Coming soon: 520 Day Reverse Exchange 2024!!

The Annual Interdimensional Haixing-Dixing 520 Day Reverse Exchange is coming back for 2024!

520 sounds like "I love you" in Mandarin, so May 20th is a bit like Valentine's Day. To celebrate, we're back with the sixth annual 520 Day Reverse Exchange. As the name says, this is a reverse exchange: instead of making your request and that request being assigned to a writer/artist/fanwork creator, here:

You sign up with the kinds of things you enjoy creating.

You choose three writers/artists/fanwork creators based on anonymised ads.

You make a request of each of them based on what they enjoy creating.

You are assigned one request to create for, based on your offer.

You receive a gift from one of the creators you chose.

(An updated rules/info post will go up before sign-ups open, but here is last year's for reference.)

Sign-ups part 1 - offers: Saturday 16 March - Friday 22 March Sign-ups part 2 - requests: Saturday 23 March - Friday 29 March Matching: Saturday 30 March - Tuesday 2 April Assignments out: Wednesday 3 April at the latest Deadline: Monday 13 May Work reveals: Monday 20 May (there is no anon period)

This exchange is run on Dreamwidth and AO3, but you don't need a Dreamwidth account to participate. We'd love it if you filled out or anon-commented on the interest poll on Dreamwidth, but that's also not required. :-)

You need an AO3 account to play (so you can receive your gifted fanwork), but you don’t need to post it to AO3 yourself if you find that a hassle - you can e-mail it to the mods and we’ll post it for you. <3

Welcome to the second year of 🌟STARSHIPPING HOLIDAY EXCHANGE🌟 - an anonymous gifting event where you sign up to create a Starshipping-themed gift (this can be art, fic, comic, gifs, edits, etc.) for a giftee based on their preferences for the holiday season. The sign-up form will go live on November 10th and remain open until 11:59PM PDT on November 30th. Matches will be sent out via email on December 3rd, and the posting period for all gifts will be from December 24th, 2023 to January 1st, 2024. The Black Emporium Exchange Works Reveal

Yeah, I'm late. I know. Sue me.

Basically I was picking up a few extra treats after the deadline because I discovered a few people had slipped through the cracks and I can't live with that. I was also busy, I'm an adult with responsibilities, it happens.

BUT I'M HERE NOW

I ended up completing 26 works for the exchange this year totaling 62,968 words. That is twice the fics I wrote last year and very nearly double the words. I'm pretty proud of it.

KPTS Fanwork Exchange Tagset Nominations are OPEN

Tagset nominations are now OPEN! During this period, participants can nominate any #KinnPorscheTheseries or Kinnporsche actor RPF relationships that they would like fanwork about to the tag set. Relationships with a "/" refer to romantic relationships, and relationships with an "&" refer to platonic relationships. Thus, a nomination for "Arm/Tankhun" would refer to a romantic relationship, and "Arm & Tankhun" would refer to a platonic relationship.

We opted to use tag set nominations allow participants to submit relationships that they’d like to request and offer for fanworks. Since the minimum relationship requirement is two, make sure to get nominations in so they’re included in the selection during the sign-up period. If a romantic or platonic relation is not nominated to the tagset by the end of the open period, it will not be eligible for the request or offer in the exchange. Please also note that each AO3 user can only nominate up to 10 relationships.

Sign Up Guidelines

The main method of communication for this project will be through email. This is how you will receive your assignment information with your recipient’s preferences, squicks and triggers, and favorites. If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out either via DMs, reblogs, or asks.

When signing up…

Please feel free to be as specific or as general as possible with your answers! For instance, if you wish to prioritize characters and ships, feel free to number them (i.e. “1. Ruby 2. Weiss” or “1. Ruby/Weiss 2. Yang/Blake”), but it is not a requirement. The goal is to give your giftee enough information to create something you will enjoy, while leaving some room for them to be creative and put their own spin on it!

When coming up with prompts…

Try your best to provide a variety! You can stick with just a setting, such as “Beacon Days” or “Atlas Ball,” you can provide a scene set up, such as “Yang and Ruby having sister bonding time” or “Team STRQ getting into shenanigans,” or you can even provide an AU idea, such as “Role Swap AU” or “Nothing Bad Ever Happened AU.” You can even provide your own AU if you’d like! If you decide to do that, try to provide at least one or two non-AU options, just in case.

When creating…

The focus of your fic must be at least one character or ship from the recipient’s list! If they prioritized, try your best to use their number one as the focus!

Avoid all squicks and triggers, respect your recipient’s boundaries, and make sure you consider their favorite tags, categories, and tropes when creating your piece. Try to use at least one of their prompts as a jumping off point, too!

If you get stuck…

You can always always always reach out if you have any questions or just need some help brainstorming. You can DM, reply to the assignment email, or send an ask (especially if you wish to remain anonymous).

Try to keep your identity a secret!!!

But if you want to learn more about your recipient (for instance, if they used their own AU as a prompt and you need more information on it), feel free to send them an anonymous ask here on Tumblr or reach out to me! I’d be happy to send an anonymous message on your behalf.

Even if you don’t have questions, reach out and talk to your recipient (anonymously) as you work on their piece! Offer encouragement, ask them questions, and just spread general excitement and love for the show!
