i wonder how the really militant vegans who are like we need to kill every single obligate carnivore in the world so that the normal and peaceful herbivores never get hurt <3 feel about the fact that plants are very scientifically proven to move, react to damage done to them, recognize plants of the same species nearby that aren't related to them and try to outcompete them, make sounds to communicate needs (but not at frequencies humans can hear), etc etc... like if you think a clam has an inherent sanctity of life and shouldn't be getting dropped by birds onto concrete to break their shells and eat the meat inside of them then you should be equally opposed to the way that plants, which can do many of the same things animals can just in different ways, are getting predated cruelly and heartlessly by those same herbivores

The comparison between white veganism and the pro-life movement both using the "oppression" of perfect "victims" that can't speak as a proxy to try to make themselves seem oppressed and take a moral high ground is so damn right.
