More Fall Wheat --- SEEDING STARTED --- Brampton, April 18 - Only the labor situation will prevent agricultural production in Peel county. from establishing something of a record this year, according to A. E. Innes, agricultural representative for Peel.

Pointing out that this should be a "big production year for Peel," the representative estimated there is 60 per cent., or 2.646 acres more fall wheat in Peel than there was in 1941. Fall wheat is looking exceptionally well except for the odd spot where washout occurred a earlier in the year." he added. "Meadows. also, are looking very well. Prospects for hay are very satisfactory." He said a few farmers in north and south Peel had started seeding, and that most farmers expect to start Monday.

"Yes, things in general look very promising. but the farm help problem is still the sticker." Mr. Innes stated. He said high school students now going out on the farms will help greatly, but that much more. assistance than this is required at haying and harvesting time in at year of big production.

"Because Peel soil is very workable and productive, and because we have so man dairy farms, we need more farm help than many other counties." he explained. Admitting that Peel was blessed with a great deal of farm machinery, he added that it takes help to operate such equipment. He said the local Win the War committee is trying to help to relieve the labor shortage.

Mr. Innes said that under a plan recently suggested. Brampton men may be given a day or half day off each week, and will be encouraged to spend it in helping on the farms. this summer.
