So I've seen a lot of "Jazz works as a therapist at Arkam" in the dp x dc fandom, and while I like the concept, I also feel like Jazz would take one look at the place and immediately be like "what the absolute fuck" at just the everything of the place.
Like, she either nopes out after the tour during the interview or quits not too long afterward starting there, not because she can't take it but because she's so appalled by what's going on there and can smell the corruption rolling off the place and knows no one sent to there is ever actually going to get the help they need.
So Jazz decides to open a private practice instead while still being absolutely determined to work with the various rogues in the city, she is here to help and nothing is going to stop her.
So she just starts showing up at known hangouts of rogues and during their heists/schemes/sprees, and even fights between them and the batfam, just like
"Hi! It’s so nice to meet you! My name is Dr. Jasmine Fenton/Nightingale/whatever last name she’s using and I was hoping we could talk!"
Casually kicks a baterang away without looking because she's being polite and professional!
"I understand that your experience with therapy through Arkam has been nothing but atrocious and that you are rightfully -"
Kicks Batman away without breaking eye contact or a sweat.
"Suspicious of attempting therapy again, and Idon't want to force anything on you, therapy should be on your terms after the experiences you've had but -"
Grabs Robin out of the air as he leaps at the rogue she's talking to and tucks him under her arm, ignoring his feral hissing and all attempts to break her hold.
"-I really think that you'd find it beneficial, even if I'm not the right therapist for you."
The rogue in question is having the time of their life and takes Jazz's business card - and a few extra to pass around - not really intending to actually ever book a therapy appointment with her but way too entertained and excited to share this madness with everyone else.
But then one of the rogues actually looks up Jazz's website and sees all the various safe guards she’s put in place to ensure that any villians that come to her will be protected while seeing her - soundproof therapy room, regular sweeps for listening and tracking devices, the most insane firewalls and protections anyone has ever seen on her network, and ooh she provides snacks and drinks!
So someone finally books an appointment with her, half convinced she's either going to turn them in or is a villain herself intent to experiment on them, but then it’s actually really nice??? And they feel a lot better afterwards?? She doesn't even say anything to indicate that she wants them to stop being villains, she just wants them to be okay??
So more and more rogues start going to her, and Batman was already losing his mind about this woman before - Oracle can't hack her system?!? And her background check shows a totally normal Psychiatrist?? - but now half of Gotham's heavy hitters and a dozen or so other minor league villains are seeing her regularly and every time he tries to get info on any plans the rogues might be scheme via her office it fails utterly. Nightwing got knocked out with something called a creep stick and when he tried to break in himself to get answers she just appeared out of no where and gave him the most scathing lecture about doctor-patient confidentiality before bullying him off her property and threatening to sick her brother on him if he tried again?
And because she's become such a figure in the Gotham underworld, she gets the attention of Joker.
And everyone, rogues and Bats alike, are terrified that she’s going to try and take him on as a patient like she has so many other villains in the city and that's just a recipe for tragedy.
But then the Joker is on his way to the hospital with two broken legs and the fear of god beat into him babbling about eldritch nightmares and whenever anyone asks Jazz what happened she just shrugs and just says things like "I refused him as a patient, he's not my problem." Or "My brother doesn't like clowns." And just, does not elaborate.
Batman is losing his mind over it all. Jazz is just happy to be able to actually help the rogues. Arkam is less happy about how she absolutely destroys their reputation.

TL:DR: Danny forms a team of various kids from around the multiverse and they decide to screw around in the DC verse.
After perfecting his portal creation technique, Danny ended up developing a habit of exploring other dimensions and making friends with various other supernatural and/or hero children and teens. He regularly organizes meet ups so all of his friends at least know each other.
Eventually, Danny decides they need a place to hold their hangouts outside of the Ghost Zone, mainly because it's a bit dangerous and he doesn't want anyone becoming a resident any time soon. But no one really wants to have it in their own worlds, if just to avoid raising any questions on where they suddenly gained a sudden extra friend group, especially since not everyone is exactly open about their supernatural and/or heroic sides of their lives. So, Danny finds a different world where having such traits isn't uncommon and they can hopefully get away with hanging out.
He finds what appears to be the perfect world. There's people with powers so they won't be questioned if they accidentally do something inhuman and they have heroes to deal with any threats. Danny even managed to find a corrupt billionaire that Tucker managed to hack, swiping a couple thousand from his personal account for them to use. So, the group decides to hold their regular hangouts there. Sure, they occasionally get involved when various rogues decide to interrupt them, but what's the harm?
Meanwhile, the Justice League and their Dark counterpart are trying to figure out who these children are, where they came from, where do they go, and why their powers are so strange.

