thinking about how, when disney was starting to do their live action remakes, they probably went "shit, we made most of our villains stereotypically gay. we can't do that now, that's Homophobic!" and then proceeded to butcher their old villains by taking away everything that made them interesting and beloved characters.

I'm a fan of traits & trait mods and I really liked Atomtanned's mod /based on Dill's Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs/. This is quite an extensive edit - I just wanted to adjust it a little for my game and once I started I couldn't stop xD
Atomtanned's Trait-Based Chemistry EDIT
& (optional mod) ONLY TO Chemistry
⚡ Download: SFS ⚡BOX
*Archive contains PDF file with detailed list of changes (added / removed stuff) and a few notes.
🟢 Trait-based Chemistry mod edit is available in 7 Languages: English, German, Finnish, Polish, Swedish, Russian, French
❕ New stuff: added Facial Hair TO (replaces Daydreamer), Business Shark TO (was: Serious), Expressive TO (was: Unique). Increased hobby and interest requirements from 5 to 8 pts, Formal wear added to Stylish TO - and more...
I also included an optional mod that switches off Zodiac / Aspiration chemistry and balances out the chemistry bolts gain - so it makes chemistry betwen Sims much less complicated. Obviously it will only be useful for those who like to control every aspect of their Sims romantic lives. Details under the cut.
You'll need Traits /and stuff required for these to work/.
Credits: @atomtanned , @lilbabydilljr , Epi for their TO replacements, @lazyduchess for Lua script
@peanuttysims for No Zodiac & Aspiration attraction (MTS2 link)
I used TS4 icons, icon mashups/ edits, and my own.
Thanks: @tvickiesims , @vegan-kaktus , @lilakartoffelbrei . Special thanks to @episims for all the support 💎🤗
*This is for The Sims 2
More under the cut:
Trait-based Chemistry mod
It will replace original TS2 turn-ons and turn-offs with entirely new ones (only hair colors and fitness/fatness are unchanged!).
It conflicts with NickM406's No More Loading the * Family mod , and Tunaisafish’s Attraction Fix, make sure you don't have tunaisafish_fix_attractiontraits package in your Downloads.
🟢 It's compatible with mods that change /or switch off Zodiac chemistry, Aspiration chemistry, or both.
⚡TURN-ONS / TURN-OFFS:
Note: I've added and removed some stuff, for example Plantsims and Bigfoot from 'Occult' TO, and Zombies from 'Undead' TO!
(This is an edit of the list posted by Atomtanned: )
Adventurous: 3 vacations, Adventurous, Daredevil, Sailor, Brave
Alien: Trait, skin, eyes
Animal Lover: 2 pet friends, Animal Lover, Cat Person, Dog Person, Equestrian
Artistic: Artistic, Avant Garde, Photographer's Eye, Savvy Sculptor, Flower Arranging/Pottery/Sewing silver badge, Arts & Crafts hobby, Creative skill
Athletic: Athletic, Equestrian, Loves to Swim, Sports/Fitness hobby, Body skill

