How do mutants in the Facility live?

One of the most frequent types of questions I get are about life in the Facility. So it seems like a good topic to start my loredumping series with!

Apologies in advance for all the photo examples, I hope they work fine for getting the vibes across.

Overview

The facility dome is visible in the distance.

The facility in general – or, as it’s officially known, the Zh. I. Alferov National Institute of Anomalous Research – is a large structure located on the border of the Zone. Its most notable feature is the massive dome surrounded by an outside wall.

The wall. In real life, the famous building of НИЦЭВТ.

The latter is a building in itself, containing offices, lecture halls, resting and dining quarters for researchers, as well as minor labs. All entrances are supervised, though not totally closed off to the public. Excursions, official meetings, TV reports – all of those happen within the wall.

But you will not find any mutants here. As you may have already guessed, all the major laboratories, anomalous artefacts, and, of course, mutants are housed in the dome. The entrances to the dome are monitored and equipped with anomaly scanners, allowing only authorised personnel and mutants to travel between its sectors.

Mutants cannot traverse the facility unsupervised.

What is the mutant classification system?

Depending on their anomalous characteristics, cooperability and method of containment, mutants are sorted into types and numbered groups. Individual mutant numbers usually look like XT000-000.

Let’s use Dmitry as an example.

Dima’s serial number is DT001-319.

The type constitutes the first part of the mutant’s number. Dima’s mutation is Directional Type, hence the letters DT at the start (for the record, KT stands for Kernel Type).

Next we have the 00X number. Mutants are assigned a 001, 002, 003 or 004 class depending on the potency and containability of their mutation – kinda like SCPs, yeah. Dima has a very powerful mutation he has good control over, plus he is sound of mind, making him suitable for 001 containment.

The last three digits are the overall number of the mutant within their type. So if Dima’s are 319, the facility has had 318 directional-type mutants on record prior to his arrival. This does not mean they were as powerful or had the same level of control over their telekinesis, just that they possessed a similar mutation to some extent.

How do different mutant classes live?

001

001 quarters example. Not too different from a hospital or sanatorium

Subjects ranked as 001 are extremely powerful, have good control over their powers and are, most importantly, docile. Since their mutations are very potent and difficult to forcefully contain, the go-to approach is making them not want to leave.

001s spend most (if not all) of their conscious lives surrounded by doctors. The latter foster a particular mindset in their subjects, where the world outside is presented as a place that is unanimously hostile to mutants. This is done by means of propaganda, reminders about their family’s supposed mistreatment and, in case a mutant has some favourable recollections of their childhood, gaslighting. Additionally, subjects are never left alone with each other.

001s get very luxurious treatment by facility's standards, with much bigger, more comfortable rooms than other mutant types. They're even allowed to have gaming consoles, TVs with VHS and video players, and their own bookshelves. Each mutant has their own separate room, which is kept under constant camera surveillance with the toilet being the only blind spot.

Special folders are issued to 001s before experiments with lower-ranked mutants.

Experiments held on 001s are relatively humane so as not to discourage them from staying at the facility. They do undergo daily checkups mostly designed to monitor their mental state. 001s are also active participants in experimentation on lower-ranked mutants, who they are taught and encouraged to treat as lesser beings.

001s are a high-risk investment, so their numbers are far smaller than those of 002 and 003-class mutants. Additionally, because of the potential danger they present, the institute is quick to dispose of 001 subjects by either termination or reclassification to 004. Though, if a 001 manages to stay cooperative long-term, they can become a very valuable asset for the facility.

002 and 003

002 and 003 quarters example. Though, they’re typically not as well-kept

002 and 003 mutant classes can be grouped together, since their treatment is largely the same. Both of these types’ mutations are easy to forcibly contain. The difference is their danger levels. 003s require close monitoring to not be harmful to others, while 002s are borderline harmless. Both types are characterised by general cooperability.

002s live in wards for 2 to 4 people, while 003s are more commonly placed in single-person wards to prevent accidents. A standard room includes a bed, a desk and a small bathroom (multiple beds and two desks in bigger wards).

Mutants are allowed to borrow books from the library, as well as get drawing and writing materials. If they behave well, they can get a toy or even be lent a handheld console for a few days.

002s and 003s have breakfasts, lunches and dinners together, and can spend some time in the playroom with other mutants (that’s also where they can play computer games and watch TV) – all under very strict surveillance, of course.

In some ways, their treatment is much less cruel than that of the elite 001 subjects.

