y’know i love memes as much as anyone else on this hellsite and the internet in general. but one meme i can’t stand now, as well as a joke used by older comedians about ~kids today!!!! am i right???~ that i can’t stand now, is the one that’s like “all 10 year olds want today is an iphone or an ipad or a macbook for their birthday or christmas! all i got for my 10th birthday/christmas as a kid was a tennis racquet and a tether ball that hit me in the face! kids are so spoilt today! you better get an i-job to i-pay for your spoilt mac-ass!”
because like.... do you not understand that in today’s increasingly over-connected world, ipads and macbooks or other tablets/laptops are pretty much required school equipment now, if your 10yo kid’s primary/elementary etc school has a ~bring your own device~ policy for kids in years 4-6??? like obviously yes, some schools will provide students with laptop/tablet trolleys and stuff.... or also the government might have a program to roll out laptops/tablets to schools (like australia did under rudd and gillard).... that some schools will literally put “parents must get a reliable tablet computer or laptop computer for their child to use for assignments”. when it comes to high school, i imagine that they’ll need their own laptop/tablet the whole way through their time there, if there is no longer any school provided or limited school provided laptops/desktop computers/tablets.
that’s besides the point that laptops etc are even more so required now than ever before, after everyone was forced to do homeschooling because of covid??? so. practically. a kid asking for a macbook/ipad or other tablets/laptops for their birthday or christmas, isn’t such a bad idea for a present??? even if yeah. apple is overrated and overpriced to the max. but suck it up and pay for your child’s future education??? even it means getting a cheaper laptop or tablet for your kid.
all i can say on the above point is that yes. the idea of ~bring your own device~ policies does set many families back- especially those in/from lower income areas/backgrounds or single parent families... considering that a decent tablet will set you back at least $500 and a decent mini laptop is around the same.... but bigger and better laptops are around $1000 on sale (windows) or idek like $1,200 on an apple education pricing deal. like yeah. it’s a demarcation thing and also setting some people up to fail. and again, this has been made increasingly obvious during covid due to different families acces to buying laptops/tablets or other internet connection means. i also understand that these big ticket item purchases of tablets/laptops hits the hip pockets of everyone harder during the pandemic, especially if you’re struggling with debt like mortgage repayments or whatever while being made redundant or are being paid less while working from home.
okay. not to sound like a spoilt brat of a kid, but i got my first laptop, an i-book G4 for my 10th birthday in 2005. then almost 10 years later, i got a macbook for my 18th birthday (and for my HSC/end of high school exams) in 2013. yes, this is the macbook that i promptly fucked up two years later in 2015, by trying to encrypt the hard drive, since i was taking it to uni and it had all my internet passwords remembered on it along with my banking details. the same goes for my other windows laptop... where the hard drive just decided to fry itself like 4 months into me using it, along with the trackpad. and that was a $1,200 ASUS laptop (bought on sale) that i was using for uni. and then finally my little HP stream laptop’s keyboard shorted out halfway through a creative writing class (that was $500 and it only has a 28gb hard drive so it’s very light and good for transport).
but my point is, me having my own laptop (as opposed to using the family computer only) helped me immensely in my studies..... and they were literally fucking essential to me both in business college and uni. but they were also helpful in late high school, considering that 90% of my assignment work was expected to be typed out in microsoft word or powerpoint or excel (for maths and science). or for more creative projects, i was expected to use adobe photoshop and video editing software like imovie or adobe premiere pro (art/computer tech/drama/that weird year 7 subject i did called INTEL) and garageband/sibelius (for music). how on earth was i supposed to keep doing work on adobe photoshop or word etc at home if i didn’t have my own laptop to continue the work???
because as a final point, for me, literally by year 10 in 2011, NOT ONE of my assignments was expected to be handwritten (bar my actual exams or in class tests; also state tests/exams etc; or if it was a poster or visual art). if you dared to turn in something handwritten, the teacher and student interaction would be like the following example:
teacher to a kid whose handed in a handwritten assignment: did you not read the assessment outline? it said WORD PROCESSED WITH WORD! what is this handwritten thing? okay fine. i’ll take it this time. but read the outline next time, timothy!
timothy: *stammers out* s-sorry miss/s-sorry sir *stalks away from the teacher’s desk in embarrassment and shame*
the teacher, probs thinking to themself: weird that a kid thinks they can hand in something handwritten. silly, really.
the above scenario was the same for me in years 11 & 12. also, by year 9/2010, we were using the education management system moodle (and maybe early stage presi for online presentations) for both of our HSIE subjects (history and geography) and i think a couple of other subjects, during most lessons and especially for class work that involved group work/class discussions, via online discussion boards function. my year group was actually was actually one of the test year groups for the early models of moodle. so by the time i was in uni, i was a native to using moodle; so i could skip the “moodle help tutorial” subject portions on it in every class.
hell, for today, i wouldn’t be surprised if foreign language subject faculties in high schools are now using school subscription class accounts or something for duolingo or babbel. and today, kids are learning coding from like year 4 onwards, i think, on apps at school as part of their science & tech studies lesson portion of the day. how on fucking earth are kids meant to keep up with their class work progression on coding apps or whatever, at home, if they don’t have their own laptop/tablet??? ridiculous. how would kids fare today without their own laptop/tablet, if all of their classwork for homeschooling is on like google drive/cloud or whatever other open source drive/open source cloud software their school uses?? or any other apps that their school might use??? obviously we are seeing this play out in real time during the pandemic, world over, where if a child is in a single parent family or if their two parents don’t have adequate enough resources/have been fired or let go from their jobs/juggling working from home and homeschooling; then it’s hurting these kids likelihood of doing well with distance learning.
but yeah. my point is that if your kid is asking you for a laptop or a tablet (regardless of brand) for their birthday or christmas, maybe buy them one?? because you never know. it may be the very thing at the top of their student resource list for the following school year. and also. do you know what stops kids fighting over their access to the family computer/tablet to do their assessments etc??? buying them their own personal laptops or tablets. even if they do cost an arm and a fucking leg. get your heads out of your asses and help your own goddamned kids (or relatives if it’s a nephew/niece etc asking for one) like you’re supposed to.
okay. for phones. i’ll admit i wouldn’t like a 10 year old having their own phone, because of social media being so easy to access on them. but if you don’t allow them to use the app store and don’t allow them to download instagram/facebook et al..... and give them the phone solely for safety reasons, i think that’s fine?
i’ve had a phone since i was 10 years old. also not to sound awfully clichè, but i turned out okay??? i had to have a phone back in year 4/2005 due to safety and also family issues. do you know what my teachers did with it? locked it away in their desk til the end of the day. obvs they had to remind me to take it home sometimes (bc i did leave it behind at school in the desk a few times lmao) but yeah. i was alright. if a kid wants a phone..... maybe make a compromise and get the classic nokia 3310 or something?? like i obvs agree that kids as young as 10 defs don’t need a smartphone like an iphone or a samsung galaxy. but a rock solid and basic nokia 3310 or whatever with no wifi access??? that’s good enough imo.

Hello! I’m a long time follower and I’ve recently been accepted to UC Berkeley as a transfer! I wanted to ask, what do you love about Berkeley? I’m trying to separate the prestige of going to THE UC from my personal feelings about the school. Getting the opinion of someone who has actually attended might be helpful. I appreciate anything you have to say!
hello !! omg “long time follower” what a CONCEPT that means you were probably here at least 4 years ago, considering i haven’t used this blog in the past 3 haha.
also, CONGRATULATIONS !! i’m so excited + happy for you ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ (and i’m laughing at “THE UC” because i forget that we are also called Cal for that reason haha). v understandable to try to get a vibe about the school to separate prestige from the actual experience — i’ll try my best to share what i love about berkeley, though ofc (obligatory disclaimer) every person ultimately has different experiences at the same college, so YMMV :’)
i’m actually making/editing a video about what i’ll miss about berkeley [updated!] that im aiming to post by the end of the week heh so i’ll share it here / update this ask perhaps with a link when im done!
but in the meantime! what do i love about berkeley under the cut heh
berkeley is in general known for their academics / research opportunities! depending on what you intend to major on, it can be a really great resource to strengthen your foundations in your intended field :’) i study computer science, and imo berkeley’s CS program is pretty good — we have some particularly amazing lower division teaching faculty, and also pretty solid access to some innovative / Big Things™ research labs + professors in the field as well. i think in general their STEM is p strong, and i think various majors within the humanities as well. i would just say do your research for your respective interest in that regard, since i think some majors (ie. cognitive science) are probably “better done” at other schools? example UCSD has an actual dept. dedicated to cogsci, whereas berkeley’s cogsci program is just kind of like a program rip
i’m also in the college of Letters & Science (L&S), and what i love about that is the flexibility you have for your major of choice! transferring to EECS is now impossible (?) iirc given I started in L&S, but i was still able to major in CS (after meeting the GPA cap) which is honestly virtually the same degree — you have the same CS requirements, just without some of the COE requirements (like physics or multivariable calculus, which is fine by me LOL). being in L&S also means you’re able to double/minor in L&S majors more easily (anywhere from history to art to english to stats to data science, etc.) without needing to worry about overlapping individual college requirements!
and one more thing about academics is that it’d probably be ideal if you could talk to someone who majors in the same thing you’re interested in, as i can only really speak to my personal experience as a CS major. the school is honestly really big, and experiences vary greatly within department to department! CS department is HUGE and our class sizes pretty much never dip below like 200-300, mostly averaging around 600-700 even in the upper division. but with smaller discussions, it usually doesn’t feel that bad. but i know that experience is v different for some other majors, where their upper division classes are like 20-30 people!
there’s also a bunch of student orgs / clubs, like a lot of schools i’m sure, that you can take part in! berkeley feels like a very self-driven school, in the sense that you can really feel students’ personal motivations, which drives the vibe that student orgs typically take on (in my experience).
i personally really like the city + campus! i like how berkeley feels like a ~ community ~ and almost a combination of a suburb / metropolitan area. you can find residential areas just by walking 20 minutes north of campus; you can go downtown / into oakland with similar travel time either on foot or by bus; you’re next to BART which gives you access to a bunch of bay area cities; and even tho the campus is an “open campus” which means anyone can come onto campus, it’s not integrated into the city as a school like NYU is — which means you still do get the campus vibe/feeling! also some areas of campus are absolutely beautiful, esp. during golden hour *chefs kiss* hehe.
we have a pretty decent selection of libraries to study in too HAHA.
i think food in berkeley is def not bad either! near campus won’t be like Top Notch food and it’s not super cheap, but you get a lot more options that a lot of colleges don’t have within like 5-10 min. proximity i believe. but i am not 100% certain about that ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯  but it’s p easy to find good grocery stores if you prefer to cook @ cal, and p easy to find some quick food options that aren’t bad if you’re busy either!
like all schools tho, there are plenty of pros and cons depending on what you prefer / are interested in / what kind of person you are! there are lot of things i could talk about, but i’m not sure what you’d like to hear / what would be relevant for you heh. if you have anything you’d like me to elaborate on / clarify, please do lmk!
at the end of the day, i think my personal belief is that a person’s college experience is largely shaped by their chosen community (re: people they choose to spend their time with), and if you find people that have the vibe you’re looking for in a college setting, i think it helps the overall experience a lot! sorry this is kinda rambling heh but congrats once again and GO BEARS LOL

