blankets and bunched them out on the edges of the bed. Shoved the pillows against the headboard. Sat in the center of the bed considering it.
“Good enough?”
His scowl deepened but he didn’t rearrange anything.
“Good enough!” He decided, tackling Miles.
It got him a yelp. Miles wiggled in his grip and they twisted and rolled on the bed until he let Miles pin him.
He grinned up. Miles sat on his heels and huffed. “There. I win?”
Miles hair was all rumpled and out of place. He was always so careful about his appearance. It was nice to see him rumpled.
His smile just got bigger. “Sure. You win.” Nodded. “Round one.”
He lunged upward and flipped Miles onto his back.
Miles blinked up at him. He pressed down on his shoulders waiting for Miles to try and throw him off.
Miles stared at him. Reached up and-
Rearranged his hair. Carded through his spikes.
“Your hair got messed up.”
That wasn’t how this game was supposed to go.
But…
He leaned into the motion. A purr starting.
He drifted so far into the motion he fell over. Off to the side.
Miles propped himself on his elbow. Staring at him.
“Does that mean I win again?”
“I pinned you!”
He stifled a yawn. “Tie game then?”
“Okay.” He looked at the spare blankets on the side and the raised sides the couch cushions made. “Wanna build a fort?”
Miles eyes lit up almost like they did when he talked about law.
He dragged one of the blankets up and shoved one end behind the cushion, making a little triangle tent. Larry would have made something better. He knew how to make the best pillow forts.
Miles eyes shone. He stared up at the fuzzy ceiling. Reached up and pet the fleece. His chest didn’t rumble but it stuttered a quite purr.
Miles liked it. He did good.
His chest swelled with happy. His purr making him unsteady with its unintentional volume.
Miles was staring at him and his face was heating up but it wouldn’t stop. He covered his face with his hands.
“Do you… want to read?”
He nodded. Listened to Miles shuffle out. Come back with a stack of books. He grabbed one off the top and buried his face in it.
Miles scooted next to him. Shoulder to shoulder. Opened up a large tome.
A few chapters later there was a heavy weight on his shoulder. Miles. Sleeping. Small contented noises escaping.
He rested his cheek on the crown of his head. Miles smelled nice.
He closed his eyes to the sound of beating rain and Miles soft breathing.
Blinked blearily awake to Mr. Edgeworth’s soft chuckling. “Time to eat boys.”
He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and they climbed out together.
And then Miles was gone.
He showed Larry the heart shaped necklace. Recounted the entire tale with waving hands and hearts in his eyes. They were Soulmates. Maybe even True mates. Fairy tale or not - he just landed in one.
“Sounds like one hella cute omega.” Larry grinned up at him.
“Hey!” He smacked his shoulder. “I didn’t say she was an omega!”
Larry snorted and rolled onto his back. Stinking up his bed with his stupid alpha scent. “You alwaysfall for omegas Nicky.”
“No I don’t!”
“Yeah you do! Your nose is just too shit to realize!”
He growled. “My nose is not shit!”
Larry sat up. Pointed at him. “Twenty bucks says she’s an omega just like every other chick you’ve had a crush on.”
“Hey you can’t prove that!”
He started listing off names. His face heated.
Pointed his objection. “Racheal wasn’t an omega!”
“Dude. Bro. My man.” Larry clapped his shoulder. Eyes pitying. “She totally was. She just used a shit ton of blockers. An omega gives you the time of day and you’re done. You’ve always been like that.”
“Oh yeah?” He was three seconds from yanking him to the floor for a tousle on the rug.
“Yeah. Even before we presented. I mean, Lucy, Lucia, Matilda, Samantha-”
“Stop!” He shoved his face into his knees and covered his ears. “Lucy transferred! That one’s not even fair!”
He laughed that annoying Larry laugh. “She was totally going to present as an omega dude!”
“You can’t just assume!”
“It was so obvious though. She was an omega, we were going to be alphas. It was practically carved into grade school stone.”
“You can’t tell until someone presents. You’re not a doctor Larry.” You weren’t even a high school grad.
“PFT. You know for someone so smart you’re really dumb sometimes.” Larry kicked his leg. “You don’t present out of nowhere. Those instincts are always there. You’re just too dumb to look.”
“I’m not dumb!”
“Twenty bucks your girlfriends an omega!”
“You’re on!”
He smacked the twenty into Larry’s waiting hand. “Shut up.” He growled. “It’s not like you’re any better.”
He smirked. Waving the bill and shaking his head. “Unlike you, my hearts not so fickle as to limit itself to omegas. Any beautiful lady can steal my heart!”
Yeah that sure seems true. You tried to date every girl in our high school class.
“Why I’ll have you know Clary is an Alpha! She pinned me last week and I’ve never been more in love!” His eyes filled with tears. “We’re gonna be together forever!”
“Sure Larry. Sure.”
“You swallowed glass?”
He curled into his bed and pillow. There were still whiffs of her left.
She’d tried to kill him. She said she hated him.
Why do you think she’s actually been dating you all this time?
“Shut up Larry.”
“You wanna fight? I mean you have to be pissed right?”
He pressed the pillow harder to his face.
“… Yeah alright.” The bed creaked and Warmth pressed into his back as Larry laid down behind him. “Glad you didn’t die bro. I always knew that omega was shit.”
“Did you?”
Come on Wright. It’s obvious she’s just using you. You were just the perfect rube.
An arm wrapped around his waist. Larry’s head pressed against the back of his neck.
“… Nah man. She always seemed really nice.”
By the time Edgeworth joined them for the celebratory party Larry was already several drinks ahead of everyone else. Edgeworth eyed him worriedly.
“Come on.” He slid his beer over to Edgeworth and aimed for a reassuring smile. “You’re a free man now. You could stand to relax and enjoy it a little.”
He slowly reached out and took the drink. Cheeks still flush from the December air outside. “Right.”
He grinned and it felt very silly in his cheeks. That only made him grin more. Scooting closer to him at the bar. “That’s my name!”
Edgeworth’s sharp eyes glared at him over the rim of the glass. “How many have you had Wright?”
He drifted closer. Elbow supporting him on the bar as he gazed upward at Miles. At his eyes that liked to hide behind his bangs. One of the ceiling lamps haloed his hair and made it shine. “Not that many.”
Miles didn’t pull away. Didn’t shove him away. Just stared right back. Like a painting. The amber liquid held in his hand. Maybe he could pull out those old paintbrushes and capture the image forever.
“Edgey!” Larry’s arms wrapped around Miles neck. Yanking him slightly off kilter. The beer sloshed in his glass. “There you are! We’ve been waiting for you!”
A tiny rumble of annoyance escaped the prosecutor. He shoved Larry slightly, elbowing him. “That’s a blatant lie.”
“Haha yeah. But you know I saved you yesterday so I think you owe me!”
“I think you’re more than adequately intoxicated.”
“I’m fine!” He whined, nuzzling against the increasingly irate Miles. “No fair Edgey, help a brother out!”
“You’re more than capable of making a spectacle of yourself without my help Larry.”
Larry stopped rubbing his face against Miles suit jacket, brow drawn together in a brief moment of something. Which was good because he knew firsthand how irritating that felt. Stupid facial hair. He was half tempted to yank Larry off him just for the sake of keeping the peace.
He reached over to do exactly that. “He said no Larry, come on.” He really needed to learn boundaries. Like don’t touch Miles.
He wanted to growl it.
Larry tightened his grip and hooked his chin over Miles shoulder. Eyes unfocused and staring at the bar wall.
“Yeah yeah fine. You can repay me by drive me home then.”
Miles shoulders drew up. “If you think I’m letting you into my car-“
Larry whispered right into his ear. Over the drone of the bar he couldn’t make it out.
His shoulders tensed impossibly tighter. His face turned further away. Considering Larry. The soft pink flush of his cheeks draining away.
The glass connected harshly with the bar and he stood. Larry sticking like a leach to his back. “Fine.”
“Wha” He stood just as suddenly. Reaching out to grab his sleeve. “But you just got here!” His hand wrapping around Mile’s wrist. “Just call him a cab!”
Miles stared at the point of connection. His hand wrapped around his wrist. For one heartbeat.
Two.
Three.
“Edgey…”
He pulled his wrist free. Rubbing it with his free hand. He hadn’t been holding it that tightly. He didn’t look at Phoenix. “He’ll just get into more trouble if we do that. Excuse us.” He bowed slightly, which seemed difficult to do with Larry the leach and turned. Walked out of the bar.
He took the discarded drink back and grumbled. It wasn’t fair of Larry to kidnap Miles like that.
He paused halfway through an irritated sip to wonder when Edgeworth had become Miles again.
He couldn’t find his suit jacket before he biked after Maya. It was probably just hidden somewhere under the piles of cans and take out containers strewn about the office. He was in a rush. He didn’t have time to look.
It was weirder that it didn’t show up after he’d finished cleaning.
… Well hopefully he wouldn’t need to go to court until it turned up. He didn’t need to add a new jacket to his expenses.
It showed up a week later in the arms of a faux apologetic Larry.
He snatched it back. “I was THIS close to buying a new one Larry! Of course it was you. It’s always you!”
