ok so i made a post before abt how i absolutely despise fanon characters bc most of the time it absolutely ruins them (looking at you, deathnote fandom, i see what you did to L and i hate you for it)

SO like the salty haikyuu obsessed bitch i am, i thought id give my two cents on what some of the haikyuu boys SHOULD BE in fanon bc yall did them so dirty

hinata: THIS. MF. IS. NOT. INNOCENT. in the dub he literally calls noya a horny tornado, he KNOWS things. also like,, he’s a teenage boy?? sure he’s excitable and adorable but he’s not innocent. he probably makes deez nuts jokes and daichi falls for them every time

oikawa: i will never forgive y’all for reducing this man to a twink. YES he’s flamboyant but that is in no way his entire personality. he’s a cocky little shit who would probably sell kyoutani to the mafia for a slice of cheese

sugawara: istg if i see “sugamama” one more time i’m gonna call the authorities. THIS MAN WOULD COMMIT ARSON IF YOU ASKED HIM NICELY. obviously he takes care of the first years n it’s a really sweet dynamic but don’t act like he wouldn’t throw them off a bridge if provoked

kenma: listen, i know y’all want ur uwu gamer boy fantasy but this mf probably doesn’t shower. he’s a stinky gremlin who bullies children on roblox and club penguin. trust me, as a kenma kinnie, he’s not what ur imagining him to be lmao

kuroo: the way y’all saw an attractive douche with emo hair and dubbed him a sex god, like THIS MF IS A CHEMISTRY NERD. he can probably sing the periodic table song off by heart, he’s not the suave guy you think he is. mf probably reminds the chemistry teacher abt homework, he’s annoying asf (i promise i love him but like he’s ANNOYING)

yamaguchi: ok i’m not gonna say i hate the “yamaguchi soft boy” agenda, like i love that hc but y’all gotta remember that he’s just as much of a twat as tsukki in the beginning. like they’re the same level of asshole, yams is just more anxious. but dw i know he gets nicer as the story progresses n i love that for him, he has a special place in my heart.

tsukishima: SPEAKING OF THIS ASSHOLE (all out of love don’t come for me), wtf are some of y’all DOING with the “tsukki is racist and homophobic” bullshit?? like??????? mans is probably the gayest one in karasuno????? he’s not a bigot, he’s just an asshole, like calm downnnnn

asahi: tbh y’all didn’t do him too dirty but the whole jesus thing is so annoying like he’s not a saint, have y’all SEEN that scene where he’s jealous of suga bc kiyoko touched his hand?? yes he’s timid and a gentle giant but he’s not jesus

Like they make sakusa's whole personality staying away from germs, and being a huge asshole. They also make kuroo a huge nerd because he said one thing about science, or just a plain up "daddy dom" i hate both fanon kuroos lmao and making kageyamas character abusive but an abuser who is obsessed with milk?? Like i get thinking its cute when you see a character do a certain thing but you don't have to make that part the WHOLE character

Fun fact I won’t read 99% of fanfics about my favorites. (unless they’re of a mutual writing me something) 

I just won’t look at Kageyama fics at all I don’t like the way he’s depicted. No one takes into consideration his MASSIVE growth/change time skip and the factors of how absolutely calm he is. Man is on a team with Hoshiumi and they’re like, good friends?? His tolerance has to be endless to deal with his little intense ass. (I would know I’m roughly as annoying as Hoshiumi) But everyone clings to middle school Kageyama while also ignoring his personal growth even through his first year of high school. The milk thing is cute yeah but he also has a huge variety of other foods we see him enjoying as well (I actually headcanon that he’s just an endless pit who will consume most anything once and his eyes are bigger than his stomach hence the choking often) And not to mention Kageyama’s attitude is 100% different apart from Hinata and he’s not as stupid as people make him out to be. He simply just doesn’t find something worth his time he doesn’t engage (I would know I have a brother just like that, ain’t stupid, but he did poorly in school bc of it not catching his attention)

I will admit though as someone who was in AP classes, yeah ok nerds are kinda fucking weird lololol we do talk about shit like that too much so nerd Kuroo I don’t hate as much. But the mean daddy dom thing sets me over the edge all the time. Man’s a dork raised by grandparents cut him some slack

The traits Furudate gave them are important but also they change which was all the point of the timeskip like some ruining these great characters by defeating all the work Furudate painstakingly put into each one of them just to fit a damn trope

fanon kuroo (from what ive seen) is super suave and a huge flirt/tease that's sorta this badboy archetype who's only passions are volleyball, sex, and chemistry. also he's a sex god or smth & says "kitten" a the time right? whereas (to me) canon kuroo is more of a chill non-confrontational person unless he's provoked or agitated or otherwise has a reason to. i feel like he also cares a lot about a person if he dates them & is very in tune to their needs bc he pays attention (this isn't an ideal type post or char analysis so i'll stop)

I really think that canon kuroo would feel an immediate distaste towards fanon kuroo LMAO bc he just gives off those >;) sketchy vibes. c kuroo starts off courteous but probably gets roped into a witty roast battle with f kuroo bc f kuroo just likes to get under EVERYONE'S skin & c kuroo will respond in kind, & he's also just disgusted that someone with his face acts that way. maybe he's a little jealous that f kuroo is a chick magnet PFFF

Kuroo would be annoyed at how inaccurate your Fanon self would be. He loves your spontaneous and chaotic personality. And he also loves how you just keep being yourself no matter what. And Fanon you focuses so much on one area that it annoys him.

Not only doesn't it ruin the whole spontaneous attitude. It also annoys him cause Canon you is so much better. He definitely wrote at least one or two fanfiction about you. And he also probably did a character analysis so that people ACTUALLY write your character good.
