you're genuinely missing out if you don't read stede as having a funky superpower that protects him from the horrors of the world when he's being true to himself and deserts him when he tries to emulate the idea of a man the world wants to impose on him.

he defeats the badmintons without trying because they're bullies and they're just plain wrong all the time. they attack everything that makes stede lovely: his tender heart, his love of soft things, his beautiful body. they mock him and they hurt him and they die for it practically without stede having to lift a finger. the narrative avenges him.

he bewitches ed body and soul without realizing he's doing it, just by being himself, because he's funny and sweet and he gets ed's love for the bit and he's the first person who's happy to join in on his silly games. also because he's kind and generous and an absolute bitch, and because he makes ed feel safe to let down his armor around him, which is the thing ed wants most in the world. and so ed rescues him from the firing squad, because stede's unwittingly earned his devotion.

he turns the crew's opinions about him around in a few weeks by telling them bedtime stories and doing the voices for them without shame, like they're his kids. he comes up with fun activities for them, encourages them to talk about their feelings and offers to share his books with them (not his clothes tho. he's silly and oblivious and a spoiled only child after all). so by the time the british show up they've started thinking maybe things are better this way, maybe stede's showed them a better way of living (olu knew all along because he's soft and smart too), and they rally to defend him.

he defeats a much more skilled and experienced swordsman by thinking on his feet and being whimsical, throws izzy off his game by smacking him in the ass with his sword instead of stabbing him because he knows he can't win, so he comes up with a tactic that has the most chances of success for him in the moment.

he rescues the crew from zheng's ship by knowing about chamomile (sure, jan) and being the congenial towel guy. he rescues the crew and everyone else again from ricky and his goons by making them play dress up, and it works!!!! (minus that one exception, you know). he has the situation under control with ned's gang within minutes just by listening and paying attention to the way they feel about him and his treatment of them. he knows exactly what to say to turn them around, compliments hellkat maggie so deliciously because he's a charming bastard at all times.

but he's lost the magical protection of his whimsical stedeness by turning against himself by the time he's picking a fight with zheng. he's spinning with unresolved trauma and heartbroken and probably exhausted and hangover by the time she tries to poach olu, jim and archie, and then she insults ed (not cool, girl), so he lashes out. he's not defending or protecting anyone this time, not his crew nor ed nor himself. zheng isn't a bully or a villain, she hasn't attacked anyone, only accidentally hurt his feelings. he's lost sigh of the goal that's driven him since the beginning of season 1. there's no ed by his side and he isn't running towards him, he's not working to make a nice, safe world for the people he loves either.

he felt attacked by low the previous night for not measuring up to the ideal of a man and a pirate that's constantly being dangled in front of him, and he triggered his most painful memories by killing him the way he did and then refused to deal with them, chose to overcompensate and throw himself wholly into pursuing that ideal instead. and this is the price he has to pay: his crew wants to leave with zheng and she humiliates him in public and kicks his ass (very cool, girl). every trick he tries to pull fails, like a wizard that's been cut off from his magic.

it's not until he's reorganized his priorities the next morning and he's back to being stede that things turn around for him (but not until he's near ed again, zheng still has to rescue him from the two british soldiers he tries to ambush). and even then he's not a perfect fighter, can fend for himself but needs help to pull his sword out of that one guy so he can run towards ed. and it's so important that he needs help and that he gets it. it's been stede against the world his whole life, and now he finally has allies and friends and a lover who will support him and fight for him.

Get Back Rewatch 55 Years On: Day 13

Ah it’s “coordinate with the carpet” day.

John could probably say “2+2=3” and Paul would be like “Oh you're sooo right, John.”

Literally the ADHD antics (jumping over a chair because it’s there and you can and it would be funner than going around) are so relatable.

