Fandom decided to make Remus a hyper-masculine dom, and for some reason, this involved stripping him of all of his kindness and softness in the process. Because I guess a character cannot be gentle and kind AND masculine. Only fem characters are allowed to have a character trait as soft as kindness.
If that wasn't bad enough, they also stripped him of any flaw that could be perceived as emasculating. His well-established avoidance and cowardice? His insecurity and passivity? His people pleasing tendencies and self-loathing? His devotion to Dumbledore and his deep admiration (and perhaps envy) for James and Sirius? All gone. Doesn't exist. Fanon Remus is the coolest, smartest, bravest, and most capable of all the Marauders.
Even his appearance was completely altered to ensure that Fanon Remus is just oozing with raw, unfiltered masculinity. This is a topic I am especially heated about as someone who is chronically ill. I relate deeply to Remus because I see my own struggles in the ways his Lycanthropy affects him. It makes him sickly and pallid, he is described as thin and worn down, both from the effects of the disease itself and later from the struggle of keeping himself fed and housed due to the stigma surrounding it.
But Fanon Remus? He's huge. He's buff. He towers over everyone else around him, intimidating and aloof with a cigarette hanging idly between his lips for optimum sex appeal. He is so strong, with his broad shoulders and his rock hard abs, and his Lycanthropy just makes him super fucking aggressive and horny around the full moon. He can lift Sirius up over his head with one arm. He's the Casanova, everyone wants him because he's just so hot and so cool. The fact that he is a werewolf only serves to elevate his primal, masculine allure.

I think some Fandoms kinda have a bias against black and brown characters unfortunately, it’s disappointing. There always seems to be less attention paid to the black and brown characters
Yeah... I know that's exactly the reason why, even if some are unaware of it themselves. I mean, I've seen how people in the bg3 fandom treat Wyll. But both him and my boy Maximus deserve all the love, damn it!

Blood Purity and the ASOIAF Fandom
I find it very ironic how Targaryen antis scream about "blood purity" then turn around and support and play into blood purity themselves. Specifically I'm talking about Stark stans and stansas/jonsas.
The Starks canonically prefer to marry with Northern houses, in other words: other First Men. This tradition gives them a rather small gene pool, meaning that incest is pretty much a necessity for them to carry it on. Uncle-niece, aunt-nephew, and cousin weddings were all allowable, and cousin weddings were rather commonplace.
What all that means is that the Starks practice blood purity. Yes, it's different from how the Targaryens did it, but the only differences are that the Valyrians allowed brother-sister marriages and there are only two other Valyrian houses to marry. The Celtigars barely even count, due to how little Valyrian blood is left in them. Both the Starks and Targaryens did marry outside their preferred gene pools. However, that fact doesn't negate that they both practice blood purity.
Stark stans who condemn the Targaryens for marrying to preserve their Valyrian blood are hypocrites. The Starks prefer to marry other First Men and allow certain forms of close incest, if they had as few options as the Targaryens did, they would probably change their views on brother-sister marriages.
Stansas tend to follow the same patterns as Stark stans. They ignore Stark incest and talk about "super special Stark genes" in an almost cult-like fashion. Stansas will go on and on about how the Starks are very special and their (specifically Sansa's) blood is the key to saving the world. Now, there is magic blood in ASOIAF, and the Starks are the one of the families with this. However, the sheer hypocrisy of Stansas and Stark stans to embrace and cheer on this fact for the Starks while simultaneously despising the Targaryens for the same fact is interesting.
Jonsas, who are all stansas just to be clear, are probably the most hypocritical in this group. Jonsa shippers will espouse both anti-incest and anti-blood purity arguments, especially in regards to the Targaryens. However, at the same time, they will write posts about how the incest between Jon and Sansa wouldn't be wrong and how Stark blood is superior. Just like the Stark stans and stansas, they are unironically supporting Stark blood purity. All three of these groups will also write about how the Targaryen bloodline needs to be wiped out.
So basically: Stark stans, stansas, and jonsas all not only support Stark blood purity, but also the eradication of Valyrian blood in Westeros. The hypocrisy is riveting.

