I’ve reread Hunger Games and I have one thing to say. I can’t believe some people do not see that Katniss was in love with Peeta this entire time. In an after-the-games interview she states that she fell in love with him on the arena but the truth is she has had feelings for him since the bread episode.

Even tho Katniss was unaware of her feelings this whole time or tried to suppress them - the way she cared for Peeta and did everything to save him speaks for itself. In my opinion the doubts come from Katniss’ avoiding personality- she cant let herself get attached to someone in fear of losing them. Also she’s very distrustful.

And I just know that SNOW SAW THAT and it was partially the reason he resented Katniss so much. She and Peeta are what Snow and Lucy Gray could have been. As we know, Snow hates love because he knows how strong it can be. Love overcomes everything he values the most - rules, order and control.