June 13th-June 19th, 2020 Creator Babble Archive
The archive for the Creator Babble chat that occurred from June 13th, 2020 to June 19th, 2020.  The chat focused on the following question:
What is your physical and digital workspace like when you’re working on your story?
🌈ERROR404 🌈
LOL it really depends on what stage I'm in of the process - My storyboarding space is at home, as comfortable as I can be, a beer and some food at the ready and pure silence. The cats have to be freshly fed, otherwise I'll be harassed and lose my headspace entirely LOL. I usually work on my story boards digitally, just at a very small scale, with my script/outline on my computer and working on my ipad! The double screen helps a LOT, although i would just print out the script if I had access to a printer, haha. When I'm working on the actual page itself, it's a very different story. I usually just try and work on it in tiny little batches during the day when I'm stuck at home, and usually work around the animals as best i can, lmao. Truthfully, I really prefer to be in a coffee shop when I'm working on finishing pages, it makes me so much more productive than i am in this house with so many things to take care of right in front of me, but, obviously, that's a bit difficult to do these days. ;; I usually reserve food and drink until after I pass a milestone in inking/sketching to help motivate me to keep going for as much as I can before taking a break, and I need some kind of music or video playing in the background to keep myself from being absolutely bored out of my mind. My shading process, since it's in black and white, is very easy and i can finish it in one setting, easy, no matter what I'm working with. I also work digitally for my pages, of course, although I don't need more than my ipad and clip studio for it!
DaeofthePast
freshly fed cats
🌈ERROR404 🌈
They are BEASTS when hungry, the little bastards (love them)
I may only work in peace when they're post-food napping lmao
DaeofthePast
we only have one, but same
LadyLazuli (Phantomarine)
I work almost entirely in the corner of my IKEA couch at home I used to work at a proper desk with a Cintiq, but when I switched to Procreate on an iPad, I migrated to the couch and surrounded myself with a nest of clothes and blankets and books and... here I am, bein' cozy. With terrible posture But when I was between jobs last year, I did rent a little coworking space down the street so I could get out of my pajamas and go get comic stuff done there. It was a godsend. I like drawing at my favorite coffee shop every so often too, but I tend to hide my work while I draw, and there, everyone can look over my shoulder The coworking space had a tall artist desk that was rarely used, so I often grabbed that one. Not cheap, but to stave off cabin fever, heck yes, worth it.
🌈ERROR404 🌈
Ahhh I've been really thinking about getting a studio space one of these days I really shouldn't rn, with my finances as they are, but I could REALLY make use of one recently
LadyLazuli (Phantomarine)
I loved the space I used last year. They recently had to close for... current-event reasons... and are going to reopen with all sorts of plexiglass barriers between the desks I feel so bad for them. Good studio spaces are wonderful, I would support them again if I ever was out of a job!
🌈ERROR404 🌈
it's good they've found ways to make it safer, though!
carcarchu
My old workspace was in the basement of my home in canada and it was always perpetually freezing even in the summer and i was frequently visited by spiders so my current workspace is a huge improvement in that regard. I do miss my old ergonomic desk chair though. I'm definitely not the kind of person who can draw in bed or on the couch. I need to be in workmode and having a designated space just for that is necessary for me to get in the right headspace for that.
DaeofthePast
my workspace rn is just my desk with my laptop and my drawing tablet. my laptop is stacked on top of a pile of books so i can see the screen (otherwise my tablet blocks my line of sight). it's kinda simple
chalcara [Nyx+Nyssa]
Depends. I have a Cintiq Mobile Studio, so I can draw pretty much every where and sometimes in the oddest position, but most of the time I am on my desk with the cintiq hooked up to a second monitor so I don't have to look down so much.(edited)
Holmeaa - working on WAYFINDERS
For Wayfinders: Thumbnails are somewhere cozy and the only physical work. Me and Q sit and plan them out together. The rest of wayfinders are made on Photoshop, and flat colors in clip paint studio. In the world I would love a nice studio place in an office with others. During corentine I have been working from home, and I am not that good at it, being quite the extrovert. Before corentine I was in a artist residency where I worked on Wayfinders which had a workstation and all the programs we could need. It is so nice and me and Q are going to return there when it opens up again!
Miranda
I have an iPad so usually on the couch, cozied up with coffee and pillows and blankets. But sometimes at the table. But usually on the couch like the gremlin I am
FeatherNotes(Krispy)
I have a large drafting table, a mini drafting table, and a lapdesk in my papasan when we ink/draw! Toning and letters are all done on the desktop in its own space
Miranda
I need to get a good lap desk. But that sounds like a grand setup!
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
My first time hearing about a lapdesk
Omg I need one
FeatherNotes(Krispy)
They are the best things ever Mine has just the pencil holder !(some come with cup holders and its a waste of space imo)
Joichi [Hybrid Dolls]
Wow I like your setup of the drafting tables
FeatherNotes(Krispy)
I wanna show pics of them....if im allowed in this chat?
Joichi [Hybrid Dolls]
I hope so, I'm not sure which channel we can post studio photos at? I did see some did before?
FeatherNotes(Krispy)
Ill post in shop talk since creator babble gets archived
Tuyetnhi (Only In Your Dreams!)
my current space is uh.... a bit better than my last one. I used to work on an old writers desk for a decade and I did most of my comic work sitting there cramped up with my desktop taking most of the space. Now I have an L shaped desk where I have my desktop on the shorter end. The longer end it's my pen, pencils, and watercolor stuff. my display tablet occupy the space at times so switching from digital and traditional without worrying about setup hassle is a lot better than what I dealt with before lol.
I'm glad the days I had to curl up and draw with no privacy are long gone now
kayotics
I’ve got a little drafting table where I draw all my comic pages. I’m messy with my pens so they’re kind of strewn about until I start to lose them. Then I put them back. I’m not particularly neat. I spend most of the comic process off the computer, so most of my digital work is just on an iPad where I can sit anywhere. I try to keep good lighting around my drafting table and there’s always loose eraser shavings all over.
Natasha Berlin (Pot of Gold)
I got myself a lil corner desk by the dining table. Not as well-lit as I'd like, but it's decently ergonomic and I started putting posters on my wall Plus I can leave work mindset easily by turning off my computer and forgetting about the dark corner in the dining room XD(edited)
sssfrs (JOE IS DEAD)
My desk is really sloppy and covered in all kinds of junk. I have a harmonica, a ball of yarn, a bunch of ink bottles, etc on my desk. I have my sketchbook under my tablet and usually a notebook somewhere for writing. My tablet sits to the right of my laptop (on top of sketchbook) while I'm not using it and when I'm using it it goes over my computer keyboard. I sometimes have a glass of water or some food sitting to the lefthand side
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
The only thing I wanna share about my workspace is this
once i spent over three hours looking for that damned pen
never again
🌈ERROR404 🌈
Ajkdhfkjs the models for hte magazine im crying
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
Oh my God
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
mad giggling
Deo101 [Millennium]
youre gonna manage to lose the string
Tuyetnhi (Only In Your Dreams!)
omg
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
i know in my heart deo is right but still i hope
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
You should weld a metal chain to it
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Watch me lose the whole tablet
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
Oh nooo
I believe in you!
TaliePlume
My workspace is a black table with a white, yellow, blue and green tablecloth with 3 black chairs. It's next to the kitchen. On it, is my laptop and the left side is my clipboard, 3 blue folders full of writing. Then above it, is 3 sketchbooks and another blue folder from a class that I took in community college.