“Hey man that hurts! And I swear it was for a good cause!”
“Oh yeah? And what was that?”
Larry looked away. Rubbed the back of his head. “Uhhh. To help out a friend.” Sure Larry.
“Which friend?’
His eyes stayed trained on the wall. Sweat starting. “You don’t know em.” He lied. Like a liar.
“And how did my jacket help them?”
“That’s not important.”
He growled. “Larry…”
“Anyway! It’s been dry cleaned so you’re not even allowed to get mad! It’s totally fine!”
“I should be getting mad!?” What the hell did you do to my suit jacket?!
“NO!”
He tackled him. Pinning him to the ground. “Larry-”
Was pinned to the ground a moment later. Larry’s weight distributed so efficiently he could hardly wiggle. Arms held firmly to the floor above him.
“Why are you still so much better at this than me?!” He demanded trying to break free.
He grinned that stupid guileless grin. “I win. So now you have to forgive me!”
“Tell me what I’m forgiving you for!”
“Taking your jacket. Obviously.”
“WHY!?” He crunched. Arms lifting an inch off the ground. Larry’s balance shifted slightly and-
He was pinned back to the ground.
“Nuh uh. Losers don’t get to make demands.” Shook his head. “It was for a good cause Nicky. I swear. Your sacrifice really helped out a friend in need.”
“…” He let the tension drain from his arms. “You’re not lying to me?”
Larry let his wrists go and leaned back on his heels. Crossed his heart with his hands. “Edgey boy levels of honesty.” He smiled. Sleeves slipping over his hands. “Besides I smelled that thing when I took it. You should be thanking me. I’m the reason it finally got cleaned!”
He lunged upward for round two.
Every time Ema and him entered Edgeworth’s office he felt a little more trapped. On edge. Desperate. Like he needed to do something. Fight someone. Not Edgeworth. Never Edgeworth. But someone.
Edgeworth he wanted to pin to the ground. Squish into the pink sofa until all the pain left him. Until he was asleep and content in his arms. Until things were all right again.
This case just kept getting worse and worse for him.
“Mr. Wright…” They waited for the elevator. She worried a shape into the pad of her notebook. “Is Mr. Edgeworth going to be alright?”
A letter of resignation.
“His office. It just smelled so…”
Larry said he had a bad nose. Maybe if he had a good one he’d be able to identify what it was.
His gut was a tight ball. His hands clenched in his pockets.
Just because he couldn’t smell it didn’t mean he didn’t feel it.
“Let’s just focus on the case for now.”
“R-right.”
A note on a desk.
“No.” No. He spun around- ready to lash out. To draw blood. This room- this room-
Gumshoe pulled him into his coat and arms. “I’m sorry pal.”
“No.” His fingers dug into the older Alpha’s shirt. Nails pulling the fabric apart at the seams. “No. I was supposed to save him.”
Gumshoes arms held him tighter. Chest roaring with the mountain of distress. “That’s not how it works pal.”
He buried his tears into Detective Gumshoe’s painful purr.
Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death.
“Nick.”
He didn’t need a good nose to know she was upset.
He wrapped his arms around her. Rubbed his cheek against the base of her neck. She pressed her head up into his hair.
“It’s going to be okay Maya. I got this.”
A high pitched noise. “I knew you were special someone’s!”
Maya pulled away, turning to Pearl. “Pearly that’s not!”
“It’s really not.” Way to make this weird.
“It’s time.” A bailiff told them.
“Come on. We’ve got this.”
Franziska didn’t even have the politeness to pretend to apply scent blockers. No. She let her Alpha rage roll off her like ocean waves.
The courtroom isn’t your personal battlefield Von Karma.
Grow up or Get out.
Honestly, she was just making the rest of them look bad. Playing into every angry alpha stereotype.
Of course she had a whip. Of course. Wasn’t that just perfect?
Maya was gone. Maya was gone.
In the hands of an assassin.
He coated on scent blocker. Closed his shaking hands into fists and did what needed to be done.
Go get Matt Engarde a full acquittal.
How dare you come back. How dare you.
“Franziska-” Edgeworth reached out his hand to her. She watched it. Flinched away.
No blockers meant even he could read her.
Anger. Anger and distress. Distress.
Edgeworth wanted to comfort her.
She snatched the tulips from his hands. “I think visiting hours are over.” Retreated.
Edgeworth’s hand stayed aloft for a moment more. Fell.
“Wright. Tell me what’s going on. You clearly didn’t want trial to be adjourned today.”
“Wright.” He jolted. Head jerking to Edgeworth. What was?
“What are you doing here? You left… hours ago.”
He was collapsed in a chair. Pearl, sleeping between his lap and a second chair pulled up next to him. He wanted to look at Edgeworth but his eyes kept drifting back to Maya. Where she and Larry and Lotta and Gumshoe were dancing across the Gatewater floor.
“Yes. I… Managed to catch up with Franziska. Thank you for giving me her whip.”
“Oh that’s…” This thumb drew small circles on Pearl’s shoulder. Maya beamed as Larry twirled her. Safe. Safe. They were safe. “Good.”
“Wright.” There was a hand on his shoulder. He should jerk away from it or lean into it or something. But all he could do was watch Maya. “My room’s a double.”
“Good for you.”
The hand stayed for a few moments more. “I’ll tell Maya it’s time for bed.” The hand went away. His shoulder was cold.
He kept drawing little circles on Pearl’s shoulder.
Edgeworth moved out into the small cluster of people. Maya grinned and grabbed his hand. Spinning around him with that brilliantly bright smile of hers.
Edgeworth let her but he could see his mouth moving. Maya looked over to him. Waved. His arms were leaden exhaustion but he raised one to weakly wave back anyway.
She turned back to Edgeworth. Spoke animatedly. Punched him in the shoulder.
Began skipping over. Edgeworth slowly trailing behind.
“Nick! Guess what!”
“Hm?”
“Edgeworth said we can stay in his room! We get to stay here! In the crazy nice hotel!”
“The office is literally next door.”
“A mattress! With like thousand count sheets! Instead of that busted old couch! Come on Nick!”
“The couch isn’t busted.” Edgeworth leaned down to touch Pearl- pick her up probably.
He growled.
Maya’s eyes went wide. He covered his bared teeth. Edgeworth stopped and watched him.
“Sorry.”
Miles levered himself back to standing. Pushing up on his knees. “Come on Wright. Time for bed.”
The bags under his eyes had a physical weight to them. He tried to pick Pearl up without waking her. She made a small sound and cuddled into his shoulder. Dragged his body upward. To standing.
Maya tucked herself into his side. He put his arm around her shoulder. Tried not to make obvious how much he was leaning on her for support.
Edgeworth held open the door for them. Maya barreled in. Belly flopping onto the mattress. Rubbing her face all over the blankets as she rolled in them.
“Nick these are SO nice!”
The door closed behind Edgeworth. He heard the lock softly click. Watched Edgeworth slide the gold door chain lock into place. Step back. He stared at the lock for a few moments more.
Was that really enough? What if someone came in and took Maya again? Or Pearl this time? That tiny chain wouldn’t stop anyone. There had to be something more he could do-
“Wright.” Edgeworth. “We can put a chair in front, if it would make you feel better.”
Stupid Alpha. It’s fine.
He nodded anyway.
“AH HA!” Maya triumphantly announced. “The nest is done! Give me Pearly Nick!”
She’d already rearranged the blankets and pillows into a small nest pressed against the headboard. He walked over and handed Pearl, who blinked awake briefly as they passed her, over the fabric walls of the nest.
Maya curled around her. Wrapping Pearl up in her scent. Safe. They were safe.
Edgeworth jammed the door with a chair. He paced the outline of the room. Listened to Maya and Pearl purr.
Safe. They were safe.
The water turned on briefly in the bathroom. The purring began to stutter and fault as they fell asleep.
He paced the length of the room.
The bathroom door opened. Edgeworth stepped out in a set of pink pajamas. Neck bare. Some other night he would have enjoyed that.
“You’re going to wear a tread into the carpet.” He warned. Watching him pace. Back and forth. “Either get in the nest with them or lay down.”
“I can’t.” I have to protect them.
Stupid stupid alpha. They’re fine.
“Wright.” Edgeworth cut his path off. A hand pressing into his chest. “Your pack is safe. Close your eyes and breathe in.” He ordered.
He resisted. For a moment. Edgeworth’s face, as hard as always, did not waver.
He closed his eyes and breathed.
Maya. Pearl. Contentment.
Safe.
He fell forward into Edgeworth. The man effortlessly supported his weight.
It was faint under the fresh change of clothes and whatever blocker it was he used. But it was still there. That scent like warm blankets fresh from the dryer.
“At least get in the bed before you collapse on me.” He complained, maneuvering them to the spare bed.
“I’m still mad at you.” He mumbled into his shoulder. They flopped down onto covers. He stayed half on top. One leg slotted between Miles’. Nose pressed to his beautifully bare neck.
“Save that for tomorrow morning.” A hand was carding through his hair. A quiet rumble pushing up through Miles chest into his. “For now, just rest.”
Finally. He slept.