Though, not when it comes to experiments. 002s and 003s are very common, and are thus treated as disposable material in a scientific sense. The people holding experiments on them are a lot less concerned with minimising the subject’s pain or discomfort. Consequently, it’s not uncommon for mutants of these classes to sustain serious injuries or die as a result of experimentation.

That said, 002s have the highest likelihood of getting released from the facility, given they meet the conditions for it (more on that below).

004

004 quarters example. Basically a prison bunker

004 is a special category reserved for powerful mutants that refuse or physically cannot cooperate. This number can also be issued as a temporary or permanent punishment to misbehaving mutants. The 004 quarters are located underground and have the highest level of security, acting as a sort of bunker for the most dangerous subjects the facility has.

004 rooms are even more barebones than those of 002 and 003s. They have no access to entertainment (unless it is somehow required to contain their mutation) and cannot leave their room under any circumstances. They are more weapons than test subjects.

Do mutants receive education?

All mutants from class 003 and above receive basic education, learning to read, write and count. They additionally get curated history and sociology lessons. Some mutants, namely 001s, attend mandatory classes in certain disciplines to better apply their mutation. For example, Dmitry studied anatomy to know the precise positioning of internal organs.

Mutants are also free to study whatever sciences interest them in their free time by asking for educational materials at the library. Needless to say, most kids aren’t too interested in that, and are very uneducated compared to their outside peers.

Is there censorship in the facility?

All the media mutants are exposed to at the facility is strictly controlled.

The only movies, cartoons, comics, books and games allowed are those that either don't feature the Zone or mutants at all, those that show the discrimination mutants face outside, or those that are very obvious anti-mutant propaganda.

In essence, there are no positive depictions of human-to-mutant interaction, aside from ones between mutants and noble scientists. And, of course, nothing that goes against the general government ideology.

Can mutants be released from the facility?

It is generally assumed that mutants that go into the dome do not come out.

While they are largely dehumanised, the facility is still publicly presented as a sort of scientific sanatorium and hospice for those that cannot safely exist in society. Releasing mutants that know the truth behind the institute’s experiments into the wild is simply of no benefit to the government. So the majority are terminated once their scientific potential is exhausted or if they become too expensive to contain. As a result, few mutants live to adulthood.

Though, there are exceptions to the rule. Occasionally, mutants deemed non-hazardous can be released back into society. This is applicable to mutants that have not experienced significant mistreatment from the facility, lack the ability to talk about their experiences and optimally have been brainwashed by an appropriate 001 subject.

Have other mutants before DT and KT ever escaped?

The funny thing is, escapes aren’t a particularly rare occurrence.

Despite getting a lot of funding, the facility itself is very disorganised. Most of the money is blatantly pocketed by the higher-ups, so a lot of its structures and equipment are subpar – this includes its outdated safety systems. To top it all off, the security staff isn’t especially well-paid, so their diligence is highly questionable.

With all that piling up, there are around 3 cases of low-level escapes every year. Because of tight budgets and plenty of work to do as is, these escapes are generally brushed under the rug. The institute still keeps tabs on the escapees in case they happen to show up on the radar, but it rarely organises active searches or alerts the public for that matter.

DT and KT’s escape stood out because it was anything but low-level, and pretty bombastic at that. But even that didn’t warrant a public announcement for fear of panic and reputational damage. So if you’re an 003 mutant looking for an opportunity to sneak out… Hell, man, just go for it.

That’s about all I can say about mutants’ life in the research centre, scratch some small factoids here and there. I tried to answer the most common questions regarding the topic, so I hope your curiosity was satisfied!

Cumpromised

Everyone loves to talk about the successful secret agents like 007. But nobody things about the others. The ones who came before. The ones who disappeared. The ones we discovered and dealt with.

Agent 004 was one of many who tried to infiltrate our operation. He tried to sneak into our facility with a hidden car, looking for the secrets of Synthetica Lifeform Upgrade Technology. So we opted to give him a grand tour and show him all SluTech has to offer.

Unit GG4 no longer remembers its past. It is just a high end Pleasure Bot who adores flaunting its assets and driving attention-grabbing cars. Gigi, as 'she' as known, has been reprogrammed to be the opposite of what she once was and her agency will never recognize her again. That is until we send documented proof of Unit GG4's conversion to her former handlers.