Ringo putting Zac’s picture up? I don’t know much about him as a dad. Does anyone know? I mean I know part of the reason he and Mo left india was because they missed their kids, and in late 66 when John was making HIWTW and Paul was working on TFW and George was off learning filthy eastern ways, Ringo stayed home and ‘enjoyed the baby’. Was he a really good dad?

John: I really liked how that lead singer was singing so soft and nice. Paul: like this, John? Like this? John? John, look at me, do you like this?

Literally why are you even there, Yoko. Like, genuinely, not for the bands sake or anything, but for your own sake, go find somewhere else to be! Something, something, one of the few ways to find success as a woman was to attach yourself to a man and she was hustling with the best feminist tools available okay, okay. Ugh, I just don't know if I could stomach it.

I heard John say “Rickie and the Red Streaks” and I was like, ummm, did you mean “Suzie and the Red Stripes”? But apparently it’s a real band. They were in the same Cavern show as the Beatles when they came back from Hamburg but never made it big. And Paul was purposely referencing them with Linda's pretend band because, as he said, he would have been happy to just have been them instead of the Beatles. 

“John, can you take a little bit of bass off your guitar?” The faces. Paul told him to take some bass off a minute ago, didn't he? Or he just knows how much John hates to be told that. Anyway it's the silent communication for me.

Paul: *stops his little wordless moan-singing for two seconds*. John: Everybody had a wet drea–SING, Paul! Paul: Ooohh yeah! He’s sooo happy I’m melting. Paul McCartney wants one thing in this life, and it’s for John Lennon to tell him to sing.

“He would’ve been president, you know.” John, bless your naive, lovely heart. 

Paul: shrieking. John: moves the microphone the way a mom takes the sharpie out of her toddler’s hand. 

“If you can get ‘em off Mimi’s wall.” I have a hard time with Mimi. Sometimes she’s adorable. Sometimes she’s horrible. I really can’t get a read. And maybe that was the problem. Maybe John couldn’t either. 

This moment. My little ND baby. Someone just hit your g spot, didn’t they? But to be fair, it is incredibly impressive. Billy has never heard the song before, and he just jumps in with the perfect fill? I love Billy. So talented, such a cutie, so cool, so kind. And look at him. Having such a good time.

The silent communication again here. “Are you hearing this?” “Yeah, baby, I’m hearing this.” Then, John vocalizes the decision. How many Beatles decisions were made like this? Thinking specifically of Brian's account of their decision for him to manage, but probably this happened constantly. 

Yoko reading “The Beatles Complete History”. I love that she’s like, “Everything John tells me is ‘Paul this, Paul that, wah, wah, wah’. I need to get some cold hard facts.” 

Billy’s piano actually is insanely sexy though.

John: *complains about his rock and roll finger* Paul, turning up the scouse: Come on, son, now try your hardest. John continues, soft, needy' Lookie, look at him. *holding up his finger* Paul, genuine: Ah, I know. I just love the different ways they take care of each other. 

Poor George, dissociating himself into another dimension as John’s crooning about Paul’s eating habits. Look. At. How. He’s. Looking. At. Him. You’d think Paul was in that moment creating the heavens and the earth. Nope. Just rocking back and forth like a catatonic, probably getting crumbs all in his greasy beard.

But seriously HOW is everyone in this room watching these two men, taking in to account all of their behaviors, scream "All I want is you!" at each other and not forcing them immediately into either fucking or therapy or both?!

well, he proceeds to ASK you what your name is even if you’ve been a friend of his since like forever

laughs too loudly at your joke and makes everyone stare at you two 😃

• Hanbin likes to make coffee for you and his members in the mornings.

• If you're not already with him in the dorms but he knows he will see you, he will make one in your own special to-go cup.

• You both have one and you decorated them yourselves.

• They're filled with cute stickers, doodles, and sweet nothings.

• When you are in the dorm you can count on being wrapped around Hanbin's waist as he drags you along whilst making coffee.

• If or when he makes food, you are his professional taste tester.

• If Hanbin is in the kitchen, chances are you will be too.