sagaholmgaard
I have one long desk at almost three meters. On the left side is all my coffee and tea supplies, in the middle is my work space and on the right is my dining table xD I get everything done from there, despite having a mobilestudio so I COULD sit anywhere and work, lol. It's a blessing during holiday seasons to be able to bring it everywhere, but at some I like my designated working space. Although I am moving in a few weeks, so who knows what my new workspace will be
Moral_Gutpunch
My workspace is anywhere I can draw or write. It's more of a "Will I be interrupted over something petty or stupid" issue than space. Not that I don't want more space.
Mitzi (Trophallaxis)
My workspace is a big, broken corner desk I managed to lug out of an old apartment when it was gonna be trashed. Before then, I'd just draw in bed. I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure the folding chair I sit at is a similar affair. It's got a Dollar General throw pillow on it so I can at least say I'm trying to save my back. The top of the desk is a mess of mostly old bottles and cans, pencils, incense ash, and my old tarot deck. I love this setup dearly. This is the first time I've ever had my own desk space, much less a space I can decorate or leave as messy as I want. Got my own art up on the walls with sticky tack and all! Also the cat's scratching post is directly behind me, because we've learned the cat won't use it unless it's as in the way as possible. What can ya do, lol.
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
Oh cats...
Desnik
I got spoiled with an adjustable desk. It is six feet long, and has a whiteboard top for noodling with dry erase markers
my main computer is set up on an adjustable stand so it floats over the desk, and then I have my cintiq, which we tried to mount on a similar stand but then it was just too heavy
I keep my dice collection nearby because fidgeting helps think things through sometimes
and rolling to make odd decisions never hurts
lately during the quarantine I've been sharing the office with my spouse so we've had to establish rules over when it's okay to bug each other(edited)
oh yeah and we also have a whiteboard installed in the office, and it rules!(edited)
Shizamura 🌟 O Sarilho
Mine is pretty simple: I have a laptop that's long stopped being portable and is now mostly just sitting at my desk at all times and a 19 inch Ugee as my display. I usually keep a lot of stuff on top of my desk, but it's mostly just a mess because I have been using it for work too for a while now
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
I suppose I'll talk about my setup too :) My main setup is where I do digital art. I share an office with my SO, so we both have workspaces on opposite walls from each other. I work on a corner desk that holds my beefy computer, two monitors, and a Huion Kamvas GT-191. That's where I draw my comic and pretty much everything else done digitally. Ngl, it's a mess right now. I have comic notes and location floor plans in sketchbooks and DnD character sheets spread out all over the surface, and random pens and sticky notes. In the corner of the room, we have a nice large-format printer where I produce prints for conventions. I actually sketch my pages on an iPad pro in Procreate, so during the sketch phase, sometimes I'll just bundle up on my couch and do it, or before quarantine, sometimes I'd sketch on the go. My other workspace (which hasn't gotten much love as of late tbh) is a drafting table in the corner of our living room. I keep a tabletop easel on it and my Copic markers, as well as whatever I'm working on at the moment. (RN it's some ink washes.) The drawers hold all my ink, pencils, erasers, etc. Next to the drafting table is where I keep all my large charcoal, graphite, and oil pastel drawings (mostly school projects), and my large paintings. Other than that, I have a nifty little cart where I keep painting supplies :) I will say, this setup is by far an enormous improvement from my previous setups.

RECENT NEWS, RESOURCES & STUDIES, June 2019
Tumblr media
Welcome to my latest summary of recent news, resources & studies including search, analytics, content marketing, social media & ecommerce! This covers articles I came across from May 31 to June 21, although some may be older than that.
(Unfortunately, a few of this edition’s entries were lost somehow, & I could only remember one of the missing, so if you know of an article/post that should be included, please let me know, & the piece will be added here as well as to the next post.)
My busy few months are now mostly over, so I will have more time to get working on this Tumblr, new blog posts & the new forum I want to start; expect more frequent updates starting in July.
TOP NEWS & ARTICLES
Shopify is going to run fulfillment centres for its US customers within the next 2 years. “Right now Shopify will offer early access for merchants who ship between 10 and 10,000 items per day, and by the end of the year the company aims to offer two-day shipping to 99 per cent of the United States.” They announced other plans at the same time, including better shop tools.
If you have your own website, conversion rate optimization is something you should be looking at. Why? Because “[a] simple tweak on a landing page can double or even 10x that page’s conversion rate” which can be much easier to do than doubling your traffic. [Note that this is not a short article; it’s a full guide.]
Matching searcher intent is a crucial part of great rankings. This long article tells you pretty much everything you need to know on making that happen with your content, with real examples for their site.
Mary Meeker released her annual internet trends report; shorter summary here. “If you're looking to connect with the next generation, you should be maintaining at least some awareness of gaming culture, which is where attention is increasingly shifting.” “Some 51 percent of the world — 3.8 billion people — were internet users last year, up from 49 percent (3.6 billion) in 2017...E-commerce is now 15 percent of retail sales. Its growth has slowed — up 12.4 percent in Q1 compared with a year earlier — but still towers over growth in regular retail, which was just 2 percent in Q1...Customer acquisition costs — the marketing spending necessary to attract each new customer — is going up.
ETSY NEWS
Etsy retired several of its Support/Help email addresses, including [email protected], all without any official announcement.
You can now link photos to variations - but only with one variation, not both.
Etsy’s annual report for 2018 is out; I didn’t see much new here, but if you catch something, please leave a comment or send me an email so I can add it to this summary. [They actually mentioned “abilities” in their list of things they accept diverse ranges of, but as usual, they only give any details about gender, race/ethnicity and sexual orientation. Disability is invisible for them.]
A new bunch of US states will have state taxes charged for online sales as of July 1.
Ryan Scott will be Etsy’s new Chief Marketing Officer as of June 24.
SEO: GOOGLE & OTHER SEARCH ENGINES
Google broke with tradition & decided to warn SEOs about the core search algorithm update that started rolling out on Monday June 3 and ended on the 8th. There are multiple reports of some UK news companies taking a hard hit while others picked up visibility. It’s still too early for much comprehensive analysis, but here is a summary and another more recent one.
At the same time, Google also rolled out an update that increases site diversity in search results, often limiting each website to 2 entries in Google’s top pages. Think of it as Google's approach to “clumping”. They insist it is separate from the core algorithm update. Early analysis finds that it didn't change much for most searches.
Websites sometimes rely too much on Google traffic, which is dangerous whenever they change something (i.e., daily). Here are 5 ways to make your site/pages more resistant to algorithm updates.
Most decent SEO tools cost some money to get the full value, but here is a list of 55 free tools including keyword research, stats, linking, and technical tools. (Some have paid versions as well, but just ignore what you don’t need.)
SEO sometimes requires stating the obvious; check out this tweet with a graphic from an SEO conference.
Rand Fishkin did a major review of clicks from Google search, & found that nearly 50% of US google searches result in a click (often questions such as weather, or spelling). Only 45% led to clicks on non-paid links, & non-Google companies. But “for every click on a paid result in Google, there are 11.6 clicks to organic results. SEO is far from dead.” Search Engine Land did a TL;DR (too long; didn’t read) summary here.
Fishkin also has some good insights on making a profit through SEO. [video and full transcript] I think the point about having a strong profit margin is really important - it is going to get more expensive to sell online as time goes on. Etsy is not the only provider trying to squeeze more pennies out of its customers. (Fishkin’s whole push lately is that you must be a known brand to survive; I am reserving judgement on that for the moment.)
Most blogs haven’t done their SEO correctly, but you can fix that. [video & full transcript]

Human brains like stories, which is why you should use them in your marketing. “Stories do another thing: They trigger the release of this neurochemical called oxytocin, which is known in some circles as the love drug. About 10 years ago, all we really knew about oxytocin is that it’s released when, say, a mother is with her baby. But what we’ve discovered since then, through the work of neuroscientists like Dr. Paul Zak, is that stories trigger the release of oxytocin in much the same way.”
Sell luxury goods? The market is changing as younger people make up a larger chunk of the core. Millennials will make up 50% of the market by 2025. The article has some interesting stats on the luxury resale market: “Overall 45% of true-luxury consumers participated in the second-hand luxury market, and more than one-fourth (26%) have bought pre-owned goods”  which is a trend some luxury vintage sellers might want to watch.
Generation Z prefers personalized content & isn’t as worried about privacy as older generations.
US adults now spend more time on mobile devices than they do watching tv. Much of that time is spent on mobile apps instead of browsers, & audio (podcasts & music streaming, mostly) accounts for a large chunk of time spent.
US retail sales grew by half a percent in May, less than predicted.

Tumblr media
The Samsung Galaxy M31s is the replacement of the Galaxy M31 and carries new highlights to the fragment. The Galaxy M31s sports a 6.5-inch Infinity-O AMOLED Touch screen with an opening punch at the middle. Actually like the Galaxy M31 this also packs a major 6,000mAh battery yet this time around Samsung has combined a 25w charger in the case.
Samsung has likewise gone with a side-mounted finger impression scanner on the Galaxy M31s. The smartphone has a “Glasstic” back which appears as tough glass, however, is made out of plastic. It has a unique finger impression magnet and gets fingerprints without any problem. The Smartphone runs on OneUI 2.1 on top of Android 10. The Galaxy M31s accompanies a decent lot of bloatware pre-installed on the gadget.
Samsung has decided on the Exynos 9611 SoC to control the Galaxy M31s. This is an out dated processor now and you do see some laziness while stacking hefty applications and games. Battery life on the Galaxy M31s is amazing as the Smartphone kept going us more than 2 days with our use. The Galaxy M31s has a quad-camera arrangement at the back comprising of a 64-megapixel essential camera. We discovered the camera execution to be acceptable in light. It likewise has a Single Take feature which offers various formats of video for recording. Lowlight camera execution was normal however we discovered video adjustment to be poor.