He woke up alone. Well. Not alone. Maya and Pearl slept on in the bed next to him. But Edgeworth was gone.
He listened to the shower run.
Here. Not totally gone.
He burrowed further into the blankets and tried not to growl.
Couldn’t even let me have this Edgeworth? Couldn’t even let me have one morning where I wake up with you in my arms and knew for sure that you’re safe and alive?
He buried his face in the stupid pillows. Chased after that barely there scent.
Asshole.
The second time he woke up the room smelled like breakfast. To Maya jumping right onto him.
“Breakfast! Room service! Nick!”
“Ooof!’ He groaned in protest. “Ooow. Get off me!”
She laughed and scrambled off him. Towards the small table lined with food.
Edgeworth sat on the couch. No bed head in sight. Brushing Pearls hair as she ate.
Your pack is safe.
“Wright you should hurry if you want breakfast. I doubt Maya has any qualms about cleaning the remaining plates.”
“I do not!”
He rolled out of bed with a groan and shuffled over to the table.
“If you’re trying to bribe your way to forgiveness,” He took a bite of the quiche. Stopped. Savored it. That was good. “… It won’t work.” He finished, far less certain than when he’d began.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Stood. Grabbed a pastry. Stared at him as he shoved another bite in.
“… What?”
“Don’t talk with your mouth full.” He scolded. His hand came up. Carded through his limp spikes. Arranging them back into position.
He froze. Stuck between irritation and the almost overwhelming urge to lean in.
The hand disappeared. Taking jacket on the chair behind him and pulling it on.
“Have a good day.”
“You’re going to work?!”
He glanced back over his shoulder at them. One eyebrow raised. “Yes?”
“… Have a good day.”
There were phone calls across the ocean. He’d drift off to the sounds of Miles readying for the day.
“When are you coming home?” He mumbled, half asleep into his pillow. Listening to Miles put on his cravat for a new day.
He imagined instead he was listening to Miles take it off. Neck bare. So he could lay down in the bed next to him. Warm, sleepy and he’d snuggle into the softest fleece. Purring.
“… Do you need me to?” Was the soft reply. The rustling halting.
“I miss you.”
“… I miss you too.”
It wasn’t just that Iris looked so familiar. It wasn’t just that she felt familiar.
She smelled familiar too. Like that sweet omega he’d loved.
That had betrayed him.
Her hood. It smelled just like her. He pressed the cloth to his nose and inhaled it.
Really it just made everything that much more confusing.
“Wright.”
Edgeworth?
“You’re alive.”
At the door to his hospital room stood a man in a rumpled jacket with deep bruises under his eyes. Ruffles disheveledly ruffled around his neck.
Edgeworth.
“Yeah I’m,” A cough interrupted him. “Not that easy to get rid of.”
The chair next to his bed was pulled out. Edgeworth did not sit perfectly straight in it. His elbows rested on his knees and he leaned in close.
“Larry said you fell off a bridge and drowned.” A low rumble- a growl? Nah. Edgeworth wouldn’t growl. That’d be improper. He giggled at the notion. “I’m going to strangle that man with his own sleeves.”
“No that parts true.” Edgeworth looked upset. “It was only a little on fire.”
Because there hadn’t been much bridge left.
Edgeworth got even paler. He didn’t think his reassurance worked.
“Why would you-” There was a strangled sound.
The bridge.
Maya!
“Maya! She’s still trapped over there!” How had he forgotten? She was trapped over there and it was so cold out and they didn’t have food and- “I have to go help her!” He started to untangle himself from the stupid tangle of blankets.
“I’ll make sure it’s handled Wright.” A hand was on his shoulder. Slowing him down. “Lay down.”
He believed him. Let that hand start guiding him back down when. “Iris.”
“What?”
He twisted towards his laptop. “Iris. She not. I know she didn’t do it. I have to-“ Something stuck in his throat as he twisted and that urge to cough became unbearable. He curled forward and hacked. Coughing and coughing and coughing and he couldn’t stop to breathe in and when he tried there was something there and no air would come in and he was so scared he wouldn’t be able to and Maya and Iris and poor little Pearl-
The bed creaked but he only felt it depress under him over the sound of his own coughing. Warmth blanketed his back and then the rumbling started. Deep and strong it vibrated through the whole of his chest.
He hacked once more and something dislodged. Inhaled. Fresh air filled his burning lungs. He coughed a few more times and tasted slimy mucus on the back of his tongue.
“Ew.” He complained, hand blindly searching for the tissues.
One appeared in his hand and he spit the snot into it. The rumbling did not stop and he eased back into it.
Edgeworth’s arms were wrapped around his chest. His legs splayed out on either side of the bed. His chest was warm and vrring soothingly like hum of a car engine.
He leaned back into it and tucked his forehead into the junction of Miles jaw and neck. Shivering despite the blankets and hood. Despite his warmth.
“I can’t smell you.” He whined. Nose clogged. “You used to smell so good.” Like. Like blankets still warm from the dryer. He wanted burrow into them and wrap himself up in that scent.
“Used to huh?” The motor slowed to half a hum.
“Noooo. Don’t stop. It helps.” He could breathe. The urge to hack out a lung made distant by Miles soft engine.
“Ngh.” The vibration stuttered and restarted.
He drifted there. Tucked into Miles shoulder. Drifting back towards sleep.
“Iris.” He snapped open his eyes and grabbed for the laptop again. “I need-“
Miles pinned him back to his chest with one firm hand. “To sleep.”
“No- No she’s innocent. I know she didn’t do it. I have to. I have to clear her name.”
“Well you’re not going anywhere in this condition Wright.”
Gods. He just need a second body. One that wasn’t ill. That could go investigate for him.
Oh. He had an idea.
“Miles.” The rumbling stuttered and then roared and he could physically feel the sound vibrating through their chests. He tried to angle his head to look at Edgeworth but he’d bowed it and his face was hidden by a curtain of hair. “I need a favor.”
“What now Wright?”
He reached over to the side table again but grabbed something else instead.
“Take this?”
One of the hands around his chest released, palm up.
He set the golden defense attorney’s badge in it.
“W- and do what with this?”
“The rumbles!” He complained about their sudden stopping.
“No I’m not going to purr myself into being alright with this- I’m a prosecutor not a defense attorney!”
“Yeah. I know. A brilliant one. Please. I need you to defend Iris for me.”
“I can hire someone to defend her for you but I can’t just-“
“NO! It has to be you!” He tried to twist in Edgeworth’s grip to plead with him directly. The grip around his ribs tightened. Making it impossible. “You care about stuff. Please. You’re the only one I’d trust with this.”
Miles head tucked into the crook of his neck. His arms shaking.
“I know you can do this. Please Miles.”
His hand closed around the badge and the rest was history.
“Wooh bro you should lay back down.”
He glared at Larry – Laurice – from where he’d fallen from the bed.
Okay so he wasn’t quite as stable as he thought yet. But he was good enough. He could go investigate.
Larry picked him up by the armpits and dragged him back off the floor onto the mattress. “Just let Edgey handle it. Your mate did great today!” Thumbs up.
“My what?! Larry! We’re not!” His face was definitely bright red and not from the lingering fever.
Larry blinked at him. Tilted his head and crossed his arms. “You sure man? Cause you smell hella claimed.”
“Don’t you think I’d know if we were?” (Besides how would we? He keeps running away.)
“Hmm, I don’t know. You’re not always the brightest bulb in the six pack.”
(What does that even mean? And I don’t want to hear that coming from you!)
“I mean he flew halfway around the world to check on you.”
“What? No he said he was already here for work.”
Pity. Why was Larry looking at him with pity?
“Well whatever cuddle party you two had,” He interjected. “That was just because I couldn’t breathe!” Larry ignored him. “You stink. You’re all sickness and distressed omega. You need a shower.”
“I’m not an omega.”
“Didn’t say you were bro.”
The shower was nice. He felt significantly more human after. The steam even cleared his nose for a bit.
It clogged back up by the time he finished getting dressed but it had been nice to breathe clearly while it lasted.
“How could I have done that..?”
Still beating himself up over letting Iris run away during the earthquake it seemed.
“Edgeworth?”
“Aaah!” He jumped and turned like he was going to make a break for it over the fence.
“Hey! Don’t you dare run away!”
He was so sick of Miles running.
He grit his teeth. Held himself. But turned back to him all the same.
“What do you want Wright?”
“What do I want?”
“If you came here to laugh at me, then get on with it. Go on. Laugh.”
(Edgeworth…)
He sighed.
Pulled his hands out of his jacket.
“Fine.” He stepped forward. The snow crunched under his feet. “Come here.”
Miles was nothing but sharp edges and tension when he wrapped his arms around him.
“W-what are you…?”
“You’re stronger than you think. So stop it with all the self-pity okay?”
Between the frigid cold and the cold he still couldn’t smell anything. But he didn’t have to have a working nose to soothe with his own scent. You’re Safe. Loved. Protected.
He wasn’t sure it was working.
Not until Miles melted like spring snow into his arms. Nose tucked into the space between his jacket and scarf.
“I’m sorry for letting her get away.”
