B, Explain more about how every year it's sinking in to ML about her screw ups. I agree with the anon that stated ML is spiraling like she did in 2018. It is obvious with the stalking and selfie gate last July. Now she acknowledge the pink pistol in TX. It only took 7 years. Weird. Any insider information from Nashville regarding ML or her fake marriage recently

My feeling is that Blake kept trying even after he found out about ML’s long term affair at the Grammys (same night Gwen found out about GR and his long term affair with the nanny). Blake didn’t end the marriage then (and neither did Gwen). But then ML stopped wearing her wedding ring, stopped thanking Blake at shows, was not trying at all. And she most likely started the affair with Anderson during the time the Southern Family album was being recorded in March or April of 2015. She was pretty openly having a relationship with another man while married to Blake. There are lots of theories and stories from OK people about July 4th 2015. It seems he found something then. Maybe that she really was in another relationship. They both played at the Greenbrier golf thing on July 4. ML and then Blake was the headliner. By all accounts they did not interact or come onto the stage with one another at all. He flew in and out without her. Timing seems to show that he filed for divorce right around then.

I think ML realizes on some level that Blake tried and tried. At the time I believe she thought that they could become a country legendary love story where they divorced, stayed friends, and eventually reunited after she had had her fun. I don’t know if that would have happened because that would require Blake sacrificing a lot more pride the. He did (which was a lot). But I’m sure ML believes it would have worked that way.

And I think Rat was barely trying also, because he was sure that they had three kids and she was Catholic and would not leave. But then Blake announced his divorce to the other coaches and two people that had chemistry they would not have acted on because they are loyal, were free to act. It’s no coincidence in my mind that Gwen announced right after Blake. They had from taping in June to early August to talked and flirt and see if there was something real there. There was. GR feels like he was the one betrayed (ridiculous asshat) because he was “trying” to work things out and it wasn’t enough for Gwen. And I think ML’s world began its slow descent into stalker crazy regret because she never considered that Blake would fall madly in love with a worldwide icon and that icon would become his whole world. And she would feel the same about him. Giddy, in love.

If someone had told ML that she would lose Blake to Gwen if she continued her affairs, I think she would have acted differently, at least for a while. She never meant to lose him forever. I think he was her best friend in a lot of ways. She commented once on thinking they were going to share custody of dogs, but that didn’t happen. She tried following Gwen to get a wedge in there. Gwen brilliantly only liked a post of hers about family, but never followed her back. It was war from then on. Pistol Annie’s retooled their account and came back only following two people… Gwen and Blake. She was so mad she was barely even hiding her crazy. But her team had effectively spun Blake and Gwen as the cheaters so they overlooked her copying Gwen’s videos and the weird follows and how she tracked down people close to them both and used them for her projects, or how she mimicked their posts, copied Gwen’s fashion. Etc etc.

ML thought Anderson would be the next big thing. Bigger than Blake (laughable) but he wasn’t. She used him as a cover but when she got him to insult Garth publicly and all that got her was her and Anderson dragged and Blake got a coveted GB collab, she dumped him and tried for the next person she thought would be a big thing. Evan. She didn’t count on Staci not folding easily. She married the cop to save face and he clearly is not into her. He is with her because she is famous and that’s it. So, now, she may be seeing how badly she messed it all up.

I just laid down pretty much my whole theory. Not saying I’m 100% correct but I think it’s a pretty good base idea at what happened. And yeah, I think she is coming with something big. Whether it works or flops, we will see. She and Marion will not let her go down professionally as easy as she does under the ugly lights (I had to get one in there). 😂

But once she is out of options, she will start writing a tell all and that tell all will paint Blake as the bad guy (and Gwen too) in very unspecific ways and with no evidence. Just enough to get headlines. When I say she was the worst thing that ever happened to Blake, I am not kidding. She will never stop.

The Man with the Watches

Originally written in 1898 as part of a series of short stories called Round the Fire. Doyle needed money to complete a house he was building in Surrey. Insert your own jokes about actors, bad movies and extensions here.

Rugby is a town in Warwickshire, 83 miles north of London. Yes, it is where the sport of rugby is named after - more specifically Rugby School, a famous private school.

Smoking areas in British trains were gradually abolished from the 1980s, the final ones going in 2005 (GNER and Caledonian Sleeper). I have a 2000 GB-wide timetable showing where smoking was still permitted. In some cases, the trigger for the ban was the move to air-conditioned stock that would result in the smoke circulating in the rest of the train.

A Gladstone bag was a rigid-framed small suitcase that could be opened into two equal halves, named as such due to its used by William Gladstone, four-time British Prime Minister, who would start his final ministry later in 1892.

The guard's van on passenger trains was generally a specific section of a carriage that also had a caged area for carrying luggage, parcels and caged small animals.