course feedback from a 2nd year film kid
Hello! Your course feedback tag helped me so so SO much when I was choosing courses in 1st year (and it’s still helping me). I was honestly relieved to find this blog as a resource for all york students! :)
I definitely want to give back to the yorku community & student body so being the shy person that I am, I want to give a bit of my feedback on courses I’ve taken at york so far as an anon, if we’re still able to. Not sure if it’s the right tag for this but hoping it is!
For reference, I’m going into my 2nd year of film as a BFA in Media Arts (new program for this year ooo). Previously I was in the BA for Cinema and Media Studies. This post might be a little long but pls bear with me! Thanks in advance. :)
FA/FILM 1400 9.00 *Not a 9 credit course anymore. Now it’s 6 credits.
Easiness - Introductory film course for all film kids. Teaches you the basics of film jargon, film history and film techniques. Pretty easy for a 6 credit course, but be prepared to write a couple of essays, and write them well!
Interestingness - Some movies were good, some were good to sleep through.
Usefulness - Useful because of what I learned from my TA! Took tutorial with Caroline. She’s really helpful at clarifying expectations and you can see she wants the students to learn. Don’t be afraid to ask for help to clarify theses, essay skeletons, or go to her with any concerns about tutorial participation (if you’re shy like me) if you need it outside of course hours! She’s usually very accommodating to that.
Additional Comments – NO EXAM. If you don’t want to buy the textbook, you can find the textbook online, but the pages might be different due to diff editions! Just make sure you have the right reading for the week. Lectures are long but they’re only long because it’s usually 2 hours for film screenings and 2 hours of lecture (give and take). On good days, there’s only an hour of the prof’s lecture. You’re not obligated to stay if you can’t! Course breakdown: tutorial participation, Fall term essay, Winter term essay (weighs a bit more), and a solo or partner powerpoint presentation on a chapter of the textbook.
FA/FILM 1405 3.00
It’s a course about television studies, but I found it rather dry. There were a few times we screened the first few episodes of shows like The Wire, Jane the Virgin and Grey’s Anatomy, but otherwise, the majority of the actual material was boring (at least to me). We talked about the globalization of television, television companies merging into mainstream ones, American programming versus international, different types of camera work, etc. I thought I did bad in it, but ended up with a mark I was happy with, so although the course may not seem like it’s for you, don’t doubt it because it’s either a hit or miss. Definitely a course I didn’t love, but it IS a required course for film kids, so you just have to put up with it. But hey, at least there’s no final exam!
Breakdown: Tutorial participation, 3 in-class exams about the weekly readings (just 2 long answers for each exam), and a final essay. No textbook needed (all readings are online).
FA/FILM 1120 3.00
This is a screenwriting introduction course that’s required for all film kids. The grading is not too hard, you just have to be open to different ways you can form a story and tell it to your audience. Be open to constructive criticism! Your stories can always improve, and the TAs encourage you to do so. It is a writing course, but the assignments were short and not hard at all. You get to watch a few movies throughout the term, but overall, it taught me how to become a better storyteller. Lectures are long but just go to them for attendance!
No laptops in this class (unless you’re a student with special needs). Prof. Rebecca Schechter is pretty serious about that. No exam, no textbook required. Course breakdown: tutorial participation (includes asking questions), 4 short writing assignments (generally 1-4 pages), and your final script of an original story you create (can either write an outline of your story or a full-on dialogue script.
FA/FILM 1001 3.00
Easiness - Easy. As long as you can be (or at least fake) being creative in various ways by using different types of media resources, give this course a shot! If you’re worried about the courseload, Prof. Ken Rogers hardly touched on the readings, and even if he did, there was no test on them. The majority of the class didn’t do them. The assignments require a bit of creativity though, so if you really want to get an A, you should think “outside of the box” and express your ideas in different ways using media.
Interestingness - I didn’t do any of the readings and lectures weren’t even relevant to our assignments. Lectures were long-winded and mostly boring. You can work on other things while he talks tbh. The assignments were interesting though! You do a few assignments: a social media looping 10 second video of what represents you, an assignment on hyper-attention, a fake news assignment, a mapping assignment about what maps can signify, and a final desktop documentary & mock “budgeting” plan.
Usefulness - Very useful if you want to practice using different types of media while thinking in a critical way. You might be thrown off by the vagueness of the assignments because there is no limit to what you can do. Take advantage of it and think creatively!
Additional Comments – NO EXAM, no midterm, no textbook required. Make sure you have access to a computer - no fancy gadgets are required, but it’ll be easier for you if you’re decent with the computer and creative work. Just attend the lectures (for the sake of it) and attend tutorials. My tutorial was with David Han - he’s a pretty laid back guy and will give you some hints as to what he would like from you. Just approach him honestly, do your work, and you’ll be fine.
AP/PHIL 1100 3.00 The Meaning of Life
Easy. A bit of work, but this is coming from a person who doesn’t like essays. It’s a good introductory course where you learn about a new philosopher each week and I really enjoyed the topics. There is a lecture video, a few readings, and a Moodle quiz every week on the philosophers, usually 10 questions and the best thing is that you can keep retaking the quiz if needed to get your desired score! One course kit is needed with photocopies of the readings. Try taking  with Rebecca Ring, and if needed, go and talk to her out of class at the philosophy department if you’re really stuck on one of the essays or assignments to clarify expectations. The final exam was 10 short essays - sounds like a lot but it wasn’t. Don’t let that scare you off because they were pretty understanding with the grades!
FA/DANC 1900 3.00
No, you don’t have to physically dance. DANC 1900 is a blended course where you watch movies every week, do a reading, and submit a 3-2-1 assignment onto Moodle weekly! (3 things you learned, 2 things you thought were interesting about the week’s material, and 1 question you have). No exam, no textbook - just participate, do the weekly work, and finish the final “essay” (not really an essay) where you choose a movie, create 3 questions about it, and answer the questions in paragraph form with minimal research. Super easy if you have the right TA. I recommend Megan, she’s really understanding. I had another TA before but had to transfer because I really did not enjoy the class when she taught it. If you’re having trouble with the course, need to clarify expectations or having some difficulty with your TA, contact Dr. Bridget Cauthery (the prof)! She was so sweet and accomodated me well.
You talk about racialized bodies and how they’re connected to dance, heteronormativity, social class, all the way down to communism and politics, while watching films like Saturday Night Fever and Cabaret. If you like movies and can make connections from film to other sociopolitical ideas, definitely try this course out!
FA/DATT 1939 3.00 *DATT not listed in courses page
Loved this course, but that’s just my experience. 1939 is a course where you learn a bit of everything for non-digital media majors - HTML/CSS, Javascript, Photoshop (minimal), Audacity (sound program). It would be easier on you if you have at least some knowledge about any of these topics or programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and HTML, but it’s not required. It’s a coding class but also a mixture of design - you talk about gaming and actually create website “games” for your assignments. No exam, no textbook, but you might not enjoy doing the weekly readings (e.g. Lev Manovich) and (not weekly) quizzes. The short quizzes are on Moodle and based on the readings. You have to attend lab in order to do them! Definitely interesting and it’ll help you out a lot if you want to learn more about these programs and skills! You have to put the work in if you want a good mark though. Two assignments for the whole term - one assignment where you make your own interactive website narrative using HTML/CSS (the prof/ta will show you how), and the 2nd is a group (but you can do it alone) project to make a website game using HTML/CSS and Javascript. It’s easier to work in a group because of workload. For the assignments, the sky is the limit! You can literally do your assignments on any topic you want. Tip - just take it and see if you like it! Don’t take it if you’re a newbie to this and have a heavy courseload though - it’ll just be extra work on you to learn everything from scratch while balancing your other courses.
FA/ARTH 1900 3.00 *ARTH not listed in courses page
Introductory course to art history! Blended course - weekly tutorials and online audio lectures with follow-along powerpoints. Easy if you work hard! Course breakdown: tutorial participation, one assignment where you have to go to Nuit Blanche, and another where you complete a questionnaire at a smaller Artist-Run Centre/other art gallery. For the final essay, you have to go to the AGO, choose a painting to write an essay on and discuss the art techniques used in the painting. The course really helps you learn more about artists in Toronto and it’s fun to go in groups with your friends downtown! No textbook but there’s an exam, which was really easy if you study - memorize painting info and answer some short answer questions you discussed in tutorial. Took the tutorial with Ingrid - I recommend her.

