#exploitation is always unethical

Been listening to a lot of Dr. Steven Hassan (expert on cults/authoritarian control tactics and licensed mental health practitioner) talk about coercive influence lately.
And a huge thing is sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation is a key factor in influencing peoples minds because when you are sleep deprived, your prefrontal cortex is highly impaired. This is important because this part of your brain is responsible for functions related to critical thinking, logical reasoning & reality testing, decision making, and emotional & behavioral regulation, among other things. This makes you much more suggestable to others' whole-cloth agendas and potentially coercive ideas.
According to the CDC, nearly 1/3 of American adults are chronically sleep deprived and the NIH reports nearly 40% of American adults have reported falling asleep during the day without meaning to. Roughly the same amounts (1 out of 3 and 1 out of 4 depending on the age group) of Canadian adults are chronically sleep deprived.
Getting enough sleep FOR YOU is a HUGE protective factor against people and groups influencing your thought patterns. (Sleep needs DO vary among individuals due to a number of factors but the average adult needs between 7-9 hours while teenagers ages 13-18 need 8-10 hours, again according to the CDC.) This "influence" could be something as intense and insidious as cult recruiters, but also something as "minor" as non-straightforward advertising, reactionary politics, or black-and-white thinking.
Getting enough sleep (as well as enough food and non-sleep rest) helps you think for yourself and practice critical thinking to your full potential! This protective factor cannot be understated. If a group/religious organization/company/etc you are in is consistently pushing to deny you adequate sleep, that is a RED FLAG.
For people interested in learning more I highly recommend Dr. Hassan's books including and his landmark Combatting Cult Mind Control: Guide to Protection, Rescue, and Recovery from Destructive Cults.
For people more multimedia-oriented, he has many many wonderful interviews he's done (found easily by searching his name on Youtube) about his personal experience being coerced into and rescued from a cult in his early 20s, and the analytical tool he developed called the BITE Model to help assess any kind of group or movement for various types of unethical/coercive influence factors! He also has a wonderful podcast that interviews people who have left cults/high control groups called "The Influence Continuum" that you can find pretty much anywhere you get your podcasts!
There's tons of free resources including his BITE Model and his Influence Continuum Model (which helps people place influencing factors on a scale from ethical to unethical) which can be found on his website freedomofmind.com)

‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ ♡ ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ ♡ ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
synopsis :
your job is simple. as long as you exploit and delude the men at the top of the social pyramid, ada sponsored you with her safety and training. though, your naivete made it easy for ada to convince you that you weren't just some dirty pawn stationed in a particular estate—which happens to be leon's next mission area.
when he encounters you to perform your arrest, leon prays to any god up there that he has the patience not to mess you over for turning into the person you've become today.
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ ♡ ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ ♡ ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿
"— just listen to me, damn it!" leon scolded as he tugged onto the metal that strung your cuffed wrists together, cutting your retorts off with your abrupt grit of pain. your insistence of denying his chances without hearing him out made you more irritable than you already were. "you have no idea what you're carrying. you're gonna start a fucking epidemic if you take that anywhere near ada, you understand?"
it was understandable. you were carrying a formula. some unethical, potent 'opium' derived from a variant of the t-virus. freshly baked by some ex-umbrella geeks, it was marketed to be an effective drug, planned to be distributed to some sort of paramilitary in spain to modify their strength to inexplicable heights (which was proved to be false, yet some arrogant virologists insisted it had potential, so unethical 'scientists' wanted to get their hands on improving it). that's all you know about it, anyway.
leon's true nature behind his words rooted from the fact that he was fucking worried for you and it's not only because of the position that ada put you in right now. that enigmatic woman, treating you like some guinea pig and you couldn't even see it. it surprised leon that you were even alive.
leon knew you way before ada discovered you in that dark junction, before you dropped out of police academy without a word and went back to your old ways of 'getting through life'.
leon was your role model. he was the first one to make friends with you while you stood 'incompetent' in that academy.
but people dug their eyes in you because of your history. all it takes is a few facebook searches and some names for the other fellow cadets to define you using your past. and when the awareness rose to leon, he was the first one to defend you.
the eidetic memory of you; you were sat on a hall bench with his jacket hung loosely over your dropping shoulders, gripping an unopened water bottle that turned lukewarm. your fingers felt numb from the tremors of anxiety, and the broodingly saddened look in your eyes.
he was knelt in front of his dear friend, trying to reassure you that people can change, and you were already making those efforts. his thumbs held your palms when with a serious tone, encouraged you into promising him that you will never change; because you are a sweet girl and you never deserved to be shamed for something you thought was your survival. within this promise, he also promised you that as long as you kept your self-faith you will never go back to what you hated being. you should've seen how genuine his smile look when you chuckled sheepishly, the flush on your cheeks earning a double reasoning.
and now, it pained him more to realize that he regrets not making another promise, one he held back from saying that night. don't leave him.
a very selfish, unwarranted yet passionate part of him believes that you'd been so cruel to him, abandoning him like that. and now you want to leave again?
now you're being reprimanded by the cop who you looked at like he was a hero.
where was the bright cadet in those eyes, the one that looked up to him?
and it was just great of you to articulate further on how much he underestimated your stubbornness."i'm slowing you down. if it's not me (who will escort the sample), it's gonna be ada. you thought she was a one-man job? that you can somehow negotiate with her because you guys fucked once? my god, have you ever changed?-" out of being so naive? but the words don't follow because he knows you were going to say it.
leon's hand slid from your back to grip harshly at the back collar of your shirt, lifting your chest up from the table abruptly. he locked eyes with you, hidden tension bubbling the air like odorless toxins. he scoffs, and his low voice turned deliberate as he tried to spell the irony out for you. "ada. doesn't. work with people. she uses them, and you're not some 'special exception'."
and it's true, he knows it all too well..
"she uses... people like you." you were quick to correct him indignantly with a struggling breath. leon knew nothing about you and ada. ada was like a big sister to you. she taught you what you couldn't learn at police academy. she understood where you came from, and she knows the lowest moments in your life. but leon knew all of that too, didn't he?
"you know why?"
he scoffs. "enlighten me." and there was a subtle increase of tightness in his grip, eyes narrowing down at your bent-over body in anticipation.
"'cause you're a fuck up, kennedy."
upon hearing your quips, he thought maybe he should add a small noise of pain to it, because he flushed you further against the surface with a force that hinted irritation. he had enough of this pointless hissing. "listen, y'little bitch..." he gruffed with the mere frustration surging his voice. he's probably never addressed a woman like that, but oh, how people can shift within the span of their emotion. "you have the sample, now tell me where it is. and if you have it, then you know what to do."
leon wasn't confident that you had the item on you, knowing ada was most likely using you as a decoy. he didn't want to hurt you. even if you've looked like you've changed; to him, you haven't..
of course you were holding the "formula", leon was just dumb enough to think you actually had it on you. your eyes fluttered before you laughed emptily in heavy breaths, peeking over your shoulder whilst he did not let up on you. your torso was starting to fucking hurt. but so was your pride. "then come get it, rookie." you baited.
you ignited an internal burn he didn't even know he had. one that reached the peak of its abrasion.
"..fuck you." he growled inaudibly before you yelped, feet off the ground. and fuck ada, too.
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ ♡ ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ ♡ ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿
if you were gonna keep acting like a brat, he was going to fuck you like one.
his hand came behind your head, locking your hair in a tight grip while you felt his tongue glide against yours in a messy kiss. an overwhelming amount of affectionate frustration surged as he propped you up firmer on that desk. he ate your whines as he tired your damp mouth out, the rising feeling of grudge-rooted sexual frustration pining somewhere inside him hotly.
"why do you hate me so much, mmm?" he gasped quietly for a breath, his hand letting go of your hair and holding both sides of your hips, hastily pulling your pants up mid-thigh. he needed to be inside you, he just needed it so bad..
"cause you're .. hhah.. y-you've become too cocky f'your own good, kennedy-" leon scoffs at the sight of you drooled up with the trails of mixed saliva. you're sure that's not you? you could've fooled him, you were fucking sopping—trails of your essence sticking to your underwear. it made him moan low in desperation. he wanted to lick it all up. "is that right.." he muttered with utter lack of amusement as his cold thumb glided over your fluids absentmindedly, spreading one fold apart slightly to get a better look. his eyes soften, breath hitching knowing it's gonna feel so good inside you.
"d-definitely too cocky!-" you insisted with a contrast whine that emitted from your sweet voice, expecting him to start off with letting you adjust to his tip first. but you're hopeless for thinking leon would ever go soft on you just because you only remember the "naive" version of him years ago. people change, right?
you were suddenly squirming when you felt him fill and thrust into you thickly, humbling your little cunny as it pulsated. dumb little bunny, leon thinks to himself, watching you start to fluster and retort weakly beneath him with your ankles on his shoulders.
his hand comes up to your head, smacking your cheek swiftly. "shut up. shut the fuck up." he growls, eyes narrowing mildly, holding your cheeks with one hand as he pried your little mouth open. his thoughts were so guiltily dirty, wondering how cute your throat would look filled with his cock. he'll have to try another time, though, wouldn't he? for now his ring and middle finger deliberately slide into your tongue, savoring the minor 'hhnnn' that lolled out of your sticky tongue as your eyes peered up at him glassily.
the words 'fuck me' were written all over your eyes when his gaze locks down to yours. and could he resist such a pretty baby?- why were you so pretty?
it's a shame that you made so much effort to treat him indifferently, calling him by his last name and all...
your vision felt cloudy given that you were full of leon. but you catch glimpse of the way he smirks at himself before he leans down much closer to your face, folding your legs over and not giving a fuck if it hurts. the simple shift in angle had you crying out as his tip grazed over the right spots.
he spits a string of saliva down into your forced-open mouth, hoping it would furtherly aid in getting you to shut up over something so trivial. "so fucking dirty..." his fingers gently traced your bottom lip while he whispers with mock-disgust, yet it's laced with affection- a twisted pair of feelings that has him needing you at incalculable rates.
his hands come down to the exposed flesh of your hips, fingers dipping into your skin as he holds you still on his girth. it felt even better when you could feel his bulging size rub up inside you hastily— the way he was fucking you fervently and not letting you get away. you're never fucking leaving his sight, or his mind.
"h-how's this for.. uhh-..nngh.. being cocky? huh?" he groaned roughly after stammering with the embers of his frustration. leon's frustrated that he can't speak without stammering, so he takes it out on you with punishing thrusts that have you sobbing louder, mending his ego by ruining yours. he's stripping your pride away with each push into your sweet spots.
you gave in, vulnerable as you started to blabber from the way you were getting your breath knocked up. "hnggghh.... ahh!-.. l-leon!~ n-not there!-"
"there it is.." he mutters to himself sweetly mid-fucking-you-full. you're finally talking to him properly, how cute.. "more, baby?" he taunts with a struggling moan but he doesn't let you react; the only reaction he wants is you reducing beneath him, proving it by his fingers bruising your skin as he rammed into you in a desperate pace. "ngghh uhh.. fuck-" he whines loudly, your hole squelching uncontrollably as he fucks the juices out of you with every sweet drag of his sensitive shaft.
you turn him so soft he hates you for it.. he has such a soft spot for you, doesn't he?
"fuuck, this pussy's.. so good.." his eyes were half-lidded, moaning adorably before whining about the fact that he's about to spill a load inside you. "f-fuck, 'so good, please- mnnnnghh- aahh!~" his voice wavered, still driving his cock into you as he breaks through his limits and makes himself whimper gently, tears softening his eyes.
oh but his poor baby, creaming around his shaft so quickly and relentlessly, only to continue being rutted into like a little toy ♡. he coats your sweet little hole with his cum, flooding and painting it all over as his tip poured deep inside of you with a thick, milky warmth that pooled on the varnished wood.
you weren't even speaking anymore, your words melting on your tongue. he doesn't understand a damn thing you're saying but he doesn't need you to speak, he just needs you to feel good.
"fuck... uhhhnn!~.. fuck me, please, baby.." he blathers before he found himself whining at the way your cunt pulsates, eyes teasing at you subtly while he holds your cheeks together in his domineering hand. he doesn't even pull out much, just shoving and grinding his girth into your creamed-up cunny and making you endure the crushing pleasure. his hands scramble to push against the back of your thighs, folding them to let him fully fill up into your already deflowered, milky vulva.
"n-no, g'nna- leon!" your mind goes into total shudder as your back arched, having him hold your hips in place as you started to gush all over his stuffy girth.
"ohh, mhmm.. that's it, sweet girl.." leon knows you feel good, seeing you cry flusteredly while he still thrusted in you to lengthen the feeling of you cumming. he tore at your pride, pulling out the vulnerable version of yourself he hasn't seen in a long time. especially when you reach up for him like you wanted a hug. that did it for him.
he leans down to pick you up, your legs dangle tiredly around his waist. he's sorry to whoever's bed it was that he laid you down on. he whimpered softly into the fabric of your shoulder while trying to regain his stability. you could faintly feel him pepper tame, short kisses on it mindlessly.
he nuzzles into your skin. "you wanna be a good girl f'me?" he murmurs into your neck breathily.
"mhmm.."
"then get on your knees." leon lets go from holding you—letting you scramble onto all fours.
he stuffs himself back inside your sensitive hole like he's aching for it, making you wail with struggle. with your legs aimlessly sprawled on either side of him, he makes sure you don't stray from him by holding your hips again. the flesh spilling between his fingers as he pulls you closer like he's scared you'll run away. his hips move irrationally, wanting to make sure he's hitting it good, all the right spots again, just for his baby. he's so sensitive it starts to throb, masochistic urges as he overstimulates himself ceaselessly.
"hhhngh... you can't just.. come around- and then leave- like it's nothing!-" leon babbled whiningly between his forceful thrusts, his pace increasing with incessant speed. you could feel his fingers nimbly moving through your scalp, leon's hand holding the back of your head down onto the fluff surface where your cute little cries of pleasure went in vain.
you couldn't take it but leon made you, his constant rutting inside you even after cumming doesn't pause. he's suffocating this way but he doesn't even care. he's so loud behind you, fucking into your messy cunt like it hurts real good.
his attention is divulged slightly when he sees a little glow on the pocket of your shirt. how didn't he spot that? his hand snakes over your breast, fingertips swiftly snagging the high-tech vial and shoving it somewhere in his remaining clothing.
you yelped. ada was going to kill you. "h-hey!-" he notices you trying to look behind you but his hand is quicker, turning your head forwards with a gentle grip of his hand. he muffled your face into the sheets with the force of his hand holding your head, and he snaps his hips faster just to have you all adorable and crying for him again. "y'c-can't take tha-" oh, but what were you going to do about it?
he starts deliberately making up mistranslations of what you wanted to say. "mm, what's that, sweet girl? you want more?... oh, i know, baby, oh shh.. i got'chu, you're so good, huh? uhhuh.." he encouraged amidst fucking you back into a state of distraction, a hazy smile to himself while he considers his mission accomplished.