Charismatic (charisma): Charismatic, Irresistible, Schmoozer, Star Quality, Charisma skill
Cultured (bookish): Avant Garde, Bookworm, Film & Literature Hobby
Expressive: Excitable, Childish, Party Animal, Dramatic, Over-Emotional, Diva
Facial hair
Fitness / Fatness - original
Foodie: Natural Cook, Cuisine hobby, Cooking skill
Hair colors - original
Indoorsy: Bookworm, Computer Whiz, Couch Potato, Hates the Outdoors, Film & Literature Hobby, Games Hobby
Infamous (bad reputation): Bad Reputation*, Evil, Mean-Spirited
Intellect (high IQ): Genius, Logic Skill
Introvert (reserved): Brooding, Loner, Unflirty, Shy, No sense of humor, Grumpy, Socially Awkward, < 2 Outgoing personality points
Laid Back (slacker): Couch Potato, Mooch, Slob, < 2 Active personality points
Musical: Natural Born Performer, Star Quality, Virtuoso, Music & Dance hobby
Occult (mystical): Werewolf, Witch, Fairy, Mermaid, Supernatural Fan
Outdoorsy: Angler, Green Thumb, Loves the Outdoors, Sailor, Gardening badge, Fishing badge, Nature hobby
Outgoing (social): Irresistible, Flirty, Natural Born Performer, Party Animal, Social Butterfly, > 8 Outgoing personality points
Plant Lover: Eco-Friendly, Gatherer, Green Thumb, Vegetarian, Flower/Gardening badge, Plantsim, Fairy
Rebellious: Daredevil, Inappropriate, Hot-headed, Rebellious.
Stylish (elegance): Snob, Diva, Irresistible, Cosmetology badge, Fashion interest, Formal wear
Technology: Servo, Bot Fan, Computer Whiz, Handy, Vehicle Enthusiast, Robotics silver Badge, Mechanical skill
Tidy: Neat, Cleaning skill, > 8 Neat personality points
Undead: Ghost*, Vampire
Well-Liked: Good reputation*, Friendly, Good, Proper, Nurturing.
*"Ghosts" = sims turned into playable ghosts, with Ghost trait (and Mermaids are sims with mermaid trait, but ofc you don't need these to be able to use this mod).
🔸 Hobby requirements in Dill's / Atomtanned's versions (as well as interest) were set to 5 points, which is kinda an average in my game. I don't want TOs to trigger too easily so I've increased these to 8 points, just like Skill point requirements.
I also increased good reputation requirement from 30 to 60.
Tumblr media
Above is the comparison of original vs new TOs, in the exact order.
FYI I've fixed the little mistake I've found in the mod - in my version stylish TO works as it should.
If you have any questions about how the game calculates attraction, read this.
And here's free version (SFS) of my buyable ReNuYu potion default, will be useful if you'd like to correct TOs for all your Sims.
"ONLY TO Chemistry" mod
Conflicts with No Zodiac Chemistry by Belladovah , chemistry mods by Peanutty (it incorporates their "No zodiac and no Aspiration"mod) and any other that contain Attraction Constants BCON and Attraction Tuning BCON.
In unmodded TS2 game, interests and skills do not play part in attraction. Trait-based chemistry changes that only to some extent because Zodiac and Aspiration are more important. To make TOs the crucial attraction factor in my game, I disabled Zodiac / Aspiration Chemistry, and tweaked bolt requirements.
This mod makes chemistry between Sims straightforward and TO-based however various bonuses to attraction also apply (!), like Beauty Wish, Vacation bonuses, bonus for very good rep or penalty for extremely bad reputation (even if your Sim likes bad guys, they will be put off by Dirty Dirtbag status, and enticed by extremely good rep). Anyways, if you use this mod and your Sims have no other attraction bonuses, then:
if one Sim has a turn-on towards the other, and the other has none, it results in no bolts
if one Sim has two turn-ons towards the other, and the other has none, Sims have one bolt chemistry
if one Sim has a turn-on towards the other, and the other has a turn-off, it results in negative chemistry
if a couple has single turn-ons towards each other, it gives them one-bolt chemistry
couple has three turn-ons, that gives them two bolts
couple has three turn-ons, one turn-off, that gives them one bolt
couple has double turn-ons, they have three-bolt chemistry
Special bonuses granted by mods for certain Traits like the "irresistible" still matter of course.

🌹 atomtanned's Trait-Based Chemistry
I've used @lilbabydilljr's Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs for a while now, and I love that he added in 3t2 traits when calculating chemistry. I wanted to tweak it for my game, and I finally learned how to do so. This is a heavily-modified version of his mod, so most of the credit goes to him - I just added/removed traits and changed some images and text strings.
Like any mod that involves traits, this requires @hexagonal-bipyramid's Easy Inventory Check.
This is definitely the most involved BHAV editing I've done yet, so please let me know if you find any errors, as it's a bit hard to test in game.
UPDATE: If you use Clean UI (or any other UI mod that uses Clean UI as a base) this mod will need to load after. Or you can delete the turn-on images that are included with that mod.
UPDATE 2: @cityof2morrow let me know that this mod (and I believe any other custom turnon/turnoff mods) also conflict with NickM406's No More Loading the * Family mod. Thank you!!
✨ DOWNLOAD: SFS / PATREON / MF
I've included the full list of turn-ons/turn-offs below the Read More link. The original names of Dill's Turn-Ons are in parentheses where applicable. Please note that this list uses the original TS3 trait names for clarity, but there's recommendations for changed trait names below as well.
Adventurous: 3 vacations, Adventurous, Daredevil, Sailor
Alien: Trait, skin, eyes
Animal Lover: 2 pet friends, Animal Lover, Cat Person, Dog Person, Equestrian
Artistic: Artistic, Avant Garde, Photographer's Eye, Savvy Sculptor, Flower Arranging/Pottery/Sewing badge, Arts & Crafts hobby, Creative skill
Athletic: Athletic, Equestrian, Loves to Swim, Sports/Fitness hobby, Body skill
Charismatic: Born Salesperson, Charismatic, Flirty, Irresistible, Schmoozer, Star Quality, Charisma skill
Cultured (Bookish): Avant Garde, Bookworm, Film & Literature Hobby
Daydreamer (Dumb): Absent-Minded, Neurotic, Socially Awkward, Unstable, < 2 Logic Skill
Fitness/Fatness: no change from Maxis game behavior
Foodie: Natural Cook, Cuisine hobby, Cooking skill
Indoorsy (Gamer): Bookworm, Computer Whiz, Couch Potato, Hates the Outdoors, Film & Literature Hobby, Games Hobby
Infamous (Bad Rep): Negative Reputation, Evil, Mean-Spirited

