Of my 3 old show obsessions, 2 are coming back and I would like the 3rd to make a comeback as well

#the 2 being winx club and fairy tail #the 3rd being lolirock #I may have started listening to winx and lolirock music again #and rewatching fairy tail to prepare myself for the 100 year quest animation coming out in july #i'm excited #but I would CRY over lolirock getting a season 3 #it's what it deserves #nonsims #back on my bullshit #you know I should watch winx season 8 #I have not because... well... the animation style changing #esp bc of the specialists #omg...

I know what you mean about the Ochako situation, like isn’t she post to be the heroine in this manga ?

I can’t remember any moments that stud out to me besides Ochako vs Katsuki fight (but that was like in season 2? )

Honestly out of all quirks , I really liked Ochako. It’s gravity !

it has so many potentials if giving the chance to shine

Like imagine her touching the floor , and the floor light up pink for miles and if your in the pink zone you float ! From living to non living things

or maybe if Horikoshi read other mangas or movies that has gravity users to get ideas from , like Shiki from Eden’s zero (he’s a strong gravity user many moves Ochako could use) , or that one villain who used gravity to smack natsu about (fairy tail first movie )

I know right?

She's supposed to be the main heroine.

Except she's not.

She's a hero, because it's a show of heroes and true heroism. We get the moral part right but not the flashy cool moves part. At least she's not the damsel in distress but she doesn't do much either. At least every other hero gets to defeat villains and show cool moves.

Take the current arc for example:

Bakugo got Howitzer Impact Cluster Bomb and another cool suit upgrade

(and something tells me it's not over yet, he will make a comeback to save Deku from Shigaraki and come up with even more new cool moves as a result of his new development)

Mina got ACIDMAN-ALMA

Jirou got a team up with HAWKS!! Plus HEARTBEAT LEGATO was something!!

Tokoyami got BLACK ANKH BALDR...

Vs what Ochako got...

When Bakugo got Cluster, it was a culmination of his development in saving department.

A 9 page chapter that probably holds the record for shortest main chapter, a move that is shown in 1/3rd page with no proper planning or meaning behind it.

When Mina got ACIDMAN-ALMA, it was a symbol of her strength to protect those she care about.

Tokoyami's Ragnarok and other moves show that even if it's dark, there can be light.

Shouto's new moves proves that he is his own person and not just Endeavour's son or Dabi's brother.

What does Ochako's move signify?

Does it signify anything?

It doesn't. It's just bad/lazy writing. Even the anime writers could come up with a better move. Plus, hasn't Horikoshi already seen the anime original episode? Isn't that why he decided to make Selkei canon? So he should already know that Ochako can do it. I think that's the main problem. There were several moments where she could have shown new moves: During the Overhaul arc, Deku retrieval arc, or even in this war arc early on. My problem is that she's never shown to be training like others. She has the slowest and most mudane development in the entire series. That maybe a stretch but you get what I mean.

Plus, she got stabbed and everyone thinks she's dying and that sucks. Because morals are not alone to prevent injuries. People have no faith because they have never seen Ochako in a difficult situation where she is forced to put up a fight. That's also why the only moment that stands out in her arc was Bakugo vs Ochako and that was years ago.

That's also why her popularity has decreased.

Heck even I could come up with better moves for her.

Talk about disrespect. And she's supposed to be the main character. I think that's also a problem. She was always marketed as MC, which she's not. At least not in Horikoshi's story.

My only saving grace would be an epic quirk awakening...but seeing as things are going on right now...I don't have much hope left...even a rising chapter feels like too much to ask for.

As a warning this post is going to be all over the place and long because I Have Thoughts about these blockmen.

So first off, they are so fucking loyal to each other. I am stressing that because they came together during 3rd Life. The season of loyalty, but also betrayal. Dogwarts is the only team besides Flower Husbands to have not turned on each other at any point at all. (besides Martyn planning to betray Ren. But that's not canon so-)

And also they're just so fun to watch? Like you see them in any non-dogwarts pov and you think they're scary and they know what they're doing at all times, and then you watch a dogwarts pov and they're. goofing around. Ren and Martyn are roleplaying while Skizz and Etho do their own thing. BigB is somewhere. Maybe in the caves. Do they have a plan? No. But they're going to fight anyway.