Doll Face | Fezco Euphoria
Tumblr media Tumblr media
part 1 part 2
Pairing: Fezco x Latina!Mouse sister! reader
Summary: Mouse's sister was an excellent girl, a good student even, until life happened and she had to leave every dream behind. A particular friend was left behind too in the process. Years later, they meet again, but they aren't the kids they once used to be.
Warnings: 1.8+ words, mouse sister, drug life, language, non-desired-sexual situations, forced sexual labor, exploitation of teenage girl, abuse, abusive household
a/n: Ok, Spanish is my first language and English second, so I apologize for any grammar mistakes. Second, I tried to research if Mouse was of any latin american origin, but I couldn't find any information. The actor is referred to as Lating King, so I'll use that as a reference. Thank you for reading! Hope you like it. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated <3
Tumblr media
It had always seemed funny to you. The reaction on people’s faces when they came to know whose sister you were. At first, you were proud, sort of. You knew your family didn’t dedicate themselves to an average 9-5 job pretty early. But that never stopped you from feeling happy by having them around you most of the time.
It was like a dream at first. You would come from school, and your mama would always be beside your papá, talking about something you were too young to understand thereupon. Your big brother was known to be in his room with his friends, and you weren't allowed inside.
That didn’t bother you. It never did because at the end of the day, you would all sit down to dinner together and it felt amazing having to see people gather random things to use as chairs because there were just too many people.
It all just seemed like a big diverse family. You loved it.
You were a straight-A little girl type, and papá always made sure to share with you that you would be the first of the family to ever go to college. You were going to become the pride of your family.
Teachers loved you and never had any problem when you asked for extra help. Even your classmates were always helpful and nice towards you, especially one guy that you had math class with.
Fezco
He was one of the nice weird kids. He didn’t talk with anyone much, but you like to believe you were his exception.
It all started due to you not noticing the exercises at the back of the page at that time, you were sitting in front of him, and he noticed this.
“Uhm, hey, sorry, but I think your page is kinda…blank” he drew your attention by tapping your shoulder softly.
“What do you mean?” you stared at him, confused.
“Well, yeah. The back side is blank.” he furrowed his eyebrows, trying to make you understand
“There was a backside!”
“There’s always a back part in math, little girl.”
“Shit- Sorry!” you covered your mouth, embarrassed.
“What are you sorry for?” he looked at you confused.
“I- well… I cursed. Ladies aren’t supposed to curse.”
“Why?”
“It’s unethical.”
“Huh,” he inhaled, “Well, the teacher is about to collect the homework, so if you want to copy from mine, go ahead.”
“You sure?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Ok, thank you so much, Fezco.”
“Call me Fez.”
“Fezco.”
“Alright.”
After that, it seemed like he had chosen you to be his partner in any class you had together. From that moment on, he would always whisper the answers in your ear, making sure you always had the same as his.
He would even grab your homework and correct your mistakes. It seemed so easy for him that you started to believe he was a genius.
“You are one smart mathematician,” you murmured once as you lay beside him on one of the school’s rooftops.
“A what?” he moved his head to the side, trying to get a glimpse of you.
“Mathematician, you will be a great one day.’
“Oh, what’s that?”
“Oh, you know…a person who likes and is good at math.”
“Hell yeah. I'll be one, doll face.”
“Fezco! No cursing.” you giggled.
“Oh, yeah. Sorry.”
You smiled, looking at each other barely, holding in your giggles.
And then everything went to shit.
“Mami! Papi! I’m home!” you entered your home with your cheeks painted and a big smile, hoping to see your parents in the living room, but only your brother was to be found with a bottle in hand.
“Hey, have you seen-”
“They ain't coming back home, little one.” he took one sip.
“What do you mean? They went on a field trip and didn’t take me?”
“Yeah. But more like they went to heaven.”
“Heaven? But that's a few hours away,” you tried, you really tried to be oblivious. Act stupid, “I read it on a map!”
“You can’t be that dumb,” he chuckled sourly, “Mom and pops are dead, and you know that.”
You stayed quiet. Looking at him and trying to keep your tears inside, hoping to be a cruel joke from your big brother.
“Now, I need you to understand something else,” he stood up, walking towards you, completely towering over you, “No more school for you.”
“What?” you whispered.
“I don’t need some governmental shit to be put inside your brain when you could be doing something more beneficial for me, us.”
“But I don’t wanna leave school,” you whined sweetly, “Papi said I would go to college!”
“Pops said it, not me,” he grabbed you from your low ponytail without pulling, twisting it around his fingers. “You’r ‘bout to learn about the family business, little sissy.”
And just like that, your life went spiraling into a deep pile of shit and more shit.
It started simple, nothing too hardcore. You prepared his pre-rolled, and he said your petite fingers were perfect for the job. Then, you started addressing him as “Mouse” since he has some respect to show or something along the lines.
And you did that for quite a long time, being grateful to keep some sort of young teen childhood innocence. Until one of his friends mentioned something about your changing body.
“Yo! Mouse! Your sister si que tiene unas lindas tetas eh! ¿A cuanto por una sobada?” they all laughed, but you knew your brother had a realization. (Your sister has a nice pair of tits, how much for a touch?)
His little sissy wasn't so little anymore. And lucky you, the neighborhood home strip club was taking applications, and they loved young girls.
“Pero mira que lindo lugar te conseguí hermanita, ¿a que no?" he laughed, licking his lips at the sight of the bare chest and intimate parts by the women dancing or waitress. (Look what a nice place I got you lil’ sissy, pretty isn't it?)
“I don’t want to be here, Mouse,” you said with a scared tone, “I don’t feel comfortable.”
“What you mean!?”
“I want to leave now, Mouse,” you said, trying to sound stern and covering your eyes to bring the different color neon lights.
If you had not, you would have seen him before he pulled you by your hair.
“Mouse!”
“Shut your fucking mouth and listen!” he spoke in your ear, spitting saliva, “You ain't eating nor coming home hasta que me traigas minimo mil, got it?” you nodded. (until you bring me at least a thousand)
“But how am I going to get you that?”
“Well, why else would I bring you here!? You got the place and a job start dancing!”
You looked at all sides, looking for some type of explanation or help, but all you could notice were a few pity looks from the women already working there.
“But…I am just fifteen, and I do not have any clothes like those,” you tried hard to convince him to take you away from there.
“C’mon I was thirteen when I banged my first chick, besides you got underwear underneath that, right?”
You nodded, unsure.
“Then don’t come back until you have that money in hand we clear.”
“Como el agua,” you murmured (like the water)
It took you some time to gather the money. It took you long enough to gather the courage to walk out of the dressing room in your underwear. Thankfully, some women there pitied you and gave you some money so you didn't have to socialize too much with the customers.
That day you became aware of how disgusting looks from men and women could be. But you became happy when at the end of the third day, the money had been collected. Until you were about to leave, the place and the owner took half of your money.
That’s when you knew that they take half of the tips, more if you get opinionated about it.
You had to work for it, they said. To start showing some more for some extra bills. To hide it somewhere, they won't see it.
Took you some time, but you felt elated when you knocked on that worn-down door you loved.
“Here’s the money,” you placed it in his hand with a smile, and he threw 100 back at you.
“Go get some work clothes and your food for a month.”
“What?”
“How old are you?”
“Fifteen”
“At seventeen, you start paying rent.”
Then, you were his investment. His friends and co-workers wanted to see you dance. They wanted to see you shake your chest and back for them. They wanted to touch you. And if you objected? A dislocated shoulder, 3 broken ribs, and black-eyed followed you for a month, and you objected…a lot.
But you learned how to handle it. You had to and became a pro. The favorite one in the club, and the best one of Mouse’s girls, even if you had to do some things you despised.
At least you were treated better.
And then, you saw him.
You were at home, doing some dances for Mouse’s people along with two other girls.
You had numbed yourself and your emotions. You had created an alter ego and a safe place in your mind where you could wander off whenever you were working. Funny enough, you had come to like dancing with a pole. You found it artistic, just not the other things it came with.
You were concentrated on grinding on top of the man beneath you, concentrated in your safe place. Ignoring his wandering hands beneath your work clothes, his groping. But some voices distracted you. You switched positions so you could stare at the men coming in.
It was a redhead, and he seemed…cute.
You could hear them going and on about quantities and deadlines, and you better pay me up before blah, blah, and more blah.
“You know what, I liked you, carrot boy,” Mouse smiled, rubbing his palms against each other, “Let me gift you with one of my best girls. Sweetcheecks, com’ere!”
“She’s busy, my man,” said the man underneath, simulating pounding into you while you kept grinding him with him groping your chest.
“Not‘nymore, fuck off,” he grabbed him by the arm and pulled the redhead to your seat, “Treat him good, will ya?”
You nodded and started doing your job. It was actually easy to please a man. Just some elaborate touching and grinding, especially grinding, and to let them touch whenever and wherever.
You could feel him looking at you, his eyes locked. Almost making you feel embarrassed by what you were doing. He seemed like the gentle type. He even kept his hands to himself. You could be wrong, and when you felt his hand grabbing you by your neck and taking you near his lips. You knew you were wrong. He needed some time before he felt full of himself and started groping you like the others.
“Doll face, is that you?”
part 2? Let me know...

