For the Writer WIP Game (It’s been a while, hasn’t it?):
💚🖤💔💕💖💝
💚: how long have you been working on it?
It's been six year, give or take. I haven't been working on it full-steam this whole time. To be honest, I haven't worked on it much half that time lol
🖤: what are your MC names?
Aithus, Kloe, and Edmund Eventone!
💔: give a brief character bio of your 3-5 MCs
Aithus: Short and stubborn, appears to be fueled by rage and a need of justice but secretly he just cares so so much and is grumbling to hold back his tears. Okay but he is actually stubborn. Yeah I dunno this guy is filled with guilt and piling burdens on to himself.
Kloe: Very patient very steady. Going through it because everyone she turns people are freaking out and throwing everything into stuff and she has to watch as they burn themselves up. "Please just let me stand by you, it's okay I want to help you hold this."
Edmund: Silliest man ever, absolute fool and jokester, very annoying. Even worse because his jokes are funny sometimes. There's something on the edge and it's concerning but you can't put your finger on it, it just lingers in his laugh. He is not going anywhere, for better or for worse (it is very unclear).
💕: what has your favorite scene been?
Actually a scene I never finished writing lol so I never posted it here. I think the doc is called 'babysitting'. Aithus is attempting to break into a military outpost and gather info and Edmund is being a huge help. It was really fun to write that side of Ed! And I love making fun of Aithus lol
💖: are you planning on publishing it? if so, how?
I think so! That's way in the future so I'm not sure. I would love to publish it through Rabbit Room or the like.
💝: who has your favorite character arch? give a brief summary
Okay it feels a bit unfair to pick Edmund because his character arch continues after this story so it's not all happening here. So maybe Aithus? I just really like characters who are trying so hard to be good, and he's definitely doing that and messing up and needing to figure out how he can actually help people and do good like he so desperately wants.

Oh my wrd I cannot get your Umbrella academy AU out of my head. I just want to say I love the idea!
I think a really awesome little detail is that Gregory is the only who can technically 'steal' Lucy's power. But at the ame time, (due to their love) he is the only one who won't, because he loves every part of Lucy; understands that Lucy deserves to be her whole being; and believes that she can learn to control her power. And that is how the apocalypse is averted
I have an idea about Lucy that keeps pinging around my head. What if when Lucy first lost control of her powers (as a child) her powers accidentally killed John. Therefore the reasons for Lady Danbury to supress her powers would be to protect the others, AND to help stop Lucy feelng the guilt of killing someone who was like a brother to her. Lucy's emotional state is already volatile due to her age and past, and Lady Danbury does not wish to heap yet another traumatic eventon the young girl's shoulders.
Sorry about the ramble, your ideas are just really inspring! ☺️☺️
So following Lucy's rampage, when she's at her lowest ebb, Gregory comes to her aid by cutting off all sound surrounding them with the assistance of some of his siblings. Though she's still highly agitated the peace and quiet comes as a relief to Lucy as she can no longer convert sound waves into physical force. In as quiet and gentle a tone as possible, Gregory asks her what she wants. It comes as a surprise to Lucy as she tries to remember the last time anyone had ever asked her what she wanted. She had always obediently followed Lady Danbury, wanting to prove herself and be of use to the academy, going out of her way to assist the rest of the members in any way she could. All these years she had tried to make herself useful, to make herself part of the family she thought they had become... when all this time they had all lied to her, pretending she was powerless, quietly living in fear of her in case she discovered her abilities.
“I don’t want to be lied to any more.” she breathed out. “I want everyone to respect me. To think me capable of controlling my own power... to not fear me...”
But as she looked around them, at the entire city left in ruin, at the Umbrella Academy members who were either severely injured or rendered unconscious and motionless, at the Bridgertons who were all watching on with apprehension in regards to her... she realised the very things she wanted were the very things she didn’t have.
“Oh god.” she trembled. “Oh god! I... I’m a monster.”
“No you’re not, Luce.”
“No but I am! I really am!” she began to shed tears as the raging fire of emotion inside of her transformed into pained anguish. “Look what I did! I’ve destroyed everything! I’ve hurt the people I was supposed to love the most!” she cried as she watched Colin Bridgerton desperately trying to compress the blood gushing from Penelope’s neck.
“You were hurting, Lucy.” Gregory said in a calm voice. “You were hurt and confused and frustrated -”
“But I shouldn’t have lost control.” her quivered. “I should have...”
She watched as Benedict held Sophie close to his chest, mouthing for her to wake up.
