(hello, for anyone who is interested, i will be reading bestie @femme--de--lettres Fearless Liabilities this week for my summer beach read and would love to have a fake book club.
Summary:
Summer camp. Six weeks of planning activities, leading campers, and getting up to no good. It's no different than the last decade that Remus and his friends have spent in rural Wisconsin. Except Remus' heart keeps trying to tell him that he's in love with his best friend, Sirius can't believe he's fallen for the one person who he knows is unequivocally straight, James is starting to lose faith that Lily will ever actually consider going on a date with him, and Peter? Peter's just trying to keep his friends from getting in over their heads.
*stephan voice from SNL* it has Midwest sensibilities. Camp counselors. Water. Shenanigans. Romance. and More.

Oh wow. So, are Raina finds out cure, or she struggles with seizures even for now?
Also, i love her lore. It's pretty sad and angsty, but at least she get that enderman powers- love how you pointed that being fearless is a difficulty.
ANYWAY! what are her Favorite places in nevada to be? Or maybe some if Nevada had same things our earth got?
How good she is with kids? It seems to be really interesting since she mostly didn't have adults to care or survive.
Ok so:
1) She hasn't really tried figuring out a cure for her epilepsy or anything, she's just resigned to managing it as best she can with medication n' shit. She's essentially "stress tested" herself plenty of times in order to figure out how much teleporting she can handle before an episode is triggered, or just what triggers it in general outside of her powers, and she's found that being on anticonvulsants helps in letting her teleport more without triggering an episode, as well as just not having any during normal life stuff period lol. So she makes do with whatever she's able to scavenge! Making sure she's stocked on anticonvulsants is a top priority for both her and her work colleagues!
2) Thank you so much!! I'm very happy with her story as is lol. I think its important to highlight how fearlessness isn't necessarily a good trait to have, especially in an apocalyptic setting such as Nevada. This girl gets THIS close to getting killed half the time as a result of her fearlessness resulting in recklessness!
3) Usually her favorite places out in the wasteland are just rundown, abandoned malls or arcades, she likes visiting places she can somewhat remember vibing in as a child, and seeing what's become of them. Plus, she's a technical wizard, and is usually able to figure out how to get arcade cabinets back up and running if left around them for long enough. The gamer in her never left, despite the horrors lol
4) She's wonderful with kids! Though she doesn't really come across them all that often, considering no one really like...has time to settle down and focus their efforts on anything but survival lol. However, she has run into a couple lost kids and teens over the years, and she's always been an absolute riot with them. She's naturally got that big sister type of energy/operating mode, and is usually able to keep them in high spirits while also trying to find a safe place for them to go. Cause like, as much as she's fond of them, she knows keeping a kid around in Nevada is much more of a liability than it is helpful!

May 24th, 2022 was awards day at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Fourth grader Mayah Zamora won three of them – in math, robotics, and for making the honor roll. Not long after the ceremony, an 18 year-old walked into the school with an AR-15 style Daniel Defense rifle and started shooting.
Nineteen children and two teachers were killed. Zamora was airlifted to the hospital and has had more than sixty surgeries in the year since. Zamora's mom, Christina, says her daughter had been a fearless child before the shooting.
"Mayah shows a fear of this world that she had never shown before," she says. "Someone unexpectedly knocking on the door is a scary trigger for her."
Last year, the Zamoras became the second family to file a lawsuit against law enforcement, the school district, the gun store, and the maker of the weapon, Georgia-based Daniel Defense.
Federal law protects the firearms industry from lawsuits if their products are misused. But the law has exceptions, and the lawsuits allege that Daniel Defense can be held liable for what happened because of how they market their products.
"We need to speak up, for our daughter, for our family, for children in the future, maybe this will make a change," Christina Zamora says. "Nineteen children died. They were massacred. By an 18-year old boy. There's something wrong there."
In 2005, Congress granted broad immunity to gun manufacturers. But some legal experts believe exceptions allow gunmakers to be held partially responsible for these mass shootings if they deceptively marketed their products in violation of the law.
Georgia State University Law Professor Timothy Lytton, an expert on health and safety regulation, says Daniel Defense is notorious for its provocative marketing.
The lawsuits argue that the company violated federal trade law by unfairly marketing its products to civilians as tools for offensive, military-style operations.
"And they also allege that the placement of this AR-15 style weapon in video games allowed young men in particular to fantasize about use of this weapon in a way that would simulate the kind of violence that we saw in Uvalde," Lytton says.
