Does anyone know what these...little huts are? I've played this game a million and twelve times, and I've still never figured out what they are. I keep flipping between dog houses to really tiny shelters for people that were maybe just improperly scaled by the game devs.
But now that I'm thinking about it, and since these are in the Fallow Mire where a plague killed the entire village, I'm thinking they're actually grave markers? And they look like that bc they're based in Fereldan tradition or something? I have no idea, and I've never seen a codex entry for them.
Some statues in the Fallow Mire are of Avvar Origin. It amused Bann Hargrave to bring them back from her conquests in the hills and plant them outside her home, the way a gardener might transplant flowers. The Bann entertained visiting nobles by giving tours of the statues, regaling her guests with dark tales of Avvar superstitions, which she mostly made up on the spot.
The Fallow Mire. Undead in the water, missing soldiers held captive, and a dumbass abomination who’s come to associate the feel of wild water with the sensation of freedom. Surely nothing can go wrong.
Then he gets thrown into the water by a charging bogfisher. The wraith did it, honest.
A little 1k word fic I pounded out in half an hour last night.
I guess it's time to fall off shit in the desert, get soaked on the coast, and wander through some swamps as I return to Thedas to get some loot, find some Grey Wardens, and rescue some soldiers.
When I first played DAI, it was on a tv with brightness turned down low. I could barely see anything, so when I went to the Fallow Mire, it was a lot of wandering in near-darkness. I accidentally attacked several Bogfishers (aiming for undead), which kicked my party’s ass. Since I couldn’t see, I thought I was fighting a boss demon or blood mage, but I later realized they were just gentle Bogfishers!
