Fandom Growth Exchange Letter/Prompts

Opt-ins: I am fine with pretty much anything. If you feel like taking a prompt in a dark direction (and there are certainly pairings here that would fit) then I am more than okay with it. Not picky when it comes to smut, no hard DNWs.

The Death Gate Cycle - Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman

Haplo & Xar, Haplo/Xar

I am fascinated by the bits we see of their relationship, how it isn't especially healthy but is still very genuine (he considers Xar an adoptive father but also consistently thinks of him as his lord and master). That Haplo becomes a better person at the same time Xar becomes more villainous. That they still deeply care about each other even as they fight.

Prompts: an early look at their relationship after Haplo is brought out of the Labyrinth. A deeper look at their feelings when they turn against each other. A dark au where Xar tries to forcefully get Haplo back on his side. Or maybe an au where Xar survives the last book and they struggle to lead their people after the harm done between them (mostly on Xar's end, honestly).

2. Dresden Files

Bianca St. Claire/Rachel: poor tragic toxic lesbians. a deeper look at what their relationship was like before and after Rachel's death.

Inari Raith & Thomas Raith, Lara Raith & Lord Raith, Lara Raith & Thomas Raith, Lord Raith & Thomas Raith: twisted unhealthy family dynamics! Thomas trying so hard to keep Inari safe and wanting her to feel loved. the centuries of manipulative affection between Lara and Lord Raith. Lara and Thomas love each other but they're trapped in an abusive family and power structure, more codependent siblings, fighting together or with each other, Lara trying to protect him from Lord Raith, or hurting him at their father's command. I am deeply fascinated by the fact that Lord Raith apparently raised Thomas and allowed him to reach adulthood despite it being much more convenient to get rid of him early which suggests a lot more complexity than is portrayed.

Lara Raith/Lord Raith, Lara Raith/Thomas Raith, Lord Raith/Thomas Raith: similar to above but leaning into the canonical incest and sexual abuse. doesn't have to be smut but I would be intrigued how having that be both so prevalent and accepted would affect how the younger members view the world.

Karrin Murphy & Susan Rodriguez, Maggie Dresden & Susan Rodriguez: would love anything with Susan, there's so much left unexplored with her character. maybe she had a casual friendship with Murphy where they would have lunch and complain about Harry, magic, and monsters. maybe a look at her difficult decisions regarding Maggie from her perspective, loving her daughter and trying to keep her safe but also making the admittedly selfish decision to not tell Harry about her at first.

Margaret Lefay/Lord Raith: toxic trash couple that I adore, intrigued that canon suggests it started as a genuine connection before it went bad, will accept weird fluff or creepy dark.

3. Popsy - Stephen King

Dwight Renfield & Popsy's Grandson

okay so Dwight Renfield from Night Flier is indicated to be the same as the old vampire we meet in Popsy, where there is also a vampire kid that is referred to as his grandson

so what's the story there? is there a biological link? did the vampire adopt a young child and turn him out of loneliness? is this a one-off or a pattern of behavior?

4. Shades of Magic - V. E. Schwab

Astrid Dane/Athos Dane/Holland Vosijk, Athos Dane/Holland Vosijk: we know the Danes tortured and used him. just how far did it go when Kell wasn't there?

Osaron/Holland Vosijk: maybe a deeper look at the deal they made?

Ros Vortalis & Holland Vosijk, Ros Vortalis/Holland Vosijk: These two fascinate and make me sad. Either platonic or romantic or something vague in between. Can be pre-canon stuff or a happier canon divergence.

5. Spares - Michael Marshall Smith

I came so close to adoring this book. so maybe a look at stuff that wasn't explored enough?

David & Suej: treated as the most mature well-balanced of the kids and indicated to be close to each other. how do they take care of the younger kids? what are they up to post-canon?

Jack Randall & David, Jack Randall & Suej: Jack accidentally adopted these kids and is definitely making it up as he goes along.

Jack Randall/Nearly: they're implied to get together in the epilogue. what does their new life look like?

6. American Assassin (2017)

Annika/Mitch Rapp: so the movie seemed to be setting them up as a couple before she was killed off, so maybe a closer look at that? maybe they officially get together or it sticks to light flirting? post-canon AU where they're loyal to different factions but also still care about each other?

Mitch Rapp & Ronnie | Ghost, Mitch Rapp/Ronnie | Ghost: a closer look at how these two parallel each other. maybe Mitch joins Ghost? maybe Ghost is instead captured and imprisoned/team tries to rehabilitate him?

Mitch Rapp/Victor: there was so much potential for these two, like there was definitely setup for a rivals-to-teammates-to-friends story. a snapshot of training together and grudging friendship? an AU where Victor doesn't die in the first mission and helps take down Ghost? post-canon AU where they're still a team and have to address the growing tension between them?

7. Ninja (Florentine Movies)

Casey Bowman/Masazuka: they had vibes in movie 1 and I'm convinced there was something going on beyond just student rivalry. like Masazuka is clearly resentful that this outsider was brought in and is treated as one of the best students (think a GI Joe Snake-Eyes situation), something Casey is aware of and seems to feel a little bad when he indirectly gets Masazuka kicked out. Add in the nearly 15 year age gap between them and there's potential for a lot of spiciness. did Casey ever look up to him as a mentor, and did Masazuka ever try to take advantage of that?

Casey Bowman/Nakabara: Casey clearly looked up to Nakabara and it's indicated they trained together. teen crush/secret dating? whatever Nakabara's thinking when he decides to manipulate Casey into killing a rival in movie 2? AU where Casey doesn't realize the truth and stays with Nakabara?

Casey Bowman/Namiko Takeda: these two are just very sweet, lots of lady+knight vibes but ninja flavored. a look at when they officially got together? movie 2 AU where she doesn't die and joins his vengeance quest? happy AU where they get to live and have their family?

8. Scream of the Wolf (1974)

Byron Douglas/John Weatherby

What I call the "intriguingly homoerotic werewolf thriller from the 70s". The full movie is on youtube.

ex-boyfriends? pre-canon hunt? AU where Byron is an actual werewolf? John chooses to accept his ex's murderous urges and agrees to hunt with him again?

