I can literally imagine Natsu giving Lucy his scarf all the time after they start dating just because he thinks she smells nice (and so the scarf smells like her) and because he wants the whole world to know that she is his girl!!

But just like in the 100yq I can also see Lucy wanting to wear the scarf and Natsu being playful and trying to take it back (even though he absolutely loves how she looks in it)

Future!Emmet was pretty lucky to not only locate Celebi but also have it grant his wish and send him back in time to help him in his big plan. (I highly doubt it grants wishes from every rando that finds it)

Too bad he messed badly up in the middle of it. That's what you get when you're being cruel and toy with your twin brother.

verrrry lucky indeed! emmet had been looking for celebi for little more than half a decade at that point, checking rumors and forests across the regions in search of them (with many close misses and dead ends).

as for granting wishes, celebi saw a man racked with desperation and grief (on his knees, with tears running down his weary face, and hands clasped and begging, pleading, please please) and thought it would be funny to see what would happen if they let him use that monkey's paw and messed with time sksksk

did it know things would turn out the way they did? no, of course not. is it entertaining to see the train wreck that followed unfold? definitely

#monthly reading list #keeping the list pretty low-key #i didn't have any month-specific cravings this time #except 'romance' and 'fantasy' which are both too broad to count as specific goals #found the princess and curdie at the library #and realized it could count for the type of cute fairy tale with a touch of romance i was looking for #once lent hits i'm going to go to town on the books i own #i've got a few that have become lent traditions (i am almost definitely going to read stradling's 'the heir and the spare' this month) #but i also want to read some of the new ones that linger unread on my shelves