After the Sandy Hook school shooting, some families of the victims made a similar argument in the Connecticut courts against the gunmaker Remington, which was in bankruptcy. And while the families won a seventy-three million dollar payment, it didn't create a sea change.
"It's not like a manufacturer came to the table and said, 'We admit liability here for the carelessness of our marketing practices.' This was a bankruptcy in which bankruptcy creditors paid out in order to get the company back into business," Lytton says.
The U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up the case on appeal. So while gun control supporters cheered the settlement, the litigation left many legal questions unresolved. One big question is whether violations of the Federal Trade Commission Act even apply to the exceptions allowed under that sweeping immunity law. As a result, the Uvalde lawsuits against Daniel Defense could be the biggest test yet of the extent of the firearms industry's liability protections.
The cases have been filed in federal court in Texas, with the help of Everytown Law, an arm of the group Everytown for Gun Safety.
Daniel Defense didn't respond to an interview request, but has called the lawsuit politically-motivated and legally unfounded.
Mark Oliva is managing director of public affairs for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a trade association for the firearms industry.
"Trying to sue a firearm manufacturer for the crimes committed by a remote third party would be the same thing as trying to sue Ford and Annhauser Bush for the deaths caused by drunk driving," Oliva says.
Even if the Uvalde cases clears the stringent immunity law and are allowed a trial, the courts would still have to consider another set of thorny questions, like whether the company's marketing is protected by the first amendment.
But Lytton says whatever happens, these liability cases put more focus on gunmakers.
"You only need one or two lawsuits to win to transform the whole industry," Lytton says. "If it got planted in Connecticut, and it flowers in Uvalde, that might be enough. And if it never takes root there, it's likely to pop up in Chicago. Or California."
Some states are passing laws that would make it easier to file these suits against gunmakers, but Oliva says the industry is pushing back.
"Are we going to bend to the idea that we're going to suffer death by a thousand cuts? I think your answer to that is we're challenging the law in New York. We're challenging the law in New Jersey. We're challenging the law in Delaware," Oliva says.
Back in Texas, the Zamoras want to make Wednesday's anniversary as normal a day as they can. Right now, they're focused on their daughter's recovery.
But they hope accountability will come, too.

hiya!!
what sort of music do you think debbie is into?
AHHHH YES IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS ASK
anon i don’t think you realized what you have just started i am insane
marina, this is canon. she says it in season 4, and i will honestly make an entire other post regarding this because she is so marina-coded and almost every marina song fits her (ie. teen idle, the family jewels, primadonna, girls, mans world, i am not a robot), and i think that the time period she listens to marina is so important to her character in a way because season 4 debbie’s mindset is VERY teen idle.
lana del rey, so i think that @l0st4l1fe will definitely agree with me on this and probably have more to say on it, but i’d definitely say lana del rey. the time that she was born makes lana del rey fitting for her, and especially if she was into marina, because a lot of marina fans are lana fans (myself included). and the song “did you know that there’s a tunnel under ocean blvd” is SO debbie gallagher (like the lyrics, “don’t forget me”), also a&w is very debbie. i also think that mandy probably liked ultraviolence, and i’ll say something about mandy in a second because i definitely think that mandy influenced debbie’s music taste.
hole, so some people may know this about me, some people may not, but i am a MAJOR hole fan and i definitely think that debbie would like hole. hole is very much “female rage”, and debbie very much is the character that comes to mind when i hear “female rage”. hole’s song doll parts fits mandy a lot, so i think that she would like hole for that reason (+ the fact that hole is a female grunge band, which she may like), and i think that she showed debbie hole. hole’s song i think that i would die is about losing custody of your daughter, so i think that debbie would resonate with that. and the song she walks on me is just SO season 5/10 debbie and i have no explanation other than she just sounds so angry. whatever- 10/10 band and she may like them.
taylor swift, again, this is kind of just the time that she grew up, like, she was six when debut came out so she was just kind of growing up with that music and i could see her liking it. she probably really likes reputation and folklore (she’s a mirrorball girlie) now, but back in season one/two she liked speak now and fearless.
paramore, yet another band she stole from mandy. i actually could see her stealing this from mandy and ian both because i have no explanation really but ian seems like he would like paramore (the song tell me it’s okay reminds me of him). debbie would definitely like all i wanted and ain’t it fun. those songs are just very debbie.
fiona apple, i actually see this with fiona (gallagher, lol) more, but this would just be her stealing her big sisters music taste. she wouldn’t really like fiona apple, but i think she would like i want you to love me because c’mon, it’s debbie.
lorde, again, kinda just the listening to marina in 2014 set this off. the song the love club is literally SO her in season 4 with holly and ellie (“it’s time the kid got free”, “there are fights for being my best friend” “take the pill make it too real”), i have a post saved in my drafts all about that. and also liability fits (“get you wild, make you leave”), as well as ribs (“and i’ve never felt more alone, feels so scary getting old”.)
i can probably think of more but that’s it for now ok bye bye

Alejandro Vargas had always been a hardened soldier, a fearless warrior on the front lines of battle. He was known for his tactical brilliance and cold, calculated demeanor. But there was one thing he couldn't quite figure out, and it bothered him more than he cared to admit.