As a marine biology major, the idea that humanity as a whole needs to stop eating meat specifically because “it’s cruel” confuses me, especially since the people who push it almost always are also very vocal about the (very true) fact that nonhuman animals are not inferior to humans, and that humans are animals themselves.
Badgers eat birds. Bears eat fish. Like them, humans are omnivores, so why is it okay for them to eat meat, but not us?
The answer I usually get is something along the lines of “Because we know better.”
And they don’t? It’s an odd thing for someone who supposedly believes that human’s aren’t superior to animals to say.
Believing that is is unethical for humans to consume meat as other animals do perpetuates the industrialist idea that humans are somehow inherently separate from nature. We are not exempt from the food web, just as we are not exempt from the ecosystem as a whole.
If you are uncomfortable with eating meat because it makes you think of death that’s fine, understandable even. But the idea that no human should eat meat ever because we’re somehow better than them is ridiculous.
This does not absolve the meat industry of the environmental damage and animal cruelty they’ve been participating in for decades, of course. If you don’t eat animal products because you want to minimize the damage that’s fine, and your intentions are good.
However you should keep in mind that just because a food product isn’t an animal product doesn’t mean it’s ethically sourced. The agricultural industry, while arguably less bad than the meat industry, is by no means guiltless; it can and does exploit people, and it also damages the environment, including animals (see the bats and agave situation people have been talking about recently). I also think you should keep in mind that there are animal products produced outside the meat industry, though they aren’t all that easy to access (farmers markets, hobbyists, small farms, etc).
There’s nothing wrong with veganism, but it’s not inherently more ethical or less damaging to the environment. The type of food you eat has little impact on those fronts, what matters is how it was produced.

Bye, I guess
Hi folks: I’ve enjoyed my time on tumblr while it lasted. Unfortunately, the new dashboard makes the site so unpleasant to use that I’m afraid that enjoyment (and thus my use of the site) has come to an end. I still have some reblogs queued up, and I may pop in now and then, but don’t expect me to be around much anymore.
For the record, here is the support request I put in yesterday:
Why is my dashboard now twitter. This format sucks. It's always sucked. It feels absolutely horrible to use on desktop (which I do exclusively and that will not change). This horrible ui is a big part of why didn't really use twitter (it sucked then to).
Here is tumblr’s answer:
Hello,  Thanks for reaching out to Tumblr Community Support and sharing your thoughts on the new dashboard layout. We often test new ways to make Tumblr better. It sounds like your account may have been selected to experience a test of one of these improvements. Thanks for your patience while we work on this! You may see your Tumblr experience return to normal as we continue testing.  Kind regards,  Chris
(Please note, this appears to be a copy-paste form response. You can see another example of it here.)
Here was my response:
Hi Chris! I "may" not see my Tumblr user return to normal, because I'm not returning to Tumblr until it is reasonably usable again for me. This "experiment" is effectively an update that has made the site so unpleasant for me to use that I will not be doing so. What will tumblr being doing to allow me to use the site? I do not appreciate being told that my support ticket is "sharing [my] thoughts on the new dashboard layout." I neither asked or appreciate being selected taking part, without my knowledge or consent, in an experiment to allow a company to do product development. My ticket is not my "thoughts on the new dashboard layout." It is my report that the site is effectively not usuable. Furthermore, while not illegal, human experimentation is generally considered unethical without proper consent and review process. If my dash returns to a status that I can use: 1) What guarantees do I have that tumblr will not experiment on me again?  2) What other experiments does tumblr think it is ethical to do on me without proper consent? Kind regards to Chris, and explicitly not to your employer.
24 hours later, I have not received a follow up response.
I was originally going to write a lot more about why I think this is such an atrocious set of moves and responses by tumblr, but I realized that being on the site long enough to format and post it (I’m doing this writing on my desktop) would be too unpleasant to make it worthwhile.
Instead, I want to make two quick notes about traps I see people falling in to:
1) Tumblr is not your friend. It is a company that wants to use you to extrude profit. This hold true regardless of whether it is shaped like a shareholder’s report, a formal staff post, or a blog that looks just like a user like you. Regardless of its form, it is no more your friend than the “intern” who runs a corporate brand account.
2) It is fine to pay money for a product you enjoy. This product might be a digital sticker or a minigame on a website, or some form of subscription to the site itself. However, if you are not enjoying a product, or if you feel that the product is bad or exploitative, you have no obligation to invest in it. And you should be particularly wary when a for-profit business is attempting to make you, as a customer, feel emotionally and personally invested in supporting that business (whether that be in terms of time, energy, or money).
Anyway, I’m still hoping that I will be able to unpin this post at some point, but for the foreseeable future: bye!

