aria montgomery deserved better 2kforever like. in these first two seasons, her relationship with ezra is hard to watch (in more ways than one! i sometimes find myself rooting for them not to get caught, largely because i like and have sympathy for aria but also because the actors do genuinely have good chemistry. but then i remember how fucked up it is! that’s why the romanticization of this relationship was so dangerous!) - anyway. it was hard to watch and messy but she also had like. other things in her story that at least made her feel like a more fleshed out character. and i always see people saying things about how she’s not as kind as she acts like but she literally shows so much empathy to. most people. and her role as a psuedo caretaker/fixer in her family is so nuanced and interesting and informs a lot of how she interacts with ezra (she feels like she’s been forced into a more adult role, so she courts this adult ‘romance’. ugh.) and it legitimately could have been a nuanced and interesting story about family dynamics and the pressure on teenage girls in their roles in family and how that can be connected to grooming if it had been written that way but!!!!

anyway her story just becomes more and more entangled with Only Being About Ezra from what i remember. which is one of the reasons people kept theorizing about her being A but. i just see it as isolation (not total, she is obviously still very close with her friends, but there is a sort of disconnect.) and then they get MARRIED????? she deserved better for real.

This week in particular, I have grown frustrated with how the fandom does Ketsu so dirty. Her character is so horribly represented, it is so unfair. She could be Sabine's biggest supporter. The person she can talk to about things that she can't with either of her families because she was one of her first closest friends. Sabine forgave her for how they parted ways and Sabine was happy to have her old friend back. Bro, why can't anyone appreciate that?

For me, she is considered a part of Sabine's family and I just want her to be treated better.

I think what frustrates me the most about this angst with Olivia and Spencer and how they had BOTH of them act out of character and have their fights be so contrived like you can really tell that they’re trying to make something wrong when there’s nothing to be wrong.

Like having Spencer not automatically believe Olivia or even have him take Wade’s word for it when he said he didn’t do it and tried defending him to Olivia in episode 18 was OUT OF CHARACTER. Spencer would NEVER take anyone’s word over Liv’s, especially someone he had already expressed dislike to and Spencer had always believed Liv first and took her word for it like in S3 when she told that something was up with Carrie, he automatically believed her and he didn’t even see any actions from Carrie himself to support that statement while he has seen actions from Wade that would support Liv’s statements and Wade had already proven himself to be an a-hole but you make him not believe Liv ??? And then had him say literally in episode 19 that he doesn’t care if her work affects him and his team cause he doesn’t want her to sacrifice herself or her work and now they’re making him care of the sudden when it’s his coach and it’s a coach that treated him like trash since he got to the school and then having us believe that he would want to work under someone that could be/is shady and sketchy ??? Make it make sense

And then with Liv, we have seen her confront her parents and literally almost everyone in her life about how they put their careers over her and how that greatly affected her (all of that and even more goes into how she is now, especially since Spencer is the first person in her life to put her first) so to have her seem like she’s gonna have to choose between Spencer and her career is UNBELIEVABLE cause she wouldn’t even put herself in that situation to begin with. like NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE

you would think that with the way they have written spelivia so far that they would be safe, but now since they have introduced this clear BS, we now have to worry about them cause we all know this isn’t right and they deserve better writing along with Sam and Daniel deserving FAR BETTER material than this like they be bringing their A GAME and always steals the show like the least you could do is give them proper and worthy material.