Liminal Scarecrow
I see a lot of Scarecrow in DCxDP, usually as a plot device in tandem with his fear gas. And honestly, I’ll accept just about anything with a Scarecrow mention in it. However, there is one thing I doubt a lot of DCxDP fans know about from the DP side, which is the Scarebeast.
The Scarebeast is what was created when the Penguin decided to experiment on Scarecrow, essentially turning him into a living weapon.
It’s a giant monster that naturally produces fear gas in its body, and Scarecrow can only return to human form once the Scarebeast has been defeated.
I think that the Scarecrow could easily be a liminal of some sort, and the Scarebeast could be a manifestation of ghostly power.
Now, it should be noted that Scarecrow (to my knowledge) hasn’t died and been revived. He also hasn’t used the Lazarus pits. He gets beaten to hell and back on a regular basis, but he never actually dies.
However, we know that you don’t necessarily have to die to become a halfa. Vlad didn’t; instead, he was shot in the face with ectoplasmic energy by the malfunctioning proto-portal.
Also, we were never told exactly how the Scarebeast was created. Sure, we know that one of the Penguin’s scientists mutated him into existence, but we don’t know exactly what she used.
It’s not really so much of a stretch to think that he could have been exposed to some form of ectoplasm in order to stabilize or power his monstrous form, and as such became liminal (or a halfa).
Hell, all the other (canon) halfas in existence were created in a lab setting! Danny was mutated by ectoplasm and electricity when the portal opened, Vlad was blasted in the face by the previous portal, and Dani/Ellie was a clone.
Basically, give Scarecrow cool ghost privileges. He’s already got the creepy aesthetic. It’s what he deserves.

Favorite Cartoon Series Villains
Tumblr media
Slade Wilson - While I love Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke the Terminator in most of his incarnations, the one from the 2003 Teen Titans animated series will always be my most beloved. Voiced to chilling perfection by Ron Perlman, this Slade Wilson is implicitly the same soldier turned mercenary we all know, except that he finally got fed up with being smarter, stronger and all around better than the powerful people who hire him and has decided that he should be the one in charge of his own empire. To that end, he has become a criminal mastermind bent on conquering cities and finding an apprentice to carry his empire forward long after he's dead. Slade is cold, ruthless, underhanded, manipulative, predatory, and just all-around evil. Having dispensed with any notion of a "code of honor" that has traditionally been Slade's excuse to justify his actions, there is nothing this madman won't do to make his megalomanic dreams a reality. In terms of sheer supervillainy, there's just no topping him.
Tumblr media
Professor Pericles - Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated is an outstanding animated series for many reasons. One of them is how many truly, viciously evil villains it has, and none are more evil that Scooby's predecessor in Mystery Inc., Professor Pericles. A parrot that is equal parts super genius and super sociopath, Pericles is like Hannibal Lecter crossed with Yami Bakura: gleefully in tune with the spirit of a demon and ready with all kinds of schemes and manipulations to bring him closer to his goal of setting that demon free so that he can obtain ultimate power. He's even willing to kill people....and he actually does, several times! How genuinely malicious and scary they made this cartoon parrot is truly something to behold.

Ok so I watched Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” yesterday, and especially the later part of the movie (starting when she gets lost) really hit me as a combo of different trans allegories.
And of course, because it’s Alice in Wonderland and I’m having Hattercrow brainrot, I started to totally think of a Jervis hc background…
One where Jervis is trans and as a child he fixated on “Alice and Wonderland” as a trans allegory. So his whole M.O. when he grows up isn’t about using mind-control to find an “Alice”, but creating mind control because he feels powerless and confused in his current reality/under society’s oppressive systems. So he uses mind control and hallucinogenics to create his own reality.
Even though he related to Alice in the book, he projects himself onto the Mad Hatter/creates his persona on him because he is trying to overcompensate his masculinity; and the Mad Hatter allows him to feel masculine while also giving him the freedom to be “strange”.
(If anyone has a similar hc or just wants to talk about this please come chat with me 👀)