Y/N was a fiercely independent journalist, always on the hunt for the next big story. She had a knack for getting in the middle of war zones, documenting the horrors of conflict, and uncovering the truth that governments and organizations tried to hide. Alejandro and Y/N's paths often crossed, but never without sparks flying.
Their first encounter was on the battlefield in a war-torn country. Y/N had embedded herself with a group of freedom fighters, and Alejandro was leading a covert special ops team. He saw her as a liability, a civilian who had no business being in the line of fire. Y/N, in turn, viewed Alejandro as a heartless killer, responsible for the very atrocities she was trying to expose.
Their interactions were filled with heated arguments and icy glares. Y/N was relentless, always pushing for answers and holding Alejandro accountable for his actions. Alejandro, on the other hand, saw Y/N as an interference, someone who put his team at risk with her reckless pursuit of the truth.
But as they found themselves repeatedly thrown together in the chaos of war, something began to change. They saw the humanity in each other. Alejandro realized that Y/N's determination was driven by a deep sense of justice, and Y/N recognized that Alejandro's stoic exterior was a defense mechanism, shielding his own pain and trauma.
One night, as they took shelter in an abandoned building during a fierce firefight, they found themselves alone. The world outside was filled with chaos, but in that moment, it was just the two of them. They began to talk, opening up about their pasts, their fears, and their dreams. The animosity that had once defined their relationship slowly gave way to understanding and even admiration.
As time went on, their connection deepened. They began to trust each other in ways they had never trusted anyone before. Y/N's reporting took on a more balanced and compassionate tone, and Alejandro started to question some of the orders he had blindly followed in the past.
Their love story was far from conventional, but it was powerful. They navigated the perils of war, betrayal, and personal demons together. And as the dust settled, they realized that their love had grown stronger from the hate that had once consumed them. They had found a way to bridge the gap between their worlds, turning their hate-love story into an unbreakable bond forged in the crucible of conflict.

mmay i have some nice hal facts/photos/headcanons/really whatever you want i am having a bad day again ^ - ^
I'm sorry to hear that!!! I hope this isnt like horrendously late <- (fell asleep) and I hope ur having a much better day now than when u sent this <3
Kicking my feet um um what haven't I talked about yet for hal. Oh let's talk about his various jobs <3. He was a test pilot at ferris air when he first got the ring, and then he quit when carol got engaged (to some guy idk) and he was tourism pilot in Idaho for like a single issue!
And then he was an insurance claims adjuster for a while until he got sick of that and quit, and then then he was a toy salesman! And then hard traveling heroes happened so he just kinda wandered around with ollie for a bit.
And then he got a job as a truck driver until his truck was totaled by a wave. And then he got a job back at ferris but then ferris was bombed and they were going to start laying people off so he was looking for new piloting jobs but nobody would hire him because he was "too fearless" which made him "a liability". He slayed too close to the sun I guess </3 (<- parallax joke)
Anyways after working at ferris for a bit he was a freelance test pilot and then he ran his own air taxi business <3
Hmm what else.... his mom called him hally :)
Also his relationship with ollie in HTH is so fucking funny because hal will say something like "idk about this ollie this seems suspicious" and ollie will go "UGH you are such a WET BLANKET 🙄"
Any adaptation of hal being like. Some suave renegade ladysman top gun pilot or whatever is so fucking funny to me. Like who is that. Hal, my friend hal who cant lie to save his life? Hal the teetotaler that did math homework instead of getting laid? 🤨
Also I want to talk about the rings bc I was thinking about guy being trans and how he would get T in space, which made me go u know what I bet the ring could permanently alter your physiology if you wanted it bad enough. Guy used the ring to keep himself young its literally canon that you can alter your physiology somewhat with it. Anyways this is me saying that I think hal's massive boobs and hourglass figure is reflective of his need to be a pretty lady

Ma’am I humbly ask for a Guardian Angel update, like where another Alpha tries to hit on YN and Damiano doesn’t mean to but he just looses control cause he loves her so much and he doesn’t wanna lose her and he’s just so protective over her
Alpha!Damiano flipping shit on behalf of y/n has always been on my mind and I'll def be writing some protective Dami stuff. I don't think he'd be afraid of loosing her to someone else because they have such a strong relationship. She's seen his true colors and accepts him and hasn't been interested in anyone else. If he were to defend y/n I don't think it'd be out of jealousy, but because he was worried for her safety.