• Hanbin is obnoxiously a morning person.

• Like I mean this man is up and ready to go in 10 minutes whilst you and all of the other members are still waking up.

• And so if you get too sleepy Hanbin will sit you on the counter and come over to cuddle you whenever he gets the chance.

✿ 𝙺. 𝙹𝚒𝚠𝚘𝚘𝚗𝚐 -

• Being the oldest of the group, when everyone orders takeout, you and Jiwoong sometimes take responsibility of ordering food when Leader Hanbin isn't available or just to help him out.

• You basically tag-team it. One person finding out and writing down orders and the other ordering the food on the phone.

• Most of the time, it goes smoothly.

• Mother and Father moment.

• When everything has been ordered, you proudly smirk at eachother and share a smooth high-five.

• The 04s watch and commentate on it like a sport. When they know food is about to be ordered they gather, tell you their orders first and watch it go down.

• Gyuvin narrates what is happening and Ricky adds a comedic remark here and there.

• This also means you and Jiwoong find yourselves swatting them away when something doesn't go according to plan.

• Almost like a military operation. Theres a lot of hungry people waiting and a lot of food to order. It's of utmost importance!

J: "Okay, is that everything?"

Y: "I am 98% sure."

J: "We don't need 98% Y/n we need 100. Can you give me 100% certainty?"

Y: "Yes sir!"

G: "It looks like our players have a bit of a mixup on their hands. They're rechecking the orders. A recount! Will they make it in time?"

J: "Yah Gyuvin! Out!"

R: "Oooh and Gyuvin strikes out!"

Y: "You too Ricky!"

R+G: "Fine..."

J: "Wait... Should we ask again?"

Y: "Babe. I'm sure it's right."

✿ 𝚉. 𝙷𝚊𝚘 -

• Sometimes when you get to the ZB1 dorms, finding Hao is difficult.

• My guy tells no one where he is off to.

• Which is fair because if he wants privacy, it needs to be that way.

• However, chances are that when you can't find him, he will be somewhere playing his violin.

• His violin is a way for him to relieve stress.

• You are another.

• He instantly calms down when you are around.

• He says you help clear his head and help him get his thoughts straight.

• He thinks more rationally when you are around.

You walk up behind Hao. He is sat on a stool facing out of his window, his hands skillfully playing a chorus of notes on his violin. As you reach him you carefully place your hands on his shoulders and a gentle kiss on his cheek.

"Hi baby." You say lovingly, your hands moving further down his chest, leaning fully on him, as he lowers the instrument.

"Hello my love." He responds with a sweet smile.

He sighs in content as he holds your arms and closes his eyes, resting his head against your shoulder.

"Long day?"

"Mhm."

"Want to lay down and talk about it?"

"I think I'd rather just lay down with you."

"We could also do that."

✿ 𝚂. 𝙼𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚠 -

• You and Matthew are the couple that always have one show that you are watching together.

• Whether it be a soppy K-drama or a cringey YA series, you both are addicted.

• I'm not kidding, everytime you guys meet in one another's house, you have to watch at least one episode.

• You often shush and shoo away people who intrude, not wanting to miss important scenes.

• You also often disagree on situations in the show.

M: "I'm telling you, she's gonna end up with ___"

Y: "No! But ___ is so good for her! They'd be great together!"

M: "Yeah, I get that, but he likes ___ and so he's gonna get with her."

Y: "No, you're wrong, that's what the show wants you to think!"

H: "Hey, Matthew, have you seen my-"

M: "Shh! He's confessed!"

Y: "Wait it's a cliffhanger?!"

M: "Oh my god! How could they do that?!"

H: "Nevermind..."

✿ 𝙺. 𝚃𝚊𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚎 -

• Many times Taerae has tried to teach you how to play the guitar.

• But to no avail.

• Instead he offers to play an acoustic version of your favourite songs for you to sing along to.

• He provides excellent backing vocals.