Also they had a snowball fight with Grian & Scar at one point. During Impulse's 6th episode at the end you can see it. They called for a snowball fight in the middle of a war. What was happening.

And on the note of Impulse, Ren, Etho & Skizz all trusted him. Martyn was a bit suspicious but he trusted Ren's judgement. They all let Impulse into the group because he gave them some arrows. And where did it get them? Impulse killed two of them. Martyn's second life and Etho's final life.

Also Etho & Impulse during 3rd Life is actually just tragic. They were friends for a while, and Etho never distrusted Impulse until the end of episode 7. They were based together. They literally lived together. And the Impulse is a traitor. And he permakilled Etho in the end. And then until Limited Life they were basically enemies. (Traffic! Etho & Impulse is a topic for another day tho)

Actually if I'm talking about duos and how they interacted, Etho and Skizz. They've never not been teamed and they're so fun to watch. They just have a way of working together and it's amazing to watch. Most underrated traffic duo in my opinion. Like, they were working together at the end of episode one. They've been teamed the entirety of the traffic games and I think that's really interesting.

Actually Etho & Skizz seem to mirror to Ren & Martyn. They had basically never interacted before 3rd Life, but they've always allied together afterwards. They've both partaken in a execution of each other, to give an advantage to the team (Ren was killed by Martyn so he could actually attack Scar instead of being forced to only use self defense, and Skizz was killed by Etho so that Etho could have a bit longer to live). I am going crazy about this whole thing

I don't have as many thoughts about BigB because I'm still currently working thought his pov so take a very mini rant:

I love the traffic fandom, I do but like. STOP EXCLUDING BIGB FROM DOGWARTS. Yes, he was absent during session 7. He was still part of the team. He's a red banner. He's also always been teamed with Ren. Dogwarts, The Fairy Fort/The Shadow Alliance, the Box Boys. They've always been teamed and I think more people need to acknowledge that.

You've probably already heard a bunch about Renchanting. I love them but like. Could people stop filling up the Dogwarts tag with just Renchanting? Please? Please stick to your own tag. I just want content of my five silly guys.

And going back to Dogwarts as a whole, they react so fast to everything. Like that time when Etho went out to try to rob Desert duo and got killed? Within like three minutes, max, almost all of dogwarts was there. They prioritized Etho's wellbeing over anything else in that moment. And when Martyn killed Ren, Skizz was ready to fight Martyn without a second thought. And when session 8 started, and BigB was vulnerable, they all went to make sure he could get out from the caves without dying.

And also a fun fact I will never get over, Skizz forged the Red Winter axe if I'm remembering correctly. Skizz's impact on that whole thing is so direct, but next to nobody knows about it. And another thing I remember, is that when Skizz stormed the Crastle, nobody went in trying to get the axe. They all went to stop (or at least help) Skizz, who rushed in. His bloodlust overcame everything else, and he ran. But not before giving everyone a golden apple. Which was also the last thing Etho ate to try to keep himself alive.

And I remember seeing a comment about both sides losing at the end of session 7. Grian & Scar seemed like they lost because two people on their team died and the desert trap didn't work. Dogwarts was out numbered. They had lost a teammate to being permakilled, and one to being a traitor. They were 3 against 8. And then 4 against 8 by session 8. But they were still outnumbered. There was next to no way they could've won. Maybe if Skizz hadn't died, they'd have more of a chance. Maybe not.

It's two years to late to wonder about what-ifs anyways.

Having gone through the first season of My Hero Academia, I think All Might is probably the best mentor character out there. The mentor badass is one of my favorite character tropes. They're the seasoned fighters who, despite whatever flaws they possess, 1) really are masters of their craft, and 2) are capable teachers. They're cool, they kick ass, and their mastery is hard-earned.

What places All Might at the top of this pile? First, he has sensible flaws. He's injured in such a way that he is unable to sustain his quirk. He is proud and takes his work with heavy responsibility, causing him to constantly overwork even within the bounds of his injuries. In some sense, Midoriya is his exit from the superhero life because he cannot figure out how to retire responsibly. He isn't excessively vain (there is some vanity, but it isn't excessive). He isn't a pathological pervert. He isn't excessively aloof or cold to hide some tragic backstory.

