My Traditional Art vs. AI

I rather like these results for a couple of reasons. As an artist I think I always aim for realistically conveying the idea of the model using lines and shading and it seems like the AI was able to recognize the concept and basically spit out what I was trying to convey. So in terms of being a communicative tool for art I think that’s helpful. One thing I did note was that for the second sketch it seemed to miss a lot of the attitude in the pose. It went for a traditionally attractive image instead so it’s interesting to see how it interpreted nuances like facial expression. The same goes for the last one but I really enjoy the more playful, youthful style of the AI image while it still adopted the visual elements like the red chair and pose and hair. I also liked that there was no whitewashing that occurred here. It recognized the curls and skin tone of the second and third pieces and stayed true to that. The images it generated for my second work has some great curls in it that I would love to use as a practice picture to learn how to draw curly hair better.

In Suramar, hair care used to be a very lucrative business and social beauty standards were particular about hair and scalp health. While a receding hair line could represent mana abuse, if the strands and scalp were healthy then it was seen in society as a sign of wisdom beyond their years.

Due to this, Sarlaros was always proud of this long, silky smooth hair and took extreme care of it. While hair styles and social standards have changed in most recent years, the care routine has stayed the same.