“You don’t need to apologize.” He ran his fingers through the soft strands of his grey hair.
“I’m still sorry.”
“Then you’re forgiven.”
Miles sighed into his jacket. Squeezed him back. “You’re ridiculous Wright.”
“… You went back to the criminal affairs department right? Because you wanted to look into something about Iris?”
His jacket was released and both stepped back. Not that he wanted to. “Yes. I thought I had seen her before, in court. So I went back and looked.”
“What’d you find?”
His cheek ached. The imprint of Pearls hand turning it red.
Edgeworth squeezed his shoulder. “I’ll handle the girls. Take your time.”
He sent a grateful smile back. Squeezed the hand on his shoulder in return.
“Mr. Edgeworth?” Iris called after him, as he was halfway out the door. “I wanted to thank you for your advice.”
Edgeworth’s lips were a tight line. He nodded.
“I think maybe it’s time you took it yourself.”
“Huh?” He looked between them.
“… I’ll take it under consideration.”
The door closed behind him. “What was that about?” He asked her.
“That’s the Edgeworth you always used to talk about right Feenie?”
Feenie.
Swallowed glass.
It dug into his throat.
“Yeah. I guess.”
“I’m glad you found him at long last.”
“Y-yeah I,” He looked up at her and stopped. What was that expression? Wait. “Hold it! We’re not!” He slammed his hands down on the table. “Not together!”
She smiled. Tittered. “Okay, okay. I believe you Feenie.”
“… Could you not…?”
Her eyes widened. Head tilted down. “Of course. I’m sorry.”
“No- its fine.”
They both stared at their hands for a while.
“I know it doesn’t mean much now but… I really did love you. I wanted you to be happy. I still do. So… Even if you hate me…”
Hating you would be easy. It wouldn’t have hurt so much if I hadn’t loved you.
“I’m really glad you found each other. I know that omega really loves you.”
“…” He lifted his head to frown at her. “Maya’s like a sister to me.”
Her eyes widened- gods he could see Pearls in that motion. Morphed into a weak smile. Like they’d just shared a joke that had stopped being funny years ago. One that left her a happy recollection but was mostly sad. “You never had a very good nose did you?”
He almost argued Yeah I still have a head cold from falling in the Eagle River thanks. But he stopped. Searched her.
“… No. I guess not.”
Maya and Edgeworth were speaking in hushed tones in the waiting lobby. Pearly bounced over to him with a can of juice in her hand. He smiled and they neared them together.
“He’s already done far too much for me.” Edgeworth with that worrying self-sacrificial tone.
“Yeah I really don’t think he’d mind.” Maya with a cheeky one.
“Mind what?” He asked.
They both jumped.
“Nothing.” Edgeworth might have said. It was drowned out by Maya’s, “NOTHING!”
And then the sliding of locks over their hearts.
“… I still have the magatama on me.” He warned both of them.
“It isn’t my secret! Pearly and I are taking the bus home! Good night!”
They both watched her go.
Real natural Maya.
“So.”
Edgeworth gripped his elbow and turned away. “It’s not something you need to concern yourself with.”
“Yeah well, too bad. I’m already concerned so save us both some time and just tell me.”
He mumbled something that was definitely not meant to be audible. He leaned in and cupped his ear. “What?”
“I’m in pre-heat! There! Does that satisfy you?” Edgeworth snapped. Face bright red as he glared down at him.
Oh.
Um. “Anything I can do to help?”
“No.” He looked away again but the flush on his cheeks remained. “Franziska has already made it clear she is willing to aid me,” He forced down the irritation that bubbled up. They were siblings. She’d probably helped him through plenty. Somehow that made it worse. “And worst case I can always ask Larry again.”
Again? The growl broke free. He stepped forward. “You asked Larry before me?!”
Edgeworth blinked blankly at him. “Wha- He helped me through the last one I had in LA yes. Why are you?” Miles took a step back into the wall. He matched it.
“Why Larry and not me?! After everything you’d choose Larry over me?!”
“That’s not-”
He couldn’t smell the pre-heat yet but this close he could smell Miles every time he dragged a breath in around his teeth.
“You should have asked Me!”
Miles looked a little dazed where he pressed against the cement brick walls. “I-I couldn’t.”
“Why not?” Yes the alpha growl was still rumbling through his vocal cords and throat. It was impolite. But he couldn’t stop it. Larry. Larry got to be there for Miles. Got to share his nest and hold him and- and-
Miles gaze kept flicking away but the growl, his demand for attention, always drew it back. “Because it wouldn’t have been platonic with you.”
The growl died.
You smell hella claimed dude.
“I’m sorry. I swear I don’t mean for this to change anything. I just. I can’t share a heat with you. I can’t pretend like I won’t try and jump you.” He squeezed his eyes tight. “I wouldn’t do that to you. I don’t want to do that to you.”
That omega really loves you.
He touched the hand digging into Miles elbow. Watched the heartbreaking spasm of pain across his face. “What if I want you to?”
“…” Miles eyes blinked open. Studied him. Confused. “What?”
He moved in a breath closer. A mere inch or two between them. He could feel Edgeworth’s body heat. Smell that comforting scent like fresh blankets pulled from the dryer.
And something else. Something that made his mouth water.
“What if I want you to jump me? Want to share a heat non-platonically?”
Cause really, the idea he could share a heat platonically with Edgeworth was absurd. Frankly it hadn’t even crossed his mind.
“W-wha- Then I…” He pressed up against him. One hand pushing him into the wall. The other caging him in. He watched Miles groan, eyes fuzzy as his hardening bulge pressed into his hip. “Think we should continue this conversation elsewhere.”
Oh. He glanced around at the waiting room. “Yeah okay. That’s fair.”
“This seems wildly unnecessary.” He complained laying on the office couch. Phone pressed to his ear.
“I will not have either of us rushing into this simply because my hormones are making us…”
“Too horny?”
“Please Wright.”
He rolled his eyes. “Okay so what. We’re supposed to like. Share medical history? I had a test after my last partner. I’m clean. I can probably figure out how to email that to you.”
“I’ll take your word for it. I can’t actually review it right now. I’d send you mine but…”
“Wooh do you actually have something?”
“No! I’m clean. I just. Can’t use my laptop right now. And I’d really rather not have Franziska digging through my medical history.”
“Why not?”
“Why don’t I want Franziska digging through my medical history?”
“Why can’t you use your laptop?”
The line crackled. “Ah. I have quite bad light sensitivity during pre-heat. And occasionally during.”
“Does that mean you’re buried under a pile of blankets right now?”
The silence was telling.
Aww.
“Shut up Wright.” He could almost see the blush tinging his cheeks. “I also want to make it clear you may leave at any time. Just let Franziska or Larry know if I become too much for you.”
“Yeah I don’t think that’ll be a problem.”
“Wright.”
“Okay, okay. Promise.”
“Additionally, it’s a stress heat and I’m on birth control so you needn’t worry about that.”
“Yeah I figured. Neither of us exactly seem ready for pups.”
There was a drawn out exhale. “Uh… What else?”
“You okay over there?”
“I’m fine. It’s just. Getting hard to focus.”
His fingers clenched around the phone. I should be there. With you. Not Franziska.
“Don’t growl at me.”
“Sorry. Is that a rule during or just-”
“Just. Right now.”
“Right. Um. No on mating bites?”
“I’m not… opposed. But I agree it wouldn’t be wise.”
Not opposed? He could sink his teeth into the back of Edgeworth’s neck and claim him and keep him. He could almost feel Edgeworth’s teeth sinking into him. Mine. Mine. Mine.
He exhaled and ground the heel of his palm against his trousers. “Fuck.”
There was a quiet whine on the other side. “Behave Wright.” Came the weak protest.
“Sorry. Uh. Boundaries?”
“No derogatory language. At least at the start.” Yeah okay. “And… don’t call me perfect or any iteration there in.”
“Huh? But-”
“That one’s a hard rule. Please.”
“…” Perfect. Perfection.
Von Karma.
“Yeah. Got it.”
“Hm… I can’t think of anything else. Sorry. I haven’t spent a great deal of time thinking about this.”
“Well that makes one of us.”
“… Did you even know I was an omega?”
“Well. No. That wasn’t. What I meant.”
“I see. Yes well.” He coughed. “Fantasy is one thing. The actual mechanics are another. What are yours?”
“My fantasies?”
“Boundaries.” Miles deadpan replied.
“Oh um. Don’t threaten to kill me?”
“That may be difficult depending on how irritating you are in bed.”
“Ha. Ha. Uh… Don’t convince me I’m dating you when it’s actually your secret twin?”
“… Wright are you sure you’re up for this?”
“Yeah no I’m totally fine.” He laughed nervously. “I mean that happened years ago.”
“And you just got closure yesterday.”
“I’m fine. It’s just fresh on my mind. I really do want this.”
“This won’t be my last heat Wright. There’s always next time.”
“Edgeworth. I’m sure.”
“… Alright.” There was the distant sound of Franziska yelling. The phone was muffled as Edgeworth yelled back a reply. “… Anything else?”
Swallowed glass.
“Don’t… Call me Feenie?”
“Why would I call you that?”
“I don’t know.”