Tidy (Neat Freak): Neat, Cleaning skill, Personality
Undead: Ghost, Vampire, Zombie
Unique (Magic): Avant Garde, Childish, Eccentric, Insane, Loser
Well-Liked (Good Rep): Good reputation, Friendly, Good, Good Sense of Humor
I use updated trait names/descriptions for several traits, mostly to be more positive or less ableist, and those are what I had in mind when I made the chemistry changes above. A few I made myself, so those are included in the RAR in a separate folder, and I recommend getting the ones linked below too:
Childish > Young at Heart
Commitment Issues > Noncommittal (@equinoxts2)
Evil > Devious (@equinoxts2)
Good > Kind
Insane > Erratic (@dreadpirate)
Kleptomaniac > Sticky Fingers
Loser > Underdog
Neurotic > Anxious
Unstable > Indecisive (@equinoxts2)

ROUND 1C, MATCH 8 OUT OF 8!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under the Cut:
Mira:
She’s a badass and I love her
She embodies one of the truest parts of the Little Mermaid dating back to the original story: She loves the prince, even if he does not love her in return. It isn’t out of desperation or a desire to be sought and wanted, it is simple and pure love for another soul. A love so true that she lets him go without so much as a word of protest because when you truly love someone your greatest wish is for their happiness.
Will beat the shit out of the sea witch (good for her).
Bug:
Their a bug that falls in love with a human they rescue and becomes human, but even when they don't get to keep their human body, they still get to be with their love. It's a sci-fi fairytale musical.
Little Mermaid meets Starship Troopers musical starring awesome puppets and the most trans coded main character ever. Please. Please vote Bug Starship I love him. Go watch Kick it Up a Notch from Starship. Go watch Status Quo from Starship. You will understand.
He's a bug and he lives in space on a bug planet but he really wants to be a starship ranger which you can only be if you are a human and then one day a spaceship lands on his planet and so he goes to an evil bug called Pincer who then helps him become a human. And Bug falls in love with a human on the spaceship and it's very sweet. The musical and storyline are based on the little mermaid story, the creators themselves called it "the little mermaid but in space". Bug wanting to be a human/a starship ranger and achieving that and falling in love with a human is very much like the little mermaid
Starship is a musical that can only be described as The Little Mermaid meets Starship Troopers. It follows Bug, an alien bug who dreams of being a Starship Ranger, a galactic explorer/soldier, but the rigid confines of bug society keeps him trapped in a job he hates. He reaches a Starship Ranger named February from the hive and immediately falls in love with her. In order to be with her and pursue his dream, he makes a deal with a giant scorpion named Pincer who through sci-fi bs gives him a human body. Near the end of the second act he sacrifices his human body and returns to his bug body, and saves the day and wins February's heart. It's truly the ultimate Little Mermaid. He has multiple songs, and his bug body is portrayed by a puppet!! Vote for Bug!!
“It's a big, big, universe So many dimensions And unanswered questions Not to mention Life What an invention Life There's no choice involved in what you are given One mind, one voice, one body to live in It's a short, small thing we lead With so much potential Pointless or essential Which one can I be? Where do I fit? Where do I stand? Who are they to say what I am? And how can I stay inside this awful world I know? I need a way out I need an escape I'd rather be dead than to live in this place I wish that something or someone could just take it all away Someone take me away” dear god….. can anybody hear me…. (song from starship)
They are the purest little mermaid adaptation done in the most unuque way. An alien insect gets turned into a human, a race he has always loved and admired, to be with the woman he fell in love with. Also just a great musical.
Bug's whole arc is so so in tune with that of the little mermaid. He is an alien who has fallen in love with humanity through a crashed spaceship and trades his place in the hive for a chance to be with both with the human he's falling for and to be a Starship Ranger. He body swaps with human in a cryogenic pod! It's literally sci-fi Little Mermaid!