• He sits on one end of your bed, watching you sing.

• He thinks you look beautiful whilst singing.

• When your eyes flutter shut, how you scrunch your face to reach the high notes. Your laugh when you forget the lyrics.

• He truly is your biggest fan.

• When you get tired of singing he will serenade you.

• Singing cheesy love songs to make you blush.

• Not only will he sing to you for fun. He will also sing you to sleep.

• You lay next to him, Taerae resting on his elbow looking down at you as he gently brushes hair out of your face. He quietly sings a slow song as you fall asleep.

✿ 𝚂. 𝚁𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚢 -

• You and Ricky love going out and exploring the city.

• Whether you go shopping, find a new café, or just walk around or take pictures, you both love it and have so much fun.

• As the night gets later the temperature gets colder, and eventually it is so cold that the two of you can see your breaths in the air.

• A lot of the time you get much colder than Ricky and he ends up giving you one of his jackets.

• You and Ricky usually decide to find a few street food stalls to walk around, both for the food and the warmth they would provide.

• If your hands get cold so he offers to feed you so you hold a heat pack or put your hands in your pockets.

• Ricky always gives you the last bite.

i know that a lot of people say that ricky’s confession to nini in 1x10 is cringey and you can tell joshua improvised it but i think it was perfect for rini because everything he said was never shown in the show

in his confession, he goes on about past experiences w nini that we as the audience never saw. this is so perfect for rini because the sole reason they came back to each other in the first place was because gina left and they started talking about their past in 1x08.

ricky specifically was growing after he stopped chasing nini in 1x05 and where he started to really get closer to gina. gina is the embodiment of change, and ricky absolutely hates change. she helped him a lot, he’d reach to text nini or something like that and then gina would end up saying the right things needing to help him.

ricky and nini only started to “fall back in love” after gina left. ricky didn’t think he would ever see gina again (her saying there’s no point in calling her anymore and not responding to his dozens of texts) so he ended up regressing back to who he was pre-gina.

this included being in love with nini.

and this may not make sense and may sound dumb but i think it just summarizes rini’s relationship, the fact that them coming back together was based on moments the audience never saw.

we never saw rini as kids, ricky microwaving her doll, them coming up with their nicknames for each other, etc. everything they reminisce on before.

ofc the show isn’t gonna show this stuff because the show is in the present, not their past.

but i find it interesting that their memories are somewhat baseless to the audience because we never see them.

whereas with gina’s confession in 3x08, we saw everything she looked back on. when they met, her giving him the hat, etc. everything with rina, we saw. we saw them both grow. we saw them help each other. we saw gina validate ricky and support him during his world falling apart while everyone else was berating him. and we saw ricky accept gina when no one else did, him being her first friend at east high and help her break down her walls a little. i imagine she doesn’t let herself get emotionally attached to anyone whenever she moves, so it doesn’t hurt when she leaves. that’s why in the beginning she primarily looks out for herself and has her walls up.

ricky breaks down those walls, and she later gets hurt because she let them down. since he got back with nini after thinking he would never see her again.

“maybe i’m safer when i’m on the run, no time to open up my heart. maybe i’ll hide behind my walls again, instead of tearing them apart.”

anyway

sorry, just a random thing that i liked about the show, the fact that rini’s whole foundation was based on them romanticizing their past; it just foreshadowed that they weren’t going to last.

☣ Now before I say anything "why are all the boys with each other" uhm cause I was indecisive on if I liked starrypoet, spacerap, or nischa better, I still ship mischalia honestly sometimes even more. So I just threw the rest of them into the polycule regardless

☣ He is a short king, short Mischa truthers rise he is literally only an inch taller than Ocean, she probably intimidates him more than the other way away around (Need more absolutely unhinged Ocean's who are one point away from screaming at someone, Trinity theater Ocean changed my life/j)

☣ He's practically Ezra's adoptive older brother at this point, bond over the Saw franchise and ICP. He's surprisingly good with kids, like he's a good guy he just looks intimidating and crusty, which I did on purpose. But he is literally the sweetest one in the choir, super physically affectionate, gives good hugs.

