HOW CHRISTIANITY SUPPORTS MULTIRACIAL, MULTICULTURAL DEMOCRACY
'The Bible doesn't mention abortion or gay marriage, but it goes on and on about forgiving debt, liberating the poor, and healing the sick' — This pastor perfectly explained how the values expressed in Christianity can support a multiracial, multicultural democracy instead of right-wing extremism (via jamestalarico on TikTok)
Many churches do charitable work. In my area, the homeless shelter could not operate without the support of local faith communities - including Jews and Muslims.
Fewer people participating in church means fewer people doing that charitable work. If the need is going to be served, more non-religious organizations will have to serve it.
I'm all for taxing churches. I'm also all for taxing the rich and investing that money in social programs that help those in need.
Sometime ago a man to our house and he said, ‘Mother, there is a family, a Hindu family, that has eight children. They have not eaten for a long time. Do something for them.’ So I took some rice and I went. When I arrived at their house I could see the hunger in the children’s eyes. Their eyes were shining with hunger. I gave the rice to the mother, and she took the rice. She divided it into two, and then she went out. When she came back, I asked her, ‘Where did you go?’ She said, ‘They are hungry also.’ Next door neighbor, they were also hungry. What struck me most, not that she gave the rice but she knew they were hungry. And because she knew, she shared. And this is what we have to come to know…. Love, to be true, has to hurt and this woman who was hungry – she knew that her neighbor was also hungry, and that family happened to be a Muslim family. So it was touching, so real.
Mother Teresa, "Where there is Love, there is God"
If you've been praying and asking to feel closer to God or to have more opportunities to share His love, start by helping the homeless people you encounter. Don't ignore them, they're who Christ asked you to take care of, they're who he came to commune with. And, like, don't preach at them. Help them.

Residents of Houston feel free to write to the mayor's office and tell them to get rid of the Feeding Ordinance that criminalizes feeding people in need in a public space.
[ID: A photo with a black border of a hand-painted cardboard sign that reads, "It costs less money to house the homeless than it does to persecute them!"
The "money" is represented by two dollar symbols, and "less money" is painted green, with yellow lines for emphasis radiating out from the dollar symbols.
The words "house the homeless" are in block letters that are painted white on the inside.
The word "persecute" is painted in red, and underlined for emphasis.
José Andrés, founder of the World Central Kitchen. They provide disaster relief and feed the people affected by disasters.
The first picture is a stove that uses the power of the sun to cook food. The second one is an oven that uses the energy of the sun to bake food. José uses these stoves and ovens to feed people for free who have been affected by disasters. He goes wherever he is needed. He started feeding people with his organization in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. He is an amazing chef and a great humanitarian. The World Central Kitchen is funded by donations. He, recently, sent 200 tons of food to Gaza to help the innocent people that are affected by the war. These pictures came from Top Chef, season 13, firing which, José said that these stoves and ovens can change the world, and I think that he's right. Bless the people of the World Central Kitchen and all of the people who have donated to keep it going. It's such a beautiful gift to mankind. 😍😊 We, definitely, need more people like José Andrés. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you sooooooo much, Chef Andrés 😍😍😍
