I am an idiot.
Wanna hear about it?
Staying up until 3am after discovering #februdairy may have been the dumbest thing I’ve done in a while. To avoid running my mouth on social media’s I’m even mildly recognized on and embarrassing my family imma plague you, the dear sweet users of tumblr with my moop.
I couldn’t help but want to comment on every ad for healthy happy dairy I came across. It all sounded the same the more I hurriedly typed out and deleted paragraphs of comments in response to images and descriptions.
The world would be better off without Dairy. Hands down. Ethically, cows are maternal and sentient, what people do to them is wrong. (Good people can do bad things, I don’t blame anyone for being indoctrinated in the culture, it’s how we lived to too long. ) There were many people trying to justify what happens as per standard practice and I think that’s what hurts the most.
In the industry, cows are impregnated young. As soon as they can be either via artificial insemination preformed by a human masturbating a bull, pumping an arm into the female anus to hold the uterus and inject the semen, or some farms (not sure how it accounts for efficiency/productivity or even success) allow bulls to breed the females directly. After 9 months of pregnancy the babies are removed from the mothers after their first drink. Farmers need calfs to have at least one drink to boost immunity but after that it’s considered a loss of product. Female calfs are isolated in tiny fenced hutches, males are usually sold off or slaughtered for veal.
Trying to stay objective, still sounds shitty though yeah?
After approximately 1/4 of their natural lifespan a cow could have 4-5 calves and be Entirely exhausted. Dairy cows are often slaughtered at 5 years old after ‘peak production’ begins to decline. In sanctuaries where these animals have the opportunity to live free of oppression they can reach 20-25 years.
It takes a lot of food, water, and space to raise these animals. They eat and drink far more than humans do, and there are billions of them. The conversion rate is laughable. When livestock farmers say they are feeding the world, it’s a falsehood. More of the crops grown on this earth are fed to farmed animals than people. Cows can eat things humans cannot, but the majority of them are fed soy, grains, corn and grass. Grass fed is still an environmental detriment- more space is used and the breakdown of these materials in the cows stomach release more methane than grain fed. Cow farts seem like small beans (lol) until you see billions, of them continuously over decades.
So- all said and done. The females have grown, had babies (had babies all taken from them) and been milked for everything farmers declare them worth. Next step is going to the slaughterhouse, high welfare or not, every animal dies there. (Unless they do not survive the farm experience, which is not uncommon but I don’t know the statistics.) How would you like to have first hand experience in a slaughter house? I’m sure they are always hiring. No one I know would be happy to kill hundreds of animals a day by hand for money. Bleed them out, cut them up, and ship them off for further processing. Most people don’t like seeing the animal they eat while eating it, messes with our heads. Mental health surrounding the consumption of animals and animal products I think is extremely under investigated. Mainstream media feeds us a lot of cognitive dissonance.
As for physical health, yeah. Dietary cholesterol and literal fats- these things don’t break down, they stay in the body, become part of the blood stream and wreak absolute havoc on your cardiovascular system. The arteries and blood vessels in your heart, lungs, brain, finger tips and toes are all interconnected. When you feed nutrient dense goo into the stream, it coats the walls of those passageways, narrowing them. Occasionally blocking them entirely. The blood becomes thick, foggy, ‘milky’. Nutrients cannot pass through cells coated with globules. Heart disease, stroke, various cancers even dementia have all been found to have causal links if not at barest minimum correlation to the consumption of meat, eggs and dairy. Breast milk nor flesh is hormone free. All the chemicals a body releases as it grows and becomes adult are all present in flesh and lactations long after death.
In conclusion, yes- I am an idiot and I worry too much about things I cannot control. Breast milk, is for babies. Go vegan.
Just for funsies, look at a dogs teeth- they are omnivores. Look at a cats teeth- they are obligatory carnivores. Look at any herbivore teeth, zebra, horse, etc. Flat in the front, molars in the back.
I know this was not well constructed or thought out- as with little sleep and an unbridled anger at the blatant ignorance of people who would literally kill infinitely for profit. We are milking our planet dry, our health system cannot carry the weight of the meat, egg and dairy industries. The economy should not continue to subsidize these practices just so we don’t have to pay the full dollar value of the true cost. The planet cannot sustain these practices. These animals are alive, and seek love and comfort from each other- why we condemn them to death is unequivocally selfish.
Id be amazed if anyone actually read this through, and on that same note I am sorry. May I produce better written things in the future. I am wide open to conversation no matter which side of the fence we sit. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Stay green ✌️