“Well. I won’t.” There was a pause. “Anything else?”
“I got nothing.”
“Well. If you’re still certain-”
“I am.”
“Don’t interrupt.” He rolled his eyes. Sorry. “You may ask Franziska for the address.”
“You’re not just going to tell me?”
“I’d prefer to give you a few minutes to attempt to think this over. She won’t respond until she’s done at very least.”
“As much as that annoys me I guess that means we won’t run into each other. Little victories.”
“Quite. Alright. Then… See you soon Wright.”
“Phoenix?”
“… See you soon. Phoenix.”
Yeah. This was going to be all right.
Miles apartment was nice. Really nice. Like someone might call the police on him for being here levels of nice.
It was kinda nerve wracking.
Then there’s the multi paragraph directions Franziska sent him. Where the fridge was. Where the food was. What he should order as takeout during if they need more and exactly what exactly he should order.
Where the laundry was. How to run it. How often he needed to change them out or else she’ll whip him for mistreating her brother.
Strongly worded reminders about how he is to make sure Miles is eating and drinking because he hates to eat during heat and-
It’s a lot.
But he pushes open the bedroom door- even he can smell the cloying scent of Miles drawing him in – and the room is empty. A neat bed perfectly made. An open bathroom door. Curtains drawn over the windows.
A pile of water bottles, blankets and towels right next to the closet door along with a laptop, plugged in.
“Edgeworth?” He tries. “Miles?”
“If your nose is still running you should grab some tissues before entering.” Came the response from behind the closed closet door.
He picked a box up off the nightstand and knelt down next to it. “Uh… Omega can I come in?”
“This isn’t porn Wright.” The door cracked open. Edgeworth’s back to him. His head covered by one of Franziska’s blouses. “I hope you don’t expect anything exciting. My head hurts and I just want to sleep.”
He slowly climbed in. It was a beautiful nest. With soft canopy ceilings that must have been attached to the clothing rack and a plush mattress floor covered in soft blankets and towels. The walls intricately weaved together.
“Fuck. Miles its perfect.” Shit. “Sorry.” Messing up right at the gate.
“Yes, It is. Franziska made it.”
“Wha- wait what really? But she’s an alpha.” Although. It did definitely smell like her. He sat down on the floor and stared up. Admiring the handwork. The smell was only… a minor irritant.
Okay it was super annoying. But soon enough it would smell like the two of them and it wouldn’t matter.
“Close the door Wright.”
“Oh. Sorry.”
“I don’t know how to make nests. Franziska’s always made them for me. Or Larry, that one time.”
“Really? Isn’t it supposed to be instinctive?” A small noise escaped him. “I mean there’s all those tutorials online, right? Maya even made me help her a few times.”
“I could learn. I choose not to. It’d would never be as nice.”
“Why not?”
“… Because I’d have made it.” A growl built in the back of his throat. “Will you lay down?”
He did. “You’d make a great nest Edgeworth. You’re great at pretty much everything you try.”
“Paper cranes.” Well shit. He remembered all those crumpled pieces of paper. Edgeworth’s tear stained face as another one crumpled into recognizable garbage. “Even if I became a master I would only see the imperfections. It’s better for me if someone else makes them.”
Miles rolled over and tucked himself into his chest. Into the sweatshirt he’d pulled on for the trip over. In the darkness he reached out and found the soft grey hair of his head. Stroked it. “Yeah. I guess that makes sense.”
A purr started. He yawned. Alright. He was more tired than he thought.
He nestled into the nest and let Miles purr carry him off.

You let out an excited squeal at the knock at your flat door, knowing it was your new boyfriend, coming over to spend some quality time with you, after being gone filming Nomis, in Canada, for several weeks. “Henry.” You beamed, so super excited to see that scruffy face and those wild curls of his, that you bounced into his thick arms, melting into his warm body and burying your nose into his thermal sweater, taking in his amazing and masculine scent.
“I've missed you so much, y/n.” He whispered into your hair, easily picking you up.
The pair of you had met through mutual friends several months before, and really hit it off. You spent a lot of time either at his place or outings, like hiking or music concerts or restaurants. But, Henry was too impatient to see you, and came straight over to your place, after his plane landed, he'd only been inside your flat, once, and that was only for a second.
“I missed you too.” You replied, kissing him. “How was your flight?” You asked, as he set you back down on your feet and came inside, closing the door behind him.
“It was really good.” He smiled, toeing his shoes off. “It's even better to be back home,” he told you, taking a seat on the couch. “getting to see you.” He added, smirking, a wild glint in his blue-brown eyes, and making you blush.
“It's good to see you too, Puppy.” You chuckled, your cheeks warming up and turning bright pink. “Would you like some wine?” You asked, trying to pull yourself together again.
“I'd love some.” Henry nodded, licking his lips and watching you, knowing the effect he always had on you.
“Okay.” You giggled, turning on your bare heels and going into the kitchen, pulling out a bottle of white wine and two glasses. You had just gotten the cork out of the bottle, when you heard the most unmasculine sound, between a squeak of surprise and a yelp of terror. You put the cork down, “Henry?” You called out his name, padding back into the living room and finding him standing on your couch, one leg slung over the back of it, like he was ready to run and looking down at something sitting between the couch and coffee table, a look of pure terror and fear on his surprised face. The object of his fear? Your domestic short-hair, 4kg, tuxedo, cat, Midnight. “Are you okay?” You asked him, biting the inside of your cheek to prevent the amused grin making your lips twitch, and a giggle.
“You,” Henry gulped, eyes glued to the black and white cat. “have a cat.”
You blinked at him, something dawning on you. “Are you allergic to them?” You asked, worried that he would be, you felt dumb for not making sure first.
“No.” Henry replied, his tone short and eyes wide as Midnight moved, to lick his paw. “I was attacked by my Gram's cat, when I was a little kid, and I haven't liked them, since.” He explained, setting his foot down on the floor, at the back side of the couch, and swung his other leg over, putting the couch between him and Midnight.
“Oh.” You answered, still trying not to laugh, but the need to laugh at him melted away, watching a horrified flare in his face and eyes, and the way his massive body jerked, like he'd been hit, seeing Midnight jump up onto his vacated spot on the couch. It made your heart hurt and feel horrid, seeing this big, strong and gentle man, shrink in size, before you, because of the feline. “It's all right, Henry.” You told him, your voice soft and gentle, like you were trying to soothe and frightened child; in a sense you were, you were trying to pacify that little child in Henry, that had been hurt all those years ago. “He won't hurt you, he's a good kitty.” You promised him, using your body as a buffer between the gentle giant and the ferocious cat; you rested your hand on his wrist. “He probably just wanted to meet you, and get a belly rub.”
“Then, gnaw off my hand.” Henry huffed, eyeballing Midnight with a look of concern and accusation, of his implied maiming.
“No.” That you did chuckle at, squeezing his hand. “He's the cat version of Kal.” You laughed.
“Don't insult my dog, like that.” Henry said, looking down at you, clearly offended by the comparison.
You laughed again, shaking your head at him, this man with arms as thick as your body and towered over you, like a mountain. “Here, sit.” You tugged on his arm and pointed to the floor. “Trust me.” You said, softly, when he looked down at you, dubious.
“If he bites me, I'm biting you.” Henry commented, sitting down.
“Don't threaten me with a good time, Henry Cavill.” You giggled, sitting down between his long legs and made a hissing noise, getting Midnight's attention. You patted Henry's thick thighs as he jerked, hearing Midnight's inquisitive meows and as he jumped up on the back of the couch, perching there for a moment, before smoothly landing on his paws between your and Henry's legs. “Who's my good fur baby?” You cooed at Midnight, making him meow again and rub up against your legs and body.
You scratched Midnight's head, moving your fingers down his neck, over his arching back to scratch his butt. “See? Good Kitty.” You smiled back at Henry, still using your body as a sort of shield for Henry's nerves.
“Your kitty, that's why. He likes you.” Henry said, his hands gripping your hips and pulling you closer to him, trying to hide himself behind you, peeking at Midnight from around your head.
“That's a good point.” You nodded, crossing your legs, knowing Midnight would climb into your lap and lay down, which he did; purring, like a jet engine. “But, I know, something else about him, that you don't.”
“He's secretly on that top five, most wanted list, for cat related murders.” Henry deadpanned, his face blank with seriousness.
“No.” You laughed, shaking your head at him. “He's got nickname in my flat building, T.C, Totally Cool, because he's super chill.” You reached back, wrapping your hand around Henry's wrist and pried his hand off your hip, chuckling has his long fingers twisted in the waistband of your sweats. You untangled his fingers from the fabric and carefully rested his big hand on Midnight's back, feeling his arm strain and tense, twitching against your palm as his rested on Midnight's soft black fur. “See, he's only purring louder. That's a good thing, they only purr, when they're happy.” You smiled back at him, still seeing his very horrified face, but his eyes were slowly losing that life-long fear. “and, you still have your hand, too!” You chuckled, resting back against his chest as he, very, slowly pet Midnight.
“Yeah.” Henry smiled, relaxing and finding he liked your cat. “So, how long have you had him?” He asked, looking at you.
