Warner Bros. is really reaping what they’ve sowed.

First they fired Johnny Depp from Fantastic Beasts and replaced him. Only for it to bomb hard in the theaters.

They kept Amber Heard in Aqua Man 2, only for people to boycott. And we all know it’s gonna bomb too.

They fired Ray Fisher for speaking out against Joss Whedon and against the racist treatment. Now they’re stuck with Ezra Miller, who’s been arrested twice already for literally assaulting people. Now the Flash movie has been postponed and I doubt anyone has an urge to see it.

They’re gonna go down as a studio who punished and fired two victims, while supporting a literal abuser and a violent felon.

They’ve got no one to blame but themselves.

once a week i think about how dc films canned a fully completed batgirl film made by filmmakers of colour, threw out the superman franchise plans with henry cavill AND delayed aquaman 2 indefinitely due to amber heard's trial and mamoa's activism........but the same dc films also took care to adjust The Flash's reshoot schedule to accommodate [checks notes] ezra miller's evasion of court and arrest for the abduction of a child and family.

So, Jonathan Majors was found guilty of physically assaulting his ex-partner Grace Jabbari earlier today.

And while I'm happy for Jabbari because as a feminist, I believe her, but I also want White people to remember that as a White women who's accusing a Black man for assault, people are more likely to take Jabbari's accusations seriously than if she was a woman/femme of colour, especially if she was a Black or Indigenous woman/femme.

Because while Majors is being prosecuted, Ezra Miller, a White actor, is still free to do their business while literally keeping a Native American teenager in their house and not many media outlets are talking about this.

I get the feeling that most people’s impression of toxic masculinity--and this is quite possibly deliberate--is men hunting deer and eating red meat and reading books about WW2 and watching Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.

While the opposite of toxic masculinity is men wearing skirts and dancing to pop music and reading Maya Angelou.

So if there’s one thing I hope people take away from this Ezra Miller shittery--besides don’t watch The Flash if you have an ounce of integrity about all that MeToo stuff--is that men can be as effeminate and gay and look as much like Tom Holland as it gets, and still be abusive assholes.

The guy who looks like this and enjoys outdoorsy shit and doing stuff with his hands can still treat the people around him with respect and compassion... why wouldn’t he?

While the guy who looks like this can be a fucking terrorist.

So, y’know, maybe we shouldn’t treat femininity like a virtue and masculinity like a vice. They’re not. They’re just two ways people can express themselves.