Our inside sources confirm that the agency has officially marked Agent 004 as 'Compromised'. But at Synthetica, we have a better term for any such agents: 'Cumpromised'. Because with Gigi's new handlers she will certainly be guaranteed a creamy reward during each and every one of her future 'infiltration' missions.

Apollo Program: Block I Command and Service Modules

The Apollo Command and Service Module (CSM) contract was award to North American Aviation on November 28, 1961. At the time, the plan was to land the entire CSM on the lunar surface via the direct ascent and the initial design did not include a means to dock with another spacecraft. Later on this was changed to the lunar orbit rendezvous and lunar landing would be preform via the Lunar Module. This required a major redesign of the CSM and in 1963, NASA decided the most efficient way to keep the program on track was to proceed with the development in two versions:

Block I: the preliminary version for early low Earth orbit test flights only.

Block II: the new lunar-capable version, which included a docking hatch, incorporating weight reduction and lessons learned from the Block I.

The CSM Block I was to be used for all uncrewed Saturn IB (AS-201 & AS-202) and Saturn V (AS-501 & AS-502) test flights, plus two manned missions. This was changed to only one in late 1966, being Apollo AS-204, aka Apollo 1. After the Apollo 1 fire all manned missions were to use the improved Block II versions.

Block I Command and Service Modules produced:

CSM-001: systems compatibility test vehicle, used on propulsion tests at White Sands Missile Range. Completed tests on September 7, 1968. CSM scrapped.

CSM-002: used for powered on tumble abort tests, flew on A-004 Little Joe II, January 20, 1966, at White Sands Missile Range. Modified to 002A.

CM-002A: used to in land drop tests. Modified to 002B

CM-002B: used on pogo tests at Downey, California. Modified to BP-23. On display

CSM-003: cancelled before construction began

CSM-004: structural tests, CM modified to 004B.

CM-004A: Used for Thermal and dynamic tests, redesignated BP-27 on the Saturn I Block II (SA-5D). On display.

CM-004B: Tested a new unified hatch design at Downey, California. CM offered to Smithson but declined, later scrapped by Rockwell at Downey, CA.

CSM-006: CM used for systems capability tests and modified to Block II for ESC tests at AiResearch in Los Angeles, CA. Later used for demonstrating tumbling debris removal systems. CM offered to Smithsonian but declined, later scrapped. SM redesignated as SM-010, on display with BP-23A.

CSM-007: various tests including acoustic vibration and drop tests, and used as a ground test vehicle. CM modified to 007A. SM used for fitcheck of docked model facility, current location is unknown.

CM-007A: used by Astronauts for water egress training, water-survival training and extended recovery training in the Gulf of Mexico. CM was refitted with Block II improvements. Underwent testing for Skylab at the McKinley Climatic Laboratory, Eglin AFB, Florida, 1971–1973. On display.

CM-007A is on display at the Seattle Museum of Flight, Seattle, WA.

CSM-008: complete systems spacecraft used in thermal vacuum tests. CM modified to 008A, SM offered to Smithsonian but declined (August 1973), later scrapped by Rockwell International at Downey, CA May 1977.

CSM-009: flew on AS-201 (later designated Apollo 2), CM modified to 009A.

One of our top agents became infected before arriving at the facility, she was put in quarantine upon showing symptoms and over time her condition became worse and her face began to rot and mutate however her sanity is still intact however the infection has shown no signs of slowing down. She is cooperating with all containment and quarantine procedures but is slowly deteriorating both physically and mentally. She theorizes that she became infected after 003 kissed her on the cheek before she left for work.

Seemingly just an infected house cat, 001 has the ability to speak English. Although her voice is gargled and pained. She fully understands everything she is saying and the few “conversations” between researchers and 001 have proven that 001 is highly intelligent and is aware of her infectious nature. She wants to spread the infection to everyone she can as she describes it as something to be desired and the infected become “beautiful”

Subject 005 (telemarketer)

Status: uncontained

Non infectious

Malicious

005 was admitted to a local hospital presenting to the emergency room with a highly infected and necrotic bite on his arm, he claims he was attacked by a cat at work but the bite mark looks more human than animal. Within only minutes in the hospital his arm fell off and 005 became more irrational and violent. It’s unclear what happened next, reports from survivors of the incident say that 005 began attacking people with a sharp goring appendage where his right arm used to be. 005 was also reported to mimic voices of those who were already killed by it which lured more staff towards danger, it was also reported to call 911 to attack officers who responded to the call. The Hospital was evacuated by [redacted] however 005 seemingly escaped and is now under high priority for containment. Nobody in the hospital showed any signs of infection.