Willesden Junction is located in Harlesden, NW London. It no longer has any platforms on the West Coast Main Line, with Avanti and London Northwestern Railway trains going straight past it. Most got gangways in later refurbishments, but the Class 205 DEMU, bar one example (205205) altered in a refurbishment trial, would carry on without them until final withdrawal in 2004. Most of the survivors then promptly ended up in the hands of heritage railways.

A bunco-steerer is a swindler.

Green goodsmen operated a scam in which people were offered purportedly counterfeit notes printed using stolen plates (so appearing genuine) at a cheap price, being shown actually genuine notes in a bag. During negotiation, the bag was switched for one containing worthless goods, like sawdust or green paper. Having been duped out of real money, the victims were reluctant to report this to police as attempting to purchase fake money was illegal.

Card-sharping is cheating at cards using various means, including cutting bits of cards to mark the ones you would want. Vegas casinos frequently deliberately cut corners off used cards being sold to tourists to prevent them being snuck into their games.

Tammany refers to Tammany Hall, the corrupt political machine that had ran New York City, for much of the 19th century, leveraging support from Irish immigrants by providing them with jobs for example. It had been temporarily ousted from power after the Lexow Commission of 1894-95 into police corruption; to wit, promotions were being sold for large sums of money and officers got that through extracting protection money from brothels etc. However, it would come back in the 1898 elections and retain control with occasional breaks until 1961, when Carmine DeSapio was ousted as its leader. Travelling salespeople would carry samples or models of their products on their trips, sometimes in branded containers. This has largely become a thing of the past, but is still around.

Northumberland Avenue used to have a lot of high-class hotels, but these have mostly gone. Some were taken over for government use for a while, including by the War Office.

"Mary Jane" appears to have been a slang term for a male prostitute; Mary Jane Kelly was the final victim of Jack the Ripper.

My OCs as Flatmates, Part 1

Oh boy! You've invited a demon to your house, congratulations!

Charlie, I feel like, would be a fun roommate. I assume this is after GB II, so he'd already relatively well adjusted, but they're still... not human.

Like, my boy™ barely sleeps at all. This means that, yes, you can come to them at any time of day or night and be relatively sure that he's awake. And even if he isn't, they're not that hard to wake up and they don't get grumpy if you do wake him up. However, it also means that he might be noisy at night. Not even intentionally. But if your flat has thin walls, you'll hear them rummaging around the kitchen or taking a shower in the middle of the night. You might also be faced with some confusing situation at times because he hasn't master all situations of human behaviour yet. Also, they eat the weirdest things sometimes.

Aside from that though, he 100% has your back, no matter what happens. They're loyal as ever. Whatever you need, he's got you. Need help moving in? Charlie is strong as balls, he'll carry your stuff. Shitty ex? How do you want to give the bastard payback - are we thinking of a fake dating scenario, do you just want someone to come with you somewhere just in case, do you want them beaten up, humiliated...? Charlie will probably also curse and/or haunt the ex, let's be honest.

Also, he's a literal (former) Ghostbuster. If you get a nightmare or think you're cursed or haunted or something, he'll take you seriously. Or any irrational fear, really, because they've seen a lot of things and are willing to believe a lot of things. Charlie will probably go through the routine Ghostbuster questionnaire with you to determine if it's a ghost or not and what kind of ghost and then go from there. They'll cheer you up and make you feel safe before confronting the specter. Even if you accidentally summoned a demon or something, Chandrah is also a demon, it'll deal with it.

Depending on whether you know that Charlie is secretly a demon or not, you might also see them floating around sometimes and he'll use his demonic powers for tasks or to help you. It's normal. They might even show you their demonic form if you ask nicely.

Definitely would want to spend a lot of time with you. He's a bit clingy but understands if you need some space. Would also be fine with just coexisting in the same room as you if you don't have the time or energy to do anything special.

As to how you got into this flatshare situation, I'm pretty sure that Charlie would've put out the ad and it's his house/apartment. Charlie, being a demon and (former) Ghostbuster, is pretty rich and would be able to afford living on their own, but they want a flatmate because they feed off human affection and they get bored when they're alone for too long. He probably didn't put his name in the ad because he is more or less famous and you probably wouldn't figure out it's them until you come over to take a look at the apartment before deciding if you want to move in. But they're super nice and humble about their Ghostbusters experiences and will be really glad to share stories with you. A baseline belief in the paranormal is probably a requirement for living with him though.

We're assuming a Planetary Union context here and not just Raevyn somehow dropping in on our present day. Probably, you're both studying at Union Point.

One thing that needs to be very clear to you and that she tells you right away is that you will have very little privacy. She can't help it, she's a telepathic species and she's gonna know all of your secrets sooner or later. You can't really keep anything from her.

BUT this also means that she knows exactly what's wrong when you're down and how to help you and you best believe she'll do it. She's there to comfort you, whenever, wherever. Has your routines memorized after a few weeks, knows your comfort foods and shows, adapts to your needs really well.