Milk Boy AU post lab whump thoughts
CW: dehumanization, carewhumper exploiting whumpee, dehumanized whumpee further dehumanized by society, mobster caretaker, immoral caretaker, immoral whumpee, test subject whumpee, forced institutionalization, forced corrective surgery
after nineteen years of being in operation, the milk lab is finally put under investigation, determined to be extremely unethical and in violation of multiple laws, and is shut down. David is one of the many employees to be imprisoned, facing a life sentence for the atrocities that he took part in.
which leaves Logan, the lab's loyal milk boy, with nothing.
the government attempts to put Logan in a mental hospital, but nobody knows how to deal with something like this. half of them aren't even sure if Logan is a person, since he looks like...that.
against his will (though it's really just his conditioning), Logan is forced to undergo corrective surgery that removes the extra pair of breasts and milk-producing glands in his organs. aside from some surgery scars, he looks...normal. like every other human.
but he feels nothing like one. nineteen years of being a test subject, of having only one purpose, and Logan has no idea how to be a person. and now that he can no longer fulfil his purpose, why is he even still alive? does his 'family' plan on rescuing him from these awful people telling him how fucked up he is? is this all just a test?
the other residents are freaked out by him, don't know how to treat him. the staff feels sorry for him, but at a loss of how to help. Logan becomes increasingly volatile and violent, to a point where he needs to be kept restrained and sedated for most of the time. most of the staff deems him beyond help, wondering if it would be more merciful to just end him.
Dr. Cassius Helven is called in. as an expert on severe trauma and abnormal psychology, Cassius is granted by the government to take Logan home with him and conduct his treatment there. unlike the mental hospital, Cassius coaxes Logan in with familiarity; treating him like a pet, giving him a schedule, letting Logan fall into a routine without having to interact with others or 'be a person'.
Cassius makes a huge amount of progress with Logan. he teaches Logan basic reading and writing, important life skills, things that will help foster his independence. he encourages Logan's curiosity, lets him explore the world and realize that it's so, so much more than the lab he called home. he helps Logan want to become a person.
because Logan is Cassius' success story.
the fame and fortune that Cassius amasses is extraordinary, and why wouldn't it be? Logan is an entirely unique case study, given what he went through. whereas others failed with him, Cassius succeeded, making an excellent reputation for himself and his career. it thrust Logan into the spotlight as well -- not as the genius who figured out how to treat a former test subject, but as the pitiful test subject. even when Logan wants to be a person now, society refuses to see him as such. he'll always just be the milk boy. the 'human cow'. the freak.
Logan wants to move out of Cassius' home, wants to get away from the media. but how can he? Cassius has done so much for him, and he reminds Logan of that whenever he wants to say no to him, for anything. it's a new form of cruelty for Logan; learning how to say no, and then not being able to.
inevitably, public opinion splits. now there are people saying that Logan should be freed, not kept as a case study, as a spectacle. and there's a significant number of people with significant connections who are backing the Liberate Logan movement.
Cassius tries moving homes, tries keeping Logan hidden, but it's his own teachings that do him in. while showing Logan how to use electronics, Logan discovered he has a passion for them, and had been studying them intensely. he finds a way to bypass the controls Cassius put on his computer and get onto the internet, where he reveals the address of Cassius' new home.
the protesters move in. they stand outside during the day with their signs and chants, getting plenty of media coverage and annoying Cassius. but at night, things escalate. someone throws a brick at one of the windows. a mob breaks out. a whole swarm of people with their own reasons, all uniting under one cause. stop Cassius.
Logan escapes in the chaos. Cassius suffers a few minor injuries, but nothing more. it's the protesters that get brutalized the most.
Logan has nowhere to go. for all that he's learned, he has no idea how to live on his own, still struggles to take care of himself. everything is hard, and painful, and overwhelming. his bare feet hurt on the sidewalk. he shivers from the cold. he misses Cassius' bed.
he ends up curled up in an alley, drifting off from exhaustion, when a gunshot startles him. Logan isn't quite sure what the sound is. but when a man comes walking down the alley, blood splattered on his face and clothes, Logan recognizes the blood. it's obviously not coming from the man, it's someone else's.
but of course, being raised how he was, violence and murder don't phase Logan one bit. as the man soon realizes when he sees Logan there, staring up at him curiously. he recognizes Logan from the press; impossible not to when he's the media's favorite topic.
it's unprofessional and dangerous to leave witnesses. but Derek really doesn't want to kill the poor thing. he asks Logan if he's lost and Logan says no, he doesn't want to be with Cassius anymore. Derek asks if he has anywhere to go. Logan says no; he was hoping to find an unpopulated area, somewhere with no humans. he's starting to realize that his 'family' was right; he's not human at all. Logan doesn't think he likes humans very much.
Derek agrees. he also doesn't like humans very much, and reassures Logan that he isn't one. Logan is confused, asks what Derek is then.
"A monster," Derek says with a smile. "Or so I've been told."
monster. that's a new word for Logan. he's heard people call Cassius one, but Cassius insists that they're lying. that's good. he wouldn't trust Derek if Cassius was a monster too.
"I don't know if I'm a monster," Logan says. "They call me a freak."
"Hmm. That's a different type of monster."
"Oh. What type are you?"
and really, this seems like the best solution to Derek. no witnesses. the young man clearly doesn't know right from wrong, and if Derek takes him in and hides him from the media, nobody will be able to question him. hell, he could fake Logan's death just to make sure nobody goes looking for him.
so it makes all the sense in the world to ask:
"Would you like to find out?"

every time i see a post that says something along the lines of "[animal] farming, when done right-" i stop reading. animal farming can never be done right. it is always unethical to murder an innocent animal that doesnt want to die so you can enjoy its flesh.
some of these people bring up arguments against capitalism but support animal farming. do you seriously think the world can support animal farming in a non capitalist way? it would be so much easier to just eat plants than to live in a fantasy world where animals arent exploited and treated "ethically" before you eat them.

