Hey everyone! I share the River version of my last map. I hope you like it. Your support and comments are very important to me. Download the full resolution image of this map at my Patreon, as well as alternate gridless, Abandoned Monster, Spider, Torchlight, River, Lava, Winter variations!
In Gary Gygax’s ‘Expedition to the Barrier Peaks’ he concealed an Easter Egg on the second level of his vast dungeon. Ironically, Gygax’s initials (Ernest Gary Gygax) also spell out the word ‘egg’. This playful piece of design speaks to how important it is to have fun while creating worlds for your friends to explore. Although this is an example of a meta egg (i.e., an egg that references something outside the game world), you can also toss in a number of inside references to previous games and sessions.
Border pieces from my current map project. Illustrating perfumes is always a challenge. For these, I created art nouveau style knot work of their main notes/ingredients and then designed the bottles to reflect the character of the two perfumes. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPFA5KMnelz/?utm_medium=tumblr
Far away, on the lost Plateau of Leng, are the ruins of the once mighty city of Sarkomand.
Which horrors may be hidden in this place?

An old abandoned warehouse is the perfect place for shady dealings. Perhaps a crime ring meets here. Maybe several people have gone missing in this area recently. Or maybe the neighbors have observed strange glowing green lights emanating form the windows late at night. There is no shortage of mischief that could happen in this old warehouse. The alternate version is this warehouse during the day. Of course I have done all the LoS setup in both Foundry VTT and Fantasy Grounds. The party had been on a quest to retrieve an artifact for the king.
They were told that it was hidden deep within the Fey Lands and that they would meet someone waiting for them at this cabin on their arrival. The land of the Fey is strange, as everything there is alive and moving- even beneath their feet as they approached the small house in front of them. As they reached it, a tall elf stood up from where he was sitting on the porch - apparently waiting for them. When he saw them approach, his smile grew wider and he opened up his arms wide as if greeting old friends who had dropped by unexpectedly with some tea.
When the gods moved to the Island of Sarcina (this is the name of the original island before the division of the islands), they took a small group of animals with them. To let these animals remember that the gods saved them, Lastrilmar, the goddess of the stars, altered the pattern of the stars. This group of animals is called the Kewan. Every animal got a corresponding constellation. Lastrilmar, who was always a wanderer, spread her mind with the birth of the Nasatra. The Nasatra are Kewan who could walk Kordra. After the division, Lastrilmar settled in the Island of Myrist, which lies above the other islands. Her temple was build in the elven city of Altrarad, currently known as Thilathlune. Although Lastrilmar's body isn't present in Thilathlune anymore, her influence is still seen. The elves became star elves and her temple is still the source of Nasatra.
The Nasatra: The animals who originate from the temple of Lastrilmar are fey creatures who roam the continent of Myrist. These animals are known as the Nasatra are seen in many forms: foxes, cats, weasels bears, deers, hawks, goats, ravens, squirrels, whales, insects, and wolves. Although insects aren't represented in a constellation, the stars that don't belong to a constellation are a symbol for the insects.
In later posts, I will deepen these creatures, the star elves and the city of Thilathlune.
Here is a little example on how the tiles work together! I chose a little elvish city corner to showcase the new castle available! 🧝🧝♂️🧝♀️ In the first picture there are 9 tiles assembled into a cityscape, in the second one you can see just the castle tile alone. 🏰
I will upload an example similar to this EVERY DAY, so you can see how the different tiles can look assembled! 🥳
Stay tuned for further updates! (Also, pssst: August's pack theme is Dwarves! ⚒ If you'd like to follow development and provide feedback, consider supporting my work on patreon, and join our ever-growing discord channel, where we discuss these things on the daily! 🎉)
And as always,
Happy Building! 🏠🏡
