really fascinated by the Clovis AI vs Clovis-1 (later Banshee-44). I know this has probably been discussed before but. the AI is an exact replica of Clovis Bray I's consciousness put into a giant exo body (the head, anyway), while Clovis-1 was a normal exo meant to be Clovis reborn/given a second life. but being a typical exo his memories were reset so he's like. no longer an asshole lol. like this is one of the first interactions he has after waking up (speaking to Elsie and the Clovis AI):

it's such an interesting contrast. here the original Clovis was hoping this exo was going to be an exact continuation of him. his life, his legacy, his research. that he'd continue to propagate the exos and make an army of them (if the Vex invasion + Collapse hadn't happened, anyway). Clovis is selfish and doesn't care if most of humanity dies because he just sees them as future exos. he wants everyone to be a product of his legacy. but Clovis-1 basically sacrifices himself 43 times to save people and help shut down the vex portal.

idk there isn't much of a point I'm trying to make here I just think it's an interesting study of how humanity isn't inherently evil and being untouched by the influence of the Darkness (and monopolistic capitalism lol), Clovis-1 is a good person. he even wished he could've kept his memory to help repair the broken relationship between him and his granddaughter, Elsie, but ofc after 43 resets he lost most of what made him Clovis (perhaps for the best).

I’m playing warlock again. Mostly because I just really love Stormcaller but Shadebinder has been a blast lately. Even if stasis really isn’t all that strong rn. But also just look at them!

Bungie went hard on the exos. Would love more race-specific content. Even if it’s just more subtle dialog changes like how awoke are “cousins” and how Rahul calls exos “mysteries”. I also want to meet more civilian exos! Where are they? What are they doing? How do they integrate into City society? Do they have doctors? Special restaurants or stores? I need MORE.

New Lore for new Exo OC ideas

With the new Dungeon Spire of the Watcher out, new lore came out as well which is all really good (you should read it) but there was a part that surprised the hell out of me and showed so many funny/angsty implications with it for Exo OC ideas.

There’s a section in the new dungeon Helmet and class item I’m specifically referencing. Helmet:

TLDR: An Exo and a ghost share a connection with a Neural link and because of that, the ghost can take over the Exo and use their light abilities. LIKE!! THATS SO COOL. It opens so many possibilities for story telling!!

some quick ideas that floated in my head after reading it,

Joker-3s (who is usually a big old grump) being taken over by Buddy (his ghost and who is super hyper and friendly) could lead to her ‘trying to cheer him up” by bringing him on a fun adventure or smthn

Aran-8′s ghost Spike taking over to stop him from his violent rampages against the Hive when he should rest or go visit his friends.

Chimera-2′s ghost Charon taking over Chimera when the Vex part of his mind in control to maybe help Chimera fight it off back for control.

Taura-5s ghost Sparkplug(still working on name) Taking over to join in on the explosive fun (Taura’s a volatile voidlock.)

This is a really cool idea Bungie has brought us and us Exo oc enjoyers should use it for many shenanigans >:)

//Ok random thing but I’ve figured out Echo’s mouth and how she’s able to have synth-flesh in it without looking any different than any other Exo. It’s like a tongue that stays on the bottom of the jaw normally and then rolls (lifts its sides to the edges of the top jaw) to do things like eat, drink, etc.

I'm obsessing over my Exo Hunter, Anthem-99, all over again. He was one of the first Exos ever made. He became an Exo because he was born as Marie, a woman, in the wild west circa 1890s, then lived to be over 100 before becoming an Exo. He knew for all those 100+ years he was a man, but the technology nor vocabulary existed to describe what he was experiencing.

Anthem, as Marie, journaled about his feelings, his desires to be a man, and remembers nothing of his old life before becoming an Exo except for this desire, and that he was offered the chance to become an Exo by someone he doesn't know anymore (he assumes Clovis Bray, but both are not sure since they went through several memory wipes).

Anthem, at over 100 years old, went through the process to erase all his past memories and become an Exo, programmed with his name of Anthem. However! Marie wouldn't escape his mind regardless of the process. Anthem knew he was trans when he woke up, rather than thinking he'd been born male. And so, a few months later, he went through a reset, but still, the name Marie, and being born in the wrong body, wouldn't leave.

Anthem went through enough resets that he surpassed the 20 maximum limit, and Marie still lived as just a lingering memory unable to fade away entirely.

Eventually, Anthem died (unknown how, this is lost to time), and was risen toward the end of the Dark Ages of Iron Lords. This time, all his past had been erased, and he'd truly forgotten about his family that outcast him, or maybe he outcast them? He was unsure. He forgot about his struggles in his first life. But, despite everything being gone, one thing remained.

Marie.

A name.

Anthem's memory hardly worked at all. His Ghost, Hymn, told him he'd gone through 99 resets. Immediately, those words faded and the Exo asked his Ghost what his reset count was again.

Anthem far surpassed any Exo in resets. He'd gone through 5x the maximum amount allowed, but somehow survived. Lost, dazed, like an old person with Alzheimer's, Anthem's Ghost led him to the Last City. But the entire time, Anthem knew only one thing that was certain: he used to be Marie.

When Anthem relearned about Exos, he put two and two together, recognizing his journey to transition to male as an Exo, and he began questioning why Marie never went away. How, after 99 resets, and becoming a Guardian, did he still remember the most vile, awful, least desirable thing of himself and his past? The very reason he became an Exo was because it promised forgetting about his past life and giving him a new start. Furthermore, Guardians lived with a clean slate, no memories at all except for their names.

And somehow, with just a name, and nothing else, Marie lived on. As Anthem. In Anthem.

And he didn't want her to. He wanted her dead. He killed her, the world killed him, and he lived again as a new person with the knowledge of transitioning, with the knowledge that Marie cannot ever die. Nobody can truly escape their past. Regardless of how bad they want to.

Anthem is an allegory for myself. He is the reminder that, although I am me, although I've changed entirely and let the past go, it hasn't let me go in turn. It never will. It'll exist, even if just faintly.

Felwinter took a second to squint at the offending piece of furniture, everytime someone moved his damn chair unsavoury things happened and the Exo always found himself in some unfortunate situation or another.

Perhaps next time he should just push it to another table…

"its good to see you rebound as zealously as Osiris claimed, Eroupa, she usually has tourist on their ships and back to earth within a week!" The titan mused thoughtfully with an air the Exo couldn't place, still the man's presence confused him…had he changed his mind about the compensation?

"Are you seeking recompense for the ride you afforded me two nights ago?, name the price but be quick about it, I have a call to make" Felwinter stated shortly, fixing the titan with a cool stare of indifference.

What?! Ha! Of course not! I'm just on break, thought I may as well play catch up with my employer's past mentor, well?"

"Well what?" Felwinter's optics squinted, uncertain of what the titant in the apron sought from him.

"Did you get your sparrow from that ditch? Or is she still buried in ice?" Shaxx clarified

"It, has been recovered though I've not a place in mind to take it in for repairs, at least not at the moment" Shaxx perked up visibly much to Felwinter's confusion

"Well, I happen to know a mechanic who could be of use to you, he's a tad forgetful but there isn't a piece of machinery out there he can't fix, Saint and I have been going to him for years.. I could refer you if still here by the time I get off shift..which will likely be around the next 40 minutes or so.." Shaxx offered helpfully, his head lifting to glance at the old clock hanging..

"Or I happen to be heading there after shift, you could tag along see for yourself…"

"There is a chance I will still be about.." The exo murmered indicisively, he hadnt a clue why the titan was being so … Well amancible,
