Sometimes I feel like only Peter Parker gets how humbling it is to be poor jesus christ. I am enjoying my time despite not being my cup of tea (I am a dialogue person, I love dialogue I love dialogue as a dog loves little delicious treats. 60's comics unfortunately do not have the best kind of dialogues). But I am enjoying it, almost as a concept, hecause Stan Lee and Robin Dikto do not have the fear to show a pathetic little man, they don't have the embarrassment of showing your hero getting rejected by the girl, forgetting to let his suit dry and having to wear a wet scrunky suit, showing him being arrogant, being annoying, a very very antisocial guy.

I think reading so so many comics where it's clear how much the writers are trying to make the hero sound cool, the smartest, handsomest and smoothies guy in the room.

Peter is kind of a breath of fresh air. He gets it, he really does. He's not cool, he's not there yet. He's a kid doing dumb shit. Trying to do better, failing and failing and trying. No wonder so many people who got to read his comics as they were growing up hold Peter so close to their heart.

Because he's the proof you can try again, you can fuck up, in ten, twenty, thirty hell maybe forty years from now it won't matter. Just try again. Stand up. Try again.

@sciderman talks a lot about how Spider-Man is about reaching manhood and I've never get it, sure as a concept yes but I couldn't grasp why. Now I do.

It's not about waking up and being the man you should be, being responsible for having a cool montage of getting better and better. Nah it's the every day thing. Peter isn't (at least what I am getting of the comics while I read at my pace and time) the representation of becoming the power and responsability thing, he is the representation of having this as a goal. And trying each day.

previously on "Kouri vs. Her Family", I mentioned that my brother is really irritated at my dad because they all live in the same house and my dad chose to live in a place with kids and dogs and then gets upset when they act like kids and dogs.

my parents have had dogs and my dad LOVES our dog so if he doesn't like Rex it's because Rex is, you know, a monster

they originally were planning to get a place with a separated in-law apartment but couldn't find one

my brother said something along the lines of "when we planned all this, they were younger" like bruh???? what did you expect to happen? you are an adult man, you should be aware of the passage of time

(wasn't that the entire point??? that you'd have them around to help with the kids and then you'd be able to take care of them once they got old????? if that wasn't the point, what was? just being able to afford a bigger, nicer house with my dad's money??????)

my dad emailed me yesterday with a house listing in the city I live in 😂😂😂 (about 45 minutes away from my brother). no preamble, no context. just a Zillow link and the text "I will explain when I can be assured of privacy"

and because I am a good, dutiful daughter I looked at the link and said I would not recommend that particular house because it's right by a very busy intersection and it's not a great neighborhood, but I found a couple others they might like, if this is indeed for them and not for some OTHER person he knows (my dad knows zero people)

to which he said, "Mom thinks I am overreacting. I am still inclined to move." and now we're meeting for lunch this weekend so I can't WAIT to see how this goes and test out my 'marriage counseling for your aging parents who have the communication skills of toddlers and haven't compromised on anything in 50 years' course

Featuring mentions of Angel Dust's relationship with Val

Here's a fact. Vox is not being abused by Valentino.

This fandom is so deep in fanon content that it heavily intertwines with canon. But let's try to understand where Val abusing Vox came from, why it's not true and how it correlates to Angel Dust's relationship with Val.

Let's begin:

In the, now archived, posts on Instagram (or voxtagram), it was revealed that Vox and Val were in a situation-ship, and canon officially confirmed it.

Now, Val as a character is heavily hated and for good reasons while Vox is not. Many people adore Vox and for that, his relationship with Val can be conflicting, adding a bit of difficulty in justifying their like for him.

Here's where Valentino's relationship with Angel Dust comes in.

Val has been shown to be abusive and to SA Angel Dust. First example of that being the Addict music video.

This has created the need for people to give a reason behind Vox's relationship with Val and make excuses for him so they can validate their favoritism.

"Val is so awful! He must be abusing Vox! Breaking his screen and whatnot!"

What people don't take into consideration is the difference in their power imbalance or lack thereof.

One of the core factors in Angel Dust's relationship with Val is the power difference between them.

Val is an overlord while Angel is a sinner.

A sinner that signed a contract with Val and gave his soul. That alone makes their dynamic vastly different. Val feels it's within his right to abuse Angel, to test his limits until he breaks. And up until episode 4, Angel believed he deserved it because whatever Val did to have him sign the contract must have been his fault. Although that's not true, Angel felt so. Heck, he wanted to break himself so that Val would let him go.

Vox and Val, on the other hand, don't have that. Both of them are overlords.