Generally, Raevyn is really considerate but, like with any flatmate, you'll also have to deal with some nonsense from her. Since this is her Union Point era, she's gonna have quite a few crushes and partners, and you might have to deal with a good bit of relationship drama. Not an obscene amount, but definitely more than average. She also probably forgets to do the dishes every once in a while. Just remind her to do them and it's all good.

Activities! Don't expect to go to the pool or the beach with her, she's still in her phase where she's hiding her aquatic heritage. But aside from that, she's down for pretty much anything. She'd love to learn about your culture and show you hers and meet your friends and have you meet hers and... But she's also down for more relaxing activites like bord games or video games or movies or just talking. Would also be a pretty good study buddy.

Raevyn would be the best person to have as backup if you want to go on a date but you're kinda worried about it and the person seems sketchy. My girl is ready to beat anyone up for you, whether that be verbally or physically. She's also a walking taser, so she could end the conflict before it even started if you don't want a scene. Would also teach you martial arts if you want. Generally, she has a lot of relationship drama herself, so she definitely understands yours. You can gush about your crushes and cry about breakups together.

Also! Raevyn is quite literally the least problematic person when it comes to gender identities and sexuality and whatnot. It's in her culture to know that everyone's mind and feelings work differently and being attracted to different things is normal and gender is an infinite spectrum. The idea that there could be only two sexes and genders and that anything that isn't heterosexuality is a sin or something is completely wild and offensive to her. Personally, she's bisexual and will also 100% go to pride parades and festivals with you, even if she doesn't fully understand the history and mentality behind them. She would also do really well with neurodivergency, disability and other similar things. Do you know that situation where you're really frustrated at people just not understanding that you can't do a thing because you have no spoons left? This will never happen with Raevyn. Because she knows. She understands. She might not be neurodivergent or experience something similar but, because she's a telepath, she understands what you're going through and will adapt accordingly as much as she can.

Oh boy, this is actually gonna be a bit tough to answer, because... well, first of all, this means that you're in the Mario Universe. Funky shenanigans. Maybe you got Mario Movie style isekai-ed into it? (Disclaimer: I haven't actually watched the movie.) Either way, Sherry probably wasn't planning on having a flatmate but would gladly take you in.

The thing is, Sherry is a princess and was raised with the knowledge that she is a princess. But she wasn't raised at the palace, she was raised in some cottage in the middle of nowhere. Generally, living with her would be weird but fun. Because she's very kind and all but she has some quirks. For one, her sister is literally the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and she's next in line for the throne. But Sherry couldn't care less about royal formalities and whatnot and doesn't really spend time around the palace. Still, you'll notice. If you go anywhere together, the attention will be on her and you'll be overlooked. As such: Don't think about throwing a joined birthday party. You might get an amazing cake from Princess Peach and a whole lot of famous people will be there, but it will no longer be your day. It's about her now.

Also, the whole kidnapping situation? Sherry's sister Peach constantly gets kidnapped by a guy and Sherry somehow works for the guy? Like, she babysits his son or something? Awkward...

What this means though is that, should you ever get in trouble with some evil forces or the King of the Koopas, Sherry has your back. Either she'll solve the issue herself or she'll get the Mario Brothers on the case. No problem.

Anyways, back to everyday situations: I feel like Sherry is a no nonsense sort of person (well, as much as you can be in the Mushroom Kingdom) and probably likes things to be in order, so if you leave your dishes out in the kitchen or whatnot, she won't be happy. But she's also the type who'll say something if she doesn't like something, so you won't get stuck in a silent war or anything. Also, she's not the type to hold grudges. See the "working for the guy who kidnaps her sister" situation. Whatever mistakes you make, she'll forgive you. Also, you'll never have financial troubles! She's a princess, she's rich, and she'll lend you money if you need it.

Whereas her sister likes to bake, Sherry likes to cook. You might cook together a lot if that's a thing you're into, or she'll make you homecooked meals for when you get home or just... whenever. I feel like she'd also be really good at mixing drinks, so great for when you're having parties! She also takes you kart racing, golfing, to football games, tennis, board game nights... whatever you like!

Oh yeah, Sherry also just leaves sometimes to go on an adventure or save or sister or go on vacation or whatnot, so you'll have the house to yourself a lot.

Does anyone want 345 GB of John Oliver? Because I have just spent the last couple of weeks gathering 345 GB of John Oliver, organizing and labeling everything with the original air date and show and episode titles/guest lists (honestly, that took more effort than just downloading it all), and then uploaded it to a Google Drive. A Google Drive where I get the first three months at a discounted rate, so it’ll definitely stay up as long as that. No promises after that, because the price will go up and I don’t think I can afford to pay monthly to maintain that. But I’ll see how it goes. If anyone does get this link and wants to keep what’s in it, definitely download it to your own hard drive because it won’t stay up indefinitely.