Second, All Might is compassionate. He initially doesn't tell Midoriya what he wants to hear because he is rightfully afraid it will endanger the boy. He lets Midoriya down with solid reasoning and provides a solid alternative. He does not mock the boy but respects him and his desire. All Might shows further respect by owning up to his mistakes, re-evaluating Midoriya in light of his bravery and knowledge, and judging him a worthy successor of One for All. His training is not excessive. His guidance, while sometimes rushed, is thought-out. He shows grace to Midoriya whenever the boy falters or acts brashly, even recognizing when such behavior saves his own life.

In many ways, All Might is the father that is missing in Midoriya's life. We know Midoriya has a father somewhere: he's mentioned once or twice in the present tense, but it seems he's never present, so his mother is the only one who has raised him. He is a positive masculine force who embodies virtues of strength, responsibility, compassion, respect, and temperance. Yes, some of Midoriya's peers act within some of those virtues, but they are also kids who are growing into them and make many mistakes in judgment. What sets Class 1-A apart from the rest of UA is that they had to learn early on what pro heroes have already matured into, and yet they're still learning. Those relationships with his peers are also important, but the father-son dynamic with All Might is just as, if not more, important.

I think the only other mentor badass that compares here in my limited knowledge of anime is Markarov Dreyar, the 3rd, 6th, and 8th Guild Master of Fairy Tail. Markarov is compassionate and wise in dealing with his guild. Not only that, he is a father figure to the guild in a very literal sense: the Fairy Tail Guild is essentially a wizard orphanage. However, being a Guild Master means he has a lot of work on his own plate. The relationship between him and his "brats" is not quite as intimate as what All Might and Midoriya enjoy (although that did not make his sacrifice any less emotional). Yes, there are reasons to portray broken father-son relationships because those are everywhere, and people need to know they aren't alone in their suffering. However, it is also important to see good, healthy father-son relationships, too, even if they are found family.

I've got an excel spreadsheet with these and others that I want to watch, but haven't yet, totaling 126 lmao As of right now (1/2023) I have no desire to watch Attack on Titan, One Piece, or Naruto (again, please don't come for me and PLEASE don't try to convince me), but I welcome any other recommendations and/or discussions/chats about any I listed!

So my friend wants to go watch the new kny movie that's coming out next weekend. So he gave my other friend and I homework: to watch kny so we could understand what would happen in the movie when we go see it. I got him into bnha so i think it's fair that he gets me into a series he likes (but not fairy tail ...... anything but that). I didn't expect for the explanation of watching the movie to be. Confusing? He gave me 2 options. Either finish season 1 and jump straight into the movie. Or watch the first 2 episodes of season 2 and then watch the movie. I figured out there's a 3rd option: watch season 2 episodes 1-7 and you basically watched the movie. My friend, who is going to start the series is confused about this, because she said she would only watch the seasons, but not the movie. And that's where I was like Now see you gotta watch it bc it's part of the plot. This is actually important to the story. You cannot skip the movie. And if she did, she'd miss out on the best Hashira besides Tapioca. I went into the series blind, which is honestly the way I like it (unless there's like sexual assault/abuse...then I would appreciate a huge heads up). My friend is going into it with a lot of information but she's having a problem with processing it. Hopefully, I am explaining things better. It is a very good series and I hope she's able to get into it. That way, our friend group can like bond over a series we've all watched.

If there are things I haven’t listed you want to talk about go ahead and ask, the worst I can say is no, and trust me I won’t judge. Most of my no stuff is just because I can’t portray the reasons behind it correctly why someone would like it.

I do strongly suggest if you have preferred characters to use, is to send me a short paragraph of their general personality. I usually can understand them from that. If it’s NSFW and I don’t understand something about a certain kink I will ask. If you have a certain way you want the story to go, I suggest writing a plot summary in the form of bullet points. It doesn’t have to be really detailed unless you want it. I will ask if I have to. I will send a rough draft for approval before the final draft is complete. I also would like if you could provide a drawn ref sheet or a written description of any characters involved.

I reserve the right to use any written work I have been commissioned for as an example, though I will ask first if the commissioner wants to remain anonymous or want me to change names of characters/etc. before posting.

All my examples of furry work are older, but my current work has been in anime fandom, I still write furry it's just don't have anything recent to use.