I've imagined an alpha that was new to school who could tell she was marked, but didn't care. Maybe y/n was still attractive to him or maybe he observed she was held in high regard with in Daminao's circles as his omega. Her social status was attractive to him or he likes the conquest. But this alpha doesn't know about Damiano and hits on y/n who's basically like "are you lost?" Of course he gets his ass handed to him. Especially because y/n is so independent that when she finally needs Dami to defend her honor he's ready to draw blood.
Alternatively maybe Nikolai, Julio, and the alpha from the first imagine decide to pick on y/n to get back at Damiano. They purposefully scare the shit out of her and she instinctively seeks out Damiano who can't figure out what's wrong because she's her instincts have her frozen up but he's really really concerned. Y/n would just show up at the Davids unannounced when the parents aren't home so his older brother answers the door and she flinches when he raises a hand to welcome her inside. "Damiano, your gfs here!" he's playing video games or something in his bedroom "v funny, thank you." "No she's actually here come into the living room." "I said I'd vacuum tonight!" "Damiano, y/n is here and it seems like she's hurt or something." "Thats not fucking funny what the fuck is wrong with you?" he storms out of his room to find y/n wringing her hands, shoulders hunched to make herself small. instant protector mode
Or maybe people who are trying to prove that Dami is a liability and shouldn't be allowed on sports teams etc and use her to to trigger him and she has to calm him down which is hard mid-episode and everyone is yelling like "be careful" "don't come any closer he's gonna hurt you" "stay away he's dangerous" "he's not Damiano right now" but when y/n gets close he can smell himself on her and recognizes that so she can reason with him. like everyone is afraid to touch him all these really strong alphas, but y/n is fearless because she loves him and knows his heart.

Why the Supreme Court Had to Hear Trump’s Case
By David B. Rivkin, Jr., and Elizabeth Price Foley
February 29, 2024, in the Wall Street Journal
Many observers thought the Supreme Court would decline to consider Donald Trump’s claim that presidential immunity shields him from prosecution for his conduct on Jan. 6, 2021. But on Wednesday the justices announced that they will hear the former president’s case in April. Mr. Trump could eventually face a trial on those charges, but the justices had little choice but to take up this question because the lower court’s ruling was so sweeping and dangerous.
Mr. Trump claims that his allegedly criminal actions were “official acts” taken as president. The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia held that it didn’t matter if they were—that no president is entitled to immunity from “generally applicable criminal laws.” That decision violates the separation of powers, threatens the independence and vigor of the presidency, and is inconsistent with Supreme Court precedent.
The justices are unlikely to decide whether Mr. Trump’s actions were in fact “official acts.” Instead, they will consider the key legal question, “whether and if so to what extent does a former president enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office.”
That’s a novel question, but in Nixon v. Fitzgerald (1982), the high court held that a president enjoys absolute immunity from civil suits predicated on his “official acts,” even if they fall foul of “federal laws of general applicability.” Justice Lewis Powell wrote that such immunity is a “functionally mandated incident of the President’s unique office, rooted in the constitutional tradition of the separation of powers and supported by our history.” Such lawsuits “could distract a President from his public duties, to the detriment of not only the President and his office but also the Nation that the Presidency was designed to serve.”
Mr. Trump maintains that he believed the 2020 presidential election was riddled with fraud and that his conduct on Jan. 6 was fully consistent with his constitutional obligations to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” Whatever the merits of that claim, it raises weighty questions of law and fact that the D.C. Circuit was wrong to brush aside—most centrally, that the president’s power is granted by the Constitution, which, as the supreme law of the land, overrides ordinary, “generally applicable” statutes.
The D.C. Circuit decision opened the door to all manner of constitutional crises. A former president could be prosecuted for ordering a military attack on an American affiliated with a foreign terrorist organization, even though such an order is clearly within his authority as commander in chief. Aggressive prosecutors motivated by ideology or partisanship could use capaciously worded criminal statutes—including those regarding mail or wire fraud, racketeering, false statements and misrepresentations—to challenge almost any presidential action, including those related to national security activities.