They are on equal footing. There is no power imbalance. In fact, the Vees could have not existed and both Vox and Val, including Velvette, would be completely fine without each other and continue to have their respective overlord status.

The reason it exists is exploitation.

All three can and do use each other so they can have a more powerful front. A mutual alliance of exploitation. Within this, they have created their own fucked up bond. As a result of that, Val and Vox have an on-again, off-again relationship. It's far from healthy, but it's not an abusive one.

Vox knows of Valentino's behavior but as long as it's not effecting their shared partnership, he will not interfere nor will he care about it.

Or maybe the next seasons will give me the middle finger and I'm completely wrong. Who knows? I just read a fic and saw posts about Vox being abused by Val and wanted to give my two cents on the topic.

This may have already been done before but here's my take on things. Sorry if it seems like I copied anyone but this was a shower thought

In an alternate universe, where danny does get electrocuted, but instead of becoming a halfa and protecting his town, he dies.

All that's left is a smoking corpse. But out of that corpse comes danny. In his ghost form.

And in his panic he hides his own body and his ghostly body adapts, he looks almost human again. But who's going to notice if his teeth are sharper and his skin paler?

Certainly not his parents, but maybe his friends, classmates?

Que Danny instead of becoming a superhero-vigilante he's just a normal boy trying to hide the fact that he's a ghost replacing the person he once was.

Shenanigans ensue, and we follow danny doing ridiculous things to keep his secret. And everyone can see that somethings wrong with him, but he just won't accept help!

His rouges instead of fighting him are trying to get him to understand, to move on. That he can't stay here forever. But he is still a child, a grieving child. And so they fight, they argue, they cry and eventually come to a conclusion, they'll give him until the end of high school to figure it out, then he has to come to the ghost zone.

And now all appears to be going well, it's almost been a year since his death day. 8 months 1 week 3 days to be exact. But something is bothering him, his parents are working on something, something big. The fights he had over the last few months attracted thier attention and that isn't a good sign.

Jack and Maddie Fenton have made a weapon. A weapon that can pull a ghost from where it's hiding. They announce to the world thier discovery and along with it thier plan. They were going to 'study' these creatures and determine if they were a threat.

People around the world have been split. Half were in full support of the Fentons and half called them out saying thier plans were inhumane and dangerous. They protested outside Fenton works.

And Danny? He was scared he was worried about what his parents might do if they found out.

Tha brings us to now as danny was being dragged at his feet desperately trying to get away as thier machine pulled him toward the cage. He clawed and kicked but it was no use, he sat in the cage hands at the bars. Looking out at the see of people and hundreds of cameras, fear clear in his eyes.

His parents, his mom, his dad they looked at him, horror etched into thier faces. Where is our boy?! Where is our son?! What have you done with our baby? They cried. But turned away from him when he gave them his answer.

"Am I really that unrecognizable?"

Final arm update

In 2023 I attempted to try and get bigger arm muscles. From the results, some increase in sizecan be seen and there is more definition. I think to achieve bigger muscles I will need to buy a weight set and move on from just doing body weight exercises.

Overall however I can say I did get bugger muscles just like I called it a year ago 😁

the following update is brought you by the letters LMAO and WTF

so as discussed in my previous posts, the house my parents share with my brother's family is LARGE. like deadass this place has three living rooms. and one of them has a fireplace. upon this fireplace were displayed my dad's butterfly boxes. sadly, I don't have a picture but they are very pretty, and they were really the only color in the room, which is mostly white with dark blue sofas.

for those unfamiliar with butterfly boxes, they look something like this:

they tend to be somewhat expensive because they are made with butterflies that have already died a natural death (no butterflies are harmed in the making of these boxes) but obviously the butterflies in question have to be in perfect condition

my dad's looked a lot like these but they were clear glass all the way through, and the butterflies were a lot more colorful. he's had these literally as long as I can remember, so at least 35-40 years. and he had them up on the fireplace mantle.

today he emails me all in a tizzy because SIL took them down and replaced them with this:

now we all have our own tastes and opinions but wtf in the hgtv is that shit??? that is the most boring, random collection of items - that is staging by a realtor, not decoration by a real person! it looks so completely soulless. and she did this without asking him or even mentioning it to him and he doesn't even know where his butterfly boxes even ARE currently because he's been so mad that he hasn't trusted himself enough to ask lmao. I told him I'll ask if he wants, I'm ready to fight, I'm pissed. you can't just move someone's shit without asking them and replace it with stuff that you personally think looks better!!!!!! okay I'm okay I'm gonna go breathe into a paper bag until the urge to drive forty-five minutes and punch my SIL in the nose subsides