I’m not going to post the link publicly for obvious reasons, but if anyone wants this link, you just have to message me. Don’t be shy if we don’t know each other or talk on here or anything, I’m happy to share with anyone who wants it. All I ask is that you don’t share the link publicly either, that makes it more likely that it’ll stay up for as long as I keep paying the fee, at least.

This Google Drive has most things where John Oliver was a main writer and/or creator, and also appeared in it. And then it has a folder for all the acting roles he had after moving to America – so anything where he plays a character, rather than “as self”. And there’s a folder for just everything I could find from pre-move to America – panel show spots (TV and radio, though TV is just Mock the Week), radio stand-up spots, an article he wrote for The Times in 2003, videos I took off YouTube, that stand-up show he did with Andy Zaltzman that they released on The Bugle, that one time when he sat at a desk across the room from Armando Iannucci and read out fake news stories. Three different sitcoms where he appeared in one episode each, for one scene each. One time in 2001, he turned up on a sitcom that starred Ardal O’Hanlon as an alien superhero, but John’s only role was to come in for about one minute and ruin Hugh Dennis’ day. In one episode of a different 2001 sitcom, which starred Thick of It Minister and noted child pornography collector Chris Langham, John's entire role was to fuck with Robert Webb for one scene and then sit in the background of some others, looking at computers from the 90s. Is this something you would like to see? Then send me a message!

Here is a list of things that are not in my Google Drive:

- Any of his “as self” appearances, post-move to America, that aren’t in John Oliver’s own show (one where he was the host, or a writer like on The Daily Show). Interviews and other guest appearances on talk shows or podcasts – gathering all that up would take the rest of my life, so I haven’t bothered.

- Last Week Tonight season 11, after episode 1. As I write this, episode 1 is the only episode that’s out, so of course nothing past there is uploaded. As more episodes come out, I’ll try to add them, but I don’t want to commit to that, so I don’t know how much will go up.

- The stuff I haven't been able to find from his pre-America days. That means the lost section of his "as self" IMDB page, as indicated by my MS Paint yellow circle:

I have all the pre-America stuff on his IMDB page that's not in that yellow circle, so please let me know if you know where to find the lost yellow circle files.

This, which I would say has now become my biggest white whale in terms of lost John Oliver media:

A Radio 4 show from May 2005 in which John Oliver and a runner-up for the Perrier Award in 1987 talk about the election for eight episodes. With writing credits to a young Andy Zaltzman, a young Mark Watson, a slightly less young but younger than he is now Robin Ince, and a guy who was in Chris Addison's sitcom and is married to Margaret Cabourn-Smith. And some people I haven't heard of. I don't hold out a lot of hope for finding a copy of this show, but obviously, if you have a lead, do let me know.

He also did a Radio 4 sitcom about an orchestra with Lucy Montgomery and some people I've never heard of in 2004. I bet it's terrible, I'd love to hear it.

Oh, and John Oliver doesn't actually appear in this but I've heard Andy Zaltzman describe some stuff that Zaltzman and Oliver wrote for Bremner, Bird and Fortune that I've never been able to find.

Other than that, I have most things. Please send me a message if you would like access to that, you can send a non-anonymous ask if you prefer that but it just can't be anonymous because then I can't reply privately.

No one seriously considers the ms. dinner award given to the 12 women of whom mm is one, is on the same level as a Coronation??? She may wear a revenge dress, and look shockingly out of place, but there is no comparison. She has never been invited to the Met gala, the Oscars, The Emmys, a Nobel Prize Award…nothing. When they paid for a UN speech on Mandela’s birthday, about 22 people showed up (or were forced to attend by their offices) and Harry spoke to an essentially empty conference room. It was a humiliating event for the both of them. They asked to speak at conferences at the UN, they asked to attend meetings at the GA…they were given no forum. None but were effectively asked to leave when the GB found out they were filming. Later to be told it was not to be used and they were shown the door. That too was humiliating. The NY trip was a fiasco, with the most prominent tour being at the WTC museum and their photo taken with Mr&Mrs.DeBlasio and Dante their son. That was it. No crowds, nobody showed. This was followed by a visit to a Harlem School where she read a book to kids sitting on the ground with Harry while she wore a $6K red wool suit in July. Just Netflix getting film that could not be used as they had security all over but nobody stopped to see them, and an empty press pens! The recent debacle with Dr. Gabor Mate who analyzed Harry for the world to see was a serious issue. Professionals derided it as Unprofessional and simply not done. You do not analyze someone on a paid for TV video, and a book thrown in to make it worth your while. That was a fiasco as was the San Francisco event of Butter UP where the charge was $1000 for a ticket to listen to their Chimpo speak on mental health issues. Again, very few attendees and they relocated to a much smaller venue to cover expenses and seat the few who paid. Now they have bought some more awards and are now a laughingstock because of those. The ms. foundation dinner with mark-off markle hustling gloria s. to present mm with her award is being mocked. Gloria’s step son Christian Bale (the actor) is rightly getting involved as he feels this elderly woman is being manipulated by mm for her own purposes. He says he will put a stop to this before the dinner. I wish him luck, if mm has to wheel gloria out to the stage to give her the award or carry her, she will force the issue.