re: 353 you are right of course. Obviously steddyhands would not plausibly make a single one of the characters happy, ESPECIALLY not Izzy. There's a lot of things open to interpretation about Izzy but his ideal relationship obviously does not involve two guys who cannot stop doing insufferable in-jokey improv bits with each other. He would hate it if they ignored him to do that and he would hate it even more if they made any attempt to involve him in it. Even if he managed to get to a place where he could have healthy friendships with both Ed and Stede individually he would find spending time around their couple dynamic to be unbearably annoying.
But the point of steddyhands isn't to make any of the characters happy, at least not in the sense of actually exploring what any one of them brings to a relationship with the others. The point of steddyhands is to correct a perceived flaw in the narrative of ofmd.
That flaw of course is the fact that Izzy's whiteness and masculinity did not afford him protagonist status like it's supposed to. People are so used to narratives centering whiteness and centering gender-conforming masculinity on such a deep level that they're not even conscious of that being why Izzy's supporting character status feels like such a deep and visceral wrongness to them; all they know is that it has to be corrected.
They see that the narrative of OFMD focuses on Stede and on Ed and on Stede and Ed's love for each other, and so the only way to give Izzy the protagonist status he deserves without changing what the story is about is to involve Izzy in that love and focus the attention of both Ed and Stede on him, just like the narrative's attention ought to be focused on him. The fact that this wouldn't logically make Izzy happy is beside the point: it would bring a sense of rightness to the story, so it simply has to be what would make Izzy happy too by giving him the narrative status that is his by right.

that meme where the person puts a stick between the spokes of the bike wheel causing them to crash but it's dsmp fans who wanted the 'real' finale wondering why it never happened when they were the ones boycotting the dsmp and failing to have the attention span to read a few dms to understand they were spreading false allegations.

"Turtle human designs. There’s so many good turtles human designs, but honestly I don’t get why people hate on a design just cuz they make them white Asians. Like, if it’s not black then people hate on it. I support the idea of the turtles being black, but some people make some really cool designs based on their Asian blood and people just decide that they're being R4cist just cuz they didn’t draw them black."

apropos of nothing, i remember when a former friend tried to say that dream isn't queer despite me pointing to the multiple times he's come out including saying 'i'm not straight' and 'i'm on the lgbt spectrum somewhere'.
it really is exceptions all the way down, huh.

You are so correct. As someone else who is also chronically ill, I don't understand how fandom managed to take lycanthropy, a chronic illness, and turn it into something that makes you huge and strong and buff and horny. I can only conclude that none of these people have ever been ill in their lives, because that is NOT how it works.
Thank you!! It drives me insane the way this fandom pretends to be so progressive and subversive and yet the undertones are SO fucking ableist and comphet??? And yet I'm the one who is ableist for not vibing with the mainstream angry characterization of Remus (or so I have been told many, many times by Fanon Remus stans).
Lycanthropy in canon isn't the best chronic illness rep, but it has so much potential that we could expand on. Instead, fandom fetishized it. Remus' chronic illness gives him superpowers now and makes him huge and muscular with a cock to match. I just can't understand how so many people are blind to the blatant ableism in these headcanons.

So, just curious how many writers and creators will have to be forcibly outed by relentless harassment before we acknowledge that "This queer characters was written by a cishet person and that's why they're bad" is not good criticism.

HEY, #356.
I'm not going to be nice to people who hounded an industry insider off social media with doxxing threats because they can't cope with legitimate criticism of their fundraising campaign, or routinely send abusive and lowkey evil messages to a trans man on tumblr who has the temerity to post about not liking their blorbo. Or people making the cast and creatives uncomfortable during Wee John lives bc they can't cope with not everything being about Izzy. Or people who defend and excuse that shit happening in the fandom. The seedier elements of the canyon AND those who take up for them and make excuses for them need to be told to fucking grow up and learn how to behave, not have their hands held while we all sing kumbaya, my dude (gn).

Why is it that brainrotted fandom idiots will go "fandom is a space for FREAKS and WEIRDOS it's not your safe space 😡😡😡 if you don't like it you can LEAVE 😤😤😤" but then when someone asks them to stop treating black people in fandom spaces like shit they're all suddenly like "but ummmmm it's my safe space 🥺 the real world is mean and scary this is the only place I can go 🥺 racist harassment is my coping mechanism why won't you let people enjoy things 🥺"