☣ Along with Penny he also constantly looks like he's been shoved down a flight of stairs, which he claims is because he's gotten into fights. It's not, he just fell down the stairs like her. He wants to think he's all tough and everything but it's like the complete opposite, he's a dork.

☄ They are best friends with pretty much everyone except Ocean for obvious reasons. Constance and them make Kandi together. He's wearing two Kandi necklaces on his uniform, both of them loosely based on the Kandi singlets I made for the choir members. (which of course you have no context to unless you're the like 5 people I've shown them to.)

☄ They're breaking so many dress code rules and the school is just too tired to care. Dyes his hair regularly with Constance, also I know lots of people love the Savannah Potts hc, it's cute!! But I physically cannot draw masc presenting people without shitty facial hair. It's an addiction. I'm so sorry.

☄ Their art style definitely is similar to the late 2000s anime style every shitty windows movie maker slideshow presentation had. with a mix of warrior cats and sparkle dogs. I couldn't really present that in the like 4 inch amount of space I gave myself.

☄ Him and Constance have matching tamagotchis, Noel also used to have one but it died and he sobbed for hours and never wanted to touch it again out of sheer guilt of killing a virtual pet.

ricky was your boyfriend and someone you've known for a long time. but since ricky was busy promoting 'in bloom', you never wanted to worry him about you.

one day when you were sitting at your desk, yet again studying for another night, you got a call from ricky.

you needed a break anyways and picked up the call, on the other end you heard his sweet voice say your name.

"(name)! can you believe it?! our song ranked first on the melon chart!" he exclaimed. you heard his members shouting in the background.

you smiled, "yeah, congrats ricky!" but he could tell from the tone of your voice that something was up.

"is everything okay?" his tone changed to be more concerned sounding.

"uh...i guess. it's just a lot of stress, you know, studying and managing personal issues." you didn't know why but you felt scared to open up to ricky about this, but you knew he would never judge you.

"ah, i see." he began, "do you want to meet up and we can talk? maybe to get your mind off of things?" he suggested. your eyes lit up at him saying that, you haven't been able to see him in a while and he was taking time out of his schedule to meet with you.

"really? you can do that?" he chuckled, "i can do anything baby. i'll ask our manager and see if we can have time to meet up." suddenly you were so thankful you ran into him at the park where you two first met.

"thank you so much ricky, you really know how to brighten my day."

"of course, i'll see you later okay?", you didn't want to hang up but knew he had other things to do, "yeah, see you. i love you."

"i love you too. bye!" and with that the call cut.

that same night ricky texted you and said that you two could meet together the next day at the park where you first met him. your heart was fluttering at the memories of that day. when ricky approached you and tried conversing with you, despite being obviously shy and stumbling over his words when he saw you.

the next day, you put on your best outfit and walked to the nearby park. it was pretty busy with locals and their pets hanging out. some kids were running around and laughing.

you were going to look for a spot to sit and that's when you spotted him. there was ricky sitting there with a picnic basket and pink blanket! he was looking around the park trying to find you!

what made it even more special was that he was sitting at the same place you were those years ago.

you called out his name and his eyes widened as he grinned, waving at you. you quickly ran towards him and pulled him into your arms.

"i missed you." he giggled and held your hand gently when you pulled away. "me too. i wanted to make this day special so i brought some homemade food."

you gasped, "you made this for me?!" he nodded then took out some of the food. there was some sandwiches with snacks included. the sandwiches included cream and strawberries inside.

"well not just me, gyuvin and matthew offered to help." you saw how the strawberries looked a bit smushed and ricky quickly defended himself, "that was gyuvin's."

you pressed your lips on his, "even if it is smushed i appreciate your hard work in doing this for me. i couldn't have asked for someone better."

ricky softly put your head on his shoulder. "i'm glad. i hope this helped you take a break from everything..."