“I should have...”
She watched as Eloise and Anthony tried to douse and alleviate the burns on Phillip’s back and though she couldn’t hear him she knew he was screaming in agony.
“I should have...”
She watched as Hyacinth used her own hands to defibrillate Gareth’s chest, urging him to come back.
“I should have...”
She watched Michael as he lay motionless among the debris, his eyes open but glazed over as he looked up to the heavens above him - and she began to sob as the remorse crashed into her like a tidal wave.
She had become the very thing they had all feared. The thing they had been trying to prevent. The thing that... that would bring about the end of the world, she finally realised as she began to process the ramifications of her actions.
“I’m the apocalypse. Aren’t I?” she shuddered out.
She met Gregory’s eye. He didn’t say anything but there was no answer necessary. She knew it. He knew it... and he was just as scared of her as everyone else was.
Lucy became wracked with hysteria and she began to hyperventilate. There was nothing that could be done, nothing that any of them could do to rectify her thoughtless actions. The world was ending and she was the sole cause of it.
“No, no, no, no!” she wailed. “I just wanted to fit in! I just wanted to be like everyone else! I didn’t want to be like this!”
“Lucy.”
Through the flood of her tears she looked to Gregory who was watching her carefully, compassionately but still keeping his distance from her in the force field that was around them.
“I’m not going to pretend I know the exact thing you’re going through... but I can understand to a limited extent.” he explained. “All my life I’ve trailed after my siblings, having to stick with them to be capable of using my power. Of reflecting their powers. I felt like I was only ever an after-thought. To just follow Anthony to double his power. Go with El as back-up. I didn’t feel as though I served any real use or purpose. I wanted to stand out. Be my own person. Have my own power. I felt like I could never live up to my siblings.”
Lucy found herself fascinated by Gregory’s admission, how he had experienced the same inadequate thoughts as she had had for her entire life.
“And then after the lightning strike... god, I’ve never lost my head the way that I did. I’ve never felt so out of control as I did then. The fog of frustration was so overwhelming, looking back I can’t believe I would ever be capable of possessing a rational thought ever again.” he shook his head. “And I felt so guilty once I had come to my senses. Of what I had done. Because even though my power is just mirroring the powers of others... I had still caused destruction as an individual. I was as just to blame as any of my siblings... and it’s not easy, living with that guilt. Of knowing you’ve inflicted pain on others.”
Lucy whimpered in agreement as she cast a gaze over to where Simon and Kate were lying injured - or worse - as Daphne and Francesca knelt by them trying in vain to save them.
“Lucy.”
She tore her gaze away from where her family members were and looked to Gregory.
“Do you think I’m a monster?”
She hadn’t anticipated the question. For him to be asking her if she thought he was a monster. Surely if he was going to ask such a question it would be about herself?
“No.” she shook her head. “Of course not.”
“But after everything that I did,”
“No, Greg, you’re not.” she told him in a firmer voice. “You’re sweet and kind and you wouldn’t want to hurt anyone.” she said, describing the boy she knew him to be at heart. “That wasn’t you that lost control. You just didn’t know how to handle your new-found powers, you were overwhelmed. You’re not a monster. Not by any means.” she asserted.
“And neither are you.”
His simple declaration stole her breath away and she stared at him. She now realised he wasn’t looking at her in fear. He never had been. All he looked at her with was complete and utter understanding.
“Yeah, but you didn’t cause the apocalypse.” she nervously countered.
Gregory shrugged. “I easily could have. And any one of my siblings. You guys were working off of the theory that we were the cause of the apocalypse anyhow. If you hadn’t managed to track us down or tame us in time, then we would still find ourselves where we are now.”
“But I’ve doomed us all.” Lucy said. “I can’t reverse it.” she uttered forlornly as she looked to Hyacinth still valiantly trying to resuscitate Gareth - the only hope they had of turning back time.
“We might be able to.” Gregory replied. “Colin might not have full control of time-travelling, but there’s still a chance we can fix this.”
Lucy trembled. There was still hope. The world might still be saved.
She began to feel some semblance of relief until it occurred to her - Gregory didn’t have to tell her all this. There had to be some reason why he was going through the motions of trying to reason with her, to lead her into a false sense of security; and then it clicked.
“Greg?”
“Yes?”
“Your power... you don’t just mirror the powers of others.” she said, well aware that he was currently using her power to manipulate the sound waves from entering the outer force field they were in. “You can absorb others’ powers. You can keep it and not return it if you chose to.” she said, recalling how he had done just that to steal Penelope’s power and relieve Sophie and Benedict and herself from the mind control she had had over them.
