i'm sure there's a numerological reason for this that they didn't cover in my medieval lit classes but i think 6 is known as the evil number because it's 3 (number of perfection) multiplied by 2 (least trustworthy, stable number), creating the mirror image of perfection. likewise 8 is the 2nd most evil number because it's the two worst numbers multiplied (2, see above; 4, traditional number of death). it's not as evil as 2 (base numerical evil) but more evil than 6 (still a multiple of the number of perfection). 7 can contain evil numbers but 7 is the most of-itself number on the number line so the evil cancels out. 5 isn't really evil but i hate it. it's a smug number, true neutral, so intensely boring that i'd say it's being boring out of spite but i don't think it has the gumption for spite. and 9 is the backbone of our society, no number has such beautiful multiples as 9. did you ever notice that the multiples of 9 from 1-10 are mirror images of each other? no one appreciates 9. eight-track tapes should have been nine-track tapes and i'll stand by that til my dying day.

the current thing im debating with my loki build is how im gonna finish the cardigan-
There seems to be three main paths i see: a full lining, french seams, or bound seams. each way has its own pros and cons, so its a case of figuring out which cons are best.
Full Lining
Completely lining the cardigan is by far the easiest way to neatly finish the cardigan. i could leave it completely flat or incorporate the seaming into the lining, i think either would look good. it'd have no visible stitching and be completely clean, and if i was making this as a fashion piece this'd probably be the way i would go HOWEVER, a full lining adds a whole layer of fabric- thats an extra layer of bulk, of warmth. Loki's already gonna be a hot costume, with leather and corsets and fur, and on top of that she's going to be Heavy. i think it'd be the best if i can cut down on extra layers wherever possible, and a full lining would be the obvious thing to scrap.
French Seams
French seams are the classic 'clean' seam finish. in some regards they would be easier to execute than bound seams, and they would obviously match the fabric perfectly. on the cons, they use more fabric in double seam allowance and i am limited to what i have (i think i have plenty, but still). my main concern with these is that the seams are curved, and curved seams are not the best for french seams. im worried that the shaping on the seams will make the execution harder, and even pucker and pull because they arent perfectly aligned. (additionally im working in taffeta and i worry it could be Problem Fabric)
Bound Seams
Bound seams generally negate all the problems of french seams. the tape is on the bias, so is more flexible to go around the curves, and means i can cut down the amount of the fashion fabric i can use. however the premade binding can only be so much of a colour match (unless i do a contrast? im not sure about that though) and there will most likely be visible stitching because im not hand catching down every single one of those panels- which is a thing unto itself. catching the reverse of binding is The Worst for me, and even if you topsew it on, one side always ends up wiggly and wonky. i feel like id probably end up super frustrated by the end of All Those Seams...
so! those are the immediate things i can think of as pros and cons for each method, though im sure theres something im forgetting! its generally something im just gonna have to. think on as i get going through this. its all a lot of work to do in 2 months
(attaching a poll so you can offer input without having to type a reply! feel free to ignore it but i wanted to offer the option if you read all this ''''':) )
