Reusing my artwork to grab attention, sorry lol

There's no fluffy/friendship fanfiction starring Morgana and that upsets me because I like it when cute, yet haughty characters have moments of emotional vulnerability, followed by assurance that they're loved by their friends despite their apparent flaws.
I mostly wanna see Joker and Mona hug it out and be bros, okay? ;-;

being a fanfic writer with adhd is wild because you be like "okay there's this one fic that I have all planned out and that I'm halfway done with writing and that has a lot more kudos and comments than any of my other fics, so I should finish writing that" and then your brain is like "hmmmm what if instead you started writing 200 words for 10 other fics with niche AUs that you're never gonna finish and never gonna post? :D"
(lmk if you'd wanna see a couple hundred words of a botw AU based on the rp game Stray Gods, where Link can turn the world into a musical for a few minutes mkayyyy)

not trying to put anyone on blast, but this is exactly the kind of interaction that fanfic writers and fanartists on this site are begging you to move away from. this isn't tiktok or instagram or twitter, where engagement is driven by likes and replies. if you like something on tumblr you need to REBLOG it so it gets spread around! 50% of the reblogs on the post this comment is replying to are from me, the original poster!! because no one reblogs anything on this site anymore! you like it, awesome! now reblog it! otherwise the post I made, the fanwork I spent hours/days making, just sits on my blog and goes nowhere. YOU the reader drive engagement by ENGAGING with the material on this site. it has always been a challenge for fanfiction writers on this site to get any kind of traction or reblogs, but it is only getting worse with the influx of users from other social media platforms where you are encouraged to do no more than click like and keel scrolling. a reply/comment on the post is nice, and appreciated! but it doesn't do anything to share the work. reblog the stuff you like to support the artists and writers you like.

10 years ago, this kind of thing might have bothered me, especially considering I get very few reviews/comments on any of my fics.
But since the story is already 8 years old, and I haven't even thought about it in years, I ended up shrugging and going, "Meh."
Let me take this opportunity to remind all of you:
IF YOU DON'T LIKE A STORY, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE A COMMENT LIKE THIS.
I don't feel hurt because I don't love this story like I love a few others; I just had a crazy idea and ran with it. That being said, not every writer is going to just shrug this off like I have. Fanfiction writing can be an arduous process and is often a personal hobby. A lot of other writers would feel very hurt by a comment like this, especially when they wrote their story at a low point in their life.
If you don't like a story, make yourself useful and tell them WHY. "Worst story ever" doesn't tell the writer anything other than you don't like it. Is there something to improve on the writing style, the characterization, the ending?
Or better yet, don't comment at all.