“He turned eleven, in January.” You told him, turning your head and kissing his scruffy jawline. “I got him from a shelter, when he was three.” You explained to him.
“That's a long time.” Henry remarked, smiling at you, then gasp, his body and hand jerking away. “What the fuck.” He snapped, looking at his hand, for a bite mark, and you giggled at him, patting his cheek and kissing the other one.
“He licked you, you silly Puppy.” You informed him, gently taking his licked hand in yours and rubbing your thumb over the teeny bit of saliva, on the top of his hand. “He likes you. He only licks the people he likes, and approves of.” You explained, patting Midnight on the head.
“Oh, so, he'd have bitten me, if he didn't like, and approve, of me?” Henry frowned, staring at his licked hand.
“No, Hen. He would have just ignored you.” You snorted, shaking your head at him. “But, he licked you, so, you passed the Midnight Test.”
“It felt so weird.” He replied, relaxing again. “Like, sand paper.”
“Cat tongues are rough, like that.” You told him, making a kissy face at your cat. “Their tongues are like, built-in, brushes, for when they clean themselves.” You elaborated, letting Midnight lick your hand, in example. “It doesn't hurt, it just feels really strange. Especially, if you're only use to licks from a doggo, like Kal.” You grinned, nuzzling Henry's neck.
“That's not so bad.” He smiled, resting his cheek against your hair, and holding his hand close to Midnight's face; which made you smile and get butterflies in your stomach, and let him lick the top of his hand, chuckling at the feel of it.
“So, you cool with cats now?” You asked, looking up at him.
“I'm cool with your cat.” Henry replied, scratching Midnight between the ears. “I'm still a scaredy cat with other ones.” He chuckled, kissing you on the lips.

Wo Ai Ni !
AO3 / FFN
Summary:
Plagg thought that having his holder moon and squeal about Ladybug this and Ladybug that was utter hell. . He should have realised from day one that it was absolutely nothing compared to his babbling adoration for the heroine's civilian identity and now, his waxing poetry for the raven haired girl as he finally shattered the whole 'She's just a friend' delusion and accepted his feelings for her.
A/N: I am sick and tired of all the work I've been doing for finals and honestly need my break. Anyways, here's a sweet, fluffy fic to get the stress out of my system and hopefully make your day a bit better :) The fic's title is inspired by Hitomi Takahashi's song: Wo Ai Ni (which most of you would find familiar as ending 14 for Gintama) Aaaand special thanks to @Word_Devourer for giving me the idea for the operation's name and thanks to @gale-of-the-nomads for giving me the push to write this~ Takes place after Party Crasher/ Trouble Fête, enjoy! ~(x)~ . . . Mm-hmm, there are no words in the french vocabulary that could even describe half the agony that Plagg's enduring right now, right this second as Adrien floated around in his room, hugging the gift that Marinette gave him earlier on at school with a disgustingly hopeless grin plastered on his stupid blushy face. 'Is it too late to go back to napping for a few more centuries or so? Cos I am way too old to be dealing with this fuckery again.' Plagg scowled, feline eyes almost like slits as he slouched on his pillow. He didn't even get a chance to take a bite out of his beloved Camembert! Why was he always the one stuck with the lovesick kittens again...? "-and our hands touched when she gave me the gloves! TOUCHED! I am never washing my hands again~" Adrien wiggled on the spot, nuzzling the soft present against his cheek and hungrily memorised the delectable vanilla scent that lingered on it. "Oh Plagg...did ya see the way she smiled at me? That soft, pretty, beautiful smile? Her lips so glossy and kissable AND mon dieu! I was tempted to just gather her up in my arms and kiss the living daylights out of her!" The blonde teen let out another high pitched squeal that sounded quite close to a kitten's meow and flopped on the bed, his weight causing Plagg and his pillow to bounce up and send the yowling kwami flying. Plagg. Had. ENOUGH. Darting towards the boy's face, fur sticking up making him look like a fuzzy ball, Plagg grabbed Adrien's collar and yelled. "CAN YOU JUST SHUT UP AND GO ASK HER OUT ALREADY!?" The force of the little God's voice caused Adrien's fringe to blow back comically, surprising the teen in which he merely blinked back like a kitten. After realising what he's done, an apology was quick to make way on Plagg's tongue for snapping like that only to disintegrate immediately when Adrien's reaction turned into one of a typical, shoujou, love struck schoolgirl. "I can't just ask Marinette out! She's too amazing...too cool...so awesome...oh man I love her so much! I have to get cooler and be at least half as wonderful as her before I could even dream of asking her out." Adrien was blind to Plagg rolling his eyes like it's the end of the world and kept on rambling, gloves pressed to his lips. "Besides, she doesn't even love me that way...she's always so jumpy around me..." Just as Plagg was about to scold him for being so self-deprecating and maybe give a boost of encouragement, Adrien suddenly shot up from the bed with his fists pumped up in newly found determination. "Which is why I should get better at wooing her! I'm gonna call the boys and come up with a plan to get Marinette to fall in love with me! It will be called: Operation Marry-Nette. What do you think?" Adrien looked genuinely proud of his plan like he's just won the lottery and Plagg couldn't help but sigh endearingly at him. Maybe for the last time, just for him, just for Adrien, Plagg will humour his holder through their terrible love schemes. Who knows? It could be quite entertaining and finally end this tiring love square that has lost its charm many months ago. "You were never this obsessed when you were claiming about how Ladybug and you were meant to be. Were your feelings not deep enough for her?" The kwami settled back on his pillow, stroking his wedge of cheese and glanced at Adrien through his peripheral vision who looked sheepish for a split second. "Don't get me wrong, I do love Ladybug still- but because she's my bestest friend and I admire her so much. It's just not as romantic anymore and a guy can only pursue for so long before it starts to grate on the pursued. I must have annoyed her quite a bit..." "Just a bit~?" "...okay a lot. I deserved all those bops to the head by her yo-yo and I already did apologise to her for being so obnoxious. Anyways, the point is that even though Ladybug is amazing...Marinette is Marinette. Marinette was always there for everyone, there for me. It's like my feelings have been building up for her throughout the whole time and my feelings for Ladybug was the dam. The dam's now broken and all my pent up love for Marinette is flooding all over the place...and I don't regret it one bit." Adrien hugged the gloves again with his standard, warm smile that the God always spotted when Marinette was nearby. "It wasn't easy, keeping those feelings away to avoid feeling guilty about loving another girl. Now, I don't have to worry about that. I can love Marinette all I want...if she wants to have me." Plagg rolled his eyes fondly this time, cuddling into the crook of the boy's shoulder with a fanged grin. He couldn't wait to see the delight and happiness when his chosen finds out that he's been in love with one girl all along and that his feelings were absolutely mutual. ~(x)~ "Oh! A-A-Adrien!?" "M-M-Marinette! You there- I mean hey there! Hahah...longtimenosee-" Not too far away, Alya and Nino watched the scene before them with exasperation as Marinette and Adrien started their daily stammering ritual for the umpteenth time. The model being the new addition. Sure, the first few times watching the two of them become a flustered mess when coming across one another was an entertaining prospect. Now it was absolutely painful seeing the two beloved idiots so stupidly in love with one another, blinding them from the fact that it's in fact requited. And what answers were they given when they attempted to convince said idiots that they should ask each other out? "Ah! Alya-aaa! You know I can't do that yet. Adrien still sees me as a friend so don't get my hopes up. But that doesn't mean operation secret garden is finished. I will get him to fall in love with me!" "Nino!? How many times do I have to tell you? Marinette's more interested in my clothes than in me! She's yet to fall for my suave, meow-tastic self~ Also, operation Marry-Nette is now a go-go. You, Agent Best Man have to make sure that the rose petals are ready as soon as she steps into the art room." Needless to say, Adrien's scheme failed catastrophically. So bad that not even the nerdy model took the opportunity to make a pun about it since they ended up jamming the large fans for a 'wind' effect with the rose petals and thus causing a fire. All the boys from the class ended up with a week's worth of detention much to their dismay and the girls' curiousities. Did Lahiffe even need to mention how Agreste begged for them to keep their shenanigans in helping him woo the girl he loves a secret? Despite the fact that the whole school pretty much caught on? So that's how the bespectacled couple felt like they've aged for like a decade or so thanks to their oblivious best friends who were still exchanging word soup and frazzled gestures. "-no no! You're beautiful- not that you're not beautiful everyday! Oh- erm- agh-" Adrien bit his tongue by reflex and shoved his hands inside the pockets of the designer hoodie he threw on this morning. His cheeks matched the Asian girl in front of him in a raspberry tinted flush. "YOU THANKS! I mean...thank you..." Marinette took a deep sigh before determination settled on her face. She gently clutched one of Adrien's sleeves, letting her dainty fingers brush against the back of his hand and smiled sweetly. "You're beautiful too," She flashed a toothy grin and then immediately speed walked away, leaving behind her gaping friends. A high pitched kettle like sound escaped from Adrien's throat and then he immediately shoved his hood over his head and used the drawstrings to fasten the hole in order to hide his discombobulated face. Alya and Nino carried on gaping as the usually cool model chanted 'Mon Dieu' over and over again, clutching his fabric covered face and wiggling on the spot. "Either things will get much more interesting or we're about to hit the peak of idiot one's and idiot two's stupidity." Alix quipped from the background, joined by a mutter of agreement from the other students. "Oh Marinette just hurry up and marry me already~" Adrien swooned, ignorant to the chuckling crowd as he was still stuck in his bubble. The bubble was mercilessly popped by Kubdel. "THEN GO PROPOSE TO HER ALREADY LOVER BOY!" This snapped Adrien out of his daze in an instant, prompting a feminine squeal from him and his body launching up in the air like a scaredy-cat. Heaving, he clutched Nino who was the closest to him and glared at the short girl before scoffing and scurrying away. His hand covered his face in embarrassment throughout the whole time as the students in the vicinity guffawed at him. Adrien decided that he was going to hide his face for eternity and avoid everyone who's not Nino. Representing the Gabriel brand be damned! ~(x)~ Adrien.Exe has stopped working. No, really. His soul pretty much abandoned his jelly like body and his brain has turned to mush. 