How do you feel about Usagi becoming Neo Queen Serenity? Do you like it or do you think it would be better if she didn`t? Do you think she would be a good ruler?
Crystal Tokyo is not my “happily ever after” ending and it’s not my go to for sure. I feel like it can work, but it has to be in the right circumstances. First of all, it’s not a “good ending” and I would not try to frame it a s such.
The ideal “good ending” in my mind is the girls being free from their burden of being senshi, but in my AU, that’s not really possible without a “hard reset” to say. It’s loosely based on a hc I’ve talked about briefly here, but the girls don’t get to just choose to stop transforming and live regular lives. The ultimate goal of the sailor crystals is to have their hosts live as senshi and actually use the powers that form provides, if they choose to live as humans, then what is the point.
Crystal Tokyo can work in the context of “destiny is inevitable, but let’s try to do the best with what we have”. It’s a bitter sweet ending, but again, I feel like it could work.
Here’s my conditions:
Crystal Tokyo is NOT the capital of the world! That is just ridiculous and that’s where I kind of draw the line tbh. Doesn’t matter how omniscient Serenity is, she cannot govern the whole world without it being a genuinely and utter disturbing reality to the level of ‘I have no mouth and I must scream’. CT is a city-state, much like the Vatican is. It has minor influences in politics and the area around them, but for the most part they kind of just stand as an independent city-state and do their own thing.
As stated prior, it’s not a “happy ending” and it would never be framed as such. The future is a terrifying perspective and if everything around them is pushing them to think that CT is the one and only safe option for them then they’ll take it.
No one is “immortal” or has extended lifespans. Usagi and the senshi do, but that comes with the “perks” of being a senshi, it’s not a gift given by the Silver Crystal. (Sorry Mamo..)
Usagi will eventually loose herself in the Silver Crystal and the role of Neo Queen Serenity. It’s something she feels coming and knows will be an inevitability, almost like her mother before her, so she makes sure to evenly split her power among her 4 guardians to ensure a “checks and balances system”. They keep each other sane and the future safe from repeating hard mistakes of the past.
Haruka and Michiru are NOT a part of CT. They refuse and instead opt to live a normal life (due to some hcs revolving them and Pluto, they have the choice to live as regular people, unlike the inners). Usagi has granted them and the others a choice, there’s no animosity between them and Usagi, not so much among the inners toward them tho, to varying degrees. Hotaru gets taken in and adopted by the inners instead, since she doesn’t have a choice about becoming a senshi.
The public opinion toward Crystal Tokyo is not all positive. Doesn’t matter how much love and work the senshi put into their image, decisions and rulings, the public will never be cool with what are basically non-humans to them installing an empire within their planet. Conspiracy theories and attempts at revolutions are rampant among CT, that is why is very rare for the senshi and even less the Queen to leave the Palace.
I do feel like Usagi would try her absolute best at being a great and benevolent leader, but unfortunately the world doesn’t work like that. Most everyone starts with good intentions, but failed diplomatic attempt, after failed diplomatic attempt after attempted assassination, the girls’ heart and will turns ever so bitter and cynical, not Usagi tho, til her last moment of consciousness she strives to remain the best person she could be, she’s just aware she can’t openly be so anymore or she’ll risk her own life. Choosing to live her later life mostly in the quiet of the palace, the senshi being her voice that will be heard to the outside.
There’s a certain feel of ‘doomed destiny’ with CT, this is them accepting that the “moon monarchy’’ is inevitable and is meant to happen. It’s basically a defeat on their part, they lose their individuality and dreams for the future and surrender to this cycle that was meant to be all along.
All the girls have grown out of the more cheerful and optimistic selves, having witnessed the inescapable reality of their own destiny and have been hardened by the crueler aspects of humanity. It’s a bit of a bummer, but it’s not all the “everything is terrible ending”. The girls still have each other, they are still themselves, even if hardened by their surroundings. They still love each other and they basically live for each other at this point, aspects of each other leaving permanent stains that remind themselves of the goods of the world and what they are striving to achieve. There’s still good in the world, it’s just sometimes harder to find.

The Most Beautiful Thing In The World Is Love - Chapter 3.
Book: Dracula A Love Story
Pairing: Mehmed x MC
Characters: Şehzade Mehmed, Lale Hatun, Ambassador.