Lope:Ah, yeah- our recording devices still seem to be picking up noise from all facilities properly, our temporary one included. So, the prisoners are being recorded as they should be. I heard one facility had sprinkler issues? We're lucky that didn't damage any equipment but- Huh, management really should stop sending cottontails to do a hare’s job. Well at least everything’s still good- Oh, they've been up for a minute now haven't they? I'm late and the profiles weren't up in time. Stop the complaining. I did say I'd be testing things on top of running this Milgram. The transcripts of what has transpired will be up later.

This one’s a bit of a strange case. He’s very relaxed in these circumstances and walks around as if this place were his own house. I haven’t really figured out what gets to them yet. He mentioned something about some time offline doing him some good. A decent cook for someone that age. His mannerisms make him come off like an old man. Maybe he was raised by older people. That sometimes happens, doesn’t it? Might have picked up the mannerisms from them.

Permanent Record

Nell has perfect grades with 4.0 GPA. However, his attitude is rather perplexing for a child of his age. He complains about leg pain, the school chairs being uncomfortable on his back and the teacher writing too small on the board. His vision and physical health are good. We don’t understand why he’s behaving this way. We thought he was joking at the beginning of the year, but it’s persisted.

We assumed he had grandparents he was imitating but his mother says his grandparents passed away before he was born. It’s not as though it’s a large issue but it certainly isolates him from his peers. It is recommended that communication counseling continue for the rest of his middle school years until we’re able to help him out of this period he seems set in.

Nell: Yes. I would like to if that’s okay.

Worker: Oh, that’s perfect I’m sure they’ll love you! I never thought a kid your age would be interested in things like this.

hello hello i was gonna make one of these sooner or later! thank u to @loveismine for asking abt them this was the motivation i needed LOL . also tagging @eqqbyte @harvsbian since they asked :]

STORY SUMMARY:

my oc universe (3 years unnamed and counting!) is set in a universe where most people die twice; the first time, you come back with powers based off of the way you died (or rarely something completely unrelated,) the second time you die for real. this brings with it a bunch of new cultural norms; middle and upper classes have ceremonies to achieve specific powers, lower class families sometimes save up for these ceremonies and bank on having one child with practical powers to support them through work. ptsd from the 'first deaths,' especially if youre someone who was put through a specific ceremony for it, is extremely common but largely dismissed. etc etc there's a lot of pointless details i've thought out

the story is centered around nebula - one of the many 'children' (test subjects) of the very very corrupt government - her wife lynn, a pretty normal woman who works as a model, and lynn's childhood friend dia (and HER sister ember) who resents nebula because . . . : )

nebula is keeping secrets, notably her actual origin and why she and lynn even met to begin with; when ember gets kidnapped during nebula and lynn's wedding, the entire plot kicks off.

NEBULA

WARNING: includes discussions of child abuse/child death

one of the few legitimate children to her science-obsessed parents, nebula was involved in their government research since she was a child. the government intended to create an army of extremely powerful individuals, and to do this carried out a series of experiments to see just how random someone's powers could be - and if powers could be specifically engineered to manifest in a certain way.

to nebula's parents she was just another test subject, so she was given the name NE-004 and at five years old left to suffocate in space as part of one of their experiments alongside a group of other children. she came back to life with gravity powers; she can alter the gravitational field strength of any object within a 1km radius, as long as it's within line of sight. this wasn't the intent of the experiment, and so nebula was deemed a 'failure' and spent most of her life until around 19 growing up in a government facility with dozens of her 'siblings', being trained in combat, weapons etc. so she could still be useful in the future as a guard. it was dehumanising, isolating, and nebula and her 'siblings' were often subject to abuse from eachother or their handlers, or painful/invasive experiments from the facility's scientists.

nebula was sent out as a sort of spy when dia's family caught the attention of the government (more about this in ember's section, but ember's powers manifested in a unique way that the government wanted to research.) her mission was to get close to the family, gain their trust and eventually obtain the information the government needed more discreetly.

and then she met lynn.

lynn was dia's best friend; the two were basically inseparable, so she was the perfect way to get closer to dia's family without seeming too suspicious, especially to the now paranoid and distrusting dia herself. with lynn, nebula felt for the first time that she was being treated like an actual person; her own emotions were clumsy and her social skills awful from her lonely upbringing, but the two of them quickly fell in love and got engaged.