As with civil suits, it isn’t enough to say that the former president would have the opportunity to mount a defense in court. The mere possibility of personal prosecution for official actions would chill future presidential decisions. The D.C. Circuit casually disregards this danger, asserting simply that the “public interest” in prosecuting crimes is weightier than the risk of chilling impartial and fearless presidential action. It asserts that a president wouldn’t be “unduly cowed” by the prospect of criminal liability, “any more than a juror” or “executive aide” would be. That analogy is inapt because the president’s responsibilities are much weightier than those of jurors or aides. He alone is the singular head of a constitutional branch of government. As the justices recognized in Nixon v. Fitzgerald, the “greatest public interest” isn’t in enforcing ordinary statutes against the president. Immunity is necessary to ensure he has “the maximum ability to deal fearlessly and impartially with the duties of his office.”
The D.C. Circuit dismissed as “slight” the risk that former presidents will be politically targeted because prosecutors “have ethical obligations not to initiate unfounded prosecutions” and there are “additional safeguards in place,” including the requirement of seeking an indictment from a grand jury. These arguments border on frivolous. Not all prosecutors are ethical, and even those who are may be overzealous. Many cases have featured prosecutorial misconduct or abuse. And the justices have surely heard the saying that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich. Lawyers in civil cases are also bound by ethical obligations, but that didn’t vitiate the case for presidential immunity in 1982.
Jack Smith, the special counsel in the Trump cases, has asserted that federal prosecutors make decisions without regard to politics—but his conduct in this case belies that claim. His chief argument against Mr. Trump’s petition for a stay of the D.C. Circuit’s decision denying his immunity was that such a delay would cause “serious harm to the government—and to the public” because the case “presents a fundamental question at the heart of our democracy.” Many Supreme Court cases raise such questions, and Mr. Smith avoids saying what distinguishes this one. The obvious answer is the election timetable.
Mr. Smith’s demand for fast-tracking the Supreme Court’s consideration thus contradicts the D.C. Circuit’s suppositions about prosecutorial ethical probity. Trying Mr. Trump, the all-but-certain Republican nominee for president, before the election is inconsistent with Section 9-27.260 of the Justice Department’s Justice Manual, which makes clear that prosecutors “may never make a decision regarding . . . prosecution or select the timing [thereof] . . . for the purpose or affecting any election, or for the purpose of giving an advantage or disadvantage to any candidate or political party.”
The question of presidential immunity is an important one for our constitutional democracy of separated government powers, and the D.C. Circuit made a grievous error in disposing of it so casually. The justices were right to halt the proceedings until they can give the issue the careful consideration it deserves.
Mr. Rivkin served at the Justice Department and the White House Counsel’s Office during the Reagan and George H.W. Bush Administrations. Ms. Foley is a professor of constitutional law at Florida International University College of Law. Both practice appellate and constitutional law in Washington.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 9: The JOJOLands - Chapter Round-Up (Chapter 3)
Tumblr media
I saw this chapter as soon as it came out but I waited to talk about it because I wanted some thoughts to marinate and others to crystallize. I don’t want to spoil anything so find my thoughts below the “Keep reading”, see ya down there!
Tumblr media
Right off the bat, Araki blesses us with this bold spread of Jodio crossing Rohan’s compound with Rohan right there. We’ll get back to Jodio soon but can I talk about how amazing the art has been for Jojolands? Araki feels at the peak of his game and the energy reminds me a lot of Oda at the height of Wano arc. Near the end of Jojolion the art was quite rightly pretty cramped, it did a great job of showing the suffocating nature of Wonder of U and the Calamities. But now, Araki gets to let loose and really give us a sense of the openness of Hawaii. It’s betriful and almost every page has incredibly striking art.
Tumblr media
Now going back to Jodio. He’s absolutely fearless. He doesn’t have a sense of risk for himself and that makes him bold. He knows that if he’s caught now it’ll only be him that suffers the consequences. Or he thinks that, as he doesn’t know about Heaven’s door. This disregard for consequences also makes him very confident and he needs to be able to pull off a heist right under Rohan’s nose. Jodio actually gets more nervous seeing Rohan’s art than he does hiding in plain sight.
Tumblr media
Dragona and crew make their way into the house and Usagi sees a cat loitering around. By the way, I want to stop and admire the art again. Whereas the wide open shots are beautiful, these character centric panels drip with so much personality. Paco’s looking ahead, Dragona’s on the lookout for trouble and Usagi has already been distracted.