i saw the new video of LO "shock has lost it's value" so you don't have to
because LO claims that other people have covered up the topic of both Postals and Hatred better than her (with a cheeky recognition that she has plagiarized so many people before, but she's self aware so you aren't allowed to bring it up i guess), so the entire video is actually going to be about the coffin of andy and leyley with a small section of the other two. it's not because she wanted to talk about the incest videogame more than anything else. of course no. she was forced to do it because she just prefers to refer to the people who did a better job than her before.
indeed, no other intentionally offensive games has ever appeared since Postal and Hatred. there has been 0 cases until the incest game. if you know anything about the indie game scene, you already know how offensively ignorant this is.
LO calls the incest game a visual novel. it's not. it's literally categorized like an RPG game because it was made on an engine for RPG games. you can literally see that on the steam page that she keeps flashing on the screen. is this a small issue? absolutely. but it bothers me all the same because LO's the one who decides to talk about this game. is really too much of a burden to just know what genre is the game you're talking about? how i'm supposed to believe you when you talk as an authority about this game?
LO still tries to treat cannibalism as a the worst taboo ever, over incest... and i honestly don't know what is even the point? i know that for LO there's really nothing wrong about incest, but are you really helping your case by trying to say "at least it isn't cannibalism, that's worse"? normal people don't do this, LO.
the jabs at the artstyle by saying "this is a conglomeration of every edgy teen girl" really bother me because at least this is a creative work. at least this the work of an artist that they made with their own hands, instead of exploiting a spouse with no paid only to receive subpar art where anatomy and colors go to die. it's also just a girl with messy hair and black clothing...? besides the messy hair, that's you, LO. you keep putting your characters in muddy dark clothing because that's what you always have. it's just unnecesary.
when LO makes a comment about how weird is that these two siblings share a bedroom in a crummy small apartment, she flashes three novels with incest themes on them: forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, flawed by Kate Avelyn and flowers in the attic by V.C. Andrews, that we all have established before LO either didn't read at all or didn't understood at all. before finishing this video she talked about writing "the goth version of flowers in the attic". flowers in the attick is already gothic literature. goth is a music genre, not a literary one. i won't let that go because it reminds me how deeply and proudly ignorant this woman is, and still has the gall to pat herself in the back for it.
all the "alabama" jokes are so tiring and boring. even more boring because LO is canadian and therefore completely disconnected from the culture that made those jokes, so you know the only reason she's making them at all is because she saw americans doing it.
a little rant about how you can't diagnose a character or youtubers with mental health disorders because people have been sued with defamations suits over it. i agree that you can't diagnose real people, that is unethical. however leyley is a fictional character. we can talk about how kids can't be diagnosed with personality disorder or how she doesn't really fit the criteria for this or that mental illness, but it's not and will never be the same to try to diagnose her as to do it to a real human being.
there's a part where LO says that the story of the incest game doesn't face her by showing a panel of pokemadhouse where... i assume Lizzy? is yelling insults to CLO through the phone while CMO asks "who's talking to you like that? that isn't your ex, is it?" and because it's just that one panel, i imagine that it is. so the implication would be that LO doesn't care about the cannibalism or the implications of incesy (shocking, right?), but the moment in which the siblings are mean to each other and insult one another, that's when she can't take it because she had ex that yelled insults to her.... i guess. idk.
"kill your abusers, Andrew, it's good for you." unless they have children just at the right age as your sibling when you first started molesting them all those years ago. then forgive your abusers, Andrew. silence their victims too, just so you have a chance at a new incestuous love.
reference to the folgers incest add. not even chuckled.
these are the reason why someone would want to kill leyley
Tumblr media
replace brother with younger sibling and you got it, some classic LO projection. but you're still entirely wrong on one thing, LO. nobody wants to kill you and you know that too. just admit that you're a incestuous abuser that needs high, minor, medium large and extensive actual real therapy.
13. LO remarking on how weird the game treating the two siblings arguing as "lovers spat" is so weird because she's the one who treated Courtney calling her out as a bitter ex. even down to keep talking bad about the ex of Courtney that he had when abandoning their parent's house, calling him an "actual pedophile" despite their age gap being just two years.
14. so she knows how weird it is to keep talking about her sibling in sexual context. she knows how bad it is to make jokes about Courtney being raped. she knows how obssesive and toxic she has been since Courtney spoke out... and she still does it. proudly. i know i'm saying nothing new here, but LO is a really bad person. not because she does bad things without knowing, but because she does them knowing.
15. LO is relating the story of the game completely skipping the part in which you can have the siblings... not commit any incest at all. yes, the weird implication were there from the start, but weird implications aren't actual incest regardless of how uncomfortable they can make individual people. you have to actually go out of your way to reach that path. she's presenting it as if this was a clear linear story path and it's not, and i have a suspicion that is the point of the game that LO is completely missing. that these two are horrible toxic characters, but ultimately they still have a choice on how their relationship can become and you as a player can get them there or not. because one thing she didn't mention either is that this story is devided in chapters and there's still others coming, so this is an incomplete story. i'm not the dev or anything like that, but if i have to guess anything about the plot my idea is that this whole story can only end in tragedy and probably neither of the siblings will survive. it's your choice as a player if that end includes actually touching your sibling or not. i guess we all know which ending LO would prefer. but it still bothers me because there's a reason why the dev made it a choice at all instead of just a inevitable part of the story. there's a reason why you can skip that and i won't claim to know what is that reason, but ignore that just so you can posture is still so gross for me.
16. "the artstyle of a potterhead that watched Black Butler"????????????? what does this even mean???? plus. LO, do you really want to play that game? do you really want to keep bashing people with anime inspired artstyles when pokemadhouse is literally just that + your own terrible ideas of what "correct proportions" is supposed to be? do you think i haven't noticed that it has been a while since you displayed your avatar in any of your videos? the one that was made for free by your wife and everyone called out as being clearly anime inspired? were you tired of being calling you out the obvious hypocrisy everytime you made those "jokes" or did you get tired of pretend like you liked it in the first place?
17. "i have seen more shocking content". i know. you were the one who brought rape lay and a game about touching the bodies of underaged characters in your video about SVTFOE. i didn't even know about the last one until i reverse searched the image you put out. and yet, you still couldn't think of bringing any other example of "shocking content" to clickbait people with on the thumbnail that two games that people stopped talking about years ago. more than that... what do you think you're doing insisting "this doesn't shock me" with this game? has it ever occured to you that it's main goal is not to shock you? has that ever being declared as being the main goal on any of this? did it never occured to you that the author has a story to tell? even while giving your summary of the whole game to pad the run time and trick people into thinking you have anything to say (seriously, the summary alone is almost half of this video lol). this is exactly like when you insisted that Disney was to blame for creating "romantic chemistry" between Anna and Elsa, but then had the audacity to say that the fandom was the one who was gross while the movie itself was "lovely" (even though you believed it to have "accidental" incest so... you were the one saying a story about incestuous sister was lovely. what a surprise.) the thing is, it's not making you look tough, clever or even "knowledgeable" to say "see this narrative about toxic siblings who cannabilize people doesn't shock". the knowledgeable is already shot with how very little do you know the indie game scene, or the gaming community in general, that you can only think of three games in decades who have shocking content. insisting that this story only looks to shock people and you weren't shocked doesn't say anything about the story itself. it just tells me how boring you're that you believe it makes you interesting you saw more "shocking" content before. 18. "by the way my askbox was filled about this game i expected more." oh. you're not going to say why people started to bring out to you the game that became infamous because of the incest? you're not going to even try to mention how or why incest media just coincidentally, totally against your will, keeps appearing around you? i guess we're also going to ignore how those "hundreds" of ask were... three or four asks that all write and type exactly the same as you. one of them coming from one of your own know sockpuppet accounts. 19. "this game promotes itself as one thing and turns out that is about another." sounds similar to promoting a webcoming as a "slice of lice about a pokemon trainer living in her home with wacky characters", but then you just had to add child molestation with mind altering consequences, quasi incest and rampant abuse apologia of actual immoral monsters. at least the incest game is honest about it being horror. it doesn't try to sell itself as a "wholesome" story about anything, like someone i know.
20. now that i think about it, she only complains about the artstyle when she has Ashley on inscreen. she doesn't say anything about Andrew despite being the same artstyle? she keeps making jabs at how ashley is "not like other girls", about how she thinks she's "quirky" and it's just weird to me that she only does that for her, but nobody else in the game. 21. LO does really goes into a very long diatribe about the kind of mindset that Ashley has, about how the puzzles are actually great, about how it explores the psychology of these characters... and still keeps insisting that there's nothing else about the game. the math isn't mathing. does it have any depth or it doesn't? also that constant "why the rest of the game couldn't be like this".... because the puzzles wouldn't have any meaning at all without the story? isn't that an obvious enough response? 22. "the easiest path to get past incestuous attractiong is being willing to do so." oh. and i guess you're the expert on that one, LO. do you actually not understand how alarming those phrases come off? nobody normal talks like this, LO, i'm sorry i have to be the one to tell you. nobody talks like having incestuous attraction is just as common as having general trauma. not even Courtney does that and you're the one who claims that he's obsessed with you! pity you clearly still haven't moved past that or you'd stop publishing rape jokes about your sister. 23. "this is a game about two awful people and we see them get worse." yes. that is a compelling narrative for people. if nothing else, for the watching a trainwreck effect. some people want to see the world burn in a safe environment where nobody actually gets hurt, as in fiction. it might not be interesting for you (who has more an issue about them being mean and snapping to each other than to them being incestuous mutually, btw), but that is something people find interesting. sometimes people like different things and you don't liking them doesn't mean anything about the quality of the thing. kids in fifth grade understand this already. 24. LO said that Ashley is made of a bunch of anime tropes and Pearl is actually the better version of those tropes. i'm just going to leave that out there and the world can decide what to do with it.
25. "i missed this part of the footage and i had to stole it, i'm not playing that again". wait, who did you steal it from? did you asked permission at least? i don't see any credit or anything. if you use gameplay footage from someone else, yes, it's the bare minimum type of courtesy ask for permission and then credit them. this is the same thing when you use fanart of people who didn't made for you. that's still the work of someone else. LO just flat out admitted that she stole footage from someone else.
26. LO boldly claim that the writing of the game is wrong because Ashley is the main character and she doesn't have a lot of deph... while at the same time saying that Andrew (the one who... also appears in the title of the game?) has. LO still doesn't understand the concept of co-protagonist, does she?
27. then it follows a long diatribe about a movie about some guy and a girl who go in a rampage because American Idol. i didn't pick up the name but... good on LO for finally referencing something else that isn't SU or Star Wars.
still too long and she just gets lost on her sauce so much that i don't even know what is her point anymore. 28. just about in general... it's rich how LO says that Ashley being a violent person or the man on that movie being violent makes them pathetic and boring, when she was the one who claimed she kicked a online stalker in front of her building and stabbed some MAGA guy in the streets. not to mention the woman who adviced to children that they should bash the heads of their bullies with the heaviest object they can find. i don't even disagree that people who take pride in being unhinged violent dangerous peoeple are not that interesting as they thing themselves to be. but LO's very much one of those people. that's why she keeps writing her "obviously heroic" OC starwars killing people left and right without facing any consequences.
29. "amab siblings being abused by afab sibling is not a story that is often taken seriously, and believe me i know that from personal experience." said the woman who bragged for years about beating the shit out of her younger sibling and leaving them crying on the floor after punching them in the gut 15 times. again, your only real concrete examples of Courtney "abusing you" is: burned your pokemon cards when kids and didn't want to play with you. that's what you publicly and openly have claimed as examples of Courtney being abusive to you. you yourself haven't really bothered to explain anymore of this "abuse". can you really blame people when they doubt that claim? especially when you have been cuaght in so many other lies before? no, LO, the reason people believe Courtney over you is not because you're amab and he's afab. it's because you have done nothing else but give out red flags since you first became online and keep giving out more everytime you even talk about Courtney. Courtney's story fits you like a glove. yours look like trying to put a glove into a foot.
(just like your story of claiming to have survived cancer last year, btw) 30. "the people who like this game think they're on the outside, but there's nothing more inside than someone selling what you like in retail"... is LO actually comparing an indie game, made in RPG maker, by a solo person, with mainstream gaming? if she is, that is an insult to the intelligence of everyone who had to hear it and i feel like i lost braincells for it. it's so utterly and obviously wrong that i'm actually speechless. this is like comparing Ib, another RPG maker games that people adored and has a cult classic, with Final Fantasy or even Mario. the indie scene is miles different than the mainstream gaming scene. i can't believe this is something i have even to say.
31. "it has never been an easier time to become a publisher author or an indie developer for that matter." indeed. because there's an indie scene for it. because people can selfpublish. and neither of those people has the same mass appeal, power or influence as mainstream media that is back up by an actual company. LO acts as if the fact people can make money out of their creations that puts them on the same level as professionals who're hired to do those jobs. no, LO. when you were creating those boring RPG games in which you gave people NSFW works of ponies as a reward for breaking the minds of character, you weren't a dev on the same value as the guy who made the games you liked. you were just a boring adult with a porn addiction and some minor knowledge of coding. nothing else. 32. "the only way to make a dark story effective is when you make it in earnest, when you have the characters happy to do it but you know it's the worst thing to them" wait. wait. wait. is this LO saying that the only issue that she has with the incest game... is that it's not more open and gleeful about the incest? i think that's what she's saying. i actually don't know what other conclusion i'm supposed to take from it. when she talks about the game showing the post incest scene, she goes "finally! we can stop dancing around this like we did the last four hours." so the issue is not the incest, it's that the people involved aren't joyful and happy about it. it's that the incest isn't more cover and came sooner.
like in Frozen. my earlier point was right then. her only real issue is that the siblings are mean to each other, not that they could fuck each other. i guess i'm not really surprised out of the woman who called the incestuous relationships "the purest form of love that there can be." this is exactly what i mean when i say that Courtney's story fits you. because only someone who only views incest as positive would say something like that and let that be their conclusion about the incest game. 33. this is a personal nitpick, but i especially do not like how LO insist that you can't make horror out of a tragedy. just say that you never read horror or even understand what horror is. almost the entire filmography of Mike Flanagan is horror that is about familial tragedy at it's core: the tragedy of losing family, the tragedy of chosing power over love, the tragedy of trauma, the tragedy of religion, etc, etc. tragedy is at the core of many beautiful works of horror. hereditary is about a cult interferring with a family, but also it's about grief, generational trauma and the tragedy of these character being destroyed by it all. 34. the conclusion is officially just salad words about how anime is bad, how animation that is "dark and mature" is bad, how everyone is wrong about everything and she's always right. something about jeffrey dahmer, the series and the people talking about it was disrespectful to the victims and their families... i don't know why. to try to say again smugly "this isn't shocking, this is just bad"? i do find funny how she spend at least 10 minutes of this video total saying "this doesn't shock me, this is boring to me, i have seen more shocking stuff", while she ends up saying about how the people who claim were not affected by the jeffrey dahmer show and wanted more gore are pathetic losers. she just keeps describing herself and insulting herself alone. nobody cares that incest doesn't shock you, LO. we know that already, it's part of the allegations. you're not helping your case confirming that we're right.
35. so in the minute 43: 54 flashes this screenshot:
Tumblr media
for the record i censored the user. LO didn't. LO openly just published this screenshot from a random user and claim that they're lying about being a incest survivor. LO just grabbed a innocent person who never interacted with her, who never said a word about her, exposed their name for her entire audience to go find and harass and she just erased whatever trauma this person could be dealing with. again, LO doesn't know this person. the only post of them that LO could have seen is this one. and this one is enough to convince LO that they're lying about their trauma only to get a pass for shipping two characters. this is despicable behavior. if i have to convince you of how this bad it is, then i can't help you, because i think it should be plenty of an explanation.
i'm not going to bother with the rest. i'm done. this was a waste of time and a disgusting one at that only used to keep making her little pity part about Courtney for having the gall of not being happily incet with her. don't watch the video directly from her, download it with any of the link on my pin or any other method. don't go search that user. don't bother anyone LO mentioned.