Book recommendation masterpost
As my list of rec posts grows, I figured it might be time to write a masterpost that I can continuously update and link back to.
Some notes on how I structure my lists: I generally try to stick to adult and young adult titles (with a mention in the synopsis if it's a YA), however on occasion I will include a middle grade if I need to fill out the list or if it’s a little known or especially good book I want to highlight. The lists are a mix of already pretty well-known titles (sometimes a book is famous for a reason, okay) and lesser known names, as long as they fit the theme and were an enjoyable read. I do try to make the lists diverse, but I will not include a book simply for diversity's sake - this is a subjective project, and if I didn’t enjoy a book it will get booted to honorary mentions even if the main character is gay.
Many books will appear on multiple lists as it covers multiple themes. In some cases, a title that got featured on one list might end up only on the honorary mentions of another. Honorary mentions books are generally titles I didn’t super care for personally, but sometimes I will feel they are still a good example of some particular theme and include them in the main list. I mark my favorite books and do try to mention when an included book had notable flaws, however, the lists are not reviews. I try to keep the synopses brief, and do not consistently include things like personal opinions or content warnings. If a title sounds interesting to you, I recommend still looking into it on your own if you need content warnings. I do sometimes write reviews on my Goodreads, but my rec lists are merely rec lists.
Without further ado, here is the list so far:
Really cool fantasy worldbuilding
Really cool sci-fi worldbuilding
Dark sapphic romances
Mermaid books
Vampire books
Many worlds: portal fantasies
Many worlds: alternate timelines
Robots and artificial intelligences
Post- and transhumanism
Alien intelligences
Queer science fiction part 1
Possession/bodysnatching
Evil fungi
Black science fiction
Queer fantasy part 1
Fairy books
Space books part 1

Hi I’ve been wanting to post this for a few days but I’ve got no desire to actually write a description. But it’s here if anyone wants! Description will come later, I just dropped my boyfriend off today and I’m kinda sad. Long distance. Blah.
Download (SFS)
Info is now under the cut! Look at me go.
01/18 - If you use any replacement UI built off of Clean UI, please ensure either this package loads after, or delete the turn on images that Clean UI includes. Thank you grilledcheese-aspiration for reminding me! The two turn-ons effected are ‘Musical’ and ‘Neat Freak’ which were originally ‘Hard Worker’ and ‘Unemployed.’
So I will say I probably should’ve done these differently (turn Creative into Artistic as opposed to Vampire, but whatever. They actually started out alphabetical in game which I thought was neat. They’re still fairly close!
But basically what I’ve done here is replace almost all the turn-ons with personality/trait based ones. I’m wishing we could mix and match individual turn-ons actually because as I write this list I’m already worried about people thinking there’s too many supernatural ones. But they’re used in my game so idk. They’re much more relevant than full face makeup I feel.
For badges sims require a silver level to have the turn-on. For skills I’ve increased it to 8 points, and if a turn-on mentions a hobby, a sim either needs 5 points or have it as their One True Hobby.
Fitness/Fatness - New icons, unchanged Swimwear > Adventurous - 3 Vacations, Adventurous, Daredevil, Sailor Formal > Alien - Trait, Skin, Eyes Underwear > Animal Lover - 2 Pet Friends, Animal Lover, Cat Person, Dog Person, Equestrian Vampire > Artistic - Artistic, Avant Garde, Photographer's Eye, Savvy Sculptor, Floral/Pottery/Sewing Badge, Arts & Crafts Hobby, Creativity Skill Stink > Athletic - Athletic, Disciplined, Equestrian, Loves to Swim, Sports/Fitness Hobby, Body Skill Logical > Bad Rep - Negative Reputation, Evil Great Cook > Bookish - Bookworm, Film & Literature Hobby Mechanical > Charismatic - Born Salesperson, Charismatic, Natural Born Performer, Schmoozer, Star Quality, Charisma Skill Creative > Content - Platinum, Lifetime Happiness Skill (side note this one will be the first one to go if someone can come up with something better it is my least favourite) Athletic > Dumb - Absent Minded, Less than 2 Logic Good at cleaning > Foodie - Natural Cook, Cuisine Hobby, Cooking Skill Zombiism > Gamer - Computer Whiz, Couch Potato, Loser, Games Hobby Robots > Good Rep - Good reputation, Good Plantsim > Indoorsy - Bookworm, Brooding, Couch Potato, Hates the Outdoors, Loner Werewolf > Magic - Genie, Witch, Fairy Witch > Mechanical - Servo, Bot Fan, Computer Whiz, Handy, Vehicle Enthusiast, Robotics Badge, Tinkering Hobby, Mechanical Skill Hard Worker > Musical - Natural Born Performer, Star Quality, Virtuoso, Music & Dance Hobby, Dance Skill, Creativity Skill Unemployed > Neat Freak - Neat, Cleaning Skill, Personality Cologne > Occult - Werewolf, Plantsim, Bigfoot, Genie, Witch, Fairy, Mermaid Facial Hair > Outdoorsy - Angler, Green Thumb, Loves the Outdoors, Sailor, Gardening Badge, Fishing Badge, Nature Hobby Glasses > Plant Lover - Eco-Friendly, Green Thumb, Vegetarian, Flower/Gardening Badge, Plantsim, Fairy  Makeup > Productive - Ambitious, Eccentric, Frugal, Gatherer, Perfectionist, Workaholic Full Face Makeup > Slacker - Couch Potato, Mooch, Slob, Personality Hats > Smart - Genius, Logic Skill Jewellery > Stylish - Avant Garde, Diva, Irresistible, Proper, Cosmetology Badge, Fashion Interest Custom Hair > Timid - Brooding, Coward, Loner, Shy, Socially Awkward, Unflirty, Personality Charismatic > Undead - Ghost, Zombie, Vampire