'Adrien Agreste has unfortunately stopped working for the time being. Please leave a message after the meow.' Was the only comprehensible sentence that ran through the teen's mind. Marinette was sleeping on him. Sleeping on him! Again!!! Her soft, pretty, serene face hid in the crook of his neck, causing him to inhale the lingering bakery scent of vanilla and strawberries every time he dared to breathe. One of her hands latched onto the front of his shirt adorably, knuckles against his chest and Adrien could swear that the erratic beating of his heart would disturb her slumber. Yet, by some miracle he remained calm and cool on the outside despite his inner turmoil. Inhaling sharply, Adrien willed for his heart to calm down as he bravely rested a hand on the girl's waist before allowing his cheek to lean against Marinette's smooth, silky locks. He took this as an opportunity to study her up close. Marinette had her hair loose today. The long, petal thin strands fanned just below her shoulder and her fringe tickled his neck pleasantly. Her long lashes created a subtle, curved shadow on her cheek bones and had Adrien been an ordinary boy, he would have missed the expertly applied concealer below her eyes. She seemed to get more and more exhausted everyday. His poor princess... "I wish I could just hold you in my arms and keep you safe and happy forever..." He mumbled into her hair, placing his free hand on top of Marinette's which was still grasping his shirt and squeezed gently. Gathering what's remaining of his courage, Adrien puckered his lips and pecked her head, face flaming throughout the whole time. It lasted no more than a moment. Yet it was a moment that Adrien will cherish for the next few decades to come. CLICK. Reflex kicked in rapidly and by muscle memory, Adrien shielded Marinette's body with his, wrapping his arms around her and was quick to flash a dangerous glare at the intruder that dared to make an appearance. The sight of a cheeky Alya and the rest of the cooing girl group, all waving their phones and giggling on the spot drained his wrath and replaced it with shyness. "How much did you see!?" Adrien rasped, unconsciously holding Cheng closer to him, not realising that she was starting to stir. "All of it~ but don't worry Sunshine, we won't tell or show her a single thing." Alya winked slyly, wriggling her phone for emphasis. "It's just going to be in our collection for the amazing album we'll be showing you on yours and Mar's wedding day," Adrien stumbled on his words next, ears and cheeks redder than Nathaniel's hair before hiding his face in Marinette's locks as the girls snickered louder. Thoughts of Marinette in various wedding dresses, floating down the aisle with a loving smile on her face, slipping a ring on his finger as she recited her vows, leaning up as he leaned down to kiss her, all ricocheted within his mind without mercy. It was then that the boy noticed that Marinette was fidgeting in her sleep and panic started to settle in his body. "You evil people...you're waking her up." He hissed tiredly but without any venom and made soft shushing sounds to lull the designer back to sleep. The girls had other ideas however and without wasting a second, they made their moves in sonic speed. Juleka was the first to strike, lifting Marinette up bridal style whilst Rose firmly pushed Adrien back against the library's beanbag in a more comfortable way before the tall girl gently placed the snoozing girl on the boy's lap. Alix and Alya struck next, positioning Adrien's and Marinette's arms so that it looked like the former was cradling the girl protectively against him and the latter snuggling up to him with her arms around his neck.   Throughout the whole time, Mylène recorded the entire endeavour with a happy hum. "You should have involved us in Operation Marry-Nette. Look how much more successful we were in a matter of minutes compared to the painful weeks you guys went through with your schemes. I still can't believe that one of them involved you acting out a stunt in order to impress her only for you to fail terribly and bruise your ribs. You should never listen to Kim." The chubby girl smiled, grin only widening as Adrien's blush deepened when Marinette cuddled closer to him in her sleep. The raven haired girl's lips were brushing against his collarbones. It took everything for him to not combust. "Nino blabbed didn't he?" The blonde teen accused. "My babe is terrible at keeping anything from me, boo. But to be fair, it was super obvious from the start. Don't be mad at us~?" Alya pressed her phone against her lips, batting her eyes cutely, prompting the boy to roll his eyes and look away but the way he squeezed Marinette closer to him didn't go unseen. "...m'kay...just send me the pics afterwards please?" Adrien's question was answered with a cheer from the girls. . Nino on the other hand was chased around the school by Adrien with his sabre for ratting out the plans to Alya. "Bro! I'm sorry! PLEASE STOP TRYING TO STAB ME- SOMEONE HELP!" "You broke the bro-code Lahiffe! Now you must suffer the consequences!" "BRO!!??!!" ~(x)~ "...Are you okay Chat Noir?" As soon as Marinette placed a tentative hand on the hero's shoulder, he leapt up as high as his namesakes before quickly composing himself with an awkward laugh. "Kine...I MEAN- FINE! I'm fine...hahah..." Chat's faux ears plastered themselves against his unruly locks as he gripped his tail in front of him with both hands. He internally thanked the Gods (more reliable than Plagg at the very least) that his hair was covering his human ears otherwise Mari would have seen that they were as red as Ladybug's suit. The heroine in disguise raised a brow in worry, lips pursed with confusion. The silly boy has been acting very odd for the past few months. In fact his behaviour right now was starting to resemble a certain blonde sweetheart in her class- 'No! Snap out of it Marinette. Don't start comparing them both again!' The girl warned herself in her mind, shooting down the blush that tried to fight its way to her cheeks and then plastered on a polite smile. "Thank you for saving me and sorry for being in the way. I was trying to get away from the akuma, honest." Marinette fibbed, hoping that her partner would simply tease her with a few puns before vaulting away. Instead, the black cat stammered incoherently. "Oh hahah! N-N-No! You weren't in the way. You can never be in the way, it's never too much of a big deal- NOT THAT I'M SAYING YOU'RE NOT A BIG DEAL! You are one heck of a deal haha- oh the akuma is going that way. Stay safe pretty girl whose name I don't know- IMEANGOODBYE! ADIOS! Gahhhhhh..." Snapping his jaw shut, Chat Noir zoomed away with his staff in hand, hitting himself on the head repeatedly as he muttered 'Stupide!' over and over again. Marinette was left blinking owlishly at the boy's strange antics. The familiar feelings that has been gnawing on her mind for the past half year or so simply grew, causing her to nibble on the tip of her thumb. Yet, she couldn't identify what it was for the life of her and it was driving her insane. "Tikki, first Adrien has started to act like me when I'm around. Now Chat Noir? Have I done something to offend them both?" Marinette pouted at her kwami cutely which elicited a giggle from the tiny Goddess. "Oh no, no no no. I think they've fallen for you Marinette- isn't that exciting? The two boys you love? Flailing around you because you make them so shy and nervous? I can't wait to see how this plays out!" The knowing smile that Tikki had on annoyed Marinette. "What do you mean 'the two boys I love'? I'm not in love with Chat Noir! And them loving me? Impossible. Chat Noir loves Ladybug and Adrien hasn't shown any interest in me other than being 'just a friend'." The face that the little Ladybug wore was drier than the Sahara desert. "Marinette. Are you really going to argue with a being that has existed before time itself about this?" The designer only stared back stubbornly before answering. "Tikki, transformer-moi!" "You know I'm ri-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight-" Was the last thing Tikki managed to say before encasing Marinette into her standard suit. Ladybug snorted, hands on hips as she tried her best to ignore everything that has happened prior. "Liking Chat Noir as well doesn't make this any easier dammit..." ~(x)~ Adrien tripped over his shoes and fell on his face as he was too preoccupied in watching Marinette (with a dopey smile etched on his lips) chatter with Marc and Nathaniel. He was rewarded with the love of his life helping him back up on his face and cupping his face tenderly as she worried over him and checked for any injuries. Chat Noir pestered Ladybug over and over again about allowing Marinette the mouse miraculous once more or even letting her try a different one as he tenaciously believed that she would make an excellent part time hero like Rena Rouge and Carapace. The silly cat ended up receiving a playful chop to the head and a 'I'll think about it' from his Lady. He never noticed how she was oddly flustered as he was too busy doing victorious acrobatics and dances during the rest of patrol. A student from the nearby lycée took interest in Marinette after seeing her a few dozen times since he was a local at the Dupain-Cheng bakery. His attempt in asking her out however was sabotaged by