Cha Cha - Rainbow Blaxx. The MV is amazing and I don't know how the song never got big!

Gun - 9MUSES. Okay, so everybody was GOREGOUS in this era. I love Hyuna so much :'(. Justice for 9MUSES they had so much potential.

Miniskirt - AOA. A classic. So catchy. I know how we feel about the AOA drama but I still stan them for their music and concepts. I don't respect the drama but I can't help but vibe to the music lol.

Up & Down - EXID. You already know how it is.

Guilty - Stellar. So this song is incredible. I feel bad for Stellar. Watching their MVs and fancams give me creepy vibes just because of how they were treated. I love their music to this day.

A - Rainbow. So catchy. Fun choreography. All of the members were so pretty rip.

Russian Roulette - Spica. Will someone please explain to me how in the WORLD this song wasn't huge? MY EARS ARE CRYING FROM HOW GOOD IT IS.

Glue - 9MUSES. I LOVE THIS SONG :'(

Expectation - Girl's Day. Classic. I'm not sure what it is but every time this song comes on in my playlist I lose my mind.

Mask - Stellar. This song genuinely makes me cry. It's just so pretty and I love it.

Kpop Idols and Their Placements as Astro Observations

Note: As always these are just personal observations but with Kpop Idols and their placements.

Leo placements in general have no trouble stealing the spotlight but especially Leo moons seem to be effortlessly noticed. Something about their personality or appearance just stands out in a very good way. They are usually the ones with the most popularity in their respective groups. Add a little bit of Air placements and they are just super vibrant.

Examples: Sooyoung, Tiffany, Yoona (SNSD); CL (2NE1); Taeyong, Haechan (NCT)

People with their Sun opposing their Moon usually have a very playful and child-like energy. Initially could come off as slightly immature (amplified if Fire and Air signs are involved). These individuals also have an amazing duality to them.

Examples: Jackson (GOT7); Hyunjin, Han, I.N. (Stray Kids)

Men with Venus in Aquarius or Capricorn seem to be the most prominent placement for being the ultimate “ideal type”. They are also extremely heavily biased in their respective groups. This effect is only amplified if they have a stellium in one of those signs.

Examples: Kai (EXO); JB (GOT7); Kun, Jaehyun, Lucas (NCT)

Women with prominent Aries placements (especially stelliums) usually stand out for being very genuine. More than the aggressive stereotype, they just seem to be very chill, unique and honest. They are also super popular with other women.

Examples: Hani (EXID); Ryujin (ITZY), Irene (Red Velvet)

Your Mars sign is pretty under looked when viewing at what aspect of yourself brings you fame. Most idols are very well-know for working hard on the traits that their Mars sign represents.

Examples: Venusian Mars (Jeno, Jaehyun - NCT) - Known for their visuals, their positive interactions with other members and their sense of style. Also very adored by the fans.

Pisces Mars (Ten, Jungwoo - NCT) - Known for their creativity, flexibility and being very open and in-tune with their emotions.

When we are talking about fashion, I think Pisces Venus is extremely underrated. Venus is exalted in Pisces and these individuals are just so aesthetic in the eyes of others. They are widely appreciated for being elegant and exquisite.

Example: Jennie (BLACKPINK)

More than any other signs, I feel like prominent Sagittarius placements have the most athleticism. They just look like they will do good with sports and they actually do. They also seem to enjoy working out very very much. Bonus points if they also have Aries placements. These individuals also tend to eat very well. On the other hand, Leo placements seem to look at it more as an obligation.

Example: Minho (SHinee); Jeno (NCT); Victoria [f(x)]

Venus in Scorpio are the type of individuals who tend to pour their all into relationships and are very devoted. And if the relationship comes to an end, they need to put in twice the effort to just move on. But once they are done, they are done. They don’t look back (More true if they have an Air Moon).

Example: Krystal [f(x)]

Gemini Moons are more than capable of being very introverted and closed off but they really can’t hide their Mercury energy. They really rationalize their emotions but in such a hilarious manner. If you want to make them feel better, try making jokes or just let them rant (depending on the situation of course). The standard emotional approach really does not work with them. Also all the Gemini Moons I have seen are like super smart and they know it.

Example: Doyoung (NCT)

I have heard so much about Cancer Sun (especially men) being traditional, boring or over-emotional and yet I haven’t met a single Cancer Sun like that. Although other placements are vital as well, these individuals are so funny and even savage. I think the stereotypes tend to be more prominent in Cancer Moon/Mars individuals.