9. Universal Soldier (Movies)

John: Day of Reckoning's tragic lead. thinks he's a human avenging his murdered family but nope he's a brainwashed UniSol manipulated into destroying the UniSol revolution. a look at his mental state as he realizes the truth? a look at the previous John clone who didn't go after Luc but didn't stay with the revolution either, trying to settle down with a regular job and girlfriend? an AU where our John joins the revolution? whatever he's up to post-canon with taking over the revolution?

Luc Deveraux/Andrew Scott: you can't tell me these two aren't ex-boyfriends in movie 1. just a couple army guys fooling around in secret? when they're brainwashed UniSols who work together and don't yet remember each other? Regeneration AU where Luc recruits the Andrew clone instead of killing him? a closer look at whatever their deal was in Day of Reckoning, how they managed to recruit an army of UniSols together?

10. Killer7

Coyote Smith/Dan Smith: enemies to rivals to lovers vibes.

Coyote Smith/Dan Smith/Garcian Smith/Kaede Smith/Kevin Smith/Mask de Smith: weird family polycule dynamics. so much potential with their implied backstories, where Garcian fits in as a later addition who became their leader. can include Con in a more platonic part of the dynamic.

Curtis Blackburn/Dan Smith: so we have Curtis, pure evil individual, and Dan, who is Complicated; what did that mentorship look like before it turned sour? considering Curtis'... private hobby, it isn't out of the realm of possibility he took advantage of Dan's loyalty. and after breaking away, is Dan ever haunted by their relationship/his own actions?

Dan Smith & Harman Smith: Dan's second mentor that he also once tried to kill. does he ever regret not killing him? does Harman ever struggle to keep him under control?

(note: As with all of my fanfiction and AO3 activities, I’m signed up under ‘hematitebadger.’)

Hello, assigned creator or person who is considering creating for me! Thank you for reading this; I look forward to seeing what you make and I hope you enjoy making it. This is the first exchange I've done in many years, and thus the first exchange letter I've written in many years, so forgive me if it's a bit unpolished and feel free to ask for clarification if I've been hazy or left unanswered questions. General Likes: humorous stories, happy endings, casual physical affection between friends/family members, banter, unexpectedly romantic moments, imitation of canon style (but don't feel like it's required!), low-stakes/personally important adventures, "what if [canon event] had happened differently?" AUs, character exploration, mutual pining. First and third POV both welcome. I signed up specifically for fanfic, but I am open to treats in any medium! DNWs: porn (implied/referenced sex is fine, but no detailed on-screen sex), unrequested non-canon pairings, non-canon character death, tragic/bleak endings, mundane/modern/setting change AUs, non-canon severe illness/injury (canon-typical comedic, non-permanent injuries in comedy canons are fine), animal harm. Fandom-specific The Murderbot Diaries This is one of those canons where I really like the narrative voice, so stories that imitate that are always appreciated. I love how prickly Murderbot is, and the way it expresses itself when it's being emotional and trying to pretend it's not, and the way it gets annoyed at how much it cares about the people around it. I would love to see something with Murderbot settling in on Preservation, and the survey team trying (with varying degrees of success) to help it acclimate and feel included. Maybe something about the documentary, as well? If you're writing about Murderbot and ART, possibly something about Murderbot going on extended missions with ART and its crew, and the little adjustments to their relationship that come from interacting while having other people around for an extended period of time. My prompts for this fandom are less specific than most of the others, but it's not because I'm any less interested in it! I just love these people in a very broad and general way and want to see more of them interacting with each other. Miraculous Ladybug PLEASE NOTE THAT AS I WRITE THIS I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF SEASON 5 YET AND MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CATCH UP BY THE TIME THE SIGNUP PERIOD ENDS. I know a little about what's happened so far, because this is the internet and spoilers are inevitable, but it's a vague knowledge and I've been avoiding leaks about the series bible and episodes that haven't yet aired, so I'm writing these prompts without taking any of what I think I know about the new season into account. As is probably clear from my requests, the complicated dynamics of the Agreste household are my favorite part of the show. All the adults involved have done terrible things but I love them dearly (including Emilie, if you choose to include her), and so I'm hoping for a "flawed but sympathetic" portrayal of them. I would love to see what the household and the people in it were like before canon, the kind of parent Gabriel was as Adrien was growing up and there was someone else there to act as a buffer between them, and I'd like to see him trying to be better at it. I would also be interested in a scenario in which they have to work together in their Miraculous identities, and the tension that arises from both their adversarial relationship and from the things they're saying to each other unwittingly hitting home a little harder than expected. For Gabriel and Nathalie I would be equally happy with &, /, or something that blurs the line between the two. Once again I'd love to see a pre-canon story showing the evolution of their relationship over time, and its translation into the working relationship between Hawkmoth and Mayura. For a more shippy route for these two I'm less interested in an established relationship than I am in sexual tension, pining (mutual or otherwise), and/or an emerging relationship. What was the moment when Nathalie realized she was in too deep, and what will it take for Gabriel to have his own realization? And when are they going to notice the other person's feelings, as well? I would also be interested to see an exploration of how this interacts with their secret identities, where maybe it feels "safer" to flirt as Hawkmoth and Mayura and they're more willing to take risks and cross lines. And while I would hope for something hopeful for these two and I don't want one of them to unilaterally reject the other, I wouldn't consider a mutual acceptance that they can't act on their feelings because of the complicated situation they're in to be a violation of my 'tragic endings' DNW. Megamind Roxanne and Megamind were already pretty flirty in their first interaction in the movie! I'd be interested to see a pre-canon take on that, with the two of them gradually getting bolder and more flirtatious in their interactions as Megamind starts to develop an interest in Roxanne and Roxanne realizes that a) Megamind is basically harmless and b) it's really fun to push his buttons. Possibly even an exploration of what they would have been like if "Bernard" had never happened, and if they would have ever gotten to an 'openly interested in each other' stage on their own. Alternately, post-canon it would be fun to see the two of them learning to live in each other's worlds, with Roxanne helping Megamind get used to being around people and interacting with the public like just another citizen, and Roxanne getting used to being with someone who approaches romance with the same level of drama and spectacle that he approaches villainy. Even when they're in conflict in the movie there's a level of familiarity and sincerity between them that I love, and that's what I'd love to see reflected in a fic. Oxventure These incredibly silly people and the incredibly silly ways they solve their problems while still being lovable and sincere and that special mix of antagonistic and caring towards one another. I would be equally happy with a canon-style problem or mystery they need to solve, or just all of them having some down time and bothering each other. Maybe something goes wrong with the dragon eggs and one or more hatches early, and these people who should not be trusted with anything are now responsible for a baby dragon for a while. Or maybe the less murder-y members of the Guild decide it's finally time to have some kind of intervention with an unrepentant Merilwen regarding her various crimes. For Prudence/Corazon specifically I love them being terrible people who are trying very hard to pretend not to care and failing at it. Anything that involves accidentally realizing and/or revealing their feelings for each other would be great, but specifically I think these two would be perfect for a fake dating plot (as part of a plan that made sense at the time? To piss off Corazon's dad?) that gets more real than either of them ever intended it to. BBC Ghosts I love how sweet and ridiculous this show and its characters are, and it's one of those canons where my prompts are more like "Really, I just want to see more of them, whatever it is they're doing." Alison trying to come up with some new kind of enrichment for the ghosts, both for their sakes and so they'll give her a little more time alone and not bother the guests. Mike doing his best to keep them happy while Alison is out of the house for a couple days (with Julian attempting to communicate their needs via the laptop keyboard and other small gestures), or maybe temporarily gaining some ability to perceive them and trying to rearrange his perceptions of them now that he knows a little bit more. I also think it would be fun to see Alison try to use the ghosts as an excuse to lie to Mike to get out of something she doesn't want to do, but that's entirely because I want to see it backfire on her in some ridiculous way. I have never in my life known how to end a letter gracefully, regardless of the context, so I'll just end this one by thanking you for reading it again. I hope your exchange experience is awesome.