Tumblr media
Dragona warns them not to steal anything but they’re already deep into the loot. These guys are liabilities. But what they’re stealing also reveals a lot about them. Usagi is pure Id, stealing what appears to be bottles of champagne. Paco on the other hand, seems to be going for cash and easily sellable artifacts like small statues and clocks. Dragona warns them off again. For the second time. Usagi drops it and focuses on something else.
Tumblr media
Usagi is really careless, again, he’s the biggest liability they have. He cuts up a painting and doesn’t bother to cover up the damage. Paco on the other hand still pockets the cash. It seems like to me that Paco is desperate for money. He’s probably going through some unfortunate circumstances related to it as he is quite often agreeable to playing the quiet soldier while having a pretty big personality. Right away, I love these Jobro’s so much. We haven’t had such a solid supporting cast, in my opinion, since Part 6. Gyro was obviously in a class of his own but he was just one character. Right out of the gate we have three strong supporting characters and an incredibly strong antagonist that will no doubt turn into an ally in Rohan.
And speaking of Rohan, I really like this idea of different sects of stands developing. One in Japan and one in America. Like a disease, it spreads from person to person and consigns them to a bizarre life whether they want it or not. It’s just like the Jostar legacy. We get a scene setting up what I’m assuming is the main plot of the story where these four will team up with Rohan to fulfill whatever his objective is.
Tumblr media
Then we get the cat. It’s peak cat design. It’s implied it’s a stand as they can all see it and they never considered that it might not be. If so, it’s a brilliant way to show that Rohan has powers to the main cast and it also seems to bring the two groups together against a common third enemy. However, if it’s a Iggy situation, then I would be sooooo down for that. A cat stand user that just does whatever it wants would be beautiful. I could cry just thinking about it. Araki, you beautiful weird bastard, please make it come true.
Tumblr media
Moving on, I want to touch on this incredible sense of tension Araki’s been able to build. The paneling and the page layout lends itself to creating such a cinematic sense of tension it feels like it’s borrowed straight from the best thrillers. Actually Jojolands does remind me of Thief a lot so far. Araki has always been good with horror but I’m glad he’s also putting so much focus into tension, it’s such an integral part of heists.
Tumblr media
And then we see Rohan get past Jodio as he was too absorbed in what he was looking at. And we see Jodio sweat. Which he didn’t while walking in plain sight of Rohan. So what makes this any different? Two things I’d say. The first is his sense of personal responsibility where he doesn’t want to be responsible for other misfortunes or maybe more specifically Dragona’s, i’m not sure yet. And the second being that he screwed up. It’s a mistake and he doesn’t like making those.
Jodio warns them and notices that the cat isn’t Rohan’s. At the same time Paco and Usagi find the safe and pressure Dragona to open it while Jodio pleads to leave. This speaks to Jodio’s careful nature but also reveals a lot about Dragona when they cave. Dragona has to be the leader of a bunch of wildcards and does their best to keep them in check. And has so far made the correct decisions but it looks to be getting to them. I think that’s why Jodio might step in, to hep Dragona with the burden, especially of Usagi, who seems to exacerbate Paco’s desire’s too. Dragona also seemed to be a capable leader before Usagi came along. I can’t help but feel like Usagi was meant to sabotage them and maybe use his power to steal away a copy of the diamond if possible.
Rohan attempts to go inside but Jodio distracts with his stand which we learn a little more about. It seems like sharp needles are at the ends of the rain drops. Like pine needles or something. Finally they get the diamond but see what looks like an equally important piece of volcanic rock in the safe, which is probably a big piece of the plot’s puzzle. As they leave they get attacked by the cat and Jodio realizes Rohan can see stands. This was a great tension filled chapter that unveiled a lot about the characters and set up pretty well for what seems to be the plot of this part.  I don’t want to speculate too much so I’ll leave it at that and see y’all next time!

Haven't been posting as much because I am trying to get this damn fanfic finished. It's taken me a year (life events, full time job etc...) but after this chapter only one chap to go! It is a scifi time travel mixed with trouple relationship between Kanejes. Yes I am obsessed with the trio.
Chapter 29 SILVER LINING
Indestructible Fabrikator made by yours truly...
EXCERT: spoiler
"Inej?" a voice called above her.
His worried voice pierced the thick fog surrounding her thoughts. She blinked her blurry eyes, and when her vision cleared, he was looming over her, his face mere inches from hers.
"I was so worried about you, my darling," Kaz said with a slight quiver.
Inej lay transfixed, looking at his caring and concerned face that seemed to ease its way to a look of joy at seeing her again. He reached out his hand and ran his fingers down the length of her hair, where it trailed onto the pillow.