The best tech for working from home
New Post has been published on https://nexcraft.co/the-best-tech-for-working-from-home/
The best tech for working from home
With a changing economy, more flexible job roles, and the continued spread of broadband internet, more and more of us are working from home. According to the most recent statistics, more than five percent of the U.S. workforce spends at least part of their office hours at home.
While this habit lets us avoid the stress of commuting and spend all day in sweatpants, the consequences aren’t all positive. With so many distractions at home, and no manager looming nearby, productivity can take a hit. To avoid this, we rounded up some apps and tools to help you stay on task. Include some of these in your home office setup to raise your productivity and motivation levels.
If you work best with a constant murmur in the background, you’ll find plenty of white-noise apps to provide that hum. We’ve selected two reasonably-priced favorites.
Noisli ($2 for Android and iOS, free for the web app) is our top pick. It produces a wide variety of sounds—from morning coffee-shop clatter to a stormy forest to simple white noise—that you can combine and customize. Pick the noises you want to hear, and the relative volumes you’d like them to play at, and Noisli does the rest. For instance, you might choose a loud whoosh of blowing leaves with just a faint hint of rain in the background. The app also offers several preset sounscapes designed to help with relaxation or productivity.
On the more expensive side, we also like Brain.fm ($7 per month or $47 per year for Android, iOS, and the web). Although it’s pricier and less customizable than Noisli, it still offers a decent number of sounds, from nature noises to electro. And Brain.fm claims that its original AI-created tracks can actually optimize your brainwaves to improve your cognitive function, helping you focus, relax, or drift off to sleep. Your mileage may vary, but I found the app to be very effective when I tested it out. If you’re still leery, you get five free sessions to test out Brain.fm before you commit to paying.
Where does all the time go? With no boss around to check when you start work or take a break (or three), your routine can quickly stagnate. That’s why you need an app to help you keep track of how you’re spending your time.
One of the most impressive time-tracking apps we’ve encountered is Toggl (free for Android, iOS, and the web, with premium subscriptions for $7 to $20 per month). It syncs across multiple devices, produces useful reports analyzing your schedule, and lets freelancers see which clients help them make the most money. What really makes Toggl stand out, though, is its ease of use. You can set it up in minutes, tracking your time with just a few taps or clicks. If you forget to note particular tasks when you start them, you can return later to edit this information. Many of these features come free, but for bonuses like advanced reports and automated reminders, you’ll need to pay for a premium subscription.
Although it’s our favorite, Toggl isn’t the only good time-tracking app out there. We also like Hours (free for iOS, $8 per month for web access). Unfortunately, this intuitive and comprehensive time-tracker only has a free version for iOS. Web access requires a premium subscription, which also gives you extra features like more reporting options and syncing across multiple devices.
At home, you’re surrounded by temptations like your snack-filled kitchen, potential Netflix binges, and, of course, the ever-present siren song of your smartphone. You need help tuning out these distractions in order to stay on track.
First, we’d like to flag Forest (free with in-app purchases for Android, $2 for iOS), which aims to keep you off your smartphone. It relies on a simple but effective motivation: The longer you avoid your device, the bigger the app’s digital forest grows. As virtual trees multiply, Forest rewards you with coins that you can spend to support the planting of real trees. This not only reduces your phone use, but also helps the planet at the same time.
For a more comprehensive method of avoiding distractions, we like Freedom ($7 per month or $30 per year for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS). It actively prevents you from accessing pre-selected websites and apps, such as distracting social media or smartphone games. In other words, it locks you out of non-work programs until you’ve finished your tasks. Unfortunately, if you’re determined to do so, you can simply disable Freedom and cheat. But you might find that it creates enough of a barrier to derail your proposed Facebook binge and encourage you to do something productive instead.
All work and no play is a recipe for burnout: If you don’t take the odd breather, your productivity will experience diminishing returns. A simple tool like the free online Pomodoro Tracker builds breaks into your schedule. It reminds you to take five minutes of rest for every 25 minutes of work, and you can also adjust these parameters to split your time differently.
You should use those break minutes to refresh your brain. The highly-rated meditation app Headspace ($8 to $13 per month for Android, iOS, and the web) can help you be more intentional about downtime. It takes you carefully through a host of beginner-friendly guided meditations, from short single sessions to longer courses. You can pick the topics that suit your needs, such as relieving stress or increasing focus, and the time periods that fit into your schedule. You get a limited number of basic meditations for free, and then if those work for you, you can pay for a subscription to unlock the entire Headspace library.
If you’d prefer distraction to meditation, why not rest your eyes while listening to a podcast? Google Podcasts (free for Android) and Apple Podcasts (free for iOS) both give you free access to a wealth of audio content. Learning about completely non-work-related topics—podcasts cover everything from life hacks to television shows—will give you a chance to rest and reset, so you can tackle your tasks afresh when you head back into the home office.
Even when you’re not in the office, you need to stay in touch with your colleagues. So apps that connect you with other members of your team are an essential part of working from home.
For your audio and video calls, we recommend Skype (free for Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS). This classic web caller works efficiently and intuitively, and it also boasts lots of useful features like text chat, group video calls, screen sharing, and file transfers. Because Microsoft owns it, the app integrates neatly with other Microsoft services—for example, you can access Skype directly from the Outlook web portal.
And for more granular communications, you can’t beat the ubiquitous chat app Slack (free or $7 to $13 per month for Android, iOS, the web, Windows, and macOS), which aims to reduce our reliance on email. It has gained widespread popularity for its ease of use, ability to switch seamlessly between private direct messaging and open chat rooms, and integration with other work services like Google Docs and Trello. It can even make audio calls. However, for it to function as your virtual office, you’ll have to convince your organization to sign up the whole team for accounts. Although you can get Slack’s basic chat features for free, you’ll have to pay $7 to $12.50 a month for access to the entire message archive, unlimited searches, and other premium features.
Besides the apps we’ve mentioned, you can also modify your physical home-office setup. A more comfortable working situation will make you more productive—and less vulnerable to distractions.
For your comfort and your health, you should make sure your chair and desk help you sit without straining your body. For example, keep your screen at eye level to avoid damaging your neck and back. No matter what type of computer you own, a basic stand like the SimpleHouseware Metal Desk Monitor Stand ($21 on Amazon) can help keep everything in alignment. And for a real upgrade, consider building a custom computer desk designed to help you sit ergonomically.
In addition to your computer, you probably have a few other gadgets on that desk. You’ll want to keep them all charged to make sure a dead battery doesn’t make you miss a call from the boss. A multi-port charger like the Anker 60W USB Wall Charger ($26 on Amazon) can help. It lets you juice up to six devices at once using the ubiquitous USB port standard.
Finally, illuminating your workspace is essential for both staying focused and reducing strain on your eyes. You can pick any lamp that fits your tastes and needs, but we like the Lampat LED Desk Lamp ($30 on Amazon) because it’s not too expensive, and it comes with yet another USB charging port.

The Pros
Good multitasking performance; Strong audio; Large 1080p screen; Colorful design
The Cons
Dim display; Relatively short battery life; Underside gets warm
Verdict
The HP Chromebook 14 packs offers good multitasking performance and blasts a lot of volume, but competitors offer brighter displays and more battery life.
If you’ve been tempted to switch from a Windows 10 notebook to one that runs Google’s lightweight Chrome OS, you might have noticed there aren’t many big-screen Chromebooks available. Enter the 14-inch HP Chromebook 14, which packs an Intel Celeron processor and a 1080p display. This attractive, teal-and-white laptop provides strong audio and plenty of performance for multitasking, but competing Chromebooks have better battery life and more colorful screens.
Design
At certain angles, the HP Chromebook 14’s white plastic lid gives off a slight glimmer that reminds me of Formica countertops. The rest of the chassis, including the deck, sides, bezel and bottom, are a light teal, which gives the laptop a Crest toothpaste aesthetic. The deck also has a neat matrix pattern.
The solid feel of the HP Chromebook 14 suggests a reliable build quality, and its soft keyboard deck felt comfortable against my wrists. If you’re looking for a more premium design, check out the Dell Chromebook 13, which has a soft-touch carbon-fiber finish and a sturdy magnesium-alloy design.
HP Chromebook 14 Size
Weight
3.48 pounds
Dimensions
13.54 x 9.45 x 0.7 inches
Weighing 3.48 pounds, the 14-inch HP Chromebook 14 is heavier than the 13-inch Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2.97 pounds) and the Dell Chromebook 13 (3.23 pounds). Measuring 0.7 inches thin, the HP Chromebook is about as thick as the Dell (0.72 inches) and the Toshiba (0.76 inches).
Ports and Webcam
HP’s put a security lock slot, an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, a headphone jack and a microSD reader on the Chromebook 14’s left side, and a pair of USB 2.0 ports on its right side.
The HP Chromebook 14’s 0.9-megapixel webcam shot accurate but noisy selfies of me in our office. Its photos correctly captured the red of the Purch wall and my blue gingham shirt, but the images looked splotchy, as if a pointillist filter had been applied.
Battery Life
Unlike its competitors, the HP Chromebook 14 doesn’t have enough battery life to make it through a day. The Laptop Mag Battery Test needed only 6 hours and 42 minutes to drain the notebook of its charge, a time that the Dell (13:25) and the Toshiba (10:05) both beat.
Laptop Battery Life HP Chromebook 14 6:42 Category Average 8:23
  Display
The HP Chromebook 14’s 1080p screen may be sharp, but it’s on the dim side. When I watched the Star Wars: Rogue One trailer on the HP Chromebook 14, multiple scenes looked dark and muddied. The blue lasers were rendered green and the orange of rebel pilot jumpsuits failed to pop. I could see the scratches and other fine details of Forrest Whitaker’s armor, but the screen reproduced the Imperial Star Destroyer in a yellow hue that made it look like an old prop.
HP Chromebook 14 Display: Test Results Benchmark Score How it Compares Brightness 212 nits Weak Color Gamut (sRGB) 65 percent Below Average Color Accuracy (Delta e) 0.5 Above Average
Based on our tests, the Chromebook 14 emits only 212 nits (a measurement of brightness). That’s lower than the Dell (270 nits) and the Toshiba (378 nits). Its viewing angles aren’t great, either, as its color darkened at 35 degrees to the left or right.
According to our colorimeter, the HP Chromebook 14 can produce only 65 percent of the sRGB spectrum. That’s less than the Dell Chromebook 13 (96 percent) and the Toshiba Chromebook 2 (110 percent).
The HP Chromebook 14’s panel fared better in the Delta-E color accuracy test, where it earned a 0.5 (closer to zero is better). That beats the Dell (1.4) and the Toshiba (0.9). This score is contrary to our experience, but if the notebook can produce only a limited range of color, its accuracy doesn’t mean as much.
Audio
Those who like their music loud and clear will appreciate the HP Chromebook 14. The notebook filled a large conference room with an accurate version of CFO$’s “The Rising Sun,” reproducing its strong bass guitar riffs, crisp drums and high synths.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The HP Chromebook 14’s keyboard isn’t perfect, but it makes for decent typing. I noticed its deck bounced a lot as I used the 10FastFingers typing test, where I clicked my way to 70 words per minute with 99 percent accuracy. That’s below my 80-wpm average. The keys have 1.3 millimeters of travel, while we prefer 1.5 mm.
The HP Chromebook 14’s 4.3 x 2.7-inch, buttonless touchpad accurately tracked my input as my fingers navigated around the Chrome browser, and there was a solid feel to each click. The notebook smoothly responded to my two-finger scrolling, and it correctly registered my three-finger navigation gestures.
Performance
Armed with a 1.8-GHz Intel Celeron N2940 CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 16GB eMMC drive, the HP Chromebook 14 provides enough power for multitasking. When I split my screen between a dozen tabs and a streaming YouTube video and opened Cut The Rope and Google Keep, the system stayed speedy, with no lag as I typed in a Google Doc and moved from tab to tab.
The HP Chromebook 14 did poorly on Google’s Octane 2.0 performance benchmark, which gave it a score of 7,869. The Celeron 3205U-powered Dell Chromebook 13 (14,453) and Celeron 3215U-powered Toshiba Chromebook 2 (17,044) earned better scores.
The Browser mark test for overall browser performance produced similar results, with the HP Chromebook 14 (2,300) getting bested by the Dell (4,199) and the Toshiba (4,576), again.
HP’s Chromebook 14 is also not as good at running JavaScript as its competitors, earning a 46.1 in the JetStream 1.1 test. That score is lower than those of the Dell (86.3) and the Toshiba (99.2).
Graphics
I had no trouble playing casual games like Cut The Rope and streaming 1080p video from Netflix on the HP Chromebook 14, but again, synthetic test scores favor its competitors. This system earned a score of only 1,480 in the Oort Online test, which measures the browser’s ability to display simulated environments. That’s far below the Dell Chromebook 13 (5,050) and the Toshiba Chromebook 2 (5,060).
The HP Chromebook 14 also performed poorly in the Aquarium graphics simulation, which tests 3D rendering. The notebook mustered 47 frames per second with 250 and 500 fish in the tank, while the Dell and Toshiba both sped along at 60 fps with as many as 1,000 fish.