From @GoVeganTweets: On this the last day of Februdairy, let others know there is no humane dairy. It always means abuse & killing for cows & it’s harmful to you & the planet. Do the right thing & ditch it now by choosing healthy & delicious vegan alternatives: humanefacts.org/humane-dairy
———————————
And I’d like to add... You know what else is in that glass of milk, that slice of cheese, that bowl of ice cream, that dollop of sour cream, that cup of yogurt? Animal abuse (mental, emotional and physical) and death. WAKE UP!!! Research the dairy industry and do the right thing... Go vegan now! There are compassionate vegan versions of any meat or dairy product you can think of, available at your local grocery store. There is no excuse!

Let's celebrate #februdairy by sharing all the benefits of consuming dairy👌 So many options... shall we start with rape, kidnap, exploitation, or murder 🤔 @Regranned from @the_vegan_goddess - Dairy Farmers! In their own words 😠... "Baby maker is broke. In order for a cow to continue to produce milk, she needs to be able to reproduce. Reproduction is also vital for the business, as we need new cows to replace the cows leaving the herd. On our farm, we will attempt to breed a cow 5-7 times via artificial insemination before we label her a DNB or a do not breed. We will inseminate the cow once every estrus cycle (approximately every 21 days) for 5-7 cycles. If we are unable to impregnate her, she will simply live out the rest of her lactation with the herd. Naturally, the open cow’s milk production will decrease and we will eventually have to cull her". ⤵ . • Be fair • Be vegan • Educate others • . 🍃---------------------------------------------- ➡ WhatTheHealthFilm.com ⬅ 🔸 ➡ CarnismDebunked.com ⬅ 🔸 ➡ GoVeganWorld.com ⬅🔸🔸🔸 ➡ ComfortablyUnaware.com ⬅ 🔸 ➡ BeFairBeVegan.com ⬅ 🔸🔸🔸 ➡ BiteSizeVegan.com ⬅🔸🔸🔸 ➡ FreeFromHarm.org ⬅🔸🔸🔸 ➡ GotMisery.com ⬅🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 ➡️ Earthlings.com ⬅️🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 ➡️ ADAPTT.org ⬅️ 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 ➡️Cowspiracy.com ⬅️🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 ➡ Seaspiracy on YouTube ⬅🔸🔸 ➡ViveVegano.org ⬅🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 ➡ NutritionFacts.org ⬅ 🔸 🔸 🔸 ➡ HumaneMyth.org ⬅ 🔸 🔸 🔸 🔸 ---------------------------------------------------------🍃 #FoodForthought ... dairy & all animal use IS #motherhood denied/infanticide (abuse)🖓😡 #breastfeeding #bonding denied | #justsaying #truth #this #realtalk #fuck #februdairy #febudairy #govegan #vegansofig | #vegetarian #pescatarian GO#vegan #animallovers | #dogs / #cats = #cow #pig ect... they all feel | Ditch (all animal derived products) #seafood #chicken #beef #bacon #milk #cheese (all dairy/lactose), #eggs = violence /animal cruelty /slaughter | 'humane meat' = OXYMORON | ahimsa = #veganism... it is justice for all.

@Regranned from @karma.and.kale - Follow✔️ @earthlove777 @veganista_e Please stop contributing to this. NOT YOUR MOTHER NOT YOUR MILK 🌱GO VEGAN @nashville_animal_advocacy The fact that nearly the entire herd in this video is suffering from heavy lameness is baffling. Cases of lameness are common in dairy cows due to unnatural and inappropriate living conditions, still this vision is quite perplexing. Some suspect the cows were purposely injured to prevent them from wandering too far. When asked why the cows are limping the farmer casually replies that they are going to be sent to slaughter anyway.
If you, too, find animal farming unacceptable and wish to disassociate from it, try a vegan diet.  For assistance in ditching meat, dairy and eggs, visit challenge22.com