It’s pretty sad how far their star has fallen. We are well past scraping the bottom of the barrel for fake-it-till-you-make-it appearances.

I do believe to say all of Harry’s relationships are /were fake especially since up until Camille he was a teen/ in his early 20’ s hooking up is a Larry thing to do ! to say a woman who has been famous since 2006 and had a very famous fiance baby daddy faked a relationship with a boy 20 years younger than that man is a Larry thing to do … having said that lol I think it can’t be ignored how the thing with Taylor is too convenient he gets his fandom to stop bitching about Olivia and the gb to forget he is a home wrecker of two little children that resulted in a very two painful years for them she gets exposure. I guess I am all over the place about this because because those are real people and while I doubt they go as far as fake date for two years having said that you can’t ignore that no celebrity is being papped in Japan without wanting it or worse organizing it not to mention the very staged pictures in Italy and Toronto and the pap pictures of her in new York I don’t know I guess this is the first relationship of his I can’t see anything and it feels very fake like since when Harry Mr I have never publicly dated anyone attend his girlfriends event twice? And why since he changed his whole personality we had nothing in New York what happened? Again I don’t like conspiracies or treat those people like characters in a show but at the same time sorry not buying this

The GB News presenter has always offered a very tabloid form of support to celebrities in difficulty. They can’t desert him now

What is the most shudder-inducing tabloid tone? I think it’s probably fake sympathy. Let’s see a master of it at work. “Danny Dyer’s friends fear he could be ‘heading down the path to sex addiction’,” sympathised Dan Wootton in the Sun in 2017. The next year, pals were fearing again – this time the possibility that the late Caroline Flack may reunite with a boyfriend. “Friends fear she is preparing to give their relationship another go,” commiserated Dan. An unnamed friend apparently told him: “Nobody wants to see her hurt.” A year after that, Dan voices “fears for Ricky Hatton” after the boxer is filmed stumbling in Tenerife. A fan supposedly tells Dan: “What a fall from grace for such a great champion.”

And so to this week’s revelations, after a Byline Times story alleged Wootton offered current and former Sun colleagues large sums of money under a pseudonym in return for sexual material. The Guardian newspaper has spoken to seven such individuals, who say they were contacted by a man named Martin Branning. (Though Wootton has not denied the allegation that he was “Branning”, the Guardian has not been able to independently establish the link between Wootton and Branning. Wootton’s lawyers have, however, made a legal complaint to Byline Times’s publisher.)

Anyhow. Pals fear the GB News presenter and MailOnline columnist could be on the brink of karmageddon after a nutso opening monologue to his show on Tuesday night. For all the seriousness of the “unspeakable” criminal allegations, at which Wootton only vaguely gestured in the course of denying them categorically, this monologue was in many ways the most mesmerisingly peculiar six minutes of TV this year. They should show it at the Baftas. It was the telly equivalent of an Only God Can Judge Me tattoo.

Behold Wootton, a sideboard made of ham, with efit eyes, dropping quotable quotes so fast there was no way you could possibly digest the last one before the next one was being gnashed out through his veneers. I want to say it was like watching a washing machine play King Lear, but I think it’s somehow even more ludicrous to say it was like watching Dan Wootton play sincere.

Still, let’s go: “Smear campaign by nefarious players … like all fallible humans, I have made errors of judgment in the past … being in the middle of this witch-hunt has made me think a lot about the sort of journalist and broadcaster I aspire to be … I mean, who doesn’t have regrets? Should I be cancelled for them many years later? Or do you accept that I have learned and changed?”

No. I don’t. I’ve seen your show and I can read your columns.

“Over the past few years I have grown professionally and personally,” continued this … victim statement, is it? “And I have found the meaning of true love.” Oh man. Amazing that the serial tormentor of so many women in the public eye should attempt to make this a hymn to personal growth. I don’t think – how to put this carefully? – I don’t think that line is going to hold, sir.

All in all, the spectacle of Dan Wootton begging for nuance and empathy is the heat death of irony. The two crucial things about people like Dan is that they are, without exception, monstrous hypocrites – and they also reduce the world. Their entire business is making human experience smaller. There are about six or seven basic story templates into which they believe all other people’s lives must be squeezed, whether or not they want them to be. So to find the high priest of the reductive suddenly asking for an acknowledgment of complexity feels a little much.

Others, it should be said, are asking for different things. The Sun is asking its staff to contact its lawyers if they have any information about the “very serious” claims, and not to talk to journalists(!). MailOnline is also looking into the claims.

