Già ci sono alcune notte che camino tra l'1.00am fino alle 4.30am. Dentro la stazione Milano Centrale mi hanno detto di uscire una notte, altra mi hanno minacciato di chiamare la polizia e nella notte scorsa mi hanno detto di restare dentro ma per me è meglio non dovere favore.

Il mio passaporto si trova pieno di punteggi fatti da penna rossa per la polizia dalla questura dentro la stazione Milano Centrale. Mi avevano detto che loro possono sequestrare la documentazione altrui e portarono il mio passaporto lontano di me.

Anyway, I was in Rome at Villa Farnesina, where the artist Sodoma adorned the walls of the bedroom with scenes from Alexander's life. My favorite was the fresco "ALEXANDER AND ROXANE'S WEDDING." You've probably seen the fresco; Sodoma based the depiction on the painting by the Greek artist Aëtion, according to a description by Lucian of Samosata. It's an obvious allusion to the imminent wedding night. In the center, Alexander approaches Roxane on the bed, while winged putti undress her. Behind Alexander is the half-naked Hephaistion, and in the background, the Greek god of marriage, Hymenaios, with a lit torch. Sodoma painted it around 1517/1519. Studying art history, I've looked into books and the internet, and hardly anyone addresses the naked Hephaistion. There's no attempt to find inspiration or a heterosexual explanation for the nude man in the bedroom; it's simply ignored, and some websites even cut him out. I had the impression he was trying to present Alexander's bisexuality, which, in my opinion, he succeeded in doing. It's fascinating that people in the Renaissance were already aware of this. On Twitter, some Trump supporters claim Netflix "made it up," which is ridiculous.

Second I've seen this very painting in person. It's really extraordinary!

And...I hate to bust your theory, but you have the identities of the two men on the right backwards.

The half-naked guy is Hymenaios. Hephaistion is holding the torch. :-) Hymenaios is traditionally shown nude or partly nude in Greek art. And the "best man" traditionally carried a torch at the wedding.

See below. The bride is in the cart, the groom getting in beside her, and the groom's best man faces them with the torch. As the groom usually picked up his bride after her last meal with her family, it was after dark. The best man was there to lead them through dark streets. :-)