Story time: Eat Your Greens! My story on how I became vegan. Well, others say it is a form of extremism when in reality i had come to a point where I was faced with the knowledge of what animal products do to our planet, our animals, our oceans, our health, the wildlife, peacekeeping efforts, or how eating animals contribute to world hunger, to land and water shortage. I am just past my second anniversary of reaching the crossroad, I tried it for lent. I was previously vegetarian though occasionally I would eat seafood because I bought into the biggest and most harmful myth. The myth may come to no surprise to vegans but to carnists, but biologically speaking humans are frugivores and have no need for meat dairy or eggs. If it is for brain growth, protein or a specific nutrient we cannot get from plant sources: think again. I used to think they were healthy and necessary because it was normal and even praised on by acclaimed health professionals for being praised as being a good source of protein, B12 Omega 3, Vitamin D and so on.. Though their advice is misleading at best and deadly in the worst case scenario. Frugivires unlike true omnivores and carnivores require fiber for peristalsis. Peristalsis is a wave-like motion that pushes foid through your digestive tract. Animal products and most refined foods have absolutely no fiber and in fact most North Americans are not consuming enough fiber. Fiber not only adds bulk to stool and keeps you regular but acts as a regulator. For instance, it feeds good bacteria which keeps other microbes such as Candita and Ecoli in check. Fiber also creates the feeling of fullness and helps regulate your blood sugar and helps regulate your hormones. I studied it for a while trying to determine the necessity of eating these products. Any that support the consumption are those from those very industries that are involved in its marketing, distribution and promotion. So after removing the conflicts of interests and going after the multitudes of independently funded studies, the answer became very clear. We are in the sixth mass extinction, and we are the cause. 91% of Amazon rainforest destruction is attributed to the production of beef. Lots of wildlife is killed as bycatch or simply because it is interfering with the animals that are systematically being bred and genetically modified to meet the growing demand for human consumption. Beef production is so intensive on our resources, taking up 41 million pounds of feed to produce a mere 7 million pounds of beef. Methane is somewhere between 30 and 100× the potency of CO2 and unlike carbon dioxide, cannot be sequestered by plants. Most third world countries where child hunger is rampant sell off their grain to factory farmed animals in first world countries who will be killed off by the billions for consumption of something that takes up almost half the land globally and a third of the water. It takes about 1200L of water and an enormous anount of feed to produce a single burger. The current advice is to simply take shorter showers and use efficient taps but I could enjoy years of showers and eat burgers made of pulses before I would have the same water footprint of a person on the Standard American Diet, which is really sad. Though corporation is so powerful they are willing to twist facts regarding this and lie to you so that you will continue to line their pockets. A wise doctor by the name of Michael Gregor said "A whole food plant based diet is the only diet proven to reverse heart disease. If our number one killer was the only thing a plant based was reversed with a plant based diet, shouldn't a whole food plant based diet be the default diet until proven otherwise?" Going vegan reduces all cause mortality and is "dramatcally more effective than prescription pharmaceutical drugs" ~Dr. Gregor of Nutrition Facts The belief that people need to drink breastmilk of another species into adulthood to be healthy is just the craziest thing after thinking about it. We are not baby calves and we certainly do not grow at the same rate a calf does. Breastmilk comes from mammals that have just reproduced and had to have a baby. As you know, humans are very hormonal when pregnant and lactating, same goes for any other mammal. She will have hormones regardless of how she was raised and her estrogen will definitely affect you as you are a mammal. So, if you thought soy was bad, you should avoid dairy like the plague. Some may be sensitive to soy and should substitute for another legume when possible. As ar as soy and estrogen, it is phytoestrogen which affects plants and has a different structure than mammilian estrogen. You cannot deny that the large scale animal agriculture revolves around a very violent business plan and simply do not align with my own values. I pride myself in helping those who are vunerable, or need help if I am able to help out. It would be backwards reasoning to wish something on someone else because they were simply born into the wrong species. Stated clearly I could not think of myself as intellectually honest or conscious of the situation if I held my cats, pet my dogs and ate someone else or drank their growth formula or eat the unfertilized product (according to the FDA, CANNOT be legally called a health food due to cholesterol and risk of food poisoning) of someone bred to produce that amount and having male chicks ground alive or male calves being chained in a small crate so its veal is tender. Others may not have this qualm but I also cannot force anyone to care, either. I simply could not partake in the destruction of our only home in order to feed myself food that increase all-cause mortality.

