Wow, it’s really something to see everyone remember Goncharov! Similarly, does anyone remember The Marmoset Chronicles? In 1970, auteur director Laz Patillo created the first entry in what would eventually becoming an 8-movie empire of action, science fiction and surreal expressionism, with cultural impact that would go on to define filmmaking and pop culture for decades to come. Somehow, The Marmoset Chronicles is relatively forgotten today, despite the enormous impact it had - including on Scorsese! 

Even as the world forgets, Moonshot remembers. In 2020, we produced The Marmoset Chronicles: A Personal Retrospective, where hosts Jay Petrequin and Kirsten Meehan spend 20 episodes talking about these movies, from The Phantom and the Wren all the way to The Plot, the Paper, and the Place We End Up. We also talk about the series’ generations of cultural relevance in early internet forum culture, its role in the Satanic Panic movement, and many more. These movies have a 50-year lineage, and Kirsten and Jay do their best to represent the very real, very factual footprint that The Marmoset Chronicles has left on the world.

Guillotina was a modified version of a guillotine, used for execution in the monarchal days of the pokemon world. It is said that the inclusion of Giratina likeness in a guillotine would gain them positive regards from the pokemon itself.

However, there are no elements of religion or sacrifice present in records, so some poke-scientists chose to believe it was a movement to gain Giratina's attention to get justice on the one sending people to it.

It still feels very...off to me. #The noise filter helps retain some of the texture I find digital lacks! More experimentation needed though. #Original draft for their costumes was 'Groom of Hanguang-jun' and 'Bride of The Yiling Lazou'. #Y'know; like those 'bride of Frankenstein' and 'Frankenstein's monster' sort of couple costumes. #Their costumes now are 'Well educated lady with land someone wants (and it's the 1600s)' and 'Werebunny'. #Every costume wwx ever puts on has a full backstory and lore to it. Even if its just a hat and fake mustache. #Okay I'm on break NOW. I will return when my long comic is done.

you know, it’s funny. this has all the TRAPPINGS of a life series game. it’s got a “secret life” name. it’s got all the same players. it’s go the countdowns, the colorful statements… but in rules, it’s not one. the logo doesn’t even have the three colors bit on it; the logo doesn’t even look like it’s in the same font. and why would it be? the concept of green, yellow, and red lives is gone entirely. the idea of a “bloodlust” role is gone. the idea of LIVES is gone, even—you only have one!

this has all the TRAPPINGS of a sanctioned life series game, but it’s missing the core elements of what made the life series the life series in the first place.

I hc that iterators that has major religious roles to their colony would be given an ancient mask as a sign of 'equality'. [Continued hc rambles below the cut]

Ancients would consider iterators their creations, therefore beneath them in a way, so giving them masks means they are seen as equal to Ancients. Because only someone of higher standing would take such influencial role.

Both Sliver and Suns took the role of priests to their colony so they have their own masks and ceremonial robes.

Suns in their early days as a young iterator almost leaned fully to the role of a singular religious leader until Omni stepped in. They still served as a priest though not as... intensely as before.

By the time younger gen iterators were made, Suns has considerably mellowed down and would only wear their mask and ceremonial robes when necessary. Now with the Ancients gone they don't really acknowledge it.

Pines seems to enjoy the fact that with the mask on, they and parent can match!