Tumblr media
More than a week had passed since the departure of the imperial army from Edirne, and Alexandra, escorted by two sipahis, had soon followed after them, leaving Lale alone.
The young lady was now restless. Not only had the war taken all of her loved ones away from her, but it also left the palace under the supervision of her Uncle’s grand vizier, Candarli Halil Pasha, to whom the mysterious ambassador seemed to whisper his every wish.
While pondering upon all this, Lale shivered. Her grip on her silken emerald green shawl tightened as she walked down one of the many paths of the gardens, while her mind went back to the fateful letter that Nuray never got to send her.
Despite all logic, she had the intuition that all these unfortunate events and the arrival of the Ambassador were not a coincidence. And everything she had learned from her Uncle’s physician corroborated her theory; after all, even in the past many dreadful events unfolded upon his arrival: Mehmed’s fall, Şehzade Ahmed’s death, Hüma’s condition, the death of her second cousin, then Hüma’s; and lastly, her own mother.
According to Shirvani, demons were dancing and screaming in Hüma’s house on the night Mehmed was cured, and coincidentally, the Ambassador excused himself and did not attend any meeting with the Sultan.
If one thing was certain for Lale, it was that he was the one who summoned those dark forces. And he was the same man that had stalked Mehmed and herself while at the caravanserail, and the words he had spoken back then still echoed in Lale’s mind. He had threatened Mehmed’s position as future ruler by mentioning a potential brother.
Now he was taking advantage of the Sultan’s absence to pressure the inhabitants of the palace, and imposing his vision on the Grand Vizier. Alexandra had been discovered and threatened because of him; what would be next?
Dread filled her stomach as she stopped next to the wooden bench facing the small pound. The young lady had planned to work on the zaviye, but her gloomy thoughts had disheartened her.
She sat down silently and contemplated the gardens for a while, unable to shake off the feeling that something terrible was about to happen. These gardens had become her safe place, where she could hide away from the world and meditate on the serious topics that had been burdening her mind lately. But also, they reminded her of their own designer, of him.
The sound of hurried footsteps made Lale turn around, only to see the breathless messenger stopping a few steps away from the kiosk, and bowing deeply.
“Lale Hatun” he started as he tried to catch his breath. While he was doing so, the young woman noticed the golden tube he was holding firmly; it only meant one thing: this came from the battlefield, and it was sent by someone powerful, urgently.
Her blood ran cold.
“What is it?” she asked while trying to maintain some countenance. “What news of the battlefield?”
“The battle started during the night, my Lady” the man replied while keeping his gaze to the ground. “This letter was sent urgently to you as the first wave was ending.” He extended the golden tube to her, and bowed respectfully once she took it.
Lale could hear her heart pumping in her ears as she looked at the letter and barely heard herself thank the man, before focusing on the letter.
With trembling hands, she opened the tube and examined the seal on the letter before hastily breaking it as she recognised its sender.
There was no introduction, nor salutations, only fourteen lines were elegantly written.
Lale’s eyes widened as she recognised the style of Mehmed’s writing; similar to another one that she received not so long ago.
“O my love! Only if my heart’s pain made my tears spill over for you, would the secrets hidden in me be disclosed to you?
You are seated on the Throne of Beauty ;I am trampled on this road of Earth. O my Solomon! How can a mere ant explain its state to you?
O light of my dark room! Look at this candle weep, at your gathering, see how it goes mad to burn so fine for you.
O my love with the face of the bright moon! It is plain as day that in the anguish of love I am as true as the light of morning to you.
O my love! Somehow, yesterday you stayed the torments my rivals wreaked on me. Did my cries and wails, then, move you?
O dear friend! I cannot explain the wound of separation. So let my torn collar and wounded breast show you how my heart has been torn to pieces for you.
O my love! Don’t bring Avni’s heart and eyes to ruin with your torments. For the great sea of my eyes presents pearls to you, and from the blood-filled mine of my heart are drawn out ruby garnets for you.”
Lale’s fingers trembled as she held the thin paper, and a tear silently rolled down her cheek while she read the last line of the poem. She suddenly felt out of breath, and realised that she had forgotten to breathe altogether. Without taking her eyes off the paper, she sat down on the bench and tried to regain control over her racing heart. Luckily for her, the messenger never raised his eyes to her, and kept staring at the ground; unaware of her torment.
