Do you think Nodoka knows if her friends were discharged because they got better or, in worst cases, returned home because there's nothing else the doctors can do or died? I think this would bring a lot of pain to her or fear of the same thing happening to her. Nodoka is a very complex character and the best thing that Healin Good developed

((I think she definitely knew if her friends were discharged because she'd help them say goodbye but she was only told of the worse outcomes if she interacted with them often enough.))

((Nodoka didn't have many friends her age growing up. Sure, she did interact with other kids in her wing of the hospital but she hadn't managed to stay in contact with them after they were discharged or worse, passed away.))

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY NODOKA!!!" Chiyu says happily, hugging one of her closest friends- not too tightly, but enough to show how much she cares for the girl. "I got you something!" She then handed over the pink-wrapped gift box. Inside was a fluffy sweater to keep her warm and a year-long gift card to the hot springs for her and her family.

"Fwow~! This is amazing, Chiyu-chan!"

Any gift her friend gave her would be just as amazing but still! She was so grateful to have friends like this with a body that wasn't bound to a hospital bed.

Nodoka wrapped her arms around Chiyu in a hug of her own.

"Thank you for the gift! I'll be sure to treasure it!"

What would she do without Rabirin, Chiyu, and the others by her side? Nodoka took another breath.

"I'll be there as soon as I can! I'll see if Chiyu-chan and the others can come too!"

Nodoka didn't know how a Megapathogerm managed to appear in Ichigozaka, but there was no way she was going to leave it alone! Nodoka began texting everyone she could, including Rabirin.