"i hate capitalism" vs my favourite game star stable having their owners and management taking out lots of money while running the company into the ground due to carelessness and bad planning and not giving a shit about the largely little girl audience they take their money from (a/b pricing. stable care and login punishment. bad quality game with tons of bugs always. changing the story ppl were invested in. SUPPORT EMAILS THAT TELL PPL THEY WONT GET REFUNDED FOR BUGS/MISLEADING INFO. SUPPORT EMAILS THAT SAY LOL IDC TO ANTISEMITISM)
its really time to understand what hating capitalism and recognising exploitative and unethical behaviour from companies means in reality and not just in words. even when its your favourite ah slay feminism queer game studio (the one run by random men who clearly dont care about the game or the players, the one that cancelled the books and comics without telling anyone, the one that said horsegirl is a slur, that one)

i genuinely feel like it’s impossible to be an ethical person without sacrificing pretty much everything which gives me any joy
i went vegan, but now i just keep seeing how i fall short in so many other ways. it seems like everything i previously enjoyed has to be boycotted. everything is problematic in some way.
I don't feel like 'ethical' is a thing anyone actually just achieves and becomes 'an ethical person' one day by being nice enough and boycotting enough companies; it's something we have to strive for. I agree with Aristotle that virtue is a skill, it's not something you just are, it's something you have to constantly practice and that won't always be easy. That is made all the more difficult by capitalism.
Whatever you want to buy that will give you joy that you know is harmful, consider whether there is a more ethical version. Can you buy it second hand? Is there a more ethical company selling the same thing? Can you replace it with something else? You can't deny yourself every pleasure, but if something that brings you joy is inherently harmful you can choose to examine whether or not you actually need it to feel happy, and if you really do, how you can mitigate at least some of that harm. It's about choosing your battles.
I can't not eat any vegetables or grains without a severe health impact for example, and I can't afford to buy everything locally and I can't grow it all myself, so I buy it from the supermarket, knowing that much of it will have been farmed in environmentally destructive ways using unfair labour practices. People who aren't even trying will bring that up as a reason why veganism isn't ethical, but it's a lot better than consuming that unethical produce alongside animal products, which require even more of that exact produce.
I can't be completely cruelty free but I can relatively easily boycott animal products, and I can pay for the extra 15% on coffee, chocolate and bananas to buy Fair Trade. There is just about no smartphone or computer that does what I need it to do that is also ethical, but I can buy them refurbished instead of new. I can boycott particularly harmful companies, while knowing that what I replace their products with won't be ethically perfect either - just better. None of these are hugely commendable acts or difficult sacrifices, but it all helps.
Being vegan does not make you a good person, it's just one stance on one particular issue, which is the exploitation of animals. I oppose exploiting animals and refusing to purchase products which engage in that exploitation is accessible to me, and so I do it. It's that simple. Plenty of my other purchases aren't ethical and neither will yours be, because a lifestyle free from any and all harm is not possible under capitalism.
So long as you're doing your best that's really all anyone can expect. We're going to pass through this world just once, so we should enjoy it while trying to leave our small corner of it a little better off than it was before we got there. Being kind to one another and living a good life may not always be easy, but its also not some great burden that robs you of any joy. It is the entire point of living.