Candy Hearts Letter 2024

Dear Creator,

Thank you SO MUCH for writing for me. I know I’m going to love whatever you come up with! I truly appreciate the time and effort you are going to put into this. PLEASE do not stress over it; I am really very easy to please and just looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I’ve jotted down some basic prompts here, follow them or don’t--the choice is yours!

Competency is absolutely my greatest kink. I also have a decent-sized hair kink and love hair-touching/stroking/brushing, etc, as well as any kind of safe touch. I like friendship in love, equal partnerships, ass-kicking females, friends to lovers, grudging respect that becomes not so grudging, fluff and cuteness, light angst, caretaking, cuddling and tender kissing, blanket/bed-sharing in a totally platonic way, all the non-sexual intimacy and tenderness, late-night talks, letters. Tenderly-described safe touch makes me squee. I don’t mind sex so long as it’s consensual between adults, well-written, driven by emotions, and true to character. My favorite AUs are coffee shop and library.

General Likes: Fluff, angst with a happy or happy-for-now ending, humor, hurt/comfort with comfort emphasis, team bonding, mission fic, casefic, slice of life, missions gone bad, bad missions gone good in unexpected ways. Snowed in, locked in a closet, days off that turn into work days due to unforeseen circumstances, Undercover as a couple, enemies to friends to more, fake dating with sparks flying.

I adore setting detail and good descriptive writing. Fall is absolutely my favorite season--so perfect for walks, crisp air, toasted marshmallows, apple orchard trips, cider and donuts, colorful leaves that crunch underfoot, hay rides, warm drinks, cozy sweaters, knitting, lazy weekends, bonfires (or fires in fireplaces) new pens and notebooks, etc. I also love holidays and celebrations--all of them equally, so whatever feels natural to you and the characters is great. Cultural descriptions and events are fabulous, as well as setting, time period, and seasonal details.

Mary Russell Series - Russell & Holmes

The first book in this series is my favorite, so I’d love a pre-marriage casefic. How soon after Holmes met Russell did he know he was dealing with not just a teenager, but a teenager who is in every way his intellectual equal? How much did he miss her when she went away to school? We see one time where Holmes shows up on Russell’s doorstep while she’s at Oxford, but were there others? Did he ever give her a test that involved chasing him from bolt-hole to bolt-hole in London, changing disguises as they went? How much did Mrs. Hudson know of what they got up to, and did she simply shake her head at the strangeness? Did she do anything to temper the way Holmes treated this young woman whom he was suddenly keeping as a pet and protegee?

Hawkeye (TV) - Clint, Kate, Laura, Yelena

Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye run was my intro to comics and since I started, I haven’t looked back. I also thought that the Hawkeye TV show was damn near perfect. I love Clint and Kate together and how even though they are both completely badass, they always seem to be kind of making things up as they go along and can’t believe this is actually their life, for good or for bad. I imagine that there are not many people whom Kate would allow to be a mentor or teacher or even a father figure and I love Clint in that role, even as often as he rolls his eyes and wonders why and how this is life. I love their chemistry together and the banter, but I’m definitely more friendshippy than shippy about them. If you’re romantic about them, that’s fine, but either include Laura or or pretend she doesn’t exist at all–no cheating, please.

Speaking of banter, I need the banter of Kate/Yelena like I need air to breathe. I would love something where they are grudgingly forced to work together and somehow it becomes more. I love their badassery and would love to see more of them together. Give me mission/casefic, unwinding and debriefing after a mission, Kate and Yelena babysitting the Barton kids, Clint helping Kate get ready for a date (or feeding Yelena intel about how to woo Kate), Kate making sure that Clint remembers his wife and kids on Valentine’s Day, or really anything with loads of banter.