all the while, lynn had no idea of nebula's origins. neither of them liked to discuss their families, so she had no real reason to suspect. but in the background nebula's superiors were getting impatient. two years passed and with no helpful information gained in all that time, they sought to resolve the issue themselves.

which leads to ember being kidnapped at the wedding.

grew up as the oldest sibling in a large working class family; had to take care of her siblings a lot while her parents worked toward the promise of a proper ceremony for her when she became a teenager. lynn's family intended for her to gain fire powers since they were pretty practical + versatile, and as a result set her and dia up on playdates so they could become friends and eventually train eachother's powers together.

at the age of 11 she drowned. as a result she gained the power to turn her hair into water to its roots; something her family obviously didn't want for her. lynn's relationship with her family broke down over the years, not helped by her coming forward about the actions of a 'family friend' from when she was younger and made all the worse when they didn't believe her. she left home to live with dia's family at the age of 15; she still considers dia's parents more family than anyone else.

passing school with alright grades, lynn went into modelling and quickly picked up traction thanks to her looks and powers. she met nebula a little into her career; they bonded strangely quickly, and despite dia's distrust of nebula lynn proposed to her anyway. her life was going good.

in reality, lynn's self esteem was extremely low; her powers were weak and good for nothing except aesthetics (especially in comparison to nebula and dia's), she still felt guilt over 'abandoning' her family, she felt stupid and naive for letting herself be manipulated as a child but refused to kill her trust in people for it.

all feelings that would spiral out of control after the wedding, and after nebula would be forced to admit the truth.

DIA

pretty tame middle class upbringing; her mothers both worked for the government (relatively low level civil servants though.) went through a ceremony at the age of 13, just like her parents had before her, and came out with horns and a devil-like tail that could materialise fire (she doesn't use the horns often though because they singe her hair lol) and also severe nightmares but that's supposed to be normal.

pretty upbeat and flippant about most things but is fiercely protective of her younger sister ember, especially after the media attention her family gained in the wake of ember's powers manifesting. she shelters her pretty severely in an attempt to protect her and this definitely won't come back to bite her.

EXTREMELY mistrustful of nebula from the start; mostly gets along with her for lynn's sake. her hatred reaches a peak after the wedding and in the main events of the plot.

not a lot to say about her tbh? i love her though : ) if there's a character whose pov you'd be reading from itd probably be her

EMBER

dia's younger sister! more of a side character but she is plot important. very sheltered upbringing (much moreso than dia since ... dia is very overprotective lol) very nonchalant about like.. everything, she doesn't have much of a filter but it usually doesnt get her in trouble because shes not a mean person to begin with. underwent the same ceremony dia did at age 13.

the clawlike hands (she can summon fire w them) are the manifestation of her powers; this got her and her family media attention because this was the exact same way her mother's powers manifested - an extremely rare occurrence the reason she gained the attention of the government. this was one of their points of research; if there was a link between family members' powers and if there was a way to ENSURE family members had the same powers. this of course leads to them sending nebula out and later ember getting kidnapped.

her and z's stories are like integral to eachother so i advise skimming z's backstory before this at the very least but i cant stop you lol

leader of the most high-profile resistance against the government. had a relatively happy childhood that was cut abruptly short when she was out with her family one day; they were mugged, and at 12 years old mercury was stabbed to death alongside her parents. she came back to life with the power to manipulate metals and was almost immediately bought into a prestigious school to train her powers, fully funded by the government. meanwhile her younger sister (being at home w a babysitter at the time) was put in foster care; their relationship was distant, though not from lack of trying on mercury's part.

mercury quietly grew to hate her powers; they were the reason she could barely see her sister, the result of her family's deaths, and yet they were treated like a blessing by everyone around her. at the same time they were the only advantage she really had in life, and in a way the last thing her parents had given her - so she trained like hell and graduated with top grades lest it all be for nothing.

somewhere along the line in high school she met z and they fell in love; z was smart and easy to talk to and about the only person she seemed to be able to have a real critical conversation with about their world - what these powers meant, why they happened in the first place. they both ended up in one of the country's top universities; funded and used personally by the government to scout new talent.

and then, at the start of her second year of university, z vanished. no goodbye, no texts, nothing.

mercury spiralled. she dropped out and searched desperately for z long after anyone else had accepted her death, devoted her life to that and nothing else and barely took care of herself at all. along the way she stumbled across forums; huge networks of people whose loved ones had vanished in the same way. then, even smaller networks talking about how they'd been working for the government months before and now their so-called 'employers' were acting like they'd never existed.