In his poem, he was speaking of her staying the torments his rivals wreaked on him; what rivals could he be talking about? Lale couldn’t recall when she displayed her attention to anyone else than him; or had her Uncle matured his own thoughts about her wedding?
Was this Mehmed’s answer for the talismanic shirt she secretly gave him? And if so, was he wearing it during the battle?
She couldn’t help but feel all of his anxiety, and then joy through his lines and now she could only pray to the Almighty that they would return soon to Edirne safe and sound. That he would come back to her unharmed. She cleared her throat and stood up before addressing herself to the messenger, still bowing behind her.
“What about my family? Are they safe?” The man could feel her piercing gaze on him as she spoke and tried to weigh his words carefully.
“Our Sultan led the battle wisely and remained out of harm; Şehzade Mehmed…” he paused, unsure of what to say. But that short pause filled Lale with dread and she urged him to speak, immediately.
“Our Şehzade fell into an ambush; luckily he wasn’t alone and fought alongside Aslan and the Prince Vlad to find his way back to the camp. Our Sultan was grateful for them keeping the Şehzade safe. And then his Highness went back to his tent, only to return with this very letter and commanded me to ride immediately to Edirne.”
The young lady nodded, thoughtful.
“You shall rest here for a bit and depart in a few hours. I will entrust you with a reply before your departure. You may take your leave now.” She returned her attention to the letter as the man retreated, and sat back on the bench, deep in thoughts.
She only returned to her room at sunset and crossed paths with Shahi Hatun who, filled with exhaustion, had come back from Mehmed’s wetnurse’s chambers. Not wishing to leave the sickened woman alone, and to relieve her own wetnurse, Lale offered to visit her for a moment.
But as she reached Daye Hatun’s chamber, she overheard a muffled conversation that sent shivers down her spine.
“Why am I here? I have business with your ward. It’s unfortunate that he left before my arrival… But I'll definitely wait for him.”
“No…”Lale whispered with dread without realising it, then stepped away from the door, but a moment too late, revealing the ominous form of the Ambassador.
“Lale Hatun… Good evening.”

So. . What if Satan gets Yukio?
[[Tw: mental health, depression, s*icide, death, unhappy shit, etc.]]
I really doubt this will make sense, but as per usual, I'm open to being corrected and spat at lmao. . . So uh, enjoy the read! 😅👌
Boo!
Tumblr media
Look I'm not one to bring up season one's uh. . "Ending" unless I absolutely have to. . But in this newest chapter we see that Yukio and Rin are on they're way to the palace thing and can already assume based on the time skip; things are likely not gonna go well. . Demons require broken individuals, mind breaking is like they're whole schtick. . Only one of the twins has truly spiraled (i.e. self exit attempt), depression is a demon all on it's own; point is, you don't spiral just once. While Yukio is finally healing, he's no where near "better" and unfortunately that makes him a walking beacon of a target. I don't have too solid a theory as to how this will play out, but Satan can't kill them outright correct?? He hates Rin, but Rin is the best body for him, Yukio would be the perfect stepping stone to get closer to Rin. . Rin is headstrong, he won't break easily. . But who is the one person he loves more than anything? If I was a deranged, narcissistic, fuck who wanted to hurt my target to they're core the logical step is to remove who they love/care for. . The older exorcists can be easily removed, Satan's little lackeys are gonna maybe (HOPEFULLY NOT) pick off everyone one by one. . His mentor, his friends, potentially even his love interest, and finally Satan will take his brother. Do I think Yukio has the potential to die? Not really? (A part of him maybe??) But he would be a pretty good puppet to dangle in Rin's face, cause him to despair; act foolish or straight up give up the good fight. . No, we don't see Satan directly having a body yet in the future, but there is a hungry core feeding on the land. He just needs something to latch onto, a vessel to hide in that won't expire right away, just a sentient nugget. . I'm likely going too far, as per usual, but I believe something will happen that will make Yukio either self sacrifice or have his will broken again. I see Mephisto or someone under his direction removing Rin from the situation as to not let Satan get them both right away (also extending the fun, yippee!). Either way, Satan will have a decent body to build around as he waits to challenge Rin again whenever he pops up in the future. The goal won't be to "win" the fight outright, but to have a vessel that can hold on long enough to wear Rin down in order to finally succumb to Satan. I believe that is why we don't see Yukio in the future, Satan has him in some form or fashion and Rin will have to fight to get him back. . The goal of "killing Satan" was already not enough as we've seen, Rin couldn't do it (well he could theoretically but you get what I mean). . . Ooooor I could be talking out my ass as per usual and bringing back an element from a (assumingly approved by Kato) "ending" from season one is too far fetched. . It's not like she's ever set things up from the beginning or anything. . She totally doesn't like hidden meanings. . . 👀

Hey genuinely wondering what you meant when you said that Vandana Shiva has "blood on her hands"
You might remember the pictures going around on tumblr a little while ago when the president's palace in Sri Lanka was stormed by angry citizens.