a group of peculiarly dressed, short 'tourists' asking for directions to the nearest Parisian attraction in their painfully broken and accented English. The boy missed his chance to seek her out when she skipped out of his sight with Alya and co and then gave up entirely as Marinette ended up going off on a heated rant about how she was getting sick and tired of strangers going up to her and asking her out when she's never really acknowledged them. He missed the way the supposed tourists removed the disguises from their faces, revealing Adrien, Nino, Kim, Max and Ivan as they 'Ho ho ho'd away. During his patrol, Chat Noir spotted Marinette conversing with both Luka and Kagami near La Seine, the latter two sporting a fond look towards the short designer. Fonder than usual...Noir didn't like it at all. It didn't help that he knew that the musician harboured some feelings for Marinette and the fencer has mentioned numerous times how cute Marinette was. So, with his usual dramatic flair, Chat vaulted towards them, staff slamming between Marinette and the other two friends and then slid down to their level. His body slightly shielded Dupain-Cheng from Couffaine's and Tsurugi's view as he exchanged pleasantries with a slight bite to it. The trio happily conversed back instead, sending guilt down Chat Noir's spine for acting a bit bratty in the beginning. The guilt transformed into second hand embarrassment as Luka and Kagami admitted that they started to casually date and was asking Marinette for advice on where to go for a proper date to make it official. There was no need for the green cat to make its appearance to start with! ~(x)~ Marinette gave Chat Noir a pleasant kiss on the cheek, thanking him for escorting her home and her warm smile never wavered when he went through his customary babbles. The kitten ultimately gave up speaking, gathering back what's left of his dignity and grasped Mari's fingers, kissing the knuckles chastely before saluting and leaping away. The heroine in disguise let out a happy smile, a soft blush flared in her cheeks as she leaned against the top of the balcony and perched the side of her head with her fist. A few stars twinkled in the dark, clear sky and the breeze was soothing enough to clear one's mind. "Oh Adrien, you poor kitten...now what am I gonna do with you?" Marinette's quiet giggles were joined by her kwami who flew out of her purse and nuzzled her holder's cheek. "Told you he's in love with you. You owe me those tasty triple chocolate chunky cookies with your Maman's special tea." "Oh well. A deal's a deal. I still can't believe he's my Chaton- no, wait. I can believe it. Who else would be my silly, dorky, wonderful partner? Did you see how jealous he looked when he saw me with Luka and Kagami? And I thought I was bad! Hahah!" "At least he didn't get them akumatised like he got Theo once." Tikki chimed. "Oooh! Can you believe that he wrote 'Adrien Dupain-Cheng' on your notebook a few times without realising it wasn't his? And then proceeded to steal it for a day so that he could get rid of the pages he's written on? Plagg almost choked on his cheese laughing about it!" "If he hadn't missed that one page, I'd have never known why he stole it in the first place. Makes that time I borrowed his phone for the day to delete the voicemail seem minor in comparison." "He has a folder in his phone dedicated to pictures of you and another folder dedicated to you and him! His current lock screen is of him and you~! So cute~!" "We're both so horribly obsessed with each other. How is that cute- hey! Stop laughing!" "And his name for the operation to make you notice him; absolutely adorable~" "Pfft. I'll give him that. It's not too bad." A comfortable silence settled between them as they happily stargazed. For once, Marinette didn't feel exhausted or being pulled apart in numerous directions. Figuring out that her crime-fighting, pun loving partner was none other than the shy, sweet boy who sat in front of her in class soothed her heart and eased her mind. Accepting that he was head over heels for her to the point where he turned into a nervous, stammering, hot mess did nothing but fill Marinette with giddiness and perhaps be less harsh on herself when she was in his shoes. He fell for her twice. Twice! Just like she did! How could she not be floating on cloud nine after that? For once, her hectic life ever since she received the magical earrings has hit a calm and Marinette couldn't wait to see what adventures would follow next as she and Adrien would face them on unmasked, without anymore secrets. Speaking of secrets. "Hey Tikki? When should I come clean to him? There's no way that I could keep this hushed. I have a feeling that Maître Fu is aware of everything too with how I've seen him lurking left and right with that stupid knowing smile you both always seem to have on. So it should be alright, right?" "Since the Guardian has given you and your partner more freedom with your secret identities now, it's up to you when you want to tell Adrien everything. Bu-uuuuut...I kind of want to see him confess to you. Maybe figure it out himself. It's more fun that way, no?" Tikki's grin widened at Marinette's rosy cheeks, the former looking away bashfully, eyes sparkling with joy. "Do you think he'll figure it out?" "Plagg told me that he figured it out the day Mme. Mendeleiev got akumatised but ended up having to scrap that idea when he saw that illusion you created to throw him off. Adrien was so sure that Ladybug was you and seemed pretty down when you disproved that theory." 'So he did know it was me...' Marinette thought with awe, recalling how much happier and excited Chat Noir was during the battle, thinking that his Lady was his Princesse. "I'll give him a couple of days to confess or figure out my identity. Otherwise I'll just grab him by the collar and smooch his stupid face like no tomorrow." Tikki kissed Marinette's cheek in response, delighted with the girl's answer as they made way back into her room. ~(x)~ This was it. He was going to confess. Adrien has had enough of the way Marinette's lips would taunt him with the way they glistened under the lights and he couldn't escape the sweet scent that wafted from her every time she moved. It was so much more easier to deal with her when she was flighty and shy! Now? She was so much more sure of herself, bold, coy, dare he say...flirty. It went from squeezing his fingers to reassure him to smoothly kissing his cheeks as a thank you for whenever he's helped her out or did something she thought was 'adorable'. The tight hugs, the hair ruffles, the lip biting, the cheeky smirk that eased its way to her face whenever someone mistook them as a couple and the lack of denial or correction she gave in response. If he didn't confess at the end of the day, he was going to explode! With the help of the founding members of Operation Marry-Nette along with the new members, they have arranged a successful scenario. One that was working way too smoothly compared to the previous hundred or more plans that went haywire in an instant so Adrien kept a look out for anything strange or bizarre. Knowing his lack of luck, Le Papillon would strike now. Luckily, this didn't seem to be the case as he found Marinette waiting for him by the Arc de Triomphe. The place where he asked her to meet him. "Marinette! Hey!" Adrien jogged towards her, mentally patting himself on the back for not stammering. That thought process was quickly wiped away when he realised what she was wearing and how beautiful she looked. Dupain-Cheng was decked up in a simple but stylish red blouse with a high waist, short black skirt. Following her long legs were black tights and black ankle boots that had a red ribbon on the zippers. Her hair was kept up in space buns, also adorned by red ribbons, making her sky blue eyes pop. Lastly, her lips were glossed in a cherry red tint. The urge to kiss them increased by ten folds and all the words that Adrien has taken months upon months to plan and say turned into goop. 'What the fuck!? This isn't fair. This is so not fair. Why the hell did she have to dress up so prettily and look all cute and innocent now of all times? Why now!? Fuck! It should be illegal to be this beautiful! Damn you!' "Hey there Handsome! You said that you needed to tell me something?" Marinette peeked below her dark lashes and fiddled with the gold necklace that adorned her neck. A necklace that he gifted her a few weeks ago. She was going to be the death of him. "...Adrien? Are you okay?" Her hands reached up to cup his red cheeks only to be intercepted by his in an iron grip. "Adrien?" The boy squinted his eyes shut, blush never leaving and finally blurted out his feelings: "Wǒ ài nǐ!" . 'I love you!' . . . A few seconds of silence went by. The sounds of the chattering crowd in the background faded into nothing as all the boy could hear was the harsh pounding of his heart. Fearing the worst, Adrien refused to open his eyes and his ears and cheeks burned with both shyness and embarrassment. Dread began to build up in his heart when he felt Marinette wriggle her hands out of his grip and his shoulders sagged, awaiting the rejection that was clear to follow. His spiralling thoughts were halted by the contact of Marinette's fingers brushing his cheeks, slipping through his hair before getting tugged down sharply so that his lips crashed into hers. Adrien's eyes snapped open for a split second in surprise as a shocked mewl escaped his throat but then the warmth and softness that was Marinette's lips took over and he couldn't help but shut his eyes again. Without missing a beat, he wrapped his arms around her, pressing her small frame tightly against his and he couldn't help but smile into the kiss. Before Adrien could deepen the kiss, Marinette parted much to his dismay but her lips still brushed against his. He got an eyeful of her cheeks turning as rosy as his and her lips darkened into a kiss bruised state. An image that burned into his mind pleasantly. "So...d-does that mean you love me too?" Adrien couldn't help but whisper, lips tingling as they brushed against hers. "Silly Chaton. In China, we don't outright say that! But...wǒ zhǐ shǔ yú nǐ." "My Lady!? Mmph-" The boy was silenced with another kiss and this time, Marinette's words played in repeat over and over again in his mind. Wǒ zhǐ shǔ yú nǐ: I only belong to you. . . . ~(x)~ A/N: I'll proof read tomorrow. N I G H T. And Ramadan Mubarak~
