Seeing this a lot on TikTok, so I’m putting my opinion here.
While I understand why one might look at the discussion about Fanny in Funny Girl and think “this is the time to bring up straight actors playing gay characters” I really beg people with that thought to reconsider. They’re both conversations to be had, but they’re different conversations. It’s really hard seeing people derail conversations about the acceptability of Jewish erasure in our own stories with such frequency.