  Audio
Those who like their music loud and clear will appreciate the HP Chromebook 14. The notebook filled a large conference room with an accurate version of CFO$’s “The Rising Sun,” reproducing its strong bass guitar riffs, crisp drums and high synths.
Heat
The HP Chromebook 14 stays cool up top, but heats up down below. After we streamed 15 minutes of HD video on the notebook, our heat gun recorded a temperature of 99 degrees Fahrenheit on its underside, which exceeds our 95-degree comfort threshold. Its touchpad (75 degrees) and keyboard (83 degrees) did not get hot.
Chrome OS
Google’s Chrome OS is the light, minimalist alternative to Windows and OS X. After I logged in to the HP Chromebook 14 with my Google account, I was greeted with a desktop background of a trolley car at night and relatively few icons in the lower corners of the display.
In the bottom-left corner, there’s a magnifying-glass icon to open search (which pulls results from both the HP Chromebook 14 and Google itself), and icons for Chrome, Picasa and Gmail.
Those who like their music loud and clear will appreciate the HP Chromebook 14.
When I clicked on the magnifying glass, it brought up my most commonly used apps and Google Now cards about the weather and baseball.
Chrome OS also includes voice control, so if you have a Chrome tab or the launcher open, you can say, “OK, Google,” to bring up the voice assistant.
In the right corner, Chrome places its notification counter, the time, software update indicators, the volume, Wi-Fi connectivity, battery life, keyboard layout and your user account photo.
Apps
After you log in to the Chromebook using your Google account, the system automatically loads whatever apps you have previously used. In our case, that consisted of Google’s own productivity and Play apps, Word Online, games like Cut The Rope and Offline Solitaire and favorites such as Netflix and Spotify.
For more apps, you can check out the Chrome Web Store, which has tens of thousands of titles available. The Stress Relievers section has games like 2048 and a white-noise-producing add-on; apps for checking the local forecasts and getting rain alerts are filed under Weather & Outdoor; and image-editing programs can be found in Unleash Creativity. Other categories in the Chrome Web Store include Business Tools, Social and Communication, and Education.
When I poked around in the store, I found some of the apps I use every day, like Pocket, which I use to save articles to read later. LINE, a popular messaging app, is also in the store.
Google Docs and Slides users will find the ability to save files for offline use useful for those moments when they do not have a connection. You’ll need to make sure that that setting is enabled in Google Drive in advance. Offline access isn’t available for all apps in the Chrome Web Store, but some work when you’re not in the cloud.
The Chrome Web Store still has a ways to go if it intends to seriously compete with Windows and OS X. I found myself missing my favorite Twitter client, Tweetbot, and HipChat, which we use for inter-office communication. If you’re looking to play your favorite games, you will spend a while hunting for them, as that section of the store is filled with knockoffs like Fruits Slice and Bubble Shooter.
Configurations and Warranty
Our test unit of the HP Chromebook 14 is the ak060nr model, which costs $279.99 and packs a 1080p display, a 1.8GHz Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM and a 16GB eMMC drive. HP also sells the ak010nr model, which costs $249.99 and includes a 2.16GHz Celeron N2840 processor, 2GB of memory, a 16GB eMMC drive and a 1366 x 768-pixel display.
The notebook ships with a one-year limited warranty. Check out more information about HP’s warranty in our overview.

  Bottom Line
The $279.99 HP Chromebook 14 is a solid notebook for general activities. If you want a large screen for simultaneous document editing, internet browsing and video streaming, it packs enough punch to suit your needs. On the other hand, those who want to make it a whole day on a single charge or enjoy brighter and more colorful images may want to look elsewhere.
If you’re willing to get a 13-inch display, both the Dell Chromebook 13 and the Toshiba Chromebook 2 earned our Editor’s Choice awards for their long battery life and even faster performance. The $269 Toshiba Chromebook 2 CB35 is even less expensive than the HP, but you may want to pay more for the $429 Dell Chromebook 13’s fantastic design. But if you want a big notebook that runs Chrome OS and can kick out the jams, the HP Chromebook 14 is worth your consideration.

Question 4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Tumblr
The blogging site Tumblr was useful during the planning stage as it allowed me to accumulate all my research in one place. This included theories and theorists, audience research, a production log and analyses of music videos and digipaks. The chronological structure of the site allowed for sections to form naturally, showing the progression of our music video from basic research through to evaluation.
The ability to embed videos and images is invaluable as it allowed me to visually punctuate any point I made, whether on my music video or during an analysis. This can be seen in my analysis of Dead End Street by the Kinks or Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd. However, when it came to posting my digipak on my blog, the quality of the image decreased. This was frustrating as I couldn’t work out how to fix it and the image seems to be decent quality before posting.
I have also had issues with Tumblr because of poor wifi connection. If there isn’t a strong connection, Tumblr has at times taken hours to submit a post or even embed a video. This was especially tricky in the research phase when it came to analysing music videos. At one point the video took so long to load I tried to cancel it to start again and ended up losing the essay I had just written.
Overall, Tumblr’s layout and accessibility to my whole group is beneficial in organising research and keeping track of progress because of its linear structure, but its technical flaws have been a detriment at times.
Prezi
Prezi has enabled me to create an in-depth critique of my own work, in which I was able to break down individual points and section off answers into appropriate and easy-to-navigate sections. It includes many sleek designs for free that presented my work in a succinct and flowing manner and allowed me to provide evidence or visual aid to my points through embedding videos and images into sections.
This program came into most use during my evaluation in which I was able to analyse each of my original media texts in appropriate groups (e.g., discussing the ‘minimalistic style’ in my music video, digipak and magazine cover). My biggest problem with it was that it ran very slow, with each action taking twice the time that it would if running smoothly. This is again most likely because of poor internet connection. The only real drawback was that it was tedious and took longer.
Mobile Phones
These were beneficial in the traditional sense; I was able to keep in contact with my group whenever I needed them, mostly for help organising filming days during production. We were able to set up a group chat through Facebook and having that easy, reliable communication between everyone meant that we were all ‘in the loop’, receiving the same information and discussing the video as it was being made.
Mobile phones also came in handy when we needed to take photos of filming days for the production log. This, coupled with the social media access it brings, allowed for easy sharing of pictures and thus, improved blogs.
PCs
The computers at school were what the music video itself was edited on and it caused a lot of trouble. While the extensive storage space on the iDrive is useful, the speed at which post-production had to go because of the poor processing speeds was tragic.
This was mainly an issue with rendering, which can take up to 3 hours to complete with lots of footage. This forced us to be selective from the get-go with what shots we actually wanted to import and render, which ultimately meant that Premiere Pro didn’t become cluttered and only the best shots made it into the final cut.
Similarly, the slowness of the PC meant that cutting in time with the beat of the song was more difficult. There were lots of lagging issues that meant we couldn’t tell with any accuracy whether our edits lined up with the beat of the song. It was partially because of the trouble we had with these PCs that resulted in me editing the Directors’ Commentary, Final Focus Group and Animatic on iMovie on my laptop from home.
DSLR Camera
Using a DSLR Camera is a significant technical step-up for me from year 12, where I used a camcorder to film our film opening. Getting used to the digital camera was relatively easy as I never found the need to white-balance or anything like that, something that I would have to do several times every time I used a camcorder.
The primary reason digital cameras are superior is the video quality which far exceeds that of a camcorder. Similarly, using the DSLR meant I was able to use a 35-millimetre lens to create a small field of focus and giving a sense of intimacy and insight into Lola’s life through the slider shots and still shots of alcohol bottles.
The one problem I ran into with this camera was that creating effective zooms is very difficult as it requires a perfectly smooth manual extension of the lens, something that I couldn’t manage to perfect, resulting in some zooms in the video looking uneven and unprofessional.
Adobe Premiere Pro
This software was ideal during the post-production process as it was logical and accurate with cuts, transitions and video corrections software, such as colour, lighting and rotation. It was easy to cut to the beat of the song when things were running smoothly as the audio track allowed me to view the frequency of the song and judge confidently where the edits should be.
The main issue we ran into during post-production was that the tool Warp Stabiliser, used to stabilise shaky footage, was missing from the program, resulting in us having to resort to importing the clips into Adobe After Effects and stabilising it there. This led to complications during our re-edit as some of the clips that had been put through After Effects vanished or stopped working, meaning that we were unable to tighten up a few minor sections of the video.
Adobe Photoshop
This was my first time using photoshop and at first, I found it tricky to get the hang of. I used it for my digipak and magazine cover. My design for the digipak required me to use an Intuos Wacom tablet in order to effectively draw in the black and white block design of the final product. Once I started using photoshop in conjunction with the tablet it became easier and I enjoyed being able to work in layers.
The lasso tool, magic wand tool and paint bucket tool made the blotting out much quicker and smoother, meaning that I was able to finish the panels for my digipak in two days. The style was to mimic somewhat the style of the original album cover while incorporating a Banksy-inspired graffiti style to appeal to my youth audience. I also utilised the blur tool and added a yellow and red tint to some of my panels to convey a 70s style to the photography.
Youtube and Facebook
After all the editing and exporting was complete, our final music video for Lola was uploaded to YouTube, where it currently stands at 666 views. YouTube is the most convenient and effective way of publishing video content as it is the leader in the online video market and has almost zero competitive alternatives. It was the best way to get our video online in an easy-to-share format, such as through Facebook. Meg shared Lola through her Facebook account and received lots of positive feedback, encouraging us that the purpose of our video (to show the struggle a person goes through in discovering their gender identity) was conveyed.