Lockwood & Co - Lucy, George, Lockwood

I could go on for pages about how sad I am that this show got cancelled. I loved the books and I thought the adaptation was pretty close to perfect. Give me all the casefic with all three of these characters and be as shippy as you want with Lockwood and Lucy. Is there a ghost that’s wreaking havoc on couples who meet through a dating site or app? A Lockwood/Lucy date that gets interrupted by something supernatural? If you include George, please let him be a badass, too.

Black Emporium Rare Pair Exchange Letter

Hello Writer/Artist! Thank you for creating for me for this exchange!

I've cut and pasted things I've written about my specific likes and dislikes from previous years, but everything still applies so it's all good

This year I pared down my requested pairings significatly, and I still truly love them all. If you want to know more about any specific pairing, I try to keep organized by tagging any shippy posts as “PersonA x PersonB” with the names in alphabetical order (ex: “bethany x fenris” or “inquisitor x vivienne”) and OT3s are under the tag “OT3″

I really like UST and mutual pining, also the corny stuff like “fake married” or “bed sharing” or “arranged marriage” tropes. I LOVE Soulmate AUs more than anything else, I’m an absolute sucker for those. I also like the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers trope

For dislikes: I love angst, but not Hurt/Comfort. I really don’t get into any AUs that change the setting for Dragon Age, especially not modern AUs. Mature rating and sexy content is ok, but please no PWP? (If you are fandom old like I am, I prefer limes to lemons!) For the Merrill ships: please don’t write her as childish and naive.

Aragorn/Arwen/Éowyn/Faramir: My LOTR OT4! I love the idea of these two couples being one big polycule :) Having them all be cis, with Arwen and/or Éowyn pregnant, would be great, but I also love the idea of some or all of them being trans. Pregnant transmasc Faramir would be especially wonderful; I also love transfem Faramir if that is something you’re interested in. Regarding babies, it would be so cute to have baby Elboron (canon Faramir/Éowyn baby) and baby Eldarion (canon Arwen/Aragorn baby) hanging out together with their squad of parents—or with those two being a bit older, and hanging out with their little sister(s), Arwen/Aragorn’s daughter(s)!

Happily pregnant trans character: This is quite possibly the Most Important tag in all of my requests—I love love love trans characters and trans headcanons, and trans pregnancy is one of my favorite things too. I don’t want any angst about trans characters being pregnant (unless specifically requested) and I love to read about transmasc pregnancy as gender-affirming! You don’t have to get super into a character’s transness if you’re not super comfortable with that, but I’d like to keep transphobia to a minimum both in and out of universe.

A&B compete to get C pregnant: I think I would actually prefer if baby parentages remain the same as canon (ie, no Éowyn/Aragorn or Faramir/Arwen babies...though if you wanted to do an Arwen/Éowyn or Faramir/Aragorn OC baby, that would be great! just keep Eldarion & Elboron’s parentages canon, please), but this could be very fun in a foursome situation with Aragorn and Faramir each competing to see who can get their “official” wife pregnant first. Or mess around with gender/sex and do some other combination of pregnant person/impregnator, if you’d like. If you want to do an OC baby, maybe Aragorn and trans!Éowyn compete to get Arwen pregnant? or something?

Polyamory - character smug about getting both their partners pregnant: Aragorn or trans!Éowyn being smug about getting both Arwen and trans!Faramir pregnant! And lightly teasing the other possible impregnator in the scenario for not getting there first :D

Character A and Character B Are Both In Labor At The Same Time: Arwen and Éowyn (or whoever you decide to be pregnant) having babies at the same time! Aragorn and Faramir (or whoever) are very stressed out/concerned...especially if this is the first baby for both couples!

Character A is heavily pregnant while Character B is just starting to show: Or Arwen is almost due, but Éowyn is just starting to show, and Arwen tries to give her advice, except she’s not really *that* experienced, and also Éowyn’s pregnancy is progressing very differently...

A gave birth to first child so B gets to have second: Taking turns getting pregnant so three people can care for/pamper one person at a time!

Character has higher libido when pregnant: This is one of my favorite tropes! Lots of fun kinky pregnant sex, please!! Especially if the pregnant character is constantly horny and constantly in need of satiation, but can’t quite get it...even better if there are two pregnant characters getting each other off!

Receiving oral sex while pregnant: Especially if pregnancy makes their clit Extremely Sensitive...mwah, chef’s kiss, etc

Pregnant characters breastfeeding from each other; A sitting in B's lap to make out and their stomachs pressing together because A is pregnant; A sitting in B's lap to make out and their stomachs pressing together because both are pregnant; Pregnant characters' bumps pressing together as they make out: uhhh HOT? Would love any of these for Arwen and Éowyn, specifically.

Maybe the food item is actually okay for baby elves, so Arwen’s not worried, but her human spouses are very concerned for their part-human baby! Or Arwen, not knowing what this kind of peredhel baby can handle, is overprotective while her human spouses reassure her that yes, actually, human babies can eat that, don’t worry.

Dressing Baby Up in Little Outfits: Royal portraits! Little royal outfits! Tiny Gondorian ceremonial outfits! Would love to see older siblings very seriously dressing up their baby siblings <3

Eponyms and Baby Namesakes: Eldarion is very cleverly the “son of the elves”; Elboron’s name could be interpreted as referencing Boromir’s name...how did they arrive at these names? Did they have other names too? And of course with OC babies you can go crazy with naming!

Gifting Baby Important Objects: There are soooo many heirlooms these royal babies could get! The Elessar, Arwen’s evenstar necklace if you go with the movies, any number of artifacts from Rohan, the halves of Boromir’s horn, etc...