the rebellion was never meant to be what it became. it started as a sort of support group; a shoddily made up forum mercury created herself where people could freely discuss their loved ones and what might have happened to them. the group grew massively, countless stories of the very same circumstances; people digging up whatever proof they could, all manner of people contacting mercury asking how to help, offering funds, even those wanting to seek their own justice - and mercury can't say her encouragement of it was entirely selfless.

the grief had to go somewhere physical. over the years mercury's group outgrew it's original shitty webpage and became something else entirely. but despite being branded as the resistance's leader, most of its build-up felt out of her hands; she managed the funds and tracked members, sure, but she was never a leader. she couldn't give speeches or motivate any emotion but anger. violence was the language she spoke best, despite it all.

she never forgot about z. every time they raided a government facility or uncovered some new documents she looked for her face.

she found it, eventually - on the side that she'd been fighting against for years.

despite that, mercury still loved her. z was one of the only things she had left to love and she clung to her with everything she had. noone knew, of course, because the consequences for either of them would be deadly, but they still got together frequently. despite everything z had done, despite everything mercury knew she'd been capable of and despite how much they fought, now.

mercury is a minor character in the main story; she becomes a sort of mentor figure to nebula and her and z's relationship is sort of a parallel/worst case scenario of nebula and lynn's. i love her very very dearly.

Knight 009 originally provided us much trouble, with it often carrying out actions it claimed were “missions” from some being we were unable to see or interact with. Such actions included destroying eighteen labs and breaking every lightbulb in one half of the facility.

Thankfully we were able to introduce it to Knight 004 with an instantaneous positive outcome.

While the two originally were completely incompatible socially, there was a great decrease in Knight 009’s destructive behaviour.

Prolonged separation from Knight 004 may cause such behaviours to re-emerge, and separation outside of controlled environments is not advised.

The Cage

The cage is the largest “experiment room” in the Project X facility, it is three stories high with a large window on one of the walls.

That is where the staff monitor them 24/7, watching what they do, seeing how they behavior.

Ground zero chapter 0(the breach)

Incident Report Timeline:

7:30 am Monday, November 7th:

An electrical malfunction occurred, resulting in the failure of the enclosure containing GSO-004 (Varan). The creature escaped and took flight.

Z.o.n.e dispatch teams were immediately alerted, and a KG class state of emergency was declared worldwide.

5:24 pm:

GSO-004 (Varan) was sighted over Manila in the Philippines.

The USSRP ATRAGON in the Philippine Sea raised its weapon systems to high alert.

9:40 pm:

The Gotengo submersible vehicle reported a significant radar blip approximately 670 meters below sea level in the Sea of Japan. It was confirmed that this entity was distinct from GSO-004. The Gotengo fired its maser-powered torpedoes in the direction of the blip at around 10:45 am.

At 11:15 am, the Gotengo initiated a distress signal.

11:17 pm:

The Gotengo disappeared from radar, presumed to have been sunk by the new entity.

11:30 pm:

The new entity demonstrated no response to the USSRP ATRAGON. Consequently, the Japanese branch of the SSRP deployed its RED ALONE VTOLs for aerial combat.

1:34 am Tuesday, November 8th:

The RED ALONE VTOLs engaged in combat with the new entity. During the encounter, Varan was killed by what witnesses described as "a glowing blue pillar of fire."

The USSRP Independence's weapon systems were triggered due to a perceived threat located approximately 8 kilometers away. Agent Kobayashi contacted the SSRP and was advised to stand by.

1:55 am:

Dorsal spines emerged from the water, and the intense heat from these spines effortlessly sliced through the battleship USSRP Independence, causing it to sink rapidly.

3:01 am, Fukuoka, Japan:

The new entity, later identified as GSO-001, surfaced and launched an attack on Fukuoka. The incident resulted in the deaths of approximately 210 individuals, with around 1,000 sustaining injuries.

Following the attack, GSO-001 submerged and has not been observed since.

4:00 pm, November 9th:

The SSRP officially classified GSO-001 as a Tyrano-class entity. The SSRP noticed erratic behavior among several other GSOs worldwide during the active period of GSO-001. As a precautionary measure, the SSRP raised the alert level for all its facilities.