Audit: The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Google Play Edition is incredible (for the present) How much better is the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S 4 over Samsung's?.
The express "stock Android" infers the purest Android encounter: an interface free of OEM skins and overlays, a gadget free of transporter limitations and deferred programming updates, and programming that gives the sort of experience Google implied Android clients to have. Sadly, it's uncommon to experience stock Android outside of telephones and tablets that element the Nexus marking—particularly in top of the line telephones like Samsung's Galaxy S 4.
So when Google reported in May at its I/O Developer Conference that it would discharge a stock form of the S 4, we were pleased. The Galaxy S 4 handset is an incredible telephone that is somewhat hindered by an excessive amount of overabundance Samsung things. For both designers and aficionados, the new Google Play release telephones introduce a one of a kind open door. You no longer need to pick between a present day, top of the line Android telephone or a seven-month-old Nexus gadget. With both this and the stock release of the HTC One, you can have both.
What's more, that made them think: does Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 overlay really influence the execution of its Galaxy S 4? Since while the advantage of stock Android may matter to an engineer, why might the normal, unpracticed Android purchaser pick one over the other? When we ran the benchmarks in the underlying survey, the handset played out the best out of the three gadgets at present filled by Snapdragon 600 SoCs. So we were interested to see if the Google Play release of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 could beat its previous self—and whether purchasers ought to genuinely consider one over the other.
An "immaculate" Android encounter
Interface
While its internals and the physical equipment continue as before, the greatest distinction between Samsung's form of the Galaxy S 4 and the Google Play Edition is the interface. The general Galaxy S 4 elements Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 overlay, which offers an immeasurably extraordinary ordeal from Google's untouched Nexus and Google Play release handsets.
TouchWiz is a long ways from stock Android. Its blue tints and air pocket symbols could be viewed as out of date in a few occasions, particularly when contrasted with Android 4.2's Holo interface. As opposed to rearrange the interface down to a couple of alternatives for each page, TouchWiz swarms each screen with additional catches and choices that are regularly hard to recognize. It can be a bit of overpowering at first.
In any case, you can rapidly excuse the conspicuous blue shading and substantial text styles in return for a portion of the additional elements that accompanied TouchWiz's UI. The Quick Settings board, for example, offers prompt access to numerous things that are frequently covered away in the settings menu. In Jelly Bean, it takes a couple taps to get to the menu that really enables you to change the screen brilliance. Samsung likewise gives you a chance to modify everything out of the crate, including the textual style that is shown and the capacity to naturally change the screen tone (which really focuses on the power-sparing preferences of the Galaxy S 4's AMOLED screen).
As opposed to ramble on about the contrasts between the two, here's a fast stroll through of screenshots demonstrating a portion of the key refinements between every variant of the Galaxy S 4 handset.Apps
We officially canvassed some of this in the first S 4 audit, yet to rapidly emphasize: Samsung bundled the gadget with its own particular application, music, and film stores. These are administrations that Google as of now gives appropriate out of the container through Google Play. Apparently, the thought is that you'll start to put your trade out Samsung's offerings, however they don't do much aside from seize up the as of now bloated interface.
Different elements like Air Gesture and Smart parchment function admirably, however they're not so much helpful. I like the stock form of Android without these additional items, and I don't miss any of the unnecessary applications Samsung packs up with its Android gadgets. Regardless of whether they are an aid for battery life stays to be seen, yet you can skip ahead a couple areas in case you're interested.
Camera highlights
The Google Play Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 contains a decent little shock. The new handset—alongside a similar adaptation of the HTC One—highlights the new stock camera interface that was beforehand reputed to come as a piece of the bundle in Android's next programming emphasis. It would appear that Google just felt free to included it with the Google Play releases of the Galaxy S 4 and HTC One. Think of it as a review of what's to come.
The new stock Camera obliges clients to swipe up to get to each setting on the page. The main level features the essential camera orders, while tapping up will raise extra menu choices for every camera mode.
The Samsung-gave camera application, then again, has a large number of exceptional camera highlights concealed in an interface that is hard to explore. When you start up the Camera application, fasten line at the edges of the screen with no genuine refinement. There is additionally no immediate approach to get to one particular settings screen. Rather, everything is spread out into changing classifications, making it hard to simply choose a possibility for the kind of photograph you need to take.
There are likewise quite recently an excessive number of components pressed into Samsung's camera application. For instance, there is a specific Mode catch that gives clients a chance to choose between various settings, similar to Auto Mode, Beauty Face, and Best Photo. The Google Play release of the Galaxy S 4, then again, is without the greater part of these. Clients can modify the introduction, shoot in HDR, screen the white adjust, and look over a couple foreordained Scene modes—it's exceptionally basic and simple to utilize. By examination, the majority of the extra camera modes in Samsung's adaptation of the Galaxy S 4 feel like an oddity that could have been effortlessly supplanted with applications from the Google Play Store.
As indicated by Brian Klug at Anandtech, the greatest distinction between the OEM form of the Galaxy S 4 and the Google Play version is that the honing is either turned down or off on the latter.I couldn't see a remarkable contrast in honing when I initially looked at the photographs. Nonetheless, when you zoom in, you can see that the standard Galaxy S 4 really takes the more honed photograph. Strikingly, the shading looks somewhat blurred contrasted with the Google Play version's result.I additionally tried both the HDR and "night shot" modes just to see the distinction between the two. The stock variant of the Galaxy S 4 took much better low-light photos.Regardless, both telephones took superbly fit photographs. The main contrast is that Samsung's adaptation of the Galaxy S 4 is more stuffed with incidental camera settings, while the stock rendition of the Camera application is less difficult and considerably less demanding to utilize.
Battery life
You'd assume that with all the additional stuff that Samsung packs into its handset, it would be particularly exhausting on battery life, yet that turned out not to be the situation. In a straight on video test, the Google Play Edition Galaxy S 4 diminished route before its OEM partner. For the tests, the show shine was set to 50 percent, and the volume was turned up the distance.
As each telephone spilled an eight-hour video of an unwinding waterfall on the Chrome program, the Google Play version of the Galaxy S 4 totally wiped out following six hours and 45 minutes—it consumed through around 13 percent of its battery life every hour that it played video. The customary Galaxy S 4, in any case, was all the while hanging solid at 20 percent when the stock variant stopped, which means it just devoured around 11 percent of its battery life every hour. Indeed, even with power sparing mode off on the Galaxy S 4, my slant is that Samsung incorporates control settings that help the handset devour all the more proficiently, in this way prompting a more extended enduring battery life.Just to toss a torque in with the general mish-mash, when we played out a similar battery test with the Nexus 4 at 100 percent battery life, it spilled through five hours and 45 minutes of the eight-hour video before it began shouting for a charge at five percent.Device execution can be a decent marker of whether a gadget running a stock Android interface picks up favorable position over a similar gadget impeded with an OEM-constrained interface overlay. As we expected, the Google Play release of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 beat both the TouchWiz adaptation of the Galaxy S 4 and LG's Nexus 4. Not at all like the Google Play release of the HTC One, both the S 4s were running precisely the same of Android, which enables us to make a more straightforward correlation between the execution of the two phones. All three of the tests underneath were done utilizing the versatile adaptation of Google's Chrome program. The Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S 4 surpassed the other two handsets a significant bit.To Play or not to Play
My greatest issue with the general Samsung-promoted Galaxy S 4 is that it depends too intensely on gimmicky elements. The majority of the additional items attach such a large number of various components to the telephone that customers won't not utilize or nurture. Furthermore, the greater part of these are capacities customers can add on later—that is the magnificence of outsider applications. To be reasonable, those additional items aren't things that buyers can download from the application store in a few occasions. For instance, one setting changes the hues to make them less brilliant, which brings some relief the AMOLED show and spares a touch of battery. Be that as it may, generally, Samsung appears to pack these additional items into the telephone to give buyers a reason not to trouble with what Google gives. Tragically, it would be shockingly better if there were a glad medium—an approach to at any rate quit highlights you wouldn't regularly utilize and stay with those that really enhance execution.
Now, it's all subjective. Your choice to pick between the Google Play Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and Samsung's out-of-the-crate adaptation depends totally all alone.