"just having you with me is a reliever ricky. i'm so thankful you did this for me."

the silence was comforting. the sound of the trees moving and people chatting made the aroma better. after speaking to ricky about what has recently been going on in your life with him continuously holding your hand, you indulged in the sandwiches (you had the one that ricky made since he insisted you eat his) and drank his homemade milkshakes.

just having him listen to your worries and letting you rant with no interruptions was all you needed. this was what you needed all along and ricky was the perfect person you could be completely honest and open with.

when the sunset approached, you decided to walk home with your boyfriend. it was then that you had to go separate ways but you didn't want to escape ricky's warm embrace.

"hanbin hyung is going to scold me if i don't make it by eight." ricky joked, opening his phone to see the group chat bombarding him with questions of where he went.

"then if you're going your own way, i want to say thank you ricky. all my stress has worn away by being with you. you seriously have made everything better. i'm so glad to call you mine."

without words, he closed the gap between you two and kissed you directly on the lips. your hand went to cup his cheek and his wrapped around your waist.

you didn't want to pull away but ricky's phone buzzed causing you both to jump and release from the kiss.

"it's hanbin hyung." you pouted, "promise me you'll invite me to go on another date when you have free time?" you put your pinky finger out.

he interlinked your pinky's and kissed you on the cheek, "for sure."

ricky left first, waving at you the whole time until he was out of sight, you sighed but began walking home on your path.

though he was always busy, he was always there to comfort you. you were not alone today thanks to ricky.

→ I don't like her. I personally think that she bullies others subtly and thinks she's above everyone.

Noel - bullies him (subtly) for being gay and not feeding into the stereotypes she believes.

Mischa - looks down on him for being a "bad boy”, scared of him for an RBF

Ricky - Just ablist towards him. Uses him as a scape goat for trouble.

Penny - Thinkis that she's weird and shoe-in for the chior. Looks down on her for her crimes and family.

Ezra - Same as Penny but very too vocal

Constance - Unknowingly manpulating her. Just a bad friend.

Noel Gruber

→ Sensitive, a poet. Wants to live life to its fullest but over all, scared of that. Dials his everything back.

Ocean - bullied by her constantly. That's about it.

Mischa - huge crush on nim, wrote letters and burnt them without giving nim then.

Ricky - they don’t interact much

Penny - thinks she's cool, hangs out wiher and gushes over Johnny Moon with her

Ezra - Talk abt European nihilism together as well as obscure entertainment

Constance - they bake together and he’s in classes with her

→ I'm going to heep close to his catchphrase here, tough exterior soft interior

Ocean - Doesn't care much for her, but stands up to her she's bothering others

Noel - Thinks he's cute realizes/falls in love with him later (depending if AUs are involved)

→ Weird kid, wholehearted, nice. Is mean when She needs to be though, not afraid to state opinions.

Ricky - <3 crush, knows all Zolarian lore

Ezra - Friends + Siblings to the end, clun. Brings him with her to chior so then he's also not alone

A/N: as a genshin player and zb1 enjoyer, i own a wealth of knowledge. if you don't know what i'm referencing or talking about then i'm sorry lmao i get rly into genshin

WHALES 🐋

GYUVIN - ok puppy dog has no spending sense and would swipe swipe swipe until he got the character. or somehow get his account robbed and card details stolen. wouldn't swipe for c6 on characters but would swipe for all the skins.

plot goes soaring over his head. though, he'd get 100% completion completely on accident bc he runs from chest to chest completing everything bc ooh shiny. (it's what i do)

definitely hops across different coop worlds to be an absolute menace. steals all your starconches, beatles and cor lapis and leaves.

a whale so team comp doesn't quite matter, but i feel like cool burst animation is a must.