You know
Tumblr media
Now part of what caused all this unrest was caused by a famine that struck the country, effecting both the economy as well as, you know, people's ability to eat. Now this famine did not spring up out of nowhere, nor was it a natural crisis. This was caused by the country embracing and changing 100% of it's farms to organic. See, organic farming is nice and all but between having a much smaller yield, it's also much more susceptible to pests and disease. It's why it's generally a bad idea to have literally every farm in your country using methods that are over a hundred years old.
See, the president was a big big fan of Vandana Shiva, drank in every word she said, and it was quite literally due to her advice that he banned all chemical fertilizers in the country, leading to a famine by the end of the year. Now I'm not a biologist nor am I in any agricultural-based science field. Neither is Vandana Shiva! She does have a PHD, but it is not in nuclear physics or whatever other science field she has lied about. It's in philosophy. Now I won't say that disqualifies her from speaking on the matter of farming, but her being listened OVER experts in the field is what is concerning.
I'm not even focusing on the various other lies she peddles, like calling golden rice a myth, claiming GMOs are filled with nonspecific "toxins", lying about Indian farmers committing suicide thanks to bi-cotton, as well as just comparing a detractor of hers to a rape apologist. She peddles anti-GMO conspiracy theories with little to no proof as if they're gospel.
Tumblr media
As well as all of the above, back in 1999 when a cyclone left millions of people in India in crisis the US sent aid in the form of a corn/soy meal mix. Now, I need to make myself clear, I do absolutely believe that the united states has, and does use humanitarian aid as a way of extending imperialism. This is not in question. However people were dying, they desperately needed food and they had been given food, in my mind their need in that moment outweighs my moral objections to the predatory nature of foreign aid in the US. Vandana Shiva thought otherwise, fearmongering over the genetically modified nature of the crops used.
"The U.S. has been using the Orissa victims as guinea pigs for GM products"
In a time of desperate need she called the Indian government to not accept food people would die without, not because of the soft power it would lend the US over her country, but because GM crops scary.
If an anti-vaxxer spreads lies and it causes someone to die from an illness that could have been prevented, that is blood on their hands. They may be ignorant or lying willfully, but neither really matters, that death is directly linked to the fear and lies they helped propagate.
I don't know if Vandana believes her own BS, and I don't care. Her critiques on capitalism are actually pretty good and when she argues about GMOs from that angle she actually makes some very valid points. However that is mixed in with countless lies, her own ego stroking, her inability to ever be corrected, and the simple fact that she is willing to let people die for her values.

So I was rewatching sherlock with my bf who's a photographer and he noticed something interesting: there is a near constant tilt-shift blur as still shots throughout at least season 1, possibly the whole series. He said something interesting: that's how the city would look like if you looked at it from a plane window. It made me think of the constant references to planes and landing in season 4, and the theory we are in extended mind palace, seeing all the adventures from sherlovks pov before they get jumbled up. Is this another piece of evidence in support of tarmac EMP?

The six thatchers. Series 4. The fake series we call it. If we go by the John's tab theory... wait no that's only for tfp. Well then if we go by the emp theory (which is getting weaker the more time passes) then The Six Thatchers makes more sense. If this is happening in somebody's mind, idc who's, then TST could be a mental construct. John has a blog post that detailed some guy killing his boyfriend & hiding the murder weapon in a Thatcher bust, then going around smashing them to get it back.
The exact same thing happens in TST, the blog post and episode even have the same freaking name. It was posted during ASIB times. If this happens in Sherlock's mp, then it could be that he was reading John's blog (which he was) and he created the Ajay story while reading that post.
I'm just scrambling for sense. Why would mofftiss use the same trope, same bust, same title twice? It's way too similar. If they were both references to the same ACD canon, I could understand, but they're way too similar for that.

