Dunking on bi women in relationships with men, bi men in relationships with women, and straight trans people gains you no queer points, by the way. You're an asshole and I'm cursing your favorite snack to be out of stock at your local grocery store for months.

You wanna know something crazy?
I work for a LGBTQ+/Queer non-profit, I’ve had to sit in on training seminars on how to best support our community, how to create a space that is actually safe for everyone in the community, etc.
You wanna know the one thing that was emphasized by these professionals running these seminars (who are also a part of the community btw)
Telling queer people what their labels for their identity ought to be is extremely harmful.
Gatekeeping the community from other people who are figuring themselves out because of labels is harmful?! Shocker I know, but yes it is.
You know what this means right? It means that:
You don’t get to tell a guy experimenting with queer sex that he’s gay/bi/queer/etc if he ID’s as straight
You don’t get to tell a woman experimenting with queer sex that she’s lesbian/bi/queer/etc. if she ID’s as straight
You don’t get to tell aces who are hetero sexual/Romantic that they don’t belong in queer spaces
You don’t get to blame bi lesbians/m-spec women for creepy cishet men entering wlw spaces to hit on women (in an entitled way) (that’s called misogyny babes)
You don’t get to tell someone they are unlovable/not deserving of a relationship/etc. because of the label they use
You don’t get to tell people that actions invalidate their labels because “actions speak louder than words”
You don’t get to demand to know what labels someone uses because of their actions. (Or you don’t force someone to out themselves)
You don’t apply labels to someone from pure speculation (you could be outing someone and putting them in danger)
You don’t get to tell people their labels are “contradictory” or “don’t make sense” and demand they choose one label over the other
Other Labels cannot harm your own identity, and if you act like it can your wrong and harming the community
And ultimately, It means that according to actual professionals within the lgbtq non-profit space, the exclusionists in the community are wrong and are doing immeasurable harm.
Basically what I’m saying is that everyone is welcome here on my blog, policing identity is harmful, and yes, the exclusionists that told you that your identity is invalid or made fun of you for your identity we’re so fucking wrong.
Everyone who experiences sexual orientation, attraction, gender identity, and gender expression differently belongs within our community.
Gatekeeping only keeps people deserving of services away from the spaces where they can get those services. It keeps them away from peer support. And that’s not good, especially if you know the statistics for self harm and suicide within the community.

hey not to be that guy but with dykes & lesbians like kristen stewart who wanna be masculine as a woman It kinda hurts to see ppl be like "omg just be transgender already" as if butch/masc/gnc cis lesbians dont exist to them. Yeah sure transmasc/trans men lesbians/dykes are awesome and shit I am one myself but a cis woman can be as gnc/masc/butch as well. She could go on hormones and get top surgery and still be considered cis if she wants to. I havent read the article i dont rlly care for celebrities but yall. why are you trying to erase butch/masc cis lesbians. why are you trying to erase the gnc cis lesbians apart of our community. I would love for some huge celebrity to come out as a male dyke myself but you also gotta learn to appreciate the cis gnc dykes too :/ also like. yes there are def cis lesbians who are shitty and scummy and exclude us who are gnc/masc/butches/etc and especially there sre those that exclude us who are transmasculine/trans men/multigender and consider ourselves as men. This is not the point tho. Lesbians either cis or trans can be gnc/butch all they want. you can uplift the gnc cis dykes as much as you uplift the gnc trans dykes! being cis isnt a morally bad thing ok?
I AM A RADINCLUS (NOT RADQUEER!!) SO EXCLUSIONISTS + LESBIAN SEPARATISTS DNI

"but if we accept anyone's identity, cis men will start IDing as lesbians"
yes. there probably are already cisgender men who do ID as lesbians. there are probably amab multigender, genderflux, and genderfluid lesbians who are sometimes, partially, or always cis men. there are probably intersex cis men who feel their intersexuality gives them a unique experience with gender/attraction that can possibly only be described as "lesbian." there are probably people with systems whose headmates are cisgender men and lesbians and have times where both of those states exist at once. there are probably cis men who just have a complicated relationship with their attraction that "lesbian" feels like the best label to.
I am not willing to nor will I ever spend my free time trying to police what other people are trying to describe internally. it's pretty fuckin obvious when someone is IDing as something in good faith, and as long as that person is genuinely trying to encapsulate their experience and find a community within that experience, I will be there to hold hands with them as a fellow lesbian.

Reminder that supporting lgbt people means supporting ALL lgbt people. If there's a "but" in your inclusion, you are in fact not supporting the community, you are buying into right wing "no weirdos" propoganda

Binary Boy Lesbian
Tumblr media
[ID: A rectangular flag with six stripes. Colors of stripes in order from top to bottom: cornflower blue, pastel violet-blue, pastel arctic blue, white, light mulberry and medium orchid. END ID]
Binary boy lesbian - a lesboy microlabel which refers to someone who is a binary boy/man/guy and a lesbian.
This can be caused by many reasons.
Being multigender and mainly idetify with binary genders while also being a lesbian.
Being a binary trans man and experience gay/queer attraction to women.
Being a cis lesboy (lescoy).
...and any other reasons! (or no reasons :) )
Meaning of stripes
First three blue stripes represent various experiences in being a binary man. First stripe represents cis men; second stripe represents trans men; third stripe represents intersex men.
White stripe represents complicated identities, inclusivity and queer pride.
Light mulberry stripe represents all lesbians, their experiences and community.
Medium orchid stripe represents a-spec, loveless and other lesbians who are not allo-spec or experiencing their attraction not typically.

Gender is fucked up sexual and romantic attractions are fucked up, mix and match your labels and have fun and be whoever you want to be because as long as you're not forcing anyone to conform to your definitions and you're not doing things like cultural appropriation or something like that then you're fine, people don't have any right to say you don't exist just because they don't understand or relate to your identity, it's YOUR identity you're not asking them to relate
(very cishet of y'all to act like that btw)

One thing I will always hate about the queer community (coming from someone who is a part of the queer community) is that many people think that it is 100% ok to gatekeep, invalidate, or bully/harass people who use terms and labels they have never heard of before or don't understand.
An example would be if two people meet and person b uses a term/label that person a doesn't know or understand, and instead of trying to understand and being respectful towards person b, person a does the exact opposite.
Like, if it's a genuinely harmful label (such as MAP, transracial, transabled, semi-bisexual, or womaantihaemosexual) then sure gatekeep away. If a person is misusing a label just try and explain how they are misusing the label in a polite way, and if they refuse to understand then that isn't your fault or problem. What I'm getting at is that being nasty towards people for no other reason than them using a term that you don't understand/know is not ok and only causes more issues for this community.

Seeing a frankly disturbing influx of T.ERFS on this site, so here’s a reminder that TERF and alt right fascists are one and the same, it’s always ethical to punch both. I am a they/them, genderqueer, bisexual (on the spectrum of ace, varying from day to day), I am brown, androgynous and the foppish, well read, bi Quaintrelle your parents warned you about. I’m not male or female, I am a threat, and the moral panic is about me. Lastly, to all T.ERFS, it’s on site if you come near me, have fun getting ideologically torn to shreds and blocked. Respect trans people or gtfo.

Also, Anne Rice championed bisexuality and transgender rights until she died. You do her a disservice coming near me.