Anairë/Fëanor/Fingolfin/Nerdanel: One of my very few incest exceptions, I find Fëanor and Fingolfin to be a very interesting pair. It’s the rivalry!! However, I hate when they abandon their wives to fuck each other, so I want Anairë and Nerdanel to also be involved in this relationship. Anairë is a holy woman; how does she feel about Fingolfin transgressing incest taboos? What is it that made Fëanor and Fingolfin break, and fuck instead of fight? And of course I’d love to see Nerdanel and Anairë getting it on too. Fëanor and Fingolfin getting riled up about cuckolding even when they’re in a foursome situation is extra juicy! (Though I’d really prefer to avoid any situations where Fingolfin has kids with Nerdanel or Fëanor has kids with Anairë. They can talk about it/kink on the idea, but no actual pregnancies in those configurations.) Probably it would be best if this OT4 came together after all their kids are born/mostly grown (though Argon and the Ambarussa could be young still)...OR it could be an OT4 situation where they’ve all four been together all along (again, do still want the parentages of their kids to stay canonical!) so Anairë and/or Nerdanel can get worshipped by their lovers while pregnant :) A bit of dubcon between Fëanor and Fingolfin is okay, but I don’t want noncon.

These two pairings on their own (Fëanor/Nerdanel and Fingolfin/Anairë) are also great. I’m always super here for t4t Fëanor/Nerdanel <3 Fëanor has a breeding kink no matter how you slice it and I think he’s the kind of person who would looooove being pregnant! Nerdanel too, but I’m especially into pregnant Fëanor <3 And I’d love to see itty bitty Maitimo getting super excited about having a baby sibling on the way!! (in the form of Maglor. pls don’t write Maedhros and Fingon as brothers.)

As for Fingolfin/Anairë, I see them as having been an arranged marriage that developed into true love. There might be some slight distance between them still that a pregnancy helps break down :) And Anairë/Nerdanel...what can I say, they are both hardworking ladies with exasperating husbands and they deserve to have some fun together, with or without said husbands!

My headcanons/preferences around these four are complicated, so if you’re writing them, don’t hesitate to hit me up on anon to ask questions! But I think the most important thing here is I want the parentages of canon children to remain canon, and I especially don’t want a Fëanor/Fingolfin baby. BUT anyone can have sex with anyone else in this foursome, so long as it doesn’t lead to a non-canon pregnancy. They’re elves, they have built in birth control, they can manage! And having sex with a person who’s pregnant with another partner’s baby is very hot and definitely encouraged. And fantasizing about non-canon pregnancies is also fine, I just don’t want it to actually happen.

Character Jealous Of Their Love Interest's Pregnant SO: Fingolfin sees Nerdanel pregnant and is absurdly jealous. Probably pre-F/F relationship. Fingolfin decides to get Anairë pregnant in response? Perhaps he fantasizes about getting Fëanor pregnant...or guiltily wishes Fëanor had gotten him pregnant instead, even though he’s cis and that’s not really possible.

Character loves being pregnant because of how horny it makes them/how good the sex is; Pregnant Sex; Pregnant Person is Highly Desirable to Their Partner: Desperate horny pregnant sex!!! Especially if it’s the pregnant person’s partner who is even more turned on than the pregnant person, and can’t get enough of their pregnant partner’s lush, sexy body.

Couple thought family was complete until surprise third or fourth pregnancy proved otherwise: Or fifth. Or sixth.........

Crafting Jewelry For Baby or Pregnant Partner(s): These are Noldor! This is FËANOR! Of course there’s going to be lots of bespoke jewelry for both the pregnant character(s) and the baby! This would be especially interesting if pregnant!Fëanor is crafting jewelry while heavily pregnant and he proooobably shouldn’t be in a forge...

Fear of Pregnancy After Mother’s Death; Non-Birthing Character Terrified/Inconsolable During Labor: Fëanor after Míriel :( This could work both with pregnant Fëanor convinced he’s going to die...or with him inconsolable thinking Nerdanel is going to die :((( Hurt/comfort with a happy ending, please!

Fix-It - Parent who canonically died pre-birth/in-birth survives: What if Míriel DIDN’T die?? How would that change things for Fëanor? Probably he and Fingolfin would have been raised as brothers with less tension, and so wouldn’t be in any kind of relationship; some nice platonic brotherly bonding while their respective wives are pregnant could be very sweet here, with Finwë’s two polyamorous wives watching on fondly.

Eponyms and Baby Namesakes: ALL their kids are named after SOMEONE.... The -finwës are most obvious, but Nolofinwë Arakáno names his -kános after himself, Írissë is probably named after Írimë Lalwen...and then of course there’s Curufinwë Atarinkë and Nolofinwë’s youngest, Arakáno. What went into these names?

Making Toys For The Baby: Again, Noldor!!

Toddler Tries to Be a Good Older Sibling to Baby; Older Kid(s) Meeting New Sibling(s); Older sibling excited about new baby: Thinking about this specifically in the context of little Maedhros and baby Maglor <33 But Fingon meeting Turgon would be cute too!

Aredhel & Baby Maeglin: Soft mom hours <33 They deserve some good times! I’d rather Eöl not be involved here; I don’t particularly like him and I see him as abusive/controlling.

Aredhel/Pregnant Celegorm: I don’t think Aredhel ever wanted to be pregnant. But Celegorm might find it interesting! This cooould maybe be an exception to my “no cis mpreg” rule, if Celegorm is magically impregnated by Oromë, and Aredhel finds that hot? Or we could have a more simple version of t4t Aredhel/Celegorm, where she knocks him up. Maybe not entirely intentionally...breeding kink gone awry, perhaps?

Pregnant Aredhel/Celegorm: For this situation, Aredhel would be pregnant with Maeglin, and escaped from Eöl. Celegorm (and Curufin) take care of Eöl (preferably violently) and then care for Aredhel in the aftermath. Celegorm is basically Maeglin’s dad now :) NOTE: My Aredhel is always aromantic (“to none was her heart’s love given”) and I don’t want her and Celegorm to be in a romantic relationship—but a sexual and/or queerplatonic one would be great!

Fingolfin & Baby Maeglin: This would have to be an AU (maybe in the same one as the situation above?) but look, Fingolfin deserves to meet his grandson, and Maeglin deserves to have a doting grandpa!!! Also, the implied Aredhel & Fingolfin hurt/comfort is a plus <33

Receiving oral sex while pregnant: It’s what Aredhel DESERVES. I guarantee Eöl wasn’t treating her right while she was with him...so if she escapes, Celegorm is going to make up for that!!!