Example: Heechul (Super Junior), Taemin (SHINee)

omg this is such a fun question!!

i would either debut under high up entertainment - stayc's company!! they were founded by producer duo black eyed pilseung and they have a great ear for what's in style and what can be innovative music wise. or i would go the obvious way and debut with SM just because i truly love the artistic vision in that company and bc of all the idols that would be my coworkers lmaooo

tbh i think i would have to debut in a 5-7 member group. less than 5 can be boring and any slip ups are more obvious and more than 7 makes it hard to stand out. i think 6 would be the sweet spot

my concept would have to be grown women. not exactly a sexy women concept but all my band mates would have to be over the age of 23. think EXID, brown eyed girls, sistar etc. like we're talking about WOMEN and I don't wanna see none of that schoolgirl shit or cutesy bubblegum concepts. BUT I would not have a girl crush concept either cause that's too boring.

I think my group would have a very neon glitter party concept but a little editorial. like I don't wanna say euphoria aesthetic but kinda euphoria aesthetic. this is a little moodboard I just put together to show you lol

like this would be our debut and everyone would be GAGGED idc idc like the teasers could be handheld camcorder videos with that fuzzy texture from vhs and it's just ourselves recording each other on a night out... and ofc we would be slutty but not from a male gaze perspective. like I imagine all the korean incel men just crying about it on knet forums cause we're not showing skin the way they want to LMAO

i think a problem with a lot of kpop fans is that they either over- or under-state how much control a company has in an idol's life.

like, it's no secret that companies have a say in almost everything an idol does publicly, and privately, in some cases. plenty of idols have talked about having to go behind their managers' backs to eat, meet with friends, or even just go out at night. crayon pop had a curfew despite all of the members being at least 21 by the time they debuted. dkb had to share a group phone, which was their only communication with their parents, for their first two years. hundreds of idols have talked about being on a company-enforced diet or exercise regiment, even if they are a perfectly healthy weight. there is unarguable control that every company has when it comes to an idol's life that can't be denied.

however, there are liberties given. more and more idols are given the chance to partake in the production of their comebacks, whether that be the aesthetic of the music video, the lyrics or composition of the song, or their choreography. pentagon, dkb, seventeen, twice, exid, dreamcatcher— these are just a fraction of the groups who have some kind of say in their music. many have input when it comes to their outfits for stages, it's not like every cordi staff is playing dressup with idols without their consent. and yes, this even happens with the cultural appropriation that idols have done: it isn't all staff's fault all the time. yuto of pentagon wore dreads of his own accord, but later apologized since he didn't realize the meaning behind them. it was his fault, but he took responsibility for it.

and there is a lot of nuance that is required when discussing the control companies have. not every group— and not even every member within the same group or the same group at different periods of time— will have the same freedoms given. and just because a group or idol is given some liberties, it doesn't mean they are in complete control of their career. seventeen had a lot of creative control when it came to their comebacks, but pretty much every other aspect of their lives were controlled by staff when they were rookies (and thats not even getting into the physical and emotion abuse they and many other groups endured at the hands of their company). a lot of the time, companies are more restrictive when a group or idol first debuts, but give them more leniancy as they get further in their careers or reach some kind of arbitrary goal set by the company (there is a reason why so many groups want their first win so early in their careers besides the trophy)

its really important for us to be critical of idols and companies both, and take into consideration the unique circumstances of each idol and company. its reductive to always blame the company every time something happens, but its equally as harmful to believe that an idol has full control over everything they do.

Hi there! A little about me:

My name is Cici and I’m 29. I’ve been listening to k-pop since 2009 consistently, with SHINee’s Ring Ding Dong being the song that started it all for me.

This is the side blog to my main blog, @stonehearttae, which is a SHINee aesthetic blog I’ve been running for 10 years now. You’ll see likes and follows come from there, and reblogs/interactions come from here, usually later. This is only because I’m on tumblr at 3 am on a work night and my insomnia is driving me insane, so I browse for something to read to fall asleep and forget to switch blogs. I am almost always on mobile, so I’m apologizing in advance for terrible formatting & general wonkiness.

Eventually I will catch up on follows & reblogs and finally stop using my main, but it’s slow-going rn since I work full-time and have other commitments during the day.

So I keep this wall of sticky notes that I update with songs that take my fancy throughout the season, and now that it's December, it's time to take off my fall stickies and start a new wall.