The Reichenbach Fall Game
Tumblr media
Honestly, all I can think about when I see this is The Reichenbach Fall.
Snipers having their eyes on John, Mrs. Hudson, and Lestrade. The reticle of the sniper rifle, the human eye.
And while it makes me think of the Reichenbach Fall, it leads to me to suspect the transmission to be from around that time as well.
“The Game Is Now” also reminds me of the fact that there have been (and still are) things happening in the show that we can’t see, because either Sherlock’s been in extended mind palace since HLV or at some point John changed the narrative.
And if we’re to follow the nature of the Sherlock hashtags they’ve given us in the past, perhaps we can understand what this one’s about:
#SherlockLive (The live game they played on Twitter, in which Sherlock took over a BBC account and gave the public a mystery to solve.)
#Sherlocklives = #JohnWatsonlives (taken from John’s blog)
#TheGameIsNow
The first few relate to the word “live”, one as a play on words. #TheGameIsNow doesn’t seem to fit the pattern. Maybe it doesn’t at all, but if it does, it would imply that we might finally be shown what’s going on under the surface, and Sherlock’s real health state. If Sherlock is in his mind palace for season four, and the last half of season three (starting at His Last Vow), then just as the characters (Charles Magnussen [especially in deleted hospital scene on youtube], Janine)  have told us, he’s been unable to solve cases for awhile. He’s been in the hospital for most, if not all of this time.
#Sherlocklive, #Sherlocklives = #JohnWatsonlives can apply to this, because right now, if EMP (extended mind palace theory) is right, John and Sherlock are still in danger of Mary, Sherlock being physically unwell. And while season four seems to forgive Mary, I believe the narrative is very much played around with, as a way to imply to John (or someone) that Mary didn’t have ill intentions.
Sherlock lives, survives the fall(s) (Reichenbach, being shot by Mary,) John Watson lives (revived from grief, saved from Mary.) #TheGameIsNow
They told us to look elsewhere other than John’s blog now that it’s done, and we have. Now they’ve given us this. It seems likely that this is truly a legitimate game that they’re making, since the company they’ve made five-six months ago (The Game Is Now Ltd) is a gaming company..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I have a hard time believing it’s that simple when they’ve given us the hashtags, and are expecting us to play the game. Unless perhaps, it’s going to be a long ongoing game. An AR game like people have said, where they’ll find clues.
If it’s a game like the past game they had, it will follow the Reichenbach pattern too, because the previous game was called The Network. The use of the word “network” as a collective would usually refer to Moriarty’s network, which Sherlock had to dismantle during his time away from London after the fall. This leads back to the transmission again and the patterns mentioned before with the hashtags.

Mind Palace Evolution
Henlo bois and girls :D . This won’t be an actual meta, it’s just an observation I made months ago, and it regards how the concept of Sherlock’s mind palace evolutioned during the seasons from 1 to 4.
Let’s start with season 1, here there’s not much to say, Mark and Steven didn’t actually talked about a mind palace, but they referenced to a superior mind that only Sherlock possesses. He calls it his ‘hard drive’:
Tumblr media
We have a more concrete introduction to his mind palace in The Hounds of Baskerville when Sherlock had to solve the case about Henry through the words ‘Liberty In’. Here we see all these “useful words” float in thin air, and it’s explained by John how it works. We were told that it’s a momory tecnique, but we already know that it’s much more than that. ;)
Tumblr media
In season 3 Sherlock Mind Palace is finally revealed for what it really is, and actual place where Sherlock can think about possible scenarios and where he personifies all parts of him (Moriarty=fears). Here we get a handful of scenes, from that beatuful scene where he gets shot to the ‘vision’ of him trying to figure Mary out.
Tumblr media
Then we have The Abominable Bride and guess what? We get even more data about Sherlock’s Mind Palace, and ENTIRE EPISODE.
Tumblr media
In the end what do we have? Sherlock Season 4, which is probably an ENTIRE SEASON in his mind palace. This is perfectly in line with the evolution of Sherlock’s mind palace, and it would make perfect sense. Moftiss said many times already that this show is about a detective, not a detective show and that they wanted to show us how really Sherlock’s mind works.
Tumblr media
Well, what do you think about it? Did you noticed it before? As usual, let me know in the comments, byyyeee!