Pregnant Maeglin/Celebrimbor: Poor doomed smiths! I love them very much. I usually imagine them getting together post-canon, after all their traumas, when they’ve been reembodied and are trying to live again. Aredhel is good friends with Celegorm and Curufin, so of course Maeglin will be introduced to Celebrimbor... You could also go the Celebrimbor in Gondolin route, but that’s not my preferred canon.

My Maeglin is always trans, so he’s the pregnant one in this situation. I think he’d have some hangups about pregnancy wrt his mother’s past (and possibly some dysphoria too; this is a situation where a bit of trans-related angst would be acceptable) but in the end he decides to keep the pregnancy and love his baby. Celebrimbor should be absolutely supportive and accepting of whatever Maeglin’s decision would be, but is excited to become a father himself! It would be very sweet if they ended up having a baby girl :)

Pregnant Bëor/Finrod Felagund: I headcanon Balan (Bëor) as trans, having 2 sons before meeting Finrod with a husband who died in the crossing of the Blue Mountains. He’s been widowed for a while when he meets Finrod, and ready for a new relationship! He’s older and a bit surprised when he gets pregnant again—but not nearly as surprised as Finrod, who hadn’t been intentionally conceiving a child! Peredhel shenanigans <333 My headcanon is that their peredhel son (the FIRST peredhel ever, maybe!!) is named Inglor, and he’s born among Balan’s people but moves with his dads to Nargothrond as soon as he’s old enough for them to travel. Eventually he grows up and has a kid of his own...Gildor Inglorion!

What rituals/gifts/celebrations are traditional for Balan’s people? What Telerin/Noldorin things totally weird Balan out?

Half-elf baby: Inglor (or your OC) is quite possibly the FIRST peredhel EVER...

Happily pregnant trans character: Balan’s culture has absolutely no hangups about a man being pregnant. Maybe the Amanyar did, and Finrod is unlearning that—or he’s awed and impressed that other cultures don’t have the prejudices/assumptions he’s used to?

Hybrid Pregnancy - It's Unknown What Ways The Baby Will Resemble Either Parent: Genuinely they have no idea...especially when it comes to the fate of the baby’s soul :(

Receiving oral sex while pregnant: Because it’s what Balan deserves. Also I think Finrod would be really into it.

Singing to a baby: Finrod and Balan met when Finrod took up Balan’s harp and played a song...passing that story on to their baby, through song, would be beautiful :’)

Pregnant Curufin/Finrod; Curufin/Finrod & Baby Celebrimbor: Trans Curufin whose babydaddy is Finrod is a favorite headcanon of mine <3 I especially love a very fraught relationship between Curufin and Finrod, where Curufin never actually acknowledges that Finrod is Celebrimbor’s father...which makes for a veeery awkward time in Nargothrond...

Maybe he confesses some complicated feelings about Finrod to his unborn child, which grown up Celebrimbor doesn’t remember, but does have some faint feelings about Finrod due to this...

Happily pregnant trans character: Curufin may not have wanted a relationship with Finrod, but he definitely wanted this pregnancy!

Making Toys For The Baby: Curufin is a NOLDO and his family are renowned craftspeople!! Of course they’re gonna spoil baby Tyelpë with all sorts of fantastic toys!!

Parents watching baby experience something for the first time: This would be especially bittersweet if Finrod is witnessing a toddler Tyelpë experiencing something (maybe a Telerin holiday that the Fëanorians showed up to in Alqualondë one year?) and thinking, I think he’s my son, but I don’t know, and I can’t say anything...but at least I get to have this moment ;-;

Pregnant Elenwë/Finrod/Turgon; Turgon/Elenwë/Finrod & Baby Idril; Turgon/Pregnant Elenwë/Finrod/Amárië: This is another one of my OT4s! I usually love a very repressed Turgon who’s angsting over his feelings for Finrod, but this time I’d like to see him, Finrod, and Elenwë (and maybe Amárië too) in an established relationship. That doesn’t mean it’s drama-free, though! You could have some domestic bliss in Valinor, where everyone is pampering pregnant Elenwë or doting on baby Idril...or you could do something on the Helcaraxë, where they’re all dealing with the horrors of the Ice and having a child there with them, and with missing Amárië :( If Elenwë is somehow pregnant again (HORRIBLE timing) that’s even angstier :((( Would love a bittersweet slice-of-life situation here...maybe not outright canon-compliant tragedy, but this one can definitely lean into the angst. A focus on Finrod’s role in young Idril’s life would be fantastic—does she know about his relationship to her parents? Does she remember happier times and miss Amárië too? Or is she just too young to know about those things?

Tolkien - Three+ elves can collaborate to make a baby: Let Idril have three/four spiritual parents!!! (Bio parents should remain Turgon and Elenwë though)

Maedhros & Maglor & Baby Elrond & Baby Elros: Kidnap fam my beloved <3 I love a nuanced take on this dynamic (aka, no Elwing bashing, but also no Fëanorian bashing). Are E&E actually babies, or a bit older? They’re canonically 6 when they’re kidnapped...something in the difficult early days would be really interesting. Or maybe E and/or E reminiscing on their childhood when they’re older, with babies of their own?

Russingon with Pregnant Maedhros: Russingon is my OTP of all time, I’d LOVE to receive something about them—and transpreg Russingon is even MORE of a favorite <333 For pregnant Mae, I’m imagining some Valinor-times AU-ish drama, where the secret relationship aspect is a real issue, especially regarding Mae’s family (most of all his dad...) but I do also have some ideas for drama-filled Beleriand scenarios. The baby (or babies) could be either Gil-galad or Erien—or both, if you want them to have twins!

Accidental Soulbond - Also resulted in bottom partner pregnant surprise the first time they had sex; Unplanned pregnancy as a result of sex pollen; Breeding Kink: This shit is like catnip for me <333 Sex pollen and/or breeding kink going way farther than anticipated and ending up with a surprise pregnancy (a LaCE loophole, if you will) is sooo juicy and fun!! And of course that’s going to result in a soulbond/marriage, too <3

Friends with benefits while pining further complicated by unplanned pregnancy: Could be tied in with the above—Mae is pregnant and both he and Finno are pining like crazy, but are worried the other is only tolerating their romantic affection because of the baby, but no they’re actually in love!