OCTAVINELLE: GUIDE & CULTURE, PART 1.

foreward: as the culture of octavinelle is unique to each individual’s portrayal of azul, i’d like to introduce how octavinelle operates under my interpretation its housewarden, azul ashengrotto. included in this series of meta: rules under octavinelle (circa mostrum azul), octavinelle’s culture, and demands that azul expects every member to meet.

the following information is unique to my portrayal of azul and his vision of octavinelle. should there be another azul in the directory if i were to drop him as a muse, these standards and culture for octavinelle would no longer apply.

this guide & culture meta is mainly for my own reference and inspiration. this is not a strict rule or anything for any other mun besides myself, except for mostro lounge (as its directly owned by azul).

FUN FACTS: CANON CONCEPTS UNDER OCTAVINELLE.

001. octavinelle's motto is "do everything at your own risk." (ssr dorm floyd voice line) essentially, live by the rules of fuck around and find out. azul purposely rules octavinelle with a lax hand-- the looser the rules, the greater opportunities for loopholes. octavinelle students are a cunning bunch; it would be heartless of the housewarden to deprive them from letting their individuality shine.

002. therefore, besides benevolence, octavinelle's members value individualism. (union birthday trey vignette) each member of octavinelle is expected to pull their own weight and perform their respective duties as members of octavinelle. octavinelle is a dormitory of respectable gentlemen and responsible adults; know your place in the dormitory and make your contribution count.

003. octavinelle's guest room reservations start at 100 thaumarks a night. (ch.3)

004. customers and employees of mostro lounge are expected to abide by octavinelle conduct, regardless of whether they are members of octavinelle or not. (ch.3)

OCTAVINELLE & MOSTRO LOUNGE (IMPORTANT!)

001. mostro lounge operates independently from octavinelle and night raven university. it's an establishment under ownership of azul ashengrotto, exclusively. mostro lounge reserves the right to refuse service to any person under any reason. mostro lounge also reserves the right to restrict access of its facilities to unaffiliated individuals and non-employees.

002. mostro lounge utilizes octavinelle's kitchen. other areas of operation include: the entire eastern wing of octavinelle's dormitory (mostro lounge & vip room, among other areas such as a storage room). non-employees are prohibited from entrance into mostro lounge's facilities, regardless of dormitory affiliation.

003. members of octavinelle are not required to work for mostro lounge. members who do agree to work for mostro lounge are required to sign an employee contract. worry not, azul ashengrotto is a respectable businessman and treats his workers favorably.

004. mostro lounge generally operates from 5:00pm - 11:00pm. hours may vary depending on occasion; this does not include hours of preparation & clean-up.

CANON DIVERGENCE ; 004. LONGING TO BELONG ( season 4 )

*** so ... in spirit of making jane experience the least amount of pain going forward and in an effort to maintain her trajectory i am going to be moving my entire s4 arc to a canon divergent state where she goes to juvenile detention instead of becoming wrapped up in more government control, experiments and the extreme trauma of being in br*nner’s presence once again !

a rough timeline as i research

mar 22. the incident at rink - o - mania. mar 23. jane hopper is arrested, brought to lenora hill’s PD and processed as a minor. since no legal guardian nor parent is contacted nor present, they proceed with an interrogation. **jonathan unable to get a hold of joyce either gets in touch with owens or some public defender in the mean time. due to the police seeing “little empathy” or “remorse” in jane’s actions as well as her “not knowing” whether or not she wanted to kill angela she is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

* this is a serious charge classified as a FELONY of the THIRD DEGREE which pending no priors could result in up to 5 years in prison, up to 5 years of probation and 5k in fines.

mar 23, evening. jane arrives at OH close youth correctional facility and is given a cell as well as a shower, and uniform. her hearing date is set for tomorrow morning since it’s luckily, not a weekend.

mar 24. her brothers drive over to the facility to see jane either before the hearing or during it where they **release her pending owens’ help with putting jon on as a legal secondary guardian, a public defender citing no prior violent behavior to release her, or hold her due to the seriousness of her attack, concern over jane’s mental wellbeing / status.

this, is where it gets fun. so, what ensues is basically a race to prove either jane was acting in self - defense, THE VIDEO coming into their hands to play for the judge would be INSTRUMENTAL and could possibly end up in charges dropped because of public humiliation since angela’s actions and those at the rink could be classified as harassment, etc. at that stage, jane could also get referred to some counselling services due to her “strange” and “not normal” behavior, and could be a condition for dropped charges.