RICKY - need i explain? he doesn't even play the game often, he just sees a cool looking character and swipes. feels like he would c6r5 a character if he really liked them. would get surprisingly into event content just for the exclusive items etc. cares mildly about the plot and zero for the exploration.

would play cool and pretty characters bc when you're a whale, team composition just doesn't matter.

META 🎮

MATTHEW - a confirmed nerd by his sister so you bet he's an enthusiast. pays attention to kqm, twitter and future patch leaks. grinds out for the spiral abyss and has op asf team combos. would spend but only if he knows it's worth it.

enjoys the plot and characters, but not massive on exploration. still enjoys all the characters thoroughly and knows more lore tidbits than most. is the sweetest coop friend.

GUNWOOK - okokok he'd be apprehensive at first until he pulls like c5 benny and a eula then the world of dps (damage per screenshot) awakens. fights wars in the trenches of the honeyhunterworld comments section. stays updated and dips in and out of the game.

secretly stays about for plot. finds exploration boring but can admit it's pretty. the dude who refuses to swap characters when doing coop domains. does a boss blitz when bored.

CASUALS 💫

HANBIN - ok only got it bc the kids said he should. (gyuvin uses him to get the coop achievements) actually ended up staying bc wow everything is gorgeous, the plot is engaging and the characters have depth! and it's all free ?? goes about it at a decent pace, doesn't do spiral often, just finishing floor 10.

tcg enjoyer and event player.

ZHANG HAO - TEAPOT MAIN god yeah hella into the teapot. only completes the story and everything for the teapot. comes on sometimes to help hanbin out or bc someone else needs mats from his world. has a solid overworld team for collecting mats etc.

mildly enjoys the plot but exploration is where it's at.

NOT A GAMER 🌱

JIWOONG - only got it bc everyone else did, found out it took too much space on his phone, deleted it. tried playing it on gunwook's pc but had to play zhongli with his shield up 24/7 bc mechanics are hard okay! does see it as pretty and that yeah some characters are worth spending money for but there are better ways to find enjoyment in life.

TAERAE - doesn't mind it. he just doesn't see the hype over online characters. if and when he does play, it's on someone else's account and on the tcg. man loves the tcg, making decks and sweeping the floor with everyone.

has insane pull luck.

YUJIN - hmmm he sorta thinks it's cringe but gyuvin makes him play it. defo a valorant kid. tried to make a gun didn't work. plot doesn't matter much to him, interested in some character backstory but dips out when it comes to exploring. yujin defo thinks childe, xiao and alhaitham are cool. paimon gets on his nerves the most.

So, as I was begrudgingly listening to a country station this morning, I had a thought about country Mischa and well,,, that soon turned into an entire au.

So I present to you, the “rtc but slightly to the left” au!

In this au, everything is relatively the same. All of the “most ___ in town” lines stay as they were, and the kids all still have the same goals and aspirations. It’s just the content of those dreams that change.

Ocean still is extremely successful and ambitious, but she’s more modest about it, and would rather be a follower than a leader.

Noel is still very romantic and dreams of having love himself. However, now he dreams of being a German maiden, who is waiting for that one special boy.

Mischa is still the angriest boy due to his circumstances, but instead of finding masculinity through self-aggrandizing and commercialized hip hop, he now finds it through honky-tonk and cowboy-inspired country.

Ricky very much still daydreams, but his thoughts are a lot less lust-filled. Instead, he pictures himself as K-9’s right hand man who protects all of the dog people. However, in order to keep the peace, he is forced to marry a cat woman.

Jane’s character is the one that changes the least, personality wise, since she really doesn’t have a personality to begin with. But rather than taking a liking to animals, she now specializes in architecture. Her dolly is also now a Raggedy Ann doll.

Finally, Constance is still super friendly, though perhaps a bit too friendly. She’s well liked in school and friends with nearly everyone, though deep down she wishes for a simple life without popularity. She also enjoys gardening and plants.