okay so ive been reading up on the emp theory and i take back everything nasty i reblogged/liked about season four sucking ass. moffatiss have been brilliant, up until this season. why would they fuck this up so badly unless they’re planning something? why would they make such weird, inconsistant changes throughout the season? why the dissapearing lamps? the blood? the fucky explosion? they wrote a brilliant crime drama. they wouldn’t- nay couldn’t- ruin one of the most internationally loved tv shows. they just wouldn’t. to be fair, there may have been queerbaiting (and im like 90% sure there was). there were empty promises, and they went back on their word in previous seasons (the spurt of blood, etc.). sure. but they have done brilliant, incredible things. left us breadcrumbs, so we could finally piece together their masterpiece. and honestly, im a little dissapointed in the fandom. we are supposed to be the cleverest people out there, and all most of us has done (myself included) is complain about plotholes, mistakes, and soap opera-esq tropes. i think they expected us to put it together, not tear them apart. and, yeah, im mad too. there was almost no indication that there was a deeper, underlying mystery. but i realised that thats what this show is all about. this show teaches us (or tried to) that you need to look deeper- look at the tiny, easily missed details to solve the case and save the life. this is what they tried to show us, and we couldnt do what they expected- we couldnt be, collectively, sherlock. and that makes me really sad.

How did Sherlock know imagination Mary wanted him to wear the hat? 1. EMP 2. Mary is actually there and not dead (?? - doesn't make much sense). 3. 4th wall breaking - the joke was just a gag for us, the audience. 4. Some other fiction besides EMP (possibly combined with 4th wall breaking) - such as a continuation of alibi theory/unreliable narrator/other storyteller. 5.?

do you believe in any theories that attempt to explain s4 being the way it is? if so, please recommend me some!
Hi anon! x
Aaaaah this is going to be a veeery long list of metas.
I actually don't believe strongly in only one theory, but the one that I think represents the only way to take seriously TFP is that the entire episode is in John's mind, since he's in coma after Eurus had shot him.
Basically, some people thinks that the EMP theory is extended to S4 too, others support the EDT theory and others (like me) think that TFP comes from John's dreams during coma.
There are many theories about S4 or its episodes in particular and these are the meta I have.
It was a bit difficult to categorize them but I hope that this masterpost will be easy to use.
S4 IS A MESS
•List of the weird things that happened
•Masterpost of reasons why S4 is a mess
•Why do many people not accept s4?
•Why did they do that to John's character?
•Analysis and critique of Eurus
•Why Mofftiss should have made a fake s4?
THEORIES
EMP THEORY
•EMP theory masterpost
•HLV/TAB parallels - hospital scene
•HLV/TAB parallels - weird things that make sense only if we assume that EMP theory is true
•Alibi theory (see down) and EMP
EDT THEORY
•EDT theory
•Dream theory - doctor who parallels
•Princess bride - love story
•Princess bride - bedtime stories - nightmare
S4 AND S5 ARE TWIN SEASONS
•S4 and S5 are twin series
•"It's never twins", says Sherlock, but John is always right
•The birth scene was filmed twice in different ways
•The birth scene - Sherlock is driving and John is helping Mary
TFP IS JOHN'S MIND PALACE/DREAM
•Freud - wish fulfillment
•TFP is John's mind palace - masterpost
•John's mind palace - "Listen to the tape"
•Video - all the evidence that S4 is a dream/mind palace
TRANCE THEORY
•Trance theory
JOHN'S ALIBI
•John's alibi theory
•Culverton = dark John (the duplicate man - John killed someone/Mary)
•The texts are from Sherlock since he's narrating the story
JOHN CHEATING ON MARY
•Why does John cheat on Mary? Is it ooc? Why does Mary looks like Sherlock's partner?
•Eurus as the lady at the bus stop - she's working for Mycroft
•Sherlock is the person John is writing to
•John is writing to Sherlock - we can deduce this by the soundtrack
MARY IS A VILLAIN
•Mary is a villain -masterpost
•Is Mary the reason why Sherlock and John didn't see each other for one month?
•Mary works for Moriarty - John is Sherlock's heart and has to burn
•"You don't tell John"
•Moriarty wanted to kill John to stay with Sherlock - Mary wanted to kill Sherlock to stay with John
•Mary's revenge after her death
MARY'S DEATH
•How John reacts to Mary's death and how he reacted to Sherlock's death
•Why did John forget how to be a doctor while Mary was dying?
