Looking back on my old Morzan aus, I maintain that Morzan having a redemption arc is a very fun and interesting concept because it provides a way to explore his original intentions through their transformation down the line, and I like considering the different impacts he could have had on Murtagh's life. I also stand by my decision to pair him with Brom each time because they make for the funniest couple imaginable. But I may need to go back to the idea, because I never got around to bringing it to its natural conclusion of Morzan/Selena/Brom: Alagaesia's most unhinged polycule.

Brom should have not just one, but two newly reformed ex evil henchmen lovers who he has to keep on leashes like excitable dogs because they're doing their best, but they're still way too quick to jump to murder as a potential solution to every problem they run into. And yet Morzan and Selena are also the ones to rein in Brom's absurdly convoluted and paranoid plans because their new moral compass has never once realized that part of the reason he's always going through it is because he causes himself twice as many problems as he solves. They'd be such an incredible mess, I need them together.

I just want to turn IC into a comedy about Morzan, Selena, and Brom attempting to dismantle the empire and assassinate the king without literally burning everything down in the process, while trying to raise their kids to be at least marginally less insane than them.

Puritanical views are views that fall under anti-sex, anti-kink, anti-queer, anti-science-- they all follow the same trend of "sex is bad, teaching about safe and ethical sex practices is bad, having kinks and fetishes is bad, thought crime is real, masturbation is a sin, your sexual preferences make up your value as a person, etc.". I do not tolerate any of it and very often like to make fun of those who regurgitate this kind of brain-dead rhetoric. Especially considering all the fucking studies and other info we have easy access to nowadays, people believing dumb and easily disproven things is funny but also sad as hell. Same with people believing things that directly harm them (and trust me, puritan rhetoric harms anyone.) But I've seen an influx of this hyper-conservative, somewhat reactionary ideal in queer spaces where it Especially has no place-- so it is something I am much more loudly against than some other things because it's a problem that is causing unnecessary infighting and is creating a new generation of extra self-hating assimilationists. My blog will never be a space for puritan rhetoric and I think purity culture is both stupid and harmful. Hope that answered your question.

You know when you read/watch/listen/etc to a work thats like focusing on something someone experiences as a minority written by someone/multiple people who like are part of that minority group and it suddenly becomes kind of glaring the kind of decisions that get made when someone outside of that group covers that kind of thing.

Like how in alot of stories about anti-black racism written by white writers alot of them are like unable to resist a plot twist that ACTUALLY the hatecrimes were being perpetuated by a black person this whole time!! And in like stories about LGBT struggles written by cishets theres very often a HYPOCRITICAL LESBIAN or HYPOCRITICAL GAY MAN but a super nice Working Class Straight Who Doesnt Know All The Right Words But They Have The Spirit!

Like its not always these exact kinds of choices but it is very often like that. I think it comes from a desire to be like "see its not ALL us!