I was just wondering what's so unethical about cashews? I've never heard of them being unethical before
the labor is usually done by exploited workers or slaves in unsafe conditions. The actual plant itself causes painful irritation to the skin to harvest the nut. Imagine harvesting fruit from poison ivy, it’s similar to that. The demand for cashews abroad as a snack item generally decreases the quality of life for workers harvesting the nuts as it applies a time crunch and quota to fulfill. You can obtain cashews ethically, but you’ll be harder pressed to find them from a supplier that isn’t putting profits over workers. Though you certainly could grow cashews in several parts of the US, almost all cashews you see on the shelves here are imported from countries with less legislation protecting rights of workers, most commonly countries that were at some point victims of western imperialism custom tailored to make human rights violations easy to commit and hard to fight against. That isn’t a coincidence. Obviously no that isn’t something done for cashews specifically, but it is indeed something done to ensure cheap labor would always be available whilst western countries could sate the masses with various protections from overt exploitation.
That was a tangent, but my point is that almost all the cashews you see at the store in western countries will have been made at the expense of people who were underpaid and not given proper ppe, or just slaves. They can be harvested ethically, but they currently are not.

ive been trying to think of a way to say this correctly and i cant seem to get it quite right, so i will just throw it out there
i think social media has done a lot of damage to the way we view animals and more specifically, wildlife. i also think that the way this damage has been done has shifted over time in a way that people detect less frequently, and therefore it's a lot less understood and a lot more well-spread
outright exploitation of wildlife has always been a media staple. you see your typical tiger king content, or photoshoots with clearly sedated/restrained animals, or tourist traps with questionable conditions. i think that there has been more focus on this in the last decade or so, and people are much more likely to see this as a negative than they ever were to have frequently.
my main concern is now the shift to exploitation that isn't as transparent (and i want to be clear here for a minute that i am using exploitation as an umbrella term for a wide variety of different actions, and not necessarily assuming consciousness malicious intent behind it)
there is a wave of online influencers who focus on education and showcasing the natural world to a range of audiences. a lot of the time, these are people who are well-spoken, passionate and often have at least one degree or another in a related field to their content. they amass loyal followers because people love to see what they believe to be ethical and educational content on cool animals (especially ones they may not ever get to see in their life). and this is cool! i totally get that urge! i think the increase in public interest towards different and diverse species is so cool and something that really needs to be stoked
but a lot of these influencers concern me. on the surface, they seem to be reasonable educators. and then you begin to notice that actually, they are interacting with wild animals a lot. they are touching wild animals a lot. they are unnecessarily handling. they are chasing down random animals with cameras and mics.
and it's very hard to criticise these actions. because i have often began to notice that when criticised (or sometimes even questioned) these people will put out videos about their "haters" and how they really do love the animals they're working with and how unfair this "attack" is.
i really encourage people to have a good think before they follow wildlife educators. even if they seem really reputable or knowledge - i've personally known people with very high qualifications who have behaved in ways that are considered unethical in their own communities. look at their content and see how often they're unnecessarily interfering and interrupting. when they are interrupting, see if you can find if they've made note why that action was necessary.
it's always sad to see people with genuine interest, passion and curiosity being misled. you deserve content that is going to inform you about new and wonderful things without being neglient towards the creatures you're interested in!

If you care about art and artists at all, PLEASE sign this petition calling for the regulation of AI generated “work”. These generators exploit us and are built on our backs while we desperately scream no, all so tech bros and corporations can give our jobs to machines that were trained by stealing our work to feed it into a database we never wanted to be part of.
The things called for in this petition are basic and only the beginning, but they’re important first steps in keeping human artists safe. PLEASE help us.
Furthermore, please stop using these generators, at least until they stop taking our work to regurgitate it back at you at our expense. Without regulation, AI art is and always will be unethical and come at the expense of artists and art as a whole. Every image you generate continues to harm us. If you want a piece of art, commission someone, or draw it yourself. It doesn't matter what your skill level is, your art will ALWAYS be better, more meaningful, and more valuable than anything an AI can spit out.
Please, fight to protect artists. Fight for ethical regulations of AI generators.

things I like about orion's arm: -amazing world building -diverse cultural landscape and expansion of moral circles -advanced and plausible technologies -total self agency over identity and freedom things I dislike about orion's arm: -the world building refuses to imagine a world without hierarchical domination and says anarchism won't work in the long term. -horrific forms of torture invented -weird and unethical species downshifting -cops and landlords exist even thousands of years into the future and most people still have to work a corporate job even in a post scarcity environment.
honestly I think the idea of a singularity is an interesting idea, but we also have to look at how ai is largely shaped by the working class and micro work that fuels ai data and how the public welfare of capitalist society is largly a biproduct and afterthought the primary motivation of capitalism, which is to produce capital for the owning class off the backs of the laborers. a society of care and mutual aid can be built without the need of a ruling class. there fundamentally cannot be a post scarcity society under capitalism and it will always result in exploitation. the wiki in orion's arm says that anarchism only works for a few hundred years, yet humans have lived in villages on earth in the real world for THOUSANDS of years without a clear central hierarchy and used a gift economy as the primary mode of distribution. the kind of world I want to build is a fully liberated deep ecological pan-species technogaian queer space anarchism, which is is different from orion's arm's neoliberal space capitalism. I really think we can build a better world that doesn't rely on capitalism as the primary means of production.

Just so you know. Ranchu and other similarly-shaped goldfish are a product of heavy abuse in Fish Breeding and should not be supported. They're inbred and misbred for this round quality that makes them more likely to suffer due to their rounded spines, lack of substantial tail structure, and outright are more likely to have swim bladder diseases, pox, and other diseases and illnesses that make them suffer.
Don't support breeders of this type of fish- it's abusive, exploitative, and anyone who does it, and makes profit off of it, is lying to you on the sake of that profit.
Hi, I’m a biologist and have kept many breeds of goldfish on and off for many years. Ranchus, and most fancy goldfish for that matter with a few exceptions, are not unethical or abusive to breed. Yes, they are bred for a short body and that can make them prone to swim bladder problems, but diet can help prevent that and responsible breeders don’t breed fish with congenital heath issues. Every breed of goldfish, just like every breed of dog, carries potential problems and needs that must be accommodated for but that doesn’t mean it’s inherently abusive to produce them.
Also they definitely don’t have a higher likelihood of carrying carp pox or other illnesses than other goldfish. Some breeds of goldfish may be more sensitive to stress and water quality and thus higher chance of catching those diseases when placed in an improper environment, but they don’t come as a diseased fish. You’re way more likely to buy a sick fish at petco than from a fancy goldfish breeder.
There will always be irresponsible breeders who produce bad-quality fish but the same is true about literally any domesticated animal. Ranchus and other short-bodied fish just have different needs than a common goldfish, just like a corgi has different needs than a husky. But there is nothing to suggest that (most) fancy goldfish have a poor quality of life due to their breed. They are overwhelmingly very happy, healthy, active fish when kept by someone who knows what they’re doing.

What’s the name of the Indian Tamamo that Tamamo cat mentions and is she connected to any of the current Indian servants?
That'd be Madame Kayo, wife of Kalmasapada the Freckle-Feeted King. And no, she's not connected to anyone other than her fellow Tamamos. Kalmasapada's story is pretty self-contained.
"Kayo? That name sounds a lot more Japanese than Indian." Excellent point, imaginary commenter. Madame Kayo's myth is Japanese-original.
Tamamo and Daji had already established the trend of when a king is absurdly bad, his political failings get blamed on the evil influence of his super hot wife who is a fox in disguise, so when the tale of super awful king Kalmasapada of Magadha was transmitted to Japan, the Japanese edition decided to add the fox wife trope to his myth, thus creating the character of Kayo.
Kalmasapada's story is that after inheriting the throne of Magadha, he became a faithful follower of an evil religion and swore to unify India by offering the heads of 1000 kings to his unidentified evil god. 999 kings later, he captures Samantavidyaraja (king not mentioned in any other story as far as I know) to be the 1000th sacrifice, but Samantavidyaraja explains the Buddhist truth to him and he becomes a monk.
The Japanese retelling of his story introduces the nine-tailed fox both in her usual role as his corrupting sexy wife and also makes her fox form the nameless evil god that he worshipped.
Side note: In all versions of the myth, Kalmasapada is born because his father finds a lioness in the mountains and has sex with her, so some versions like to exploit his lion lineage to make him more evil by adding that his favorite food is human flesh, which he always procures through cruel and unethical means.