Courting Pregnant Love Interest (Baby Theirs); A finds out about B's pregnancy and asks B to marry them and be a family (baby theirs): Again, similarish to above—whoops, Mae is pregnant, and now Finno is determined to Properly Court him and marry him!

Secret relationship revealed due to accidental pregnancy: Orrrr they’ve been together a long time, but now this pregnancy means they can’t hide things any longer! Cue family/political drama!

Pregnancy Revealed To Impregnator When Parents Are Reunited After Forced Separation: Fëanor (or someone) finds out about Russingon and forces them apart...maybe because he can tell Mae is pregnant? But Finno doesn’t know that yet! And he doesn’t find out until much later, when Mae is visibly showing, and he’s hurt that Mae got over him so fast and got pregnant by someone else...until Mae is like, no, the baby is YOURS....!! And eventually things get sorted out and they live happily ever after :)

Happily pregnant trans character; Pregnant Sex; Character loves being pregnant because of how horny it makes them/how good the sex is: Super Duper Horny pregnant Maedhros is THE BEST EVER and also Fingon is SooOOOO turned on by Mae’s pregnant body and most of all Mae’ insatiability!

Self-sacrificing character forced to take care of self due to pregnancy: Mae is extremely self-sacrificing/self-sufficient and takes everyone’s problems upon himself, but now his family & Fingon are forcing him to take it easy...and learning to solve their own problems, lol.

Badass Character Remains Badass While Pregnant: Beleriand-era pregnant Mae refuses to back down, despite Fingon (and everyone around him) being extremely concerned about his health & the baby’s health.

A comes back from the dead and finds B has given birth to their child: Fingon returns from the dead, either miraculously and shortly after the Nírnaeth OR the “normal” way via Mandos—and finds out Maedhros had a baby while he was dead! If he comes back during the First Age, you know he’s gonna do his damndest to get to his husband and child, no matter what. And if he’s reembodied later...he’s gonna be an emotional WRECK. But maybe having Fingon’s baby changed Mae’s path/choices from what they are in canon? Maybe he could resist the Oath more because he had a bond with his child to cling to? Or maybe he still did the Kinslayings, but decided to submit to the Valar and return to Valinor when Eönwë commanded him and Maglor to do so, and so Fingon can actually reunite with him swiftly-ish!

Long lived character is reminded of long ago pregnancies/children during new pregnancy: Post-canon Maedhros, when he and Fingon are both reembodied, having another (probably OC) baby much later in life, and reminiscing about his earlier pregnancy/pregnancies from his first life <3

Bedtime Stories - retelling past adventures as bedtime stories: Could be tame-ish Valinor adventures about hunting and climbing, or it could be Maedhros telling great stories about how wonderful Fingon is, especially regarding the eagle rescue!

Eponyms and Baby Namesakes: I have soooo many feelings about baby names for Gil-galad!! Why “starlight”? Is “Artanáro” a reference to Fëanáro and Ar(t)akáno? What’s his -finwë name? Did Finellach come from somewhere? Tell me everything!!

Telepathic Bond with Baby: Communicating with the baby over long distances, since Mae and Finno are necessarily in a LDR while in Beleriand...or maybe in Valinor they are exceptionally sensitive to their baby’s psychic needs.

Russingon with Pregnant Fingon: For a pregnant Fingon, I’d like to see something focusing on their time in Beleriand with Fingon as the High Prince/his father’s heir! A discovers they are pregnant with B's child after major falling-out with B: This feels more like a Valinor-times prompt to me—Finno and Mae have a huge argument, probably over the Sword Incident, and Mae goes with Fëanor into exile...and then Finno realizes he’s pregnant. DUN DUN DUN! Again, happy ending is a must, but I love to read the angst along the way!!

Non-Birthing Character Terrified/Inconsolable During Labor: Given uhhh the whole Míriel situation, this is a Must for any Fëanorian who has a partner in labor....but Fingon is strong and confident and everything turns out okay in the end.

Kíli/Tauriel & Baby & Durin fam: My OG Tolkien ship <333 I adore a half-elven baby, even more when the other half is dwarf, not human!! They’re so sweet together and deserve so much more than what canon gave them. I’d like this to have minimal angst—an everyone lives AU where everything is fine, and even the more elf-resistant Durin family members have mostly come around to Tauriel...especially now that she and Kíli have had a super cute dwelf baby. That just seals the deal!

Kíli and Tauriel can be cis, with Tauriel pregnant, or they can be t4t with Kíli pregnant! I have a very soft spot for t4t Kiliel, I must admit, and I’d be thrilled to see a trans pregnant Kíli <3

Dear Author/Artist,

Thank you so much for creating something for me - I cannot wait to see what you come up with! I’m open to different ratings, structures, styles, and formats, and I’d be equally delighted by fic and artwork. I’ve made a list of some prompts and general things I like if it’ll help you get started, but if you have an idea for something different, please go ahead and have fun with it!

some things I love: fluff, hurt/comfort, angst with a hopeful ending, slice-of-life, humor, character studies, world-building & expansion of canon, casefic, epistolary

DNWs: asexual-spectrum characters in a romantic relationship or QPR where sex is portrayed as the ultimate goal or story resolution, or as necessary for a 'real' or mutually-satisfactory relationship (I don't mind an ace/demi character having or enjoying sex, just as long as it's not absolutely necessary for their partner's happiness)

mentions of cancer or major terminal illness, permanent major character death, extreme gore or explicit depictions of blades or other sharp objects cutting into flesh, angst without a hopeful ending

non/dub-con/coercion, incest, infidelity on the part of the main characters, hatesex, sex involving humiliation, non/dub-con, gags, choking, scat/vomit, painplay, or use of slurs

If it helps to spark inspiration, here are a few fandom/pairing specific prompts or general things I enjoy:

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Characters learning how to be good fathers/uncles when it doesn't come naturally; characters being unashamedly proud and supportive of their daughters/nieces; said daughters/nieces scheming to ensure their father/uncle's happiness; bonding over activities like music, horseback riding, chess, science, or AA-typical silly shenanigans; dancing!!; opening up about past grief or regret; loneliness and missing characters who are far away; unconventional/extended/found family bonds; letters and correspondence from a distance; first meetings and long-awaited reunions; fun but unrealistic DGS-typical science and inventions

Ace Attorney-typical silly shenanigans in general

Feel free to use whichever variations of character names you're most comfortable with! And feel free to take inspiration from the original Holmes stories, if you'd like!