Switching from Mac day-to-day Pc: Selecting a daily
New Post has been published on https://pressography.org/switching-from-mac-day-to-day-pc-selecting-a-daily/
Switching from Mac day-to-day Pc: Selecting a daily
I’m devoted everyday switching from a Mac daily a day-to-day, and the subsequent step is to start shopping. While you haven’t used whatever however Macs for close to many years, the sheer quantity and kind of Home windows alternatives poses a task. So, whilst I researched which new Windows PC would be awesome in shape for me, I spent a while experimenting with the first Windows every day I ought to get my hands on my Mac.
                                  Switching From Mac
Desktop PC
Easing in everyday Home windows thru Bootcamp
Most modern-day Apple computer systems come with Boot Camp Assistant—a program designed day-to-day turn your Apple daily right into a gadget which could twin-boot day-to-day Home windows. A copy of Home windows 10 Domestic may be had for $120 (or downloaded and used totally free with constrained options,) so the usage of the OS with Boot Camp is a remarkable way to see what Microsoft has every day offer earlier than you every day every day a daily.
Sadly, my red meat with Apple includes several unresolved hardware issues. As such, I wanted a fresh start with a new daily.
The Surface E-book may be my every day every day and my tablet
My daily desires are stressful. I travel continuously, so I should every day have a lapping day every day. As a journalist, my international revolves around typing, internet research, and enhancing daily or video. A number of my work takes me day-to-day hard environments, so stable build every dairy every day is vital. I also miss gaming on my PS4 console, something I had to surrender for my nomadic lifestyle.
With all of this in thoughts, I decided daily to take the plunge with a Microsoft Floor Ebook. There are exact reasons why it’s taken into consideration the every day of Windows leap day-to-day. It has a high-resolution 13.three-inch show, an every day magnesium case, 512GB of storage (essential for while I’m able to get right of entry to the cloud,) an Intel Middle i7 cell processor, 16GB of RAM, and a discrete portraits card that’s fantastic for gaming. It also has a detachable display that I’m able to use as a pill. The icing on the cake: I’m able to use Microsoft’s Surface Pen (the counterpart everyday Apple’s Pencil for its iPads) for noodling with Adobe Lightroom.
It’s a configuration that costs quite a few cash, however, it does precisely what I need it every day do, and it replaces numerous one-of-a-kind devices—my iPad, my dearly departed gaming console, and my MacBook Pro.
This might be greater day-to-day than you need, or maybe you need some thing with even greater processing electricity. I’m able to shop for you, however, as a current Apple escapee, I’m able to give you some fundamental advice on what daily consider earlier than dropping any coins on new hardware.
Define your needs and wants
Locating a daily which, at least, can cut the same mustard as your cutting-edge Mac is an absolute day-to-day. Permits begin with the fundamentals: What do you currently use your Apple daily for? What would like your new Home windows every day everyday day-to-day do? Adding the gadgets from your wish-listing that you may find the money for makes the transition from one platform daily the opposite extra attractive.
If you’re an artist or cope with an every day of PDFs, perhaps a hint show or one that’ll work with a Wacom pen, is the way to move. Do you need your new day-to-day everyday feature as a tablet for analyzing in bed? There’s no scarcity of contact-enabled Windows lap daily ps that fold in 1/2 or come aside so that you can use them as a pill. Or skip this feature and stick with your iPad—but it daily is stated, having contact and pen abilities on a full modern daily is something substantially lacking from Mac OS which you might welcome in Home windows.
You’ll want a day-to-day bear in mind the disadvantage of any of the capabilities that you need, every day. Lapeverydayps with touch-sensitive displays generally demands extra battery electricity than conventional models, as an example.
The CPU is the coronary heart of the matter
As Mac customers, we had little desire approximately which CPU our day-to-day used. For years, it’s been not anything but Intel. Intel CPUs dominate In Home windows lap every day, day-to-day, however, the options could make your head spin. (We’re no longer even concerning desktop CPUs, which may be determined in excessive-end gaming leap day-to-day in addition to traditional every day were, with new AMD Ryzen CPUs Including in addition complexity.)
Mac Virus
If you want daily to perform a little gaming, paintings with CAD software or video editing, seize a day-to-day with a Core i7 processor. My Floor E-book makes use of the sixth era (Skylake) Middle i7-6600U, a dual-Center mobile processor, however, more modern lapidary-to-days are rocking seventh-technology Kaby Lake CPUs that provide a bit extra performance and efficiency.
In case your needs include lighter gaming, enhancing every day, phrase processing, and internet surfing, go with a less costly Middle i5, or if the rate is a trouble, a Middle i3 (although you’ll take successfully in processing electricity by means of doing so).
You’ll locate gradual performance, however, better battery life with Intel Everyday chips. Intel Celeron? Quicker than an Everyday CPU, however, they get lousy battery existence. Then there’s Intel Core M (additionally observed within the MacBook 2016), low-powered chips that offer decent overall performance, but can’t touch the oomph you’ll get from a Core i5 or i7 chip.
Ugh. Mastering approximately these things is like falling down a rabbit hole, and a great case, it reminds you that Windows Pcs are day-to-day far extra often than Macs are. If you can, ask a daily-savvy pal for help (I did). In any other case, PCWorld’s pleasant Lapeverydayps feature can come up with an informative assessment plus our day-to-day pointers.
On the subject of RAM and pressure space, I’ll come up with the equal advice I give all my friends: Buy as a good deal as you may manage to pay for.
The greater RAM you have got, the Faster your machine will run while acting responsibilities, in particular In case you run more than one packages or want to stack up a number of browser tabs. storage? greater programs, more movies, more track—extra the whole thing. We live in an age where a whole lot of our media is streamed now, but having the space day-to-day keep crucial files prepared at a second’s observe without a wi-fi connection is nothing however win.
photos and display technology
Windows lap everyday ups come in eleven-, 12-, thirteen-, and 15-inch show sizes, daily Apple does. but you’ll additionally discover 10-inch models accessible. A 17-inch show is not unusual, day-to-day. Heck, Acer’s Prada every day 21 X offers a curved 21-inch display. In case you’re the usage of your daily for picture enhancing, gaming, layout, or In case you do a whole lot of multitasking, you’ll possibly need a larger show.
There’s also show decision every day consider. Luckily, even el-cheapo box-shop specials generally come with 1080p presentations, what we’d day-to-day the baseline. If you have the coins, you’ll discover lap daily ps with 4K/UHD presentations baked in daily them, day-to-day. My advice is to ignore the hype and believe your eyes. If you edit 4K video for a dwelling, going with an extremely-excessive-decision display is. but In case you’re just searching daily iTunes movies, surf the net or video chat, chances are you’ll be happier with a less pricey alternative.
every day the bigger the show, the more battery life it’s going to call for. a larger display manner a larger chassis, everydayo—which means extra weight to carry Whilst you tour and much less room for your bag. discover the balance that works for you.
As for the pics processor, all lap daily ps grapple with controlling warmth in ever-thinner instances. Most Windows lap daily ups come with incorporated pix chips that provide good enough or higher overall performance, with varying thermal hundreds.
Mac customers who’re deep in day-to-day first-character shooters or call for photos have historically had daily everyday gaming consoles or high-top Macs with Retina shows. A Home windows PC with a committed photos card might feed the equal need, but this selection may have a dramatic impact on your every day every day’s weight, battery lifestyles, and fee. In case you’re a casual gamer who unearths joy in playing older video games like Civilization V or simply need daily watch movies, a daily with incorporated pictures will fee you less money and day-to-day nevertheless prove pleasant.
The inner specifications of any PC you Buy won’t count number every day you In case you hate the use of it. before you Purchase whatever, visit a shop and spend a while typing on it. Use the trackpad substantially. Listen daily the audio system. Ensure it has the ports you need and they’re placed in a way that makes them easy day-to-day use. daily the blessings of brick-and-mortar shops every day: you may stroll away with the daily you need without shipping expenses, and likely simpler return policies If you change your mind. If you make a decision every day buy online, test the go back policy closely. At any store, be careful with res everyday king costs.
Days spoilers
a brand new day-to-day is a massive purchase. You deserve to be glad about it. Subsequent time we’ll speak about Finding replacements for Some of your favored MacOS software.

Microsoft Great Plains 7.5 On Pervasive SQL Migration To Windows 2008 Server Notes
Guide To Choosing An Workplace Chair
Dave Evans develops Linux NTP Server synchronisation systems to guarantee precise time on PC’s and personal computer networks. International Business Foundation stated, Motives for Hong Kong overpowering London workplace rental value is supposedly powered by rising prime rents on the back of healthful requirement and anabsence of space.” Workplace and apartment costs in Hong Kong are anticipated to rise even much more by 2015. If you are going to be tackling a decorating interior design and style workplace furnishings companies in chennai project soon, set a deadline for the moment that you will cease looking and start off decorating. Our dual socket workstation provides you the functionality and flexibility of an HPC method since this workstation has two processors. I feel a decent i7 and a minimum of a Quadro 2000 (i would not advocate a decrease graphics card than this, otherwise CAD operate will be tedious, but try to go larger if possible) need to suffice.