•Mary's death was physically impossible - contradiction with HLV when Sherlock is shot
•It was impossible for her to reach the bullet - contradictions
MISCELLANEA
•Eurus and Moriarty - Redbeard is Moriarty
•Molly is John's mirror - TFP - "I love you"
•Sumatra/Samsara music
•Mary and the pink elephant peluche - John's drinking problem
•Sherlock becomes blind
•John lost his eye
I'll keep it updated if I find other interesting meta!
If you have any to suggest, please tell me!
I hope this is what you asked for! x

It doesn’t make sense because it’s not real
I was thinking about those films with a dream inception, the ones where you don’t know if the character is dreaming or they’re awake, where dream’s reality is almost identical to actual reality, but you can realize that it’s still a dream only by small details which wouldn’t make any sense in an ordinary world, like a dead woman rising from her grave, it’s not possible, just as the dream. It’s even more intriguing if it’s repeated a few times, with many little hints that, if you watch the film carefully, might help you to recognize the dream even before it’s revealed on screen. It could be objects or people randomly disappearing or appearing, scenes that go against the laws of physics or characters suddenly acting in an irrational and weird way. It’s a great trick to confuse the public, I like the way the viewer is completely involved and identifies with the main character so much that at some point you can’t really tell anymore what is real and what isn’t, and when you finally decide that you’re completely sure everything is back to normal and it’s definitely real, then boom: a secret psychopath sister that looks like samara from “The Ring” comes on the screen!
Tumblr media
And, again, you realize that yes, it’s still a dream.

Just like movies that have traveled the concept of deep unconsciousness and dreams (Inception), in the Abominable Bride Sherlock tells John near the end of the episode that the way he will wake up will be simply to jump into the water. To fall down the Reichenbach Falls.
“How are you going to wake up?”
“I should think like this,” a jump and fall.
The concept that a violent awakening will wake Sherlock up is put in place. But it doesn’t work.
He falls into the Abominable Bride water, he dives deeper into his subconscious, he’s attacked by a skeleton. He’s shot at but never hit, yet slammed against desks in a fight with Ajay with seemingly no repercussion to his health. John Watson slaps him, he slaps him, “Wake up! Do you think this is a game?!” He punches Sherlock, kicks, Sherlock’s visibly damaged for the first time since His Last Vow. He’s bleeding. But yet the blood beneath him disappears in the next shot.
His person has suffered the repercussions of being hit by John Watson, perhaps the emotional repercussion. John is the only factor in his dream world that could wake him, but it’s not violence that will wake him.
“Every superhero needs a good old fashioned villain,” “All the King’s men and all the king’s horses couldn’t make me do a thing I didn’t want to do,” an Apple, “I O U” (A common thread in the stories of Cinderella, Ariel, etc., Snow White is that they make a promise, there is figuratively an apple they’ve accepted from the villain in their naivety. This apple curses them. Sherlock has accepted an apple), Moriarty is the villain who wishes to burn John Watson out of Sherlock, “ I will burn the heart out of you.”
Knowing how old-fashioned Moriarty is, it’s safe to assume this means Sherlock is a story princess of some sort. He naively and excitedly chases after Moriarty’s antics, until he’s suddenly faced with a bomb-strapped John.
If this is the pattern we’re going to have, Moriarty being almost completely a classic villain in this way, and if we have a Sherlock Sleeping Beauty or Snow White with an apple, then it means that traditionally, only affection could wake him. Violence will not wake him.
Sherlock and John hug, at a point in series 4 where those who analyzed the format of the story, and the traditional way a writer would go about progressing a relationship, pinpointed there would be a kiss.
“I am lost. Help me, brother. (proper contextual lyric for Sherlock/John’s mirror, Eurus) Save my life before my doom. I am lost without your love. Save my soul. Seek my room.”
Sherlock’s made amends with Eurus, and while John and Sherlock are both raising Rosie together at the end of this series, there still hasn’t been a kiss.
They run out of Rathbone Place, they freeze mid-air before they can take the final step. The dream doesn’t end. They’re still in an alternate reality that someone’s fabricated, and they’re still stuck in 1895, and a kiss still hasn’t woken Sherlock.