Are they part of the “dark forces” Wootton railed at, when he cast the whole business as an attempt to cancel GB News for being “the biggest threat to the establishment in decades”? To make it super simple for Dan: GB News is not “anti-establishment”. It is a London telly channel owned by a hedge funder and an investment firm. The deputy chairman of the governing Conservative party is one of its presenters, as is a recently knighted former cabinet minister whose father was a long-serving editor of the Times.

Amusingly, though, the Wootton story was seized on by someone soon to present his own show on GB News: John Cleese. “The mainstream press must check this out,” stated Cleese, declaring that failure to do so would be “final proof of their complete corruption”. Will John’s own fearless new employers check it out? Or is Cleese himself one of the “nefarious players” trying to cancel Dan?

A lot of threads yet to unravel, it must be said. The tabloids’ disinclination to report on the story thus far means coverage is not coming as thick and fast as it did when, say, Dan was obsessively pursuing ITV over Phillip Schofield’s affair with a much younger colleague. Or indeed when his GB News co-hosts were ranting round the clock about the BBC and Huw Edwards, only for Wootton to react to news of Edwards’s hospitalisation with a poll asking “is this a crisis of the BBC’s making?”.

As we wait for developments, then, perhaps convention demands we ask: is this current situation a crisis of Dan Wootton’s making? I think the answer would have to be … friends fear so.

Our Life Mini Moment - Christmas Shopping

In the spirit of the season, here is a little bit of Christmas-themed fluff with a teenage Cove and Jamie from Our Life: Beginnings & Always, set between steps 2 and 3.

Christmas time in southern California didn’t match up with the traditional image of the season touted in TV shows and movies. Instead of blankets of snow covering the ground in pearly white, there was green grass and sunny days that rarely got nippy enough to require a sweater. Still, most houses and businesses got into the spirit of the season, stringing up lights along the edges of buildings, as well as the occasional palm tree as a substitute for the traditional pine.

The mall especially went overboard when it came to decorating for the holiday season. Red, green, and white practically dominated the décor, with some stores lining their windows with fake snow and icicles to give a true ‘winter’ feeling. Christmas music rang out through every nook and cranny, and there was no place to look without seeing some colorful poster reminding shoppers that there were only so many days left to shop before Christmas arrived.

For as noisy, gaudy, and crowded it could get during this time of year, Jamie still enjoyed browsing around the mall, taking in the sights of the season. Even something as hectic as shopping for Christmas gifts was nicer for the surroundings. What made it even more enjoyable was sharing the experience with her partner.

Jamie turned away from a waving inflatable Santa in time for Cove to finish his transaction with the cashier. “Ready to go?” she asked once he stepped away from the line.

“Yeah, all set,” Cove said as he looped his newest bag onto his arm to go with the others. He beamed, his sunny smile sparkling brighter than the decorations around them. “That was the last gift I needed. I’m ready for Christmas.”

“That’s great,” Jamie said brightly as she looped her arm around Cove’s, mindful of the bags they were carrying.

Cove let out a pleased hum at the close contact even as a blush graced his cheeks. “What about you?” he asked once they left the store behind. “Did you get everything you wanted?”

Jamie was quiet for a moment before letting out a sigh and shaking her head. “I’ve still got to get a gift for my aunt and uncle.” Another sigh escaped her, one more put upon and overly dramatic as she flopped her head against Cove, her cheek squishing against his shoulder. “I have no idea what to get them.” She let out a small huff. “What do you get for the couple that has everything and enough money to buy it all over again?”

Cove chuckled softly at his girlfriend’s theatrics, though he caught hints of real frustration underneath it all. He readjusted his hold on his bags so that he could give the arm she wrapped around his a gentle pat. “It’ll be okay. Some store is bound to have something they’ll like.”

Jamie looked up at Cove, her cheek still smushed against him. “I hope so.” She straightened up, her exaggerated drama fading to a more genuine concern. “It might take a while though, and it’s already getting pretty late. How are you holding up?”

“I’m okay,” Cove said. Though his answer was sincere, he had to admit that spending an entire day dealing with a crowded mall full of frazzled shoppers was slowly wearing him down. The only reason he lasted so long was likely because of the special person by his side the entire time. “How about you?”

“I’m okay too, except for this present thing,” Jamie said before letting out a quiet sigh as she spotted a nearby clock on the wall. “Elizabeth is probably going to be meeting up with us soon. I’ll probably have to ask her to bring me back here tomorrow, or see if one of my moms can do it.”

Getting around without a driver’s license was rough, but Jamie still had a couple more weeks before she turned sixteen. Even then, it didn’t mean she was necessarily going to get her license on her birthday, and it might be a while longer after that before she could start driving herself around to various places. Cove had recently turned sixteen, but he wasn’t too keen on getting a license of his own yet. He didn’t feel quite ready to drive, needing more time to mentally prepare himself for all the responsibility and risks it entailed. This meant that the two of them still depended on others to give them rides if they wanted to go someplace outside of walking distance from home.