"Where am I?"
"Harbour House. You're both safe."
"I thought you were hit." Inej closed her eyes and tried to catch her breath. "I saw it so clearly. I...oh, Saints." Inej jolted up and clutched her chest, her heart thundering in her breast. "You were shot, and I couldn't... couldn't save you! You were dying!"
Kaz wrapped his arms around her and held her close. "I'm here, Inej." His eyes held her with concern. "Tell me what you saw."
A deep shudder tore through her. "It was horrible. The bullet...it hit you in the chest. There was blood everywhere." She pushed back and gazed up at him. "Alyona. She was there with me..." Her words trailed off, her eyes widened. "The hooded being called you worthless," she whispered. "It loathes you. And it feared me!"
He was about to answer when she noticed the room was empty from floor to ceiling, except for some wooden chairs propped against the wall.
"This is...this is not my room. It's the—"
"Artillery room," Kaz answered. "Without the artillery, of course."
"No!" She lurched to her feet with the world spinning. Her legs trembled as she walked to the window and yanked back the curtains. There were thick metal bars across it and rolls of vicious spikes curling along the window sill.
"It's just a safety precaution."
"Kaz—" An expression of fury mingled with terror swept over her face as her eyes shifted to the door.
"Don't bother. It's bolted," he said.
"You can't be serious."
He closed the distance between them, but the shadows obscured his face. "The Queen has betrayed us." "What, no—" He cut her off before she could protest further. "When the timeline breaks, the vaccine mandate will go into effect. "You know I cannot protect everyone from these hellhounds!"
"You won't do it alone. I'll be with you."
Kaz hesitated. "Inej, you're pregnant. You're not exactly in peak fighting condition. And if you can't fight, you're just a liability."
"I was once your investment, but now I'm just a liability. I understand."
"That's not what I meant," said Kaz calmly, "you are fearless and clever enough. But I will not let you endanger yourself or our son."
"Why—why are you doing this?"
"Because you never know what you'll be willing to sacrifice until the moment the choice is upon you."
"And what do you know about sacrifice?"
His strong hand closed around hers, yanked her close. She heard the air moving through his nose, felt his heart thundering in his chest. "Look at me, Inej. "Our son is in grave danger, and right now, he's trying to break the barrier between our worlds." He placed her hand over his heart. "I will die before I let that happen."
Her eyes narrowed, and she glared up at him. "Much like his father, he will stop at nothing to get what he wants."
"Do you remember that day you left Ketterdam?"
“You're bringing this up again?”
"Because." His voice was raw with emotion. "If I could go back to that day. If I could undo any of it, I would."
"Please don't torment yourself for my sake."
"Everything I do is for your sake."
Inej gently cupped his chin and lifted his face so that he was forced to look into her eyes. The answer was so obvious she couldn't believe she hadn't realized it before.
"What if. . . ," she said slowly, raising her eyes to look at him. "What if we could go back?"
"No," he said firmly. "Absolutely not. I forbid it."
"But we can rewrite our past. And then I could stay here with you."
She watched his disbelief as he stared at her for a long time before he pivoted to stare out the window. She knew he was contemplating her words, and she wondered frantically what the outcome would be. Taking a deep breath, she held it and waited.
His eyes returned to hers. Anguish, tortured eyes.
"You'll hate me. And you'll always blame me for staying in Ketterdam."
“Well, I have the power to do it!” she challenged him.
“You can't alter fate, Inej."

Something that always puzzled me was Kim being kinda in denial upon hearing the events of Exchange in Gorilla Fist. I dont get why it's hard for her to believe that Ron defeated Monkey Fist, when he did so in their first encounter aswell(one that she knows about) . She's also aware that he defeated Gill, a mutant with superhuman abilities, she even praised him afterwards stating he was brave and resourceful, when Ron tried to say it was only because he knew Wannaweep so well that he pulled it off, Kim denies it and says its part of who he is, so she knows hes capable of stepping up,even if she didn't witness it for herself. Now that I think about it, whenever Ron steps up on his own and is courageous, Kim literally is never there to witness it even if she is in the general area at the time, It happened in Sink or Swim, MF Strikes, Exchange,Fearless Ferret, Big Brother, it's only until the series finale does she actually witness him at his true potential. I feel like this was intentionally done by the writers, I would like to know your thoughts on this.
i had a reply fully written and then my computer crashed :) so let's start this over. it was better phrased the first time... ah well.
