"They didn't actually burn the Mona Lisa, the real one is made of wood, not paper, like in the film!! Of course they wouldnt have given miles bron the real one!!"
Yeah...they didn't burn the real Mona Lisa...because it's a movie. Another thing is that paper might just look better than wood when it burns on film. Not only that, but it's very realistic that miles would have obtained the real one. Rich people buy one of a kind, priceless art all the time, just because they believe they have that right.
Also, in the context of the film, it had to be the real Mona Lisa; Helen's plan wouldn't work if it turned out to be a fake. Miles would never always be mentioned in the same breath as the Mona Lisa if the real one didn't burn.
I'm sorry if this makes people uncomfortable but in the Rian Johnson cinematic universe, the real Mona Lisa has been reduced to ashes.

Idk what you're all on about. Goncharov is a real movie?? Zepotha is fake as fuck we all know that, but I thought we've all seen Goncharov???? I've seen Goncharov?????? I will never forget the pure cinema changing power the last scenes had on me as I sat listening to Lacrimosa as the credits started to roll. I WILL NEVER FORGET.

*glass onion spoilers ahead*
i just finished watching so i came onto tumblr to see what everyone else thought and it looks like there’s this prevailing fan theory in which the mona lisa was a fake (cause the real one is painted on wood and the one in the movie was canvas). which really adds another layer (ha) to how much of an idiot miles bron is, but i do feel that it cheapens the ending of the movie a little bit? in the beginning miles bron was talking about the whole “are you willing to break the thing that nobody wants you to break” which in this case is the mona lisa. the mona lisa burning is the commupance of his vanity and ego, it is the thing that will ruin him beyond repair. having the actual mona lisa be destroyed highlights how in attempts to accrue more wealth, power, and prominence, billionaires cause harm that cannot be undone.

“WOW! You swim like a fish!” 🦎💕🐢
Y’all remember that 1987 episode “Raphael Meets His Match” right?? I think about it so often. Please nickelodeon give us season 3 so we can potentially see a Rise Mona Lisa for our big softie 🥺
Used my version of Mona and based it off this image⬇️

i’m gonna disagree on the “they gave him a fake mona lisa” text post because then the whole “you’ll be mentioned in the same breath as the mona lisa” plotline kinda loses impact. if it was a fake mona lisa, miles won’t get into any “real” trouble (other than the pr nightmare of his energy invention thing blowing up his own house)

I know the suspension of disbelief is important and all but people picking tiny unintended details or goofs and exploring how they interacts with the themes is not the issue, it's just a different way to enjoy things. It's only a problem if it stops being fun and starts being an actual critique

did some calculations and determined that, somehow, against all odds, the loneliest time is in fact my favorite thing carly has released. It’s incredible but it seems to have happened