“I don’t mind coming back with you to help you finish your shopping,” Cove said as he offered Jamie a gentle smile.

Jamie relaxed a little at the reassurance and returned the smile with one of her own. She had been hoping Cove would keep her company if she had to come back to the mall, and she gave his arm a gentle squeeze. “Thanks. You’re the best partner ever.”

The praise and affection sent Cove’s pulse racing, and he faltered for a moment, stammering out half words before he could manage a response. “I’m not… you’re the one who’s so…” He trailed off as he found himself tongue tied and red faced, fumbling for a way to put into words just how amazing Jamie was to him.

Despite his fumbling, Jamie still received the message loud and clear. Her gaze softened with affection, and she stepped closer to press her lips against his. The kiss was brief, but wonderful, and for the moment they lost themselves in it, the crowd around them practically melting away to leave the pair in their own little world.

When the kiss ended, a soft, happy sigh escaped Cove, and for a moment he had to stop to admire the flecks of light that sparkled in Jamie’s dark blue eyes, a glittering sight that put all the Christmas decorations around them to shame. As tempting as it was to simply stay lost in her eyes, he knew that their time was running short. “Come on,” he said. “Let’s try to squeeze in one more store before Elizabeth comes to drag us home.” He forced himself to look away, scanning the area for any places that looked promising. “How about that one?”

Jamie looked to where Cove nodded his head and spotted the store he indicated - a rather sizable gift shop full of many miscellaneous items for various occasions. It seemed promising. “Okay, let’s go.”

Wednesday, March 8th Coco shoves Dinah during the argument between the engines and the coaches Dinah playfully slaps Pearl's butt at the beginning of Ich Bin Ich The coaches have glittery parts of their costumes! Dinah and Pearl have sparkly fabric for the straps under their knee pads Terence Caboose is REALLY REALLY amazing with his acting choices In Freight, Rusty loses control of both coaches and freight and looks very panicked Terence flips his hat back onto his head so smoothly 10/10 When coupling up for the first race, Turnov points to BV and makes a motion as if to say hurry up! Then takes off so quickly that Bee has trouble grabbing his couplers Alexandra covered Volta and gave some cool female Volta vibes Gary was very very Purse-like with his performance during Pearl Welche Ehre - but did some signature Krupp spins in AC/DC! A nice balance of the two! When the other components join Pumping Iron, KW freaks out because Elektra is FUSSY Flat Top is trying to imitate the Rockies' dance moves during Momma's Blues and fails so badly Belle throws up at the end of heat 2 - no drinking and racing kids KW freaks out again when Pearl leaves Elektra for Greaseball - he is so anxious about his job, poor Watt Terence sang the 2nd verse of Mein Spiel first, by accident but he saved it well! TerryBee did fun CB move Overall such INCREDIBLE acting, amazing Mein Spiel When Dinah disconnects Elektra, he's freaking out - but Bee is already there and Elektra kinda just….sighs okay fine can you help me Bee: >:D One rock and roll too many…. Idiot sandwich <3 Coco cocks her shoulder box when telling off Pearl before Für Immer When everyone comes back out onstage post love-song, GB is going after Elektra but Elektra SHOVES him away. BV laughs, Elektra holds up a finger to him as if to say: "shut up. You caused this."