Sherlock Holmes (ACD and/or Granada TV)

First meetings and long-awaited reunions; protectiveness especially after the other gets hurt (esp if they get hurt protecting their partner; heartfelt wooing even if it is awkward, inexperienced, or backfires at first; praise-kink; serenading with music; hands and rolled-up sleeves; competence; perhaps Sherlock's chemistry skills extend to baking? (or don't with hilariously disastrous consequences); reversing typical roles and expectations (maybe Watson solves the case or Holmes gets hit with emotion?)

A Holmes with some kindness and sense of humor underneath Everything Else, and a Watson who is a bit sharper than others give him credit for

Feel free to choose either ACD or Granada canon to work with - or mix elements from both however you see fit

Inspector Lewis

All the quiet devotion for Robbie and James! whether it's romantic, platonic, or something in between. Tiny, silent acts of service. Quietly making each other's day go a bit easier or standing up for each other without expecting anything in return. Chivalry/courtly love metaphors

Characters being musical; Robbie (canonically) being better at computers than other people realize; communicating silently (for better or worse and falling into step together; affectionate snarky banter; obscure poetry, literature, art, philosophy etc

Laura and Jean getting a chance to shine! whether at work solving a case together, at some outside activity (maybe they play music together or shine together at a fancy party?), and getting a chance to make each other happy (does Mr Innocent even really exist?)

Outsider pov; extended character backstories; workplace dynamics of all sorts, but especially more lighthearted shenanigans, whether it's solving a case or (yet more) team building ideas from Innocent that everyone grudgingly goes along with, to workplace prank wars or rivalries, to after-hours parties or other social events. Feel free to bring in other canonical or original characters as you need!

Poirot

Quiet devotion; flipped character expectations or roles; snazzy dressing and the intimacy that comes with helping another dress or get ready; dates outings to restaurants, museums, the theater, the beach, etc; affectionate teasing and banter; first meetings and long-awaited reunions; hands and rolled up sleeves

A Hastings who is a bit sharper than others often give him credit for (and who is just. always there on Poirot's couch reading the newspaper XD)

more Miss Lemon! whether it's her fashion sense, her love of cats and listening to Raffles on the radio, or her filing system and intelligence

Outsider pov; extended character backstories; Found family dynamics! whether it's banter or going to the seaside together, or working together seamlessly to solve a case. Perhaps Poirot is away or injured and the others have to solve a case? Or several of them get together to throw together a secret surprise for the remaining person? Or maybe how did they first come to meet each other?

The prompt is for the Suchet tv series, but feel free to mix in elements from the original books if you'd like!

Jeeves

Quiet (or not so quiet, in Bertie's case) devotion and admiration; praise-kink; snazzy dressing (and undressing); serenading with music, poetry, dancing, or food; reversed character roles; hurt/comfort, perhaps Bertie tries to cook or have some Valentine's surprise for Jeeves (for better or for worse?), or perhaps one of them has a secret admirer with unsigned presents or cards?; old married couples living happily in retirement; there's a tie than binds

Strong female characters getting to shine and be smart and be happy together! Do they have their own equivalent to the Drones Club? I'd imagine it would be quite different-what goes on there?

Outsider pov; extended character backstories; what goes on in the Junior Ganymede club? Is it all beaurocracy and dignity or do they ever get to have a little fun? Does Jeeves have friends, mentors, mentees? Are Jeeves and his tales of Bertie still renowned in the club book years later? Do they know that Jeeves is queer (if you choose to make him so)? What is his relationship with his family (esp Charlie? was he a beloved mentor or something else? How does he get introduced to Bertie, especially after all the switch-ups at Deverill Hall?) Is Seppings a mentor to Jeeves? Perhaps he knew Bertie as a child and gives Jeeves advice (or the shovel talk)

The prompt is for the original book series, but feel free to mix in elements from the Fry & Laurie tv adaptation if you'd like!

Crossover

Poirot & Jeeves: the genius and their optimistic, golden retriever partner dynamics! Maybe Hastings and Bertie have to work together to save the day, or Hastings becomes a mentor/big brother figure to Bertie or the Drones club members. Jeeves and Poirot bonding over culture, sharp dressing, or solving mysteries and scheming to save the day. Or perhaps they become rivals if their goals are at odds?

DGS & Jeeves: Maybe Bertie and Albert went to school together (and w Barok) and bonded over their similar optimistic and friendly characters (through Albert was more academic minded?) Or does Bertie sympathize with Albert getting accused for something he didn't do and invites him to join the Drones club (how dangerous would it be to introduce mad science to the Drones). Did Jeeves work for the van Zieks in the past? Or does Jeeves' scheming put him at odds w/ van Zieks and the law? What would Jeeves make of van Ziek's clothing choices?

ACD Holmes & Jeeves: Do Jeeves and Holmes hit it off together and make genius level plans capable of taking over the world? Or are they immediate, distrustful rivals, each trying to outdo the other (definitely not trying to show off of anything). Perhaps Bertie and Watson (and maybe Jeeves) have to team up to solve a case or rescue Holmes? Is Bertie or Jeeves a fan of the Strand Holmes stories, and they're excited to meet their literary heroes in person? Or maybe Bertie and Watson bond over playing "Boswell" to a dark-haired genius?

Feel free to have fun and play fast and loose with canon or historical accuracy/timelines/setting with any of these!