“Yes.” he confirmed.
She then looked to him sadly. She knew he was a good person. That he would do whatever it took to save everyone. And she also knew she was monster, who was out of control and needed to be stopped.
“You’re going to take my power away from me. Aren’t you?”
“No.”
“Gregory, stop trying to be nice to me.” she shook her head tearfully. “You don’t have to pretend any more. I understand. You can take it. Because if you don’t... and once the force field is dropped... your siblings are going to do everything they can to kill me. To eliminate the threat from mankind.”
“That’s not what this is, Luce. You have to believe me.”
“Why don’t you just take it, Greg?!” she exclaimed at him.
“Because I want you to make that decision!” he cried back. “You don’t deserve to be robbed of it because of this.” he motioned to the bleak dystopia around them. “It’s your power, Luce. One you’ve been kept from all these years. You have your own voice. You’re your own person. If we can right everything and you had the chance of regulating and mastering your power, wouldn’t you want to keep it?”
She was flabbergasted by him. Where on earth did they get Gregory Bridgerton from? Why was he being so considerate and thoughtful to her - the human embodiment of the apocalypse?
“And you think your family is just going to be chill that I’ve kept my power? You think anyone could ever trust me,”
“I trust you.”
Once again, Gregory had stolen Lucy’s breath away with a single statement. He uttered it like a solemn vow, looking her dead in the eye, and somehow in her very soul she knew he meant it. He wasn’t just trying to pull one over on her. He truly cared for her. It was as if they were kindred spirits and nobody else existed but them.
“Why?” she uttered.
“I just do.”
He said it so simply, assuredly, and she just wanted to hold on tight to him and never let go. He made her feel safe, made her feel heard, made her feel worthy.
She took a step forward, her arms already shooting out to embrace him, but he stumbled backwards instantly. She faltered and her lips parted and she began to feel mortification affecting her cheeks.
“I’m not scared of you.” he immediately said before she had the chance to react. “That’s not what this is.” he gestured to his sudden back-step. “Lucy, I still haven’t fully mastered my power. When I touched Penelope’s arm I didn’t realise I had taken her power away from her. And I did the same when I nudged into Simon. If you touch me I’ll immediately absorb your power... and I don’t want you to think I’ve duped you into that.”
And suddenly Gregory keeping his distance from her since they had been within the force field made total sense. She thought he was scared of her - but this whole time he was being respectful of her her and her power.
Nobody had ever treated her like this. Nobody had ever made her feel like... like an equal.
“I could really use a hug.”
It left her lips without her fully realising what she was saying. She didn’t even realise that that’s what she wanted until she heard her own voice utter it. After everything that happened, all of the madness that she had endured; all she wanted was to be held by someone. And there was nobody else she wanted to held by more than him.
“I would really love to give you a hug.” he replied with a sympathetic smile. “But I can’t.”
Lucy nodded but her want for his embrace was growing stronger by the second. He had provided her with verbal and emotional assurance but what she craved more than anything was the assurance that came from physical affection.
“If I hugged you,”
“I would absorb your power.” he completed.
“But you managed to give Simon and Penelope back their power.”
“I did.”
“So you could give me back mine.” she reasoned.
Gregory’s mouth opened and closed before he answered her. “I mean, yes. But Lucy I’m not trying to lure you into anything,”
“I know.” she nodded. “So wouldn’t it be like you’re holding onto it for me?”
Gregory stared at her. “I suppose, technically,”
“And if you had my power and the force field dropped and your family knew I genuinely had nothing for them to defend or fight against... well, wouldn’t that just work better?”
“Lucy,”
“I trust you.” she said. “And I know I’ve just brought about the end of the world and my head was all over the place and I was out of control... but I know in my own mind that I’m giving your my permission to absorb my power.”
“It would just be temporarily.” he told her.
“Temporarily.” she echoed with a nod of confirmation.
“I would give it back as soon as you asked for it.”
“I know. I know, Greg. I trust you.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“I just am.” she said with a small smile. “I’ve never trusted someone the way I trust you. I don’t know how or why or when it happened... but I trust you, Greg.”
He nodded slowly. “Only if you’re sure.”
“I am. And you have my consent to take my power.”
“Temporarily.”
“For the time being.” she assured him.
And then she ran to him, knocking into him and wrapped her arms around him - and all at once, in spite of the glaring fact that the world was coming to an end around them, Lucy felt in her soul as though everything was right with the world.