kim is shocked to hear about it because she's never seen ron actually fight competently or confidently. because if she was there to see it? SHE would be beating the bad guys, not ron. she's the hero of the show. so for her to be there and for ron to do the impressive things would defeat the point of it being 'kim possible.' and ron is forced after some early S1 episodes into the comic relief role, as a mirror to drakken who is also forced into that role. kim has to fight shego because she needs a parallel/equal, and ron needs a role/equal to be relevant... so he and drakken fall into the comic relief, slap-fighting role... ron pushing buttons until the magmachine destroys the cheese building, drakken destroying his own moon laser... while kim keeps her role as hero and has a worthy opponent in shego.
kim does see some of ron's capabilities for example in Bad Boy and in Stop Team Go. but you're right, she basically doesn't get to see him at his most capable because it would change the whole point of the show. that said, i think kim has believed in ron all along. why else would she bring him on the missions? if he was truly a liability, then she wouldn't. being the bestie isn't reason enough to bring him. so i think she knows he's intelligent and capable and brave enough.
which brings us to the moment she finally does seem him come into his own: Graduation. her look of awe at the end isn't so much awe of his mystic monkey powers, but awe of his confidence and skill. and it's not awe like...she didn't think he could. but sort of that...always knew he could, awe. that's the first time she's seen him actually show his skill and sheeee loves it.
side note... some people have said they don't like graduation for the fact that it's ron who saves the day instead of kim. which...as i said before, it's not 'kim possible' if she's not, which is why ron can only be competent when she's not there. and i think all those people who say ron isn't at kim's level, well...kim's reaction at the end there kind of proves he is. she's always believed in him and then when it mattered more than it ever possibly could, he totally came through. that look on her face and hug says it all.
i had more thoughts before my computer crashed but i can't remember them. in any case... Graduation kind of makes it all come full circle.

Don’t grow attached.
Was it a rule, a mantra, or something to hide behind? These days, Genesis couldn’t tell. It was habit at this point. Attachments were a liability. They weren’t a threat to his ever-growing power, but his heart, not yet entirely shut away, was still vulnerable if he let it, and the losses were ever increasing.
It never got easier.
The Crimson Guardian stood at the edge of a gambling complex steadily fading into embers. On the surface it had been a lighthearted game hall run by a couple who, in all honesty, seemed to despise each other.
It attracted the rougher, seedier type, as these establishments often did, but when young girls from neighboring villages began to go missing, the people had called on him to help, and all fingers had pointed here.
Most of the girls had scattered once he’d freed them, a couple of the more meek and terrified ones pulled along by others they’d grown close to in the underground halls of the establishment.
But one girl remained by his side, watching the blaze. She didn’t move for hours. Not while it was at its hottest (surely she was…uncomfortable to say the least?) He’d drawn a wing around her, blocking the heat from her exposed flesh.
She couldn’t have been more than thirteen or fourteen. He couldn’t tell. Time had skewed for him over the years and she was dressed to entice. She looked older in her shamefully scant clothing but he’d heard the whispers and the accusations about the men that frequented the hall. He doubted she was old enough for anything they were doing to her.
She didn’t move when he knew she ought to have been hungry. She didn’t move when the sun rose up in the sky again and she was still there now, wild blonde curls dusted with the ash he couldn’t shield her from.
Do not. Grow. Attached.
Mortal lovers were one thing but he absolutely had no business taking in a child.
Still, there was something about the way she stared into the fire. Fearless, victorious even.
“Looks like it’s curtains for this show, little lady,” he said finally, sweeping away with a dramatic flourish of feathers and leather, “there’s nothing left to see.”
She didn’t move when he stepped away from her, eyes fixated on the destruction before her. Genesis remembered the concept of shock well enough. Maybe her freedom hadn’t sunk in yet.
“The villains have been thoroughly vanquished,” he tried, sweeping his arm out, gesturing at the grand display of what some might call arson. He called it justice.
“They both met an unpleasant end at the swing of my sword and—“ he lit up a little fireball in the palm of his hand, casting her a playful grin, “the heat of my flames. You can go home to your parents.”
She still didn’t move, but he caught how the ghost of a smile settled onto her face, staring into the debris.
“They were my parents.”
Oh. Shit.
Swallowing a sigh, Genesis looked at the girl, then to the remains of the complex. He’d seen it before, parents using their children in any number of inhumane ways. He’d see it again still. He had an endless life to live, after all. And yet…
No. No, no, absolutely not.
Do. Not. Grow.
“I’ll come with you,” she decided, finally moving her feet and standing by his side again, this time, hugging his arm, “where does a Guardian live? It must be lovely.”
Attached.