Thursday, March 9th Trax bapped Carrie on the back of the head during bye bye Rusty During the argument, Ruhr seems to just be playfully playing along, but he has a kind smile and tips his hat to Carrie Beginning of Ich Bin Ich - Turnov offers Espresso a shot of vodka and Espresso does NOT like it Manga and Ruhr also sharing a snack. Manga offers Ruhr an alcoholic drink as well, maybe sake Belle has two barrettes in her hair, one is shaped like bottle openers and the other is shaped like bottle caps Beginning of Freight, Flat Top squares up to Dinah and she snaps his suspenders Rockies imitate Bee's "fake news" gesture - Rocky 2 gets it wrong and Rocky 1 shows him, "no, he does it like this" When the trains malfunction as a result of Elektra's presence, Bee does a silly little robot dance Dinah and BV talking/gossiping at the beginning of AC/DC No Pyro at beginning of Pumping Iron Jae Volta squatted like a hoe in pumping iron actually jae volta was slutty all week Ida Brexit is a grandpa and I love him. Friday, March 10th Technical difficulties with the door where the nationals enter! it got fixed fairly quickly <3 naruto run in rolling stock my beloved Ida brexit walk like afraid of cockroach Luuk Espresso sounds so italian even when singing in german GB pokes and prods Pearl when he brings her in He plays with her ponytail, she is not amused I LOVE MEZZO PEARL (Dieuwke) Kai Bee tips his hat to Carrie <3 For some reason, Elektra's gear lights weren't working until Race 1 today Ryan can play Espresso and Turnov, and THAT is what i call great vocal range Rocky 2 was ready to throw hands with Rusty for insulting Momma! Dustin flinched when Momma yelled NEINA Dustin waves shyly behind Momma during the race 2 introduction Espresso grabs Carrie's skirt tassels instead of her couplers and pats her ass RuhrCarrie moments! He spun her around Both Elektra and BV injure Pearl in the final race - Elektra electrocutes her and BV baps her at some point Saturday, March 11th and Sunday, March 12th Cole Greaseball has such power behind his voice! Incredible acting choices! GB didn't fade into the background this time, I genuinely enjoyed Cole so much more! Brexit/Turnov disappear sometime between taunting Rusty and the beginning of Ich Bin Ich due to split track Rocky 3 and Flat Top The other coaches are a little miffed that Rusty interrupted her but Carrie shrugs and is like oh okay :) Since Turnov is not available for Pumping Iron due to a split track, they replace him with TerryBee and he dances with Carrie! The coaches all take shots at the beginning of coda of freight to prepare for the race super quick change from Flat Top to Turnov for Race 1! Even if turnov is not there when they are all coupling up for race one, Bee and GB still have a moment where they establish they have a deal and I like that detail KW scans Pearl's face during the beginning of Pumping Iron (Elektra maybe already made it clear that he wanted her as a race partner?) Flat Top shows up halfway into Momma's blues due to split track Momma and R2 have a little fistbump after saying rusty is blind Rocky3 raising her hand like MEEE after Momma asks for Rocky to race with her. the other two scold her Carrie looks so excited to win the second heat with Ruhr! Delano Rusty is so ready to square up with Greaseball after race 3 Delano is the only one who acts properly injured after the crash/gang beat up, chugging back before right place right time I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW THE LIFT WORKS. there is indeed a back portion that supports Rusty by the waist as he's lifted into the air Carrie waves to Bee before the final race and BrandiBelle chastises her Cole GB acts like a ballerina in one rock and roll and it's hilarious Rocky 3 is the one who disconnects Bee, Elektra, and GB from the train before the final scene! Brandi and Bee share a drink before Light at the End of the Tunnel

Tried posting this yesterday but Tumblr was having none of it. A third reason or rather the first reason the week before last was HR related was cause I grabbed this beauty. My name is not Lisa but I can work with this. After all the fakes, misses, tempting costly ones but still not what I really wanted and two really tempting Aykroyd ones I held out. I was really close to buying an Aykroyd (with all the GBs in the photo) but wanted to wait for a Harold even though I did not think one would show soon. Good thing cause three days later I got an authentic signed Harold. Considering how rare the Ramis is and expensive I got lucky. Lucky with timing, price, seller, photo and autograph! It may have a smudged R and mark but it is still stunning. And it has his lovely smile. 🥰

Oh, the mark I am talking about is not the one showing in the photo. Glare from the flash. You can hardly see the real mark unless you get close.

There is a post going around about the HBO disaster and making your own DVDs. There is a lot of misinformation here that can be confusing, wasteful and even dangerous.

Please take this seriously, your safety and privacy are important. I know millennials are cringe or whatever but some of us have been doing this kind of thing for decades now.

This HBO thing will happen again and so it's a good idea not to rely on streaming.

To get started, always use a VPN. ProtonVPN is supposedly a very good free option and I trust them since ProtonMail is excellent. Also maybe use an ad blocker like uBlock.

Get familiar with torrents, they aren't as daunting as they seem. I recommend BiglyBT personally as my torrent application.

I have had great success with these four sites (only use these addresses, there are fakes out there):

Movies are fairly straightforward, go for files around 1-2 GB. Shows can be searched like Show Title s01e01 (season 1, episode 1 etc.) and can also come in collections if you search Show Title Season 1. These files will be smaller than films at around 300MB each depending on runtime.

The best way is to have your torrent application installed and use the magnet links for downloads. It will look like a most of the time. This will open the files directly in your app. Follow any instructions on screen and you're on your way.

Now that you've got your files, now you can simply use VLC to play them! However, I recommend using Plex because it organizes all your movies and shows and adding subtitles can be automatic and much more. There are many guides on YouTube.

I would use your money to buy an external hard drive instead of discs or burners. 2-4TB drives are around $50 (especially in the discount season ahead) and can hold hundreds and even thousands of movies.

Using all of this information you can have your content anytime you want it, stream to all of your smart devices and you can even set up a remote server in Plex when you're away from home.

Again, please do not use sketchy websites, please be careful. I know people are trying to help but please look for people that are more knowledgeable and especially those that take your safety and anonymity seriously.

Bonus: since OP on that post didn't seem to understand much about DVDs on their DVD burning post.

DVD-R is the older burning tech and DVD+R is the more modern one. DVD+RW is rewritable. There are Dual Layer DVDs and a lot of other factors to consider when trying to make DVDs work in standard players.