After awhile of being around people into metaphysical, occult type stuff, you develop a sense for who's just... kinda full of bullshit.
There's always people proclaiming imminent apocalypses or world upheavals. They can't fathom that they could possibly be wrong; or if they suspect, you'd definitely never know it from the way they talk. They're always wrong.
There's always people who claim they're from a special magical bloodline and have a special connection to a major deity. They're always threatening curses and divine punishment from their deity any time someone pisses them off.
There's also the ones who claim their family line has been practicing magic since pre-Christian times. They refer to their practice by the vague and culturally nonspecific term "the Craft," and their narrative is very clearly inspired by Margaret Murray's debunked witch cult hypothesis. They tend to believe in and push a lot of conspiracy theories.
There's always people who claim they were scratched up by a demon. Some of them even have photos. When they post photos, the scratches are at most shallow abrasions or obviously inflicted by a cat or other small animal.
And then there's the ones who claim they can transform into mermaids. No, they can't send you photos. If they did, the mermaid hunters would come after them. Never mind the danger they're putting themselves into by merely telling you about this at all.
There's the ones who claim they're warriors in a cosmic battle between good and evil. They claim to know Michael and Lucifer personally, and they'll tell you how the Bible and the Church are full of lies, and/or rage about other people spreading "lies."
If you look closely, a certain element of tragedy usually makes itself apparent. Something is terribly wrong in their lives. It could be incredible boredom, social alienation, stress, unresolved traumas, untreated mental illness, poor coping skills, poor social skills, or general personal unfulfillment.
Make no mistake, many of them are potentially extremely dangerous. If they find someone they can harass or convince into their beliefs, they can do some serious damage. And when they do, they seriously need to be held accountable.
But the fact that there are so many people like this speaks to so many systemic failures. These people wouldn't be like this if something hadn't gone incredibly wrong in their lives somewhere, and if they had been able - physically, monetarily, and psychologically - to get the help they needed, they could have been able to heal and find better ways to meet their emotional and psychological needs, and done a lot less damage to other people.

The Ultimate Emo/Scene Name List - WARNING: Long post, and make sure you read the trigger warnings!
Having trouble coming up with a name for yourself? Do you planning on using a part of your real name but can’t find a word to go with it? Well, worry no more!
Today, I’m here to provide as comprehensive a list as possible! I’ve scoured the internet, and some sources have some problematic suggestions. So, my goal is to break down possible names into easy to understand categories. Obviously, this will be a VERY long list, so keep that in mind. There is also a section purely made up of words used in the past that are to be used/reclaimed at one's own risk/discretion due to the words being used to oppress or belittle various minority groups. I will also be sharing my sources at the bottom for stuff I used from online, alongside any trigger warnings that may be needed. Without further ado, let’s go! SOURCES
http://esgbeauty.blogspot.com/p/scene-names-directory.html?m=1 (TRIGGER WARNING: site listed actual genocides as name suggestions (e.g. Holocaust) or elements related to genocides/wars (e.g. Kamikaze) - view at your own discretion. For this list, I opted to remove these suggestions as I think these are remnants of the edgy humour of the 2000s that is best being left behind.)
Some of these suggestions came from my friends and members in Scem0 K1dz (Discord server).
https://thescenebible.blogspot.com/2021/10/blog-post.html?m=1 (Currently working on slowly adding anything from here.) TRIGGER WARNING: A lot of names involve mental disorders, medical conditions and medications. I will be including some of these, mostly in the 'Use At Your Own Risk' section.