Do you think you can go through the #febudairy tag and respond to what might be in there
Februdairy is largely a U.K. campaign and so hasn’t really made it to Tumblr in any way that needs addressing as far as I can tell. The majority of the tag appears to be vegan posts which was fun to see. It’s even being pretty heavily disrupted on Twitter as well. Is there a specific post you wanted my perspective on?

Yes we are , go vegan. Repost By conwls: I love the new narrative that the media are portraying vegans to be. The vegans who oppose this are the violent, evil, extremists...whilst the ones killing 56 billion land animals deserve respect. Please tell me, what part of animal agriculture deserves respect? Because I really do not understand... : : : : : : : #vegan #veganfitness #veganbodybuilding #vegans #vegansofig #veganism #bodybuilding #veganbodybuilding #fitness #yorkvegan #vegangains #veganmuscle #cheese #earthlings #worldveganday #cowspiracy #whatthehealth #henchherbivore #animalrights #peta #animalrights #crueltyfree #defendanimals #veganuary #veganuk #gains #biceps #febudairy #compassion #landofhopeandglory #picoftheday #fun #food #resturant #hunting

From The Empathetic Vegan: On this #InternationalWomensDay, I ask you to empathize with and stand up for all females - nonhuman and human - and help end all forms of violence, bodily assault and harm, promoting the fundamental rights for all beings to live with bodily autonomy, integrity, and respect by living vegan.
Every nonhuman born with female reproductive organs is a commodity and slave in all animal use industries. They are also *all* victims of sexual violation, harassment, abuse, assault, and other violent and gross manipulation of their bodies and reproductive parts - all against the female’s will and without her consent.
Nonveganism contributes to the ongoing assault on motherhood and the violation of bodily sovereignty for all nonhuman females. It destroys and permanently separates families. It enslaves and tortures emotionally and physically. It forces females to be inseminated and impregnated repeatedly, whether creating extreme and taxing amounts of breastmilk, and/or creating their offspring - have all their babies taken away from them, and have a short miserable existence as feeling machines in agony and pain - until they run dry, cease to produce, and then be killed and dismembered for other uses.
Nonhuman females are not able to express themselves on social media, so I will do so on their behalf, for as long as I can, as their defender.

😂 This is classic 👌 A greyhound trainer left this comment on @animallibqld's Facebook page under our video of Natasha debating 2 dairy-loving women from the country (remember the lovely ladies who laughed about the murder of animals and thought cows' purpose was to make milk for humans and be slaughtered... yep 😑). So this guy thinks the women were actors set up by vegan activists... presumably to make non-vegans look bad 🤣 Mate, we couldn't make this shit up!! When carnists don't even believe the nonsense they say 👏 Vegans don't have to try and make carnists look bad... we just give them the opportunity to speak for themselves and hear their own insane justifications for needlessly murdering animals. In fact the mental gymnastics played to justify enslavement and murder don't even convince other carnists, like this guy. #febudairy #februdairy #comedy #ditchdairy #dxe #vegan #veganlife #cheese #milk #icecream #dairy #dairyisscary #postmilkgeneration #youarenotababycow #veganactivist #veganactivism #vegano #veganism #vegana #animalrights #animalliberation #untileverycageisempty #animalsareherewithusnotforus #itsnotfooditsviolence #activism #veganrevolution #itstheleastwecando #thatvegancouple

Join me today, February 1st 2017, as I participate in the #februdairy #febudairy THUNDERCLAP on all social media platforms, to counter the dairy industry's hapless attempt to bring back people's love for dairy after #veganuary almost annihilated it. 🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄 Post anything you want that showcases and proves how horrible the dairy industry is. You can post gory images, fun facts, poetry, whatever. Just spread that #truth. PS I'm veering away from posting anything dark + upsetting as it's unsettling and unhealthy for my sanity. I don't want to push the militant/aggressive vegan persona anymore. I just want peace for all. Myself included. 🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄 @Regranned from @animalagricultureclimatechange - Every drop of milk, every spoon of yoghurt, every dollop of ice cream and every slice of cheese causes misery and suffering to dairy cows and their babies. And what’s more, humans shouldn’t even be drinking milk! ⠀ ⠀ Help us to make our voices heard about how the animal agriculture industry is responsible for climate change by signing our petition to Pope Francis, a committed climate change campaigner.
